Speaker 1 (00:09):
Hey, it's that time of year, Happy holidays. I always
say that it's that time of year where I am
racing to the last day of the year that we're working.
You ain't getting one hundred percent out of me after
jingle Ball talk.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
That tall After jingle Ball, guess what I'm leaving.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I feel like our show is leading up to the
holiday are always just like kind of I don't know,
there's no structure to them, and they're so funny.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
You think I havenaged by the way, I'm a little
lactose intolerance.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
I love if you if you get the right stuff.
I got this creamy bourbon stuff over here that's so delicious.
Have some of that this morning.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Well, I want to have a conversation here right now
that I think might offend some people, and if it does,
I apologize, But I do want to bring it up
because I was having conversation with friends. I was just
recently down in Tampa, Florida, where I was visiting the
Joe Show, and those guys down there had their company's
holiday party already. Yeah, they had it on Friday. And

(01:14):
listen to this holiday party. I was invited. They actually
invited me to go to the company holiday party. They
had it at the casino. Okay, so they had it
at the Hollywood casino? Or did you have to dress
up and stuff? Well, no, is at a casino. You
don't need to just dress up. You're going to my mom,
thinking James Bond. So let me tell you what the
what this was. They had their party. So this is

(01:36):
an iHeart Company party for the Tampa market. We're in Detroit,
a bigger market, right, I think we're larger than Tampa.
Final mistaken. I could be wrong. I don't know the
Nielsen rankings these days. So their party was at a casino.
They had food and drink, and every employee that came

(01:57):
to that party got five hundred dollars to gamble.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
H stop.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
They could not take the five hundred dollars and just
put it in their pocket. They had to take the
five hundred dollars that they got as a gambling money
and they had to use it kind of like you
get the free spins on DraftKings or whatever, and they
had to use it in any money that they made
from it.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
They got to that is a good holiday party.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
It did was it gave them the opportunity to participate
if they didn't have the money. So they have this party.
Everybody is invited. And I said to the lady that
plans the party down there, I said to her, I go,
can I be honest with you? I go, yeah, I go,
how the hell are you guys doing this? I go,
we got budget issues, and we got you know, we're
trying to make money for the company and stuff like that,
and this is going on. And she goes, oh, she goes,

(02:43):
you know, our market manager gave me money to trade
with trade for those people that don't know, is you
run advertising for basically the money that it would cost
for that thing. I said, wow, they gave you some
How much trade did that cost? She goes, It was
like ten thousand dollars, like ten grand of a party. Okay, now,
let me tell you about our holidays. No, okay, our

(03:03):
holiday party. I just got the alert on this is
a week from today. Okay, we're having our office holiday party.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
So on a Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Our holiday party is going to be catered. It's gonna
be nice. We're gonna have great food and drink. Spirits
will be flying. But our holiday party is here at
the office. Our company holiday party is at the office.
No offense. But that's not a holiday party. That's over
time with cookies. We are not We are not necessarily

(03:35):
having a holiday party. We are basically forced to celebrate
the holidays in the office with co workers past the
time that we normally.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Would work here. Is it at least in the front
or is it difference?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Don't make a difference because guess what, me has to
drive downtown at four am and then come all the
way back here at five pm or six pm or
whatever it is, Alida party is We got to stop
doing that. So I want to put this out there
and I'm gonna say this and if I.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Love that you're looking around a year, but Colleen's listening.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I will be the team leader for the iHeartRadio Detroit
Holiday Party twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I will co share it with you. I love. I'm
not joking.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I love planning a party.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
And if you give us the freedom that the people
in Tampa got of at least getting you can go
out and do a trade from engine. I will come
up with the biggest badass party that we can come
up with and make everybody's year go great.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Have you seen the.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Meme at all of the guy from Home alone the
what's his name? The actor Rob Schneider as the door
guy where he opens up the pizza and it's the
cheese pizza and he goes and the meme is.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Your company just made a billion dollars off year. What
do you get this? Tell me? Give me your idea
of an amazing holiday party? What is that?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Here's what I'm gonna ask, Kevin. I want to ask
the listeners who's had the most amazing holiday party ever?

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Call us up? And I don't want to hear.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Although we could weigh this Lydia, who's had the worst
holiday party ever? And who's had the best one? But
you're gonna have to mix them up. I want to
make sure that the calls come in in their equal
I want to know the best badass party. I'll tell
you the best badass one, and then I want to
know the worst. Okay you want to you want to
get to go? First off, we never had holiday parties
in Tucson at our stations until after the holidays because

(05:32):
the holidays were always a bigger time for businesses or
companies you know, to uh to not want to do trade.
January was always a dead month, so we had a
boss Debbie Wagner that she would say to us, Hey,
we're going to have a company holiday party for Christmas,
but it's gonna be in January. And it was the
Weston La Paloma Resort, and we all got a hotel

(05:54):
stay the entire so basically it was a hotel party
night on a Friday night, and we did it. But
we couldn't do it at Christmas because the problem is,
these businesses make a crap load of money at Christmas time,
but in January it's usually a dead month for them.
And honestly, I don't think there was one person that
would ever complain at that moment. So that was the
best one. And we had a fun party, and we
all got a hotel stays, and then we all all

(06:16):
basically made a war of the roses and.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Hotels in there. It could get crazy. Mine was at
quick and this is before I even started working that
quick In going to this party is what made me
even apply. My boy Johnson, shout out Johnson.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
He had a plus one, brought me as his plus
one the Quickened party, This one they used to throw
him at the rinsend. His boy was three floors of fun.
When I walked in They had a dude painted in silver.
His job was to act as like the Spirit of
Detroit for the whole night.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Like the whole night. He was just in the polls.
Can we get him for the office party? Too much?
Got the second level. First off, everything is open bar,
open bar for like the entire night.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I'm drunk, is hit, I'm off my ass. I didn't
drink any of the whole night. I found my way
on the middle level. I'm in the middle level. It's
midgets walking around, all right, they walking around. It's minitars
walking around.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
It was like like the half man half horse, like
they will I swear bro It's like it was like
green moss everywhere. It was like little elf ladies. It
was three different Like the first theme was Detroit. That's
why they had the spirit guy the middle what is that?

(07:32):
That's like a half man? What was that theme?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Though?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
That was with the little folks they was in there
was walking insane. I was level by the way.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I wouldn't leave the little people. Can I say? Also,
this is another one too. I don't think have it
like I can't have a holiday party on a Tuesday
because I got to come to work the next.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Day and for me, and I know you're the same way.
I don't want to take off. I also, I'm not
gonna not that you need a drink to have a
good time, but we all like to have some drinks.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
To have a good time.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
But then I feel like once it approaches ten o'clock,
I'm like, oh my god, I have to go home.
I have to get ready for bed, I have to
write my topics. I get anxiety for work the next day.
So I came and enjoy myself.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Well, so next year I'll be the chair, or actually
you could be the chair and I'll be the co chair.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Whatever we no, no, no, I'll co chair.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
You will co chair. At the holiday party twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
We're all going home with a kid from some place.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
We may have it at some place and give away
in car. What's up, Roy? What was your wife's holiday party?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Good morning, everybody, Happy, Merry Christmas, Ry Christmas.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Closer.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Hey, when I tell you the story, you'll know how
long ago it was. It has to do with the
pontiac overdome.

Speaker 6 (08:59):
She worked for was Diagnostics. We live in Toledo.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Well she's in heaven now, Well we live in Toledo,
so we went up to the Pontiac Silver Dome to
have her Christmas party in the suite and when I
tell you.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
They had the best food I've ever had. It was amazing.
From Prime Rib, the cookies, they were all good.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
The Pontiac Silverdome.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
I think I can get them to trade us traveled
more than if you traveled more than fifty miles, you
got to stay overnight at a hotel.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We actually went to the Lions versus forty nine football
game the next day. That's awesome.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
I have the party on Saturday at at the.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
At fort Field. We could do it, yeah, and go
to a game day overnight for the football game.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
And if I could trade that with Sheila kemp Ford
hem Ford, I would. I would do that in a second.
Oh my gosh, that would be a party. What's up, Rachel?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
How you doing?

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Oh I'm good.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
First time money. I just wanted to tell you that
my little sister works for Rock Financial and years ago
at her Christmas party, Kid Rock showed up.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Oh yeah, celebrity guests.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
They always brings people in.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yep. It gets better because they gave a certain handful
of people private little tickets to go have a private
concert with Kid Rock and one of the lobbies that
had a piano.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Oh my gosh, a little private show from kid Hey.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Yeah, and then it gets even better.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Oh my god, don't stop. Did they have minotaurs?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Not sure?

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Okay, what's the best one?

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Okay, Well it gets a little bit better because crazy
things happen at Christmas parties. So then they go to
get in the elevator, and then they get to catch
a couple coworkers that probably on the bug making it out.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Okay, well listen, that's not happening in ours, but willing
to try with little people. I've never made out with
a midget, but that's going to be our next content.
We're going to do make makeout on one. Yeah, we
did make out with a Mustang. Hey, real quick. I
do want to throw this out. What happened to the

(11:22):
stripper party? Lydia called it? They hung up?

Speaker 2 (11:25):
I want them to.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Holiday party?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, tell them the call back and great callback voice.
This guy's initial B. What's up? B? Is this a
good party or a bad party?

Speaker 7 (11:37):
Merry Christmas? Well, well, we don't have a Christmas party
or celebration. We get a twenty five dollar voucher. She
stang at our company merch.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
You win so far? Can you? Can you buy anything
with the merch? Like the shirt?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Oh my god, merry Christmas we had. We had that
once where the boss just gave us gift cards.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I liked it. It was like a bunch of Kroger
gift cards and a bunch of Target gifts.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yeah, and you every year were like, man, a five
Arget gift card. I'm like, I didn't want to say
anything because I didn't want to be ungrateful, but I
was like mine was for freaking fifty sod, but I
think his was. But the whole Christmas I'm like, I
got fifty, but the last I think the last one

(12:36):
we got we got over one hundred bucks.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Or yeah, hold on, Andre the stripper Christmas party? What's up? Andre?

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Greatest Christmas party ever? I worked at one of the
largest rim shops here in Detroit. Rim ship uh huh
and so our boss uh a strip club that just opened.
The lady who owned it, or her and her husband
owned it. They sent strippers over to it. They came in,
they came in the tire shop with the missile toes.
We had a ball Christmas stripper.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Do you know if I could trade that.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Could you imagine did you imagine if we did that,
we would pull that out? I would want that would
be amazing. All right, Yeah, that was the rim shop
you were saying, right, Yeah, Andre, thank you, thank you
for the call. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Andre, do you tell everybody that you do rim jobs for?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
I don't trust what he has to say.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
What's the name of the company. What's the name of
the company. That would be my name. All right, thank
you for the call. I appreciate it.
