Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay. Here we go after show and I'm looking at
Bill Costa.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Can I add this to my resume now? The after
show with Justin you can.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
It's a long resume that you have. I don't know
how you do it.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
All It's okay. I like doing this, you know something.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
I was telling somebody this at my house on Sunday,
you know, because you know, sometimes I like to poke
fun at you and we have each other don't really
it's fun. But I really had a new appreciation for
what you do when I shot your TV show.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
All right, you co hosted a show this past summer.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Like we do this radio show, which is a lot
of work. We get up early, it's a lot of work.
Then you leave and you shoot TV all day. You
have to drive to where you're going, oh yeah, set
up the cameras and then be the host and be
entertaining and then drive home.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
And usually every episode, whether it's Dining Playbook or Meet
Boston by the Way on nesson Saturday mornings at nine
and nine thirty back to back. But whenever I was
shooting an episode, it's multiple locations, right. You have to shoot,
you have to create the segment, do the piece and
then strike the set, pack everything up, and the crew
takes it to the next location, finds a parking space,
(01:13):
and then they have to carry it in reset. We
do a segment at that location, break it down, pack
it up, move to the third location. Usually four times every.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Homer Soode God, oh yeah, yeah, I it's new appreciation
for what you do. And think about this too. There
is a whole group or audience of people that don't
listen to the radio show. Don't listen to you on
the radio show, just watch you on TV. That's what
they know you as. That's interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, you know. And by the way, if you're one
of those people, I just want to let you know. Yes,
we're on every morning from six to ten. That's right
on Kissing to Wait, and you can listen on the podcast.
You can listen to us all over the world.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yes, seven days a week a podcast goes up, you know.
So Monday through Friday is the show. Saturday Morning Riley
producer Riley hosts the Best of the Week. She took
that over from me.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, I've got to listen to that.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, it's good. And she's on live on the show
from eight to nine Saturday mornings and then Sunday is
like a best of moments, like a classic billion Lisa
Show moment. And then and then Riley does the five
to six am every day before us.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Go produce a ry.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Well, she's been doing it. I did it for so long,
and I'm like enough, this is how I got my
foot in the door, this is how I got on
the air, Like, I need to focus on other things.
So that's it.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Can I ask you a question about your life?
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
This RV, this camper thing, you think you're going to
end up with it? I think I think you will
already own it. And she hasn't joyed it.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Well, this listener is dming her about a camper that
they have up in New Hampshire. She'll need my final approval,
and I don't think I'm going to give it to her.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Listen, I really believe she thinks she needs your final approval.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
I think so she loves me enough to let me
have the final decision.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Have you seen this campra that somebody wants to give you?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
It actually is beautiful. It's not it's not a fixer upper.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
It's actually the one I saw in a picture you sent. No,
not at all.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
No, it's it's actually nice. I don't know how much
they want for it. But I'm just not a camper guy.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Man. You know, I've never been a camper guy. I
don't like it, you know. When my boys, although I
will say this, at one point in your life, you're
going to start thinking about, Hey, wouldn't it be cool
to take the kids in an RV and you go
to like the Grand Canyon and all that. So other words,
you'd fly to the West Coast, rent the RV there.
(03:31):
You don't have to, you don't want to drive it
across country, rent the RV there, and then just tool
around for a week.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, I would do something like I thought about.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
That seriously for years and when boys were growing up,
and I regret to this day that I didn't do it.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Well, you are a big boat. You are a big boater,
so when you're camping on the water, right, So I'm
sure a lot of your vacations were spent on the boat.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Right.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
So I brought up the TV thing Bill because today
typically you have your food show, but you don't. You're
on DZ Food for Thought. So I mentioned that Bill's
the busiest guy I know. Yeah, how about this picture?
This Okay, So a day like today, he does not
have TV, and you don't have the food show after
the radio.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Show nobody busy news radio.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
So Bill considers this a day off.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
You know, I'm not even eating. You can ask my
wife Michelle, if all I have in the day is
the morning show. My brain thinks of it as a
day off. That's crazy, because you know, the Morning show,
we just have a ball. What do we do? We laugh,
We make people laugh for a living, and we change in,
you know, information, some of it valuable and important, some
(04:35):
of it nonsensical and funny. Right, you know, we'd like
to provide an escape with the billion Lisa the morning
show in the morning, so you know, coming in early,
I like the early hours. You know, those are my
favorite hours of the day typically. So if I'm just
coming in for the Billy and Lisa show on Kiss,
it's a day off.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Okay. So what's in the agenda for your big day off?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Nothing? Okay, I'm going to pick up Titus. He's a
good boy.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah, he's the best.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I'm going to pick up Titus. Give me shell of
break because a lot of days, you know, she's just
home all day with Titus and walking him and whatever.
So I'm gonna pick him up. We're gonna go to
the boat to a couple of projects. You know, fall
you got certain jobs you want to do on the boat.
So we're just gonna hang out. Maybe go have some
lunch somewhere outside, like at Pier.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Six, okay, oh with the tentacles.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeah, with the giant octopus tentacles hanging over the walls. Yeah.
So that'll do. And then I'll go home and I
think Michelle has a Latin dance tonight, Salsa dance at home, and.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Oh with Amari Travis.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Travis, she'll dance downstairs. We have our own gymnasium downstairs.
She'll dance, and Titus and I will have a party.
I'll make myself a cosmo. Yeah, I'll give him a
couple of surprise streets. And there's my day and night.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
There's your day out.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Oh and by the way, I'm all in on nineteen
twenty three. You gotta watch show.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I know, I'm so behind that.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
That means you have to watch the Yellow Watch, and
then the eighteen eighty three or whatever it was, and
now the nineteen twenty three. Yeah, it gets crazy.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Oh yeah, I know. I know, I'm way behind on that.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
A lot of threesomes.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Alright, I'm all in that. The Old West. Oh yeah, right,
I'm all in. I'm all in. Well, they had you know,
they had like prostitution and stuff way back then, and
that goes back especially during Prohibition.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yeah, because the booze was illegal and so was everything else.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
And Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are in. Oh and
one of the young girl you watched A Landman with
Billy Bob Thorpe.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I watched the first season.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
You know, the wife and the daughter, the annoying one.
Did not like them, No, nobody did. But the girl
who played the daughter is in nineteen twenty three.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Oh yeah, she's kind of hot.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
And I think one of the women from Hunting Wives,
oh is in nineteen I didn't watch that one Hunting Wives.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I didn't want my wife watched it. I was kind
of late on it.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
You didn't. You should have watched it with you. I know,
I know, dude, I know, showtime, I.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Know, but we have different TV watching schedules because I
got a show.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
You need to watch together, and then you know it's.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Showtime, showtime. Yeah yeah, all right, Well you'll have a
great day on the boat there in Chilestown.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah, can't wait.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Fun fact, when I go to your boat, I drive
through Chilestown and I drive right by the projects.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Oh yeah, the massive project.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, and I spent some time there.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
That's in those projects.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Oh, that's where I used to cop drugs. There was
a period in my life where I used to.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Get Yeah there, please, I have to drive through there
every morning.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Oh god, this is years ago. This is this I've
been clean a long time.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
By the way, they knocked two or three of them
down and built a brand new one right in the
middle of all the others. And I guess the plan
is eventually, uh, to knock all of them down and
rebuild them. These beautiful places for these folks to live.
I mean, it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, they were so beautiful when I was there, when
I was running running through there project.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
You know.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Well, actually the last time we went, we drove by there.
Jen and I when we went to Peetown, we were
driving by and then it was It's quite romantic. We
were sharing stories with each other about times when each
of us were there. Oh yeah, she was, Yeah, when
she was running around that's where you you know, you
got some stuff there. Actually, one time, this is the
(08:09):
story I shared with her. One time, a friend of
mine stole a TV from somewhere and it was one
of those like it was a flat screen but it
still had kind of had the back. It wasn't a five.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, they weren't. They weren't versions weren't really flat.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
So he wanted to bring it to the projects in
Charlestown to fence it for a bag of drugs. Okay,
So we're in Malden and he asked me to join
him and he would like hook me up and I
go okay, and I go over there, and he couldn't
carry it himself. So we carried the TV to Malden Station,
onto the Orange Line down to Bunker Hill, got off
(08:47):
and carried this TV into the projects in Charlestown to
sell it. Did you have a fence or you just
went We had a fence. Never made it to the
fence because the police were there and they just see
these two like drug addicts carrying a TV, the TV
from somebody. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. So they ended up
arresting my friend because he had warrants, and they let
(09:09):
me go and I'm like I don't know they did.
Whose TV is this. I'm like, I don't know, it's
his TV. They took him, and they took.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
The TV, and you brought it on the train.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
On the train, you should have seen us carrying this
stupid thing. So those are the fun stories driving through Chilestown.
But all right, Bill, Well, thank you for joining the
after show. It only takes a few minutes of your time.
It's a lot of fun. Have a great day off,
and tomorrow is Friday in the weekend, which I'm really
excited about. Enjoy.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I planned you
