Speaker 1 (00:00):
And I then open up my Gmail account and I
got people go into my Gmail account. I felt like
my birthday was work yesterday, Like it was exhausting yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
You're so grateful and you feel so loved, But at
the same time it does streuss you out a little
bit because I don't know about you, but I always
feel like I want to respond to everybody.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
And I tried to do a personal response to everybody,
and by the end it was just love you, buddy. Yeah,
love you buddy, I got. That's all I got. That's
all you got out of me.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Do you think people really care though about the response
the majority of the people, I do believe you at
least have to acknowledge it.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, I do. I think that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
The only reason I asked is because there have been
many times where I've said happy birthday to somebody on
social and I don't even remember if they responded or not.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah, it didn't move me. Actually, social I don't think
it matters as much like I think a Facebook message.
You know, I don't really go back and see if
somebody liked my Facebook message, but I think on text,
I think that you know, if they know you personally
enough to have your phone number, although I got to
tell you I give my phone number to everybody. I mean,
more people have my phone number than our friends with
me on Facebook because I just don't accept a lot
(01:04):
of you know, on my personal one. So but that
was cool. I I do want to tell you guys,
I had a very memorable birthday. And it was memorable
in a great way, not in a bad way. Like
you know, I told you that I was going to
be spending it just with my son Luke, that nobody else.
Chelsea was out of town helping her friend out who
(01:24):
had surgery. And thank god her friend is doing good. Chelsea.
I know you remember names and stuff too. And so
it was Luke and I. Luke and I went to
dinner last night. We had a great time. I had
such amazing day. Yesterday I went and got my body checked.
What is that by a hot blonde lady? I went
(01:47):
to the dermatologist yesterday. First off, I did not understand
that they wanted me to take all my clothes off.
I thought, at least I can keep my underwear on.
They were like head to toe clothes off. I kept
my underwear on. I can't do my Oh yeah, they
looked around. They did it. So they're checking out to
(02:08):
see if you got any skin cancer, the whole body,
the whole body. Yeah, So can I tell you something?
She told me two things. First. First off, by the way,
shout out to uh To Legacy, Uh dermatology and Michelle Legacy,
doctor Michelle Legacy. So uh, they're all ding did They're
(02:32):
all big fans too, which is weird too because the
all the people in there. She comes walking and she goes,
there's a lot of people that want to be in
here right now, and I'm like, oh, no, I'm naked,
and honestly, they're all women, and I'm thinking this would
have been a dream come true if it wasn't that.
I'm at a dermatology appointment. Did I what did you do?
You have any moles? I did? Right here? I had
(02:52):
one thing. I had one removed. She she she said
that it's nothing. She said she doesn't believe it's cancerous,
but she just to be careful and did some she
did some night stress or something like that. Let me see.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I see it.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
She told me that my Cuban blood actually probably protects
me because I don't really wear sunscreen. So and I
golf and stuff like that. But my dad was Cuban
and my dad never put an announce of sunscreen on
in his entire life. But long, long story short, let's
get to that. To to that, I could talk all
day about, you know, having having having a naked body
(03:29):
in front of you know, it was embarrassing. And the
worst is like we uh doctor Legacy and her husband
who's also uh a doctor, doctor Kinesik, are very good friends.
Like they're nice people. We see them at dinner and
stuff like that. Would go to dinner and now she
knows what And I didn't groom. I didn't groom myself
(03:49):
like I got to. You know, I always make sure.
I didn't realize, you know it, it would take me
a year and a half to groom myself. So it's
so I'm like all furry. I didn't make sure I
put fresh yodor in on because I was thinking, God,
I hope I don't sweat and smell. But so I
had a day and something big really happened to me.
(04:09):
Chelsea said to me before she left, we had a
really amazing day together and she said something to me
that was really cool. It was really very emotional time
with each other. She asked me, if I could relive
three days that have happened in my life up until
this birthday, what three days would I like to relive?
(04:30):
I love this question. By the way, if anybody wants
to actually tell us their three days, and I'd love
to ask you guys your three days. I would love
to know, because there were three days that right away
popped into my head. The first day that popped into
my head was the day that I told Chelsea that
I loved her, because it also was the day that
she told me that she loved me. That was it
(04:52):
was I went on out on a limb. We were
sitting outside of my apartment on this little hill that
overlooked we had a pool at the apartment in in Arizona,
and then we were overlooking the pool and I laid
back and said to her, I love you, and she
told me she loved me back. Still remember exactly what
the stars looked like that night too. It was amazing.
Number two on the list was the day that Joey
(05:15):
was born, because I became a dad for the first time. Yeah,
I'll never forget being there and seeing joe come out
and realizing that my life has just officially changed the
title of me as a person just officially changed. I
became a dad. And the third was most surprising to Chelsea,
but honestly most important in my life. The day that
my mom died.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
You want to relive that day, I.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Would love to relive it. And I'm going to tell
you why. And people think that this might be weird.
I talked to my best buddy Brad yesterday, and here's
the reason why. The day that my mom died, my
sisters called my three best friends, Brad Jager and his
twin brother Brian in Tom Barrett and told that their parents, Hey,
(05:58):
just want to let you know my mom past or
our mom passed, and is there any way that the
guys can come over, because they wanted me to have
a distraction. My buddies came over. We played baseball all day,
We throw footballs all day, We went swimming all day
like we had the fun most fun day ever. And
(06:21):
it was probably the thing that made those guys my
best friends, because that moment of these guys doing this.
So Brad and I had a conversation yesterday. We talked
for an hour and maybe twenty minutes after the show
was over with, and our conversation was about this, and
he was recounting exactly what I was wearing that day.
He was telling me about he remembered, you know exactly
(06:43):
what my dad was talking about. Because my dad started
talking about the funeral. He talked about the hit, the
hit that I had. He goes, you hit the ball
so damn far that day, and I truly believe that
it was either your aggression from what happened to you
or your mom was carrying that ball out there. Like
we had this converse and I had this really cool
moment where we're talking, and then I looked at my
(07:05):
clock and I had the appointment coming up, the dermatology appointment,
and my appointment was at one point thirty. And all
of a sudden, Brad's like, hey, I got to go
back to work. And this is like Nunish or not
new nis Shaw. This is like twelve fifty nine or whatever.
It is almost one o'clock, and I'm like, I got
thirty minutes and I'm almost at the dermatology office. I
did something that I've never done in my life. Yesterday.
(07:26):
I lived by this place called Saint Mary's, which is
a high school and it's a very popular school in
Orchard Lake, Michigan, and I drive every single day by
one specific place of Saint Mary's that I have never
driven by or never stopped at in my life, and
I've seen people stop. So I had thirty minutes to
kill and I figured, I don't want to just sit
here and make phone calls. I'm going to do something
(07:48):
because of my conversation. I parked my car and got out,
and they have at Saint Mary's a grotto, which is
a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. And it's it
is it's it's honestly one of esthetically one of the
most beautiful areas. It was spiritually one of the biggest
moments of my life happened yesterday. I went and I
(08:10):
was the only person there, and I sat in one
of the pews or booths that they had there or
you know, benches that they had there, and I just
prayed for thirty minutes. And I am not going to
lie to you guys. You guys know me as a person,
and you know how much my family and my faith
mean to me. I could see visions of my mother
(08:31):
while I was doing this, and her smile that she had.
It was one of the wildest things I've ever seen,
and I would keep my eyes closed because I didn't
want to thank you. I kept my eyes closed because
I didn't want to not see it anymore. And just
(08:52):
then an older man comes walking with some kid, and
I'm like, I could hear them talking. I'm like, I
don't want to open my eyes. I don't want to
open my eyes. And then I'm thinking to myself, these
people that I think I'm sleeping, you know what I mean.
But I could see my mom and it was such
a wild thing. And I get to tell you, guys,
there have been moments in my life where I know
God was talking to me or has been talking to me.
(09:15):
It was God talking to me, and it made that
day literally one of the greatest days of my life.
Like I was not looking forward. I thought my birthday
was going to be just a normal Thursday, you know
what I mean. But it was a really it was
a connected day. I connected with my best buddy in
the world. About one of the moments that Chelsea, who
brought this question up to me, told me, you know,
(09:38):
you know, what are the three days that you'd want
to bring back, which really brought a great memories back
to me and then I had this moment with my mom.
It was crazy. So if you've never been to that
area to see that, you got to go and visit it.
It's honestly a beautiful place to go visit. People go
there and take pictures and they do a lot of
stuff there, So it's pretty awesome for you.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
When you were playing baseball with your friends, did you
know what was happening or did you think you were
just playing baseball with your friends, or did you, like
know my mom's.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
She died when I woke When I woke up she
I could hear them say, Mom, you know mom died.
My sister Pat was howling with car so I knew already.
So by the time the guys came over, it was
maybe an hour and a half after, you know, even
the funeral home people came to my house because she
died in her bedroom. Wow, But can I tell you
(10:29):
that when we were out playing, I didn't even think
about my mom dying. Like, it's so weird how your
friends can get your mind off of something, and I
was and I was fourteen years old, So as a
fourteen year old, your mind's off of everything. Basically, you know,
but it was. It was a cool moment. Three days.
Just ask you, guys, what three days would you want
(10:50):
to relive? Oh? You looking at me?
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Anybody or anybody? Do you guys have any three days?
Ain't like yo day? That was kind of that was amazing. Yeah,
three days.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Let me see.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
There was this one time I was in the driveway
with this girl and we had an incredible time.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
That would be one of the day's I remember.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I'm just gonna be honest with you. It was like
ninety one, ninety two, ninety three bulls. It was a
repeat that. That was a very good night. My ninth
grade year, I used to participate in something called forensics.
It was like an acting speech slash debate thing, and
we made it all the way to the state championship
and for our school DSA, we were the first off,
(11:30):
the only black school that competed, and then we won
the entire state and then in my particular category, we
won our state championship and beat like the second place team.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
But like it it was like something that had never
been done before.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
But to and not that I needed validation, but putting work,
putting effort, putting time, putting energy, having a passion for
something and a dream for something, and then having a
moment where you're in this auditorium and you hear your
name get called and like you I don't want to
use the word validation, but it felt like a moment
that I had worked hard and realize so it would
(12:02):
be that. And then the day journey was born, bro
like being in that delivery room, seeing that entire process,
and then I don't even know, like it was a
moment where she wasn't breathing, like the umbilical cord was
like ripped around her neck, and then like seeing the
doctors put her in the thing and having to call
in other doctors and get her heart back working, and
then like seeing her actually like take a breath, and
(12:23):
then like that was it. That was an incredible emotional moment,
full of like love and like never fear. Maybe a
little bit of worry, like why is this blue right now?
But like that was an incredible moment. So probably, and
I'm sure there are many, many, many other days.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I know it's so hard to pick. I would pick.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I would pick any random Christmas Eve at my Grandma
Grace's house when she was alive, and my whole family
still got together for Christmas. Those were the best memories.
My grandma would cook in her basement and the whole
family got together, and it was like, I wish I
could relive one of those.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Grace not channing Shanny's Granny.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I mean, of course I would love more days with
Shanny's Granny, but that, like to have my whole family
together again would be so cool. The second one would
probably be the day that I got to do I
got to go host with Regis. I don't think that
I like fully that day was such a cool day,
but it was so it was such a blur and
I would love to like go through that whole day
again because that was such a dream come true career
(13:21):
wise for me. The third day would definitely be the
day that Lucy was born and like you said, I
became a mom for the first time. And there's something
trending on Instagram I'm sure TikTok to right now about oh,
how every parent wishes they could have a day with
their kids when they were yis again and just be like,
(13:41):
you don't even understand this human being that you are
about to turn into, and just like see them in
that phase of life again.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, to have that day again and not have the
worry that you cause you know, you didn't know at
that time what it was going to be, Like, Anna,
do you have three days?
Speaker 4 (13:57):
I don't know if I have three. I'm still waiting
on my day. But what for sure is probably when
Cooper was born, not because I mean it was a
happy thing, but I wish I would have been happier
about it because it was a little sad when like
we heard his diagnosis of Down syndrome and stuff, and
it was scary.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Explain Cooper, who Cooper is?
Speaker 4 (14:17):
Yeah, Cooper's my nephew who has Down syndrome. But the
right when it was a surprise diagnosis. So right after
he was born, it was just like a sea of emotions,
like we were excited he was my first nephew. But
then it was also like scary because we were like, oh,
my gosh, he has Down syndrome and he has a
hole in his heart. But maybe that and then similar
to Shannon, like Christmas eves with my family.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, and then today today will be that third day. Yeah,
it's gonna be a good day. Robin. What's up? Hi
is Mojo in the morning.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Hi, I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Mojo.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
I wish I could go back and sorry, okay.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
My parents are and I wish that I could go
back to the day that, well, the day before, since
they all that I never got to say.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
They can hear you right now, Robin, I'm telling you
they can. They My mom heard me yesterday.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
I know, like I found out. Hey, I can't for
like two or three weeks after my dad died. And
I carry this like guilt because I feel like he knew,
and he knew that if he was still around that
I wouldn't have taken care of myself.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Wow. Well, listen, he knows you love him and he's
so happy that you came through that. And I'm telling
you he helped you get through that.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
I know they they I believe that they both did.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
Sorry, Doubby Downer.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
No, can I be honest. I think sometimes a good
cry is a good thing. Yeah, it's It gives you
an opportunity to vocalize it and also to be able
to mourn it for another day. And it's okay to
mourn it. Yeah, all right. I love you and I
and I want you to know that we all appreciate
you so much for showing your vulnerability on the air.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Than birthday.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Oh my gosh, thank you so much, thank you, love you.
I'm I'm be thinking about you today, Robin, thank you.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Thanks. I love you, guys.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
What's up Amy High?
Speaker 6 (16:32):
Hi guys. Well now that I'm an emotional mess means
you guys, O Joe, I love you, Okay, I love
everyone in that studio, everyone that's going through today. Just
know God is good, all love the ones are looking
over us, and it's okay to cry. I am going
to throw in a little humor Italian family, right. My
dad was in I see you. I knew he probably
(16:55):
wouldn't make it. I'm a medical social worker, but the
son of up have the He coded right in front
of me, and that's what came out of my mouth.
I said, you saw sleep And I wish I could
go back to that day like all joke inside and
be like man that I probably should have been a
little nicer, but I was his little you know, his
(17:15):
little girl. But to those days where you just kind
of look back and reflect. You know that in the end,
God does give us lots of blessings and we just
gotta start counting them. Know that our loved ones are
always with us. And like you said, a good cry
is a great cry, So let it out. People try it.
We got it. I love each other. We're good.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
It's wild. The most common response that I'm getting on
text message of people saying WeLive is the day that
they had their first child. It really is such a
monumental day. It's wild to see that. Jessica, what's up.
It's Mojo in the morning. High.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Hi, I got going onated.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Thank you made me.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
That's not making me cry on my way to work.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
No, we love you.
Speaker 7 (18:02):
No, I wish I could go back to the day.
Uh not my mom going through chemo and everything to
come December first, she'll be seventeen years cancer free.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
That's amazing. But my mom, she went through.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
Saint John's off of Maras through the I never say
right Van Elsander Center.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Oh, I said it right.
Speaker 7 (18:22):
And they told her not to get her hopes up.
You know that she would have to go through the
eight chemo treatments and then radiation.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
And I told her.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
I was like, no, no, no, no, God is bigger. He'll
always be bigger. And she had two chemo treatments and
I said, let's pray, you know, let's do what. Danielle,
one of my girlfriends who unfortunately passed but she was
an angel here on earth, taught us to pray specifically,
so my dad and I we laid hands over my mom.
She came home that day. Long story short, the nurse
started crying. Told my mom man like, don't get your
(18:51):
hopes up, and she goes, no, I want you to
check it. And they were like, well, that's not why
you're here. We're just here to see how you're feeling.
She goes, no, I want you to check the tumor.
We prayed over her it was going to be more
than fifty percent gone, and they told her, no, it
wouldn't even shrink. After the eight chymod treatments, that thing
was gone more than fifty percent.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
Right.
Speaker 7 (19:10):
Her doctor cried and they were like, well you were,
And from that day everyone wanted to know who she
was and she goes, I'm just you know, a daughter
of Christ trying.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
That's that is when you can make medical professionals get emotional.
You don't see that. That is so amazing. And knowing
your mom, I'm telling you you're you know.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
Jim, And that's that's the biggest thing.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Our faith yeah.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
And my mom to this day, well you know, and
she'll tell me about moments where she had a guy
where he would she hurt him audibly, like you you
felt God yesterday and.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
God talked to you.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
And I'm just like, dang it, man, I'm the one
who brought you guys back, you know, selfishly.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
But that's amazing.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
You have to remember, I wish I could go back
to having that kind of faith. It's there, but you know,
you have day by day just like you had.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, yeah, all and you know what's interesting, And thank
you Jessica by the way for the call. I appreciate you.
It's all these days in between we'll make like that
day that I have, yes like today is going to
be probably a normal day, thank God, hopefully God willing right.
I want to be normal. But a day like yesterday
keeps you going back for more, you know what I mean,
Like it keeps it keeps you continuing to go. I
(20:20):
can't go back to something that was said, but I'm
going to. When I asked for the three things that
you'd like to relive, one of them that Kevin said
was in the driveway.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
I
