Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now best morning show in Boston, Billie and Lisa in
the morning. It's just a great start.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
To my day on Kids one away.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Well, good morning everybody. Here we go. It's the Big
Friday Show. And when it's the Big Friday Show, Lisa,
the tradition is it's also New Music Friday, which we love.
And that's why we probably won't have Justin speaking to
us this morning at all, because he's going to be
in there putting together new Music Friday. Is that right, Justin,
He's not speaking right now. We're not going to start Friday.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I'm not speaking right now.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah. Well that was a little joke.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Oh I can speak. Oh there you are there, I
am there, I am Yeah. New Music Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah. Oh did you think I was eliminating you from
the conversation.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Yeah, I thought you said, don't speak until your moment comes.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
No, I was kidding. I was saying that you're so busy,
because you're so dedicated to New Music Friday, we want
to cut you some slack if you need it.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Well, thank you. I'm dedicated to the show.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, hey, listen up cold huh.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, it's going to be freezing today. The windshell is
going to make it feel like it's in the twenties.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Isn't it going to be cold all weekend?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
It's going to be cold out there.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I actually I actually like it, you do? I don't
mind it?

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Like where's your limit?

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Like when do you start to hate it?

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Is it going to be teens or twenties?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Twenties?

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Twenties isn't bad?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, you got to worry about what it feels like
with the wind. Yeah you got that Canada goose.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
I have Canada goose.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
But you know, I have the cold plunge in the back,
and it's there's something really it's hard to do.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
But you know, I get in when it's freezing, and well.

Speaker 7 (01:32):
I hate the cold.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
I have to say, I just.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Just spice it. Yeah. So when it gets cold enough,
does the the ice bath ever freeze?

Speaker 4 (01:41):
It does, But I have this kind of neat one
where it's fully insulated, so it doesn't fully freeze all
the way through, just the top. So I have a
sledgehammer that I break the ice with it.

Speaker 6 (01:52):
It's a whole ritual. It sounds really weird, but I
break the ice and then I jump in.

Speaker 8 (01:57):
Great.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Okay, it's like you go ice fishing kind.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Of every day, and how long do you stay in?

Speaker 4 (02:02):
About five minutes?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Oh my god, I remember when you were doing like
a minute.

Speaker 7 (02:06):
That's insane.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Yeah, oh my god.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
It really sucks the first minute. It really does. I
mean I'm not making it seem like it's easy. But
once that gets through, you know, you get to a minute,
two minutes, three minutes, then you get out and you feel.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Really, I'm convinced you get a high off of it.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I do, well, you really do. That's why I do it. Yeah,
you get a dopamine rush.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
I just couldn't.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I couldn't do, said Donovan. I couldn't put It's not
in your vocabulary. You can do anything.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I've done cold plunges and I've literally been in for
like thirty seconds, and I'm like.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
Okay, well, you work your way up. That's you don't
start like a cycle like oh man.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
So you get into water that's already frozen solid and
you break it up.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
That's tall lay But then the total temp is around
thirty four degrees.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Oh my god, you should do one of those polar plunges.
It'd be like warm for you. When people are go
into the ocean in the middle of the winter.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
It could well, isn't that what Like the sweetish shower
is like you get in a hot shower and then
get into a cold shower and then back into a
hot shower. Did I just make that up?

Speaker 4 (03:04):
That's what I do.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Yeah, go in the ice to the hot It is
a little embarrassing that I go out there and then
you know, I'm in my underwear. It's dark out, you know,
it's just me, and then I jump in the ice
and I look up and I just see my daughter
looking at me in the window.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Like, Okay, when she gets older, she's gonna be so embarrassed.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Do you think have you ever considered the possibility that
some of your neighbors think you're the weird person in
the neighborhood.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Well, one doesn't like him, and the other one you
cut her grass and maybe she doesn't care.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
Yeah, but there's one next to her where he's always
out there looking at me while I'm in the ice.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
I just don't care. It's my own property in my underwear.
I just well, you're like the Rambo of the neighborhood.
I had one of those when I lived in Rambo. Yeah,
whereas kids, you know, four years old, we're driving Harley's.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
You know, you're a immediate next door neighbor that like
looks into your backyard.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I think she has like great Danes or something. She
has a bunch of dogs. Does she like you?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Oh Carol, Oh that's Carol.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
One more question on that she has eight dogs in
our house. Yeah, okay, she has four Dalmatians, a giant Rottweiler,
and two pugs.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
Yeah, it's a lot of dog fits and I think
a cat anyway.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I know I joke, but.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
That is so really that's what I made. Okay, So
one more question on the neighborhood thing. Do you think
there's a possibility there are some parents in your cul
de sac because you're in a cul de sac, right,
uh huh, that tell their children not to hang around
with you.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
There are at least.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Stay away from that house. He does weird things.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
No, that's until summertime when they have the pool. Oh,
go ahead, go to the pool.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Then everybody wants.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
To everybody's able's friend from May to September.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Now, we try to look out for that. We don't
want that to happen.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
We know you don't want that.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
We don't want that to But even when they're sending
them to your pool. They're at least saying just stay
away from the father. He's a little odd. Now, I'll
bet there are no Yeah, they see you when you're
underwear againting into a nice cold plunge and you know, like,
let's face it, you kind of awe them.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Listen, I own it. I'm weird as they can.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Yeah, but I like doing it. And you know what,
I live under the kind of thought of do what
you love.

Speaker 7 (05:15):
Yea, at least you're not going naked.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Yeah. Yeah, Oh, everybody talks about me. Yeah. It all
is with the stupid pillows and you know what I mean. Okay,
So it's a big day for you. It's New Music Friday.
Can you give us a tease?

Speaker 6 (05:32):
Well, the jingle Ball is coming up next weekend, so
we're excited for that. And one of the artists that
we're excited to see has some brand new music that.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I will feature.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Oh I'm glad I asked in New Music Friday.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, and entertainment is coming up. We got so much

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh now, the entertainment update with the Villy Copstep, Yeah,
you know, we haven't talked about that a lot.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
We've changed the music around. We're kind of playing around
with it right. A lot of people are noticing it.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yes, we are just chun it up.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Yeah, I mean there's a lot of music, yeah, new,
you know, ten years old, twenty years old, So we
throw it all on one playlist.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
You know what we're doing. We're celebrating the music. That's
what we do. Okay, you've got to talk about jingle
Ball a little more than a week away. The jingle
Ball is next Sunday. In the TV Garden, we got
Megan Trainer, Kesha twenty one pilot's kid Leroy Benson Boone.
By the way, Tate McCrae, who was in the new
Holiday Skims campaign, talks about how it happened with Kim Kay.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, we DM a couple of times.

Speaker 8 (07:33):
Yeah, we just kind of like they reached out and
they were like, do you want to do a holiday campaign?
And I was like duh, Like I've been the biggest
fan of Skims for so long and to just do
a shoe like that with a director like Harmony Koran
was so cool and it was just like I'm like,
the holiday campaign it's just cute. It's fun, Like all
the sets are just really cute.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
So we have.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Fund She looked hot in those pictures.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
So great, She'll be good Next Sunday jingle Ball TD
Garden Benson Boone flipping his way into jingle Ball. Uh,
don't forget he does the backflips on stage? And how
and when did that start? My dad? I'm very close
to my parents.

Speaker 10 (08:10):
My dad started doing flips when I was a little,
a little boy, and I thought he was the coolest.
So when I was like three, I would try them
off my couch and it progressed and progressed to.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
The front yard and then on stage. Anybody here ever
done a backflip from a stand standstill?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
No, that takes a certain amount of skill.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
I feel a.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Lot of core power to drive it.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I've done it in water before. I mean, yeah, how
many backflips you and the water plenty?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Yeah, anyone could do it in the water.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
She loves just knock you down. Sabrina Carpenter's Christmas Special
arrives tonight on Netflix nine o'clock tonight. She was in
New York for the premiere last night. She's also been
named iHeart Media's Artist of the Year twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
She had an amazing year.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
It makes sense, boy, you gotta admit between she and Taylor.
Who have they owned the year? I think Sabrina and Taylor.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
You gotta be honest. I was a little annoyed. I
did not know it was a nine o'clock premiere. I
just saw it was December sixth. I thought it was
going to hit at midnight, so you know, I was
gonna pull some clips. We're gonna have some fun not
till night.

Speaker 7 (09:29):
They're making you wait.

Speaker 3 (09:30):

and Greedy by Tate McCrae was the.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Most played song.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Oh my god, isn't that interesting? We're in sync with success? Yeah, yeah,
it's amazing. And it's New Music Friday and justin you've
got something from one of our jingle ball artists, right,
something new.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Yeah, we started with the jingle ball in everyone that's
coming in. One of those artists is Kesha. She dropped
the brain new song and I want to get this
in first because when she plays this, if she plays it,
which she might at Dingleball along with her other hits,
when she plays this anthem, you're gonna hear it now
and then be able to sing along at.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
The TD Garden next weekend.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
It's called delusional big voice.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yeah, it's reminding me of some other medally.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Though, every song reminds Bill of another.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Yeah, because every song does remind.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
You of I'm pointing that out because I want the listeners. Now,
you're gonna pick up on it. Every time you play
a song, he goes that reminds me of a different song.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
It's gonna hit me. It's gonna come to me. It's
gonna come to.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Okay, we'll wait for it. Another big voice is Jozier. Yeah,
this guy's got a powerful one, and he's got a
brand new track. You'll hear it first right here on Kiss.
It's called him to Virgil.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
I kind of like it, you know. He I feel
like he should be singing in a church. Yep, definitely,
like he could take a church.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
My song was take Me to take.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Me to Church.

Speaker 7 (11:22):
It's kind of has to take me to church vibes.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah, and in the choir he'd get all the solos.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
Yeah, big voice, man, big voice, all right, one more
to get to here. So I feel like everyone's going
country these this year, right. You had Beyonce, Post.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Malone, and now Quavo, Quavo of mis Okay, ready for
this collaboration. I don't think you are. Quavo, Luke Bryan
and Teddy Swims all three of them together for a
new song. It's called Georgia Way's Grave.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
The video is really funny, you know, Quabos riding around
with Luke Bryant the cowboy hat, Georgia Way's.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Interesting of people and Georgia.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Listen to this show.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
By the way, I live in Georgia and I rely
on you guys every morning.

Speaker 7 (12:24):
Oh I love that. I love Georgia.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I was just in Georgia, Savannah. Yeah, yeah, beautiful town.
Getting back to that Kesha song, Could it be Wrecking
Ball that I'm thinking of?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Oh, i'd have to.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, we're gonna come on. I came in like.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
Similar.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I mean they're both anthem sounding.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah, I guess you know. Well, let's let it go.
Alex Charlie XX apparently has nerve damage from the tour
We've got to talking about.

Speaker 11 (12:57):
I find the stage she these days to be a
very angry place for me. I've done a lot of
like physical damage to my body from performing, and I'm
often in a lot of pain when I perform, genuinely,
like physically, I have a nerve damage in my neck
from things that I've done on the stage.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
She's done our shows, hasn't she trying?

Speaker 7 (13:17):
She did a while ago.

Speaker 3 (13:18):

and Lisa, you came in this morning and said you
saw Amy Adams talking about being in Well, she was.

Speaker 2 (14:01):

coming out this weekend called Night Bitch, which is really
weird movie.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
What's the name of the.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Movie, Night Bitch.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's about a mom who thinks she's turning into a
dog in the middle of the night.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Okay, Amy, but she wouldn't play Taylor. Well, I think
you were talking about it here.

Speaker 12 (14:20):
There's a big online petition going around the campaign for
you to play Taylor Swift's publicist Tree Pain in a biopic.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Oh that would be amazing.

Speaker 12 (14:29):
Yeah, look this is this is a tweet this from
Hunter Harris, and she says Amy Adams, will Win and
Oscar for tree Pain's biopick.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
That would be so fun.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
I would I.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Mean, I mean, I love tree Pain.

Speaker 13 (14:42):
If it got me closer to Taylor, then that would
be are you?

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Are you Taylor Swift?

Speaker 13 (14:48):
I mean I've always liked her music and appreciated her,
and then I went to the eRASS tour. A friend
of mine had a ticket, and then I became like
a swifty.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
At fifty Swift.

Speaker 13 (15:00):
I'm swift Atty, So I'm like a shifty fifty swifty
like that.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
She's amazing.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Harry Styles has a new fashion collection called Pleasing, and
it includes nail polishes, sweaters, and a hand bell.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
He's had the website for a while.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
He's had Pleasing for a while, but now he's doing
Collapse and he actually hired one of Gwyneth Paltrow's people
from Goop recently.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
That just makes you think of the scene in them,
who don't worry Darling, you a pleaser?

Speaker 2 (15:30):
That guy, it's a good name for He certainly came
across as they're actually sure to say, I'm a pleaser.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Stop at Harry Teasing.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Now, Jamie Fox has a Netflix special coming out December tenth,
and we've got a clip from the trailer.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Condition of actor Jamie Fox.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
The family members rushed at a hospital.

weeks and in Atlanta hospital.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Jermy Fox literally died and I'm so glad to see
y'all here.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
I'm so glad to be here. What had happened was, Yeah,
he's supposed to tell everybody what happened when he was
rushed to the hospital and kind of disappeared for a
couple of months.

Speaker 6 (16:25):
Well, I'm curious to watch because there's some yeah, you know,
there's some talks that he made a joke, but maybe
wasn't joking about P Diddy drugging him.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yeah, said he was poisoned by P Diddy.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Some say that were there that it was a joke,
but others say he wasn't joking.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
But he was a part of the Diddy parties, right,
he was a regular. I mean, he ran in those
circles yeah. Uh. And yesterday we talked about Eddie Murphy's
daughter being engaged to Martin Lawrence's son, apparently vice versa.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Oh it's the other one, Eddie Murphy's son.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yeah, she just waits there, billy.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
I know no, No, I just want to I want
to get it. I just want to get it correct.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
You know what she is night bitch or a day bitch,
any day of the anytime of the day.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Anyway, Martin Lawrence is going to pick up the tab
on the wedding. Yeah, he said, I gotta pay for
it because he he paid for his last daughter's web
like the last six wedds. So what they got to
do with you?

Speaker 4 (17:22):
But he said, it's my turn now, so you can
feel I don't mind.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I like you step it up.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Yeah, and that finally reports a Bill. Bill Belichick is
in talks to possibly head coach at the u NC
tar Heel.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
That's That's all I wanted to talk about yesterday. He's
never been a college coach. They're not known for it's basketball. Yeah,
it's not like it's Alabama, right.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Also, do they have a cheerleading team?

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Maybe he's in talks to his girlfriend on the cheerleading team.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
How funny you say that they had their first right
carpet appearance last night together.

Speaker 7 (18:02):
It was the Natural History Museum gala.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Yeah, oh, excuse me, Hey, don't forget. We've got three
chances at jingle Ball tickets. Jingle Ball is just a
week away now and it's happening at seven ten, eight ten,
and nine ten. In my chair just collapsed. But we're
brought to you by Boston Vision. Say hello to Clarity
with Lasik surgery at Boston Vision. It's where the pros
go to get their lasik, including our new head coach.

(18:25):
Well he's not so new anymore, is he? And neither
was this script. But Girard Mao went there for his
lasik and you can too. And by the way, if
you mentioned Coach Mayo's name, you get three hundred bucks
off your procedure. And there you go.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Night Betch from the Planet Fitness Kiss one Away Studios.

Speaker 2 (18:44):

ticket tag is alive, and we've got a pair of

(19:08):
tickets right now. And I'm gonna call a name. It's
part of the ticket tag. That name is Jfino Dot
photo Boom. It's done, and that person has exactly fifteen
minutes to get back to us. And Producer Riley is
standing by. She's got the clock running as of right now. Okay,
and while we wait, justin you've got a list of

(19:29):
the strange words or pronunciations.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Well, I feel like every day we have new lists
of the you know, the end of the year lists.
This one's great. It's the most mispronounced words of twenty
twenty four. Okay, all right, I'll put you guys to
the test and see how you do.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
So I won't say the word.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
I'll just describe it, and I think you should be
able to get it and then try to pronounce it.
Some of these are really tough, okay.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
And people can play along at home early long.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
Yeah, this is an official game. Just we'll have some fun.
These are the most mispronounced words of twenty twenty four.
We'll start with Lisa. She said, this artist sings the
song Hot to Go and good Luck Babe. How do
you say her name?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Chapel Roane, Chapel Roane. That is correct, thank you.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
A lot of people were saying Rowan, Yeah, no, Chapelle.
They really weren't.

Speaker 7 (20:19):
Chapel Roon.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Yeah, yeah, Chapel Roane, Chapel Roon. There it is, Billy.
This politician lost the election to Donald Trump in twenty
twenty four.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
How do you say the name Kamala Harris? What is it?
Kamala Harris?

Speaker 4 (20:36):
One more time?

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Kamala Harris, Kamala Harris.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Good job, Billy, Okay, Yeah, there was a lot of
misproblem pronunciation.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
There were times in the beginning that.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
You know, he was looking for me to fail.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Well, you were mispronouncing you.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
You were a lot in like October and September never mispronounced.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Yeah, a lot of people did. Yeah intentionally.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
That's why I'm we're setting the record straight here.

Speaker 6 (21:01):
Okay, Winnie, Let's see if I can describe this for you.
It is one of the biggest Chinese founded fashion giants
that people.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Oh my god, I know, I know what it is.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
I just ordered stuff for jingle Ball from there, and
I always say that.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
She and.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
Yeah, very good. I didn't know that. I thought it
was yeah, yeah, I thought it was she. Yeah, okay,
this one might be a little tough, Lisa. This god
politician is the transportation secretary. What how do you say
his name?

Speaker 3 (21:34):

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Oh, booted judge, booted judge.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
A final answer, boota judge.

Speaker 7 (21:50):

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, yeah, okay, Yeah, that one's tough.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Yeah. I don't think you'll be seeing him much longer.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
I didn't.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
I didn't actually think he was still.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
There looking for transport now, well, no one's gonna have
a job.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
That was in another the other very he didn't.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
A couple more real quick, Billy, this person, this actor
just recently this week actually broke up with Sabrina Carpenter.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
How do you say his name?

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Oh a Barry Barry, Okay, Bill, there you go.

Speaker 6 (22:29):
Yeah, that one was was Yeah. Yeah, I think I
think I did too. In the beginning. We started talking
about it. Lastly, winning, I think you should get this
one right. But this is the main ingredient or the
active ingredient in ozempic starts with.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
An s semi glue tie.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Semi glue tie is incorrect? Incorrect, It is not semi
It looks like whatever glue. So there you go.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Okay, so I got if we actually wasn't an.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Official game competition. You all did great. But now you
know how to pronounce these.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
And everybody else at home and in their cars.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Another one I should mention on the list is Zendaiya.
Yeah it's at It's Zendaiya, but I thought it was Zendaya.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
I did.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
I've always and you know what.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
The biggest one pop star name that everyone pronounces wrong
is Rihanna.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
It's not Rihanna, it's Rihanna.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
It's Rihanna.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
That is coc for I I know, you know, it's weird.
Initially she was okay with Rihanna. She was saying Rihanna,
and then one day she just surfaced into.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Let's say no, this is this is when she was
really young.

Speaker 7 (23:38):
Hey billy, it's Rihanna.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Why don't you go ahead and put my record on?

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yeah, which we did.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
It's Rihanna.

Speaker 7 (23:44):
Rihanna.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Yeah, that's it. That's a yeah, so they got most
mispronounced words.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
That was fun.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
There anymore lists than there?

Speaker 4 (23:53):
You know what, next week there'll be more less and
I'll keep keeping coming. But coming up next with talking
Christmas covers, not only the good ones, but the really
bad ones to.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Kiss.

Speaker 14 (24:06):
I have been waiting for you guys to talk about
Christmas songs. I know that you're asking about the favorite covers,
but I have been dying to say something about Katy
Perry's cover of White Christmas. It has got to be
the worst Christmas song I ever heard. I turn off
the radio every time it comes on.

Speaker 15 (24:25):
I didn't know if anybody else felt the same.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Anyone know that one? Ge that's pretty bad. That's pretty bad.
We'll talk about Christmas covers.

Speaker 6 (24:44):
Actually, you know what, Winnie a new lists. It's the
month of lists of the worst Christmas covers. Some of
these are surprising, some not so much. How about this
one New Kids on the Block? Okay, thank you for
Monkey Christmas. That's on the list of the worst.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Yeah, not good.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
I can see that we That is a beloved track
I feel like, especially in Boston.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Yeah for Christmas. I get requests. I already got one
this year. Really we start playing Christmas song for that song,
funky funky Christmas.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
When was the last time anyone used the word funky.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Nineteen eighty It's nostalgia rights, nostalgic.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Yeah, hey, you think about Christmas. Also on the list,
Justin Bieber's Missiletoe the worst as a bad Christmas cover.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
The holiday but the case stop staring, that's your face.

Speaker 14 (25:40):
I should be playing in the winter snow probably.

Speaker 7 (25:44):
And I actually like that song. I don't know why
that's on the bad list.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
I kind of like it.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
Actually, that whole his Whole Christmas album one of the
best Christmas albums ever.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
I didn't make the list.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
That's a great in their defense, right, the bad ones.
You have to understand these artists are called in their management. Look,
you gotta just Christmas music. Everybody does. And they just
hand them these songs and they can win the studio
for a few minutes and bang them out. Okay.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
Also on the list Maroon five Happy Christmas The War
is Over.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
I came in at number two.

Speaker 8 (26:15):
Christmas and happy.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
News makes me want to go to war?

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Really, Adam, Yeah, I don't think that's getting on.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
I don't think Adam has a very close connection to Christmas.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
The number one worst Christmas cover, according to Rolling Stone
is Jessica Simpson with the Little Drummer Boy.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Just Get.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Before.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
It's so bad.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
You watch her and Ashley Simpson and they did on
some like you know Christmas show, like twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
It's so bad.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yeah, So there you go. Those are the worst. Let's
get the best.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Okay, Lisa, do you.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Have one you like?

Speaker 7 (27:13):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (27:13):
I think one of the best covers is by Sam
Smith and it's have Yourself a Christmas.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
I love the voice of an angel. Oh maybe Little Christmas.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
Let you.

Speaker 9 (27:35):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Here's the thing I love like. I love the song,
but when he sings it, as much as I love
his voice, it doesn't sound very merry. I finds me
want to cry.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
I agree, spiritual maybe, but in a very like holy, spiritual,
beautiful way.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
Good description, Lisa. I think so Bill likes chestnuts roasting
on an up and fire. I think the favor family
connection there for you, right, my dad's favorite song.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
Yeah, and you know there's been many covers of it,
but one that we just discovered is from Chapel Roone
Chapel ro Before she was famous, she was very young.
She did a live concert, like a very small not
like an official concert, but it was in a live performance,
and she covered that song.

Speaker 8 (28:30):
Live.

Speaker 6 (28:35):
Beautiful voice, beautiful voice. I forgot to ask what her
favorite is. That's okay, you want to put me on
the spot.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
No, no, no, no. You're good about the Jonas Brothers
Christmas album and.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
We played that yesterday with that, you know, well, mine's
no brainer, of course, Little John all I want for Christmas?

Speaker 8 (29:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (29:00):
All oh man, we're coming up on topic time. Everybody's
got favorites, all right. I love this show. We went
from Sam Smith with the Angelic Holy Voice. It's a
little job.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
It's called diversity. It's a mix.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
It's a mix, okay, and everybody has a favorite, everybody
has a worst holiday song. And now it's the time
to shine.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Six month seven nine three one one month? O? Wait,
justin how did they get there? To talk back? Mike?

Speaker 4 (29:29):
And so you can visit us and leave a talk
back a voice message on the iHeart app. Just tap
that red microphone excuse me, yeah and press send. That'll
come to me. I'll put you on the radio.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Top Time.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Next to today, we're going to be talking Billy and
Lisa present Topic.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Time, Talk amongst yourselves Topic Time. Okay, so we were
talking about Justin had a list of the worst holiday
or Christmas cover songs, and then we're talking about some
of the worst, we're talking about some of the best.
And let's face it, holiday season, we're gonna be hearing
a lot of Christmas music. People are putting together their
playlists for the holidays, and we are here to help.

(30:07):
So let's start with Sarah. Sarah, good morning. Where are
you calling from?

Speaker 2 (30:11):
I am calling from Boston traffic right now?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Oh yeah, stuck in traffic? Where all you make sure
Lisa's got this one? Are you stuck in a big jam?

Speaker 12 (30:20):
I'm not a big jam right now.

Speaker 13 (30:21):
I just got off the eggs that I'm heading to Watertown.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Okay, So what do you think about Christmas songs? What
have you got for us?

Speaker 4 (30:27):
So mine's a little controversial because in my mind, Kelly
Clarkson can do no wrong.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
However, the Underneath the Tree by Kelly Clarkson is the
most annoying song.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
In the world.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Really, that's surprising.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Imagine that.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yeah, that's actually one of my favorites.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Oh, I like this song. It's happy. That's wrong with
it's Sarah?

Speaker 8 (30:54):
It is.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
But in college I worked at Bats and body Works
during like Christmas season, and it was okay, I hear it.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
You know what, as a radio team, we can feel
your pain because we have songs like that.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Now, well, sour thank you for the calling, thank you
for listening, and have a great day.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
That does get very much Bathroom body Works.

Speaker 9 (31:25):
But it does.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
There for creating.

Speaker 7 (31:29):
I remember you did.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Why are you that?

Speaker 3 (31:31):
Good morning, guys.

Speaker 8 (31:32):
I think one of the most beautiful holiday songs is
Hallelujah by Carrie Underwood and John Legend.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
If you've never heard it, check it out. It's gorgeous.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Anybody heard that one?

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yes, well, I went to the John Legends.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Do you know that one? Bill?

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Sure? And oh sweet songs. Okay, I'm not a fan
of that one.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Well maybe at the Hallelujah part it made you got
that he had no idea what that.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
Moving. The interesting thing about the John Legend Christmas show
now i'm thinking of it, it was beautifully stage right,
it was at the Wayang Center Box Center Wang Theater.
He only did one Christmas song, and I'm like, I
thought this was a Christmas show, and Michelle was complaining
for like six weeks. Yeah, never go to that Christmas
show again. He only did one Christmas song.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
It was a Christmas show.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah, it was this Christmas spectacular. Oh wow.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
Yeah, before we move on to the next thing, Producer
Riley came in to remind me of last year.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
We were talking about Christmas songs.

Speaker 6 (32:44):
It was our first Christmas with us, and we were
all talking about our favorites, and she told Billy and
I that her favorite was River by Joni Mitchell, and
we made fun of her for like a whole week
about it.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
But she that's this song right here by the way,
make again for the next week.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah it is Riley like a young hippie yea.

Speaker 8 (33:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (33:12):
But she did mention that Olivia Rodrigo did cover that
song a few years ago River.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
How is Christmas?

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Though I'm not really sure there is a Christmas connection,
because there has to be. Well she explained it to me,
Producer Riley, But once she said that this was her
favorite Christmas song, I stopped listening exactly. I just I
just was done.

Speaker 12 (33:34):
Anyway, my favorite Christmas cover isn't really a cover, but
It's Lisa's frustrated holiday song.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
This place, that place, this place, this place. I'm a machine. Yeah,
I love you guys.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
We haven't played that.

Speaker 7 (33:46):
It needs an honorable mention.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
December sixth, we haven't played it.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Oh my god. It's the most wonderful time.

Speaker 10 (34:01):
Love Chris.

Speaker 8 (34:05):
One.

Speaker 7 (34:06):
You have to be at this place, this place, this place.
We never got the items.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Place, this place, this place.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
We should take that and sell it. It's about three
minutes long.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
If we didn't get that talk back, would we have
remembered to play it? That's tradition on this show.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
What's funny. I always forget every year, and I feel
like every year we are reminded by the listener.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
It is the best Christmas song of all time because
it really speaks to what people says.

Speaker 7 (34:31):
It articulates how we're all feeling.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
Everybody's busy, yeah yeah, stressed out, all the gifts never ends.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
My favorite pick for the best Christmas cover ever is
Josh Grobin's Holy Night Every single time chills tears. He's amazing.

Speaker 15 (34:47):
Thanks for letting me talk back.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
And have a great day.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Well, thank you for talking back, and I got about ten,
you know, suggestions for this one. Real Holy Night by Josh.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
He has a very Christmas voice.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Are we familiar? Yeah, I know, I know Josh Robin
Well he just kind of bugs me. But he has
a beautiful voice.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
With Josh Grobays a little odd all right, the stars up.

Speaker 9 (35:14):
Right, sh.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
It's very I mean, he definitely has that sound. He
raised me up though.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
We'll literally make you.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
It's like kind of sad though.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Oh yeah, do you have any booble Christmas in there?

Speaker 4 (35:33):
I'm sorry. It's hard to do a show with Billy.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
No, because he used to always be on the talk
shows trashing every used to be Kee was.

Speaker 7 (35:41):
To have a talk Kelly's co host, and he's very funny.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Yeah, he would feeling a lot for Kelly, was going nerdy.
It's like, it's like the Carrie Underwood song we just played.
You know, we played the talk back and I'm like,
you guys know that. Bill's like, oh I know that song. Yeah,
I know that song I played. He's like.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
River, Yeah, yeah, No, that's a great No, I know
that is a good song. You don't have Christmas there, No,
I don't have to not do that.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
No, that's actually messed up because no, I have b
but it's about the listeners and the talk backdcast before
be Hi, guys.

Speaker 15 (36:23):
My favorite Christmas song is by Celo Green Mary.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Did you know?

Speaker 1 (36:29):
It is a beautiful song? Merry Christmas, Celo Green covered Mary?

Speaker 8 (36:35):
Do you you know?

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
I got to hear this.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
I want to hear it.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
I have You're be.

Speaker 9 (36:45):
What side to.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
You forget?

Speaker 5 (36:49):
He can sing because all you remember is from is
like those weird songs, and then like I've been driving around.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Town and we forget you.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, I forget your song.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Yeah. It makes me Christmas to be older. He has
a nice voice, but I think if you're planning your
holiday party at the house, you can do it without
see Lo Green.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
I'm just by somebody whose birthday is literally Christmas Eve.
You're such a grinch.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
This is why I love Christmas.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
I have to say that Last Christmas is my most
favorite Christmas song, and there have been a lot of covers.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Of it, but that do not do it justice. I
can't think of one that I could be better.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Original is the best.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Yeah, the best is that Wham.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Isn't the anniversary of the.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Song forty years this week?

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Forty years this week?

Speaker 13 (37:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yes, Christmas?

Speaker 4 (37:43):
I love this song that's a classic.

Speaker 15 (37:46):
That is my all time favorite Christmas album will always
be by ninety eight Degrees. None of them are relevant
right now, but there's something about that album that just
puts me into the holiday spirit.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
I will say their gift songs pretty good.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
This gift, Yes, this.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Gifts Yeah, that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Maybe I was a little girl and like that was
they were like.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
They have to be down on their knees.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
You know they're right now, Bill, What do I proposed
on Christmas?

Speaker 3 (38:22):
I was down on you were proposing just the thought
of Christmas. Have them collapse to their knees, you know,
Like what is that called?

Speaker 4 (38:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (38:32):
But when I proposed on Christmas, I had this whole idea,
had this whole picture of how it was going to go.
I had this whole plan. I did the plan, but
I was in my underwear because we had just woken
up and it was just me and my wife, and
so I was I got down on a knee in
my underwear, and I felt so awkward because I looked
at the door.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
It was glass, and I saw my reflection and I
botched it. Yeah, you didn't have a second to slip
on some pajamas or something.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
It's just I got up, we got coffee, I was
in my underwear.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
I don't know what to do. Were you already admiring
your body at that time?

Speaker 8 (39:05):
No?

Speaker 4 (39:05):
No, no, I was fat then, you know you weren't
that fat then? Yeah, I was pretty fat. I wasn't
like Orca fat, and I was probably pushing three hundred fat. Yeah,
like the Dollar Menu and me. We had a great,
good relationship Christmas special. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
All right, one more thing to wrap up at nine
point forty this morning, but good segment everybody.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
I just want to wake good morning, Happy Friday.
