lyric that will give you a clue, and it's a
song that we play a lot on Kiss Went Away.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
It's one of her hits. So give us the sound
and the song and you win.

to get rid of any of those gift cards son
in my life.
Speaker 11 (02:31):
Yeah, it's an old tale that Billy used to have
a bunch of gift cards from like Visa whatever, just
lying around his house.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
I don't know where they are.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
And I did, they're all gone gone, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
He gave me one and it didn't work.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, okay, me too, Okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
It has nothing to do with it.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Yeah it did, but no, but it was it was
it was something that it wasn't activated.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
No, I don't know there was.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Oh, it was the card that I had hacked, but
somehow I still carrying it around.
Speaker 7 (02:58):
He gave me a five hundred dollars gift card for
my birthday. I think it was two septembers ago, because
my birthday is coming up in a.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Couple of weeks.
Speaker 7 (03:04):
Wink wink. But he gave me a card and it
was only there was like two hundred dollars on it. Wow,
it's fine, you know now.
Speaker 11 (03:11):
You're all making I mean you haven't given one out
in the years.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
I can remember last time he gave me one.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I don't happen.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
You used to give the mel a candy?
Speaker 13 (03:18):
Well, I used to have a source. He did an
Amex card and you know it's fraud. It dried up,
dried up and left the building.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Anyway.
Speaker 7 (03:29):
Happy birthday to Sura. It's Friday the thirteenth. She is
a Talkback Mafia member, so happy birthday to her.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Yeah, yeah, you ready, Sarah.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
We appreciate Sarah. Six am, what's up girl? Alison is
on the phone. Good morning, Alison, Good morning. Sorry to
keep you waiting, Alison. I know you're all business right now,
because it's time for the Jabrina's Secret sound. Do you
think you know what we're playing here?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I'm nervous.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Okay, well, don't say anything yet. Don't say anything yet, Allison,
because we'll get to let you hear it one more time. Okay,
listen carefully. Here's the secret sound. Oh man, there's gotta
be a hard one. Allison. Do you think you know
the secret? Secret sound?
Speaker 14 (04:16):
Oh no, I'm even more nervous.
Speaker 15 (04:18):
Is it a ceiling fan?
Speaker 5 (04:21):
That is not correct?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Alison? I love you, but a ceiling.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
That was already that was a previous.
Speaker 11 (04:32):
Yeah, want to wait dot com and check the previous
sound and yesses.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, you got to catch you up, Allison. But that's okay.
We love you anyway, and thank you for listening.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
That's hard because she was the first one with the
new sound.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
Yeah yeah, people are all hearing it for the first time.
So now you can do your homework, you can start
the lyrics and and again you can play again at
three ten now, bibros, I have.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
A few ceiling.
Speaker 16 (04:53):
Fans like nothing, not even remotely Like if I climbed
on a ladder and tried to make the ceiling fans
sound like the secret sound, I couldn't possibly achieve that.
Speaker 7 (05:09):
I'm sure you and everyone else are are upset at that, guest.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
But the good news is three to ten this afternoon,
the vbros Will play it again.
Speaker 6 (05:17):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
And coming up we have weird stories and a weird
story about a cucumber that when he has Yeah, this
might might be not safe for work, but we'll do
it a clean version if you will. But right now,
the brand new Tate McCrae. We had a tease earlier.
This is new music Friday. It's called It's okay. I'm okay.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Tate McCrae kiss went away. Jeems a little weird to me.
Oh my god, it's time for weird stories.
Speaker 17 (05:44):
I'm pretty creepy with Billy and Lisa in the morning,
all right, we were talking about superstitious, creepy things earlier today.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Because it's Friday the thirteenth.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Well, I have a story about a woman who gave
birth to four daughters over nine years on the same
EXAs zach Day on August twenty fifth.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Now, that's wow weird, right, that's just weird.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
It's a weird story for the perfect day, right Friday,
the third.
Speaker 17 (06:09):
Year, right, And I was in the hospital for Juliana,
the second second one.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I just kept going through it.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
They're definitely not.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Going to share the same birthday.
Speaker 17 (06:17):
Because it was ten o'clock at night, I was showing
those signs of progression in my labor at all. All
of a sudden, I started to progress and she was
born by ten thirty. When I was pregnant with Via,
Sovia kept saying, maybe we'll get another birthday gift this
year and it'll be this next baby. And we were like,
I don't know that's that's early. And she was very
(06:38):
agnant that it was going to happen, maybe happen, and
then it happened. I feel like she she knew somehow.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
So funny.
Speaker 7 (06:45):
I was watching the video and they showed a clip,
a real birthday clip of them singing Happy birthday to
three of the daughters. It's like happy birthday too, And
then I got all three of them.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yes, And I have to say that none of them
were scheduled c sections.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Wow, so they're all natural births. That's crazy, crazy.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Fifty eight year old woman in Canada arrested and charged
with as salt after she accidentally sprayed a neighbor with
the water gun while she was playing with some kids.
Speaker 18 (07:17):
Because I love kids and work with kids, I asked
him if he had any water guns and he said yeah.
I was trying to figure out how the water gun
was working and it accidentally hit the neighbor that was
like maybe three feet away cutting his grass. They had
told my husband to bring your wife out of the backyard.
That I'm being charge with assault with a weapon. They
(07:39):
didn't ask me one single question. They didn't interview one
single person. I've cried myself to sleep many nights.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay, can you imagine the level of a hole this
neighbor guy is Yeah, yeah, you know what.
Speaker 7 (07:55):
He sounds like a log? Yeah yeah, he's pressing charges
in this poor woman.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
She got arrested.
Speaker 6 (08:01):
Yeah, she got arrested because he pressed charges.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Yea, and in front of her kids while they're playing
with water guns.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
That's terrible. He gets dropped.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
But boy, you think her neighbor is worse than your
neighbor justin Well.
Speaker 7 (08:13):
My neighbor just doesn't even doesn't speak at all. She
just acts like we don't exist. Sometimes she'll make a
little gesture with her hand, you know, the dismissive.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Oh yeah, that's all she does.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
What miss us?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Whatever? What have you got?
Speaker 11 (08:25):
I'm going to try to do this in a very
clean manner. But bear with me. I might have to
take my time with this.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Should I take notes?
Speaker 5 (08:33):
I don't know. Maybe build me for you.
Speaker 11 (08:34):
Actually, So, there is a man that was caught on
home surveillance video that was on in someone's driveway. I
think they're thinking he might be a homeless person, and
he decided to take a cucumber and put it inside
the grill of somebody's car. That it was in their
driveway and he let the cucumber pleasure him. Well, it
(08:59):
was in the grill of the car in the middle
of the day, so he was in their driveway.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
He went up to their car.
Speaker 11 (09:05):
Put a cucumber in the grill of the car, took
down his pants, turned around, and.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
So he was using the grill of the car as
a mountain.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 7 (09:14):
Yeah, this is in the middle of the day, across
from a school. Sure, yeah, just awful. And the poor
woman whose car it was. It was caught on ring camera,
of course.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
A shocking site in broad daylight. I was so disgusted
and freaked out.
Speaker 19 (09:29):
It was dinner time, just after five point thirty Friday,
when a man with an apparent lunch box crept into
Catherine Baker's driveway, launched a cucumber in her SUV's grill,
checked to see if the coast was clear, and began
performing a leude act.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I want people.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
I want my neighbors to know and keep an eye
out for this person. I want parents to be mindful.
There's a lot of kids, they're high school students. They
walk by themselves to and from school.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Can I have follow over?
Speaker 11 (09:57):
I saw I did see the video, so yes, Bill
can ask a question. Was it an organic I'm not
sure because you can't see again, because actually what happens
is what you first see is him just walking up
and then he goes.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
So we're the camera's positions.
Speaker 11 (10:11):
You can't see exactly his body pods or anything, but
you can see him position in front of the grill,
and then you see him come back around, and then
they blur.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
It out, and then he got away.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
And then he walked away.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, well, you know what Uncle Billy says.
Speaker 20 (10:24):
I always say, hold the cucumber, steady. I'm guessing he
walked away with a bit of a hitch.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
I wonder how big the cucumber was.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Big enough?
Speaker 6 (10:42):
Are coming up here? Bill?
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Oh, oh, you're talking about entertainment. I'm sorry, I was
just focused on the cucumber for a second. Oh my god. Anyway,
Britney Spears is a big buzz story this morning. I
think it's cause for concern. It's a little upsetting, but
we've got that. We've got a lot more coming up
next stand by Rights in the morning, justin you want
(11:13):
to get to talk back in before entertainment.
Speaker 7 (11:15):
Yeah, earlier this hour, we had a brand new sound
for the Sabrina Secret Sound. You know, when it's a
new sound, it's you know, everyone's hearing it for the
first time. They did not get it right, so I
want to send some positivity to them.
Speaker 21 (11:26):
I'm going to throw some positivity at Allison because I
know how difficult it is to be the first person
guessing the sound, and I know that the top back
Mafia is inevitably going to be coming for her.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
So don't worry, Alison. Try again. You're you're doing great, sweetie.
Speaker 6 (11:45):
Was nice, huh, it was really nice.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
It's really nice to see our listeners, you know, support
each other, and there hasn't been a lot of backlash yet.
I think once it gets to like the second, the third,
the fourth time, the same guesses, that's when the anger
there's hell to pay, you know. But the very first time,
you know, you kind of get a pass.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
And the v bros will have the sound at three
ten this afternoon.
Speaker 7 (12:06):
Yeah, yep, three ten will have the same sound and
you can try to be call her twenty five. So
send in some positivity. That sounds like when I having
a bad day, I go to Lisa. You know what
she says to me.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
You're doing great, sweetie. Now the entertainment update with the
Billy cobstuff.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
So people are buzzing this morning about a very weird
Britney Spears post yesterday. She's talking about Sabrina Carpenter's performance
at the VMA's, which was kind of weird. But I
think Britney's post was even weirder.
Speaker 16 (12:36):
Here.
Speaker 22 (12:36):
Okay, so did you guys watch the VMAs. I didn't
watch the VMAs, but I get to see stuff on
my phone from YouTube of Sabrina Carpenter. Why she kissing
the alien on stage? I adore her, I love her today.
I didn't understand that part I didn't seek as a
(12:57):
girl like that was weird. But I also thought that,
like the whole thing was kind of like weird all together.
But after that, after watching that, I took a really
long bath and I am actually color. I'm into coloring
(13:18):
right now. I like to color and I like to
trace and the pictures and then go back over it
with light. And yeah, I just know why I'm talking
about that or why I'm so oh, It's because the
Sabrina girl, she uh, she said my name on the
red carpet, and I thought that was kind of cool
because I forget I'm famous sometimes I'm momah lah. But
(13:43):
I thought it was kind of cool. The Sabrina girl carpenter.
She was like she said something by I was like, thanks,
that's cool.
Speaker 14 (13:54):
She made it cool.
Speaker 6 (13:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (13:57):
I saw this yesterday and I watched it like five times.
I don't know what, what do you I don't even
know what to think.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Okay, we're gonna have to make a team decision at
some point, and when we top focus, well, we actually
Drisney because it's step serious.
Speaker 6 (14:11):
No, we took a step back.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
She this crazy posts all the time, but someone left
to talk back earlier. I didn't have time to dig
it out. But made a good point. You know, remember
the free Britney thing. Everyone free Brittany. Yes, and now
she's putting on videos and people are like, oh yeah, Brittany.
Speaker 11 (14:26):
Well that's the thing is that's proving why she had
a conservativeship to begin with.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Yeah, I mean the conservativeship could have been done better,
yeah yeah, right, yeah, but there was a reason she.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Need to and she needs friends.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
She does. That's the thing. Like, I feel like she's
alone a lot.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Anyway, we'll move on. It's a new music Friday and
justin I know earlier this morning we world premiered the
new Weekend song and we did that at seven fifteen.
Can we give people a quick clip right here?
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Absolutely, it's called Dancing in the Flames, brand New Weekend.
Speaker 23 (15:00):
Wait to see Witchy.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
It is catchy.
Speaker 7 (15:12):
I'll tell you that it's been stuck in my head
since I heard it this morning.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
I really like this one.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
Yeah, get you moving, especially early in the morning.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Wow, that was a great upbeat song. I love it.
By the weekend. That actually helped me get up and
get moving this morning.
Speaker 7 (15:28):
We'll get up and dance, Yeah, get up and dance.
We also premiered the new Tate McCrae that'll get you
dancing as well. It's called It's Okay, I'm okay.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
It's okay, I'm okay, and I'm in the bush place.
Speaker 9 (15:37):
It's okay, I'm okay, Okay, it's okay, I'm okay.
Speaker 8 (15:40):
I don't really that day.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
It's okay.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
You can help them.
Speaker 7 (15:44):
And of course Tate was also at the VMA's on
the red carpet and she was asked about this song
and putting it together and all that.
Speaker 24 (15:50):
Honestly, I wrote it last year in Sweden with Elia
and Savin, and it honestly started off from like a
conversation with me being like, oh it's okay, I'm okay,
and we're like a crazy song. So I ended up
finishing it like four weeks ago and turns it into
a fun pop song and made the music video and
I'm very very excited for it to come out.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
And there you go.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Is it true she's only twenty one?
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Yes, she just turned twenty one.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
So both of those songs the Weekend and Tate you'll
hear all day on New Music Friday right here on
Kiss Want to Wait, also for New Music, Sewn Mendez
has a new song. I'm not sure about it when
he kind of liked it a little bit at first. Yeah,
here's a second listen.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
It's called Nobody Knows and what do you think?
Speaker 11 (16:42):
I don't think it's a radio hit, but I think
it's a well done song.
Speaker 18 (16:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I want to hear the whole song.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
I love him so okay, Yeah, we can't judge it
by a quick clip.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
Yeah, give him the benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 7 (16:54):
And finally, Charlie XCX and Troy Savon are both coming
to the TV Garden September two, twenty eighth, and just
in time a brand new song. It's called talk Talk.
(17:17):
Charlie XCX is like an amazing songwriter. She's written a
lot of big songs for a lot of artists.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I was struck by the lyrics in that song.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
Oh you like the lyrics?
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I kind of did so much. I asked least so
if she could dig into the lyrics and give us
some highlights.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Charlie XCX, you said the weekend.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Oh I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Okay, Bill, what I dug into the weekend for?
Speaker 19 (17:38):
It?
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Will give me a couple of lines from the weekend?
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Well, there's one in the weekend that says the world
can't heal? They say on the radio, So grab the wheel,
want you to be in control?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Okay, that's a good one.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
Take control. I like that.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
That's songwriting, right. There was dancing in the.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Week and mentions the radio.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Yeah that's cool.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
I think it was speaking directly to us.
Speaker 7 (18:02):
Yeah, well radio, I mean we play a lot of
weekend music on the radio. Oh yeah, it's a big
radio artist.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
But I think this new weekend song that we world
premiered this morning. I think it's my favorite weekend song
so far.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
I did hear that they're expecting it to be as
big or even bigger than Blinding Lights.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
See, I don't see what they're saying.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
I don't like blind Lines and I like this song.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Yeah, there you go, right, perfect example.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
All right, we're all on the same page. Meantime, Dua
Lipa heading out on tour. She dropped the tour dates
yesterday and she's going to do two shows right here
in Boston the TD Gardens September ninth and tenth. And
she's also going to be on sixty Minutes with Anderson
Cooper this weekend. Right lese Yes, she is.
Speaker 25 (18:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
We talked a lot about Beyonce being snubbed by the
Country Music Awards recently, and it hit us so hard
because it was a funny story that she had two
songs from Chaboozy. She basically introduced Chaboozi to the world. Right. Yes,
she never got a single nomination that the Country Music Awards,
but Shaboozie did for a Song of the Year. And
(19:04):
he talks about the Beyonce snub here.
Speaker 25 (19:06):
You know, I feel like as an artist, you know,
I thought about it. You know, she she had been
working on that project for you know, a lot of years.
And I know how the award things go. You know,
you kind of you hope you get recognition from some
of these places and it always doesn't come. But like
I said, you know, at the end of the day,
it's like about real impact.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
You've done in the things you've done in the real world.
Speaker 25 (19:24):
So no one can erase her legacy and her impact
is honestly, I mean, she's the goat. She's the greatest
of all time.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Shaboozie is gonna be in Boston Royale this coming Monday night.
He was at our Kiss concert back in June. He's
six foot seven.
Speaker 11 (19:39):
Oh my god, that is a big man. I got
to chat with him because you have liners with me.
Very sweet guy, and.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
He was huge.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, Well Winny telling you got more
than a picture.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
She's very cute too. I was, and I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Okay. We've got reports Beyonce is working on a new
song with Pharrell. We'll see what happens with that. In
case you missed it, last night, the Bill's beat the
Dolphins thirty one to ten. The final, Dolphins quarterback Tua
took another hard hit and had another head injury, and
now a lot of people suggesting to a step away
from football too many concussions. Bill's quarterback Josh Allen talked
(20:24):
about Tua after the game.
Speaker 26 (20:25):
First and foremost, I just want to say, you know,
I hope too was doing okay, praying for him and
his family, understanding what's happened in the past, and just
knowing that I'm praying for him and his family. He's
a great football player, but I've been around him outside
of the football field and an even amazing human.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I like Josh Allen, I like him, Yeah, but poor.
Speaker 11 (20:43):
Tua, like he hasn't been around with a few years,
and he's had so many head injuries.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
Like that's not good. No, that's like CTE like waiting
to happen.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
May I mean, if you see, I looked at a
collage of all of the hits he's gotten and got
and yet he just signed a four year deal for
like two hundred and twelve million. Very talented guy, but
it's scary the hits he's taken. Patrick Mahomes yesterday saying
he will not endorse a candidate for president or anything else.
Speaker 27 (21:13):
I don't want my place in my platform to be
used to endorse a candidate or do whatever each either way,
I think my place is to inform people to get
registered to vote, and to inform people to do their
own research and then make their best decision for them
and their family.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
I'm with him. Let the voters decide, you know what.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
I agree with, Bill h.
Speaker 28 (21:31):
It's Patrick Mahomes here. I just want to say that
it's not my place to tell anybody who to vote for.
Bell Fivers going to endorse a presidential candidate. I throw
my support behind my board. Travis Kelsey, Go Travis, go Travis.
Speaker 6 (21:48):
Thank you all. All right, It's not Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 11 (21:51):
Sounds Kerman's Patrick Mahomes. Have you seen the kid that's
a freshman for Oklahoma and he's literally mimicking him and
looks just like him and does everything the same as.
Speaker 7 (22:04):
Him, just like him, walk like weird, walk to the sideline, no, no,
but Billy please like him, dresses like him, has his
hair like him.
Speaker 11 (22:11):
And some people were saying he even went to Homer
because it's the same colors as the Chiefs.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
Wearing red like wow, sass. He's literally like a clone
of him.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
He's got to be good.
Speaker 18 (22:21):
He is.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
He's a freshman.
Speaker 11 (22:23):
Yeah, but it's crazy, like uh, Pat said, he's like,
I guess I'm getting old if he's emulating me.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Pats have their first home game of the season this
coming Sunday out at Gilette. Both teams, by the way,
are one and zero and it will be a one
o'clock kickoff, and I'm pretty sure that's all you'll see
from the Patriots. I don't think anyone's putting them on primetime.
But then again, they're one and.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
Oh imagine if they go like two, three in or something.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Under the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
Let's let's just take it one winter a time.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Yeah, it's all good.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah. We're brought to you by Dover Rug and Home.
Dover brings rugs to your home, lays them down on
the floor with your furniture in your room under the
right light. As many rugs as you want to try
at home for free. Pretty hard to believe, but it
is true. Dover Rug in Natick, Boston and Burlington. And
(23:17):
there you go. Nice job, Billy, You're doing great.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Sweetie.
Speaker 17 (23:21):
From the Planet Fitness Kiss one o eight Studios, we're
back with Villie and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Kiss hey, guys, so welcome back and to Happy Friday.
But do you know it's Friday at the thirteenth. Any
of us feel any different right now? Friday at thirteenth
pretty much the same.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
I always like Friday, So.
Speaker 10 (23:41):
Friday.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
You love a Friday, right, think about it.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
That's why we say Happy Friday every Friday. So we
talked about this on the show yesterday. There was a
huge fire in Lynnfield. That's the town where I raised
my family, and it was at a strip mall. And
I'm telling you something. Me and my boys, when they're young, especially,
we spent so much time at this strip mall. There
was a duncan there. We'd get the bagels, would get
(24:05):
the coffee. There was a market there. You get great sandwiches.
They had a deli counter. You get anything you wanted
at the market. I did my banking there. There was
a dry cleaner's there. I would go to the cleaner
all the time. And it turns out I find out
a day later that a good friend of mine, Paul Servizi,
had his martial arts studio there for more than twenty
years and lost everything. And Paul is on the phone.
Speaker 14 (24:29):
Paul, you there, I am Billy. Thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Paul, Before we get to the damage, just this is
for Justin's sake, because Justin thinks he's a hot ticket
in the gym. How many levels black belt you, Paul?
Speaker 14 (24:44):
Oh boy, you always ask that I am my tenth
degree black belt? Bellye've been doing us for forty ninety eight.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Yes, so tenth degree, Paul. Okay, and Justin is bragging
that he can bench or something five and fifty pounds.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
No, it's a dead lift, Paul, deadlift, dead left Okay.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
So Paul, as honestly as you can, Paul, tell Justin
how many seconds it would take for you to take
him completely out.
Speaker 14 (25:12):
You are awesome. You make me smile at a difficult time. No,
I wouldn't say Justin enough, but you know, if need
be to protect the family, would be instantaneously, just.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Like less than five seconds he's down right?
Speaker 14 (25:27):
Oh yeah, much less than five.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
Come on, Paul, what's the matter.
Speaker 29 (25:31):
What's the matter with you?
Speaker 25 (25:32):
Paul?
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I know, Paul, I gotta tell you. We're so happy
we could put a smile on your face this morning
because you basically lost everything. Tell us something about it.
Speaker 14 (25:47):
Oh, you know, Billy and Lisa, it's just I got
the news on Tuesday night and I turned on the news.
Speaker 10 (25:56):
And it was just devastating to watch the facility of
the mall just go down. Thankfully no one was injured hurt.
But like you mentioned earlier, we moved there in two
thousand and three, so it's been about twenty one years.
Speaker 14 (26:13):
And it's all about the families, Billy. We have so
many kids from so many different communities that lost their home.
We've had kids that are now in their twenties that
started when they were three four years old. Wow, they
devastated that. You know, the pouring out of support has
been amazing. But the entire the entire studio was gone.
(26:37):
It's just down to rubbles. I know you've probably seen
it on the news, but yeah, there's nothing left.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Nothing, and people have to realize besides the facility itself,
I mean, you lose a lot of personal stuff, right
that you'd never get back.
Speaker 14 (26:51):
Well, that's it. I mean, it's you know, a building
is a building. But at the end of the day,
instructors had their personal diplomas they felt that you know,
earned throughout the years. Diana, who is the director of
the program that was basically her studio that she ran,
(27:12):
and it's just devastating personal notes from people, signatures from
famous people who are no longer with us. It's just
it's those type of things that really that really break
the high.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
And then the other part of the story is, I
mean people go there to train and to work out
and plan for these big shows right that they compete in.
It's a big part of their life. And so now
where do they go to train? How do they get
their training?
Speaker 14 (27:39):
So flip side bittersweet, right, So you're absolutely right. You know,
we've really developed a family. We've been in existence since
our first school since nineteen ninety five, and I've been
blessed with the best staff and supportive families throughout this
time frame. And luckily we have a secondary location in
(28:04):
Nothreading where within twenty four within twenty four hours, Diana
and I and the rest of the team really put
a plan together to have the students come over to
nof the End, not Redding temporarily, just so there would
be no you know, disruption of their training. And like
you said, we have a big tournament coming up on
(28:24):
October twenty seventh at mal Than Catholic High School and
we're all training for that event, so we want to
get back into the Winfield area. Obviously, this just happened
on Tuesday, and it's kind of a it's kind of
been a whirldwind as you can imagine, but we'll be back.
We'll be back stronger than ever.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Well, let me ask you, Paul, is there anything that
we are our listeners can do. Is what is it
that you need for help right now?
Speaker 30 (28:55):
No?
Speaker 14 (28:55):
I think it's just, you know, the outpouring of support
has been amazing, Like I said, done the staff and
the team that we've had, but the families, the parents,
the kids, the adults, everybody from Chamber of Commerces and
everything has been fantastic. And I have to get in Billy. Honestly,
(29:16):
the first responders seven or eight. This is like a
seven und rate alarm fire, and the first responders my
hot out. Thank you to the fire, the police, the ambulance,
sriff's departments and everybody that helped to save people's lives.
I have to thank But honestly, the only thing that
(29:37):
I think I could ask is, like I mentioned, we
have a tournament coming up on our Tiber twenty seventh
and all of the various schools throughout New England will
be attending. And I think that if we can just
get that word out that we can all come together
as a community and I'll be able to personally thank
all of the people, all of the other schools that
(30:00):
had went there support to me over the last couple
of days to just attend the tournament and let's come
together as a family.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Where and when is the tournament Paul?
Speaker 14 (30:09):
The tournament is on Sunday, October twenty seventh at Maldon
Catholic High School. As you may know, I'm a Lancer
alumni nineteen eighty one. So we're having a tournament. We
call it a Fall Invitational with schools from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut,
et cetera, all come together. So if we could just
(30:31):
set the word out for everybody to attend and let's
be together as one unity.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
One more question, Paul, what if there's someone listening, a
landlord or something who might have a space for you
people to move into.
Speaker 14 (30:46):
Thank you, Billy. Yeah, So we need a space, Like
I said, and as you know, Linfield it's a small town,
there's very limited number of commercial space we need a
home for these kids. So if anybody's listening that has
a space that they could rent, or that they may
know of someone, I would greatly appreciate.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
How do they reach out to you, Paul?
Speaker 14 (31:10):
Yeah, they can call me directly on my cell phone numbers.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Well, don't give that out, Paul, do not give that up. Well,
when he did that to me one day, she gave
out myself.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
I don't think you're I mean like looking for Paul's number.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
No, is there a website or something people can reach out?
Speaker 14 (31:25):
They can d M Yes, yes, if vzs ce r
v I is e zis Martial Arts dot com and
they can put their information and then I get the
email directly, so that would be awesome.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
All right, Well, Paul, all the best of luck, and
I hope you do great in that tournament.
Speaker 14 (31:43):
Thank you so much, and thank you for allowing me
to be on. And uh we'll.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Be back by We'll be back all right, buddy.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
Wow, let's tell Paul all right, God, what a good guy?
Pick my ass in two seconds. Anyway, we'll wrap up
the Big Friday Show on the billion lease of wrap Up.
Speaker 24 (32:00):
Next Kids one Away, It's the Morning wrap Up on
Billy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
So we had a brand new Sabrina Secret Sound this morning.
Seven ten, everyone heard it for the first time. Alison
was called her twenty five. She did not get it though.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
It's gotta be a hard one. Alison, do you think
you know the secret secret sound?
Speaker 7 (32:20):
Oh no, I'm.
Speaker 17 (32:21):
Even more nervous.
Speaker 15 (32:22):
Is it a ceiling fan?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
That is not correct?
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Alison did not get it right, But eight ten, Angela
came through and got the w All.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Right, Angela, solve this thing for us. What is it
and what was it inspired by?
Speaker 30 (32:40):
I think it's a piano from nonsense.
Speaker 9 (32:46):
I had to jump the octave.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
That is correct, Angela, you did.
Speaker 6 (32:58):
I love how she got the lyric too.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yeah, that's the way to do it.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
He was on it.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Yeah, she was on it.
Speaker 7 (33:04):
So the v Bros And Gianna they'll have a brand
new Sabrina Secret Sound at three ten. This thing rolls
on continues next week too. Monday morning, sevent ten, It's
Friday the thirteenth, the day of superstitions. We open this
topic up. I feel like everybody had a superstition.
Speaker 29 (33:19):
A lot of good ones, good morning Talkback Mafia, my
superstition and my family on Friday the thirteenth.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
It applies to all of us.
Speaker 29 (33:28):
None of us can wear black. If any of us
wear black at all, something will always happen to one
of us. I feel like that's always happened. When I
was in the seventh grade, somebody on my family wore
black on Friday the thirteenth, and I broke my finger
that day. So I feel like from that point on,
my mom has not allowed us to wear black.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
No, no black. Yeah. And speaking of black, what about
black cats?
Speaker 11 (33:54):
So I'm driving to work and I'm listening to you
guys Friday the thirteenth, and as I'm driving to work,
I stopped because there is a black cat.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Just crossing the street in front of me. That has
never happened to me before.
Speaker 11 (34:08):
And now I feel like I should go back home,
not go to work, and just go back to bed
and wait for.
Speaker 5 (34:13):
The day to end.
Speaker 6 (34:15):
What Hey, I always heard that one the black cat.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
I think they get a bad rep for that.
Speaker 7 (34:20):
Though I had a black cat, yeah, you know, and
I mean it wasn't too nice, but it wasn't evil.
Speaker 6 (34:26):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
Well, most cats are all about themselves, that's true. It's
a very independent yeah.
Speaker 7 (34:32):
You really never know, you know, if the cat's going
to be, you know, a cuddly, kuinding cat.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
You just everyone's They're all different. I don't know.
Speaker 30 (34:40):
My weird superstition is I can't cross the day off
on the calendar until the next day. I feel like
if I crossed today off on the calendar before it's over,
I'll die.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
Oh okay, that's extreme.
Speaker 7 (34:56):
Anyway, we appreciate everyone chiming in on that. And finally,
it is new Music Friday. We are world premiering the
new Tate McCrae and the weekend songs all day long.
I think we're all in on this weekend song. It's
called Dancing in the Flame.
Speaker 23 (35:11):
Wait to see Witch.
Speaker 29 (35:21):
God.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
I gotta be honest.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
I heard him do it live for the first time
in Brazil, that live show he did on YouTube.
Speaker 6 (35:27):
And I was like, Eh, this kind of sounds like
all the other songs. But every time I hear it
now it's getting more and more catchy.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
To me, I have the same exact reaction. Initially, I'm like, oh,
it's another weekend song, but since we started playing it,
I'm like, I like this, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (35:41):
Anyway, I hear the full song all day long on
New Music Friday. Right here on Kiss one.
Speaker 6 (35:46):
Oh wait, what's up Boston.
Speaker 11 (35:48):
At Serena Carpenter and you're waking up with Billy and
Lisa in the morning on Kiss one to.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Wait, well, Hay there, justin very quickly before you get
the talk back up leftovers. You know, we're talking about
by buddy Paul who lost his dojo at the Lindfield
Stripmall fire. We should also mention, I mean a bank
was burned down, a dry cleaner, a duncan was burned
down in that fire, so a lot of people lost
a lot, and I just wanted to bring that up.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
Yeah, Lynnfield, is that's you very familiar with that plaza?
Speaker 7 (36:17):
Oh my god? Every day with the kids, Yeah, every day.
But okay leftover. I never met Paul, but he seemed
like such a nice guy. Yes, he's great, really really nice. Yeah,
this is talkback leftovers, you know, talkbacks that were sent
in during the show that we just could not get to.
We only have a certain amount of time during each segment,
so this is your moment to shine. If you're looking
for something to do this weekend, there you go.
Speaker 15 (36:38):
Good morning, it's the Mayor of the South. Then I
haven't done a weekend update in a long time. So
here's what's going on this weekend. Shrek the Musical is
opening up over at the Emerson Colonial Theater. And Harry
Potter the Exhibition is going on at the Cambridgeie Galleria.
So if you have Harry Potter filds out there, bring
them to that. And I saw a wonderful production of
(37:00):
Romeo and Juliet at the Lobe Drama Center. We have
four otha Romeo. Have a great weekend.
Speaker 5 (37:07):
Where is your Romeo?
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Man?
Speaker 6 (37:10):
He is that what I'm about?
Speaker 9 (37:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:12):
My nephew texted me on the mayor. He said, boys,
the mayor okay has been on a couple of days,
and he said, I hope when he realizes she's probably
going to be in his will.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
I would love that.
Speaker 6 (37:23):
That's really funny.
Speaker 31 (37:24):
Good morning morning, crew, Lisa Baker, your local twenty five
teamster from ups. Listening to you all morning and really
enjoying it. I just wanted to say ditto. You had
a lovely guest on to see this this week who
had said that you guys brought her through a very
difficult time. Well, I just want you guys know that
you do that for people every single day of the week.
(37:45):
You're really I'd added plush to a lot of our lives,
and I greatly appreciate all of you.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Wow, thank you very much, Thank you.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
UPS very important. Oh yeah, they stop by my house
about five times a day. Yeap, the brown truck pulls
up another package or on the porch.
Speaker 11 (38:00):
You know what about ups? You know about them? What
they got a pension?
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Yes they do, yes they do.
Speaker 10 (38:10):
Right.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (38:12):
And you know we have the new weekend song where
we are premiaring it all day right here on Kiss
one Away.
Speaker 6 (38:16):
I think people like it.
Speaker 30 (38:17):
Can we do a mashup of the new Weekend song
with Arianna Grandees? We can't be friends?
Speaker 5 (38:23):
They sound very similar to me.
Speaker 6 (38:25):
Okay, I can see that.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
Actually, okay, it sounds good.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
I don't have time to do a full mashup. We
can do a comparison. Here is the weekend song wait
to See, and here's Ariana.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
Oh yeah, definitely mix it in. You can be done.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
It can be done done.
Speaker 7 (38:43):
Yeah, it's see Ed Sharon once said it about music.
You know, there's only a certain amount of kind of
chord chords that you can use. Yeah, so it's it's
normal for songs to sound similar.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Well, I'm gonna have to break out the ones and
TUESDA this weekend. Yeah, mash them up.
Speaker 7 (38:57):
There you go, all right, Finally listen. Earlier this week,
we had a list, or might have been the last
week of the safest towns or cities in America.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
No, most relaxed, almost relaxed.
Speaker 7 (39:07):
That was that was number one was new It was Newton,
most relaxed in the whole country.
Speaker 6 (39:13):
You see the news today.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
So correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
But didn't you guys just have a report the other
day about.
Speaker 26 (39:19):
How Newton was the most stress free and happiest town
or city in the country.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
I guess that's put that bad.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Yeah, not really funny. Somebody was shot new Yeah night.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Yeah, there was a pro Israeli protest and some guy
charged across the street toward the protest and uh attacked
one of the guys in the protest. Turns out the
guy in the protest had a gun.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
Yeah, most likely, but he's being a rained this morning.
He was protecting himself, I guess. But yeah, Newton not
so relaxed.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Everybody's like, where are from Boston?
Speaker 5 (39:55):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (39:55):
And I'm like, the streets Newton.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
And we're back with the Billy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yeah, we're back, but unfortunately we got to go. And
the good news is we all survive to Friday the thirteenth.
Speaker 11 (40:09):
Technically it's only nine to fifty five, so we have
the next whole day to not survive.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
So I don't know why you would say that.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Okay, so be on the lookout.
Speaker 5 (40:18):
I could leave here right now and a ladder could
drop on me. Things.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
You guys, just put good energy out there. Put good
energy out You're gonna get good energy back.
Speaker 6 (40:24):
Well, I'm tied up. I'm busy the rest of the day.
I got stuff to do and.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Went to coloring right now.
Speaker 22 (40:29):
I like to color and I like to choose.
Speaker 6 (40:31):
I don't think much of danger can happen, no, so
I'll be.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Good, stay within the lines.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
Right that was.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
That was a weird highlight the show this morning. That
weird coloring and Troycey. Also new music Friday. We had
some great new music World premiere the new Weekends on
that's great World premiere, the new tape of Gray That's
great yeap, And we had a winner on the Sobrina
Secret Sound this morning.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Right, we did.
Speaker 6 (40:57):
Yeah, So a brand new sound at three ten with
the v Bros.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
About that you won this to bring a secret sound
today on Friday the thirteenth.
Speaker 6 (41:05):
That's good luck, not bad Okay, that's good luck.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah, And the v Bros this afternoon with Gianna will
have another secret sound at three ten. And I just
want to say the morning started off perfectly this morning
because thanks to Lisa dunnov and I had banana bread.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
Okay, Friday banana bread.
Speaker 11 (41:26):
Dy?
Speaker 5 (41:26):
Would you love banana bread? Here? Banana bread people?
Speaker 1 (41:29):
And we want to thank Brian down the hall. He
brought us donuts yep, deliciously.
