Sean is joined by Sage Steele for a wide-ranging discussion about transgender athletes competing in women’s sports and the controversy surrounding WNBA player Sophie Cunningham’s public stance on the issue. Steele reflects on her own experience at ESPN, the consequences she faced for speaking publicly about controversial issues, and why she believes athletes should defend women’s sports. Sean and Sage also discuss Caitlin Clark, WNBA players and coaches, and the biological differences between male and female athletes. Later, callers share personal stories about COVID-era policies and vaccines, while Sean discusses government accountability and public trust. The hour concludes with a warning about the growing Democratic Socialist agenda ahead of the midterm elections.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Round up in Information Overload Hour. Here's our toll free
telephone number this Friday. It is eight hundred and nine
toy four one sean if you want to be a
part of the program. Sophie Cunningham making these statements as
one of the best players this year in the WNBA.
She's on the Indiana Fever. She plays with Caitlin Clark,

(00:20):
and she just stood up for girls in women's sports
and not having biological men in locker rooms who are
playing these sports games, you know, playing against women. There
are physical differences between men and women. It's simple biology.
You know, there are exceptions, but in most cases, men

(00:41):
are physically stronger than women. I mean, I found it
really smart and clever and interesting that Clay Travis, my
Fox colleague, actually came out with a great idea and
he's offering ten million dollars to last year's WNBA championship
team to play a boys' heist school team of his
choice for a ten million dollar prize that he's putting up.

(01:05):
And he's getting nothing but crickets from the team and
from the WNBA. So all Sophie Cunningham then, which she
was asked again, you know, does she stand by her position.
She said yes, unapologetically, and you know she's been getting
you know, some support and then getting some booze in
different stadiums. That she goes to the Fever out of Indiana,

(01:26):
that Sophie Cunningham's team was playing the Minnesota Links. That
coach comes out with a shirt that game. Her name
is Cheryl Reeves and it says trans kids Belong. I'm like, oh,
you want to start a fight with Sophie Cunningham. I
see where this is going. Not a difficult thing to
pick out here. Now, then you have Gabby Williams Golden

(01:49):
State plays with Golden State and the players supporting trans women,
it playing in the NBA. WNBA has no problem letting
this point of view out.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I think it's trans rights right now is our new battle.
That's what I think that I was saying that, like
the battles have changed, you know, like our attentions in
the same, but now that the environment has changed, we
see trans people's rights being you know, stripped away from them.
There's a lot of disco discourse around trans athletes and.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Where they can compete in.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
I would welcome a transathlete on my team or against
my team anytime. I don't think it's a problem in
the world. It's just another way to kind of attack
trans people. You know, we've seen We've seen players like
Laser Tarendon who stepped into that for front and have
been brave enough and grgeous enough to kind of a
step up. So I guess that's the next battle that

(02:37):
we have to fight as athletes.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Then you have another Golden State team member, Natalie Na Case,
and she's saying the same thing.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Listen, it's like for Mets. Sports is about belonging. It's
about inclusivity. It's about allowing everyone to be their authentic self.
You know, I'm big on that, just because I have
been criticize for my height, for my ethnicity. I've been
in those you shouldn't belong here many times, and for me,

(03:09):
I don't want that space, especially Golden State, to ever
feel like that. So I'm all about women, little girls
deserving to play, and that includes trans women. So I'm
all about inclusivity.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
All about inclusivity anyway, joining us now a friend of
the program. She has one of the best podcasts out there.
In my humble opinion, I've been a guest on she
by the way. She's brutal. She is so hard. She
just comes at you and never stops and makes you
say stuff that you'd never planned on saying. Our friend's

(03:43):
Sage Steele is back of the Sage Steel Show. What
did you get me to sit down for five hours
and are straight? It was crazy?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
It was and it was only two hours, and it's like,
oh wait, that's going to work. Sean had a big
show to do. I think I've heard of it before.
It was so much fun and I'm forever grateful.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
It was fun. You and your husband are two of
the nicest people I've ever met.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Thank you. You are the best. It was really really
awesome for me, So thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
So there's a great story behind Sage Steal, her husband
and me, and that is that Sage what was doing
my podcast when it was just on Fox Nation. Now
it's everywhere, And she was gracious enough to come and
be a guest on the show. And you can just
tell when a couple has whatever that sparked that magic

(04:32):
that they kind of belonged together thing going on. And
I sensed that with them, and of course I can't
keep my big mouth shut and I said it to
them Anyway, At one point, Sage went to the bathroom
and I'm talking to her now husband, and he tells
me that he's going to propose the next day. Isn't

(04:53):
that a cool story? I love that story.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
The fact that.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Sean Hannity, the Shawn Hannity.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
And I idled for so many years, knew that I
was getting engaged before anybody, anybody.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Literally like for you, that was the best part.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Well, yes, before it definitely before me. And it did
happen the next day, twenty four hours later, and I
said yes before he could even finish asking the question.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I love that story. For those that don't know your background,
you had a lot of success for many many years
on ESPN, and you were willing to stand up on
two issues. One was the mandated shot ESPN owned by
you know, Woke Disney, and on the issue of men

(05:43):
and women's sports, and you know it didn't end well
for you. But I think on both issues, especially lately,
I think you have been proven to be way ahead
of your time and very bold and courageous. You paid
a personal price in terms of your career. Thank god.
Now you're doing great on your own show and you're
in charge of everything, so you can say whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, I had heard that that world existed, but I
didn't really believe it. It's true. So for those of
you who are afraid of cancelation, don't be afraid. It
might be the best thing that ever happens to you.
I'll say this, Yes, those two issues did. It was
the beginning of the end of my career and I
do Disney. And do you know how often, Sean I

(06:26):
sit back, literally daily and think what if? What if
I had stayed quiet, to keep it safe, to not
tick anybody off, to keep getting that paycheck. Like I
understand why people stay silent, but for me align with
cross and certainly with getting forced to get the shot
to keep my job or I'd be fired. I mean insanity.

(06:48):
And we see how all that has played out. But
with this issue with men and women's sports, it is
the stupidest issue. The fact that we've had to spend
so much time on this is complete and utter insanity.
I never questioned whether or not I was right about
that one, because it's obvious. What I've questioned is the
sanity of the people on the other side of this,

(07:09):
whether it's Democrats who are choosing to do nothing about
this actually quite the opposite of what they should be doing,
or the Megan Repinos of the world to have conveniently
waited until their illustrious careers came to an end to
then say no, I believe trans women are women and
they should play too. Like if that had been the
case back when you were coming up, Megan, you would

(07:31):
never have been Megan Rapino. You would never have gotten
out of your fresh off of your freshman's soccer team
in high school. So the hypocrisy is sick. And I
now know and you know this about Misshan with my
three kids, we're all their twenties now, you know, I
guess they're always kids, right, But I mean I annoyed
them with sayings stand up for what you believe in.
And I know it's scary, but when you know something

(07:54):
is wrong, you're making a choice to stay silent. And
it is so much bigger than you. That's what I
have to tell myself, Like, this is bigger than me,
and God gave me this platform for who knows how
long it could be gone tomorrow, but you're darn right,
I'm going to speak up on things that are wrong,
and especially when it comes to women's sports when I
have been such a proponent throughout my thirty year sports career.
ESPN was two and then they got woke and I

(08:16):
refuse to let these girls fight alone.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Well, God bless you for what do you think of
Clay Travis's proposal ten million dollars last year's championship team.
I believe it was Vegas and ten million dollars and
he gets to pick a boys high school team to
play the WNBA championship team. If you had to bet
on that, off the top of your head, where would

(08:40):
you go?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I will say that Becky Hammond, who was the head
coach of Las Vegas Aces, the defending champions, one of
my dear friends love her like a sister. I absolutely
love her, and she's one hell of a coach with
one hell of a team with Asia Wilson, who's an MVP.
Awesome off up, It'd be a good game. It'd be

(09:02):
a good game. Sean. Here's the thing play.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I'm amazed at, Like how they're ten feet behind the
three point line and that's Caitlyn Clark and Sophie and others,
and how they could hit ten in a row. I mean,
these people are unbelievably talented.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
They absolutely are, and there's a reason why Caitlyn Clark,
Sophie Cunningham, Asiel Wilson, Chelsea Mitchell. We can go down
the line, you know, through bird back in the day.
There's a reason why they weren't in the NBA. There's
a reason why this is only going in one direction
not the other. There are no women trying to I mean,
they could have, right, but instead they realized, yeah, we

(09:42):
can't hang with men, and there's nothing wrong with that.
God made it beautiful.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Well, let me ask you more, let me dig it
a little deeper. Do you think there's any w NBA
player that could make an NBA team?

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Zero chance?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
What's zero chance?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Okay?

Speaker 7 (09:56):
Zero?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
We're talking about high school And remember the experiment. I
guess they thought it was I don't know if it
was for charity, whatever it was. But when the US
women's national team soccer team with Rapino on it played
a fourteen and under team, a high school team from
Texas soccer team and they lost. The women's national team
the best we have lost to the men's freshman high
school team in Texas. Like it's legitimate and there's no

(10:20):
shame in that again, we are different and have been
from day one. We let's celebrate those differences, celebrate the WNBA.
But the fact that these women who are only there,
only benefiting by the way that there's a collective bargaining
agreement went through. They got on average about three hundred
and twenty five percent raises Everything's different thanks to Caitlin

(10:43):
Clark and many other people. But the term with Caitlyn
has been incredible. But all of these women who benefited
from Title nine would not be in this position without
Title nine are now abandoning it and are not putting
that ladder out for everybody else to climb up and
join them. So it makes me angry. And there are
all the exact women who claim that acceptance and tolerance

(11:07):
and love is how we need to lead, And what
are we doing now? By the way, how about Cyril Reeves,
the Minnesota Links head coach who wore that trans Kids
Belong t shirt the other day and the game against
the Fever, Sweetheart, We're not talking about trans kids belonging anywhere.
We're talking about biological men, grown men, trying to come

(11:29):
into your league. So I don't think they're stupid. I
think they're intentionally doing this knowing that most people leave
us their feelings instead of the fact.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
All right, quick break more with my friend than podcast.
Our host of the Sage Steel Show. Sage Steel is
with us. We'll get to your calls coming up the
final half hour of the program today, toll free. It
is eight hundred and nine foot one Sean. If you
want to be a part of the program. All right,
on this Friday, let's get to our phones. Tiffany is
in my free state of Florida. Tiffany, how are you

(12:02):
glad you called?

Speaker 6 (12:04):
Hey son? Thank you thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
So upset about this spouchy thing. You know, my father
he took the shot and when he got his first booster,
his legs swelled up so bad. He has postolio syndrome.
He's now eighty five, and he took the first booster,
his bad legs swelled up, never regained again. He cannot
walk anymore, he cannot feel his legs. It's just been

(12:32):
awful and I would love for vouch you to see
my father, you know, just struggling every day just to
get out of bed and get onto it and try
to live normal life. It's awful.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
You know, I'm listening to this story about your dad.
I know many people like your dad that have had
you know, you know, lasting impact from taking this experimental shot.
The creator of the technology, I've been saying this all week,
doctor Robert Malone, said it was not ready, it was
not perfected. And however, he said, I can understand using

(13:09):
the m RNA technology in this sense because it was
COVID was impacting older people. That's why putting masks and
taking kids out of school was so dumb, and it
was ridiculous, it was insane. And you know, and then
I know all these athletes, for example, the issue of
myocarditis became a huge issue, not just for athletes but

(13:31):
for other people too. But you know, high performing athletes
really suffered, people like your dad really suffered. And it
wasn't look I know, it was a perilous time, but
nobody wanted to talk about natural immunity. We were absolutely
being lied to about the origins of COVID. Then this
this ego maniac narcissist we find out from these diary

(13:53):
entries Anthony Fauci and the emails that were revealed by
Ram Paul and went over these in great detail last night.
You know where he knew. They knew, you know, please
erase this email after you read it. They knew that
this likely came from the lab and wuhan that by
the way, ni Age money helped fund by giving money

(14:14):
to the Ego Health Alliance. Are doctors giving your dad
any hope that he might be able to recover from
this condition.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
No, As a matter of fact, he was in Florida.
He's a snowbird. He was in Florida when he took
the shot and the booster. But his doctor back in
Michigan was on one of those advisory boards and he
advised him to take the shot. My brother and I
refused to take that shot. So no, you know, he
got postfolio. They kind of just give up, and it's

(14:44):
just part of it, and it's just, you know, he's
hurt our whole family.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Fauci said, I wasn't going to take an experimental shot,
and I didn't. Now I got either. I got the
first strain of COVID, which was really the worst, the
alpha strain, and then it was beta that it was omicron.
It was a delta. I mean, a whole bunch of them,
you know, I don't fault people, you know, based on
the limited knowledge. We were in a really tough spot.

(15:11):
So I'm willing to give a little bit of grace
to some people, but I'm not willing to give grace
to a lot of the horrific decisions shutdowns, h denying
children in person learning when it wasn't impacting kids, masks, mandates,
ruining people's businesses. And meanwhile, you know, guys like fauci Are,

(15:31):
you know, having these dinners with prominent media pa personalities
like you know, fake Jake or you know, No Show
Governor Newsom, you know, showing up at the French laundry,
and the rest of the state is shut down. His
kids have in person learning because they go to a
private school. Every other kid in California that does not
have in person learning. It's just it's so so hypocritical.

(15:55):
It's just sad. And you know, we're now in the
midst of a big debate about the future of the
country and those that want the Green New Deal, and
that means pretty much government guaranteed everything. I mean, you
run through the lists, I don't think I can do
it enough. You know, guaranteed government income, guaranteed government job,

(16:15):
guaranteed government healthy food, guaranteed government housing, guaranteed childcare, guaranteed
government grocery stores. And it goes on and on, and
you know, meanwhile, this is the government in its typical form, failing, spectacular, spectacular, lee,
you know, just like government schools suck, just like so

(16:38):
many other things suck. It's just unbelievable. And you know,
this is one of these examples. Nobody should ever trust
the government. I don't trust these people. You know you
have to do and then I got excoriated too, But
not telling people what to do with their body insane, Tiffany.
We do appreciate you. Thank you. Eight hundred nine four

(17:00):
on Shawna's our number if you want to be a
part of the program. All right, back to our busy phones.
Let's go to Texas. God bless Texas. Robert is next,
Robert Happy. I'm sorry, Rob Happy. Friday. Glad you called?

Speaker 7 (17:13):
All right, Thank you, Sean. I listened to you a lot.
It's the first time. Thank you, long time listener.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Glad you, glad you you were, glad you joined us,
Glad you could be will us. What's on your mind
this Friday?

Speaker 7 (17:25):
Thank you? It's it's these SDA guys, especially that gentleman
you had on the night before last where he wanted
to blame the police and the KKK for his is
his belief. And I really think we should bring up
that the KKK was an arm of the Democrat Party

(17:49):
formed in order to keep blacks from voting, as were
the Jim Crow laws, And I think we really need
to throw that back in their face every time.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Oh, I'll give you, I'll give you quick history, because
I mean, I think this is important. You know, if
you go back and look at the Voting Rights Act
of the Civil Rights Actor sixty four, the Voting Rights
Actor sixty five, Lyndon Johnson's president and he wants to
pass this legislation. You know, you have people like Martin

(18:20):
Luther King Junior, and so many brave people that were fighting,
you know, for this legislation. It was Democrats, It was
not Republicans that opposed that legislation. The guy filibustering it
was a guy by the name of Robert KKK Byrd.
Later in the seventies early seventies, he along with Joe Biden,

(18:43):
would would join forces to stop the integration of public schools.
They didn't want them to become am I right on this,
termlind the racial jungles, if I recall, and you know
it took Republicans to pass the Civil Rights Act and
voting right, sach. So, now the Party of Lincoln is
the Republican party. If you want to get more history

(19:06):
into this, right, yes.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Sir, I agree, and I really think we should. We
should get them their history doesn't right back in their
face when they try to tell us that the police
are no good because of.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
That, it's kind of sad. I give out this information
a lot, and you know, while this audience would be
familiar with it, a lot of people, you know, I'll
tell you this, kids are not taught this in government
schools where they're being indoctrinated. That's a shame you're not.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
Also at some point in time, maybe not today, I
don't know. I enjoy your interaction with Linda on words
and pronunciation.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Oh would you like me to entertain you on this?

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Right?

Speaker 1 (19:50):
I will be glad to help you. Want me to
entertain you right now?

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Go ahead, Linda is say talk radio.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
I feel like this is inappropriate.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
I thought we were friends, Rob, what happened?

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Can you sound?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
It's like here's the bus.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I'm going to back this up and go forward. Please
can you fulfill his request? These we have a listener request.
I do love our listeners.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
Talk radio.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
As it should be said coffee.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I've actually had a lot of did.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
You see the news from OZ today?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Two to three cups a day.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
It's going to keep you healthy.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Like I said, I have two cups a day. Now
say say coffee, coffee, that's say New.

Speaker 7 (20:34):
York hom homage, homage.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Honestly, that was probably one of our funniest skits ever,
to be perfectly frank with you.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Fact it's funny, say new York, New York. No, don't
say it fast a like you mean New York New York.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Island.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
We take a bus, Rob God bless Texas, my friend.
Thank you for checking in and we hope you have
a great weekend. Thank you. All right, let's get back
to our phones. Janet Arizona next, Sean Hannity Show. What's up, Janet?
How are you hi?

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Sean? Happy Friday. I'm so honored to talk to you.
I'm a longtime listener, first time caller. I originally thank
you talk about communism, but the COVID came up. And
I just wanted to mention one of the vaccines that's
rarely mentioned is the Johnson and Johnson. My sweet husband,
even though we talked about us as a family not
getting the job, he went and did it because he

(21:31):
didn't want to wear the mask anymore, and they told
him that was the only way it was going to
go away. Very shortsighted, he took the J and J
JAB and within a week he's got Parkinson's, so he
had to retire from the JAY.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
I have not heard a lot of negative stuff on
the JAY and J JAB. The JAY and J JAB
if my memory serves me, well, don't hold me one
hundred percent of it. But I'm ninety nine percent sure
was a traditional vavaccination. What does that mean? It was
a dead COVID coronavirus. I guess what do they use that?

(22:10):
What is the proper term for that? They use that
as the basis for making the vaccination the way they
make many other vaccinations. They use a dead virus because
the body will still react and create natural immunity. So
it was more to me in keeping with real science
than this experimental m RNA virus. And you only only

(22:31):
needed one shot. I know a lot of people that
opted for that, and I don't know anyone, so the
first time I've heard that people had a problem with
that one. Although you know, putting anything coronavirus in your body,
whether you catch it you know, or whether you know
you take it in any of the vaccines, it's just,
you know, it's not great for your body. I don't

(22:51):
like all these vaccinations at all.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
No, I mean either, I trust what God gave us
in our natural ability to heal and the retirement I
had planned. Now I just have to sit and watch
him shuffle around the house. There's no travel, there's no
anything that we had planned.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. It's such a shame.
And the doctors don't give him any hope.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Huh no, no, there's nothing. They just leave carbon don't
believe it. But let's increase or decrease your you know, medications.
There's not really much he can do. It's it's so sad.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
I know if I don't know if I have the
answer to this, but I would still, you know, figure
out a way to make him mobile. I don't care
if he's I don't care if he's in a wheelchair.
And you know, go out and try to do something
every day. You know, I think it's important. You sound
like a loving wife and a caring person. I would

(23:46):
just say, whatever you can do together would be time
well spent and you won't regret it. And obviously it's
not the quality of life you would hope for or
that he had hoped for. But I want you to
live life to the fullest. I want every everybody it'll
live life to the falls. Take you know, go down
to the beach, watch the waves, and I'll see God
in person, you know, I always I love beautiful sites

(24:10):
like that.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Yeah, we have gorgeous sunsets out their and arrows on.
It's a little toasty right now, so outdoor time is
very limited when it's one hundred and ten plus out here.
But real quick, I just wanted to comment about communism,
and I think what happens today is the younger kids,
you know, the millennials and whatever. They take things so
literally with their words and stuff. And my biggest problem

(24:33):
is socialism. I mean, if you talk to socialism to
these kids, they think, oh that's great. Everything's socialist, so awesome.
And you know, my dad was a World War two vet.
He was in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was
a voladeer gunner and we heard stories and we knew
what he was fighting. And I don't think they teach it.
I don't think these kids have a clue. I think

(24:54):
if they.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
They don't have a clue, they're not being taught it.
If anything, they're being indoctrinated into the leaving it. It's
even worse than that. I mean, that's how crazy things
have gotten. Janet Arizona, Listen, I hope you have a
great weekend. Please send my best regards and prayers to
your husband and that you guys, you know, have the
best life possible in spite of the obstacles you're facing. Okay,

(25:18):
thank you so.

Speaker 5 (25:18):
Much, John, I love you so much. Thank you for
everything that you do for our country.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
We love you, love you back. God bless you and
your family. Listen, you're so excited. You've been dreaming about
opening a business, and then the moment's coming and then
you find out, oh I got to get this insurance,
that insurance, this insurance, that insurance, meaning probably have to
deal with multiple agents and it's that becomes a bureaucratic nightmare,

(25:42):
kind of like dealing with the healthcare industry. All right,
that's going to wrap things up for today. It's getting fascinating.
Only eighty eight days till the most important midterm election
in your lifetime. As you talk to your friends and
your neighbors and co workers and whoever you may run into,
please remind them the DSA wants to eliminate the Senate,

(26:05):
the presidency, judiciary, amnesty for illegals, abolished, the borders abolished
I used to defund Department of War and all deportations,
eliminate cash ball, establishment wealth text, Cradle to grave, Green
New Deal, abolished prisons and police, and public ownership of corporations.
Now I will test you all on Monday. Have a
great weekend. Thank you for making the show possible, and

(26:26):
we'll see you back here.
