Speaker 5 (01:09):
I think Zach Cazada was just withdrawing.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
His money in order to be able to take it
to the concession stand Saturday night, a.

Speaker 6 (01:16):
Lot of hot dogs.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Uh twenty Well, we don't know, but we're guessing twenty
thousand dollars. Do you think he will you you said
that you thought he should get disciplined.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
Do you think he will get disciplined?

Speaker 7 (01:32):
Yeah, in some capacity, and maybe it won't be a
suspension from a game, but I think they'll discipline him
in some form because they have to kind of send
a message. Man, this is not the culture. This is
not the look we want for our football program.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Right. Let me acknowledge I think it's a bad look.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I'm not saying I don't think it's a bad look,
but I would still ask you what rule he broke?

Speaker 5 (01:51):
I mean it's a bad look.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
But like, you're allowed to have money now, I mean
this isn't like Ashton Hagen's with his money phone or
whatever it was back in the day. I mean this,
you're allowed to have money. It makes you look immature.
But I just don't know. Drew How do you suspend
somebody for what? For going, Garrett, get your money up.
I mean maybe he's giving good financial advice.

Speaker 8 (02:15):
That was my original point. I mean, Dave Ramsey would
probably be upset with him. He's certainly not through baby
step three or four, but overall, like it's just him
looking foolish. I don't know what rule you could say,
don't take video of you with money. That's not probably
in their student handbooks. So I don't know how you
can punish him other than hey, man, don't ever do
that again. You make us look ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I will say this, and as somebody who has responded
to trolls, like I know, sometimes it's hard not to
do it. Somebody trolls you and you want to be
like eat it, you know, et cetera. It's one thing, though,
to respond to the troll and go, you know whatever.
It's another thing to make a video to like, pull
out your stack of money, make a video, send it.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Like.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
There's a lot of steps to responding there, Shannon that
would maybe go why are you doing this?

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Why are you going through all of these steps?

Speaker 6 (03:02):
I'm Garrett, I'm watching that video going I got them?

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Yeah you are? I got him.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
I triggered, he went and he got all that money,
and he's doing that just for me.

Speaker 8 (03:09):
We defend Garrett, but I do wonder what he sent
Zach first to trigger him so much. But Garrett's probably
not innocent in this, but I'm probably going to be
on his side. Pace he got called out in this economy.
We are here at Bespoken Spirits. Remember they have Club
Blue bourbon.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
You can also order it online Bespoken Spirits dot com,
Bespokenspirits dot com. You can go order it that way
or come in. They've got the Club Blue Club White.
Proceeds go to Nile. I want to tell a quick
story yesterday. This happened during the show. I ended up
oddly breaking the scoop of who the new San Diego

(03:42):
Padres manager would be yesterday, and I want to thank
how did it happen? The text machine, the KSR, the
KSR text machine.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
This is kind of a wild story, all right.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
I had to be up in Connecticut for some meetings
and I got done and my flight wasn't until the evening.
So I went to get pizza and I look at
the text machine and there's not as many texts because like,
I'm not on the show given the number, and they're
they know you all can't.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Don't have access to it.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
But there are some and I get one that says, Matt,
you're probably not gonna care about this, but in at
noon Eastern Craig's Stammen will be announced as the new
San Diego Padres manager. I was like, I don't know
who Craig stamon is, and I don't really know why

(04:28):
you're writing me this. But I looked at the guy's
number and he'd sent some nice messages in the past,
and I thought to myself, well, maybe everybody knows this,
so I google Craig Stamming put it on Twitter. No
one has even mentioned him as a candidate for the
Padres job, Like, no one's even mentioned him, And I thought,
why would someone send me something so random, like just

(04:51):
take a name out of left field, Ryan. It's so
random that it almost has to be true, you know
what I mean? Like, why would they pick this guy?
Why would they send it to me?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Why would they make that up? Why would you make
that up? And the guy's not a troll.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
He sent some really nice things to me in the past,
So I thought, you know what, I'm sitting here, I'm
eating pizza, I'm killing time.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Until I have a fly. I'm just gonna put out that.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Craig Stamon's gonna be the new manager of the San
Diego Padres. So I put it out for a while,
nobody says anything, and then all of a sudden a
San Diego Padres fan account finds it says, could this
random radio guy in Kentucky know.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Who our next manager is?

Speaker 4 (05:35):
A lot of Padre fans start seeing it. There's like
thirty minutes, Shannon, where they're just berading me. Yeah, you
don't know anything. How dare you say it's gonna be
Craig's Stammond because literally no one has mentioned this guy.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
I've never even heard of this.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I've never even heard of this guy either, and no
one has mentioned him as a potential manager. And then
all of a sudden, the beat writer for the San
Diego Padres tweets out surprise Craig Stammen to be the
new manager of the Padres.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Oh it wasn't a surprise.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
He did come out if people had watched an hour
and fifteen minutes earlier, thanks to a random person on
the text machine.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
I don't even know who it was. I don't even know.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Who sent it to me. All of a sudden, I'm
getting blown up by San Diego radio shows and reporters
wanted me to do interviews about Craig Stamming, But ma'am, I.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Don't even know who he is.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Did you do him?

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Yes, I did.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
All of them, and I talked about Craig Stammon and
how I just knew.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
He was gonna be the manager.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Didn't give any credit to the text. No, I said,
I had a source, had a good source.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Yea, who put it out there? The Padres like Jeff
passing the ESPNS God. He wrote me and said how
did you know that?

Speaker 5 (06:49):
And I went, how did you not know that?

Speaker 6 (06:52):
Great response? Aren't you the expert here? That's what I
would have said, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
And he said why didn't you write me before?

Speaker 4 (06:58):
And I said I tried, but you your old number
and he goes, well, I changed it seven years ago,
and I said, there you go. You didn't think it
was necessary was to update me on your number seven
years later?

Speaker 6 (07:08):
But later next time he want at Padres scoop.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
If you want Padre's news, I'm the guy to come to.
So I don't even know how this.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Person who told me new I don't really know why
they told me.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
After it went out there and it was announced, he
wrote me back and said that was fun, wasn't it.
And I was like, yeah, it kind of was. And
then right before I walked in here this morning, I
was on their version like their big show, their big shows,
a morning show, and I was on and they just said,
like you're all anyone in San Diego's talking about is

(07:42):
how did this guy get this information? They there are
people who think the GM told me, like the general
manager of.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
The team, But I don't even.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Know who the general manager of the team is unless
he's on the text machine, unless he's a BBN guy
and he's listening.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
I still ryan don't know who told me. But we
were able to break the Padre scoop.

Speaker 7 (08:04):
There's so many elements of the story that I love
the fact that all these beat writers been working on
this story for weeks and you pull out a name
out of the thin air guy I haven't even talked
about or mentioned, And not only did you get pulled his.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Name out, he's the guy.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
If you were right about it, you need to take
a trip to San Diego. You might be the most
popular guy there.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Diego Sports Radio is in.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
It could be in the future San Diego.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
That's it's right, Craig's and first of all, now Krank
Stammon's my guy.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah, we're all in.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
My ESPN producer wrote me last night and goes, how
did you know this? And I said, look, you all
underestimate me. You don't understand, you don't understand. My sources
run deep. And now our celebrity guest picker Sunday for
the NFL, is.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
You're gonna get like the first interview with him, yes,
or one of the first interviews.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Rick Stanman is coming on with me and Myronday to
be our celebrity.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
So you know he's gonna ask you, how did you
know it was me? When nobody else knew?

Speaker 5 (08:59):
How did you know?

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Craig?

Speaker 5 (09:00):
You know how I knew? Didn't you. I'll just try
to act like he was the one that told me.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
But it was kind of a fun story yesterday while
I was sitting there and eating pizza waiting on my flight, and.

Speaker 8 (09:09):
I think it's so much funnier that it's the Padres.
It's like an obscure team. If you asked me to
listen to MLB teams. I would probably forget to name
the Padres. If it had been anything remotely local, you
could understand how you might get that info. But it's
the Padres on the other side of the country.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
So as I was taking my U as I was
going to the airport, I was listening on podcasts to
the show that was running when I put it out,
and you you could listen to them in real time,
y'all to listen to it. I can't remember the name
of it, but it's the San Diego Morning Show. They
first see my tweet and they're like, this couldn't be true.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Who's this clown?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
He's wearing a cowboy hat in his profile? And then
they start to go, well, wait a minute. You know
the general managers from Ohio. Maybe they know each other,
and they start rationalizing it, and then in the middle
of the show it breaks and they're like, Matt Jones,
how did you know that? And I got to listen

(10:08):
to all of that playout check it's one of the
most random things I think you've ever done.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Is kind of awesome.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
So thank you to the whoever it was that sent
that message. Now, if you keep trying to send that.
When I tell these stories like this, then people try
to fool me.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
You ain't gonna pull me.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I could tell that that was correct just by the
way he was. And I'm not you know, I'm discerning
on this stuff.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
But okay, I gotta tell you now, what the three
of us did. You sent us a text and it said, hey,
you guys should read my last three texts on the show.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
Think he met tweets, I wrote texts.

Speaker 7 (10:41):
So we're all talking during the break. What's he talking about?
His last text was a joke.

Speaker 8 (10:45):
I thought Ryan's green messages meant because I a lot
of times don't get our group messages because of him.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (10:50):
Yeah, well, well we're trying to say real time yesterday?

Speaker 6 (10:54):
Were was it Bob ryan reply?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Oh, don't want to talk about Bob Ryan's reply. We're
not talking. That's what we.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
Were gonna read on the air.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
We thought that's what you wanted us.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Don't You definitely shouldn't have said that. You shouldn't have
even brought it up right there. But that was his
last text us, and it was your last text. Well,
all right, so I did send it to you.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
He just said to somebody on Twitter he didn't say
hi to somebody.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
All right, go look it up.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Second thing, did I hear yesterday on the show that
you're gonna let Cash Danie'll put you through a table again?

Speaker 7 (11:29):
We feel like it's a good home And the last
time he did it, Kentucky beat Florida at home. We
need a home sec win. Florida's coming into town. So
we've agreed to do it, run it back and do it.
Old I am, and I'm a little bigger than I
was last time. But guess what so is Cash? He's
a lot bigger than he was last time.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
You're gonna do that at the bar tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, he's during the pregame, during the pregame show.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Yeah, get the medics on standby.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Where are you gonna do it? The pregame shows inside?
Are you gonna do it in the bar?

Speaker 6 (11:56):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (11:56):
No, Like we're gonna go outside and have those plants
cushioned my fall in the in the maults.

Speaker 8 (12:01):
In the ring.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Yeah, you're gonna do it, but but the show's not
out there.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Well, you guys can look through the window. You can
kind of peek and see it.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
I think we'll do it. I think we'll do it
in the bar.

Speaker 8 (12:12):
I think, uh, the concrete doesn't have a lot of
give in the bar though.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Yeah, well, Ryan's the one choosing to do this.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
He doesn't have a whole lot of give either.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Got I got plenty of cushion.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
All right, So you're gonna do that tomorrow during the pregame.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Show tomorrow outside all of the bushes.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Okay, we'll see two eighty seven. By the way, I
will be Shannon Craig Stamon's biggest face. The Reds are
my team. But if he does.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Well, you are forever connected time, forever, the Reds ever
need a manager, Yeah, and get Craig.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Sta I only break Craig Stamon news. Who's up next?

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Mark?

Speaker 6 (12:49):
Mark?

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Go ahead and Mark?

Speaker 9 (12:51):
Hey, what's going on? Man?

Speaker 5 (12:54):
Go for it?

Speaker 9 (12:55):
Hello? Oh hey, real quick, there's kind of long piggyback
on this side. Zach Calzia thing. Yeah, I don't think
you can. You know this one the guy? I mean,
because it is the new normal that we're dealing with now.
I mean it's kind of like if we say, hey,
Denzel Aberdeen goes three four eleven, do we tell him
he can't drive his may back? I mean, just different

(13:16):
things like that. But I think the reason you were
coming coming down kind of hard on our evaluation of
our coaches of players were bringing in. I think they're
kind of working shorthanded because we really have a really
bad offensive system, and I think we get the scraps
of what people are left over. Uh, and people don't
come here and develop. I mean, I look at like
Jamoory Macklin, but who.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Not a second though, like, whose fault is that he
doesn't If it's the case that we're not getting players
because our system is bad and we're not developing them,
that's on us. You don't get to like, you don't
get to say, well, we're not good because we don't
have the players. And then when we don't have the players,
go we don't have players because we don't have the system.
That is the whole point of being a coach. So

(13:59):
I don't agree with you that we don't get players
sometimes because our system is bad because we don't develop them.
But that's on the coaches. That's not like, that's not
some systematic thing. It's their decision and coaching.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
No, I agree.

Speaker 9 (14:13):
I agree with that. I agree with that, and what
I'm saying about that, what I'm saying about that is.
I mean, it's kind of like a crap sheet. This
kid had a thousand yards before he came here. A
lot of people wanted him. You've only had twenty four
catches the last two years here, I mean Idian and
I look at the guys we had last year, Darrian Brown.
It's kind of worked out for him. He's a leading
receiver at LSU. He hadn't worked out as good for
Dame Keith. I mean, you know, you never know what

(14:34):
you're getting into, because yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
I just don't borrow that.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
I don't buy all that first of all, and I
appreciate the call. Let's go to your first point. This
is the new normal. Kalsad is making money. I make money.
I don't make videos throwing cash at people who talk
trash to me like like, he makes money. That doesn't
mean he has to act like a fool like he
just all he's getting. I'm fine with him making money,

(14:59):
I'm saying. I mean, you know, we had players do
this kind of thing before, before they were making money.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
It was dumb then too. It's just a dumb decision.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
As far as the other part you at the end
of the day, I used to say this about Cal.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
You have to judge me. I have to be able
to judge you on something.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Cal used to say, don't worry about the losses in
the preseason. It only matters about March. And then when
we lose in March, he go, didn't we have a
great season? We're young, And I'd say, which one do
I get to care about? Which one do I get
to judge you on? So am I gonna I gotta
judge Mark on something. And it's gonna have to be
wins and losses because the rest of this just there

(15:39):
are too many problems. Tell me about Stocktor Morton Stockton Market.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
You know, now is a good time to buy. You know,
we're in the fall buying season. Rates have dropped a
little bit, so a lot of buyers are now coming
off to fans. Matter of fact, October was one of the
best months we've had in a long time. So if
you're interested in yo, yeah it was. Actually it was
a great time to buy. So thank you for all
the people who went out and bought cowses during the
month of March. November now off with a bang already,
So get hawk stock to Mortgage, get hooked up with

want to get started. Stock to dot com nmls A

Speaker 4 (16:13):
We'll take a break and be right back here. Bespoken spirits,
it says, chsof welcome back in this Kentucky sports radio.
That's a memory we can't share on the air. Eight
I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. Text machine

(16:35):
is seven seven two seven seven four.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Five two five four.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
We're just reminiscing on old texts that have come in
over the years with stuff I wanted to ask you
about the streaming thing to not.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
Yeah, yeah, it'll be there.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
You think it's gonna still be there?

Speaker 6 (16:51):
Sports Live out.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
The game's on the computer again. You can come watch
at ks bar, hope you will. You don't have to
worry about tipping anybody. Well you have to tip, actually
have to tip our sur but you don't have to
tip the people on the stream.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
But uh, yes, are you gonna you think it'll be there?

Speaker 6 (17:05):
The game you're right, will be on the computer. It'll
be on YouTube dot com. Just go there and search
for Kentucky versus and then it'll be there.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
So what's the guy's name?

Speaker 7 (17:14):
The one you're gonna get kicked off on Sports Live Reactions?

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Sports Live Reactions? Are you? Are you? You had said
you might watch the game at the bar? Are you
going to?

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Still up in the air?

Speaker 5 (17:24):
All right, so let's say you don't. Are you gonna
tip this guy? Get?

Speaker 7 (17:28):
I probably would you know he's providing the service, he's
putting the stream up?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Would you dollars?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I'll probably drop it to five this time.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Oh, this one's not as important for you.

Speaker 7 (17:36):
No, No, I was so happy that I got to
watch the game on the streaming servis like Shannon told
us all to do. I found it like, Oh yeah,
this guy's doing me a service. I'm gonna tip him big.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
So if you want, I'm gonna make you an offer.
If you tip me three dollars, I'll mention you on
the post game show.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
I'm gonna cash after you three dollars.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Just I will say, uh, say hello to you. And
do you think the airbe Islamic stream will be up?

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Tough? Course has got to be there for all of them.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
I'm gonna make your prediction.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
I think there's gonna be a lot more of Yes,
I think a lot of people are gonna hear this
and they're gonna try to do it.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
I think there's going to.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Be many, many more streams, all hoping for Ryan Lemon
to come and give them money.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
So it went from three thousand to twenty five thousand,
close to thirty thousand at one point. I think tonight
we will probably get forty.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
And I'm telling you, but I think it's gonna combine
like I think it'll get spread out though. I think
there's gonna be a lot of because I think other
people now are gonna do this because they've found I
think you've created a whole hassle.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
This guy got the KSR bump. It's okay, it's good
for his streaming career.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
They were good streams up the other night, and all
three of them had like twenty thousand at least streaming
at one time.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Yeah, it's a lot of people to be watching.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
Two TV did this to themselves all right.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Actually it was more sp because YouTube TV is at
least getting the YouTube views.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Well, they created this monster. Now they're gonna have to
deal with it.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
I think ESPNC I think more and again I gotta
be careful because I'm an employee, but I think more
people are blaming ESPN. I mean, I've gotten the sense
from a pr perspective, I've kind of gotten the sense
this has not gone great for ESPN.

Speaker 6 (19:08):
Drew.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
I think people have been blaming them.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Which is crazy because we've now missed a whole week
of football and the world's kind of gone on. There's
always this men, this belief you can't miss football. It's
kind of gone on this week.

Speaker 8 (19:20):
I blame ESPN. I mean, I don't. I mean, when
Google is fighting Disney, I hope they both lose. But
they took ESPN Plus, which everyone had, and split it
into two things without really telling anyone.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Yeah, and everyone.

Speaker 8 (19:30):
Thought they had this, but they completely changed the whole
model and just jacked up the price on the new win.
So the way they went about it, they tricked a
lot of people.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
I think you're right about that. Who's up next, Doug, Doug,
go ahead, Doug. Hey.

Speaker 10 (19:45):
I'm normally a podcast listener, and yes, I was just
this morning listening to yesterday's show and Drew and Ryan.
We're talking about Madison Madison viild North Hopkins getting hosed
in the football playoffs, and I just want to explain
to them really fast. They play their district plays against
another district, and the way it's set up, the winner

(20:08):
of their district, which was Owensboro, UH will play the
fourth place team in the second district, which is Grayson
County and Apollo who's second.

Speaker 8 (20:18):
Fact, but we still got host.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
Why did you get let me hear this?

Speaker 4 (20:21):
And I appreciate the call let me hear what you
because the text machine, besides Craig Stamon News, the other
thing where people writing angry at you about.

Speaker 8 (20:28):
Whatever you Ryan brought it up. Ryan's the one defending
my maroons. I even said, what is the coming from me?

Speaker 7 (20:34):
Madisonville finished eight and two the air. Two losses were
to Apollo and Owensborough. But even at eight and two
they have to go on the road and play at
Greenwood tonight that finished six and four.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
But didn't But didn't Did Maddisonville come in third in
district in Greenwood second?

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Yes? Well then for different districts.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Yeah, they're different districts.

Speaker 7 (20:53):
But the fact that we're that happens in all playoffs
now they ust to be based on RPI, and like
Drew said, there Maddisonville is tense, spots higher and RPI.
So's the point we're pro, We're pro Massonville.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
I mean I'm pro Massionville in theory. I also if
that's if the rules the Shane and the rules of
the rules right.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Yeah, rules, it's kind of the way it's supposed to be.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
Later and you're supposed to have rules and enforce them.
What is there a good game tonight? This is the
week of the playoffs where teams win like seventy five
to nothing.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Is there any other one?

Speaker 7 (21:22):
Your Middlesboro Jackets won by fifty last night over Harlan. Yeah,
like fifty something to six. North Bullet East beating North
hardened by a touchdown last night.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
And shout out to Western High School in Louisville that
came I ate at the bar before. I think they
lost badly, but they still came left to sweatshirts there
last night.

Speaker 7 (21:40):
Yeah, Louisville Western stopped by the bar last night, so
we were we were Warrior fans for a night.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:44):
I don't think it worked out, but we were still
for it moves up next, Garrett.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Garrett.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
All right, Now, I don't know if this is I
don't know if this is gonna be the Garrett or not.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
Garrett. Go ahead, Garrett? Are you there? Yes, sir?

Speaker 10 (22:04):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (22:06):
Yes? Now? Are you really Garrett? Are you just a
different Garrett? This is the Garrett man?

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Okay, all right, here's what I'm gonna have to have
a conversation with you. And there's only like thirty seconds left.
Do you have the text machine?

Speaker 5 (22:23):
Seven?

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Seven? Okay, send me a text that would somehow prove
that you're the real Garrett. Will you do that during
the break? Yes, sir, Okay, you send me a text
and if I believe that you're the real Garrett, then
we'll have the conversation. So do that during the break.
We're gonna take a break. This might be the real Garrett.
I think it's him. Please be the real Geared? Why

(22:44):
do you believe?

Speaker 5 (22:44):
Believe?

Speaker 4 (22:44):
All right, we will find out. We'll find out if
he actually has gotten his money right. Presumably he'll be
able to send me something that will make me believe
that's correct.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
We are here at Bespoken Spirits.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Remember you come to Bespoken voted best of Lexington as
a place to go for a date and best distillery.
It's Bespoken Spirits right here, uh, right off loud and
in gray line.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
We will take a break and be right back potentially
with Garrett.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
This is KSAW quarter Back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Great thing about this show you don't know what's gonna
happen at any given point, and we got one of
those moments coming right now before I do it. Your
dream home awaits at Bluegrass Homecenter dot com. You can

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Now joining us on the phone is Garrett. Now.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Garrett sent me a text message. I can't be one
hundred percent, but I think it's close enough that I'll
go with it. So Garrett you are the Garrett who
can It seemed to get his money, right, am I correct?

Speaker 11 (24:03):
That is correct, Matt, So.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Explain to me how this happened. And first of all,
how did it happen? And then when did it happen?

Speaker 11 (24:12):
So basically, even before the season, I had just been
so sending joking messages kind of trolling him, and they
didn't amount to much, but he responded to a few,
and I didn't make much of it. Well, I was
just sitting in my room a couple of nights ago, Well,
I guess last night, and I decided to slide up
on a Snapchat story and say you suck at football.

(24:35):
And he proceeded to call me autistic and then after
maybe just a little bit of stuff that got under
his skin, you know, the normal trolling stuff about telling him.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
I don't want you to say all that. I don't
want you to like get into it.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
But like when you say normal, you know, I'm not
an advocate of like writing players and trolling them.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Is that something you do regular? No? It is not.
So why him, I mean, he's not even playing.

Speaker 11 (25:06):
Well, I'm not a fan of him. I think he's immature.
And the fact that the staff brought him in. I
thought was just a complete embarrassment. So I just felt
the need to let him know that he sucked at football.
And it escalated to something that I thought would never happen.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
So he didn't sit you that you're saying on Snapchat.

Speaker 11 (25:24):
Yes, I slid up and you suck at football. And
he started going at me, and really this was the
only insult I gave him, and he just went off.
He sent me another but before I could get it,
he blocked me.

Speaker 5 (25:38):
Okay, so that was just a couple of days ago.

Speaker 11 (25:41):
That was last last night, two nights ago, two nights ago.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Two nights ago.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
I was about to say, yeah, it came out in so
that was two nights ago, and then uh, and then
you ended up you put it out. So do you
like regret it all trolling him or is that like
just something you do?

Speaker 11 (26:00):
I mean not really. It was just kind of a
goofy thing that I was just having fun with. I
didn't think anything would come of it, and when it did,
it kind of caught me by surprise. And now I'm
just known as the guy that trolls Zach Calzatta, I guess.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
So do let me ask you do you get your
money right or was he correct that it's something you
need to work on in the future.

Speaker 11 (26:22):
Oh, my money's just right. I'm chilling financially. I'm doing
just fine. So nothing to worry.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Okay to him, Shannon, he's chilling financially, don't worry.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
If I went through twenty thousand dollars every time somebody
told me I sucked, I'd be making videos every day.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
Well, I mean it's it's it's an interesting, uh situation.
Do you have anything like do you you know fans
have blown it up and fans are upset. Do you
do you at all regret putting it out there or
do you think it needed to be out there.

Speaker 11 (26:51):
I think it needed to be out there to show
the state of this football program, that we'd bring somebody
so immature into our program. And from what I've seen
and even you, I feel like a lot of people
are on my side that it's embarrassing that he would
even do this to a general fan that says one
thing to him.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yeah, well, okay, well I would just I do have
to say I do think he it was embarrassing. Also,
you know, I would say, don't troll the players either.
But you're a grown man, so I'll let you make
your own decision. But Garrett, thank you very much for
calling in. I appreciate it.

Speaker 11 (27:23):
And by the way, I keep my twenty thousand dollars
safe in the bank. I'm not out here throwing it around.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
He's like, I take my twenty thousand, and I appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (27:35):
In good investments, twenty thousand makes more money. While Zach's
just sitting there on the carpet and there's a snapchat,
all right.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
So there you go. Appreciates call. Do we believe Do
you all believe that is Garrett?

Speaker 11 (27:44):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (27:45):
I do you think so? There's too much detail.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Kind of on Garrett's side. I mean, he just said
you suck and that was it, apparently according to him
and Brian.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
You know what's crazy. You mentioned how Kalzada came with
us on media day. He seemed like straight business, no
joking around. He didn't joke around with us, like he's
super super mature. Now we fast forward two months later
and he's acting like he's the most immature dude on
the team and he's twenty five years old.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
That's a little disappointing.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
I can't imagine going out of my way to make
a video because someone sent me a message on Snapchat.
I think that says a lot about Zach. But I'll
also Garrett, I'm glad your money's good, but we shouldn't
send you sucked in messages to well.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
It sounds like you've been doing it for a while.

Speaker 8 (28:25):
I can't get behind that either, So Garrett, don't do that.
Everyone don't do it. But Zach also, that was Zack's
the most wrong here because that's weird behavior. But don't
send the players.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
Man, you'd probably get a form of that on a
daily basis, right, I mean, oh, we all do not daily.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
But I'm not gonna act like though. I'm not gonna act.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
Like that stuff is easy to sit there and get it.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
I mean, listen, I didn't handle it great ten years
ago and I was in my thirties. If I was
in my twenties and people were sending me that stuff,
I wouldn't have done that because it's just not my style.
But I would have been, like, I'm sure I would
have said stuff that I wish I had not, so
you know, I mean, one of the things I would

(29:05):
say is Zach clearly made a mistake and whether he
should be punished or not, I'm not sure, but it's
certainly a bad look. I think the criticism he's getting
is totally fair. I also would say, you gotta remember
these are human beings.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Man like you.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
People just think you can just say something to people
and it does not affect them. Some people it doesn't
affect like Shannon, it doesn't affect It doesn't affect you,
but like it affects me, sometimes not as much now
as it used to.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
But you know there were times that it did. So
you know I wouldn't have handled it like that.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
But Ryan, I can't say there would have never been
a time I wouldn't have done something that I went,
why did I do that? I mean, I've listen, I've
been in the public eye now for fifteen years. I
have had reactions to people in various places, including in public,
that I regret.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
Like it happens.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
So you handle it some better now though than you
used to. You kind of get get funny with them
now they'll say something you don't think, so I think
he does.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Here's my question.

Speaker 6 (30:09):
Wait wait wait, wait wait wait wait sometimes.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
But but I don't do anything.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
I actually try For the most part, I now go
to one of two ways, either mock the person back
or I actually try to win them.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
If you still respond to people with three followers.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
I shouldn't do well. I now have a rule. You
gotta have at least like fifth.

Speaker 6 (30:26):
At least twenty.

Speaker 5 (30:28):
But I am to the point that if somebody says.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Something personal, now I just balk them. Yeah, like that, like,
there's not like to but somebody says something personal. But
you know, the other thing I would say is it's
easy for people to act like it's nothing if it
doesn't happen to you, you know what I mean, Like,
if you don't, it's easy to act like, oh, just
move on. There are people out there that I can
say something about Trump and they lose their mind on me.

(30:53):
They lose their mind. Imagine if I said something about them.
You know, that's somebody you don't even know, you've never
even met, and you are willing to say awful things
to me. What if I'd said something about you, not you, Steven,
but like, but you know what I'm saying. So I
have a little bit of sympathy for the people receiving it.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
At the same time, though, you can't do what Zach did.

Speaker 8 (31:16):
No, I'm getting my Zach jokes off. That was weird
thing to do, But I also think it's almost equally
weird too, especially on Snapchat that's kind of supposed to
be more. I mean, you didn't message them period. We
need a wall between them. They need a little bit
of protection. And I think anyone that sends you suck
to a player, whatever the team, whatever circumstances, that's odd behavior.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
I do appreciate. Though Garrett actually comes on and talks
about what happened.

Speaker 7 (31:39):
I do appreciate that. But why is he even laugh
at Calzada now? The dude hadn't played in two months.

Speaker 6 (31:44):
He's a troll. That's what trolls do.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Or is there a troll them about you did?

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Do you think, Shannon, if you were not on the
radio and you were just like Shannon doing like a
regular job, do you think you would be an online troll?

Speaker 6 (31:58):
Possibly? Quite possibly.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
I'm glad you're honest about that. I do think you
have online troll characteristic.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
I really don't troll anybody now, but yeah, you know,
you can maybe pull it out of me.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
I feel like you could as a matter of.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Fact, I might write him right, I'll trot it right now.
What's his at? What's his handle?

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Who's up next?

Speaker 6 (32:18):
Sam?

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Sam? Go ahead? Sam?

Speaker 12 (32:23):
Hey, Matt, I just want to let you know. You know,
I'm a realist. And uh, Saturday night, after that ball
came down and Auburn the emotions that I've seen between
Stoops and barn Hart tells me that the Stoops ain't
going nowhere. And you kind of stole my thunder Monday morning.
I was gonna call it Monday about this and you
kind of stole it from me. But you know, I'm

(32:45):
just here, you know, uh bb In, it's you know,
let's pony up and let's get behind these boys this
weekend and get our rear ends in a seat Saturday
night and let's row baby.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
Let's go appreciate the call.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
I agree with you on part two. I hope everybody comes.
I hope it's loud. I hope we win. I hope
it's a fun atmosphere. We need to win an SEC
game just for the program. Just we need to win
an SEC Homie. We had won an SC home game
two and a half years, so we need to win
a game just for the program. With that said, yes,
he gave him the hug, but I saw him give
Joker similar hugs, right like. I think that matters. But

(33:21):
I don't think that's the ending. I know, I said
last week we'll know more Saturday night, Drew. I do
think we'll know more Saturday night. This is the second
straight lose, and I think you're not coming back game now.
If he wins, then it's one of these things. It's
probably gonna be the last minute before we find out
what happens.

Speaker 8 (33:39):
And I think Saturday is big just for the whole operation,
because even if Stoops leaves fired, retires, whatever, the next coach,
as soon as they get here, we're gonna hear had
one home game in two years like that streak can't
linger into the spring, the summer. We will talk about it.
I will talk about it. Everyone will continue to talk
about it. Home losing streak. And you have one game

(34:01):
left to shut it up before this season ends, and
it's tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
And go look at the SEC home schedule next year
and tell me where the win is.

Speaker 8 (34:09):
What I mean, you got to close the book on that, now,
what is it?

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Next year?

Speaker 4 (34:11):
We played both Alabama and LSU at home. Yeah, you know,
just find the obvious win next year. What it is
literally like, we don't. We've got Alabama, LSU's South Carolina's
the one potential. I mean, it's it's a hard it's
a hard schedule next year for the home games. I
want to thank by the way, chef Lee who brought

(34:33):
She's next door. She brought some tacos here that are great.
She's part of the community kitchen over here. Brought us
food last year as well. Uh here in Gray Line station.
Thank her very much because the food is excellent. We'll
take a break and come back. Final segment. This is
Kentucky Sports Radio quarterback in his final segment. Here Kentucky
Sports Radio at the Spoken Spirits Club Blue Bourbon still here.

(34:58):

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Let's pick our four games. I'll go first.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
I'm gonna take BYU's getting ten and a half on
the road at Texas Tech. It's a top ten matchup.
I'm giving ten and a half. No way BYU Cup
is that ten and a half. I don't know if
they win the game, but give me the storm of
Mormons to cover the ten and a half.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
What about you?

Speaker 8 (36:06):
I think BYU is off of Bye too.

Speaker 5 (36:08):
I think losing about ten and a half.

Speaker 8 (36:11):
I'm going with a Vandy bounce back game. In fact,
the one just changed in front of my eyes. It
was six and a half and now it's six, so
I'm even getting a point Vandy minus six. They're hosting Auburn,
which just scored three. We all saw that game. They
don't even know what quarterback they want to play. So
I have Vandy bouncing back after a loss last week at.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Home BYU and Vandy Ryan has been absolutely atrocious to
this but this might be the time he turns it around.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
What do you got? I got?

Speaker 2 (36:34):
I got?

Speaker 7 (36:34):
I was on the positive last week, but the Nebraska game.
But when I don't listen to Shannon on Double Q,
I listened to Paul fine Baum the people during the
commercial breaks. It's entertainment.

Speaker 6 (36:46):
What if Paul fine boss I just want to follow
him around for commercial breaks.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
I listen when you're on Cogion. I turned to Paul
fine Baum.

Speaker 7 (36:53):
Hated that show though, but it's so fun this time
of year because the people are losing their mind about
Memphis being in the playoff piure Memphis host Tulane this week.
That's the other big conversation. John Summrawl and Auburn. They've
already got it figured out. He's going to Auburn, So
I'm picking Memphis. Money Line over to Lane at Memphis.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
Memphis money Line.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah, it's only like three and a half, so.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
Pick him the cover you can. We're not doing money.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Line, Okay. If I lose in by the two points,
I'm blaming it on you.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
All right, find money line, make it money line. I
don't want to listen to whiny Mcbut when TWU Lane wins,
go ahead.

Speaker 8 (37:27):
Were I still don't really know what he bet Memphis
money Memphis.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
Want to take your pick, Drew, but since you took mine,
I'm gonna jump over. It's okay, I'm gonna jump over
to Florida State and Clemson, and Clemson is a one
and a half point favorite. I'm gonna take Clemson.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
And Clemson hosting.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
Yes, oh yeah, I like any Clemson.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
That's a guy. I like that pick. That's a good pick.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
All right, So Florida State, Ryan's wimpy, Memphis money Line,
uh b YU and Vandy are our picks.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
All right.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
Let's uh let's talk a little basketball tonight. Kentucky plays
at seven o'clock againstval Pope, home of Brice Drew back
in the day. They're not good, although they did win
the first game of the BBN.

Speaker 8 (38:06):
You know they played the four seed. Three seed played
the four seed, so.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
They this could end up being for the championship of
the of the Classic.

Speaker 8 (38:11):
We are a what thirty three and a half more
than the other night?

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Wowesday, I'm not touching that one feels really really in
The team totals ninety five.

Speaker 8 (38:20):
Yeah, I mean, I love Kentucky, but I don't see five.

Speaker 5 (38:23):
We're not scoring ninety five tonight.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
But pregame show starts at four point thirty, just in
four and a half hours.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Come to the bar.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
If you're gonna watch the game, let's talk about what
do you want to see tonight?

Speaker 7 (38:32):
Right Obviously, we want to see him shoot the ball
like they did in the second half. Got to get
carry that over to tonight. With Aberdeen and Low maybe
you're both get a chance to run the point. The
offense looks a lot better, and we don't have twenty
five points at halftime twenty eight.

Speaker 6 (38:44):
But yes, the shooting has got to improve. The defense
was much better from the Georgetown game, but the shooting
has got to improve tonight.

Speaker 8 (38:51):
There's a couple of guys who have been pretty atrocious
from the free throw line, and they're guys are going
to be playing significant minutes. One of them took the
most free throws in the last game. Uh so, Marino,
I'm watching you. A couple others have as struggled. Threes
have been a problem. I think that'll correct correct itself
when the offense gets flow, but the free throw shooting
has to do better.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
What worries me about our team shooting is we're also
still not shooting free throws. Well, Like, it's not just
we're not shooting threes. Well, we're not shooting free throws. Well,
that's a bad combination to top make it either of those. Now,
we are actually doing twos at a pretty good rate,
but we're not shooting threes or free throws.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
That worries me. I'm gonna take a score.

Speaker 4 (39:26):
I'm gonna go Kentucky eighty seven, Valpole fifty eight, and
I'll say the MVP is gonna be my guy, Jayleen
Lowe in his first game.

Speaker 5 (39:35):
You think I'm not gonna pick him? What do you, guys?

Speaker 6 (39:36):
I got seventy nine fifty six Kentucky and ugly game, Yeah,
I think yeah. But Jasper Johnson I think will be
the MVP tonight.

Speaker 7 (39:44):
I'll go Kentucky eighty six sixties, and I won't think
one of the big I go Brandon Garrison our MVP tonight.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
I need to see more from him too. Yeah, I
don't think he's had the best start to the year.
What about you?

Speaker 8 (39:55):
I will say a reminder of both these teams control
their own destiny and the BVN United SABO classic intructures.
I will actually take Malacamarino since I just called him
out for not making out making free throws. I think
he'll continue to push Garrison coming off the bench. Kentucky
wins eighty seven sixty four.

Speaker 5 (40:11):
All right, let's go to football. Uh did you raise
your hand?

Speaker 6 (40:13):
Well, yeah, Liam said that. Do we have Tulane in
our parlay?

Speaker 5 (40:17):
No, we have Memphis.

Speaker 6 (40:18):
Okay, never mind, Liam, you don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
Yeah, Liam, watch it? Liam?

Speaker 6 (40:21):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (40:22):
What?

Speaker 5 (40:22):
All right?

Speaker 4 (40:23):
It's a bad football. Kentucky and Florida. Florida's a three
point favorite. Shannon, I'll let you go first.

Speaker 6 (40:28):
Oh. I think Kentucky wins, but it's gonna be ugly.
I think twenty to seventeen and I'll go cutter bully.

Speaker 5 (40:35):
Okay, Yeah, I'll.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Go twenty four to twenty one.

Speaker 7 (40:38):
Kentucky Colway hits a game winning field goal as time expires,
we stormed the field again and life is good.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
When you said cal I thought you were gonna pick
caw Zada as your you should I swear I was.

Speaker 8 (40:47):
Picking Coways my MVP. It's even on the graphic.

Speaker 5 (40:49):
I think it would be fascinating by the way.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
I mean, I obviously I want Cutter to be in
the game in not but what if Calzada has to
come in and play. What if Calzada came in and
played and led us to a victory and played well, yes,
after this, wouldn't that be? And then yes, in the
post game he starts, he starts counting his money. That
would be funny. I have to tell you, well, I
do think that was a mistake. If I were him,

(41:12):
if he were to play at leads to a victory,
he needs to get his money right in the post game,
I would give him that.

Speaker 5 (41:17):
Well.

Speaker 8 (41:17):
I love Cutter Bowley, but I would love nothing more
than Calzada winning that game. In the press conference, just
calling out Garrett at the microphone, So just double down.

Speaker 5 (41:25):
Yeah, Okay, Kentucky wins. I haven't switched.

Speaker 8 (41:28):
I believe in it. I think Cutter Bowley has his
first turnover free game. I had a lot of turnovers
with the offense lately, and I'm I'm sticking with Colway
as my pick because I have him making three field goals.
He had that one from forty eight that would have
been good from fifty eight last week, right down the middle.
I think he'll have the decisive points.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
Yeah. I mean, I've gone back and forth on this.
I think I think they got one more left in him.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
I think the only fitting way for the Stoops era
to close would be with everybody in controversy and not
sure what to do, which is why I think we're
gonna end up five and seven.

Speaker 5 (42:01):
So I think Kentucky's gonna win.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
I'm gonna say nineteen seventeen and I'll take Cam Miller.

Speaker 5 (42:07):
My man.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
The young receiver has been doing great, so I'll take him.
Thank you all very much here at Bespoken Spirits in
the crowd that came out Club Blue Bourbon. We will
see you at four point thirty today three thirty tomorrow
for Ks Bar for the pregame.

Speaker 5 (42:21):
This has been Kentucky's sport

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
