All right, after show, Army, Hello, welcome into the podcast.

(00:03):
A little late today, God, it's eleven forty am. I
never record this late, but we had some meetings after
the show, and I'm still here. I'm still working. I'll
probably work all the way up until Dave Portnoy tonight
because vacation is coming up. You know what that means
a lot of preparation, and you know, that's just what
we have to do. We have to well, I have

(00:25):
to prepare. I have to help produce, you know, content
when we're out. I'll never understand that. Well, I do
understand it. It's just annoying at this point. Radio is
a weird thing. So most of the people that listen
to this podcast, you know, are dedicated listeners, which we appreciate.
You listen to the show, you listen to the after show.
You know when we're going on vacation, I talk about

(00:47):
it on the podcast. We talk about it on the show.
But there are also a ton of other people, many many, many,
many thousands of people that don't listen. Every day they
pop in and out. They don't really know. And this
is actually proven because when we go away on vacation,
when I come back there are endless amounts of talkbacks
from people that are chiming in on the conversation because

(01:08):
they think that it's that we're there and we're not.
So I understand what the Boss means about, you know,
doing kind of best of content but having me host it,
because you really can't tell the difference unless you know
and have already heard the segment. It's just a lot
of work, you know, and I'm trying to trying to
push it off, not push it off. But you know,

(01:29):
I started doing that many years ago. I think in
twenty god, twenty seventeen, maybe twenty eighteen with Maddie. You know,
I started doing that and the Boss really liked it,
and that was a way to get my voice more
on the air and kind of helping to you know,
polish myself. But at this point, I've been doing it

(01:49):
so long it's kind of worked against me because now
when I do it, it's different than before. Before. When
I did it, you know, you would know the show
is on vacation if I am hosting and talking into
the segments. But now with the new show, because Billy
and I kind of share it the hosting, it's hard
to tell. And I think they really like that, and

(02:11):
it really it helps the ratings, you know, behind the
scenes radio stuff because you know, if people have heard
it before, or even if they know we're not live,
they may tune out. That's just the way it is.
I mean, how often do you watch reruns of something?
You know? Sometimes you do, but sometimes you don't. You
want new content, you want live content. So I've been

(02:34):
trying to probably see if producer Riley would do it,
because she's in the role that I was on. You know,
she's on the air, she does shifts on Kiss One Away,
she's on our show. Sometimes this could be a way
to like host this stuff. And I know it's a
lot of work, and the boss is down for it.
But not this vacation. Maybe the next vacation. But they
are going to switch things up next year, So starting

(02:56):
next because really we have a July and August vacation
and then we have Christmas, right, we have the week
or two at Christmas. But starting next year, we're gonna
start splitting the vacations, which a lot of shows do that.
It's actually kind of rare to do what we do,

(03:17):
and it's kind of old school. It's just the way
that Matt always wanted to do things. You know, when
he's off, the show's off. That's just the way it was.
But now we want to always be live year round,
and so we're gonna take separate vacations and kind of
have fill ins, right like, if I'm out, maybe Mikey'll
fill in, or Gianno will fill in, or mckaybe will
fill in, just have different people fill in, just so

(03:39):
the show's always live. Because next week, think about this, right,
next week is Noah con week, the Taylor Swift wedding.
I mean that's the fourth of July. But still like
what's gonna happen on Thursday and Friday and then Monday
we're off. So but producer Riley will be here and
she will be doing some kind of update for Taylor.

(04:01):
But again, Noah Khan, the four biggest shows, we just
happened to be on vacation that was set up a
year in advance. So they want to kind of avoid
that and have the show be live all the time,
which I understand and I'm fine with. And actually it's
less work for me. That's how the boss sold it
to me. It's like, no more of this recording the
best of us. It's a lot, a lot of work.

(04:22):
You know. I wish that my job was, hey, it's
vacation time, like do do my regular work and then
when vacation comes, boom them out. But radio doesn't work
like that because radio was twenty four to seven, three
hundred and sixty five days a year. So I got
to wrap up some stuff here before Dave Portnoy. If
you're going to Dave Portnite, hopefully I'll see you there.

(04:42):
It's gonna be crazy. I cannot wait. So I'll be
there with a couple of my friends. A lot of
people that I know and love are going, and it'd
be nice. It'd be cool to meet Dave and see
what he has to say. He's been everywhere doing all
kinds of press. The book came out yesterday, but it's
gonna be on stage with Lisa at Big Night Live.
So if you've got tickets, I hope you enjoy the

show and maybe we will see each other. I will
be there hanging around, so that's fun. And then tomorrow
we work and then we're off. Man, we're off on
vacation and I'm off to Old Orchard Beach, so that
should be fun and we're off next week. I will
try to do a quick goodbye tomorrow. But the break

is here, man, the break is here. It's been it's
been a while since the last vacation. I mean, we
had the Juneteenth day off, but you know, this is
a stretch, you know, March to June. It's funny my
friends are like, you're always on vacation. Not so much. Really,
we have the same vacation schedule all the time. We
have a week in March, a week in July, a

(05:45):
week in August, and Christmas. That's it. So July and
August are kind of close together. But you know, March,
then we go April, May, June, so that's three months
and then vacation. I don't even know if you care
about this. I'm kind of just really tough because I've
been here since three am working and then after the
show we had a meeting, and then I was like
recording a bunch of stuff and commercials and kind of

(06:07):
trying to get everything that I need to get done done.
So I'm a little scatter brained, if you will. But anyway,
looking forward tonight, the full recap will be tomorrow on
the show Our Goodbye show before the vacation, it's gonna
be hot. It beautiful out there right now, blue skies,
but yeah, the heat wave is coming. So be well
