one of the greatest ever doing.

Just said whatever.
Speaker 5 (00:23):
I want to make sure you want to sit in
your seat again. I want to make sure.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Look like you're ready to fight now. I thought you were.
You're usually are bulky when you're not, you know.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
And I'm losing weight right now for what, Just because
it's getting my body together, you know, fast and a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Oh somebody been talking too much too much.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
First of all, how you feeling, brother?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I feel great? You feel great? You know. I'm I'm
happy around, man, I'm living a life from traveling, seeing
the world and next word, better life. Right now.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
People always asking are you coming back to do you
have that itch at all?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Just step down for a second, man, I'm just asking.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
No, I don't. I don't you know, I don't have
the desire to do anything no more, not that I can't,
It's just what I did everything. And then I look
back and say, ain't nobody gonna be able to replicate
a retirement in a career like I've done?
Speaker 5 (01:24):
So are you still training? Though I'm not, don't even train.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Train at all? Like I work out from time to time,
like in the gym, but like as far as boxing, you.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
Don't miss it at all.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
His whole life.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, I've been doing that seven. I think I'm gonna
go back to the gym, do a little couple of training,
you know here soon, probably a month or two.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
How does that feel to when you're a person who
spent their whole life preparing for fights?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Did you prepare for retirement the same way?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I didn't? I didn't, you know the Canelo fight. Already
knew that I was gonna be my last fight. But
I never sat down and was like, what I'm gonna
do with Ohama, prepare for retirement and things like that.
It's just with something that God laid on my shoulders
and boom. I just handled it as it came.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
It was dope the way you did the video. But
after the Canelo fight, you're saying you already had it
in mind that you was gonna be done.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
But was there a.
Speaker 7 (02:19):
Battle, like a struggle after that fight, like, man, do
I really want to be done?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Like?
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Do I have another one in me? Did you have
that that moment?
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Not at all, Not at all, because my mind was
already made up, so everything else just fell into place.
Speaker 7 (02:37):
But with their offers like the Turkey, I ain't getting
nothing for no other fight, So that's BS people saying, no,
he got a nod for to fight Canelo and the
rematch for X amount of dollars or boots or yes,
we ain't.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Never even had a conversation about rematch with Canelo, boots
or no anybody else.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
What's to prepare your mind emotionally, emotionally or financially when
it comes to retirement.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I would say emotionally. Financially that's always be there, that's
there every day. But you battling emotions every day, every second.
So I say emotion.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Because you still gotta But you still got to have
the money to retire, Yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, but I've been doing it for thirty years. Money
being secure, yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
Not only making money though, But you people don't know
you you purchased a lot of properties in different states,
so you've been preparing to be financially free for Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
For sure, for sure. Like before the Spense fight, I
told people like, I don't got a box no more.
I do this because I want to do it. You know,
y'all do it because y'all have to do it. It's
a reason why I can fight one time a year
and be comfortable with not fighting because I don't have
(04:00):
to do it. So after the Spence fight, yeah, that
just kind of pulled me to another level. Then Mage
them off, then Canelo and it's like I really really
really need to don't have to have my kids work
no more, you know, after the Canelo fight. So that's
(04:23):
just b I scene and putting it in the work
before I have to do everything else.
Speaker 8 (04:30):
What were the lessons that you learned on that the
business side of it that made you think like that,
like you're naming your kids not fighting no more. You
don't have to fight. But like a lot of people
don't get the money business side of it right. What
lesson taught you to get it right?
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Paying attention to the wealthy people, you know, looking at
all my people and all the people that had the
world in their hands and was successful and went broke.
Looking at the things that they did wrong, paying attention
to history. History always repeat itself if you pay attention.
(05:05):
So when you look at all these athletes that I
had a lot of money and a lot of fame
and every everything given to him, and you see what
they did with the money, then you say Dan and
I remember this guy was the man and he had millions.
Now look at him. I don't want to be like him.
(05:27):
I don't want to work my whole life fighting for
something and then lose it all and then everybody be
like man, I remember, I don't want to be that person.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
You seem like you live a very modest life though, Yeah,
for sure, for sure he'll buy a fishing rod before
you buy a Bentley.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yeah I ain't everybody. I got a Mercedes.
Speaker 7 (05:51):
You know, when you build the nice house, money in
your house.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
But that's the investment, you know, I look at it.
You know, a house as an investment.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I'm not spending no crazy amount of money on cars
and jewelry and unnecessary thing. So that's just me.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
Did you have a mentor, like somebody that like gave
you the game outside the ring.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, I had a few mentors, you know, when talking
to them and them telling me like, hey, save your money,
save your money, like everybody always preached that.
Speaker 7 (06:31):
Yeah, but people say that, but then other people say,
don't save your money, put it on the street, like
investing in stuff, because sitting in the back it ain't gonna.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Work for you.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's still saving your money. That's you know, you're putting
your money to work, saving your money. It's not wasting it.
You're not going out just splurging and spending it like
they grow on trees, you know. When I was younger, See,
I never had a problem with saving my money. You know.
(06:59):
I was always the one, Oh he dusty, he dusty,
but I had a pocket full of money. I was.
I was that that guy, you know what I mean.
And my coach used to always tell me, like, man,
what you're gonna do around all that money? Tomorrow I
(07:20):
ain't promised. You need to start spending some of that money.
And I start looking at it like, dangn you're right,
because we don't know what tomorrow holds. So while we
all saving, saving, saving, we need to live life a
little bit as well. But that don't mean be you know,
stupid with your money. You know, be smart, enjoy yourself
(07:41):
when you can, but make sure that as much as
you spending, you're recouping at the same time. That way
you have a balance.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I see you spent.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
You seem to spend a lot of money on experiences,
for sure, like traveling for sure.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
For sure. You know, I'll spend my money on going
to a different country, learning history and learning something and
things that don't matter tomorrow, you know, taking my kids
out to a different country. They're gonna remember that for
the rest of their life, and they're gonna cherish that,
(08:17):
you know, me seeing you know, something that I would
have never thought i'd see in a different country and
learning something, then I come back to the States with
a different perspective. I appreciate that more than anything.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
How do you make sure your family inherence financial literacy
and not just the money that you're gonna leave.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Just teach them, you know, you gotta, like like I
was taught, You gotta teach them. You gotta, you know,
let them know, like hey, listen, for every dollar that
you use, you know, that's a dollar you need to
make best right or you know, like money don't grow
on trees, like I said before, And you gotta you
(08:57):
gotta help them understand because they don't underderstand because of
the time that they was brought into this world, they
never had to worry about. And for me, I spoiled them.
So now I'm in a phase of not giving them
everything that they want.
Speaker 9 (09:14):
Why do parents do that?
Speaker 8 (09:16):
Like you spoil them and then you try to unspoil them.
Why don't just balance it from the beginning.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
It's not because for me, I always wanted them to
have what I didn't. I never wanted them to have
to worry about what I had to worry about. So
for me, that's what my spoiledness came from. Like here, man,
y'all ain't gotta worry about nothing. The clothes, the shoes,
(09:40):
the phones, the games, like everything that y'all want, y'all
got because I sacrificed, you know, so y'all can have
the luxury life that I never had.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
But you know, for granted.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
There you go, so then you start looking at it,
this phone break, this phone break, this game system break.
Then it becomes oh, well, my dad got money, here'll
buy me another one. And then you start looking back
and you. Okay, No, they ain't appreciative.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
They know it's a little bit for you. It's like
meave your lights to it.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
I'm like, yeah, on the daytime doing that, that's what. Yeah,
that too.
Speaker 7 (10:25):
So hurts you a little bit to say no. Finally,
like if one of yourselves or something.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
You're good with it. No. So my daughter, she she
always she always asked me. I said, man, why I
feel like you using me? I said, don't don't don't
use me. Don't do that to me. What she said,
you know, I love you. I said, man, you only
try to be nice and and do all this extra
(10:51):
stuff when you want something, what you want. You know,
I already know they want something. My daughters. My daughters
all do the same thing. And I telling them, like,
don't do that to me. You know what I mean.
You don't gotta love all up on me when you
want something, to do that naturally, you know. Yeah. My
boys they just like whatever. You know, boys they wild animals.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
Man, your kids want the box.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
No, they did at first, but now they wrestling, still
playing basketball.
Speaker 7 (11:22):
You just they just went to it was Africa with you,
like you took them with you on the strip. But
what is that experience like like seeing your kids seeing
the world and seeing these different cultures, Like they.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Ain't gonna appreciate it until they get a little older,
you know, going to see the pyramid and want to
see Tanzania and beautiful. Yeah, they ain't gonna. They ain't gonna.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
They don't realize what they're experiencing right now because they
show their oh really, or they were acting up.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Man. I took their phones and every day took their TV.
They ain't have no TV Africa, Man, they show that
what they do fifteen now he ten and twelve.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
No, they gonna appreciate it. I'm sure you already notice it.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Now it'll be a regular casual conversation and they'll be
talking about Africa like it's nothing.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
They don't.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
They must have been out there just on their phone
the whole time.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
No, they just was tripping, not listening, fighting each other,
getting into it with each other, just doing the most.
And I'm like, man, like y'all way in Africa trying
to like argue and fight with each other, being irritating
to each other, like do that at home? Like I
always tell them that, like when we all in public,
like you know, y'all don't fight with each other, like
(12:43):
y'all do that back at home or behind closed doors.
But some boys like, all.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Right, another thing I like about you too?
Speaker 1 (12:54):
You never left Omaha, right, like emotionally, like like why
was it important to bill where you came from instead
of chasing somewhere else?
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Like everybody like to run the Vegas when they box them.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Because when you look at those bigger cities, somebody made
them cities pop. Somebody put those cities on the map
to make people want to be appreciative and happy where
they're from. You know, I'm from Omaha, the place that
they said it's on the corn, you know. But when
(13:24):
they come to Omaha, they see a different side that
they never thought that they'll see. It's like, man, y'all
got black people here, y'all got a city here, y'all
got this, y'all got that, and it's like yeah, like
it's just like any other city, you know. And not
only that, you see those little kids that look up
(13:45):
to you and they like, man, if he can do
what I can do, and you give him a hope,
and you see them start working towards they dreams and
they goals and whatever it is, and you would be
the big inspiration for those little kids. And that's the reason,
the main reason why I haven't moved. I still live
there and I'm still active in the neighborhood.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
I see you doing an analyst thing. Do you enjoy that?
Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's cool? It's cool. I was nervous. I don't know why, but.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
I mean, what made you nervous?
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Because this is what you do. You I'm sure you
can see it before any other analysts.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yeah, but I don't know. It's just a different lane,
different lanes. So I think this, this next one is
gonna be better. I felt like I was getting better
as we go.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Do you practice at home?
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Do you watch old fights and just act like you
did to make sure you got to know?
Speaker 1 (14:38):
They got mad at you when you was bringing down
Boots fight the other day though, Yeah, I don't know
what the commentary. I mean, I heard the commentary, but
I didn't understand what made them so upset about it.
I said, you was hating.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
I'm always hating. If I say something, I'm hating on
on Boots, but it is what it is. They gonna
say what they're gonna say, because you know they been
putting my name with Boots name for years, like to
boost him, you know, so they're using my name to
catapult him.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
So you saw you saw the clip I'm pretty sure
on online where they was asking him who's easy work?
Speaker 6 (15:14):
And he said that you were easy work? Did you
see that?
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:17):
What? What?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
What?
Speaker 6 (15:18):
What do you feel when you see something like that?
I don't feel nothing.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Like I was easy work?
Speaker 7 (15:26):
Then you know his mental but you you gave him
his props on the wind with Xander. You just the
one thing you said, I'm people don't understand.
Speaker 6 (15:35):
I'm just ten steps ahead of you. Like that. That
was a statement like, yeah, you did your thing, but
you still can't for me. It was that like a little.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Man listen man, Like I said, I'm retired and there's
no need to keep going back and forth with somebody
that I ain't gonna.
Speaker 6 (15:56):
But is he the face of boxing now?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
No? Canelos still face box? For sure? Like I've been
dealing with this type of stuff for years, He's just
getting a glimpse of it. You know. He everybody is
onto his his his train. I'm gonna say they jumping
(16:18):
on this train, you know. But he don't know that
those same people is gonna be turning against him and
in a minute, you know what I mean. And then
he's going to be at a point where he's gonna
be like, dang, I'm talented, but I'm not getting any credit.
Oh well, everything I do they say, oh, you're supposed
to do that. Every person I be, they're gonna be like, oh,
(16:40):
are you supposed to be He's gonna get to that
point where he's going to be like, then it's going
to be another fighter that come along, and they're gonna
start comparing him to him, and then they're gonna start
taking all the credit away from him. Now people gonna
some people are gonna give him credit, you know. But
he's gonna deal with the same thing that Floyd dealt with,
(17:02):
Terrence Crawford deal with, Andrew Wards right now, and history
gonna repeat itself. You know. He's gonna deal with the
same things that everybody before him dealt with, and then
he's gonna have to handle that.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
What makes somebody to face a boxing.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
What you generate, you know, Like I look at Canelo
like he moves the needle no matter who he fight,
where he fight, you know, and that's you know, what
I would consider the face of boxing. Like when Floyd
came around, like you knew, like Floyd was there, like Canelo. Yeah,
(17:47):
you know, you gotta give him his credit.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
But it's got to be more than that though, right,
because I mean, you never moved the needle like that
pay per view wise.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah, but when you look at when you look at me,
I wasn't molded and marketed like them. You know, I
didn't have the backing like them, but I had the name.
People would say, oh, well, you wasn't a big name,
and you wasn't. How come I wasn't. Anybody I fought
(18:16):
made the highest payday in their career. Anybody that I
fought had well, outside of Canelo had the highest ratings.
Even Canelo this last fight the highest ratings that he
ever had, the highest you know.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
Views, man, just I think that's the highest payday Canelo
ever got against it.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Like, when you look at it, you just say, Okay,
well why he didn't get that with these other guys.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I mean, to me, that was the fight, right, Like
to me, those are the two faces of boxing.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
When you'all thought, so, I got gotta be more than
just pa.
Speaker 6 (18:53):
But you gotta do something in a ring too, You
got fight.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
You gotta have a dance partner like I hate when
pe Boom like try to diminish one fighter to big
up another fighter and say, oh, well, this fighter is
the one reason why he did all these numbers and
why they sold so much. Okay, So if that's the case,
why he didn't do that with this guy or this
(19:17):
guy or this guy or this guy? Answer that.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
That's what I say about Floyda.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
I mean, I love Floyd, but people always talk about
Floyd is a pay per view king. But every time
he did it, he had to have a fighter that
came with a whole country. McGregor came with Ireland, you know,
PACKI came with the Philippines. Canelo came to Mexico. So
it wasn't like he to your point, he needed that.
All fighters need that other the villain of that dance.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
You got to. You got to. You know. It's kind
of like any sport when you have two powerhouse football
teams going head to head, that's just gonna make the
views even more because the level of intense that he
does going into the game. The same way with basketball,
(20:05):
if the Lakers was playing the Celtics in the NBA Finals,
it's gonna be massive, you know, so.
Speaker 9 (20:12):
For Boots, then who is that fight?
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Then?
Speaker 8 (20:14):
Like that would get him to the point where you
would even consider him face of boxing.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
And he's gonna have to do a lot of work.
You know, he haven't even scratched the surface on becoming
the face of boxing yet.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Now you mentioned Floyd.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Do you think all the stuff that's going on with
Floyd hurts his legacy because we talk more about finances
the exhibition fights, but nobody necessarily talks about him his
legacy and the wins and all that.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
What's your thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
I don't think what he's going through hurt anything, because
everything that he's going through is speculation. You know, nobody
really personally know what he's going through. We see things
on social media and then they run with it. They say, oh, well,
Floyd is Floyd that Floyd Floyd broke. Come on now,
(21:04):
Floyd ben broke. I just can't see that. If a
person that was a billionaire is worth five hundred million, now,
oh he's broke because he's not a billionaire, and he
broke to me, right, he broke to nobody. You know,
a person that can do what he want, when you want,
and how you want. It's not broke to me, so
(21:26):
I just don't get into that. I don't understand why
people they take a narrative and then they run with
it and don't know what's going on.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
I think because he always leads with money, right, everything
is showing money, like he's on the court side, you know,
pulling out bags of cash. So if that's almost like
that's what validates him. And I'm not throwing shot at
Floyd's career. He's one of the goats right in the ring,
no doubt, but it seems like he needed that validation
from the social media that I have money.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
So I think that's that's why it is affecting them
more than anything.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
I think it was just that he just sold people
a lifestyle. But you know, he sold people a lifestyle
to get them in tune with his personal life and
the things outside of the ring, because people will call
them boring. So then he made people tune in by
(22:24):
taking his lifestyle into perspective of the person that he is.
And some people hated them for it and some people
criticized them for it, and that's what made him a
bigger superstar in the game because people like, oh man,
I want to have money like Floyd. I want to
dry these cars like Floyd that lifestyle. He sold the lifestyle.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
But what is it?
Speaker 7 (22:48):
What do you know about Floyd that most people don't know.
I know you developed a better relationship with him over
the years later on in your career like that.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
Maybe people a misconception.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Of Floyd Man floyda cool dude. You know, Like a
lot of people will say he want to be the
center attention and things like that. But I never want
to be the center. So it don't fake me like
you have that, you know what I mean. But like
Floyd Man, like I appreciate him because like he'll just
hit me up out the blue. How you how you're
the family. Don't want nothing, just just checking on me.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
Nothing to do with box, nothing to do with boxing.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Like he'll just call me, how you doing, How the family?
How the kids? You know, how to health? Everything? Good?
All right? I don't want nothing. I'm just checking on
your family, you know, like when I'm in Vegas here,
but like come come, come to the skate ring. We're
gonna be skating.
Speaker 7 (23:40):
You know you're here, like just you know, so you
get upset where people like Baracking myself do fantasy matchups
with you and Floyd.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Does that bother you?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
No, because that's just what boxing is. You know, people
compare Jordan and Lebron. I'm pretty sure Jordan's get tired
of hearing comparisons with him and Lebron, But at the
same time they compare him to somebody before him. It's
gonna happen to sport. I don't get mad, and I'm
(24:09):
pretty sure you don't either.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Do you ever do that to yourself? Though?
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Like, do you ever hear those conversations and be like, what,
what what would that fight look like?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Of course?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Okay, of course me as a competitor.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Of course, has he ever beat you in your in
your mind?
Speaker 2 (24:20):
For me?
Speaker 1 (24:20):
No, So you know what that fight would look like
if y'all thought, yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
For sure, definitely and then played it out and pictured
all that.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
So how would have it gone? How would have it gone?
Would have gone?
Speaker 6 (24:39):
For me?
Speaker 2 (24:40):
To know?
Speaker 5 (24:41):
Nobody to find out?
Speaker 9 (24:44):
You talk much about to get back in the gym
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
No, no, no, nothing like that. I just.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Congrats on your SQ win too. That's but once again
I saw folks questioning that. They said that your victory
over Canelo one of the one of boxings defining moments,
but the debate is whether that one accomplishment should outweigh
fighters who competed more often and delivered a strongle overall
body or work like who.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
I don't know, there you go. That's just you know,
somebody that's picking up the keyboard and say, let me
hate on Terrence Crawford. I don't think he should have
got this with one fight, Okay, So, like I said,
who was more deserving?
Speaker 6 (25:30):
Because you took the fight defined good.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Fighter that was lined up against me should have deserved it.
Speaker 7 (25:41):
I mean that that fight is so defining that people
would talk about it twenty years from now because of
the weight jump and the big fight. So I can't
even think of I mean respect to all the fighters
that won big fights last year, but I can't think
of anything that's either close.
Speaker 6 (25:55):
So I don't know who's saying that.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
It's crazy, because, like I said it, I don't think
nobody it's going to be able to retire in this magnitude,
jumping up two way divisions, beating the guy that was
undefeated in his division, no rehydration clause for undisputed, he
(26:20):
had all the belts, not only that walking away win
in every award there is. So that's a clean slate
from Fighter of the Year with ASPS, b W A,
A ring, just everything, and to be able to say,
(26:43):
all right, y'all, I'm out.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
I learned my lesson. I only doubt and that was
against Earl. I just I just thought that you and
I just thought Earl would.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Get the other hand. But you know, clearly you changed
the trajectory of his whole career. Do you ever think
about that?
Speaker 2 (26:59):
No?
Speaker 3 (27:02):
But I ask you why though?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Remember when I when I say here, I'm just like,
why you like feel that way? Like I just felt
like and I told you, I felt like y'all was
just going off of what everybody else was saying and
not looking at boxing as a whole. You know, he
was promoted in a light to where everybody jumped on
(27:26):
the bandwagon and everybody followed on and things like that.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
But definitely.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
So people didn't look at the detail, like why do
I feel like he's going to beat this guy? People
didn't look at it. And I just aw every person
that I felt that was man enough to tell me
I think he going beat I'm like, why why do
you think that? Like I never get mad over somebody's opinion.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
You know, why is that? Because most people are getting
pissed the.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
F off because everybody got opinion. That's just like if
I play basketball and somebody was like, oh, man, I
think such such team gonna be dripped, Like, oh that's cool,
we'll see you know, and then you're gonna have shit
on your face when you lose, when you when you
was wrong about your opinion. But at the same time,
I just tell me, why why did you think that way?
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Did you think he was gonna win in such of
course commanded?
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Of course that was different. Man, I'm gon watching boxing
a long time. That was a different That was different.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Bro, Go to the first twenty sixteen when I first
came to the division, just twenty sixteen, when I first
started talking about it. He's the boogey man. I want
to fight the boogeyman. I want to fight the Keith
Thurmans and Danny Garcias. I want to fight all of them,
(28:48):
you know. And then when the fights start getting momentum
and people start talking about it, It's not going to
be a fight that y'all think it is. I've been
saying that for years, for years before the accident. Before
that when we bet, when he said bet one hundred thousand,
I said bet a million because I was that much
(29:09):
confidence than him that I was gonna, you know, do
what I do.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
What makes you since you were tired, now, so you
can explain what makes you so confident in such a
greater fighter?
Speaker 5 (29:22):
What did you know? What did you see?
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Styles? See? I've been watching him since he was in
the amateurs, you know, and I knew that my style
and his style. My style was just more superior, you
know he was he was more flat footed, he was
more come straightforward, he was more telegraphing with his shots,
(29:47):
and I just knew my style was a bad matchup
for him.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
And people say that, you know, your big fights came
later on your career, but when you got to the division,
when you beat Jeff horn Right to become waltweight champ,
I wanted those fights right away. So because you were
top ranked, was is it true that al Hamman kind
of iced you out where you couldn't get any of
those PBC fighters, Like that's what really happened. That's the
reason those fights didn't hapen. It's not because you didn't.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Want them, of course, man, everybody you know like, we're
not about to go over there and fight that dude,
but like for what?
Speaker 6 (30:20):
So I was protecting all of his water weight.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Like ou didn't want me to fight Spence. You didn't
want that fight, you know, but you know Spence wanted it.
I wanted it, and the fight had to happen, right,
The fight had to happen. But like you got, you
got all these fighters over here in your stable, and
(30:43):
you got two fighters over here in this stable. One
of those fighters goes to this stable with all these guys.
So now you're over there by yourself. We em gotta
fight him. We can round.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
Robing each other, all the money and honey in the.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
House and starve him over there. He ain't got it
do nothing with us over here. And that's how it was.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
The cream overs to the top.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
What did you think about that alleged audio of al
him and them talking about which sounded crazy what they
can do to the box and the amount of power
they have.
Speaker 6 (31:21):
Well, and now him is supposed audio. Did you did
you hear that? Man?
Speaker 2 (31:27):
I don't know if that was real or legio.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
Yeah, it wasn't confirmed to be real.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
I don't know. Yeah, that's why I said a lesson.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
Yeah, it sounds crazy, you do.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
I want to ask you about twenty twenty one when
you're fighting Sean Porter, right if that comes across my
timeline all the time, right, and you're sitting down in
the corner, and your team tells you that you lose it.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
And I don't remember you losing, so I had to
go look it up.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
But all the judges had you up on the scorecards.
Then you're going there and you finished Sean Porter in
the tenth Why did they tell you were losing?
Speaker 3 (31:58):
And what was your mindset when you heard that?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
They didn't tell me I was losing. I told them
they had me down because.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I thought one of somebody in the audience.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
Was it your core? Who was it?
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Nobody?
Speaker 6 (32:13):
Like you said, he wasn't looking at his people.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Two people, you know. I'm like, I'm chilling as you
can see. I'm like, what's up. They're like looking. I'm like, man,
what's they like?
Speaker 8 (32:27):
No?
Speaker 2 (32:29):
They like here he up? So I'm like hold up,
So I look he up. They're like, man, you gotta go.
I'm like he up. And they was like I'm like oh.
The first thing that came to mind was they trying
to rob me. They're trying to take it away from you.
So I'm like, man, you can't let them take it
(32:50):
away from you no matter what, Like go out there
and you know, go eat. So that was just my
mental either I'm about to get you where you're gonna
get me, but I'm about to step to you, and yeah,
step up the pace.
Speaker 7 (33:04):
Once you find out that that you were up in
the cars and you go back to that person like, yo,
why did you say that to about the person in
the audience that told him that he was down?
Speaker 2 (33:14):
No, because they don't know.
Speaker 6 (33:16):
Oh, it was just that I was watching score cards because.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
You know when you look at the broadcast and you
hear what they're talking about, and they didn't want it
to be a case where it was a close fight
and people can say, oh, man, you lost that fight
or that fight could have went either way, and you
have to face the critics and all that. So I
(33:44):
have conversations like, man, why do you say that they
played out the way it played out?
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Speaking of I guess my mindset is, so if you
know that you can go in and ring and do that.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
Always, if you could just go if you knew I could,
I could go take him out right now. You knock
him down twice in the time. Why didn't you just
do that much early?
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I don't know. I think I was just coasting and
that and that Sean Porter fight. See me like I
always had a problem with I want to hurt you,
you know, but I don't have no ill will to
hurt you. It's kind of hard, you know what I mean.
So I'm sitting up there, I'm just like, I'm in control.
(34:31):
I know I'm winning. But then when it's like they
trying to take it from you, then a different side
of me kick in. It's like, oh, yeah, we got it.
We gotta get it in.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
So if you're cool with Shan is a cool dude,
pops man cool. So when you're cool with people, you're like,
I can't. I don't want to go do them dirty.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
I don't. Yeah, I don't want to do your that's crazy.
That was cool. Like I was cool with Ray Bell Tron,
you know, I was cool with Sean. I was cool.
We'll image them off, you know. Canelo was cool and
then four fights that went to the distance.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
He asn't cool with Space No no no.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Men me and Spence's I respect him, but I won't
say we was cool, you know what I mean, Like
leading up to the fight, I won't say we was cool,
but we respect each other as man, as competitors and
things like that. But it was too much riding on
that fight. I'm like, man, I gotta do something to this.
Speaker 7 (35:32):
You know, you're the first fighter to really be honest
about that, like about being cool with a fighter and
liking them personally to the point where it does affect
you a little bit, like in wanting to hurt that person,
because fighters be like, nah, when the bell ring, all
that go out the window. But you still, like Sewan,
I know you, you always say, like showing the last dude,
I want to fight in the watway because I like
the dude, Like I don't really want to want to
(35:53):
hurt him. So you needed that motivation from the audience
to actually do what you did.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, man, we grew up together. Like god. I still
to this day, I always tell Sean I didn't want
to fight him really, yeah, Like I've never seen myself
fighting him because you know, when we grew up, I
was at one thirty two, he was at one sixty five.
Oh yeah he was you know what I mean. So
growing up in a professional game. It's like y'all never
(36:22):
was calling for me to fight Sean when he was
WBC champion. Nobody never said nothing about Terrence Crufford and
Sean Porter fight until he falls. Spence And I told him,
I said, man, they just trying to gauge you. You know,
they not really, They just using you as a piece
of meat to see you know how it's gonna turn out.
(36:43):
And praying and hoping and wishing that you beat me
and then you and Arrow can get y'all rematch. They
ain't gonna have it happen.
Speaker 7 (36:51):
Speaking of Arrow, like, I gotta ask you, his fight
was slated to be at one fifty eight against him Zu,
and ten days before the fight, I'm hearing that his
team records stick for the fight to be at one
sixty right? Is that a bad sign that he that
he's struggling to make weight? I mean it seems that way.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
It could be two things. He's been out the ring
for so long, his body just not reacting like it
normally would. And bad thing is that he ain't ready. No,
but I think he ready.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Do you think he wins that fight?
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Yeah? I gotta win it.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
I'm going going out there. Do you think he stops Simseu.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I don't know. I think both of them there's a
good fight for both of them in the stage of
their career right now. I think both of them can
hurt each other, and I think it's gonna be an
entertaining fight. But I think arrow skills should take him
to success in this.
Speaker 7 (37:54):
You think he could come back to be one of
the biggest names in the sport like he once was.
I mean, how many fights, Like let's say he washes
Tim Zu, does he have to win another big fight
to be considered like a big name in the sport again.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Because people writing.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
Them off, they're talking about the accident a lot of people.
Some people don't even give you credit for that win
because of the accident. But he won two fights. But
I'm saying no, I'm saying the accident came before. But
but he won two fights after the accident. He beat
who got saying Danny Garcia and nobody mentioned an accident.
Then they just started mentioning it after you beat him.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
It's gonna be like that. But if you look at
all my fights, you will see that there's always something.
It don't matter what it is It's all man, it's
because this guy is this guy is this guy? Alright? Cool?
So I came to the conclusion that there's gonna always
(38:54):
be something. So I just accepted before it even happened.
Before the Canelo fight, y'all, see what I said. I said,
I said everything that they're gonna say. Before the Spence fight,
I said everything that was gonna say. You know, I
start predicting everything that they're gonna say and preparing for
and it's like when they say, it's like you saying
(39:16):
everything that I knew you was gonna say before. I
could have pushed the fight Spence before he came back,
and then everybody was saying, all he came off of
accident when he fought, when he fought Danny Garcia, I said,
you're not ready yet. I went to Dallas to watch
(39:39):
him fight.
Speaker 6 (39:39):
Oh really, or you say he not ready for you?
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Yeah, I say he not ready. I said, let him,
you know, keep training and things like that. I got
into it with a couple of his friends and stuff
like that. We're going back and forth. I'm like, all right,
you know, let him fight again. So after the ooh
go fight, I'm like, all right now, it's time everybody say,
he looked at you, he's good, Let's fight. I don't
ever want to fight you at your your least best.
(40:05):
I want to fight you at the best.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
What advice do you give your court, because I feel
like your core has adopted a lot of your mindset,
especially when it comes to critics, because people say the
same thing about your court, like they'd be like, oh,
he's boring. You know, you don't have no knockout power,
but I think he's just a great, technically skilled boxer.
What advice do you give him about.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Just keep doing what you're doing or don't worry about
what everybody else talking about. They're gonna watch you anyway.
You know, you just that much talented and more superior
than the people that you in the ring with that
they're going to criticize you when you that much above
your competition, They're going to criticize you no matter what me.
(40:52):
I'm here and they feel like, oh everybody you feel
I thought is B level, C level fighters, But they
wasn't that when they was coming into the the ring
to fight me, right, But once I fight him and
I dismantled him, and the fashion that I do then
they say, oh, he wasn't that good. He went that good.
(41:15):
But before the fight, everybody was saying, all this dude
about to knock you out, this dude, this, this dude
too big, this dude, you know, too talented. But then
afterwards they like, man, that wasn't even no close fight.
So then they gotta criticize you of oh, man, he
ain't for nobody. His resume is this, his resume is that,
And it's like, okay, cool, Like, I don't knock what
(41:37):
you're saying.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
What do you think next fight should be?
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Who? I wouldn't see him in? Devin, I think I
think that's gonna be the fight.
Speaker 9 (41:51):
I thought that's how he signed the agreement to the fight, right.
Speaker 6 (41:54):
No, that it's how for boxing. But Devin supposed he's
gonna sign with them, so it seems like.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
It's gonna be. Listen, Devin Kishan, Devin Shakur, Devin Tank,
like Devin in a great spot right now. You know,
Devin got a lot of good options. Devin Ryan after him,
and rolely Devin Connor Band Like Devin got a lot
(42:22):
of opportunities right now, and so do all those guys
because they all can fight each other you know, so
I think that number of individuals they can rhynd Robin
except but everybody else.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
How do you think Ryan and kind of band just
got announced? Like, how do you think that fight plays out?
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Man? I think it's gonna be a better fight than
people think.
Speaker 6 (42:50):
People picking a lot, most people picking Ryn.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Yeah, because the skill level. You know, we know Connor
started boxing late. We know Connor get reckless, we know
Connor opens up. We know Ryan can catch you with
that speed and that power with the left left hook.
But what if he don't land the left hook. We
(43:13):
see what Rowley did, and Rowley didn't start boxing at
a young age, you know, And if Connor can take
the same approach that Roly did and not get hit
with the big shots, then we might see a different
fight than we we expected.
Speaker 7 (43:33):
Oh, Connor McGregor, You said, Connor, you guys went back
and forth. He claims that you will offer one hundred
million dollars to fight him.
Speaker 6 (43:40):
In the ring and for the cage and then in
the boxing ring. Right, that's what he said. What's your
take on what just happened to him in the cage?
Speaker 2 (43:50):
Nothing, that's just a freak accident. The injury you know,
you can't. You can't prepare for that, Like you go
throw a kick and you're getting injured without even landing anything.
That's that's just like when my my bro Steven, he
was sparing and he was bouncing and popped, he popped
(44:11):
his achille out of nowhere, know nothing, you know, So
you just can't prepare for things like that.
Speaker 6 (44:16):
People saying that he had the injury already, right, like.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
Nah, nah, if you injured, you ain't. You ain't bouncing
around and doing that stuff. But especially before the fight,
when him warming up and things like that, you're not
doing all that before you go out there, Like this
is just a freak accident that just haden.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
What did you think when you saw Shakur and Shannon
shop going back and forth? Were you yelling at the laptop?
Speaker 2 (44:42):
I was smiling. I was laughing because Schakor made his point,
you know, like Shannon wasn't getting it until he got it,
but then it was too late.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
It's like.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
You make it his point even stronger than you know
when he said it.
Speaker 3 (44:59):
So I can't tell you about boxing.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
I can't tell I can't tell noney all about boxing, right,
That's what y'all do for a living.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Yes, yes, And you know, like just because you older,
that don't mean you know you're smarter because you went
to college and you got all these degrees and you
don't got a degree in boxing. And I love Shannon,
you know what I mean? That's it's you know, but hey, you.
Speaker 8 (45:27):
Think should even like it seems like he don't care
no more, but should he even care about that narrative?
Speaker 9 (45:31):
Like at this point in his career, Like no.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
No, I always tell him keep doing what you're doing.
You know, they can't beat you. When they can't beat you,
they want to figure out any and everything to do
to make you fight how they want you to fight,
but they're not in the ring. The same way with Floyd,
all he do is run all that little pity pad
(45:55):
that sticking moved, Like no, like you mad because you
can't beat like you want me to give you the
opportunity to beat me by just standing in front of
you and trying to go socking boppers with each other.
So you criticize me on my technique and my style
(46:17):
because the people that you want to see, when the
people that you like can't beat me, it's just simple.
They can't beat me, They can't beat him, but he
almost did.
Speaker 6 (46:27):
With Peter, he kind of gave into what the people.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
He did, right, he was in the pocket fighting like
with a guy that was His volume was crazy, so
he gave in a little bit. Did you talk to
them after that fight?
Speaker 2 (46:40):
Yeah, we always start, But a part of that was
the pay too, though.
Speaker 6 (46:46):
Oh yeah, because he in front of you non stop,
you can't.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
It's like these fighters that y'all claim better than him
and he don't punch hard, right, well, why ain't nothing
one of them just blowing through them. Same way with Floyd.
He had that the same thing that Chakoor getting. Floyd
was getting. But you never see no fighters just blow
(47:12):
through them and just like, oh you don't hit that hard.
Let me just walk through everything and just try to
knock you out, Like.
Speaker 6 (47:18):
You don't see that?
Speaker 3 (47:19):
Can boxes of it and press critics?
Speaker 2 (47:22):
No, No.
Speaker 8 (47:24):
I think about Clarissa when we had this conversation, because
I know people argue all the time, and like, like
she didn't get the BT Spirts Women of the Year
award and people were like arguing that she shouldn't have
and she was listening or and like Pat was listening
like her accolades, but it seems like with her, some
of those big awards she don't get.
Speaker 9 (47:40):
But we know she's the best at what she does.
Like the critics that just love to throw that at her.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
Yeah, it's just you know, women boxing, they always say
there's not enough women boxers to make that strong point,
so they always try to move the goalpost of her accomplishments,
(48:06):
like she accomplished more in boxing than any boxer male
or female. Now you can say because it's not that
many women boxers in the world, and it's easier to
become undisputed, and it's easier. This is easier that, But
at the same time, she still did what she had
(48:28):
to do. It's not her fault. You know. She's a
four time undisputed for a different way class, you know,
two time Olympic gold medals, like one loss in her
whole career. Like man, the things that she's achieved in
the sport of boxing, like we may I don't think
(48:51):
we're gonna ever see that done again, you know, And
people need to appreciate her, you know, because she takes
their approach that every other athlete takes, and that's work, hard,
dedicated life and put it all on the table when
he beat.
Speaker 5 (49:12):
You know, earlier cham talked about Omaha and you lived
in Omaha. You said you never leave. And I remember
after you won and you had to parade, they pulled
you over. Did you ever think like I missed the Omaha?
Speaker 3 (49:24):
Like why a y'all fucking with me?
Speaker 5 (49:25):
Did you ever think that way at all?
Speaker 2 (49:26):
No? Not at all, not at all. I just felt like,
you know, the cop that pulled me over was just
you know, on this high horse that just wanted to
be known or I don't know, I don't know. I
felt like he was just trying to prove a point
because he was the only one like everybody else, all
(49:48):
the other officers is like, man, just calm down. But
I'm like, no, this dude, like who I beat your
ass fucking bad?
Speaker 5 (49:58):
But he knew that.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
But that's the but like it just it just pisses
me off when people use their authority and abuse it.
You know, it's like, you don't gotta do that. You
don't gotta talk to me crazy, you don't gotta treat
me a certain way, like come.
Speaker 6 (50:18):
On, man, he knew who you was.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
And wasn't something. Yes, hours after the parade, he claimed
he didn't know who I was, and he only knew
who I was after the altercation.
Speaker 6 (50:36):
That was after the party. But it didn't ruin. You're
not you still with someone else. I remember let that.
Speaker 9 (50:41):
But you gotta go through all that and then it's
like a seventy five dollars fine I.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
Saw or something like that. There you go, there you go.
And that's the way of saying that it was justified. Well,
you still did something wrong. All in all, he may
have been wrong, but we're gonna make it right because
you still broke.
Speaker 6 (50:59):
A law, like speak, did you pay that voc.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
It's like all that seventy five hours, like but.
Speaker 8 (51:07):
Your guarded I saw it still suing the suing Omaha
and the police department and stuff like that for violating
the constitutional rights they did.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Like what was the need to bring everybody out the
car handcuffing? What do they do? They didn't do nothing?
Speaker 9 (51:25):
Were you guys held that It wasn't that gun point
for thirty minutes. It was thirty minutes.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
I was held at god point. But it's like all
in all, okay, you got me. You know, you said
you see my gun, But what you didn't you know?
We told you that we had his gun. Is it's viewable,
it's on his chest. I told you I had a
(51:49):
gun in the car, Then you go crazy, Cool, it's
not illegal for me to have guns. You know, I
got a lot of guns. But at the same time,
y'all didn't even have a protocol on how y'all react
to people with guns. So your thing was to pull
(52:11):
your gun because you felt threatened. But why, I'm not
in toxic kden I'm not belligerent or anything. You told
him you had a firearm, and like, like, what part
of me is making you feel threatened. I'm not moving
no kind of way to make you feel like I'm
(52:31):
reaching for a gun or anything. So I just didn't
understand that. You know, why was I getting a gun
pointed in my face?
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Well, I want to ask one more questions. Did you
retire because there really was nothing else for you to do?
Because you said you knew you was gonna retire after Canelo,
and then when you announced retirement, people say, nah, you
shouldn't retire yet, But nothing they said really made sense,
Like did you really retire because you looked at the
landscape and You're like, there's nothing else for me to do.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
So if you look at when I retired, I retired
after uh, what's his name? I one sixty?
Speaker 6 (53:12):
Who's that one sixty?
Speaker 2 (53:13):
He was supposed to fight. He was supposed to fight
my boy from Dominican one sixty.
Speaker 6 (53:21):
He was Domas Carlos. He's supposed to.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Fart fight a Dominas Jennebeck. Oh, okay, So if you
look at the landscape of boxing, right you would say, okay,
I'm gonna ask you who would I thought.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
None of the stuff they said made sense. They're talking
about ben Vida, then I heard it.
Speaker 6 (53:41):
Heavyweight.
Speaker 1 (53:44):
Then I started jenibate things. Then they were saying Boots okay,
none of that made sense to me. And then a
Canelo remagical okay, so.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
Canelo that was off the table. You know there was
no rematch cause nobody said anything about Canelo. Still to
this day, nobody have said nothing about Canelo.
Speaker 6 (54:04):
But would you for him if if the rematch of present.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
If it was, if the rematch clause was in the
in the contract, then I would have honored that just
off of who I am. Boots wasn't nowhere in the
in the word roam of us fighting because it just
didn't make sense. Jane back, Like, what would I get
(54:29):
out of fighting boots? Paying it for?
Speaker 3 (54:34):
That's really like literally, because that's.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
What I always ask people, what would I get? He
ain't no champion, Like what would I get? Like, Oh,
you bought you beat the young Lion, that's it. That's it.
So every fight that I thought since two thy fourteen
being for something, every single fight, either I'm the de
(55:00):
fending my title or I'm going to conquer another division
for a title, undisputed everything. So I looked at the
landscape of everything and I said, okay, Canelo, I'm gonna
go one sixty eight boom. Then after that, then what
(55:20):
Jannebek was supposed to fight Carlos adamis for his fight
his belt. Jannebek had two belts, Carlos had one. That
would have been three belts on the line. Whoever would
have won that would have fought for the other belt
that would have been undisputed. And I won sixty I said,
(55:40):
all right, cool, after Canelo be Canelo, and I'm gonna
see what they do down here. So then it came
out that Jennebek was on performance enhancement, so you know
that fight got canceled. I don't know if they did
(56:01):
they strip them for a title. I think they stripped
them for a title.
Speaker 7 (56:04):
So it's like, all right, So the only way you
would have came back, if everybody would have some one
person would have came became undisputed at one sixty and
you would have fought one more fight to be on
distributed in the fifth fourth division.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
So I was just like, man, this really ain't nothing
for me to do. No more like that would have been.
I'm I'm into making history, making legacy fights. You know,
that would have been a historical legacy fight. Oh man,
this guy come from one thirty five to one sixty
eight then come back down to one sixty again. Yeah wow,
(56:45):
coming off the Canelo fight and becoming undisputed.
Speaker 6 (56:49):
But it didn't pay out like that.
Speaker 2 (56:51):
It didn't so well.
Speaker 5 (56:52):
Congratulations and enjoy retirement.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
Brother. That's right.
Speaker 5 (56:55):
It's Terrence Budder Crawford. We appreciate you for joining us.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
I do I guess one more?
Speaker 1 (57:03):
Do you do you think boxing was your purpose or
was it simply the vehicle to get you to your purpose?
Speaker 3 (57:08):
Do you even know what you think what your purpose is?
Speaker 2 (57:11):
I think two things, because I always say I was
born a fighter, you know, and I think boxing was
part of my purpose. But I think my purpose is,
you know, giving back to the community and and the
and the kids and the youth. I think that's my purpose.
Speaker 5 (57:33):
M hmm, well, thank you again. It's Terrence Bud Crawford.
