Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, as we come up on and just get
to that moment where 25 years ago today, the events
that took place in our country changed many of us
here in our country, but also across the world forever.
We're going to take a moment of silence and just

(00:21):
give a remembrance to all the lives that were lost.
And there were so many of them. and to remember
where you were or remember what you've learned. And let's
hope that we never forget.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Oh, beautiful, far, spacious skies. For amber waves of.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Grain For purple mountain majesties.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Over the fruited plain But now wait a minute He
told me he would.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Mojo in the morning. Looking at some of the coverage
on TV at Ground Zero as the TV stations, the
national news pays their respects. I know locally there's a

(02:21):
bunch of different events, too. I was Looking through some
of the different towns and some of the towns that
are going to be doing things from our listening areas,
from Wixom to Grand Rapids to Toledo to Dearborn to
Auburn Hills, just towns that are recognizing into.

(02:43):
They're actually reading. This is what you're hearing right now
is television coverage of them reading. Those that were in
the World Trade Center. Can I tell you when you
realize how fast time goes by and then you look
at it and go, wow, it was really a long
time ago. It was 25 years ago. When you look

(03:03):
at the pictures, the last pictures of many of those
that died and notice that the pictures and the quality
of the pictures is a little bit different than what
the quality of a picture would be nowadays if we
were to take a picture of somebody that was, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
With their family. So....

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Could not imagine. I couldn't imagine you, you know, these
young kids, like these young kids who are reading this
right now, these are actually grandkids of some of the people.
But I could not imagine that, you know, my dad
goes to work every single day and you say goodbye
to your parent when they go and leave for work.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Ordinary day.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
And they leave and then you hear all the news
of what's going on and only to know that that's
the building that so many people worked in and so
many people, you know, called their, you know, their place
that they would go to five or six days a
week for work.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
When I was younger, man, like after it happened, when
I used to come downtown, I always used to look
at the rinse and be like, could that happen to us? Oh,
my gosh.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Like every time I would come downtown, I would just
look up in the sky. Any plane that looked like
it was flying low, it made me question what it
was doing. When you see something flying low, doesn't it
make your stomach, it makes my stomach so nervous.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I think you did a story yesterday that I thought
was really interesting that it came out at this time
right now. And it was a story about how TSA
is going to change the way that they do things.
They're going to now allow you, because before 9-11, 2001, you,
if you were going on a flight, like if my
wife was going away with the kids, I would drop

(04:34):
her off, park in the parking, walk her and the
kids in. To the gate. Say goodbye to them at
the gate. And they'd wave to them as they're pulling
away from the gate and stuff. And that changed everything.
Now they're talking about bringing that back.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
It's already happening at 13 airports across the country.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
And then the, what we could bring or could not
bring on airplanes, you know, uh, in the screening process
going to be changing. So, um, all right. We'll never forget. And, um,
I will tell you this, uh, ever hearing, hearing the
listeners that called in this morning that remembered actually that day.
And we're listening to the show, including there was, um,

(05:15):
a guy that called up earlier in the show, like
seven o'clock hour in the show and said that he
was on his way to school on his bus. And
they were listening to this radio show at that time.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
So.
