these last two games that we've seen, two of the most entertaining games we've
seen for years, and back toback efforts by the University of Kentucky to
continue their winning streak. I thinkthey're now twenty and eight and improving,

one of the few teams that hasthree Quadrant one top ten wins. I
mean, people were upset with coachCaliperry two weeks ago and today they're ready
to give him an extension. Wellthey can't. He's got a lifetime contract
Wildcat, So no extensions. Nomore extensions for coach cal. You know,
I'm going to bring some negativity tothe show, but no more extensions

for coach Cal. Let's just putit that way. But Kentucky yesterday and
some Mississippi State, Anthony, letme tell you something, and then we're
going to listen to a little audioof Reed Shepherd just going crazy the last
twelve minutes of the game, andthen a little press conference with reed Shepherd.
But last night during the game,there's a person that is a huge

Mississippi State fan lives here in Louisville, wise because his son played baseball there.
So in Mississippi State jumps out early. It's fourteen to three or twelve
to three. Mississippi State's flying high. The Cowboys are chiming. Everybody's cheering,
and he's sending me text Mississippi Stateall the way. I told him

he's going to have to man up. I told him Mississippi State is probably
a twelve fourteen. I said,they will not score the ball consistently enough
to beat Kentucky. So the entiregame, and when I mean the entire
game, Anthony, the entire game. I'm going back and forth with this
person, back and forth, backand forth the entire game. And I'm

going to read you some of thetext here we go, and I mean,
this is all game. I've gotto go so far back. No
way go dogs. He says,bulldogs beat Kentucky's But I said, no,
Kentucky, you will catch them.No way go Bulldogs, bulldogs rule.

I said, the Bulldogs scored twoinconsistently. Cow's doing the right thing
by playing some zone. You benice, Go Bulldogs. They will rush
the court tonight. I said,nope, Kentucky's in trouble storm the court.

I said, lol, Bulldog's veryphysical. I said again, they
just in this time. This isat a twenty three. They just can't
shoot well enough. Kentucky will catchthem. This is a twenty three.
Now answering this is fact, noway, go bulldogs. Bulldogs are beating

them up physically. I said,I told you that's at eight thirty five.
Kentucky started to close the gap.Reed Shepherd started to go off.
He says, dang it, thissucks. They can't score the ball consistently
enough. He says, big boy'sgass. He's talking about Mississippi State's big

boy. I said, Mississippi Stateis undisciplined. Yes, I agree.
Then he finally gives in. Hesays Shepherd is a bad man. I
said, ht ll, Yes,I told you Kentucky was going to need
him to shoot it. I justdidn't think he'd be this aggressive. So
that's where I'm going to start today'sshow. I went to practice, and

I told you all, I haveto practice. The college boys went with
me, Mike Vine, we allwent to practice. I said that Reed
Shepherd was going to have to shootthe ball. But I did not think
this is in the preseason he wouldbe aggressive enough to shoot it the way
he has. What has surprised meis that Reed has not hesitated to let
it go. He's averaging twelve anda half points game, shooting fifty percent

from the three. He said,a tremendous But I told people before the
season started that Reed Shepherd was goingto have to shoot the ball because he
was the second best shooter other thanReeves my exact words. So that's why
I mentioned to my man. Everybodyknows Blending his son played Mississippi State,
played major League baseball. I toldyou Kentucky was going to need him to

shoot it. I just didn't thinkhe'd be this aggressive. Blandon says,
I think he's Kentucky's best player.Bulldogs still win. I said, go
Kentucky. He said, oh,you you know what, daring you?
Shame on you. I told him, pull for the Cats. He says,

go Dogs. I said, tain't hit a free throw, can't
score consistently enough. That's when theircenter missed a big free throw. Point
taken game time. You were right, dang it, it's over, and
it was over on Reed Sheepper's runner. So Anthony, it's seven fifteen.

which was just amazing. The lasttwelve minutes, his last twelve minutes
Dillingham's spurt against Tennessee have just beenphenomenal for two freshmen to do what they're
doing, scoring the ball as efficientlyas they're scoring it in big time moments.

was wondering, Anthony, if thereif you help your dad with his medication

Well, I I haven't noticed itwith me because he's paid for most of

I'll just say this, you guys. The the Young Center is in the

your child and they take care ofhim like their family, and that university

have treated my son and our familyso good. They are the classiest people
in the world down there, andand I can never pull it out.

telephone up and tickets are never aproblem. They embrace their own is where
I'm going with this. So theyleft an impression on me that will never
you know, my lawtie. Butyou know, at the end of the
day, I give Kentucky all thecredit. Uh they beat them, Jerry,
straight up. No referee, badcalls. Uh uh great? Yeah,

And Kentucky I thought, uh cussingup a little bit last night,
Jerry. I thought the State guyswere pushing them around early in that game.
And they don't help throwing up.Yes, Kentucky, it's good.
Now, I'm still worried defensively.I know they play at a faster pace,
but I'm still worried about the pointsthat they do allow. The reason
is this read Shepherd now has beentheir releading rebounder two games in a row.

I want to know when Mitchell willget back, have the entire team
together, how coach cal can playthe entire team. I think Mitchell will
help the rebounding aspect for the Cats. They may be a tough out because
they've got multiple players that can scorethe ball blend and I appreciate it.

was just absolutely fantastic to watch lastnight. And I've seen that multiple players
from different colleges have given him credit. I know they said that. I'm

excellent game, and I'm not sureif that's verified. I don't watch social
media enough, but there have beennumerous players I saw on the internet telling
him congratulations for a great game.Matt plays this first clip of Reed Shepherd

the north you were playing Northwest BigTen Northwestern when you were at Chicago State

and you scored like thirteen or fourteenpoints in a minute and a half at
the end and you almost beat them. You lost by one, and the
announcer yelled out of Eves, it'sone more three. I'm gonna go guarding
the mindset when you start, whenthe ball just starts going in the basket,
what are you thinking about? Forme? I kind of zoned out,
honestly. You kind of go intoyour own world a little bit.

You know, the crowd, youdon't really hear them that much. Even
for mine. Mine was kind ofweird, like honestly, like every time
I touched the ball, like Iknew I wasn't gonna pass it. So
like, if I'm making every shot, what's the reason you passed the ball
for? So I came down everytime I caught, I pretty much just
kind of looked for my shot inthat scenario. And typically, you know,
I usually don't play like it.Usually, you know, it's more

team oriented. But in certain phaseslike that, when you kind of get
hot and you get your zone,you kind of phase other things down and
you just kind of starts going towork And usually when you're at a high
skill level like that, even aReed Shepherd, your confidence is already pretty
higher. Playing at University of Kentucky, it's a big competition game. There's
just a lot on the line,and you're just trying to do I feel

like what you can necessary to tryto win the game. And Reed Shepherd
kind of took over and he kindof went into his moment, And obviously
everybody knows there's a reason why he'sat University of Kentucky's not there just because
the name sounds good with the jersey. He's proven that he has the skill
over to get there, and everyperson on that team has the ability to
go into those moments like that.Rob Dillingham has done in the last game

against Tennessee. Reed Shepherd did itlast night against Misissippi State. There are
different glimpses of different players having theirmoment during big games. Edwards had the
big game two games ago. Hewent eleven for eleven. There's three different
players on the team that I wentto work for Kentucky consistently every single night.
And on a team like that andKyle of the players with five stars

and four stars, that it's goingto happen. They've got multiple talented players
and that's why they are so dangerous. I mean they truly. DJ Wagner
has not had a breakout game yet. I expect him to. He won't
shoot the ball from the perimeter likethese players, but he's still gonna have
a breakout game. They've got somany players. And when mister Mitchell gets

back into the fold, who isa stretch for they have another shooter that
they can put on that floor.Guys, it's I told people all the
time. They love these people.I mean I've said it a thousand times.
I mean, look like Superman,looked like Tarzan, play like Jane
got me love these big, strongathletes all look at them. Look how

impressive they look, Look how strongthey are. But they can't they don't
have a skill. Kentucky's players looklike guys you'd see in them all you
woudn't even know they're basketball players.But they've got a high skill level.
Just the bottom line, they havea high skill level and they're gonna be
they're hard out because they've got somany players that can score the ball.

Mississippi State. It was a physicalgame. The only way teams will be
able to compete with the University ofKentucky is to slow it down and turn
it into a grind, a verysingular possession game. You do not want
to run up and down with Kentucky. If you do, if you find
a team that says they want tooutscore Kentucky. I'm telling Kentucky can win

a national championship. There's no question. They have too many scoring out let's
in their roster. They just do. The team that will beat Kentucky is
going to slow it down, turnit into a physical game, bump and
grind, make it a half courtpossession, make them shoot the three to
one three per possession, rebound theball, and see if they can beat
them. Kentucky wins when they getout in transition, when player penetrates,

throws it back, they run intothrees. They have a lot of ways
they get to it. That's whyit's important for a team to be able
to just what Mississippi State could notdo. They scored a lot of points,
guys, but they weren't consistent whenthey scored their points. That's all
I'm saying. Yes, Mississippi State, which is a problem Kentucky. They
scored too many points I which youwant to understand that they did. They

still scored eighty nine points, butthey came in spurts. Spurt spurts.
To beat Kentucky, you're going tohave to be consistent scoring the ball,
which makes them take the ball outof bounds, which then makes them bring
the ball ninety four feet where youcan set your defense to where they can't
run into threes, layups and dunks. Kentucky's great off misshots and off turnovers.

I mean, they're really, really, really good. They run like
the old Denver Nuggets. They reallydo. So it's important that a team
can score consistently, not spur chesKentucky. You're gonnacore against Kentucky because they
shoot it quickly, So that's notsaying a lot. Missisippi State had eighty
nine points. That's not saying alot because Kentucky is gonna play fast.
It's how you score. Mississippi Statewasn't consistent with their scoring. They win

in droughts, which gives Kentucky achance to do what they do, multiple
opportunities to score and transition. Sothat's it for the Cats. We're gonna
move all. Great win for Universityof Kentucky. And the only problem,
Anthony, I don't know if youknow, but Kentucky's next game. Okay,
They've got Arkansas at home. Thatshould be a route, Vanderbilt at

home, that should be a route, and then they go away to Tennessee
before this SEC tournament so Kentucky's gota chance to get on a real role.
And I'm looking forward to seeing thatTennessee game. I'm not gonna play
Rocky top on you wildcatch. You'replaying pretty well right now. So and
let's move on to high school.What's going on in the seventh region.

What's going on with the high schoolsports? And who's playing tonight? What
do we have? Yeah, sowe got a bunch of games going on
in the seventh region tonight. Sothe field is already set for the seventh
region. Some of the teams arealready done big game to night ballert in
Eastern big rivalry games. They playeda night at seven thirty at Eastern decide

the winner of the twenty eighth district. But for the seventh region, we
have manuals in Shawnee, Saint xMale Trinity, Seneca who hit a big
game winner last night against Ashington.Yes, hit a big game winner last
night, hit a three pointer totake a winning fifty six fifty five.
And then we have Eastern in Ballotare also in the field as well.

After the games tonight, the numberswill be set for the seeding of who
will play in the seventh Region.Out in Valley High School. Those games
will probably be said to play onearly next week, if not later in
the week this week. Excellent,guys. Let's make sure we support our
high school sports. Let's support thehigh school kids. My best days and

Ballard Gym was packed when Anthony played. And Anthony, I'm not going to
kid you, you had great support. You didn't have fifty percent of hours
any they were sitting on stage,they were standing in the end zone at

bottom line is Jefferson County School Systemwill be able to bust your kids to

the schools in your dish. We'rekilling podio polio, John Marshall, because
we want our kids to go everywhere, which is just madness. If you
want your kids to go to schoolin another district, you got to get
them there. Period. That's yourprogative. But you got to get them
there. That should not be ourtax dollars getting them there. Our tax
dollars should get them to the schoolin their district. Then we wouldn't have

all these problems and we'd have abetter fan support pta the whole nine yards.
