Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio present it
by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
All right, welcome back. I re number two Kentucky Sports Radio.
Lot's going on. People are telling me Ryan that the
alarm is not as loud over the radio as I
make it out to be, but they can't hear it
right here where it feels like it's like piercing my soul.
I'm glad it's not as annoying on the radio, but
here I can't hear myself think when it beats.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Allegedly, they've agreed to not test it till after twelve noon.
It's supposed to be this hour, no alarm.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Right, thank you to City Center. That's nice of you.
Allegedly again for my purposes, feels tested. I think we're
good for my purposes. It feels like it works, But
thank you to them for doing that.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Jay and Lyndon is live at Sissy Cakes.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Okay. This is the.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Bakery that I think is co owned or owned by
will Stein's mom. Jay, you are there? How are you?

Speaker 5 (01:57):
I'm actually standing outside while will Stein's mom is being
interviewed on TV.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Okay, that's exciting. Have you have you gotten to eat
a cake yet?

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I haven't ready to go. I haven't tried it yet,
you know, I'm gonna know, I'm getting blown up by
all my Trinity buddies because I'm a known Trinity hater.
I guess this is my pennant.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
So you're a Trinity hater.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
I'm a Trinity and L hater. So I better. This
is like my I went to the sales so with Ralph,
so I, uh, this is my penance, I guess.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
So what is the sales is like? Is the sales
like the Catholic School for the working class?

Speaker 5 (02:38):
That's exactly it. It's a school of the people.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Well it's a private school. It can't be that much
of the people, but it is like more of Okay,
so so first of all, the cake. What kind of
cake is this?

Speaker 5 (02:53):
This is the orange juice cake.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
J take a bite for us and tell us this
bite will decide what the Will Stein era is going
to be like at Kentucky.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
All right, I'm in here now.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
This is Will's mom talking to the station around there. By
the way, the reporter, the TV reporter said, there are
KSR fans coming in during the show buying cakes. So
say when you go in, say ks R to the mom,
along with saying go cats and uh, And.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
She brought up KSR in the interview.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
What she say?

Speaker 5 (03:34):
She said, she's a KSR listener.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
N look at that our new coach's mom is a listener. Shannon,
how about that?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
That is we need to hear how this cake is though.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
All right, so tas tell me what the cake's like.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
It is absolutely incredible.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
We're going.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
In the middle of it. It is so moist. I'm
not kidding. It is phenomenal.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Orange bowl. Here we go, orange juice cake at Sissy Cakes.
If you're a Kentucky van in Louisville, you gotta go
sell them out, right, They're gonna be sold out by you.
Gotta go and say so. Is she off her interview?

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Yet?

Speaker 5 (04:18):
They are not, but they want to come on. They
said it's I don't know what they're talking about now,
but they got how could they talk?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
All right, Jay, you go ahead hang on when she's
ready to talk, Uh, just tell you what hang up,
and then when she's ready to talk, call back and
that'll give Shannon the signal.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Okay, all right?

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Is this my first correspondent job this?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I think this is the first time. The last correspondent
we had was WU when Ryan got a helus that's
the last time we had a correspondent. All right, So
just Jay just called back when she's ready to talk. Okay,
got it, all right, appreciate.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
What's some in depth reporting there? He did.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
What's will Steinsbaum's name? I don't want to talk. I
don't want to say the wrong thing. I'll look it up,
look it up. I mean we need to like address her?
Or do I say missus Stein?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
It'd be polite. Yeah, But I mean, what do you thin, Debbie?
Should I say Debbie or should I say missus Stein?
We don't get this wrong. People care about how you would.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
I would say missus Stein. To be safe. We're just
meeting her.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
We'll work our way into Debbie if she if she
says we can call her, then we'll call her Debbie.
But up until all.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Of our mothers raised us to be polite gentlemen.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Okay, apparently this is like next to the burger king
in Saint Matthew's. I'm trying to think, where is the
First of all, I didn't know there were still burger kings.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh, there's burger kings everywhere. But in Louisville, where's everywhere?

Speaker 6 (05:37):
Lived there on brecon No, what was that called?

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Since Shelby says on Shelbyville Road, I could walk next
to the Black Rabbit, where again on on Netflix there
are murders there.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
It's close to Drakes, It's close to ten Roof. I
just played at ten Roof last week. I know exactly
where that's at.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
I trained the ten Roof staff when they opened, right
over there and walked on down.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Okay, all Righty's Cakes High School, Like you said, big.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Day for Sissy's Cakes today, though may here be a
record breaking day for him?

Speaker 4 (06:05):
All right, let's talk about a couple other things heard
through the grapevine. Sources tell KSR Mark Stoops and UK
actually in a very good place right now. That Mark
Stoops uh was a little taken aback because he didn't
think it was going to happen immediately or like that
it was going to happen, but also understood and is

(06:27):
even planning on staying in Lexington.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
There.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I'm really glad to hear that.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yes, are you surprised? I am a little surprised. I
really kind of thought maybe he might leave town get
a fresh start somewhere.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Well, I mean, I think if he gets jobs sometime,
he'll be sure that until then probably will stay.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I genuinely believe that he loves this place. He loves Kentucky,
he loves the university, he loves the football program. And
I didn't believe it has hurt him that he wasn't
as successful as he should have been the last couple
of years.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
Doesn't surprise me at all he's staying. I mean, I
don't know his personal life well, but I mean this
has he said, this has been home for thirteen years.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
He said, I'm a Kentucky Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
A couple of weeks he doesn't have family back in Youngstown.
I mean, was he gonna move back to Miami? I
mean as a coach, he bounce around, and this is
where he's been the longest. Got a big home, we
got several friends in a network here. Doesn't shock me
at all that he would want to stay.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Loves horses, has that bourbon thing that's huge.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I think his bourbon business.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
And what if he came to a Kentucky basketball game
this year, Like what if he was.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
There to not.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
It'd be a little weird, I think, would it be weird?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
It would definitely be weird if he went to a
football game next year.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
Oh, I bet he's he's going to football game. I
think a football game. What else is he gonna do?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
What if he showed up like tonight's going to be
a celebration, he probably can't go tonight.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah, that would be a little strange. Yeah. If I
were him, I'd I'd let it sit for a few
weeks and then maybe thought if he showed up at
a game in like January.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
And they show him up on the Jembo truck, people
would cheer.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
I think they would.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I think there's a lot of people that would as.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
There are people that would cheer tonight if he was there.
I do, I genuinely do it would. I think it
would be odd to have him there, especially if they're
introducing the new coach, because it's like you're watching the
new girl for it. But if you if he were
to come in January, I think he would get a
big round.

Speaker 6 (08:21):
I do.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I think a lot of people's feelings about him changed
when he agreed to extend the buyout. I think if
he was going to handcuff and hold us to that
sixty day buyout, I don't know if he would be
openly received in January. I've been a.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Little surprised just how positive the online, which is the
harshest people, the online.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
Reception to him has been. Yeah, even some of the
people that were the nastiest before the last two weeks
of results made it obvious that he needed to change.
I've seen them turn a little bit. I think it's
everyone just wanted to change so bad. Now that it's happened,
you just have to be a hater to just keep
on hating.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
All right, call Jay and Lyndon. He says he's ready.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Okay, was he too?

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Bit?

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Is too big to call us?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
I mean he just said, we are ready, But I
call me.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
They've got phone lines open.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
All right, I'm gonna tell him to call us. He
may not know the number.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
He doesn't know he's how many times he called this
show over the years. He doesn't know the number.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
I'm calling them.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
I'm calling him.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
All right.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
He's gonna have the game for Mark Steeps. Okay, the
Florida basketball game. He owns Florida. Make sure he's got
I mean, that's plenty of that's in March, plenty of
time to let you know. Let Tom pass let will
have his moment, all right.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Eight five ninety two eighty seven. We do have a
couple of lines. All right, Jay and Lyndon is there
at Sissy Cakes. Jay is Missus Stein there with you.
Missus Stein is right here with me.

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Yes, mam, all right, let's put her on there.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Okay, I'm gonna put her on. That's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Hi, Matt, Hi, how are you welcomeing? How's he going
today on the show?

Speaker 8 (09:54):
I love your show. I listened to your show.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
That is so nice.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
In the car, that is so nice. Can we call you?
Can we call you Debbie?

Speaker 8 (10:02):
You can call me Debbie of course?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Okay, all right, So Debbie, First of all, how excited
are you that your son is becoming the UK football coach?

Speaker 8 (10:13):
Oh my gosh, It's it's hard to even put into words.
I mean, my heart is racing right now so fast.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
It's so.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
Exciting. I can't even. I can't even, really, I can't even.
I'm for clempedos up. I have my UK Wildcat football
poster up and my basketball poster right there right. I
work at Sissy Cakes every day and that's I'm in
the packaging department. My sister and I both do everything,
but that's kind of my thing. I do the packaging

(10:43):
and she does the baking and I look at that
every day and they've been up the whole time. I
got them at Kroger.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
So anyway, so you you did you all have a
DeMarcus Cousins poster in your house?

Speaker 8 (10:55):
We most certainly did. Yes, I had the demorcs Cousin.
I can't remember because I think it was in the
Lexington newspaper, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Like, Yes it was.

Speaker 9 (11:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
So you got the big fold out one, the full size.

Speaker 8 (11:10):
Yes, the full size, the Marcus Cousin poster. Yes, I
still have it, and I remember put piecing it together
and I got it laminated and then it was hanging
up in the boys room.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
So your husband played at UK and you all have
been season ticket holders for how long?

Speaker 8 (11:27):
Yes? He was a football player from nineteen eighty to
nineteen No, yeah, eighty to eighty five. And wait, what
was the second part of the question.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Yeah, how long have you been season ticket holders? I
heard your season We did.

Speaker 8 (11:40):
Give up the tickets, so I know I've heard that
report out there. Yes, we were season ticket holders for
the longest time. Yes, but just as the boys, you know,
it just got busy and I was a school teacher.
It was hard to go to those Tuesday night games,
and we found that we were giving away the tickets
quite a bit.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Oh you were, but you were a basketball season ticket
holder and football and.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Football okay, well we had both, uh huh, all right.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
So now your son goes to u of L to play?

Speaker 6 (12:07):
Was that hard?

Speaker 8 (12:11):
H It was a little strange, especially when we UFL
played UK and going into CommonWell Stadium with William as
the starting quarterback, that was a little little felt a
little weird. And I know at some of the games
maybe sometimes said gokats accidentally, I love it, I love it,

(12:32):
I love it. I did that a couple of times.
But I was like, oh, I'm so sorry. But so
I mean, had opportunity for William to go to u
of L, I mean, it wouldn't have it all. You know,
he met Charlie, he met Bobby Trino, he met Charlie Strong,
the path to Texas coaching in Texas, you know, it
all went the way it really truly was supposed to go.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
And now he's and now he's back and now he's
back home. This is very exciting.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Now.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
You know, we talked about Sissy tell us about Sissy cakes.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Well, my sister Blakey, and she's standing right here. She
might have to come on and say hi as well.
Blakey and I've been baking cakes for thirty years, and yeah,
we we have this little cake business that is just
absolutely exploding. Even before all of this, We've been doing
this a long time. We also sell our cakes to

(13:25):
all four Paul's fruit markets, So no, we heard that. Yeah,
get our cakes, you know every day. We have a
big website presence. We ship across the United States. We
have been asked to ship in other countries. We haven't
gotten that together yet, but yes, it's it's something. And
our oranges cake is the world famous cake.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
All right.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
So I've told KSR fans to come in there today
and try out the cakes. I hope you have a
good supply ready, because I think you're going to get
a bunch of traffic today. But I'm sure we'll meet
you here at the press conference soon. But can congratulations.
This has to be a really cool day for you,
and we're all very excited to have your your son

(14:06):
part of the team.

Speaker 8 (14:08):
Oh, thank you so much. We are just absolutely thrilled
and everyone has been wonderful thus far. My son, Nate.
I have four boys, so will we call him William.
Everyone that knows him from birth is it's William, but
will it's number two. So Matthew, William, Nathan and Lee
and Nate and I are heading to Lexington here in
a couple hours to meet the plane and take care

(14:30):
of the babies and you know, be part of it
for the next couple of days.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
So and now we know when he's going to be here.
I'm just going to say, Divvy, that's kind.

Speaker 6 (14:39):
Of so sorry, don't worry about it. It's fine.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
I think people, well I think that means you know
what's at the game. Let me talk to your sister
just to say hello.

Speaker 8 (14:50):
Okay, hey, here's sister Blakey.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Hello, Blakie. I hear you bake the cakes.

Speaker 10 (14:58):
I bake the.

Speaker 8 (14:58):

Speaker 8 (15:03):

Speaker 6 (15:06):

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Well good, I'm going to come in there next time
I'm in Louisville. I'll be there later this week. I'm
going to come get an orange juice cake. And I
hope you'll have enough, because I think you're about to
get a run of customers.

Speaker 8 (15:17):
I think maybe we are. Yes, we're excited to feed
the masses.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
All right, well, good well, Blakeie, thank you and keep
your sister calm. I'm sure this is an exciting time.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
There you go liveing. That's that's a journalist.

Speaker 2 (16:01):

that he's coming in this afternoon.

Speaker 6 (16:05):

Speaker 4 (16:06):
I get bet that means he's gonna be at the games.

Speaker 6 (16:09):

Speaker 6 (16:18):
Will you get Matthew, my grandparents. I get it, William people.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
William Stein will take a break right for pack I'm
for clipped here on ks R. All Right, somebody's already
found his flight, shaitning.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
That didn't take long. They've already got it.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
That doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Uh from Eugene, Oregon. Takes off like literally right now,
what what's j V why airport? Would that be Jeffersonville, Indiana.
That would confirm that it was the second plane.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
That's like Clark County Airport.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Up in in Indiana. So uh so, yeah, taking off
right literally eleven twenty five eastern, so two minutes from.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Now, they'll be better hurry and get over here.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
You can actually well well, I mean it's to three
it's a four hour flight, got yeah, so like you
need to go get the cake before the she's got
to take care of the baby, Yeah, take care of
the babies. Well you can actually, Kentucky fans could actually
track the flight. Our coach is on their way here
from Eugene too. I mean, there can't be too many flights,

(17:24):
Shannon from Eugene to Clark County, Indian especially it's private,
right imagine there's a lot of routes. No, it's a
private play So so there you go. That's it well
was very nice, by the way, listening to her get
choked up like.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
That, Yeah, she almost.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
My mom has already like written me crying about it.
And she she said she's calling him William also like that.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
She said. While her son was in a Louisville uniform
playing in front of her, she was saying, go CAATs
and men.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
That shows how deep your love for Kentucky. DeMarcus Cousins
Poster laminated it.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
Oh, she laminated. She said, that's kind of cool. I didn't.
I guess I didn't totally process that. That's uh, that's
very cool.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
By the way, you if it's as we get ready,
let me find here Clayton and Crew. It's founded on
a simple idea. All other goods could last a lifetime.
If you're trying to figure out what to get somebody
in your life for Christmas, bags, belts, wallets, and more.
At Clayton and Krum a Kentucky company, Drew and I've
gotten Christmas gifts from this. We've given him Clayton and
Crummy dot com. Honestly, my mom doesn't know what to

(18:33):
get me to just get something from Clayton and Crew,
not even getting some She does Clayton and crum cereuimmy
dot com visit their flagship store in Louisville on Shelby Street,
located in New lou quality leather goods, built to last
at Clayton and Crew. How about that by the way,
sissy cakes, Uh, I now want to get one of those,
but you get the snow.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I'm hoping somebody will bring us one maybe tomorrow. The
show tomorrow, can't hint, don't make everybody do your work,
can hint?

Speaker 4 (18:59):
And week week we are gonna be at tomorrow and Thursday?
And pregame show tonight? Is it seven weird time? But
it's at seven o'clock?

Speaker 6 (19:07):
Mark? Go ahead?

Speaker 9 (19:08):
Mark, Hey, this show is definitely a best of.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
All the beefs, even with all the Beeves.

Speaker 10 (19:19):
Even it's because of first of all, it's funny, the
repetition is clearly annoying, and then the freak out, Oh
my gosh, we are we're dying over there.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
All right, Channon, put it in the rotation. You can
do that Christmas Day or Christmas Eve if you want.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
We got it.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
That's all I wanted to tell you.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
Well, all right, it makes me feel bad.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Part of it is you get so excited about these
big shows and you want to go well, and then
you come in and it starts.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
But you know, maybe that's part of the beauty of
it all.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
I guess when I was listening to Howard Stern as
a kid, Ryan when they would freak out and like
go crazy that I can remember those already. Once almost
like murdered his personal assistant on the air. I remember
that very distinctly.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
So that's why one of my favorite shows of all
time is The Charles Ramsey Show, because throughout the show
you just kept getting more irritated and more frustrated and more.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
See Cohn who ended up in federal prison. Yes, I'm
sure Trump will pardon him in the next few months,
but he did end up in prison, just for the record.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
And so by the finally the end of the show,
you're about to explode, and here he comes.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Charles Ramsey showed it's the show ended, Mark go ahead, Mark.

Speaker 10 (20:37):
Hey, guys, I was wondering since Simmer left, did they
make the decision the fire stoops and get steined because
they didn't want to wait and lose another Kentucky connection,
And did the Trinity Let's call in the Trinity Mafia.
Did they have anything to do with with Stein getting hired.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Mitch is not part of that world, so I don't
think so, though I appreciate the call. I do think though,
like the Trinity, uh you know they.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
Do call him the Trinity from Afia.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
I do think it could open up who knows, maybe
new donors to the program, a lot of money in
the Yes, there's I mean, they have a lot of
talent on their football team.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
A lot of talent.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Now that you know Louisville was kind of you would
think would take that. And now, by the way, it'd
be interesting. There are a lot there's a lot of
whispering that she mentioned Charlie Strong about maybe him as
the defensive coordinator. What would you think if former U
of L head coach Charlie Strong or his defensive He
was a great coordinator, He was a great defensive coach, just.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Not a good head coach.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Would it would be weird?

Speaker 4 (21:40):
I mean, you want to talk about somebody that we
need to go clean the archives for. Well, they did
a lot of that on their own. That Justin Burke
is a quarterback from Louisville. That's a big name in coaching.
That Stein could bring with him the kid went to Capital.

Speaker 6 (21:56):
There could be a lot of U of L influence
on this stuff, which I know they just this one
forty one and nothing. They're still having their victory lap.
But this has to be eating them up a little
bit inside.

Speaker 11 (22:05):
No.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Oh, well, that's a whole note that the Louisville fans
are heartbroken. I'm trying to think who the Kentucky equivalent
of this would be. Who's the Kentucky guy? Nah, because
we who's a kid that went to UK that maybe
wasn't the biggest player, but we just had a disproportionate
love for it. Be almost like Jared Paulson becoming the

(22:27):
coach of Louisville.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
That'd be hard.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Yeah, what would you think if Jared Paulson was the
Louisville coach?

Speaker 2 (22:34):
I wouldn't like it. My initial react similar right to
walk on had to start.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Occasionally it's a good pick if Jared Poulson was a
great college basketball coach and you assume one day he'll
coach here.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
I think Stein being a trinity like actual player legend
eats them up too, because they loved him in high school.
He was a great quarterback for Trinity.

Speaker 7 (22:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:54):
See wow, we'll take a break. Be right back. It's KSR.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
TJ. Smith, personally injury attorney called TJ.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
He'll make them pay now more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Uh So, Corey Price just found the high school picture
of will Stein's parents.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
See it.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Look at that tux right there. That's that's a that's
a good looking couple.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Back then. You could see how they know what the tucks.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
That is a heck of a tucks. People wear that
back then. Oh yeah, I wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
Want to mess with that guy.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Apparently will Stein's dad was college roommates with Jeff Piccoro.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
Didn't know that he was on the team that beat
Tennessee before.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
The didn't play is that with Freddy?

Speaker 6 (23:48):
He had to play with Freddy?

Speaker 7 (23:49):
Right?

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Thinks you just missed the start like eighty seven, I think.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
Uh yeah, wow, a lot of stuff on here. The
show continued.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
It just feels right, you know, it just feels right.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
We need to talk about one thing. What about Vince Marrow?
All these former players? So, Jeff Bidette and Juce Johnson
were on a podcast. I didn't get to listen to it,
But did I hear just not saying about Vince.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
It's pro stoops, but all the other people assistants, not
just Vince Lamar Thomas. They didn't like lam definitely didn't
like Lamar Thomas. H said Vince kind of threatened to
hold him back from the NFL.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
Yeah, and then other people are chiming in and said
if I could tell the stories I had, Yeah, I like,
including Lynn Bowden. Just did and Garrett, that can't be
about Vin. Vince and Lynn we're very close, so that
that surprises me.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
Garrett Johnson and Jeffidett are two of my favorites. Garrett specifically,
I feel like he don't even enough credit for that.
Vince kept them told NFL teams not to pick them. Now,
Vince respond and said, you know, I didn't say that,
but they said that on a podcast. I have one
little When Jeff was going through the draft process, and
this has never happened with any player ever. Someone from

(25:11):
the Titans reached out to me and asked about Jeff
Bedett's character. That's never happened for any basketball anything ever.
So just the fact that I that happened gives me
a little bit of all right, something going on here.
But also I don't know did both those guys leave.
I know Beddett did. Bidett left it. That's kind of
his point. He's like, I knew they were going to
hold me back from the NFL at the end of
the year. They're actually very clearly like Kentucky. We love Lexington,

(25:33):
we love the school, we love the fans. Jeff Benett
even says, even though I went to Oklahoma, I'm raising
my kids to know that I went to Kentucky. I
can't wait to take them back and show them around.
He's like, me, leaving was because I knew that they
weren't going to get me to the next level. He
made that very clear.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
Yeah, although we did get a lot of people next
but not wide receivers.

Speaker 6 (25:51):
Although we wandell and it wasn't just that they said it,
and there probably there might be some exaggerating there. I
don't know, have no clue, but the other players and
then like, yeah, tell them that concerned me a little bit.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Yeah, there are players chiming in. I mean at this point,
I guess, I mean, Vince isn't here, so uh, almost
ten years since those guests pat.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Or talking about Vince, we never talked about his tweet
he made during the during the game from the sideline.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Did we not talk about that?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Huhuh?

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Shannon, what do you think about Vince tweeting at Nick
Rouse with six minutes to go in the game?

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Boss move?

Speaker 5 (26:23):
Ye?

Speaker 12 (26:23):
Forty one to nothing?

Speaker 2 (26:25):
You know what, you're not even concerned about?

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Why?

Speaker 6 (26:28):
Nick Rouse?

Speaker 4 (26:30):
How do you like that? Nick Rouse?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
I know he should have just kept going. I don't
know why he stopped at Nick, but it was during
the game. The game was over at halftime.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
I think he didn't do it like at me because
I've not said anything.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
I don't know what Nick said. I thought they liked
each other. Vince replied to a Nick tweet that wasn't
even about the game. It was about something else in
college football.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
So it was six minutes to go, Vince got on
his phone, looked up Nick Rouse, and didn't they just want.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
You don't know he's there? You know, hello, Nick Grouse?

Speaker 4 (27:00):
That's all he said.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
I mean, Shannon, right, that was a boss move and
he was still here. We would all be bragging on
him talking about.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
I mean, I'm not criticized like it is. I mean,
you you don't want people tweeting during the game.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
Beat him, beat him.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
But if you're if you're just problem you think you
like you think he's happy about tweeting during the game.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
You're up forty one to nothing, go for it. I
mean that's taking shot to Nick Trause.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Nick's tweet was about John John Sumrall withdrawing his name
from the Auburn search as Florida continues to look at him?

Speaker 4 (27:30):
What did Vin say?

Speaker 6 (27:31):
Hello Nick Rouse?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
The tweet had nothing to do with the.

Speaker 6 (27:35):
Game, whatsoever?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Hello Nick Rouse? Hello?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
And then Vince.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
Retweeted our predictions and said, look at these experts.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Yeah, of course we're gonna We weren't on that. That
was that was y website.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Website.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
He didn't include me and you thank I admit I
loved it. I mean, you're up forty one nothing. What
am I gonna do about it? Do what you want?

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Devin, Go ahead, Devin.

Speaker 13 (27:54):
Hey, guys, you actually just brought up what I was
going to ask about. Although I do kind of wonder out,
you know, Jeff Beddett's character, if he's going going online
talking about this stuff, well, I mean, I mean.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Careful about saying I be careful about saying that This
is kind of the new thing in sports. Athletes tell
like true stories about their lives.

Speaker 9 (28:15):
And you know, I I.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
I'm always very hisstan to say anything about people's character.
Like two really good people can also fight, you know
what I mean? I mean, I know people who hate
each other and they're both good people. Like that happened
and fashion here how they spoke about Kentucky. They're just
raving about their time otherwise.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
So go ahead.

Speaker 13 (28:34):
Yeah, Well I'm the other thing was just I'm really
excited for will Stein be the coach Kentucky. You know,
he was the all time favorite player of mine growing up.
I mean whenever he stared down mantras harrel dunking all
over Florida.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
Yeah, what about that for a second.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Appreciate the call. How about we have another I mean,
we did have a Willie Stein. Now we have what
would have been the chances in two thousand and seven
that you would say, in the next twenty years there
will be two people named will Stein who are a
big part of Kentucky athletics.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
Could he be the receivers coach? He's got background flaying
receiver played.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
It's been brought up. I mean, how crazy is that?
That's a you know, I didn't even put it too
and two to get till somebody Tweeter says, you know,
we have another Willie Stein.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
We need an update of Kentucky Joe's Willie colly stein Man.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
We do, but he needs to find a way to
not put cally. He's got to take that out and
just say.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
He's a will Stein's William stein Man.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
He's a William I'm a William stein Man.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
If they had any creative creativity over there, they'd bring
Willy cally Stein into Lexiton to have him like show around.
He's in and out.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Yeah, but they should have him, like Lilly need to
do something with the two of them, with Willy and
Will like they need to do that.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
That's that's too easy of a video opportunity right there.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
That's that is a that's a great idea. They need
to do something.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Yes, no release in three years. By the way, KSR
is sending someone to live stream the plane.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Nice, we will have people.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
There is a part of this that is exactly why
I love bbnnks are. I mean the whole thing last
night about the plane and like everybody sit like that.
It hasn't taken off yet it's cleared for takeoff. No,
but they still haven't taken off, and then there's a
decoy plane. Like that's what I love. Sometimes we get
so wrapped up in the serious in this that we
miss that sort of the door with col and just

(30:29):
the goofing and even today sissy cakes, if you go
send me a text on the text machine, like if
you get a picture of the cake seven seven two
four five two five four, if you if you go
eat one today, just send it. And now I may
compile a post of all the people getting their sissy cakes.
So that point about how fun this has been.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
You look around. I mean, it's not old miss Lsu,
but it's just utter chaos down there. Flora's fans are
kind of hating on summer after the press conference, we're
just talking about buntcakes and when the plane land.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
Yeah, I mean like because of the end of CAS
and the end of Stoops, you know, it hasn't been
a ton of these like fun goofy moments, and I kind.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
Of like that we're getting to do that free bird
go ahead.

Speaker 9 (31:11):
Hey guys, I agree with that last caller. I was
thinking will Stein would be a triple this show had
just made this a home run higher, And I have
a question, do you think this may be Mitch Barnhardt's
swan song.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Yes, I do, I think this. I think this is
a higher. Here's how I And again he'll have to
he'll talk to the media tomorrow, maybe somebody will ask
him that. I do wonder if like this is a
way for Mitch to leave and say, I've left this
in the hand of two of your own, two young
rising potential stars, and we've left it in their hands,

(31:48):
and like that becomes kind of his legacy. I do
think free bird, that's that's maybe one way to.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Look at.

Speaker 9 (31:56):
Well, this is a legendary show. Guys, make sure, like
you said, save it for as soon as you can.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
I appreciate it, thank you very much. But yeah, I
think that's I could see that.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
I think Mitch's legacy did it a lot depend on
this this hire right here. If he messed this up,
if he didn't get the right guy, I think that.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
Would Mitch has this. I was thinking about this the
other day. When you look at Mitch barnart hires, he
seems to have like a two out of three record
and every sport. So I'm gonna assume Pope does well
for purposes of my argument. Okay, Pope and cow good,
Billy and Rich Brooks and Mark Stoop's good, Joker, Phillips, Eh,

(32:41):
Matthew Mitchell and Kenny Brooks good, kyra Elzy eh, Nick
Menon and Cohen right good?

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Did we have an a Gary Henderson?

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Gary Henderson two out of three in every sport?

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Pretty good?

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Now this is his first one.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
That's a fourth, yeah right right?

Speaker 4 (33:04):
So now if he's two out of three in every sport,
what happens when he gets his fourth? He's got a
sixty six percent batting average.

Speaker 6 (33:13):
Orange Bowl.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
He had to win this one though. Get the fans
base back on board with football? You agree with my
I mean yeah, like that. I mean that's four major sports.

Speaker 6 (33:22):
H huh?

Speaker 4 (33:23):
And Shannon two out of three in.

Speaker 12 (33:25):
All of them?

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Right, two out of three ain't bad.

Speaker 6 (33:28):
I've been all over Mitch lately. That's not I don't
think that's a secret. I gotta compliment him on this.
I wanted Stein. He got it done quickly, he made
the move. I didn't honestly didn't know if he was drama.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
No drama, so you know I.

Speaker 6 (33:40):
Would have to be a hater to not say something
nice about mentioning this. I think he nailed this higher.
We'll find out how it looks on down the road
with results. But I've been I've been pretty harsh on
him lately, and I got to say he did great
here and you had fine by I'm saying yesterday, he's
waited too long. He's waited too long, and a couple
hours later it breaks it. It's happened, right.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
So what are you hearing about the contract? Will Stein's
cost five years?

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Don't know the money, five years. So that thing that's
pretty standard for you guy. Kentucky Skins Cancer Center just
sent us their new travel skincare sent set. I actually
just used it the other day. They gave all of
us one.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
You have yours got mine in the trunk of my car.

Speaker 4 (34:13):

your skin better in the trunk of your car. Bathroom

little bit of a globe today does like because I
didn't have botox. We don't know where you get that,
but I did have Kentucky Skin Cancer Center dot com
usic code KSR fifteen percent off. We'll take a break
bery back to Kentucky's sports quarterback.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
It is.

Speaker 6 (34:54):
Kentucky Sports Radio. A lot of people are ordering the
sissy cakes. I hope they have.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
I think which one was the baker blake Blakie Blakey.
I think Blakeie's gonna have to do some work. People
are sending me. There's some people have gone in, but
a lot of people are going to sissy Cakes dot com.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Have you ever had orange juice orange juice cake before?

Speaker 11 (35:13):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (35:14):
I don't think I've ever had.

Speaker 6 (35:15):
Ever even heard of it. I'm worried we're gonna distract
her when she needs to be celebrating with her son.
She's like, I can't go to rough. I have two
thousand cakes to package by tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Uh, let's go to Let's do some breaking news.

Speaker 6 (35:28):
Running non.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Matt Panatowski, Is that right? I say his name? The
four star quarterback that had committed to Kentucky under Stoops,
but was not going to sign until the spring has
now decided with the hiring of will Stein to sign
with Kentucky on signing day tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
That's that's big for perception purposes, if nothing else, that's huge.
You get him to sign, that's big.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
I mean he was down to Kentucky and Oregon.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
So, and he just announced a couple of days when
Stoops uh I got fired, that he was gonna wait
and not signed. So it sounds like William was quick
to get it that done.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
William got it done all right. Draft Kings you go
to DraftKings dot com. Promo code is uh is KSR.
You can bet five win two hundred dollars. The sec
ACC Challenge starts tonight. We'll save North Carolina prediction for
the pregame show. I'm gonna give you the other big games.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Florida.

Speaker 6 (36:22):
Is that Duke who you got. I'm gonna take Duke
cam Boozer is the real deal, and that'll be a
tough environment.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Ryan, I'm taking Duke. I'm gonna take Duke Shannon Duke.
All right, let's see Tennessee is at Syracuse, Tennessee.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
Tennessee. I don't like how good Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Tennessee is really good.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
I'll say that out loud. Yeah, there's seven to one
at this point. Let's see, this seems like B level
games except for US in Florida Duke. A lot of
good teams play tomorrow, so I won't go through the
rest of them. Little col versus Louisville Again, that's a
big win, and you got at Auburn in C state,
but you got cal Louisville tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
Van dy Smu for shore cheering for in cal Louisville.
There's no cheering for anything there. Cheer for one. I'm
making you. Can I tell you a little secret. What's
on Thanksgiving? Arkansas? Duke?

Speaker 5 (37:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (37:17):
I was cheering for Duke.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Really.

Speaker 6 (37:20):
My mom was screaming at the TV for Duke.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
For Duke.

Speaker 14 (37:25):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
It was just something about I don't know. I mean,
I wasn't like I didn't really. I kind of was like,
I think I'd rather Duke win.

Speaker 6 (37:35):
Wow, Karen, would you have cheered for Arkansas?

Speaker 7 (37:37):
No?

Speaker 2 (37:37):
I was cheering for Duke.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Okay, then why are you wowing? It sounds like you agree.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
I was wowing that. Karen was so verbal about it.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
I think it was just because it was Thanksgiving and
she just got really into it.

Speaker 11 (37:49):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
I guess I'm not gonna say I'm cheering for the
one that doesn't exist, but honestly, Louisville winning would help us.
It'd be another loss for Arkansas makes them look better.
I don't want them to look better, but for the resume,
I guess that would help.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
Yeah, af I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven.
I'm gonna just go through a couple of these. Try
to make it short, folks, so I can get to
his Mee and Pete these people as possible. Jim, go ahead, Jim, Hey,
you brought.

Speaker 11 (38:11):
Up Charlie Strong.

Speaker 9 (38:12):
I was wondering.

Speaker 11 (38:13):
You know, Brad White is something else when we're healthy
and uh, I don't know how much Stoops had involved
in his defense, but I wouldn't be I wouldn't be
hurting my feelings to keep him around.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah, I would be surprised if they did that.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
But he does love Lexington. I appreciate the call. I
thought he was gonna take the job with some raw.
He has not yet. That doesn't mean he won't. We'll
see Rick.

Speaker 15 (38:34):
Go ahead, Rick, Yeah, sir, A great show today. Thank
you to real Mom and being the fire alarm. I
just the spine that the coach is coming in on fire. Buddy,
I like it.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
I'll take it.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
Greg.

Speaker 14 (38:50):
Go ahead, Greg, Hey, great show today, by the way,
probably the best one I've heard a long time. Any
thing I wanted to just mentioned you guys can talk
about it is expectations, fan expectations. In the past, I
think our fan expectations did not equal the team's expectations.
And you always saw people like with Stoop's always done
so much for us in the past, and we're going
to get this stupid Bowl. It didn't mean anything. I

(39:12):
think we need to lift our expectations up. We need
an SEC championship with this guy, I think we're going
to get it and hopefully get into the Bowl. So
you guys can talk about expectations.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
All it's a great it's a great Let us say
that conversation for tomorrow or I mean when we have
the game tonight too, But I think that's a good
conversation to have. We'll talk about Tim go ahead, Tim, so.

Speaker 16 (39:31):
With Shannon Dawnson coming back with Southern myths and we
not changing our signals offensively, do you think there's any
chance that Vince was able to read through our signals,
and no pilot's part of the reason we got demolished.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
I love Vince, but I will say no, James, Go ahead, James, James,
mister Jones, Yes.

Speaker 7 (39:52):
Hey there, the person of our heard the news. I
was like, what's Willie colli Stein know about football? But
