Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is Mojo in the morning. Shannon had an amazing
pre Thanksgiving as the Lions were getting ready to take
on the Green Bay Packers. Shannon and Wes, you guys
went out for dinner and you ran into the entire
broadcast team.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
It was crasty and I'm not even a huge sports fan,
Like this is not a secret to anybody, but West
and I were at dinner.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
It was an earlier dinner.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
We were just you know, the tail end of happy
hour and wanted to take advantage, and so we sit
down at this restaurant. We were sitting at the bar
and we're chatting. We actually became friends with the couple
that was sitting next to us. And all of a sudden,
I start to see people I know walk in. Michael Strahan,

(00:46):
love him, Gronk, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Isaiah Thomas comes
in and sits right behind.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Me, Tom Brady, that beautiful man in.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
It was so crazy, and I'm trying to like, you know,
be cool, and I'm texting you guys, and I'm like
doe Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
So I tried to not take any photos.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
But then when Tom Brady walked in, I'm like Mojo
will actually have my head if I don't take a
photo of Tom Brady.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
The text line was going nonstyle, so.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I turned around like really quickly and just snapped the photo.
It's very blurry, but I got it for you. It
was just so cool to watch them all interact. They
were all hanging out and just like.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
You know, he is so pretty.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
By the way, tom Brady, he is very pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
We were walking into the game on Thursday and we're
going in the main entrance and they had their broadcast
out in front, which, by the way, it was like
five degrees outside. It was cold, and Tom Brady was
doing a thing out there and he had to walk
into the stadium and kind of.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Like walked right by. He's tall. I realized how tall
Tom Brady is.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yea and party like that and made me know he
was he We know, he's pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
When they were walk into like a bar, like all
these guys walk into a bar, does.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
This play walk up music?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
I'm impressed too because Shannon is not a sports fan,
but she like knows that like who they were have
to tell you the names or did you know names?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Only when I didn't know, and not that he would
take offense in his listening, but I didn't know who
how he long was And he was like, and I
swear I saw Tony Romo leaving, But you guys were like, no,
that wouldn't be the case.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
But it was.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It was for sure a doppelganger because he I mean,
I know, I know what Tony Romo looks like.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
That was just that was bam Ferndale. Were they in
a private room or were they eating?

Speaker 5 (02:43):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, no, they weren't eating nor drinking. They were just
coming in. This was like a lobby.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
They stayed because Braid Tom Brady ended up going to
the Michigan game on Saturday too.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, but they all stood around and hung out, I think,
and I have to give a shout out, and he
probably does not want me to say this, but we wes.
And I went to pay her bill at the end
of the night and the bartender was like, nope, somebody
paid it for you.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
And I'm like, who, because you didn't really.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Know anybody in there, and he nodded to behind me,
and so I did walk up to him, to Isiah
Thomas and say you did not have to do that,
Thank you so much. You want to know what's so
crazy is in This is gonna make me sound old.
In nineteen ninety one, I was in second grade and
I co hosted. I was like a kiddy co host
for the Thanksgiving Day parade for Channel four. And I

(03:29):
got to meet Isaiah Thomas at the hob novel Gobble
the night before and he gave me his autograph and
I took a picture with him and I said, oh
my god, I wish I had it on my phone.
But now it's the night before Thanksgiving again a lot
of years later.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
But it's just so neat and it was very very
kind of him.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
He bought everyone's tab at the bar.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
How did it was only it was only Wes and
I and then the couple sitting next to us.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Okay, yeah, so he bought me.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I don't know Isaiah Thomas really number Then back to
bad Bad Boy Championships.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I love them so nice.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
He gets like some you know, some people give him
a bad rap on certain things. I loved Isaiah Thomas man.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
That was like I didn't want to bother him, but
I had to say thank you.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yeah, this was the night before Thanksgiving?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Correct?

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Because what I really want to know about is did.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Your chairs work?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
My fake media signs? They did?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Oh yeah, they did work.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, so if you if you weren't listening before we
left for Thanksgiving break. I every year my family goes
to the parade since I was little, since my mom
was a little girl. And every year we stake out
some spaces and set up our chairs and our blankets
and you know, all of the things are wagon and
then we go have brunch at the Hudson Cafe and
call them back to our chairs before the parade starts.

(04:48):
It never fails that somebody moves all of our stuff.
So this year, I thought, I'm gonna be smart and
make iHeartMedia reserved signs and tape them to the chairs.
So I did. I did, and they did look legit
and nobody moved to the chairs. But I also have
to I wrote down the name of this sweet family.
There were listeners that were sitting right next to us,

(05:08):
and I took a picture with them off to post it,
and they were also like, we're going to be here,
so we'll keep watch for you. Everybody knew they were
like they're Shannon and her fake chairs.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
As they were walking by. But it was sweet.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
So you guys go to the parade every single year.
Would you rank this one as one of the coldest
parades that you've back.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I'll be honest with you. I love the parade. It's
such a tradition for my family for Detroit. I live
for it every year, which is why I'm so crazy
about our chairs. It was so cold we did not
make it to Sannah.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Smith looked at me at.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
One point and he goes, Mom, I am over this,
and I'm like, yeah, And I have to be honest
with you. It felt a lot slower than normal this year,
which I know they have to do for commercial breaks
and stuff for TV, but it was Yes, it was cold.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Insight, so I my parents go to the prey down
in Midtown and I was walking downtown because we were like,
why is this taking so long? That there was a
new Barton mallow float that was too tall and it
kept hitting everything. So if you saw the float downtown,
like half of one of the skyscrapers was demolished because
it kept like swaying into these like.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Really poles and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
It was very windy.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I got to the game with the family like an
hour to spare, and the parade was just ending. I
didn't realize they take the street light or the traffic
lights down and then they put him right back up afterwards.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
And yeah, they this float like did like a diagonal thing,
so it kept hitting like the side things.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Do you know what Barton Mallow does they built?

Speaker 1 (06:40):
They build those buildings. Do you think they do that
on purpose? So they kept made three model on the floor.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
It was the phrase started and we were both so bundled.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I mean, it was really cold this year.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
I have to be honest with you.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
I was thinking of you, and I was thinking of
the you know, the parade thing, and I was watching
the uh you know Channel four and their their coverage
of it locally in Detroit, and I was like, going, man,
it is so nice to be sitting inside.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Well, I got to hang out with Karen Drew a
little bit afterwards Lesson. I ran into her and she
she showed me because she was out there for Channel four,
you know, reporting on the pride.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
She had. I've never seen this before.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
It looks like ladies who had babies will understand what
I'm talking about. It looked like the mesh underwear that
they give you at the hospital if you push out
a baby. But she had it all wrapped around her
body and they had heaters inside of them. Oh wow,
and so that's what she was wearing. And she's like,
I actually was fine. Well, I don't know where you
get those, but I want those flashed year. I've seen
the heated coats that that they saw. They saw them
at Dicks, so they're They're like, yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
The people I were with had electric handwarmers, so not
the ones that you shake. It was just like an all.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
We did those this year.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's also interesting too, is uh. You know, I've kind
of fallen off my I used to know every newsperson
in Toledo, Grand Rapids in Detroit, and I kind of
stopped watching the news.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
It got me too depressed. You know. Every story was
about you know, death and destruction.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
So I kind of like got away from it a
little bit, which, by the way, has done wonders for
my mental psyche. I don't really know a lot of
the people anymore that are local because a lot of
the TV stations have changed over. But they have a
guy on Channel four and I don't know if this
is his real name, but he looks very muscular and his.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Name is Ty Steel. Do we know if he's a superhero.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
He's been here for a minute.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I haven't met him at all and fallen in. But
is that a real name or is that a radio
television name?

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Like perfectly Sultan peppered hair.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
He's like, I'm Ty Steel, and I'm like, you are
not Ty Steel? Are really that?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
But he looks like a Ty Steel, Like he looks
like he literally they should do superhero promos with him,
Ty Steel fighting crime. One new story on Local four.
What's going on, Tammy? How you doing?

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (08:54):
Good morning, everybody.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Good morning. What's up?

Speaker 5 (08:57):
So?

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Yeah, we went to the parade, my daughter and I.
It was our fourteenth year minus COVID because they didn't
have it. But yeah, I would agree one of the coldest.
But you just got to go prepared, like we were layered.
I had my handwarmers, my footwarmers, my hot chocolate.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
The wind was brutal.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I think that was the worst thing.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Of it all.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
It was bridge this weekend. You know, Shannon was trying
to kill her kids with influenza A. She took them
to the parade and then last night or I don't
know if it was last night or the day she
made them go out and pick a live Christmas tree.
These poor kids, they've got frostbitten fingers. If they're at school,
if you go to school with Smith and Lucy, their

(09:36):
fingers can't write on a with a number two pencil
because they can't feel the pencil.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
It was actually me, I lost my gloves in that
Christmas tree lot yesterday.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Do your kids?

Speaker 1 (09:46):
First off, please tell me that the kids are feeling
okay today after what you did to them this week?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
My god, everybody.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Do they ever complain and say, Mom, can we just
stay home on the couch?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
They did?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
They did a lot of that. I think this weekend
they were with dad. Yeah, I don't know what they did.
To be honest with you, pleasure.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I'm looking at Shannon's activity levels and I'm going she
definitely hit her rings on her.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Do you want to know what's funny? Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yes, yesterday we picked out a tree which we went
to shout out to Addison Oaks Christmas Tree Farm. So
cute little family owned Christmas tree farm. The rest of
my weekend, do you want to know what I did?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Nothing? And it was glorious, good for you. Nothing
