Speaker 1 (00:00):
So Lisa had a major book club announcement this morning.
Jody Pico is coming back to town and you've got
her on the phone right now, Liz, we do.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Hi, Jody, Hi, how are you good?
Speaker 3 (00:12):
It's like Christmas morning every time you call.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I get so excited. I really do.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Honestly, you were with us last last August when we
were doing the paperback for by any Other Name, and
when we were on stage you gave us a little
tease of what you were working on. And it is
now ready to hit its hollow bones. And I want
to tell can you tell our listeners how you came
(00:38):
up with a concept for this new novel.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Yeah. So I have a friend who's an author, and
one day she sent me a post from a post secret.
I don't know if you remember that. It used to
be a Tumblr blog. Now it's an Instagram handle. Basically,
people send their deepest, darkest secrets in on postcards anonymously
and then they're published anonymously. And this one person has
(01:03):
sent in a postcard with a sort of a hand
drawn image of the Twin Towers burning, and at the
bottom had written everyone who knew me before nine to
eleven thinks that I'm dead and I read this and
was just like what And I did what every author does.
I called DIBs on it. And then I started to
(01:25):
think about, like what would make a person use a
tragedy like that to disappear in the moment, and that
became the seed of hollow Boes.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
It gives me chills, absolutely, I.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Know, right right, it still gives me chills.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, So that's what the book is about. Okay, So
Jody's coming to Lisa's book club on September fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
We're going to be back at Big Night Live.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
The book is on pre order right now, but if
you go to the link on our instagrams, you can
pre order the book get your ticket because Jody will
be doing my book club the day before the book
actually comes out.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
So this is like even cool.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Or that I had such a great time last time.
I mean, I met awesome people. We had just an
utter blast. The other thing that I'm super excited about
is that this is my thirtieth novel, and you know,
that's like a huge milestone. So we're trying to celebrate
kind of like uh, Taylor Swift did her Error's tour.
(02:25):
We're calling this the chapter's tour, and we really want
to kind of like do a retrospective of what it's
been like as I've written all these these books. We're
going to have all kinds of surprises and fun things
going on. So I cannot wait for this book tour.
It's going to be a blast.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
And I have to say her last eight novels have
debuted at number one in the New York Times Bestseller.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Last it's amazing. How do you do it?
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Like and you you're churning up, but like it's it's
basically like one a year, right, is that kind of
the time frame.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's like one if it used to be one a year,
but I'm old now, you know, so it's one for
two years. No, It's honestly like, I just keep finding
the things that I really think I need to write about.
And I think as long as I'm super engaged in
a topic, I can get people really engaged in a
topic as well. So you know, I'm still I'm still
really enjoying writing. I can't imagine stopping anytime soon. And
(03:19):
I just feel so incredibly lucky to be able to
dive into topics that I think are things.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
That we all worry about and that we're all.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Interested in and to get people talking, right, I mean,
that's ultimately what I want my books to do. I
want you to start conversations with people.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Well, I have to say someone asked me recently because
I've been doing this book club now for three or
four years, and yeah, I've read a lot of books,
and someone said, what's.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Been your favorite book?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
And Joe, yeah, I'm not, like I said, by any
other name, by Jodi Pho. And then my second I
was mad, Honey, I'm telling you because of what you
just said, because I still think about that book. I
still think about that topic and you do it so masterfully,
like it's really incredible and your research and everything.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I just love you as a writer and as a person.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Well.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Really fun fact that this book, Hollow Bones, there's a
character in it who comes back from an earlier book
because I couldn't stop thinking about him, and it's Jesse
Fitzgerald from My Sister's Keeper. He's kind of a bad
boy brother of the two girls who is an arsonist
back in that book, but he's all grown up now
and he's married to the main character in Hollow Bones.
(04:32):
And it was so fun to catch up with him,
you know, sort of see how he turned out. Is
also I feel like a little easter egg speaking of
Taylor Swift again, you know, for my readers who've been
thinking about My Sister's Keeper all these years since they
read it.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Jody, I hate to interrupt a book. Jesse was an arsonist.
What was he burning down?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Yeah, he was a really bad boy here as a teenager.
He was not getting attention from his family. They were
in the middle of.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
A medical crisis.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
And his dad is a firefighter, and so he would
light fires to get attention.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
So his dad was a firefighter and he was a firebug. Yeah, combination,
it really is.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Well.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Think about a headlights them on fire and the father
would have to put them out exactly.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
And he grew up.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
He grew up.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Now he is in law enforcement and he actually runs
live detective tests for the Rhode Island Police Department. That's
what he does, because who could spot a liar better
than another liar?
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I love that. It's awesome.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
It is so awesome.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
So this book to Our launches at Least's Book Club
on September fourteenth, So if you want to come, you
need to click the link right now and get your
ticket and you'll get to meet Jody and take pictures

can't wait. I'm so excited you invited me back. It's
going to be just terrific.

at home. It does not. The biggest runners on Earth
and people to see you.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
They literally like outside Big Night Live. They wait around
the block. It's like they're waiting for like a Taylor
Swift concert.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's incredible. It's very cool, crazy, very cool.
Speaker 8 (06:13):

Speaker 3 (06:29):
B and Lisa on kids Want to Wait.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
So funny.
Speaker 8 (06:32):
I was producing this segment this morning kind of like
checking the headlines around the country, you know, seeing what
I wanted to use. And one of the top headlines
in the entire nation is Scottish traffic Cone gets a
royal welcome.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
And also.
Speaker 8 (06:46):
And by the way, those two Scotts who came and
were welcomed by Mara Haley and uh.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, are coming in tomorrow. It's amazing.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Right are they bringing the cone?
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I don't know. I have to confirm that.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Oh my god, we have to have the cone.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Oh we got to bring to get them to bring
the Well.
Speaker 8 (07:00):
They were all around Boston with the cone. So I'm
assuming the cone is coming in anyway, that's tomorrow at
nine ten. But you sleep with the cone, right, you
sleep with the cone?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I don't know. How do they bring it to their
hotel room?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (07:10):
Well, these are questions. We'll ask them tomorrow nine ten.
All right, here we go. Reel or fake headline? First headline.
Stripper pole breaks water pipe in ladies living room. Real real,
you have your hand up.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I saw the story the story.
Speaker 8 (07:26):
Of course, you watched every single show every night inside
addition extra all that stuff. But yeah, this is true.
Sent to me, by the way, by several of our listeners.
A young woman in Texas was watching a stripper pole
tutorial on her TV and just happened to have a
stripper pole in her living room. She attempted to maneuver
some move stripper move the top slipped on the ceiling,
(07:49):
hit a fire sprinkler and flooded the room, and lucky
for us, she was recording the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
There it does. That's waters hilarious. You understand the damage
she did to the building.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
Yeah, oh you got to move out? Yeah, what are
you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
She went flying and all of a sudden it was
pouring down from the ceiling. But you know what, you
call that dedication to your craft. I guess right.
Speaker 8 (08:20):
You could practice right in her room. There takes a
lot of skill, I would assume to be a stripper
on it.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I think, so a lot of strength.
Speaker 8 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean I have been to strip clubs in
my life, and when you see a stripper, that's really
the art form.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
It's an art form.
Speaker 8 (08:36):
God, we sound creepy, I do. Next headline here newest
Talk of TikTok. The headline reads water from a Tibetan
spring that costs over eight thousand dollars per bottle. That
a railer, fake story, very fake.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Or I don't know, a lot of crazy things go
down on Tibet. What you know? It just seemed like
a weird place. Is that what the monks are? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Yes, the Tibetan monks.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Anybody has eight thousand dollars water, it would be there.
So I'm there to say real.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
There sprang from there at Lance. Yeah, where's the water from?
Speaker 8 (09:15):
It's a Tibetan Tibet Okay.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Yeah, see this is something I can see justin making up.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
I don't think he knows where Tibet is really fake.
I'm saying real all the way. Oh are you saying real?
Speaker 8 (09:31):
M Okay?
Speaker 3 (09:31):
I did it again because I was. I was thinking
it was fake.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I know. This is how did you come up with this?
I don't forget.
Speaker 8 (09:40):
I was baptized by a monk, a Buddhist monk that
lived in a cave in silence by themselves for ten years, okay, enlightened.
This monk was enlightened. They came to America and as
an infant to my dad, who's a Buddhist, it brought
me to the monk to be blessed.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
That doesn't explain how you came up with the story
of eight thousand.
Speaker 8 (09:59):
Because when you think about Tibet, you think about monks, Okay,
and growing up, there was a picture in my living
room of the monk. There you go next headline here
two school principals arrested hours apart for d UI in
the same vehicle.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I'll go, I'm gonna go real to you both, going real? Yes,
why are you smirking? Because I may have seen it?
Speaker 8 (10:25):
Of course we have to get rid of the segment.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
They'll have seen every story.
Speaker 8 (10:32):
Yeah, this is actually a wild one out of Florida
to school principals arrested for d UI hours apart in
the same vehicle.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
What are the chances?
Speaker 8 (10:40):
Uh, the second one, by the way, that got arrested,
was going to bail out. The first one is the
body came of both arrests.
Speaker 7 (10:46):
Jennifer, you consumed any alcohol today because I can smell it, which.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Sam, We are both high in the total pool of
you know, education.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
And workforce, so it's it's it's hard and we're both
I'm married to.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Put the offices.
Speaker 9 (11:02):
Why are you driving?
Speaker 10 (11:04):
I'm not meaning to do anything wrong.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I'm waiting here I talk to you.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
You're really drunk while I talked to you.
Speaker 11 (11:10):
I know.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
It's a couple of hours later. Thanks.
Speaker 8 (11:13):
Yeah, where is this again? This is in Florida? Yeah,
but what are the chances of that? I'm sure those
two schools are looking for principles.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Of course, by the way, if you're listening, a couple
of job openings and education. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
By the way, not to take a break care from this, but.
Speaker 12 (11:29):
Billy and Lisa, please Bostoncone dot com. They have a
tracker in the cone. Everybody needs to go to Bostoncone
dot com find that cone. I hope it's here tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (11:39):
Yeah, tomorrow they're coming in hopefully with the cone, but
you can track it. I didn't know that Boston dot com.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Well, if they don't bring the cone, they're going to
turn around and go home with the Cone of shame.
The cone is the star.
Speaker 8 (11:52):
Okay, I'm sure the ring is coming tomorrow nine and ten,
they'll be here, Like, who are they without the cone?
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Think about that. They're just a couple of guys. They
flew here.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Yeah, but no, they were welcomed logan.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
We love the Scotts, don't is like the Stanley Cup
of Soccer.
Speaker 8 (12:11):
I'll text them and tell them the cone or nothing.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
You make a good point, right, you're here in America
because you brought this cone from Scotland. Why would you
come on this show minus the cone.
Speaker 8 (12:31):
I'm tempted to text them and say, don't bring the
cone instantly. Every one in the buildings, Hey, I gotta
get a picture with the cone. Gotta They don't want
to picture with the two guys unless it's with the cone.
The cone is coming, Okay, the cone is coming. Final headline.
Here woman received a license plate number with a very
(12:52):
racy message. That's the headline. That's all you get. Come
the hand down, Bill. Oh god, yes, it's okay. It's
not about winning the game, it's about the story. And
this is a good one.
Speaker 13 (13:07):
I love it.
Speaker 8 (13:08):
An elderly woman in Florida randomly received a new license
plate ready for this lease listen up license plate red
s q z A five five q z A five five.
So write it down, lease squeeze. Look at it and
(13:28):
hope and then and show.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
It to Bill.
Speaker 8 (13:30):
Okay, look at that, Bill, Can you read what you
think that says? Okay, you give up, squaff it's sexy ass.
Oh sqz sexz A five five ass?
Speaker 1 (13:46):
All right? Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
I looked at it and I said, I don't think so.
I don't think a woman that lives in a senior
community that's going to be seventy seven years old next month,
we'll be driving around with what this play.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Test to say.
Speaker 6 (14:01):
If I'm kind of resigning to it, I figured maybe
it was just justin to be on my car. I
can handle it. If I get a few honks here
and there actually being over seventy, I might like a
few honks.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Yeah, baby, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
Let's go being over seventy, I might like a few honks.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
We go kind of a compliment, right it is?
Speaker 8 (14:22):
I mean so yeah, it's never too old to not
be sexy.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Ough to be sexy? Right? Oh? Man, Eliza.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Now the entertainment update with a Billy got stuff on Kiss.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
And I'll forget. Ariana Grande has three shows in Boston
the gd Garden next week. We have the talkback for
tickets going on, which basically means, any time you hear
an Ariana Grande song on Kiss, you send us a
talk back and you tell us why you should be
at the show. And by the way, I can tell
you this immediately following this report, we're gonna play Ariana Grande. Okay,
(14:59):
there you go, Yeah, I get the talkbacks ready.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Hi.
Speaker 14 (15:02):
My name is Jenna, and I need to be at
the Arguna Grande concert because I'm twenty six right now.
But at eleven years old, I was making music videos
with my friends to her music, and I have been
a fan ever since. And I just need to be
(15:23):
at that show to hear her live for the first
time ever. I've never been able to Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Wow, just like that, Just like that. That's a good
example right there. And again, we will be playing Ariana
right after this report. Yeah, and you know, Ariana Grande
is really happy to be coming back to Boston because
there will be no technical issues here in Boston. There
never are. We know how to do it. Okay, there
was a problem with the microphone at her show earlier
this week. We have a clip that's pretty cool. Yeah,
(16:00):
a mic check in the house front of House one two.
We always do a mic check. Benson Boone was on
stage in the TV garden last night. You think there
were technical issues, Uh, there was a problem with the mic.
Loud and clear with Benson Boone last night.
Speaker 15 (16:16):
He was glad to be here, ladies, gentlemen, was a
man too, right.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
All right? Loud and clear. Yeah. Did you have any
problems there? None? No, No, they did they work there,
Yellow one two, bitch. We always test the microphones always,
We exclusively the Billy and Lison Morning Show are asked
to come before every tour at the TV Garden to
test the microphones.
Speaker 8 (16:51):
Would be a cool story, though, if there were difficulties
at the TV Garden and we got a moment like
that with a crowdsong, the entire song fans love it,
that would be great.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeah. Benson Boone was also tooling around Boston. He stopped
by Boston colmed. He's a frisbee guy. He was throwing
the frisbee around. He talked about her in stage. Good
city and he's extremely cuman here cuman in that geez Iza.
A couple of you walking around the park in the
(17:20):
middle of the city yesterday. I was dressed in sweat
throwing the frisbee with my boys. But I love the city.
Thank you for having me. You think he's ever done
a sumbr salt and came up and caught the frisbee.
That'd be a cool move.
Speaker 8 (17:35):
He's in really good shape. Oh god, he's in really
good show. Yeah, the show looked amazing.
Speaker 9 (17:39):
Good Morning Morning crew. I took my daughter to see
Benson Boone last night and he was absolutely amazing. He
is so engaging, jumps right into the crowd, was giving
people hugs and high five and he's just such an
amazing performer. I would go every single year.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Everything a single thing he wears a sleepless well, I
mean I had that, you know what I mean? Will
you do? Brother?
Speaker 8 (18:05):
No, I'm nowhere near Benson movie.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Jack City, nowhere near it. So the movie The Odyssey
opens Friday, expected to do at least one hundred million, which,
by the way, would be the third movie this year
to do over one hundred million. There was the Toy
Story five and Super Mario Movies. They did over one hundred.
Zendia is in the movie and by the way, got
an Emmy nomination the other day for Euphoria, and she
(18:30):
was on Fallon last night and talked about it.
Speaker 13 (18:32):
It was so you know, it was such a huge
part of my life, and it was so much in
my twenties, and I feel like I made so many lasting,
loving friendships, and I learned so much about myself, and
I honestly, I think the most important thing that I
always heard with me is the people who connected and
loved thru And.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
By the way, her husband Tom Holland also in the
movie Funny Story. He was cast before she was and
she tells the story. It's fun.
Speaker 13 (18:58):
Tom got the cally Okay, okay, okay. Christopher Nolan called,
and I my heart was just so full. I was
so excited for him, you know what I mean, he's
the best and he deserves this, he so much and
I was just so excited. Also I'm you know, I'm
obviously his biggest fan, but I'm also a Chris Nolan fan,
(19:22):
right like, so when that kind of opportunity comes around,
I was just so excited, Like I didn't even put
myself in that equation at all, like we already won,
you know. And then he he had another meeting, so
he had the script a little you know, peaky pek okay,
I gotta know, you know, okay, So I look and
(19:44):
then he went off to his meeting. And then when
he came home, I was like, okay, like tell me
all about.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
It, Like how was he? What was it?
Speaker 16 (19:49):
Like?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 13 (19:50):
I was like so ready, so excited. And he goes
read this again and I was like why, Like I
read it, we just read it last night. He's like,
read it again but with a scene it in mind,
and I was like, yo, stop it right, Like my
I just yeah, if freaked out. I was so grateful
(20:11):
and that he got to be the one to tell
me line.
Speaker 8 (20:14):
And I love that, dude.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
It was so special.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
I love that Tom. Yeah, power couple. Tom. Do you
think he wears platform shoes when they're all together?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
She's tall, yeah, a little bit. Yeah, No, I don't
need to.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Be a mecher sneaker. What anything you can do to
keep up? You know what, Lacy, You had a major
book club announcement a few minutes ago.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Jodi Pico. She is on her thirtieth novel. She will
be joining me.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
At Lisa's book club on September fourteenth at Big Night Live.
It's the day before Hollow Bones actually comes out, so
you're going to get the book before anyone else does.
She's going to launch her tour, her book tour with.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Us talk about stats. Her first eight novels debut at
number one the.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
New York Times, viewed at the New York Times, on
the New York Times bestseller List. So she's from New
Hampshire and she has been at my book club before
last August, so she's coming back.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
The link is live Lisa Dannoman went Away.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
It's also live on Jody's Instagram Jody Pico and then
on the Kiss Instagram.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
All Right, SB Awards last night, Jalen Brunt end of
the Knicks got Athlete of the Year first and foremost.
To be.
Speaker 17 (21:22):
Award of this award and with a group like that
means the world. So I want to say thank you
to the fans. I really do appreciate y'all, my family,
my teammates, just everyone that's always.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Believed in me. I lost the words and it's been
it's been all of her run. I'll say, to say
the least, I want to thank the Billy and Lisa
the Morning Show. He also got Best Championship Performance and
the Knicks got Best Team Jason Tatum out on the
red carpet last night. Of course, he was asked about
the Jaylen Brown trade. If I'm being transparent, it's weird.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
Yeah, right, I've been on the Celtics for years and
he was my teammate. Every single one of those You
understand throughout you know the course of a career that
the NBA is a business and people change teams and
changed coaches in front office, but it doesn't make it
any easier.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
And a really cool moment at the SBS last night,
Figure Skater or at least salou God breakthrough Athletes.
Speaker 10 (22:22):
First of all, I'm really honored to be given this award.
I've been in my sport since I was five years old,
and I had some really rough times in it, and
I took two years off and so for me, this
it really feels like I broke through in my own
way for myself and for my sport.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
I love being an athlete.
Speaker 10 (22:41):
I couldn't have done it without my team, Philip Massimo.
Those are my two coaches, and they really helped me
through these two years. And I feel like mentally physically
they helped me. I'm gonna say breakthrough again, but they
helped me break through. And so yeah, thank you guys.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
She is a cool young lady. Yes, yeah, very cool.
Speaker 8 (23:02):
The moment last night was Mike Tyson presented an award
to show Hey Otani with Jake Paul and so they
announced the winner and then he looks at Jake Paul and.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Goes, that's a dude.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
I used to Mike Tyson, He's in his own world.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Yeah. World Cup final is set. It's gonna be Spain
and Argentina for the Cup Sunday at three o'clock. Argentina
coming from behind yesterday to beat England to to one.
MESSI assisting on both goals, including this one.
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Messy driving in messy, crossing bag.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Paul there it us Lautara Martinas stop its time?
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Can we get the Spanish call? I think the Spanish
call is more exciting, messy and gonna tell you you don't.
(24:04):
Oh my, somebody should have like a competition or something
between like Spanish gold callers.
Speaker 8 (24:11):
They should do it at City Hall Plaza. Why not
watch party?
Speaker 1 (24:15):
That's right Sunday, three o'clock A watch party City Hall
Plaza and you can meet Jeff. Hey, Hey, morning crew,
it's Jeff here. What a match that was?
Speaker 16 (24:23):
Holy crap. I can't believe I witnessed that miracle. Argentina
did it again. One more match left on Sunday. I
don't know where I'm gonna watch that, baby, but you
should tune in with the other one billion people. That's
gonna be something special.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Peace Peace, Jeff, Peace, poy he's everywhere. Oh he is? Hey,
before we go to break, did you want to correct
yourself a little area made during the reeler? Fake? Oh?
Speaker 8 (24:47):
You want me to do that now? It's gonna wait
until the wrap up there. Yes, we had a story
about a license plate that a seventy year old woman
got and it was sqz A five to five. I
said it was sexy ass, but I was correct by everybody.
It's actually squeeze ass.
Speaker 12 (25:02):
I'm sorry, justin my boy, the license plate says squeeze ass,
not sexy ass.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (25:09):
So that's about eight hundred and thirty talkbacks correcting me.
I did make a mistake. It is squeeze ass.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
They love correcting us little confuse, and I don't blame them.
Speaker 8 (25:18):
They're on the game. Oh I appreciate that. Listen, We're
human make mistakes.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
That's right. Lloyd knows Bill does well. You might remember
both Lisa and I said squeeze right. I take the blame. Okay,
all right, Hey, we're brought to you by ninety nine Restaurants.
A Lobster Lover's Weekend is back at the ninety nine
restaurant this Friday through Sunday, that's tomorrow, or to the
famous Colossal or Hot Buttered Lobster Roll. You get a
free three course meal. Up, great, it's this weekend only
(25:45):
you gotta love the nines in there you go.
Speaker 11 (25:47):
Hey, Justin, I can't believe you haven't played that clip
of Billy saying Ariana Grande, because literally, every time anyone
says ariana grande, all I hear is Billy's voice in
my head and then I have to do the impression
for people.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, we do too, Arianna Grande. Can we get some
nice here.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
From the planet Fitness Kiss one of eight Studios. We're
back with Billy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
So one of the most long awaited and much anticipated
movies ever is in theaters this week. We're talking about
The Odyssey. Lucky for us, we have a connection at
Showcase Cinemas and that connection is youth alyssa. Good morning.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Good morning, Billy and Lisa. How are you guys?
Speaker 18 (26:34):
Good?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
So does the movie actually open tonight?
Speaker 5 (26:39):
So we have some The movie opens tomorrow, so.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
It's not like a midnight tonight. I think it's tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
We have so we have some shows today, but the
official opening date is tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Now how does that work? Yeah? And who are the
people that get tickets for today?
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Yeah? So this is actually so this is actually a
little movie industry secret for all you guys listening. So yeah,
so usually movies are advertised to come out on a Friday,
but they come out on a Thursday. So you can
actually go on or any website our and is ours included,
and you can get tickets tonight to see The Odyssey
to be one of the first people to view the movie.
(27:18):
And it's amazing, you guys. I saw it last weekend,
and oh my god.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
That was my next question. I was going to say,
I know you guys get advanced screenings. Did you get one?
You've seen it?
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Yes, I have, I have you, guys, And I have
to tell you, I think this is probably my favorite
movie of the year so far, hands down. This is
such an epic film in every sense of the word,
you know. So, I mean, I'm sure everybody knows already.
This is based off of, you know, Homer's very very
famous story about Odysseus and his travels back home to
(27:51):
Ithaca after the Trojan War, you know, which is the
famous story of the Trojan horse that products and but
it's part of the epicness of this movie is obviously
not only the story itself, but it's Christopher Nolan's directing style.
You know. He he is so incredible at coming up
(28:14):
with you know, a storyline that really demonstrates how big
these stories are. The movie was filmed with Imax cameras,
which is like signature style now, so that you can
actually get thirty percent more picture in the movie itself.
So that means that there's more monsters on screen, there's
more oceans to sail through, there's just like more to
(28:37):
experience in general, and it feels like you're right there
with you know, Odysseus, who, by the way, is played
by our very own Boston boy Matt Damon. Oh yeah,
and you know you're going from island to island to
find your way back home with him, and it's really
incredible of Troy. Yeah right, I know. And you know
(28:57):
I actually I saw this at our Legacy Plays theater
and Detum and I have to say, you know, this
is you have to see it in the theater, and
you have to see it in an extra large screen too.
So if it's not an Imax, I recommend our X
plus Laser Premium format screen. It's our our giant screens
that we have. They're essentially the same size as as Imax,
(29:20):
but we also have they'll be at most around speakers.
So when I was watching the movie, I could hear
swords crashing into each other all around me during battle scenes.
And there's even one scene where a rock facade falls
and the sound system is so good that you could
feel the vibrations from the rocks crashing in your seat.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Yeah. Okay, so so listen before you continue, exactly which
theaters can do this for us? Now? Showcase theaters.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
So we have we have quite a few X plus theaters.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
You know.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
I think the closest one that we're going to have
is going to be the one at our Legacy police
location that in Dedham, Massachusetts, and then our next one
is going to be the closest one to Boston. Is
gonna be just one second, Yeah, Hanover. Hanover is another one,
(30:16):
Blackstone Valley and Low we all have them there.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Oh, justin that's your alley, right.
Speaker 8 (30:22):
Are their tickets available to buy for tonight tomorrow?
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Yes, yes, there are all right.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
So you mentioned Christopher Nolan. It's funny. We've been talking
about the movie for a long time and we've had
a lot of the stars in the movie, from Zendea
to Matt Damon and Tom Holland all talking about the movie.
But the first thing they all talk about is Christopher Nolan.
So Christopher Nolan jumps right off the screen his work right.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
Oh my gosh, absolutely absolutely, And I think you know,
as part of why talent loves to work with Christopher
Nolan so much is he really is so focused on
the story itself and making sure that all of his
you know, his talent is really demonstrating, you know, their
strengths and they're able to lean into their characters as
(31:08):
much as possible, so he takes all the guesswork out
of it for them and is just a really wonderful
person to work on on set with.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
You know what's funny, Flissa, as you talk and hype
of the movie, Lisa Dunovan is actually looking to buy.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Because I was on the Legacy Place X plus the
seven o'clock showing which is tonight. There are a few
seats still available, so I'm like looking at the map to.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
See if they're ready together two seats together.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Oh, you got to see it. We have to see that.
We all have to say.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
It's two thirty showing at a seven o'clock in the
X plus at Legacy Place.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
There you go, so you can get tickets for today, Yes,
you can yep.
Speaker 5 (31:43):
And like I said, you guys just note to sell Thursdays.
You can always see the movie on thursdays of opening week.
Speaker 8 (31:50):
It's good always on Thursday because it is kind of confusing,
So that's a good tip.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Billy and Lisa's talk back left over his buddy lets
you go.
Speaker 19 (31:59):
Hey, it's Sarah from Maine, just checking in at thirty
seven and a half weeks pregnant. And I gotta say,
I'm just so thankful that you guys are still on
during the summer because it just keeps a sense of normalcy.
I'm sitting outside while drinking my ice coffee, sitting with
my dog, and it's about all I can do these
days as the countdown to baby begins. So I hope
(32:22):
you enjoy this beautiful day that we're having, or at
least it's beautiful up here in Maine.
Speaker 20 (32:27):
And love you all.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Bye.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Starting to get a little smoky out there, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:32):
Yeah, I'm not sure about Maine. It was not as
bad yesterday in Salem, New Hampshire as down here.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:37):
It was more cloudy, not as yellow.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
It was weird here yesterday.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
It was burning my eyes yesterday, yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
But we appreciate that Sarah, and yes, we want to
be a part of your routine every single day.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
We don't take summers off, No, they don't allow that.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
So here, we're here, here, round we are, We're here
for you.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:55):
So you know your hair is talking about people at
the end of the summer, they're like, oh, I'm back
to teaching, driving the kids to school. I'm back listening
and it's like, well, we've been here.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah, we're we are still your routine.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Yeah, every single day. Yeah, so thank you for that, Sarah.
Speaker 20 (33:08):
Good morning, morning crew. Out for a walk on this
beautiful morning. I went to see the childships last night
in Charlestown, which were amazing. While walking around, I spotted
Billy's boat and very nearby was her Chambers spaceship on
the water. Maybe that's what it looks like.
Speaker 8 (33:27):
Oh that thing is beauty, Say yeah it's then is
it near your.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
It was still there this morning, Oh okay, yeah, and
it's very close to me. Yeah, yeah, like fifty yards.
By the way.
Speaker 8 (33:39):
If anybody you know walks by Billy's boat, just go right.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
On you can. What what are you doing?
Speaker 8 (33:44):
Welcome you, come say hello to you.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Yeah, they'll be arrested.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
There's a locked gate.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
You have to get the gate.
Speaker 8 (33:53):
Well, it sounded like she was kind of in the marina.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Yeah. Well, because the marina during the course of her Boston.
You can come on the marine and walk down the
docks because a few of the tall ships were right there.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
I mean the name of the boat is off the air.
That means Bill's not working.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Go right on. Oh my god, because they can walk
down the doc to Herb's boat and there you will
be arrested.
Speaker 8 (34:14):
You will be arrested. Yeah, I know. Billy went on
Herb's boat early last weekend. Yeah, and he was telling
me about it and I was like, does he have
like security?
Speaker 12 (34:23):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (34:23):
Yeah, and it's it's well maintained.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
He has his own police force. I believe it. I
believe it. Wow.
Speaker 18 (34:31):
Good morning guys, Calling from Meredith, New Hampshire. I happened
to see d M B last night in Guildford and
he played Billy's favorite song, smash I mean, crash into me.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Why the talkbackers don't miss a thing, do they? Oh?
Speaker 8 (34:49):
Dave Matthews was in Guildford, New Hampshire and we missed that.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah. Bill loves that song.
Speaker 8 (35:03):
Okay, a huge Dave Matthews fan.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
I was.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I mean, I still am, but I saw him twelve
or thirteen times, and at one point, with all artists,
I think you decide, Okay, that was great, that was enough.
Speaker 8 (35:17):
Now his true fans, did they have a name?
Speaker 1 (35:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (35:20):
I have two cousins that go to every single show.
They've been to, like ninety of his shows. Yeah, they
just keep going back.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Maybe jam banders. Maybe.
Speaker 8 (35:28):
I mean, I only only know that song and another one.
But that's actually a really filthy song.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
It's dirty.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
You have to listen to the lyrics of that song. Yeah, Bill,
I only do Medley melody.
Speaker 8 (35:38):
You know, well in your personal time, look up the lyrics. Yes,
it's dirty, it's very very filthy. But yeah, I like
that song. I like this one too. That's a good
song too. But that's all I really know.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
For Dave Matthews.
Speaker 2 (35:55):

Speaker 1 (36:52):
This Ariana Grande? Can we get some noise care?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
That would be fun.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 8 (38:00):
So this morning we talked about well, talked about Jim stuff,
but specifically Lenny Kravitz, who is did a magazine cover
and he's sixty two. He works out in leather pants
and sunglasses weird, and he's in the best shape of
his life at sixty two.
Speaker 14 (38:15):
Do we happen to know where Lenny Kravitz is working
out in his leather pants? I might have to switch gyms.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
He's in good shape, Zoe. He's dad Zoey's dad exactly.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
You know he's going to be Harry Styles father in law.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
I know.
Speaker 8 (38:31):
And the other thing about Lenny, we discovered this recently.
He doesn't like flying.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
No, he won't fly. Yeah, so that's what they're talking
about having two different weddings, so he wouldn't have to
hop on a plane.
Speaker 8 (38:40):
Right right, But what's what's his biggest song?
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Flying?
Speaker 8 (38:47):
It just doesn't make sense, right, doesn't Oh God? And
finally I did correct this earlier. I want to correct
it again. Railer Fake Headlines a segment we do at
eight twenty Every morning. I find headlines that are real
and then I make up someonees that are fake. And
one of the real headlines was about a woman who
got a license plate assigned to her. It was sqz
A five to five. I thought it was sexy ass,
(39:09):
but it was really squeeze ass.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
And everyone to correct me.
Speaker 12 (39:12):
Justin my boy, the license plate says squeeze ass, not
sexy ass.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Yes, now, you jumped down our throats when Lisa and
I said, no, I know, you know what.
Speaker 8 (39:22):
I get up so early not an excuse, but sometimes
I'm pulling so many things. I just looked at it
quickly thought it was sexy ass. It was squeeze ass
on the license plate of the woman, the poor woman.
Speaker 14 (39:32):
I got a license plate one time. It was a
Capan Islands plate and it was sixty nine b J.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
I was mortified.
