Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, look at that. And after show on a Thursday,
which is really a Friday because tomorrow is June nineteenth,
and we have the day off after show. Army, what's up.
I'm justin and welcome to the after show. So was
planning on maybe not doing an after show because we
had a Countdown tour that was scheduled. They ended up
canceling last minute. Hope they're okay. Something came up. So

(00:21):
this morning I found out there was no tour, which
means good news for you and after show, So shout
out to all the dads out there. Father's Day weekend.
I'm excited for it. It's a long weekend. It's Father's Day. Also,
the weather is going to be good, not today, but tomorrow,
Saturday and Sunday is looking amazing. And I say the

(00:42):
same thing every year about Father's Day. I really don't
want gifts, and everybody says that. I mean, I'll take
a gift, right, I'll take it. That'll be fine. I
really don't want anything extravagant. All I want is my
son to listen to me. I say it every single year,
and you know what, he's so much better than he
will like as he gets older. You know, he matures

(01:03):
and that's the thing that kind of I didn't really understand,
you know when he was five four or five six,
seven years old. You know, he's a boy, and he's young,
and he's very rambunctious and very strong willed. That's the
best way to describe him, which really is a superpower
if you think about it, you know, because he can

(01:25):
go one up two ways. He's either going to be
really like successful and he could be a lawyer or
a politician. You know, he's very very strong willed and
motivated in that sense, or he could use those skills
in a different way, which we're hoping he doesn't. God
forbid he does, but I don't think he will. He's
such a good kid man. So again, all I want
is him and you know what, and my daughter Gemma,

(01:47):
just to be good kids, to listen to their parents,
treat people with respect, like that's what I care about
as a parent. You know, I talked a lot about
parenting on this podcast. I've been very open about what
it's like and the struggles of it and you know,
the joy of it, the joy of raising kids, and
I always say, you know, having children has really given

(02:10):
me a purpose in life. It's really it's really kind
of shown me what life is all about. You know.
My job is to is to give them a good
life and to teach them to be good humans and
to hopefully pass that on to their kids if they
choose to have children. You know, that's my job. Before
I had kids, I was kind of lost on what
life was about. You know, you think about things like
death and the afterlife, and you know when those those

(02:33):
kind of thoughts come up, you know, infinity and et cetera,
et cetera, and you kind of get lost in those thoughts.
But then you have children and you're like, you know,
what my day is going to come, and whatever happens
after that day comes, so be it. But while I'm here,
it's very important that I provide for these children and
be a good father. So that's those are my thoughts

(02:56):
going into Father's Day. I think the plan is on Sunday,
my Dad's gonna come shout out to my dad, Happy
Father's Day to him, and my brother is going to
come over to with his family. So it'll be my
dad and his two boys celebrating Father's Day. And what
better way to celebrate Father's Day than some steaks on
the grill. Baby, We'll get some nice McKinnon's. That's the

(03:17):
steak shop, the butcher shop near my house. McKinnon steaks
on my grill, So that will be fun. What else
we got going on today?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Hey, justin This is Joe. I just wanted to say,
what a great interview with your friend Robbie. Thank you
and him for sharing your stories. It is amazing, and
with family members in recovery, it's such a great message
to them as well as to us family members that
one day at a time really does work, and you

(03:49):
do recover. Putting in the work really does pay off.
So thank you again.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, well said Joe, and thank you very much. Thank
you for listening. It was very long. I know it was,
and so I appreciate if you were able to listen
all the way through. You know, I kind of just
let him talk and let him tell his story because
you know, he's an older guy, he's been through so
much stuff, so many cool things. And you know, I
enjoyed the podcast. Obviously I know his story, but if
you enjoyed it, and that makes me very very happy.

(04:16):
And again it's recovery based, and you know, I'm all
about that. You know, people that are struggling. You know,
that's why the message of recovery is so important to me.
And shout out to Robbie. I was talking to him yesterday.
For a while, we've kind of reconnected a little bit,
you know, not that we really lost touch, but what changes.
I would always see him during the week because you know,

(04:36):
I would go to recovery meetings. But when my job
changed and I started, you know, having to I always
got up early. But when the Billion Lisa Show launched,
it was different because then, you know, I became the
executive producer. I also became a co host, so it's
very important that I'm here extra early and also that

(04:57):
I'm well rested, you know, so I had to I
met my kind of attendance to just weekends, so I
don't see him as much. So this is nice that
we that we reconnected. You know, I had a client
call yesterday. I'll share this. This is pretty cool. I
hope this lands. So I love endorsing things. The goal
is to endorse things that I use. That's that's how

(05:19):
it should be, and that's basically how it is really right,
Like when you have clients that have products and businesses.
You know, it's it's real if you use those products
and everything that I have I actually use, which I'm
like super proud of, you know, like I have power
of recovery. Long time endorsement with them, Maddie and Damon.
Shout out to them. They'll be here on Tuesday. By

(05:39):
the way, I should give them a plug. They'll be
here Tuesday. So recovery questions, comments, please please please leave,
leave a talk back for them. Maddie's going to tell
part two of his story. So if you remember the
last time they were in we kind of cut Maddie off.
He only like made it halfway through. So we have
some talkbacks on people that want to hear the rest,

(06:00):
and then we canna get the Damon story. So we'll
get we'll get to all that with them. But I
have power of recovery. I have Chipotle, which I'm obsessed
with Chipotle and have been for many years. That was
like well documented in my life. I was the Chipotle
king forever and now I work with them. I also
have Pentucket Bank, which is my bank, I legit bank there.
Shout out to them. I love them. New England, Spas.

(06:22):
I bought a sauna bought with my own money a
sauna from New England spas, so I work with them
as well. Who else do I got? I think that's it.
But Game Day Men's Health, I had a call with them.
Didn't even know they existed. Now, if you know me,
I am very very very much into health and wellness

(06:44):
and kind of biohacking. It's kind of an obsession of mine,
you know. So I didn't even know they existed. But
thanks to a talkbacker who left the talk back on
the show about my shoulder. Right, Remember I had the
shoulder issue and I got the cortizone shot. Well, I
guess at Game Day They have several locations, but the
one in North Andover they listen to the show. So

(07:05):
when I was talking about it, they lift to talk
back and said, hey, justin come check us out. We
do PRP treatment and we can help you with your shoulder.
And so I looked up their company and I'm like,
oh my god, this is me, Like this is all
the stuff that I'm into, you know, things like getting
blood work done. They can do like DEXA scans, They
have hormone therapy replacement, they have peptides, they have all

(07:30):
this stuff. That they offer. So, you know, I teamed
up with my guy, one of the salespeople, and I said,
let's try to make this happen. We had the call.
It went so so good, and I think I would
be the perfect candidate to kind of get the message out.
Two men and also wives, right, Like the majority of
our audience on Kiss one O eight is women, right,

(07:51):
And you'd be surprised how many women send their husbands
or their boyfriends to these places to kind of get
their blood work done and get checked to see what's
going on, because you know, you can tell a lot
through the blood work that they that they take, you know,
and if you are listening to this and you do
not get blood work and you don't see a doctor,
like please, shame on you. You need to get checked up,

(08:12):
you know, Like I get blood work done every six months.
I'm diligent about it. I take vitamins, all of that.
So these are all things that I would love to
talk about for that business. So let's hope. Let's hope
I get the get the endorsement and and have a
good partnership with them. So all right, what else we
got today?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Hey, justin I just listened to the after show podcast
with you and Riley, where you guys talked about the
books you're reading and what's happening in the book world
right now. Just want until you know. I loved it.
I'm a big reader myself, so it's great to hear
what you guys are reading. I think you should do
every couple of weeks, have a conversation about what you
guys are reading. You can call it what are we

(08:51):
reading with Justin and Riley have a good day, guys.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Huh, that's a good idea. I know. We had some
book talk yesterday. Well, Riley's a long time reader. When
she first started working here, she talked about how she read.
I'll never forget one weekend. I think it was a
long weekend. Maybe it was last summer. Excuse me, And
I go, what are you doing this weekend? And she's like, well,
a new book came out that I've been waiting for
and I'm gonna go home and read it. And I said,

(09:14):
I was like, that's lame. We got into this whole
back and forth. This is before I started reading, and
I'm like, you're going home to read, that's what you're doing,
that's your excitement. You're not going anywhere. How about a restaurant,
how about the movies, how about candyby Lake Park. Nope,
I'm gonna sit at my house and read all weekend.
And now I get it, like I get it so much.
You know, I love reading, but I have kids, I

(09:37):
have small kids. I have all these responsibilities at my house,
so I can't just, you know, take all this time
to read. I got to kind of fit it in
when I can. So shout out to her who doesn't
have kids, doesn't have all these responsibilities. I'm jealous of that.
I wish that I could sit there at my house
and read a book. I am in between books. Well,

(09:57):
I actually have a new book that I'm going to start.
It was actually suggested by a listener should DM me
a while back when I was buying books like crazy.
I bought it. I ordered it on Amazon. It's called Runner.
So if you're listening to this podcast and you suggested
that book, because I I forget who it was, shut
out to you. I will be starting that and then
hopefully the day Portnoy book I'll get from Lisa once

(10:18):
that done. That's done, that's coming up, by the way,
the Portnoy event. That's going to be happening on July first.
I will be going. I'll be bringing two of my friends, well,
my best friend, one of my best friends, Mike, and
then his brother in law who's also my friend, but
it's his sister's husband. He's a big fan too, so

(10:38):
I'm gonna be bringing both of them to the event.
That should be fun. As far as the show, today,
we had Geo does interviews in the Scott who has
been covering all things Boston. He's here for the World Cup.
We've been teasing it all week and let me tell you,
Geo did not disappoint. He was fantastic. So make sure
you check out that out on the podcast. I think
we posted a picture with him as well. So everyone

(11:01):
have a great great Father's Day, weekend, long weekend. No
podcast tomorrow, No billion leads the show Tomorrow. We're gonna
get a little bit of rest. I'll do some working
out and just relaxing around the house. The weather's gonna
be great, so check in, check in on the after
show or the regular show, Leave it talk back and again,
any questions or comments for Maddie and Damon Power of Recovery.

(11:21):
They're coming in on Tuesday. All right, see it bye,
