Speaker 4 (00:42):
Just this opener, say drink it, drink up.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
We can't figure it out. Wake up or drink up

a Monday. You know, no one likes Monday, so we
have that to make everyone feel better. But Mike, you're

here we go. I was ready to go live.
Speaker 7 (01:01):
Let me just prep to you a little speak loudly
and clearly, no profanity.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
This is the microphone.
Speaker 8 (01:06):
Don't touch it now.
Speaker 9 (01:07):
If you get nervous, just imagine that your listener is
completely nude.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
And some people I'm sure.
Speaker 10 (01:14):
Yeah, we've had people say that they are showering, having sex,
doing whatever while they.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Was shiit this time, right, Yeah, some people haven't gone
to sleep. Yeah, that's usually me. Yeah. Anyway, we played
the kid Larroy going going into this first segment. Here
he's coming to jingle Ball, which sold out and how long.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
Mike, I think it's like four to six minutes. I
felt like as it went on sale my cave on Friday,
we got the email momentarily afterwards.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Was that a record?
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Last year? So quick? But I think this year was
the quickest.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
And I also feel like just living the weekend, like
the demand is crazy about him text message. I'm sure
you guys got them too. People asking for tickets that
we don't have to give them.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
It's crazy. Yeah, when the family starts reaching out for tickets, Yeah,
you know, the aunts, the uncles, the cousins, you.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
Know from high school texting me last night, jingle baw
ticket it's don't blank and forget I forgot.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yeah, yeah, I know it's crazy, but anyway, yeah, sold out.
The only way in is to win, and you will
right here on the billion leavest show this morning seven
ten and a ten. That's a big deal. Also, Billy
Costa is in Africa. He will be checking in this
morning at nine ten. That's three ten where he is,
so hopefully he can make the three ten in the afternoon.
Speaker 11 (02:22):
Well, he was sending videos all weekend, so they are
in the bush.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
What are the videos like?
Speaker 11 (02:27):
Yeah, I mean I saw a zebra Michelle sort of
very close to a zebra, sort of taking pictures and
then elephants.
Speaker 10 (02:35):
Going to his Instagram, he did post the elephant.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
So see Billy Costa, that's there.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
That was the just videos he sent. Yourey have a
commentary like, get.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Me out of here.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
He sent videos. But then I know he called me,
but I missed his call. But Justin actually spoke with him.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
I talked to him yesterday. Yeah, we'll get the full
update at nine to ten from him. But he is
I'll give you a little preview. So when he walks
out of what he's sleeping in, I don't know what
it is at tent a hotel. When he walks out,
there's lions right there.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Yeah, I have so many questions for him. Yeah, he
had a couple one kind of close call with some hyenas,
which he'll talk about.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
But he's in the bush.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah, he is. You never you want. I told him yesterday, dude,
you want to stay away from packs. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
He wouldn't do well. He would not be coming back
back in the body back.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
But he did say he's describing it as a life.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
All I knew it.
Speaker 10 (03:27):
I told him this from mine. Now I did too, like,
oh my god, all he does is bitch moone. And
then he said, what's the most magical thing of my life?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
You know? He called and I missed the call and
it was from a one one one one number. Yeah,
and then he's texting me, you know, call back, this
is Michelle. So I call it back. It's from some
satellite phone. I mean, he is legit in the bush.
I think of a satellite was big.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Well.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I tried calling it back but they went right to voicemail.
Speaker 10 (03:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I don't think it's working.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah, and then some guy helped him set up his
phone so he should be ready to go at at
nine to ten. So we have that going on. Also,
mikey V is going to get married, and when are
you getting married? My twenty five November second Okay, and
he's having a destination wedding. Oh boy, I'm not sure
how we fail about this. I'm gonna get tacked. Well,
we'll talk about it, Okay, Well, we'll talk about it
(04:18):
at seven fifteen. There's there's a lot, there's there's arguments
on both sides.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
I'll explain my story why I did it, and then
I'll let you guys, because you're.
Speaker 10 (04:26):
So popular and you have to invite all framing him
at half of Boston.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well, I do. I do like how you get Yes, Mikey.
I like how you had you had a party here
first of the people that couldn't go, and then you
have the wedding there, which I do like. That's good.
So we'll talk about that at seven fifteen. Sound good. Yeah,
and Lisa were looking on weather today.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
It's going to rain, guys, happy this morning.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yes, I feel like summer.
Speaker 7 (04:49):
I know, the whole.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Weekend was it was amazing.
Speaker 11 (04:51):
Now we have rain showers today and then this week
get ready for like the cold weather. It's going to
be cold, colder, yeah, in the morning, and then we'll
get up into the sixties.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
So you wake up, leave the house with a sweater, right,
and then you leave work and you're sweating in that
such exactly. Yeah, that's sweat weather. Let's get going on
a Monday morning. Billy obviously was not here, so Lisa
is covering entertainment.
Speaker 11 (05:16):
Okay, We've got so much good stuff. So Brina Carpenter
was on CBS yesterday. The Menendez brother a new documentary
comes out today. There's so much going on with them
on Netflix. We're gonna hear from them behind Bars and
then Alex Cooper and Call Her Daddy featured Kamala Harris
and she's getting some heat for it.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
So we've got all that and more.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
From the Planet Fitness Kids One Away Studios. We we're
back with Billy and Lisa in the.
Speaker 12 (05:43):
Morning on his one eight.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Hey, good morning, everybody, Welcome back Billy and Lisa's show
on a Monday morning, A rainy Monday morning. Lisa's going
to clear up or.
Speaker 11 (05:53):
What No, You're gonna have a lot of rain this
morning and then just like scattered showers by this afternoon.
But then the rest of the week is kind of chilly.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah. I see a Thursday high of only fifty eight. Yeah,
so bring out the hoodies. Yeah, as they say, hey,
don't forget seven ten and eight ten we have sold
out jingle Ball tickets and then nine ten we're checking
in with Billy Costa live from Africa. That'll be fun.
But remember you can always check in with us on
the talkback Mike. If you're listening on the iHeart app,
just have the red microphone. Send the message in. I'll
(06:20):
put your voice on the radio.
Speaker 13 (06:22):
Good morning, it's the Mayor of the South Bed. I
had a lovely time at the tops Field Fair. I
had an incident with the horse, but we'll talk about that.
Mother day boy, Lisa, How with Sting? I want to
know how Sting was?
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Did he look at you? Did he sing fields of Gold?
My favorite sing song. I just think today is going
to be a beautiful day, not weatherwise, but mental wise.
Have a great day everyone.
Speaker 11 (06:50):
I agree Sting was amazing. He did sing fields of Gold.
He sang for an hour and forty minutes, played the guitar,
did not skip a beat, sounded like he was in
his twenties.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I saw the videos you posted, and he's in good shape.
Speaker 11 (07:04):
He's in great shape. Yeah, that's that tantric sex stuff
he's doing.
Speaker 10 (07:08):
Yeah, down, Mike, He's gonna live forever.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
That's now the entertainment update with a Billy Cotsta.
Speaker 11 (07:15):
You can Okay, that's pretty interesting, but he's right, sting
does look really good. So you just mentioned it justin
jingle Ball is officially sold on. It's sold out in minutes.
It could actually be a record on Friday. So the
only way you can go is you can win tickets
seven ten and eight ten. This Morning, Sabrina Carpenter, she's
having quite the year. She was on CBS Sunday Morning discussing,
(07:39):
among other things, her the biggest misconception is that she
doesn't write her own music.
Speaker 14 (07:44):
I think a misperception is that I don't write my music.
I think a lot of people think because I have,
you know, a producer and co writers that I love,
that I'm sitting in the room on my phone not
writing songs.
Speaker 11 (07:55):
I just yeah, she's all in. She writes with Amy Allen, Right, yeah, Amy.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Allen wrote, I think pretty much every song helps write
every song on the album. But if she posted pictures
Amy Allen on Instagram and Sabrina's right there where they're
writing the songs together, it's collaborative collaboration and her writing
on this album is like top notch. Every song is great,
it's perfect.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
So where would that come from, that story that she
doesn't write?
Speaker 3 (08:18):
I think what Justin said, Yeah, well social media. Yeah,
the trolls.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
The people see that there's somebody else involved, and they
think that person wrote everything. Really, they're sitting in a
room shotting down ideas, doing melodies and then adding the word.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
If you go to any song on like Beyonce's latest albums,
like there's twenty six writers on yeah song, So it's
a common thing.
Speaker 11 (08:37):
She also talked about her on again, off again boyfriend
Mary Keyogan and why she cast him in Please Please Please.
Speaker 14 (08:44):
I am genuinely like and not even biased opinion. I
was like, who's the greatest actor that I can find
for this music video? And he was next to me
in a chair and he was so excited about it
and he liked the song, which is great.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
He's a fani. Actually do like your music, He does
like my music. Yeah, he should like her music. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
we all like her music. And we don't know if
they're together.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
We don't.
Speaker 9 (09:11):
She didn't.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
It was kind of vague.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Yeah, they kind of, you know, kept it at a distance.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
It seems that way.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Yeah, you can read between the lines.
Speaker 13 (09:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (09:18):
The other big story today is Monsters, the documentary about
the Menendez brothers is out, but there's a new one
that just dropped on Netflix. It's actually it interviews Eric
and Lyle behind bars. We haven't heard from them in
thirty years, and Eric is talking about a letter wrote.
Speaker 15 (09:35):
Me, this emotional letter when I was in the county jail.
Speaker 16 (09:41):
Lyle couldn't express what he did in that.
Speaker 12 (09:45):
Letter in person.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
It was easier for him to put it on paper.
She felt that telling.
Speaker 16 (09:57):
The six secrets of the family would be like killing
my parents.
Speaker 6 (10:02):
Again, and he did not want to do this gives Yeah,
there's so much to unravel, this whole story. Yeah, I
have not watched. This just came out what at three am.
I'm very eager to watch that today after me too.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Yeah, I think when I watch it.
Speaker 10 (10:16):
I over the weekend, I try to watch The Monsters,
and for some reason, I just wasn't connecting with it,
probably because I knew what it really happened. I've seen
other documentaries on it, and Lyle and Eric are very
different if you're watching. If you watch it, how they
portrayed like Eric is way more like you can empathize.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I don't really like Lyle.
Speaker 10 (10:34):
I feel for him and both of them because they
were both sexually abused, but like it's just Lyle seems
like a little bit more like psychopathic intense.
Speaker 11 (10:43):
Yeah, so we'll wait and see what happens with this
new thing that the LA District Attorney is doing.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
It's I think it's in late November.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
They could get out, absolutely possibility, it wasn't Kim Kardashian involved. Yeah,
she's speaking out getting them out.
Speaker 11 (10:57):
So should we have my husband call in at like
eight ten this morning because he actually has a lot
of inside information about Lyle. Specifically, he played tennis with Lyle.
He shared a room with Lyle.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Right well, he Tim left to talk back kind of
explaining it, but there was only thirty seconds.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yeah, no, there's them. There are more details.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Okay, Will Tim from Milton be willing to join our show.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I think he will.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I've had so many questions. I have so many questions.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Yeah, well you'll have some answers, all right.
Speaker 11 (11:24):
The other big thing that happened over the weekend Alex
Cooper on her Call Her Daddy podcast, she posted her
interview with VP Kamala Harris.
Speaker 9 (11:34):
I think that most Americans want leaders who understand that
the measure of their strength is not based on who
you beat down.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
The real measure of the strength of a leader is
based on who you lift up.
Speaker 11 (11:45):
She did a really good job with the interview, but
she's getting a lot of heat on social Well.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
The thing is she did.
Speaker 10 (11:51):
Say that she she asked Trump and Kamala, and Kamala
accepted Trump hasn't And if you watch it as a
woman like Kamala drops some bars, don't have to like
her policies. Like, she made some very good points, and
I thought that if you're looking more on women's issues,
like that was kind of what Alex wanted to talk
about because she's like, I don't know about fracking and
(12:11):
like other things, but I can talk about women, and
that was kind of the focus of this whole podcast,
and obviously ales being like pro woman and all this.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I think it was it was well done.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
I think it was definitely well done.
Speaker 11 (12:20):
Crust in the comments, Yeah, people are like upset that
she's tackling politics. That's their only reason for giving her shade.
But I think you're right. I think she did a
really good job at the interview.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Me and I see her side of it. Right, She's
got one of the biggest, biggest podcasts in the world.
This opportunity, you know, you take it.
Speaker 9 (12:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
The crazy about bigger podcast is it started here in Boston,
Like we were just talking about she too dirty Water
TV here with what we used to every Friday together
on a TV show, which is just to.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Be you right.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Yeah, yeah, I remember she dated a BC like baseball Player.
Cool but just cool that I'll started hear in Boston
at Dirty Water.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Yeah. Trump did go on another podcast though, they're eating
the p of the people that live there.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
She's gonna be a VP.
Speaker 11 (13:03):
Camel House will be on Howard Stern this week too,
so she's making the rounds. Dolly Parton did something really cool.
We love Dolly Parton. She donated a million dollars to
the victims of Hurricane Helene today.
Speaker 17 (13:14):
I wanted to announce that from myself personally, just from
my own bank account.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
I'm donating a million dollars today.
Speaker 17 (13:21):
But but there's a lot to be done and we're
trying to find other ways to even raise more funds.
Speaker 11 (13:29):
Yeah, Dollywood Foundation matched it. So now that two million
have been given and then didn't do we have the
little song that she did well.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
She did Joline as well.
Speaker 17 (13:37):
Holley Helen, Helen, Helen Helly. You came in here and
broke as all apart Helen Helen, Helen Helen. But we're
all here demand these broken heart She's so cute.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
I love her as the best.
Speaker 11 (13:58):
She is the best. You know what's the best? Our
own Olympic medalist Frederick Richard. He was in town recently,
back in Stote, and they gave him the key and
he is super excited about him.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
He was like a full circle moment.
Speaker 16 (14:10):
You know, I'm back in the place that I grew up,
but now I'm teaching the kids, which is incredibly grateful,
and I'm.
Speaker 12 (14:16):
Just having so much fun seeing everybody that i haven't
seen so long.
Speaker 11 (14:19):
Yeah, he was on that gymnastics team they won the
bronze medal this year.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I'm good for Mikey. Did they give you the key
to turn on the b bro show every afternoon?
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I'm from Framingham, Massachusetts.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Deserves the key to.
Speaker 11 (14:41):
Jeremy Swayman is staying in Boston because he signed an
eight year, sixty six million dollar contract.
Speaker 18 (14:49):
To be honest, I am just so excited to be
a Boston Bruin and all I care about is being
a Bruin and the fact that I could do that
for eight years and instill myself as a leader, as
a true member.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Of this this city is.
Speaker 18 (15:03):
All I care about right now, and I couldn't be happier.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
He's a young kid too. He's young, I think the
early twenties. Yeah, sways head to stay. A lot of
happy Bruins fans today, including our own producer Riley, who
I think is the biggest Bruins fan I know.
Speaker 10 (15:15):
Wasn't it like last year though?
Speaker 3 (15:16):
He was like splitting time? So now is he going
to be the guy? He's the guy.
Speaker 19 (15:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
They kicked out the season tomorrow night against the Panthers,
but he's not going to play in that game. Okay.
He will be playing sixty the whole back and forth. Yeah,
they just signed the contract.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
Could you imagine a sixty million dollars contract? Take day
one off? By the way, Sure, I'll take every.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Day off, but you were going to ease into it.
Speaker 11 (15:38):
Yeah, the Savannah bananas. Okay, I have to I have
to talk about this. They announced that they will be
back at Fenway next year July fifth and sixth, and
fans can enter a ticket lottery between now and November
first for those two dates.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
So do we have to go? We have to.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
It's so hard to get tickets.
Speaker 10 (15:56):
I mean like that, that's sixty thousand tickets essentially, because
it's like thirty thousand people at the ball, like sixty thousand.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
We can't get a couple. No, like no, they way
faster than the Red Sox.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Yeah, they're better, better than the Red Sox. I know,
it's crazy, we should try and do it.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
I want to go.
Speaker 11 (16:15):
And we are going to hear from Billy Costa at
nine to ten this morning. He will be live from Africa, yeah,
giving us all the details.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
And he'll legit be in the bush because they're on
a tour right now. Yeah, so he'll be calling us
from the wy I envisioned.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
Him like in the bunker of this big old like
like army phone, like trying to get service.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Imagine if God forbid, you know, an animal tried to
run after while he's live. Oh, oh my god, I
would live for that Billy run.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
I can't wait for that.
Speaker 11 (16:45):
So this hour's Entertainment Report is brought to you by

mikey V sitting in for Billy Costa who is in Africa,
and we'll be checking in on the show this morning

We hopely everything goes well.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
If you go to his instagram at the Billy Costa
there's a video he just posted of an elephant right
up close to it too, which is pretty cool. From
for that, but right now, listen. Jingle Ball tickets went
on sale Friday at noon. They sold out in was
it four minutes, Mike, Like four to six minutes? Pretty much? Yeah, really,
really quickly, so you know we're talking Kasha Tate, mccraig,

way into the show is to win. You do that
right now. If you want to go to the show,
call us six one seven, nine, three one eight. You
will need a keyword and the keyword is sold out. Okay,
(18:18):
sold out show. So producer Riley will take your calls
right now. But Mikey, I was monitoring your social media
last weekend and this weekend, and you're a busy guy,
but I noticed that the last two weekends you've spent
a lot of time doing charities.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Oh yeah, that's like one of my number one things
that I'm trying to do more of just because you
know DD so many clubs, to so many parties, but
like really giving back and doing some good things.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
But yesterday I did an amazing.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
One for a family in Whalen, which is a really
cool just event that they do in that town for
an amazing family. Did a diabetes one Saturday morning and
a breast cancer one Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Wow, and the diabetes one last weekend too.
Speaker 8 (18:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (18:55):
Yeah, that's with Breakthrough T one D which should they
do like a walked and they raised money, but they've
raised over like seven hundred thousand dollars in this couple
of weekends.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Listen, we're about giving back to on the Billion Lisa Show,
and we just launched this new thing called Local Legend
Billion Lisa's Local Legends. Kind of weird though, we launched
it last week and then Billy left for Africa. What
it is is, you know, we are going to give
back to people in our community that are doing amazing things.
Our listeners, and you know those are our nurses, our teachers,
(19:26):
right at least, crossing.
Speaker 11 (19:27):
Gods, like anyone that you think deserves a shout out,
deserves recognition. I mean, there's so many people that go
to work and they do their jobs so well and
they help so many people. So we want to recognize
those hidden gems in you know, everyone's community.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
It really is amazing because everybody has somebody in their
life that we think about this. You're like, oh, that
person is so much for others, but not enough people
do something for them.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
And that's the people that a true Yeah for me,
it's the teachers for sure, especially when you have young children,
you know what they have to put up with my
kid every day. You're a little legend.
Speaker 11 (20:00):
I think, like the people like that work in the
lunch areas of lunch room. Like even my son said
goodbye to one that was leaving last week and all
the kids ran over and gave her a big hug.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Like, those people make a difference.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
You made so many memories.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Even yesterday at that event in Whalan, so many kids
came up to my mom like or to me and say, oh,
your mom was my Hebrew school teacher, your mom was
my priest.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
My mom's taught for forty years.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
But people or kids truly make a connection with those individuals,
and you're changing lives at that point.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah. So if you have someone that you want to nominate,
it's very easy. Go to kiss oneaway dot com slash legend,
or you can leave a talkback. We've gone a ton
of submissions so far. Producer Riley, she's monitoring all the
talkbacks and when Billy comes back, we'll start this week
looking at them. And then when Billy comes back, what
we're gonna do is when we pick somebody, we're gonna
go to their place of work, surprise them. We're going
(20:51):
to have them on the air. I want to give
them a little little prize. Well, they get jingle Ball tickets.
Uh why are you saying that we don't have enough
for me?
Speaker 13 (20:59):
No?
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Yeah, so yeah local legends. Make sure you nominate somebody
for sure. But let's go to line one, is it? Lauren?
Good morning, Lauren.
Speaker 16 (21:10):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
How are we doing?
Speaker 16 (21:12):
I am doing great?
Speaker 9 (21:13):
Now?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Oh well, you're almost there. If you're calling for the
sold out jingle Ball tickets, I do need a keyword
or key phrase.
Speaker 8 (21:21):
Sold out, sold out?
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Get just sold out?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Already already four minutes. But yeah, Lauren, you're in. Congratulations,
We're gonna bring to the show.
Speaker 20 (21:31):
My very excited daughter Awesan.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Oh nice. Who is she most excited to see?
Speaker 9 (21:38):
Uh?
Speaker 20 (21:38):
Probably kill oh.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
And Killer's girlfriend tamer Gay. It's a love affair. But anyway, Lauren,
thank you for listening to the show. You congratulations. We'll
see December fifteenth at jingle Ball. Next shot at tickets
will be eight to ten this morning. But coming up
next mikey V about to get married somewhere across the
world destinitial weddings. Do we like? Do we not like?
We'll talk about it next on Kiss Lisa Kiss. Good morning, everybody.
(22:05):
Welcome back Billy and Lisa's show here. That was the
weekend right there. You guys see what happened at his
show this weekend in Australia.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
I did.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Yeah, some fan jumped on stage while he was performing
and started hugging him.
Speaker 9 (22:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Interesting. He wasn't trying to hurt him, but you know,
he was dressed in like pajamas. They're calling him the
pajama Man.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
So scary.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
But yeah, where was the security for that? It's so funny.
Speaker 10 (22:25):
You saw the video that was like more zoomed out,
like you see the guy kind of the stage was
probably what ten feet high, we had to scale it,
and then you see his security running and trying to
get the guy, and the guy just went right past
them and hugged him like a cartoon.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah. It was yeah, crazy moment right there. But anyway,
we're talking about destination weddings. So Mikey V's in all
week filling in for Billy Costa. You know, he's just
helping out. You know, we usually have four people on
the show, so we didn't want to be short. So Mikey,
welcome to our family and you know, you get getting
married in what three weeks? Yeah, pretty much twenty five
days on November second, and you're having a destination wedding. Yeah,
(23:00):
in the Dominican Republic. So what was the thought process
around having it there versus somewhere like here? Again, a
lot goes into it.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
First Off, a wedding in Boston, if anybody's ever planning one,
is ridiculously priced. Yeah, and we're paying for our wedding ourselves.
So like a wedding here's far too much money. Is
actually less expensive for the bride and groom to do
a destination wedding way less expensive.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
That's one thing.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
Two is neither of our families have traveled a ton
and her family really hasn't held at all. So to
create a memory that we all go on a family
vacation together, everybody together, that's another big thing. If we
did it in Boston, it would be too many people.
As when he made fun of me for earlier.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
He knows everybody.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
So yeah, so it helped us dwindle our numbers for sure.
Still one hundred people going to the d r Wi's
still a big wedding. That's a lot a lot of
people traveling. If I did it here be three to
five hundred people, and that's crazy expensive, and so those
were our major reasons. Also, I d did a wedding
in the same resort probably two years ago, and what
I realized was I got to spend the actual quality
(24:01):
time with the bride and groom because it wasn't just
their three or four hour wedding. The next day, the
day after, day before, I got to sit in a
pool with my buddy and like hang out and catch
up on life. And I DJ so many weddings. I
do realize the bride and groom spend the majority of
their time saying hi, hi, Hi, yeah, and never formal.
There's no quality time with anybody. We're doing this destination.
(24:23):
If you have three or four or five days, your
your biggest memory. Your quality time is built not actually
at the wedding night, but the night before, the night after,
and all that.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
So it's more time.
Speaker 11 (24:33):
Now that he's explaining it, I totally get it for you.
I am kind of yeah, I do, because you're explaining
it so well, and because you have so many friends here,
it makes total sense you would have to invite like
a thousand people to your wedding, so it gets you
off the hook.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
But yes, I have a bud. It's a burden.
Speaker 11 (24:51):
It is because you're asking people to take at least
five days off, right.
Speaker 10 (24:55):
Well, it's funny you bring up last because one of
my really close friends is gay Mary in Mexico in April,
and he's getting married on a Wednesday, and there's no
way I can get off, you know, with our schedule.
I can't get it off. And I feel so bad
that I was like, I really want to go to
his wedding, but he's very bougie.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
So I looked at the price, the price point of
what I'd have to spend. I was like, oh, thank god,
I can't go, right, because it's going to cost me.
Speaker 10 (25:17):
Ten grand I'm not even kidding about like you know
what i mean between the flights and he were saying
a very very nice, like equivalent to like a four
seasons type hotel, and I was.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Like, this is going to cost me like seven grands.
I've never been so excited to have to go to work.
Speaker 10 (25:30):
Yeah, because the only real destination weddings I've been to
is when my parents were paying.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
So I'm like, let's go to stand Maya and Super booge.
Speaker 6 (25:40):
It's well reasonably priced, but definitely have burned anybody who's
coming to that. I think if you do a destination wedding,
you have to fully expect it is completely okay for
your best friend, a family member or something not to
be able to make it because of the pricing, because.
Speaker 11 (25:54):
Yeah, so you're not like you're not upset of someone
said I can't come.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
No. No, Well, so so they pay for the trip,
They pay their own way, the hotel, everything, right, Mikey,
everyone pays their own You don't have to pay for
any of that.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
I mean some family members that need some help, we
helped them out a little bit, but like, yeah, it's
a friend, they're.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Paying for their trip, and if they can't make it, Lisard,
it is I mean I can invite all of us.
Were you going to pay for us to come? No exactly,
but justin you mentioned this though.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
When I did do that, and you guys are a
part of it, I did a local celebration here because
like my grandmother or people who can't travel or just
can't make the trip, I was still able to celebrate
here with everybody that God.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
That let's go to Michelle. Line one Michelle, good morning,
Good morning. Now you had a destination wedding or went
to a destination wedding.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
I went to a destination wedding for my niece and
it was on a small island off of a small
island in Spain.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Oh that's beautiful.
Speaker 19 (26:53):
Was yeah, it was.
Speaker 7 (26:55):
It was an amazing experience because I had never been
abroad to Europe or anything like that.
Speaker 19 (27:02):
But she gratefully gave us.
Speaker 7 (27:04):
A couple of years to kind of save this money.
The flight alone over was nineteen hundred dollars. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yeah, well, yeah, some time.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
I mean, yeah, it was. It was a blast. They
did such a great job of planning so many things.
Speaker 19 (27:20):
For the ten days that we were there.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Because wow, so you used it as like a vacation too.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
I did because I knew I wouldn't ever do this again,
and I would do anything for my niece. She's an
incredible human being. But it was something that I had
planned on and saved for and do not regret one
dime I spent, not one minute.
Speaker 8 (27:45):
I was there.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
It was an extraordinary time away.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
I owe Michelle all for the destination. I appreciate you that.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
So, Mikey, how a cost a rough ess she's saying
almost two grandest for her flights. All this is expensive
to that to anybody, right, but for my wedding. Realistly,
if you're one person, you're paying fifteen hundred dollars for
your flights, your hotel, all your food, all your drinks,
maybe even thirty. So it's like if you planned the
(28:12):
head and got three months ago, you're paying thirty hundred dollars,
your flights direct from Boston to.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
The d R, your hotel for three nights in all
your fees.
Speaker 10 (28:19):
I should have came because my friend's wedding. I think
it's six hundred dollars a night and you had to
stay at least is Like.
Speaker 6 (28:25):
Again, it's still very expensive, and I under said that
not a lot of people can afford that. But like,
it's more reason you're not spending two thousand dollars just
for flights.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
And how many days is it your wedding? Well, people
can come anywhere from two to five days, so two
to five days of complete debauchery.
Speaker 8 (28:38):
Right.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Anyway, we have someone on the phone hare that was
invited to your wedding, Mikey, that is not going. Let's
go to line two.
Speaker 9 (28:45):
I am not flying fourteen, plying to somebody's.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
So, what would be the distance from your house that
you were now and a.
Speaker 9 (28:53):
Half by cost?
Speaker 3 (28:56):
That's it. Job.
Speaker 9 (28:58):
You don't get on plas for what right? Okay, out
of the question.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
So what do you put in the in the on
the rs VP? Do you write something to let them know.
Speaker 9 (29:07):
Can't can't, can't make it too far?
Speaker 3 (29:09):
That's it, that's it. Yeah, just leave it at that.
Speaker 9 (29:13):
No follow up, phone calls, follow up, nothing, No, I'm
sure it'd.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Be a great time, for sure. But we do have
topic time coming up. Remember we do topic Time every
morning on the Billion Lisa Show at seven forty. Every
day we have a different topic, and today's, if you
can guess, is destination weddings. Have you had one? Are
you going to one? Are you annoyed by them? Do
you have a destination horror wedding horror story? We want
to hear from you six one seven, nine three one
(29:38):
one one a weight or you can leave us a
talk back at your voice heard on the radio on
the iHeartRadio app. Just tap that red microphone. Topic time
is next. What is the topic today?
Speaker 6 (29:50):
We're going to be talking.
Speaker 10 (29:52):
Billy and Lisa present to talk amongst yourself.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Topic time. Yeah, if you hear to the show. We
do topic time every morning on the Billy and Lisa
Show at seven point forty. We have a different topic
every day. In today's it's all about destination weddings. Mikey
V who was sitting in for Billy Costa, who's in Africa,
is going to have a destination wedding. I think it's
in uh yeah, And you know, we talked about it
(30:18):
a few minutes ago, Mikey kind of the way he
explained that. I was like, wow, you know what, doesn't
sound that bad. But we have a lot of people
on the phone that want to talk about destination weddings.
Let's start with Maryanne on Line one. Good morning, Marianne, Hi,
how are you. We are wonderful, thank you for joining
the show. What do you got?
Speaker 12 (30:36):
Thank you? I got married in Mgrill, Jamaica, and it
was a destination wedding, just me and my husband. But
I got to tell you everyone on that plane it
was like wedding Mill Central. Everyone David's bridle, all the
women had the David's bridal gowns and their bags with them,
and the place where we got married, it was a
like a wedding mill resort. Every hour on the hour
(30:59):
they had a I didn't go, Wow, this is the
best vacation and best wedding. You know, I couldn't have
asked for a better experience.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
So no one went with you.
Speaker 12 (31:09):
It was just my husband and me. It was probably
the best decision for us at the time. But we
had what's called webcast, so we uh paid a videographer
to have it lasted on the internet for a certain amount.
Speaker 20 (31:23):
Of time people to watch it with us live. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (31:26):
Nice, and that is it's just you two. You have
nobody else to worry about.
Speaker 12 (31:31):
Well that was that was the whole point.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Well, thank you, thank you for calling Mary, and so
there you go. Mike, you there's one for you on
your side. I think there's gonna be a bunch against
me too, though, no, no, no, I think you'd be good.
Let's go to Jill Line to Jill, good morning morning.
So did you have a destination wedding?
Speaker 20 (31:49):
I did?
Speaker 3 (31:50):
How to go?
Speaker 16 (31:54):
I think the key was we gave people a year
in advance to plan for it, so it was like,
if you can make it great, If you can't, we
totally understand. But this is what we're doing. And when
you give people a year in advance, we actually had
probably ninety percent of the people show up.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Oh that's awesome. Well, Jill, you don't know my friend.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
To make him a year in advance, their plus ones
would have changed four times.
Speaker 8 (32:19):
A year.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Is good. I mean, Mikey just told me last week
about it. I probably text you guys six months. Yeah. Crazy.
Let's go to line three. Tyler Tyler. Oh, Tyler, you
have a Mikey connection? Oh boy, yeah? Does he owe
you money? Actually?
Speaker 15 (32:32):
DJ Mike he does. He DJ'ed my wedding two years ago.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
So Tyler, I DJed him and Olivia's wedding and at
the same resort where I'm getting married at.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
So I saw the resort when I d did their wedding,
and I.
Speaker 6 (32:48):
Saw the time that I spent with Tyler and actually
had to hang out with him.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
I was like, oh wow, this is better than a
two or three hour wedding.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
So I I copied Tyler, So is Tyler going to
your way?
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Yes, that'd be messed up.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Also to Tyler's got a text message for me every
other day asking different questions, and he's been like my organizer.
Speaker 15 (33:08):
Unofficial coordinator for for Mikey. But to everyone's you know point,
Like Mikey said it, it was honestly the best thing
for us to do a destination when and I tell
everyone to do a destination. We had fifty five people
at ours, and uh, I couldn't have been happier when
all those no's were coming in, like saved me.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
We were like right at that point where like COVID
was opening up and you could like I think it was.
We were flying back and they're like, oh, no more
masks in the United States. We're like, oh awesome, Like
that was the time of COVID for us, so a
lot of people and it was April vacation, so ours
was much pricier than Mikey's is. But for the bride
(33:57):
and groom, you save probably five amount of money.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yeah, yeah, I didn't know that that that did not
even think about that. I thought would be more expensive
to do the dest A lot of people think that,
well when we live in Boston where everything's expensive.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Right, right, But you have like a ton of friends,
like you said before.
Speaker 10 (34:15):
But they give you a good deal like that because
you're bringing in a lot of guests.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
I remember one hundred people booked their resort room because
they're going there.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Yeah, a good deal, crazy, all right. I think Jake
is planning a wedding and wants to know if he
should do a destination wedding. Jake, what up?
Speaker 19 (34:30):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (34:31):
What's going on?
Speaker 19 (34:32):
So not much So, I'm in the middle of wedding
planning right now and we just booked our venue. But
for a while at the beginning, we were definitely looking
at destination weddings as possibility, but for a lot of
the reasons that when he and Lisa listened out earlier
this morning, we actually decided against it and ended up
(34:53):
finding a venue in Boston that was actually pretty reasonable
for price considering it's in the city. So else looking
forward to it.
Speaker 10 (35:01):
How BIG's your wedding going to be?
Speaker 19 (35:04):
Our wedding list right now, we're still going back and forth,
but at about seventy five to a hundred.
Speaker 6 (35:09):
People, Okay, that's a nice little yeah, and you probably
have sixty five come and that's a good yeah. That's
that's a great number for a wedding. I think too
many people become too chessful for the bride and groom.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yeah, we had two hundred mine. It's a lot a
lot of people got all right, here we go, this
is what we're looking for. Let's go to line six. Timmy,
he has a horror story. Timmy, talk to us. Timmy's
remember I'm three weeks away, So don't scare me out here.
Speaker 8 (35:33):
Okay, okay, I won't, but I do have My sister
got married last November in Cancun, Mexico, and the wedding
was great. Everything was great. It was the last night
of the wedding and I got back to the room
at like four o'clock in the morning, and then my
boyfriend had gotten up around like eight thirty nine o'clock
(35:55):
and we thought we stepped in like a puddle in
our room, and we're like, that's and maybe we spilled something,
But it was actually our room was flooded wall to
wall with like three inches of water. And it turns
out that the room next door left their bathtub like
running and it flowed into our room and flooded our
(36:17):
entire room.
Speaker 10 (36:18):
Did you get like a discount, I mean, like a
refund or something.
Speaker 8 (36:23):
Oh, that's that's the kicker is Like we went down
there and we were like, hey, our room is flooded,
and they were like, that's not our fault.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
God, so what did you do.
Speaker 20 (36:37):
We were like, yeah, it's it's.
Speaker 8 (36:39):
Not our fault either. And they were like, okay, well
if you want, you can, we can do your laundry
for you. And we're like, okay, well, we need we
need a new room, we need like other things, like
another place to sleep. And they almost made it seem
like they weren't going to like give us a room.
But eventually we got a new room.
Speaker 19 (36:57):
And everything, but it was it was a nightmare for sure.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Oh my god, poor Timmy.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
On the flip side, Timmy, you must have had a
good time, Like you got home at four am and
next door they had such a crazy night and let
their bathtub on.
Speaker 10 (37:08):
The part of the wedding party because it was like
are you in the same block? You know?
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Sometimes No, it wasn't.
Speaker 8 (37:14):
It wasn't the wedding party. It was it was just
like random people next to us in the in the
cleaning ladies. We went out in the hallway after we
found out, and their cleaning ladies were literally like dry
mopping the room next door and we were like, there's
more over here, and they were like, oh my god,
and yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
It was.
Speaker 8 (37:32):
It was a mess.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Wow, It's actually more common than you think at hotels. Yeah,
bathtub even the bathtub. Yeah. We had a list of, like,
you know, the kind of the worst hotel things that
could happen, and one of them, Yeah, Timmy should have
called Lisa though when it happened.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
My parents have a house in Mexico.
Speaker 11 (37:45):
You guys just need to be quiet because I know
everything about Mexico.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
I would have helped him out.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Let's go to Natalie Line one. Natalie, good morning, thank
you for joining the show.
Speaker 7 (37:57):
Hi, good morning guys.
Speaker 10 (37:58):
My husband and I were married.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
In Las Vegas and it was like the best decision
we ever paid, just.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
So you guys, Yeah, just the two of us.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
We went on Friday, we got married Friday night, and
then we had the whole week for just like gambling shows.
Speaker 20 (38:11):
We went to the Grand Canyon.
Speaker 8 (38:12):
It was it was awesome.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
Can I ask you a question about that.
Speaker 11 (38:15):
Do you have to illegally get married in the state
where you live and then you get married in Vegas
or is it legal in Vegas?
Speaker 7 (38:22):
No, it's it's leo. Like, we got our wedding license
out in Vegas, but then when we came back, like
we got it blessed in the church a year later.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
But we didn't have to do anything in Massachusetts. Oh
that's great.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
It's just like in the country.
Speaker 10 (38:32):
So long as you get married in some state, it's legalator.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Marry you guys or know. I feel like I visioned that.
Speaker 12 (38:40):
I know it could have been part of the package,
but I opted for no longer.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Let's go to Jesse online three. Jesse has a destination
wedding coming up. Jesse.
Speaker 20 (38:51):
Good morning, Good morning. How are you guys.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
We're doing good. We're going. So you're getting married?
Speaker 20 (38:57):
Yeah, in sixty seven days, I'm getting I'm married in Jamaica,
but southern Jamaica, So it's not like the other caller.
So this place that we're getting married at, it's just
going to be us for the whole entire day. It's
just at the one wedding for the day, I think,
even for the weekend.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
And are people coming with you? Are you guys just
going you and your husband to be.
Speaker 20 (39:20):
We invited two hundred people. We're getting about eighty people
because we did a year in advance, like save the date,
and then like eight months out we did like here's
our wedding invitations and kept like reminding people, and we're
encouraging people to like come and make a vacation out
of it, like bring your kids, Like there's nanny's at
(39:41):
the place that we are getting married at. Like if
the parents want to kind of go off an adventure,
there's nanny's on the property that can take care of
their kids. And now it turns out a lot of
people are staying for about like a week or like
five days. So we're getting like a vacation with our
friends and family, which is what we wanted. So it's
worked out really well so far.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Exactly my thoughts to you. So I love that, Yeah,
I think. I think Also, you know, if you if
you have a destination wedding and you invite people and
then you get upset when they don't come, that's a
different story. You have to be understanding, right least absolutely, Like, Mikey,
you're not upset that I'm not going right?
Speaker 6 (40:14):
No, definitely not everything they text me saying they're not coming.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
You're like, good, it's all about the money.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Anyway. We will wrap up the show at nine twenty
five and have more on the destination weddings as Miley Cyrus.
