Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm a homegrown that knows a little bit about everything
and everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
You know, if you don't lie about that, right, Lauren
can Hey, y'all, what's up.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
It's Lauren l Rosa and this is another episode of
The Latest with Laura l Rosa. This is your daily
dig on all things pop culture, entertainment, news, and all
of the conversations that shake the room. Baby.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Now, we have not.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Checked in behind the Scenes of the Grind in some time, y'all.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I've literally been grinding, and that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
The reason why I created the behind the Scenes of
the Grind segment here on The Latest with Lauren Rosa
the podcast is because I don't take the time I
should to just sit down and check in with myself,
especially not in this you know, new level of things
that is happening, and you know, and I know that
God has so much more story for me. So I
wanted to make a practice of getting better at doing that.
And why not do it while at work, because I'm

(00:54):
complaining and saying I don't do it because I'll be
at work.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
So let's check it behind the scenes of the Grind.
Let's get it.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So last week we were at the Roots Picnic. Oh
my god, I had such an amazing time there. You
guys have been able to hear all of the amazing
audio exclusively first from some of my interviews at the
Roots Picnic, So thank you guys for tuning into that.
If you missed it, please go back and check out
our previous episodes includes exclusive interviews from t I Ka,

(01:24):
Lani Draymond Green, all of the people and all of
the things, because you know, that's what we do here
at the Latetus with Lauren Rosa. But I was tired
leaving Philly and leaving the Roots Picnic. Like we partied,
We sang songs, we concerted.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I don't know concerted is a word. We went to
We went to the concert.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
We was there, We was we was in the stands,
we was doing the things. We got to see jay Z,
which was a monumental moment, like a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Times when these things we happen.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And I literally one thing I will take the time
to stop for is to realize, Yo, this is gonna
be history, and I'm here in real life witnessing it
and begetting.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
To rep on it.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
So yes, I finally caught out with myself a bit
and got some rest just a bit. I've been stealing
little moments of rest and that's what I want to
tell you guys, And that's behind the scenes of the
grind check in is it's okay to do that, even
if you can't schedule a full day, a full hour, whatever,
schedule on little pockets. Okay, get you your twenty thirty
minutes when you need it until your body feels rejuvenated.

(02:23):
My body was screaming at me after the Roots Picnic
and then coming back from the Roots Picnic literally the
evening before we as the Breakfast Club went live on
Netflix as Netflix's first daily live show the beginning of
the week was also screaming at me too, Like my
body was like, girl, what are you doing? So I

(02:44):
had to tell myself, Girl, still them little moments of joy. Okay,
go to bed a little bit earlier. The world is
not gonna fall apart. The timeline, the news and the
exclusives and the updates will not fall apart either.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
But I'm good now.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
If you guys cannot tell in my voice, I'm sounding
better because my body is reached, charged a bit more
and stronger, and I plan to get some little more
Pockets of Joy and in rest this weekend coming up.
So that's where I've been in with it. But let's
get into the latest because there's literally things happening right
now as we speak. So Cardi B And Lotto they've

(03:17):
had I don't even want to call it a beef
because I love these two girls separately as artists, and
I think that they are both so cute. I love,
you know, everything about them, the way they brand themselves,
their fashion, their personalities, and meeting it in them both
in person just even in person, they were amazing and
a joy to speak to and to interview and to
be in company with.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
But they had a little little hiccup.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
So Cardi Buh, you know, had been going back and
forth with another rapper, Ice Spice about some lines thrown
on songs and just a little jabs and different things
that Cardi believed that we're taken by rapper Ice Spice.
Now when all of this happened, Ice Spice dropped this
song called BBL Belt.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Now.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
In this song BBL Belt, Ice Spice talks about someone
falling off her, taking someone's place, someone getting a ton
of plastic surgery, and and Cardi B felt like This
was directly to her.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Cardi B then proceeds to call Ice Spices team and
go off.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
And this is where a Lotto and their little hiccup
comes into it. Let's take a listen to Cardi B
screaming at Ice Spicy.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
What what? What she said?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Why you want to add dumb? Why do you want
to add dumb? You don't know. I'm gonna sell, y'all,
I'm not little. I'm gonna be mother fuck up. I'm
gonna knock hell the fuck out, are y'all.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I'm gonna beat her as I'm gonna get buy a
beat up by my niggas.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Y'all, letna see what the fuck is up?

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Then, I don't know. I don't gotta tell y'all said this,
he said, because y'all.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Know exactly what the fuck they said on.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
The right now, right now, now, let me tell y'all
the tie line of this right. So, this audio comes
out in September twenty twenty five, right literally within days
of this audio. A few days prior to this, Cardi
B and Lotto had just dropped a remix to Cardi
B song Every Time. So we as people who were

(05:20):
just enjoying the music and you know, like Cardi B
and Lotto have been on songs together that it's a
cute link up whenever they get together.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
We were all confused, like, wait, what happened? We thought
y'all was good. Well, Lotto felt the same way.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Lotto released her project Big Mama this week and she
threw some lines out that fans grabbed and said, hey,
I think she's talking about Cardi B. So in on
that Lotto is talking about someone buying her a bag
and saying basically like girl, my man, do that. I'm
good because after that audio leaks of Cardi B screaming
at the phone at Ice Spice's team and bringing lot

(05:59):
of into it. Carti then publicly tweeted and said, look,
because that was public, I'm a publicly apologize, and she said,
you know, and I'm a privately go buy her bag,
like trying to make amends with everything. And then you
hear Lotto's response, Lotto and that line says.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
I don't want no bag. She said, what I don't
want no bag? I'm cool.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
So obviously we knew, as you know, listeners and people
that have been watching what's going on at this was
a response to Carti Now, Lotto came on the Breakfast
Club and we talked to her about this and we clear.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
We to clear it up.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
We went to number one, were you even talking to Carti?
And here's what Lottle had to say.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Yeah, it was about Sarty, like we were saying earlier,
like I rap about what's going on in my life
at the moment. At the time, I was well. First
of all, I made this album over nine months. I
made the album while I was pregnant, and yeah, I
was at an early stage of my pregnancy, and I

(06:54):
rushed to the studio to do this verse for her
in time for the first week sales whatever and for
every time, Yeah, for airtime remix, and literally like two
days later, I'm seeing all over the internet I'm being
called pussy, I'm I'm pregnant.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Emotions high, like yeah, and it's.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Someone I did as looked at as a friend, like
I understand this, you know, industry ship first too, But
we was on a texting basis, so I feel like, yeah,
you tweeted to the world, but we got each other number.
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Also, I never talked personally after that around that.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
So then like uh, probably like two months later or something,
like that she did text me, but by that time,
I'm like, that ain't even my dad, ain't even like
I'm not even thinking about that a nomore.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
You know what I'm saying, Have you spoke?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I don't also clarify the fact that she's She says
that wasn't a disc Now, Carti b saw our interview
on the Breakfast Club and she has just responded to Lotto.
She says, I truly understand how you feel, and that's
exactly why I chose to apologize publicly because the disrespect
became public on that call. I didn't even mean to

(08:17):
call you that. I didn't mean any harm. There's a
difference in what I said versus what I meant. What
I could have said was you was too forgiving and
gave too much mercy in that situation. But it was
a heated conversation. I let my mouth get the best
of me when the call came out. I was eight
months pregnant, had just released my album and was extremely
overwhelmed and emotional. That's not to excuse what I said,

(08:38):
but to let you know where I was in my head.
And the reason why Carti is saying that is because
you know she's saying, you know, she overreacted. She was emotional,
and lot Or brought up the fact that, like this
kind of hit her deep because she thought Cardi was
really her friend, but also she was pregnant and dealing
with that as well too. She Cardi b continues, I
genuinely felt bad about what happened in twenty twenty five

(08:59):
and twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I mean multiple attempts to connect.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
I spoke with your manager, your sister, and even text
you directly to take full responsibility. I always had love
and respect for you. I always wanted to make it right,
but making it right looks different for the both of us.
I wanted to connect with you, but you wanted to
address it on your album.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Lotto says in her response that she is open to
reconciling with Cardi.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Let's take a listen. Would you be open to the
conversation or you just.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Yeah, yeah, I'm open to the conversation or when I
don't know, because I got I got a baby, now
some most shit like I got life, life that kept moving,
but yeah I made that like when the people just
now hearing that song, but like I made that song
when that was a topic in my life. That's yeah,
it wasn't no this like it was. That's just what

(09:49):
was happening in my life. Like you're talking about it
being my bad, which one nigga do that? Like I
don't need no damn bad. That's that's just where I
was in life. I don't, Yeah, it is what it is.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
And then not to make up for calling me plus
even like I don't want to be.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah, especially in a change for that, Like I don't
know that it just left a bad taste in my mouth.
So I just like I was in the booth and
that just what was happening. And then I just say
it what was happening, and then you know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
And I mean I even said this on the Breakfast
Club after we talked about you know that moment, and
I saw it picking up online that because you know,
the conversation in the room was like, I hope these
girls can get through, and I'm like, I think they will.
Like Cardi B Is not a girl that's just out
here wanting to have issues with people, Lotto is a
girl's girl. Cardi is a girl's girl, and we love
to see them together. I think it will happen, and

(10:35):
when it does, I will bring you guys the update, hopefully,
as if they might want to keep this on private,
because when everything got public gets public in.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
This situation, it gets misconstrued.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
And it's unfortunate because when when rappers go at each
other on the female wrap side, it's never it's just
so different. People look at it as talent and art
and competition when it's the men. When it's women, they
try to say that the women are caddy or they
need to use each other for rollout and all these things.
But it's not the same conversation when it's men. So

(11:04):
it's like, I'm glad to see that this is happening
because I think it will get them to a point
of reconciliation and we want that they make damn good
music together.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
But you hate to.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
See it be public because the narrative around women when
they do go back and forth with each other in
the rap game, it's just so different and sometimes it's
hard to get away from. So I'm wishing them the best,
and again, if there are any updates exclusively, I will
bring those bring those to you guys. And speaking of
making up a reconciliation, the paparizing and car Stefan Diggs

(11:35):
out talking about Cardi B and whether or not they
are together.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Let's take a listen, Stepan, are you.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
And Cardi together? Are you guys back together? Are you
how are you doing it? I just want the world
wants to know if you guys are back together.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
It's a beautiful mother, Chlse's mother. I love her to death.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
You're assembly you have to ask them. I have to
ask her. What about from your perspective because the argument
blew up online and people are wondering if you're back together?
When you guys were outside of the.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Gym, oh, I don't even.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Think that was arguing.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
You ain't see me like you seem cool? She didn't.
It's okay, I'm gonna get like that sometime. But so
you guys are.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
The video Stephan Dias is referring to is a video
that went viral some months ago. It was right after
the mother's daytime. Cardi B and Stephan were like at
a gym and like at like a it was like
a they were in like a complex. So it's like
a gym there like a little tea coffee spot. I
would play the audio for you guys. But the fan
who filmed it, it was so far away you can't

(12:40):
hear anything, you just see them. So Cardi b Is
going off on Stephanie and girl. I feel it because
I've been there a child. But stephan Dicks is very
calm in the video. He literally doesn't move, He barely
says anything, so that's what he's referring to. So, I mean,
it looks like everybody here is reconciliation on the table

(13:00):
for everybody, and we love to see it. I mean again,
I think sometimes it's like it's unfortunate that these things
get so public because when they do, then it it
spirals out of control. But I think all parties involved
understand that, so there will be more.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
I'm Laura l Rosa. This has been another episode of
the Latest with Laura l. Rosa, your daily dig on
all things pop culture, entertainment, news, and all of the

Speaker 2 (13:26):

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I tell you, guys, every episode, y'all could be anywhere
with anybody talking about all these things.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
WHI y'all choose to be right here with me, my lowriders.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
I appreciate you guys so much, and I'll catch you
