Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Mojoe in the morning. Our phone number eight four
to four Mojo Live. Our text is ninety five to
five zero zero. I need some advice on this one,
and I really want you to do me a favor,
and I want you to listen closely and then just
tell me you're yay or nay on this. So I
got a guy that I see a bunch. We have
gone on a golf trip together, We've gone to a

(00:21):
concert together, We've had drinks, dinners, all this stuff. Guy's
been buddies for a little bit. He's getting married and
was having some conversations with some friends and they were
all talking to me about his upcoming wedding and how
they are excited for it. And I said, oh, that's
pretty cool. And then I'm thinking I haven't gotten invited,

(00:44):
or we haven't gotten invited. So I reached out to
Chelsea and I said to Chelse, I go, Chelse, did
we get an invite? And She's like, no, nothing's come
in the mail. Nor nowadays people are even doing these
like evites and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Sport.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, they're is it like soon.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's coming up here in a little over a month. Oh,
it's a little over. Well, he's and he loves Chelsea.
It's funny because we just recently ran into each other
and he always talks about, you know, how much he
loves Chelsea and has asked us numerous times for different
couples advice because they've people will come to us and

(01:22):
ask us questions about stuff. So long story short, I
was talking to a friend and I said to him,
I go, you know, what do you think I should do?
And he said I should call him and ask hey,
And I said, I can't do that.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That just sounds so desperate.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
It sounds like I'm inviting myself to his wedding and
he's convinced if you call him, I guarantee you that
there's a mistake or something like that. And I said,
I'm not going to do that. So instead, I said,
I'm going to bring it up on the radio and
hope he's listening. But I wanted to ask the listeners this,
what would you do if you if you didn't get
an invitation or an invite to a party or in

(01:58):
this case, a wedding, and everybody else around you who
are lesser friends to him than I am, like, I.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Feel like I feel like I'm close.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I feel like I'm close enough to be able to
get an invite, and I feel like this is one
of those and I give good gift, God gift. So
I think that that would be the case that he
would want at least a good gift.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Why wouldn't you like casually bring it up on the
golf course or something like, hey, wedding's coming up.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
How are you feeling?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
So he knows that you know, well, that's actually not
a bad idea, so kind of like bring up, bring
up hey, so are you excited for the wedding?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
You know, stuff like that, and then see how he.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
I'm surprised you're not rejoicing right now because you hate
going to weddings, actually.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Can I hate it?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
I hate going to weddings of people who don't have
fun friends. This guy has fun friends. You know it's
going to be a party. Yeah, there's certain there, but
normally Shannon is right, I hate.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Going into such a curmudget.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Weddings to me are not fun unless they start off
like you know what I mean, like like the weddings.
The weddings that I like are weddings where it just
becomes like literally a concert and a wedding happened in
the middle of it, you know, like a really good
band or degree.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
You hate going to weddings, but you hate not being invited.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Behave rights, Yeah, don't you? I mean, have you ever
get invited everything? I'm going through this right now with
my mom. So my cousin is getting married. I've talked
about it before at the time where I said, should
I press this guy once we finally meet him. That
wedding is July third, so less than a month away.
And I've been invited. My sister has been invited. My

(03:37):
dad's been invited because that's her uncle. My mom has
not been I don't think my mom was invited.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
And do you think do you think your.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Do you think your mom uh wasn't invited because it's
your dad's side of the family.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
And I do think.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
But still I feel like, you know, y'all had a relationship.
Maybe your dad take her as a date? Interesting Atlanta man,
she would go.

Speaker 7 (04:04):
Yeah, sometimes depends on the day they they when I've
seen them.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Last time I saw them together in the same room
as your birthday. Yeah, and they seem like they were
actually kind of cute with each.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Other a little bit.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
My mom has an expiration day with my dad does
like it's good for when he's good.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
But you know that it's a ticking time Amber.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
What do you think I should do?

Speaker 8 (04:25):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (04:29):
Well, my soon to be mother in law kind of
stuck up for me. Surprisingly, But my boyfriend and I
have been together for thirteen years and I wasn't invited
to his cousin's wedding, but his other cousin not getting married.
He was with his girlfriend for maybe three months, and
she was invited.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Oh, I would be so they.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Don't like you.

Speaker 8 (04:51):
Yeah, I was so upset, Like I'm telling my boyfriend, Yeah,
this is your cousin so and so. He doesn't know
who belongs with who, and I'm so nice to the
family and this girl doesn't know anybody and she was invited.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
That.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That's crazy when you see other people they're invited because
the amber in this case totally different story. But there
are a couple of people that are kind of like
not his you know, usually he usually makes fun of them.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
They're invited.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
The reason you like, do you think?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I honestly, I think that I think that we are invited.
We just don't have the we don't have the invite.
I really do think that that's.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
The case that it got lost because that actually does happen,
or you didn't check your mail or your text, or
because it's so funny you say paperless posts or whatever
the fancy I use paperless posts for like a birthday
party now, or invite or whatever. But a lot of
people do those instead of sending a invitation.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Really yeah, wow, that's interesting. That seems cheap to me.
If they do it that way, I'll.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Be I mean, it's keeper can be free, but paperless
post is not free.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
If it's a formal wedding where there's actually a ceremony
at a church and then a reception, then I think
it's cheap to do it. If it's just hey, we're
having a party for the reception, that it's fine.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
Wow, Why I got to be cheap? Invite is an invite?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Not? You need that hard You need the one, you
need the fancy paper.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
Yeah, you're just gonna throw it away in a couple
of months.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, did you guys save my invitation?

Speaker 1 (06:31):
I have had it before where I was invited to
a wedding and did an R s v P and
they called, and I'm like, wait, I didn't get an invitation,
so I have had that happen before. I'm almost wondering
if I should just wait and keep that date open,
although I might be just sad on that it would.

Speaker 5 (06:46):
Be the next couple of days. If it's a month away,
like they probably have to have their final stuff in
like three two, three weeks beforehand.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Hey, LaBelle, what's up? Hi Moro?

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Hi, good morning everybody. My question is do you get
along with the fiance or.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Have you all like cho.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
They love us? No, No, they're they I mean we
hug each other. We yeah, no, no, it's it's always seriously, LaBelle,
it's I would say yes. And and this is gonna
happen with Joe's wedding too, because Joe's having a really
small wedding. He's only having one hundred or if not
less than one hundred people. And I bet you there'll

(07:28):
be some people that would be like miffed when they
don't get an invite to the wedding.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
I'm a little bits still waiting for ours.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Now, are you in the wedding and you forgot?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
I know, wouldn't that be funny? Actually? That would that
would be wild. What's up, Lisa, how you doing?

Speaker 6 (07:44):
Good morning you guys.

Speaker 10 (07:46):
John's thinking maybe his wife to be it's not crazy
about the thought that maybe the things that happened at
the reception I get talked about the next day of
the radio. Maybe she wants to keep it private and
you guys are really good friends and you do a
lot of fun stuff together. But maybe she doesn't she's
afraid it might end up on the radio them.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
But in that case, instead of hurting a relationship by
not extending an invite, say yeah, exactly, please don't talk
about anything that happens here on the show.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Okay, you know, thank you Lisa for the This is
not helping me on if I should ask if I'm invited, though,
you guys are all trying to figure out why I'm
not invited or haven't gotten an invite.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
What's out, Laura High? What should I do?

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, so I there's a way around all of this.
So my husband's parents were trying to figure out if
they were invited to one of our friend's weddings because
they hadn't gotten anything in the mail. And so nowadays
most couples make a wedding website, either on the not
or Zola and so you can search the couple's name,
find their wedding website. And then if you go to

(08:53):
the RSVP section, type your name in and if you
then when you press search yours in Chelsea's.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Name, what do you or pop up?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
And then you have.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Really r s VP to complete or if.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Your name doesn't pop up, then they didn't load you
into the system as an invite. That's way to figure
out without talking to us.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
You said.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Yes, so they're usually or Zola, Zola or the not.
And then you find the couple, type in the groom's name,
find their website, search your name.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
That's interesting, Thank you, I'll try. I'll have to try that.
Has anybody ever gone to a wedding that they weren't
invited to?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Like? That would be interesting? What if I just showed up?
What if we just show up?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Because you know, there's always somebody that doesn't come to
the wedding, right, there's always an opening?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, what's up, Megan?

Speaker 8 (09:43):
Hi?

Speaker 6 (09:43):
What if they ordered to fish?

Speaker 9 (09:45):
I was literally about to say the same thing the
last colored sid.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
So look up your name on the wedding website.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Okay, I heard that you had this happened to you.

Speaker 11 (09:53):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
You swore you weren't invited.

Speaker 8 (09:55):
Yeah, no, I swear we were invited, so we didn't
get the in invite.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
So that same thing you just did exactly that last colors. Okay,
I got to try that out. Amanda wants to make
a an opinionated comment here, what's up, Amanda.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Good morning.

Speaker 11 (10:14):
Everyone's so ironically, I'm safely driving with you on the phone,
hands free, okay, But ironically, there's a truck next to me.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
That says, just ask, just ask.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
That's telling us telling us something there if they're if.

Speaker 11 (10:35):
He's a good enough friend, he's not going to care
that you're asking. But here's the opinion that they were
that Lydia is talking about. Paper Invites have to be
a thing. Not everyone is on social media enough or
uses it. I don't even know how to use the
like the invite yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Event part of Facebook I don't get on. I don't
use it.

Speaker 11 (10:58):
I just found out a week ago that I'm invited
to my friend's daughter's first birthday. I see this girl
all the time and she never.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Mentioned it to And that's funny. They did it on social.

Speaker 9 (11:07):
She's like, well, it's on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I'm like, I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah, who checks Facebook every day? I will tell you.
The Facebook invites to me are stupid.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
No, those are Those are stupid. But the other ones
like require an rs VP, and if you.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Don't, you know, I don't like thevice because they constantly
send you the reminders of the person.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
The person who's in charge of that can turn it off.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I hate when that happens. I feel like I'm getting
spammed about the person. By the time the thing comes up. Uh,
Jeffrey Saqua has sent me these and by the time
the event comes up, I'm tired of hearing about the event. Jasmine,
you've crashed weddings.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Yeah, so first time, long time.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yes, the phone.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
I found out my boss is getting married, and me
and one of the other managers just showed.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Up at her wedding for fun.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Oh no, And.

Speaker 9 (11:59):
Then every she loved it.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
It was like, that's the great of the best time.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
And then every time.

Speaker 11 (12:06):
I go to a wedding, if there's like another venue
in the wedding, it's.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Like another one going on.

Speaker 10 (12:11):
I go to both wedding.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Oh okay, all right, that's uh, that sounds like the
life of the party.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
Though she bringing good ub I hate.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I hate whenever you go to a wedding and you're
at the non fun wedding, but the fun wedding is
next door. You can you can hear like DMX playing
I'll go and lose Mama.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I've been here, up in here, and I'm sitting there
