Lucas Santiago, a rising senior at Loyal and Marramount University in LA, joined us to share his incredible story of landing a role in the hit HBO series Euphoria. So, Lucas, I'm sitting there because I'm a big fan
of you four you and I was looking forward to
season three.

It took a while, and sure enough, there's the wedding scene.

There's Jacob Elori, and there's Sydney Sweeney walking down the aisle,
and you're in the front row sitting next to Zendaya.

How does this happen.

Lucas, Oh my gosh, absolutely insane. It was funny because
I wasn't even fully caught up.

With watching all of season three.

I was only on episode one and the episode drops
here in La and I start getting texts around like
six pms who were like, oh my god, it's like
I'm seeing you on my TV.

And I'm like, it's crazy.

But it was just one of those things that yeah, Like,
I'm an aspiring actor here in LA and you know,
background work here is a great way to make a
good buck.

And I signed on to this project. I didn't even
know it.

Was Euphoria until I like two days before got on
set and I had a friend of a friend that
was working on the set and they're like, Oh, if
I can help you out in anyway, we'll see what
we can do.

Next. Thing I know, I go from like the almost last.

Row of the wedding to sitting right behind vendeya Hunter
Schaeffer Alexa.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
To me, it was insane.

Trust me, Well, they obviously see something in you, right,
they moved you, right.

I hope, So, I hope.

So yeah, Well you didn't have any lines, right, No,
no lines, But it was it was one of those
things that I was sitting literally directly behind them, and
I was like, oh, like this will definitely get me
at least like, you know, a little glimpse of my
face for like a quick.

And then I'm.

Seeing the episode and it's like.

So did you have any communication with the Jacob or
Sydney or Zendeia or.

At first they have the stand ins come in of
like Zendeia and Hunter Schaeffer and Alexa, and then they
brought the real actors in and they were so so sweet.
They were the most like non celebrity celebrities I've ever met.
They were very nice and it was a really hot
day that day. I remember talking about like the heat
and the beautiful flowers or as far as Jacob, Elori

and Sydney, I didn't get to talk to them directly,
but yeah, wow, they looked amazing. Like it's literally like
getting popped directly into one of these episodes.

I felt like I was in the world for you.
It was crazy.

Now, Lucas, were you in the area at all when
they were shooting any of the only Fans segments with
Sydney and the Diaper?

Honestly, I was not in the area, but I was
to my surprise, this whole storyline of Hers.

senior in college.

it as you. And I need to watch the new

this storyline.

same thing, has an interest in acting, looking to break
into the whole you know, extra scene like.

Do you have advice for anybody. I mean you're in.

I mean you've been in Hacks, You've been in you're
in the Anthony Board Dane Project.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Like, what's the secret to getting in?

Honestly, I think the biggest secret.

Is is just having that passion and going for it.
Especially here in LA it's all about networking. It's all
about who you know, and honestly.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Just being as humble in kind as you can as well.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Like you know, I'm just trying to make as many
friends out here, and so in doing that and like
constantly letting myself gets to different opportunities and different people,
you just get your feet in the right door and
and next thing you know, you're having these conversations with
people about different projects and different things.

And so honestly, just.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
Just having the confidence to be bold and make those
networking opportunities and just go for it.

If you have the passion, you'll get it.

I grew up in Stoughton, so like forty minutes south
of Boston.

Aside from that, I'm constantly on list named for a
TV and film out here, and also, like I'm very
involved in the theater scene as well. So right now
I'm participating in this production that will be headed to
Scotland at the end of August, so I'm really excited
to do that.

It's like a festival run. So that that's me right now.
Speaker 4 (07:18):

but yeah, wow, they looked amazing. Like it's literally like

constantly letting myself gets to different opportunities and different people,
