Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, we got check in with Lydia.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
So, Lydia, if you were listening on Friday morning, you
heard where at the end of the show she was
talking about how she was going on a retreat and
the only thing she was bringing to her retreat was
her stuffed animal, and we got to check in with
her because this was kind of a difficult weekend for me.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Lydia.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
I could tell usually.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
I'm in contact with you about twenty or so times
over the weekend. I had to be very very cautious.
I did not send her one text, but I did
send the group text.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Yeah yeah, text, which he's obviously huh yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
But normally I'll send her separate text. So we're in
a little text with each other. And then also we're
in a text exchange with Tony Travado Bianca and Lydia
and I are in a text exchange. So it was
kind of weird, like I had to like be very
mindful of that. How was the retreat. Are you feeling good?
Do you feel revitalized? Do you feel like you got
(00:54):
enough rest in prayer?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
In yes, I feel so good.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
When I tell you, guys, putting away your phone and
focusing on God, it changes your life completely, Like I
felt so renewed and my spirit feels cleansed.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
What did you do all, David?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Was it a lot of services or what did you
would you do?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
We did one service, but we did like talks fellowship.
We really got to know each other and share stories
on our journeys to journeys, finding finding God.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
It was unreal. Any guys. Yeah, there were a couple. Yeah,
there were really well, yeah there was.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Well you're not supposed to look at cute guys.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
He says, that's a perfect place to meet a husband,
and absolutely is a retreat.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
That was strategic if you meet somebody there.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
But that guy may want women out of his life
at that moment, and that may be one of the
problems that he's faced with.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Maybe he's two into women.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
No, there were no seminarians, and a lot of the
guys were introducing themselves to me because they listened to
the show.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Oh really, it's a great in you know.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
When we were doing Icebreakers, I was like, yeah, this
is my fun fact.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I produced the morning show.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
And that's when a group of guys just came over
to me and we're talking to me about things that
they used to listen to on the show and things
that they like about our show.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Oh my god, I like that. That's good.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Did did they come up at all that were like
sacriligious or anything bad about us?
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I wanted?
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Yes, there were a group of women who I had
a conversation with and they've got into a heated argument
because there were some things on our show that we
talk about that one woman didn't like.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
And then another woman was like, how are you about
to judge Mojo in his show we're here to Oh.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
She's sticking up for me.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Thank you to whoever that is. I like that.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Are they all? Are all these people Catholics? Or are
they Chaldeans or Catholic?
Speaker 1 (02:50):
What?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Are they all Kaldian Catholics?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Okay, so this is a specific to your being Kaldean.
A bunch of Kaldians get together.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
Yes, you don't have to be Dean to come on
this retreat, but it's at the Chaldean Evangelization Center.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Okay, So this is interesting.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
So Friday, I get a text message from Linda Zara,
who is al Zara, the Engineera's love als.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Oh, I used to be our engineer here.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Now he's a big business owner in town and his
gorgeous wife, Linda sent me a text selfie of Lydia
and herself and I right away, go put your phone
away because Lydia was going to be phone less the
whole weekend. Was that at the beginning of the event
or what was the story with that?
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Yeah, they take your phones right when you went there
on Friday, so you have like a little introduction and
then they say, hey, there's these brown bags. Put your
name on a put your phone away. If you want
to keep your phones, you can keep them. But I
felt like this was something that wasn't optional for me.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
How was that for you?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
It was kind of hard. I loved it.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
I didn't think of it a lot of the time
because we were praying, and then they had the priests
come and that was really nice to just get your
mind off of things. You were so busy that you
didn't even have time to think about it. But then
it got hard at night time. Yeah, you get a
little lonely too. Everybody had friends. There was only one
woman that I met that didn't have a friend there,
and he and I became friends.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
That's great, But yeah, and what you mean friends? Oh
they went together together.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yeah, there were.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
Groups of people that you went alone? Correct, Yes, I
didn't know anybody there.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
So speaking of nighttime, what were the sleeping arrangements?
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Then everyone had their own room, but it was like
a luxury room. Like it was two beds, a nice shower,
nice bathrooms. Everything was was super incredible.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Do you have any openings next week?
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Yeah, it's a lot of praying, my girl.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
You know what. Honestly, I that sounds relaxing.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
You get you get a good sleep, like you get
a how how many hours sleep are you allowed to get?
Speaker 3 (04:49):
You go to bed at like eleven o'clock you wake
up at like six thirty.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Man, that sounds like how did you wake up if
there's no alarm clock on your phone?
Speaker 3 (04:56):
They knocked on your door?
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Oh my god, it's like my I'm all over again
for middle school.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Wait? How was it not being with Bianca the whole weekend?
You think?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
First off, do you think Bianca could pull this off?
Somebody who talks for a living. Oh.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
I thought about her because I was in my moment
of loneliness and I was like, yeah, would turn around
be like, oh.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
My god, bosses, do you think that you would at
night try to get everybody together to go like sneak out.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Hey, y'all want to go hit the towel.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
It's It's Fenton, right, is infenting?
Speaker 3 (05:28):
It was actually an Oxford And.
Speaker 6 (05:31):
Every single time I've done a class trip or a
little getaway, I've always got in trouble. My parents got
called how to come pick me up?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Have you ever asked that question? That would be an
interesting question to ask of the people that do this retreat.
Have you ever had to kick somebody out for something
inappropriate that happened?
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Oh? I thought about that too when I was on
their chip. I'm like, what would I do that would
get me kicked out of here?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I don't want that lady who doesn't like us or
like me to to not like me more. But I honestly,
the first thing that would come to mind was I
wonder if there are any people that have ever hooked
hooked up at these things?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Oh, I'm sure.
Speaker 7 (06:08):
Sure.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
And the women stay on one floor, yeah, and you
got your a room with two beds in a nice
shower all to yourself.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Come on, you're lonely, but you're not.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
But you're you're only there for a few days. If
you're all of a sudden getting acquainted that fast.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
Or like you knew them beforehand and were thinking about
going on a treat.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Wait for like a moment just to be together. So
your parents think that you guys are No, we.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Wanted to do a church reortreat together. We were looking
at out this morning.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
But they have cameras and they have chaperones and they
have things like that that are watching at all times.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
There were groups of people who are up till like
three o'clock in the morning. I could hear them in
the common area.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
Yeah, yeah, that would be me for sure, to go
peek out at the clock because you don't have your phone, can.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Do Starbucks in the morning or there's no phone? No,
Well I know, but if I guess if you had
to walk.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
To Starbucks go pick it up, or how many how
many mistext and calls did you have when you got
your phone back yesterday?
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I had at least sixteen from my mom.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Oh, like your mom, she knew you didn't have your phone,
you know what.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
But our group, Yeah, she was just telling me I
miss you, I love you, saying for you. She was
just sending me little things throughout the day. And then
when I saw our group text. I thought it was
just going to be articles, and then I saw Mojo saying,
why does Lydia have her phone?
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I know I called you out for that.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Think hold on saying I'm blind picking up because Lydia
is talking. What's up, Claudia, what are you calling for?
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Hi?
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Good morning. I just want to say I'm so happy
that Lydia went to go to the retreat. I've done
that myself, and they are the They're the most wonderful
things to do. I can't wait for the next one
that I go to. I have a question for Lydia.
Was this the first time that you go to live
one or did you go as a server?
Speaker 2 (07:50):
No?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I was just just attending it. I wasn't serving.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Hey, quick question for you. Yeah, she said that there
were some cute boys there. Do you think that there's
any phone numbers that Lydia I got or what do
you What are your thoughts?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Cludding?
Speaker 7 (08:02):
I mean just how everyone's saying, it's it's pretty, it's
a good things. It's a it's a wonderful place to
meet someoney if you're looking for someone there.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Oh my god, you know what this is interesting?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
This It reminds me of like us at our show
and we've had like moments where we you know, do
pajama parties. It's basically a pajama party with God. You
know what I mean, what do you?
Speaker 7 (08:26):
Yeah, it's pretty cool for Lydia that she had like
the special arrangements and what not, because no, we go
there to live hardcore. We take no showers, we have
no best wow floor. Like five in the morning we go.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
That's what I thought it was going to be.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I didn't realize it was going to be her staying
at the j W for God's sake, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
That's like, that's the Kaldian way of doing it.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Gods come as you are, but I'm not coming.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Stan.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I know you said that you brought just your your
stuffed animal or whatever, was it the walrus or something? Bear?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
You have this stuffed animal again?
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Bear?
Speaker 1 (09:06):
It's a bear. Did you bring makeup and stuff like that?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Like, did you have like a what do they call
it when you travel, uh, your cosmetic case or whatever?
Speaker 1 (09:15):
The heck? Yeah, your toiletries? Did you have your toilet
tries with you?
Speaker 6 (09:18):
No?
Speaker 5 (09:18):
I just brought lip gloss, Which is a funny story
because we were doing something in the mass, and afterwards
we were just doing a little fellowship and I started.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Crying really hard. And afterwards, now it's funny.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
Afterwards, I was like, oh my god, this guy who
keeps sitting next to me, you so good looking. Now
I have like this, you know, on these underbags and
I looked like crap and I have is this lipt class?
And I'm like, you know what, maybe this is great
because if he does actually like me, who likes you?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Yeah? Like that that is nice? Yeah, or he's going
to be like run, she's a crier.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Emotional rack.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
They break you down a little bit, but in the
best way.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Making sure you know emotion.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
One of my friends went to one of those, but
I think it was for seven days and you couldn't
You had to give your phone and you couldn't talk.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Oh silent. It was a silent.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Gosh, it was a did you imagine?
Speaker 1 (10:18):
No, I just want to I'll pay for Bonn to
go to that one picked out with the first two
hours you talked too much. You can't be here, man,
