and we got to see the Colombian ship tall ship
leaving Boston. They were separating from the dark into the harbor.

Maybe you can handle yourself one of them first class tickets.

You know what's cool though, The entire crew on board
the ship we're singing collectively. I think it was their anthem.
It was really cool as they were pulling off the
dock and heading into the harbor and they're all singing
and waving to Boston. Yeah and thanking us.

That's so cool. My wife and mother and her mom
are going today. Oh good for lunch to see the
tall ships.

Yeah, one last day to view the ships until nine
o'clock tonight and the fireworks over the harbor will be

great summer in the city.

mind and then he directed it while we were there
with his heart, and that was just gorgeous.

Yeah, they credit him with the vision and the work
ethic on set.

This has to be one of his biggest movies, and

It was the hardest, most challenging movie I've ever been
a part of. But it was hard for everybody, like
the crew. I've never been more proud to be a
part of a crew. They were because we shot it
all in imax. We were in six different countries, and
Chris Nolan does everything in camera, so he doesn't do
cgi like if there are boats in the background, boats,
they're real boats.

And if there's a thousand people.
Speaker 8 (11:13):
Fighting, there were a thousand people, yeah, fighting.
Speaker 10 (11:15):
It was incredible.

Can you tell everyone you told me this, you Jimmy
when you see the scene when these like soldiers rise
up out of the ground, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they're
actual actors, buried in the ground with straws to breathe.

Yeah, they were buried. They had snorkels.

There were stunt people, and and and when we did
that shot, I don't want to give too much away,
I know, really cool. But when we did that shot,
you know, obviously safety is the first thing. So the
stun people were buried and everyone had a safety person
on them and they set a timer from when the
first person got covered, you know, just in case the
snorkel didn't work. They all worked fine, but but you know,
it was like a redundancy to make sure everyone was

okay and just in case someone couldn't get out.

We shot that and so when you see these like,
you know, these these shades, their ghosts are basically rising
up out of the black sand.

Yesterday we had Tom Holland talking about doing scenes with

saw him and I was kind of on this boat
all day, separated from the crew, and he was he.

we reconnected, and I was like, yeah, that was a

We were visiting, we were visiting her family down there,
and I said, and the team that they support is
called Boca Junior and they were in the final and
I said, oh, you know, could we go to the game.

then he said, no women, no children.

Really and I was like, what okay?

And then I realized when I got there, like you
had to go through three lines.

Of riot police, and it was just absolutely.

Just like they take the game very seriously down there, really. Yeah,
in the stadium when we got in there, the best
seats in the house, like what would be like the
fifty yard line in our football.

And it was empty from like the fifty all the
way to the ten on each side. And I realized,
and so everyone was sitting kind of basically in the
end zones like our side and their side, and I
realized that was the distance they could throw things at
he each other, right, so and that was it was
the most and so our team won and at the end,
you know, they did the trophy presentation and all our

fans were still there. And then I turned to Hector
and I said, hey, can we go? And he goes, no,
we still have like ten more minutes. And I said
what do you mean? And they were like, they give
the other people a head start.

So his wife is from Argentina Loci.

Oh okay, I'm telling you. I mean even yesterday France lost.
And I always think when the team loses, what's it
going to be like when they go back to their country.

he was filming a movie. Came to the bar one night,

such a special moment that they're singing their anthem and
they're all up in the sales, waving and saying goodbye

to ball. I'm getting chills now just thinking about it.
And it was just such a cool moment, and it
just hit me, God, what an incredible two or three
weeks we've had in the city of Boston, between the
World Cup and the Tartan invasion and the invasion of
the kilts and sail Boston and the tall ships from
all over the world, and how it kind of put
a smile on everybody's face. It's been a really, really

happy period. And I got to thinking, God, what would
be my favorite moment of the past two or three
weeks between the World Cup and Sail Boston.

really goes to show you the connection that we made
to Scotland.

The first official welcoming ceremony for a traffic cone.

But it's a pretty special one, isn't it Because this
cone tells the story of what happened this summer.

This is not just a silly cone and we're all

They evacuated the entire esplanade. As I'm watching from vacation,
I'm like, okay, so all of these people that were
just chased out of the esplanade and the lawn, they
were up all night sleeping on the sidewalks waiting to
get on the esplanade, and then they delayed it until
four o'clock because of the heat, and I'm wondering did

they get their original spots back?

Well, if anyone knows, right, I mean, no, they can't

Yeah, the cones became a big deal because they were
putting them on all the statues, the sculptures and everything

So I worked for the Red Sox and by far
the highlight of my summer was the night they had
Scottish Heritage Night, the day after the Scots played and
won their soccer game. It was like nothing I had
ever seen in my life at Fenway Park. It was
so much fun. They are a great bunch of people

and did not stop singing the entire night.

It was so fun.

Yeah, remember the Fenway Park and then remember them going
out to the stadium. Did you like Stadium or what
was called Boston Stadium at the time. Just so colorful,

of them brings a smile to your face.

mind and then he directed it while we were there

Yeah, they credit him with the vision and the work
ethic on set.

It was the hardest, most challenging movie I've ever been
a part of. But it was hard for everybody, like
the crew. I've never been more proud to be a
part of a crew. They were because we shot it
all in imax. We were in six different countries, and
Chris Nolan does everything in camera, so he doesn't do
cgi like if there are boats in the background, boats,
they're real boats.

And if there's a thousand people.
Speaker 8 (11:13):
Fighting, there were a thousand people, yeah, fighting.

It was incredible.

Can you tell everyone you told me this, you Jimmy
when you see the scene when these like soldiers rise
up out of the ground, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they're
actual actors, buried in the ground with straws to breathe.

Yeah, they were buried. They had snorkels.

There were stunt people, and and and when we did
that shot, I don't want to give too much away,
I know, really cool. But when we did that shot,
you know, obviously safety is the first thing. So the
stun people were buried and everyone had a safety person
on them and they set a timer from when the
first person got covered, you know, just in case the
snorkel didn't work. They all worked fine, but but you know,
it was like a redundancy to make sure everyone was

okay and just in case someone couldn't get out.

We shot that and so when you see these like,
you know, these these shades, their ghosts are basically rising
up out of the black sand.

Yesterday we had Tom Holland talking about doing scenes with

all day, separated from the crew, and he was he.

we reconnected, and I was like, yeah, that was a

We were visiting, we were visiting her family down there,

in the stadium when we got in there, the best

fifty yard line in our football.

way to the ten on each side. And I realized,
and so everyone was sitting kind of basically in the
end zones like our side and their side, and I
realized that was the distance they could throw things at

the most and so our team won and at the end,
you know, they did the trophy presentation and all our

fans were still there. And then I turned to Hector
and I said, hey, can we go? And he goes, no,
we still have like ten more minutes. And I said
what do you mean? And they were like, they give
the other people a head start.

Oh okay, I'm telling you. I mean even yesterday France lost.

such a special moment that they're singing their anthem and
they're all up in the sales, waving and saying goodbye

to ball. I'm getting chills now just thinking about it.
And it was just such a cool moment, and it
just hit me, God, what an incredible two or three
weeks we've had in the city of Boston, between the
World Cup and the Tartan invasion and the invasion of
the kilts and sail Boston and the tall ships from
all over the world, and how it kind of put
a smile on everybody's face. It's been a really, really

happy period. And I got to thinking, God, what would
be my favorite moment of the past two or three
weeks between the World Cup and Sail Boston.

it was a big press conference at Logan Airport. The

really goes to show you the connection that we made
to Scotland.

The first official welcoming ceremony for a traffic cone.

But it's a pretty special one, isn't it Because this
cone tells the story of what happened this summer.

This is not just a silly cone and we're all

They evacuated the entire esplanade. As I'm watching from vacation,
I'm like, okay, so all of these people that were
just chased out of the esplanade and the lawn, they
were up all night sleeping on the sidewalks waiting to
get on the esplanade, and then they delayed it until
four o'clock because of the heat, and I'm wondering did

they get their original spots back?

Well, if anyone knows, right, I mean, no, they can't

So I worked for the Red Sox and by far
the highlight of my summer was the night they had
Scottish Heritage Night, the day after the Scots played and

ever seen in my life at Fenway Park. It was

Yeah, remember the Fenway Park and then remember them going
out to the stadium. Did you like Stadium or what
was called Boston Stadium at the time. Just so colorful,
so much fun. Marching through the streets of Boston with
the kilt invasion, so much to remember, and every one
of them brings a smile to your face.

I loved everything about the World Cup.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
I loved that soccer became.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Like a big thing in the US.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
We got excited to see all the other countries.

I absolutely loved it.
Speaker 12 (40:13):
We were away in Aruba and we watched the US
game there and it was so fun.

Everybody was in Jerseys.
Speaker 7 (40:23):
It was an absolute blast and it brought so many
people together and we were in another country.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
It was just the best. Yeah. And it seemed like
the teams in the World Cup were rooting kind of
for each other. There was no anger that was like.
It was such a really.
Speaker 5 (40:37):
Really cool All of the fan armies were very social
and yeah, it got along and I love it.
Speaker 6 (40:42):
I didn't see any arrests, the especial with the Scotts,
did you know. I didn't see any trouble.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
That's the point.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
It was just a beautiful time in Boston.
Speaker 6 (40:50):
Yeah, it really was. I know, it's kind of like
the tall ships leaving tonight and I know what like
with the mayor of the South End what you were saying,
it's like, what's what now.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
Is there's going to be a letdown? But then we're
going to have to just dive into August and the
rest of the summer and into the fall.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
But I got to tell you something.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
We will remember this time in Boston and surrounding areas
for a long time to come.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (41:12):
I think so too. By the way, my wife's and
mother in law going to the tall ships today. There
you go, they're going to check it out. So I
think they're going to Pier Peer eight per six six.
