the manager himself, Dave Roberts, David Vasse.

We'll check in and go one on one with Justin Dean,
the newest Dodger outfielder.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
We got your Dodgers magical moment.
Speaker 8 (01:33):
We'll dive deeper to this pitching matchup with snell Zilla
on the mound. Shortly we'll visit with Sports in LA's
Kirsten Watson, and in just a few minutes we will
head out to the Galvin Motors broadcast with Steven Nelson
and Rick Monday. Well, last night, what a pitching matchup,
two future Hall of Famers, Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer
(01:53):
going toe to toe, and they both pitched pretty well.
Clayton Kershaw six innings, one run, seven hits, four strikeouts.
In the second he gave up an RBI single and
the Dodgers down one to nothing. But then in the
bottom of the fifth inning, Dodgers a little two out
magic show. He Otani a ground rule double then came
(02:14):
up Mookie Bets.
Speaker 9 (02:15):
Mookie Betts to the plate. He's one for two to nine.
Serger out of the stretch. Bets first pitch hi.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
The air, left field, back toward the wall.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
It has gone.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
Mookie Betts flips the scoreboard with a two run bast
a huge fist pump as he hits third base. Hello,
high five for dino E Bowl. Mookie Betts puts the Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (02:43):
In front two to one, two run shot for Mookie,
his twelfth of the year. That's the top tier play
of the game. Brought to my Arco quality, top tier
gas for less. That home run of his first since
July fifth, as the Dodgers took a two to one lead.
The Dodgers so Clayton Kershaw go the six innings, the
one run, the seven hits, the four strikeouts. Max Scherzer
(03:04):
wins six innings, allowed two runs on six hits while.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Striking out five, also walked three.
Speaker 8 (03:10):
The Dodgers held that two to one lead until the
bottom of the seventh when the Dodgers opened up that lead,
and it started with Mookie Bets again.
Speaker 10 (03:19):
Freeling on third Otani on first, two to one.
Speaker 9 (03:22):
Dodgers bottom of the seventh, the one to one Mookie
on the ground left side.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
Stopped by Bishette on the back end.
Speaker 6 (03:27):
He throws falling away to come home and Freeland safe
head first slide Kirk place the tag toward the back legs.
The catcher wants the Blue Jays to challenge.
Speaker 8 (03:41):
After new call, the fields confirmed the runner a safe.
Speaker 10 (03:44):
A pourtan language that stands confirmed.
Speaker 8 (03:48):
Alex freel in a heads up job, scoring from third,
hustling all the way, beats the throw home that gave
the Dodgers a three to one lead. Later in the inning,
after a pitching change, will sth walked with the bases
loaded to bring in a run. Two batters later, Teoscar
Hernandez with a sack fly scoring Mookie Betts. Dodgers scored
(04:08):
three runs at the seventh inning on just one hit.
Took advantage of a couple of walks. In that seventh
Dodgers went up five to one and it was no
looking back after that. The bullpen came in and did
their jobs. Bonda Casperiu Is trying it all were fantastic
last night for the Dodgers, putting up zeros as the
Dodgers beat the Blue Jays five to one. Clayton Kershaw
(04:31):
the victory his sixth of this season, as the Dodgers
pick up a game in the standings with the Padres
losing now sixty seven and forty nine overall, and tonight
they look to do it again against the first place
Toronto Blue Jays.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Blake Snell on the mound.
Speaker 8 (04:45):
First pitch is six ten and with more we head
out to the Gaalpin Motors broadcast booth as we welcome
in Stephen Nelson and Rick Monday.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Guys.
Speaker 9 (04:52):
All right, TC, we are back at Dodgers Stadium. It
is Saturday night here at Blue Heaven, Game two for
the Dodgers against the Blue Jays, Blake Snell against Chris Bassett.
Speaker 10 (05:02):
The Dodgers trying to clinch the series because.
Speaker 9 (05:04):
Last night mo they won the opener, And it really
was a special night to be here to watch Clayton
Kershaw and Max Scherzer duel, and then to see them
after the game have the jersey swap and sort of
pay their respects to each other as future Hall of famers,
as fierce competitors, as former teammates. It was really just
a cool night all around here in La. There was
(05:25):
some juice and electricity.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, and they know one another. That's the other part
that they had been teammates. Sweet Jersey was with the
Dodgers in a brief period of time, so they understand
one another how they kind of operate on top of it.
And it is nice because it was built up with
such a big crescendo. I mean, this matchup, maybe two
guys will be head of the Hall of Fame, both
with three thousand plus strikeouts in their great careers. Both
(05:48):
was over four hundred starts in their careers. On top
of that, the Jersey uniform in the exchange, I think
maybe goes under the radar as far as the importance
because that is such a sign of respect for one another.
And you know, we've seen Clayton Kershaw since since he
was a pup when he first came up. In fact,
I remember the very first game that we saw him pitch,
(06:11):
an era at Holmand Stadium in Vero Beach, and I
remember it not so much from what Clayton Kershaw did
during that ballgame, but in the first inning, there was
a gentleman that was walking out behind the berm at
Holman Stadium and he was watching Kershaw warm up and
he stood there and he watched him during the first inning,
(06:32):
and he looked at it and he saw it, and
then he kind of walked off and got in his
car and went home with Sandy Kofax. And when you
have Kofax stops to watch you because they were very
very close and being able to understand, in particular how
to throw the curveball. But to see Kofax that day
for this young left hander making his first start that
I remember at Holman Stadium in Vero Beach, that was
(06:53):
a sign of, hey, there's something special about that. And
last night was kind of going full circle, and hey,
this is one of the reasons.
Speaker 9 (07:00):
Why Sandy Kofax and Clayton Kershaw generations apart, but they
will be neighbors together their statues here at Dodger Stadium
one day that we can be certain of. We are
not certain what Dodger team we are going to see tonight,
Mo and I say that because they haven't won back
to back games in a minute since they swept the
(07:20):
White Sox here at Dodger Stadium. That's the last time
the Dodgers won back to back games, and they've lost
nine of thirteen here at Dodgers Stadium since then. So
what's objective number one? I guess for the Dodgers going
into Game two?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Do it again? And I said that I'm not trying
to dodge the question. Do it again. And because this
is another dimension now because Mookie Bett's hit a home run,
his first since the fifth of July. But for Betts
saying after the ball games stok it lost season as
far as him individually, But this could be really a
big cornerstone to this ball club because if we look
(07:56):
at Bett's more closely, he has six cents in the
last twelve. The bets and the spark that he really
brings this ball club. The other part, too, is last
night we saw some electricity on this ball club and
that has not been there consistently.
Speaker 9 (08:10):
Electricity and fundamentals we've been hammering on that. They got
up to play the Toronto Blue Jays last night, the
best team in the American League the Jays are, and
the Dodgers took Game one. Now trying to cluch the series.
Blake Snell against Chris Basset will dive into that matchup
and a key from Rick Monday.
Speaker 10 (08:26):
The next time we visit with you, Tim.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 8 (08:30):
There, Nelly has been getting down the first bitch Dodger
fans getting that game to a meal on at Shakey's
Pizza part It sounds good, right, dinner's coming up to
a little Dodgers Baseball, Little Shakey's Pizza Chicken Mojos.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
You can order it right now at Shaky's dot com.
Speaker 8 (08:46):
Coming up here on Dodgers on Deck, you're gonna hear
from the manager, Dave Roberts, David Vassay. We'll check in
throughout the hour. Of course, he'll go one on one
with Justin Dean, the newest Dodger outfielder.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
We got your.
Speaker 8 (08:58):
Otani, Rewind and Kirstens and next. That's all coming up
as we lead you up to Dodgers and Blue Jays
on this hot Saturday night here in Los Angeles.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 8 (09:08):
I'm Tim kase Is, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers
Audio Network.
Speaker 7 (09:14):
This is Morongo Casino Dodgers Hunters game on your home
for La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 8 (09:24):
Dodgers and the Blue Jays on this Saturday night game
two of the three games said Dodgers winners last night
over the first place Toronto Blue Jays Blake Schnell and
Chris Bassett.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
The pitching matchup tonight. First pitch at six tens. This
is the Otani ree Why the.
Speaker 10 (09:39):
Ball on a strike?
Speaker 1 (09:40):
No score?
Speaker 9 (09:41):
The pitch O Toni blisters the ball to the right
center field gap, hustling over his bar show, he cuts
it off on a backhand and he gets it in
quickly to hold Old Tony to.
Speaker 10 (09:50):
A leadoff base hit.
Speaker 9 (09:51):
Nice play by bar Show to prevent an extra base hit,
but still a leadoff hit.
Speaker 10 (09:55):
For Old Tony. Now the two to two pitch, Otani
to a right field.
Speaker 9 (10:00):
Old hit pretty well running after it, it is down
off the warning track and it hops over the fence.
You know I've had a ground rule double for sure,
Hey Old Tani.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Three for five last night, goes show.
Speaker 8 (10:13):
Hey Otani with that ground rule double, his sixteenth double
of this season off Max Scherzer. As the Dodgers go
on and beat the Blue Jays last night five to one.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
This is Kirston's Corner with Kirston Watson.
Speaker 8 (10:27):
Hey, Kirston, adjoys us from the stadium on the Saturday.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Brought to you by Cars for Kids. Ready to donate
that little car?
Speaker 8 (10:32):
Call eight seven to seven cars for kids right now,
friendly agents standing by to take your donation. That's cars
with the Kay to donate your car today. Kirsten Mookie Betts.
Do we think maybe he's turned to corner because starting
to heat up a little bit here along with the weather.
Speaker 11 (10:49):
You know, last night for the first night, Mookie said,
something starting to click. It's starting to all come together.
So to me, that means something big is happening because
especially have someone like Mookie Bets, who as many people
are when we you know, as quote unquote perfectionists, sometimes
you can be a little bit hard on ourselves, and
so he is someone So when you're starting to hear
(11:10):
kind of that the positivity things working out, that's usually
when things really start to turn for the better. So
for Mookie, he was just saying the biggest difference for him, Yes,
there's been a few mechanical things he's been working on,
but right now he's just kind of getting his confidence
back and sometimes that's all you need. And so we're seeing,
of course the results we saw the two run home
(11:31):
roun yesterday.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
I have mixtures or that was huge for the.
Speaker 11 (11:34):
Team in the moment in the game and for Mookie bets.
You saw all of the guys in the dugout losing
their mind. So when you have things like that, even
Dave Roberts was saying today, like there is something that
he is seeing in him that is truly starting to
get him back to the guy that we're so accustomed
to seeing. And he's also removing the repressure of just like, okay,
(11:54):
look the numbers this year.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Let's just call it a wash.
Speaker 11 (11:57):
That's fine, we can't fix We're not a point where
he can, you know, really boost the average with considering
we have less than fifty games left in the regular season.
So now it's just a matter of how can he
just help support this team every day, show up, do
his job, get something going offensively so that when it
comes to October he's there to help provide. And of course,
(12:18):
what he wants to do he wants to win. He
told us he wants a ring on every single finger,
and you know what, he hopefully, I hope he achieves that.
So it's one of those things where he is starting
to get back to where he wants to be. The
confidence is building and we're seeing the results, and hey, well,
what could you ask for for a guy like Luki.
Speaker 8 (12:34):
Betts speaking of getting back Roki Susaki feels like we're
gonna get closer and closer here to see him come
back to this Dodgers rotation.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
We sure are.
Speaker 11 (12:44):
So yesterday we saw him take part in a live
VP or simulated game, excuse me, and so he was
able to get through three innings of work. And Dave
was saying yesterday that, you know, afterwards, he was going
to talk to the training staff. He's going to talk
to Mark Pryor to figure out what the next step
is going to be, if that's another sim game or
in which they can control the environment, or if it
makes sense for him to go out on rehab assignment.
(13:05):
And Dave said today that the next step is in
fact going to be that rehab assignment. He should be
pitching on Thursday this upcoming week, so that is a
huge thing. Now it's likely only going to be like
three innings because that's where he's built up to right now,
and of course with starting pitching, you've got to get
them up to five innings, and so that's going to
be the focus is the build up. But it's also
(13:27):
going to be allowing him time to kind of work
through some things mechanically executing his pitches, being just intentional
and being aggressive with his pitches. And so the biggest
thing is, of course, you got to get big league
hitters out, and so as long as he can kind
of continue with that progression, and he has said that
he feels one hundred percent healthy, but he is still
kind of working through a few things mechanically. But if
(13:49):
he can get to a really good spot realistically, we
could probably be seeing him end of the month, early
next early September, because they do want to get him
ready so that he could be at a position to
help contribute for a postseason run.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
This team getting healthier and healthier at the perfect time. Curisten,
we appreciate well.
Speaker 8 (14:06):
Check in with you after the game is still to
come here, I'm wronggo Casino. Dodgers on Deck will dive
deeper into tonight's pitching matchup. David Vass goes one on
one with the newest Dodger Justin Dean.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
But I'm next. We'll get you an.
Speaker 8 (14:17):
Injury report and we'll hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts.
It's a Dodgers and Blue Jays on this Saturday night.
First pitch from Dodgers Staium at six ten. I'm Tim
kats is the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
This is Marongo Casino Dodgers on.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Deck on your home for the Blue.
Speaker 7 (14:38):
All season long Law.
Speaker 8 (14:41):
It's the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays to first
place team, squaring off possible World Series matchup. We'll find
out Blake Snell Chris Pass at the pitching matchup tonight.
Dodgers took the series opener last night. First pitch tonight,
six ten. This it's the LA Dodgers Injury presented by
U C l A Healthy official medical partner of the
(15:03):
Los Angeles Dodgers. Kirby Yates getting closer, Sanders Scott getting closer,
Tony Gonsolin progressing. Rookie Sasaki through a SIM game yesterday
at Dodger Stadium. Next step for him sounds like it's
going to be a minor league rehab storet More on
that coming up. Michael Kopek also trending in the right direction,
Dodgers getting healthy post trade deadline, and that is certainly
(15:24):
a good thing for this Dodgers team. All right, let's
have back out to Dodger stadium and get the pregame
thoughts of the Dodgers skipper.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Any questions for da Dave?
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Can you just describe Dave? Can you talk about the pressure.
Speaker 7 (15:36):
In the dugouts with Dave Roberts.
Speaker 12 (15:39):
I think that you know, Blake outside the couple there
there were you know, a couple of homers that he
gave up. I feel it was a ballpark driven. I
thought he threw the baseball well, the command, the change up,
the spin was a lot better actually than I had expected.
So I think for us, you know, just continue to
build on that. Obviously, and had a good one last night.
(16:01):
There was a lot of energy in the ballpark. And
I know Blake's been looking forward to making you know,
kind of remaking his debut at Dodger Stadium, you know,
after being on the I l so he's excited.
Speaker 13 (16:15):
Expert hasn't starting to be of.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
The how are you see just sort of the impact
of the stays being healthy right.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Now, we're we're on the come. I think that.
Speaker 12 (16:29):
On the starting pitching side, I love where we're at.
On the the bullpen side, I think that the floor
has certainly been raised with the guys that we have
now and knowing that Kirby Kopek, Tanner.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Scott are on the mend.
Speaker 12 (16:50):
There's going to be a you know, a live session
next week, there's going to be a couple more bullpens
and then they're going to go out. So I think
on the pitching side, I feel really comfortable on the
run prevention.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
On the hitting side, I.
Speaker 12 (17:03):
Think last night was a good sign as far as
kind of you know, the way Mookie swung the bad
and you know, trying to get Tommy back, hay Song back.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
But I think that we're in a good spot too. Overall.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
It's a great pitching room social stuff for in the
season of Prussians.
Speaker 14 (17:24):
When he gets run.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
First pression, starting to ideally help Ship to kind of
guard with him trying to pitch to the contract as
supposed to just hitching well, that was pressure.
Speaker 12 (17:36):
Yeah, I think for me is that whole first impression
narrative is over. He needs to pitch well. He's healthy,
we've got two months of a season. He's very talented,
and he's here to help us win a World Series.
(17:57):
So you know, all he cares about. All I care
about is him pitch well. And uh, I don't care
about the contract. I care about winning, so you know,
now it's time to just kind of win baseball games.
Speaker 8 (18:07):
All right, there's a manager, Dave Roberts. Not hold him back.
The time is now for Blake Snell. He's healthy, they
need him. Let's go and he gets to start tonight.
When we continue here on Marago Casino Dodgers on Deck,
we'll check in with David Vaz says. We are leaning
you up to first pitch from the Ravine Dodgers and
Blue Jays. I'm Tim Kates, is the world champion Los
Angeles Dodgers Audio Network.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
As we were saying yes, is Marongo Casino Dodgers on
Deck on the official home of La Dodgers Baseball.
Speaker 8 (18:39):
Mango Casino Dodgers on Deck continues as we lead you
up to the first pitch on this Saturday and night. It's
the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays, Morongo Casino Resort
and Spa, a grand Slam for good times. Blake Snell
on the mound, first pitch coming up at six.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
Ten, joining Tim Cakes on Dodgers on Deck.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
I accept everybody for who they are.
Speaker 7 (19:00):
This is Dodger insider David Basse.
Speaker 8 (19:03):
All right, dv before we get into this game tonight.
Earlier today, I was listening driving around here in southern
California and five seven E LA Sports.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
You and Miggy Rowe hanging out sound like a great time.
Speaker 13 (19:15):
Yeah, it was a really fun time in Huntington Park.
Miguel Rojas there for two hours. He took photos with
fans for an hour. Fans brought him gifts, they were
bringing their kids. There was really a cool thing to see.
And he jumped on the show for a half hour
this morning and we talked about the Dodgers offense, and
I believe it's refreshing to hear that Miguel Rojas feels
(19:40):
the same way as we all do that the Dodgers
need to cut down on the strikeouts and have more
team at bats.
Speaker 15 (19:47):
In the last couple of months, I feel like we
have a couple of guys trying to find himself in
the lineup in instead of like just playing baseball and
trying to contribute with what we need to do.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
So and we all being a part of that.
Speaker 15 (20:00):
You know, it's not it's not just one guy, but
a couple a couple guys in the line up at
the same time battling and struggling through things, and I
know this is not gonna happen when the games kind
of matter and kind of mian the most for them,
because I know we all professionals here and nobody cares about,
you know, what kind of numbers you're putting in the season.
(20:22):
The most important thing is is winning at.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
The end of the year.
Speaker 15 (20:25):
So I know we get into a spot right here
where everybody, especially on the defensive party, is gonna kind
of glue together. And I mean it looks it looks
really good the last couple of weeks where where we
can't put the offense together. Everybody's kind of pulling a
direct and.
Speaker 13 (20:44):
Look, that's one of the veterans on the team saying that.
So the Dodgers are aware, and it wouldn't be surprising
tim the first game of every series there's a big
hitters meeting. It wouldn't be surprising to me that that
type of conversation was vocalized in the hitter meeting yesterday,
because we saw a lot of that last night in
the five to one win, and we saw Mookie Betts
(21:06):
have his best offensive game and after the game saying,
you know what, my numbers are not going to look
great no matter what, no matter how well I play.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
So it's about trying to help the team win.
Speaker 8 (21:17):
David is brought to you by the twenty twenty five
for one fifty from California's best selling truck Ran. It's
time to see Ford in a new light. Ford for
America from America, Show Hey Otani, Yoshi Yamamoto, what's the
plan moving forward here, David? And what have you learned
really about Otani in this last season this last year?
Speaker 13 (21:33):
Well, first and foremost, the Dodgers are going to give
Yamamoto an extra day arrest last Now we'll pitch tomorrow.
Yamamoto will pitch the first game of the series in Anaheim,
and show Hey Otani, We'll be pitching against his former
team at Angel Stadium on Wednesday night.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
That should be electric as well.
Speaker 13 (21:54):
And as far as Otani goes, look, I'm around him
a lot more than others, but he still is very guarded.
But I will tell you this, over the course of
the last year, I've gotten to see him open his
personality up a little bit more to me, and I
would say the biggest thing that stands out is his
great sense of humor. He has a wonderful sense of humor,
(22:18):
my type of sense of humor. Really knows how to
be sarcastic at times, but really a great teammates. So
that's what I've learned about him over the course of
the last year.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Very cool. All right, DV able check back in with
you in just a little bit. Coming up.
Speaker 13 (22:31):
You'll forget what today is, Snell Zille's still a Saturday.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
Be ready, Yeah, not forget. We are all fired up
for that, DV. We'll check back in just a couple
of minutes. We'll dive deeper into this pitching matchup coming
up in less than thirty minutes.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
But up next You're Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
Magical moment, Yeah, leading you up to Dodgers and Blue Jays,
two first place team squaring off.

Joined By David, Basseying Here's La dodgers broadcaster And World
series Champion Dodger Rick.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Monday rick a pretty good game last.
Speaker 13 (25:57):
NIGHT a lot of times games like last night don't
live up to the, hype but it certainly.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
DID i thought that was a wonderful stage was set
last night between two guys that when their career is
over five years.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Later at the beginning of speech At, COOPERSTOWN.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
I thought it was just a terrific, Billboard and isn't
it nice to have the billboard lived up To because
both guys pitched very. Well it was a very good ball,
game obviously a little bit better for The dodgers WINNING
i by a score five to. One but when you
Get schurzer And kershaw that they get together and especially
you start to look at. It, Okay scherzer was the
(26:33):
nineteenth pitcher to ever have three thousand strikeouts in his.
Career who was number Twenty it Was Clayton. Kersham so
it goes back and forth and back and. FORTH i
thought it was wonderful drama last night and it built
up into crescendo really.
Speaker 13 (26:47):
And Max schurzer was the one that blinked last in
last night's game thanks To mookie bats WHO i feel
like it's not an. Overstatement rick maybe his best game
of the season last.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Night, yeah no. Question AND i think the important of
when he got the base. Hints you look At Mookie
benz now he has six hits in the last twelve at.
BATS i know he was, saying, look this is a lost,
season BUT i think if you look now the last
number of, games this is the beginning For Mookie benz
to really provide what he has been. Lacking AND i
(27:18):
know he's been tearing at him because it does guys
have a lot of. Pride he doesn't show it because
he does not want to tip everybody. OFF i think
he's very internal on that end of. It but he
has a great deal of, pride AND i know he's
had to be digging at, him so it's really nice
to come. Around BUT i think he is really maybe
one of the main keys to This dodger ball club
(27:40):
really putting on a. Sprint, okay to start today three
games in front Of San, diego they were defeated last
night down In San diego by The Boston Red. Sox
but This dodger ball, CLUB i think hopefully this is
a sign of very good things to, come not only
For Mooky, betz BUT i think top to bottom with
His dodger ball.
Speaker 13 (27:59):
Club do you feel like Ta Oscar hernandez is looking
healthier than he has in a couple of.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Months, YEAH i think overall, Yes but there's still the
question right handed, pitching and we'll see it into Night's
bowl game With Chris bassett going For. Toronto it is
still The kryptnite has been the sliders away and the
words gotten. Around everybody knows. That and the question is
(28:25):
is Ti oscar going to be disciplined enough now now
that he is healthy and able to do some things
to be able to lay off of that pitch and
demand AND i use that word demand because that's sometimes
that's a feeling that you have to have and to
go to home. PLATE i demand you to throw a
pitch that is worthy of me to swing at.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
It and that's something that he did all of last.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Year, absolutely he owned at. Bats right, now he's been
searching for advance because he's he's been banged, up no.
Speaker 13 (28:54):
Doubt hopefully he And Mookie bets can take off because
The dodgers.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
Need both of.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
THEM i feel like we buried the lead. Already, Rick i'm.
Sorry you know what it?

Speaker 13 (31:24):
Me what was it like for, you even late in
the game to be able to catch the final out
and make your major league dreams come?
Speaker 5 (31:31):
True, yeah a, dream a dream that.
Speaker 14 (31:34):
Of course took a, while but as it, was as
it was pulling, up it didn't feel like it took long.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
Enough you. Know everything happened so.
Speaker 14 (31:40):
Fast WHEN i was checking into the game And i'm
Seeing i'm seeing the bright, Lights i'm seeing the fans
in the, stands and it's just, like, wow this is
his game, time you. Know and ONCE i checked, IN
i just wanted to do my job and get a
win with the. Team so we did, that and that's
ALL i asked for for the debut as a.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Win when you were called.
Speaker 13 (31:55):
Up was it a surprise or did you feel like
it was getting?
Speaker 14 (31:59):
Closer i've BEEN i KNEW i was playing well AND
i just wanted to keep playing well AND i let
the chips fallow it where they made from.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
That SO i felt.
Speaker 14 (32:06):
Close BUT i felt close before and and and nothing's.
Happened so it's just it. Was it definitely felt like
a shot when it did come. Around So i'm still
shocked right.
Speaker 13 (32:14):
Now you were a non ronster invite to spring training
when The dodgers invited you to. CAMP i, mean obviously
you're trying to show, out but you see the guys around.
You did you believe this opportunity would come with The? Dodgers,
yes and, no there's of COURSE i saw the.
Speaker 14 (32:31):
CHANCE i, saw you, know the opportunity and what you,
know the team might have. Needed and as far as
my skill, set it felt like it. Matched but you,
know you never know with with with this game and this,
business it's it's a tough, game it's a tough place
to make it as far as the, show we're all
this with any. Team SO i was just happy for
the opportunity and as long as you have a chance,
to you, know to get on the field and showcase
what you. Got then you got a chance to make.
Speaker 13 (32:52):
It i've heard from other players that have taken the
field At Dodgers stadium and you see that third deck
sometimes can get. Overwhelming did you allow yourself to take
it in or you just had to stay lazer focused
in the ninth?
Speaker 14 (33:06):
Inning oh, YEAH i was taking it in for, sure
just like you, said that other deck and it's full of,
fans it's full of, white jersey's full of.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
Blue it was really cool to see.
Speaker 14 (33:16):
It just try to remind myself that it's still the same,
game that we're still, playing the same game of baseball
that we've been. Playing it's just a lot of people,
Watching so it was really.
Speaker 13 (33:23):
Cool was this the dream that you always had to
Play Major League baseball or did you have interests in other?
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Sports this was.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
The dream for. Sure it's PROBABLY i was kind of
set up to play.
Speaker 14 (33:35):
BASEBALL i wasn't really the tallest for, basketball wasn't really
the biggest for, Football SO i kind of understood that
from an early. Age and this is where really WHAT
i wanted to, do really WHAT i wanted to make
it in and yesterday was everything and more THAN i.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Expected so my mind's.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Blown Justin dean is our.
Speaker 13 (33:50):

the ninth inning for The. DODGERS i just saw you

Mookie Bets, muki one of the greatest outfielders in baseball.
History did he give you tips on how to navigate out?
There what Was mookie trying to tell?
Speaker 14 (34:08):
You just just you, know trying to keep it normal for,
me and he was kind of letting me, know you
know that things are going good and just keep doing
your thing and and enjoy your day and stuff like.
That And dino is just helping me out with you,
know our outfield stuff and and how we're, gonna you,
know approach our work and how we're gonna go about
building our. Day so we're just just getting accustom and
everybody's helping, me helping me out and give me poorness and.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
Everything it's a.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Lot how fast are things right?
Speaker 5 (34:29):
Now super? Fast right, now super, Fast but we're adjusting
on the. Fly we work.
Speaker 13 (34:33):
In does it help that you're not starting and you
have a chance to ease into a game like last
night and ease into a game like.
Speaker 5 (34:40):

Speaker 14 (34:42):

they want me to to come in on a, Whim

will be thrown By Blake, snell left. Handed started going
against the, Righty Chris bassett for The Toronto Blue, jays
give me your key or keys for A dodger victory to.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
NIGHT i think For snell doing is ankle what we
have seen him in the last dowting in two is,
it you, know control the striketh. Zones and that's kind
of the STORY i think with The dodger hitters Against Chris.
Bassett AND i say that because When bassett is ahead
in the county's a different pitcher as most guys. Are But,
bassett first of, all on the, road has a very
HIGH era almost six and a. Half he also has
(40:16):
a very high banning average against him at three. Hundred
but especially when he falls behind in the count he's
given up a four to thirteen batting average against. Him
Only Sonny gray with The Saint Louis cardinals is allowed
to higher bantning. Average so my point, being don't chase
pitches out of the striketh, zone especially early in.
Speaker 9 (40:34):
Counts as we get it back to, You, tim we
would like to see The Blue jays Chase Blake. Snell
in terms of his. Pitches we saw him generate nearly
twenty whiffs nineteen to be more, specific against The Tampa
rays in his last. Start though he did lose that,
