Joining us this hour because yesterday was the shorter show
with Steve Hartman. James Worthy is gonna come on, James Worthy,
our weekly basketball guest.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
This is this is excellent interview for the season.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Well, last week when we talked about the Lakers with
James Worthy, things were.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Better, right, Oh, they were gonna go to the NBA Champe.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Now it's been one week and it's all falling to pieces.
It's all, it's all over. It's terrible.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I mean, Luke is over in Europe getting some kind
of treatment. His blood spun.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Austin Reeves is heard. Yeah, it's a terrible turn of
events for the Lakers. And and Bill Plashki wrote an
article saying they should fold up the tech now.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Look at us. Stay there, don't come home, don't stay there.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
So James Worthy will join us in the three o'clock
hour to discuss that. We have Kates's Corner, which says here,
see that's different than a Do we have an intro
for that? No intro for that, but we might would
just call it something.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
And we have a baseball guest on yes Yonder Alonso
from the MLB Network and Apple TV. He'll be on
the call tomorrow for the Angels and Rents on Apple TV.
But we can ask him some big picture BS bowl Yeah,
money through finding. He is at the MLB Network working
in New Jersey. So he's a great guy, great baseball
mine and somebody to look forward to talking to.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Never he knows how to treat a woman, of course
he does love him. Yes, Hey, I like Fernando. He's
a nice guy and he knows how to treat the woman.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
What by taking her to the toilet to Mecca anyway,
I'm back for the desert. How's the desert pee?

Speaker 6 (05:41):
All right?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
You know it's.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Coachella week, that's right, so service is not. We tried
to order PF Changs last night. I don't know why.
The people that were over at the house ordered wanted
PF Changs and we ordered the PF Changs and it
took like two hours to show up on the Uber
Eats and it was tasteless and gross.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Go get it.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
I I wasn't in charge. Somebody else made the decision.
But PF Changs in the desert really let us down.
And the one at the River in Rancho Mirage, and
I do have to say it's been a long time
since the old PF Chang's at the Beverly Center with
Ll cool J eating lettuce wraps. You know, maybe the
quality of the food there has dropped off some really,

(06:23):
but it was tasteless and awful. And I felt like
I drank a whole giant glass of Morton salt mixed
with water after I ate it.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
So that was kind of rough.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
And then yesterday I spent the day at the Lakinta
resort place. Oh, yeah, which is very nice. We went
on vacation last summer. Yeah, and I went to the
quote unquote main pool, and you know, that's an old hotel.
It's like over one hundred years old. And you go
over to the quote unquote main pool and you think
about like how people saw that pool in nineteen thirty.

Speaker 7 (06:52):
Like, oh my god, my god, I saw this pool
there A yeah, I look that pool. I'll take a
dime in the yeah, pull that kind of just like
it's like that pool sucks. Like I've seen bigger pools
at palas Verne's Estates. My god, bred of godbol swim
on this pool. It was one of the biggest pools
in the country.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Huh, you know, so we but we had a nice
time and I met a listener outside of the hotel
who took a picture and said that he was a
big listener. And not only that, but he was such
a big listener that he recognized my friend Robbie as
Robbie Bogdanovich, the air to the Star Kiss Team of Fortune.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yes, yes he did. How did Robbie feel about that?
He loved it.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
He felt he was the sunshined on him for the
rest for the rest of the day, and even better
for Robbie. We made it back to my condo, which
he had never seen, and my family condo, I should say,
and we had a half bottle of Chevis Regal great
and form right there. Usually we don't have the high
end Scotch, but happy for him. There We had the
two questions for you. It's food related. Surprisingly, Uh did

(07:55):
you guys eat when you were at the lake at
the resort? I had a sad well I should have
eaten there, yes, because what ended up happening was a
terrible thing. And I still feel filled with that orange
chicken of death.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
And uh, the tasteless soup I got with mushrooms. Maybe
it wasn't even a soup. It might have just been
a ponzu sauce, but I ate it like a soup.
It was just it was horrible, and it came late
and everybody was starving. I was playing man in the
mirror like with the famine, like by the time the
food showed up, because that's how hungry. It was, like
an air drop.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It was. It was tough. Second question, what's the name
of that place that's right there at the river area
next to the PFJ Yardhouse. No, but it's got the
closed the pig. Yeah, it's closed. Its closed.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
The barbecue place that Brian Blackmore loved so much with
its cheesy garlic bread close. Brian Blackmore or a program director,
could not single handedly keep was it Babes Barbecue or
something like that. He could not keep that place open.
He tried, but he could not. So anyway, I'm back
from the desert. Welcome back, Happy to be back.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
How about those cars going the opposite direction on the
ten As you were coming out from the coach, there
wasn't much traffic going in. I mean I left at
ten thirty this morning. Did you see the line up
for Coachella this year, by the way, sucks. It's awful.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, one thousand dollars. I'd rather go to Beachlide from
see Duram Duram.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Generic tickets or GA tickets General mission thousand bucks to
get in for.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
That, and it's two weekends at Coachella, double up, doucherie.
That being said, tonight is off night Dodger talk. But
tomorrow night, as you alluded to Kate's, you really have
a special erection emotionally for these Dodger giveaways. I know

(09:41):
you're excited about it. I know the giveaways now. I
heard the other day that they had what is it
four hundred home runs for Mike Trout? Is it four hundred,
three hundred, eight hundred hell a head? Oh that was
Fight Night too, I had and they had a commemorative
bobblehead for Mike Trout. And I think they only gave
away twenty thousand. Way, and there's a lot of Angel
fans twenty five thirty not like they didn't do people right,

(10:05):
and Angel fans were very upset about that.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
I got a couple of texts. The lodge just filled
the brim with all the leftover bobble head.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
No, there are no leftovers. Everybody wanted a trout head, really,
I guess, according to the Angels fans, I mean some
of them, like Mike Trout, I guess. And you juxtaposed
that four hundred home runs by the way, Okay, see
that's a big number. You should have known that as
a Sun's hurt half his correct the guy hosting Dodger
Talk tonight, off night Dodger Talk.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
You should have known that it was four hundred. He
should be at five.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
And when I said eight, you should have said, no,
he doesn't have eight hundred. You should have said that.
You should have corrected me. You're the baseball catcher in
the rite.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Correction il next to Mike Drout, not hr. A lot
of people.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Pretty riled up about this weekend, and not because the
Texas Rangers are coming to town, because that's neither here
nor there. Welcome home, Corey seeing Yeah, okay, whatever, welcome back.
See that's fine. They've won two World Series since the
Dallas Oh so he won one two. Okay, we get it.
But the Texas Rangers are coming to town, but that
pales in comparison and the Dodgers hitting a bunch of

(11:14):
jacks and only having what three losses at this point? Yeah,
ninety three. That pales in comparison. All of it pales
into comparison. Maybe it shouldn't be that way, but this
is how it levels out. In twenty twenty six, what
are the people won promotional giveaways? What'll they line up
four hours in advance and get church jelly legs? Promotional giveaways?

(11:38):
And this weekend might as well be the Coachella of
promotional giveaways at Dodgers Stadium? Am I wrong?

Speaker 6 (11:46):
No?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
You're right? What are the details tomorrow night, Petros? What
are the headlines?

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Dodgers and Rangers first forty oh, verse fifty four thousand
fans wow, in attendance. The Dodger Stadium holds fifty.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Six so two thousand people first, fifty four thousand in attendance.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
That's like, you know, when when the Jews ran through
the Dead Sea, when Moses parted the seas and they're
running through, they running through, and like fifty two thousand
got through and then the last two thousand stragglers and
strugglers swap. Don't let the dead sea close on you tomorrow,
just like that. Brought to you by Synchron it is

(12:33):
show Heyo Tani greatest game, bobblehead.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Whoa number one of two? Yeah, because he pitches, Andy hit.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
He pitches and he hit and that's why it was
the greatest game ever, because of the pitching and the hitting.
And you can't represent both of those with one bobblehead.
You gotta double it up. And that's double opportunity or
the fan and double opportunity for the Dodgers to do
what cash in two.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Parts bobblehead commity Otani's outstanding performance in Game four of
the last year's NLCS against the Brewers. Or he homered
three times and he struck out ten tomorrow night, Number
one of two bobbles.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
I'll let the dead sea close on you, Tribes of Israel.
Brought to you by sang Kron, the official hydration beverage
of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Look for your sang chron
pre impost workout drinks at your local rows.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
How about that?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
So is this bigger than the Yoshi Yamamoto Yoshi super
Mario bablehead that shut down all of Chavez Ravine for
the entire day the other night?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
It feels like everyone is bigger than the last one,
but I don't think it is bigger than the Yoshi, right,
I mean only forty thousand got it.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Well, the o Tani bableheads is the reason although this started,
I mean there never used to be like bablehead Night
was a thing. Maybe Hello Kitty Knight was a big deal, but.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Not Minday Night, by the way, but Monday Night, Hello
Kitty Knight.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Hello.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
But once, once they started doing the show hate Bobblehead,
it knocked things into the next level for the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
And then they have these Easter egg bobbleheads like a
special green wand or a special you know, white one
or a black and white one, like there's different.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
Now there are rumors at here at the station that
there is one show hey Otani bobblehead in the building.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Where is it?

Speaker 6 (14:21):
But that.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I don't have it. I'm not a responsive. You better
go find it because we serously we don't have it
in here. No, it's not in here. I didn't bring
it in. Now we do have one. We have one,
but we're not allowed to keep it.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
We're just supposed to use it to show it on
the Instagram and be like here it is kids, and
then we give it back because we're not worthy enough
to hold it.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
We don't have it.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
It's unintended right now, somebody probably stealing it. Okay, play
efforting and I will run. It's over on the left. No,
it's just right there, and I will go get it.
I think I know where it is.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Maybe can follow you over there down the hall.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
As he leaves them seven the La Sports Main studio,
Petro Sabadekas, high knees down the hall, is making a right.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
He is going by KF five Studios.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Which are our sister station, literally twenty five thirty feet
down the hall from us, right next to the Dodgers
studio with colony and I hang out from one hundred
and sixty two games, forty five of which I do
postgame on getaway days more off nights.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
I think that's where we left it, or it's into
bold Back.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
If it's not one of those two spots, we have
lost the only show Hao Tawny Bobblehead that hasn't even
been given it away yet and they're doing it tomorrow night.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
We got it.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yes, yes, you have saved the day. Petros Papadekas, who
gave you that The Dodgers and we can only what
do we get this. This was a sneak peek bobblehead
that was sent over ahead of time. Now we're not
allowed to give it away. No, it's the one of two,
this the three home runs, and we're not allowed to

(16:02):
keep it. Well, I mean, what happens goes walking away?
I don't know if anybody's really what's supposed to happen
with it? What is what in a perfect world, what
happens with that thing? It goes back into Dave Weese's
office and probably goes to somebody he knows. I don't know.
I don't know. Well, there it is. And how much
is that going for on the open market right now?

Speaker 6 (16:23):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (16:23):
I could double check, but it's probably a couple. Well
maybe it should since you're a radio godess is the
story you wanted to do. I'll effort this then, like
you're doing that. It's got Otani on the side, and
he looks kind of like Batman. Here, turn that off.
Otani kind of looks like Batman. He's kind of looking down.

Speaker 9 (16:40):
It's dark with a blue hue, and it has all
his stats from the game and it has all this stuff,
and Otani's got his mouth slightly open, kind of an
amazement of his own accomplishment with the bubble head.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
So what is it, Kate?

Speaker 4 (16:55):
You can pre order one right now for one hundred
and thirty dollars. Oh that's low on eBay.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
We too low. You got to get that up. We'll
see what it's like. Twenty three dollars pre sale, thirty
pre sale.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Otani's masterpiece one of two, and later in the season
will be two of two, believe, and then there'll be
another Otani one, right.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I think there's four of them total this year. Yeah,
for show hal.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Two, because the Dodgers know where their bread is buttered,
and that is on the backside of one Show Halo Tom.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Now, I have an Otani bobblehead from a couple of
years ago. I think was the first one that had
like the cartoon look to it that everybody wanted. The
first O Tawni Dodger bobblehead from twenty twenty four. Is
that still worth something?

Speaker 8 (17:37):
You know?

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Why are you asking me do they go down?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
You're the one that keeps up with this, You're the
one that procured that, You're the one that's done all
of this.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Why would you even ask me that question? I don't
know the answer. I don't know the answer.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
I thought maybe you would know. I'm sure it's worth
one hundreds of who would know. Matt would know, that
would know that answer. That's rad would We'll be back
with more pet trusted money. James Worthy is gonna join
us next man. I am glad you left that thing, unattendant.
That's like leaving your child in the back of a
hot bosses coming in and out to get the bottle
of your child in the back of a hot car.
That's better than leaving that o tawny bobblehead unattendant. Deeply irresponsible.

(18:13):
Just because you're hosting this show today and then another
hour of radio, you think you can walk around the
station and just be nonchalant, leave stuff around, laying around.
It's my girls, like at your bedroom, my bed. Yeah,
sick of here in my bad. I once heard from
a coach, I'm sick of here in my bad. I'm
sick of here and I'm sorry f you guys, I'm

(18:33):
sorry you're out there. And then he flipped the table
and he walked out. We'll be back with more petros
and money. On seventy LA Sports. It was just a
kickoff return meeting. That's the worst part.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
This is Petros and money to man demand Petro Some
money show af I seventy LA Sports on a Crunchy
a Thursday. No Dodgers Today, Dodger Talk tonight though, Dodgers
back at it tomorrow against the Texas Rangers on Otani
Bobblehead Night, the first of two to celebrate his great

(19:10):
game in the NLCS first pitch at seven ten Clippers

Speaker 4 (19:48):

and vice versa quite quickly. In the modern NBA, He's
a Hall of famer, and he knows all about it.
Multiple championships, a great attitude and a perfect gentleman. Emmy
Award winner on Spectrum Sports that it's James Worthy on

(20:09):
the Petros and Money Show. What's cracking, James?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (20:13):
Oh? Hello?

Speaker 8 (20:14):
Hello? Man?

Speaker 6 (20:15):
Hey, you're right? Things change, boy, Things looking good for
a little while and then boom injuries. But hey, still
gotta play. All gotta play.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
It's got to be tough because things for for weeks
were really headed in the right direction. And I guess
it didn't. I don't know, Maybe I'm wrong. It didn't
feel like their success was as fragile as it ended
up being. Am I Am I wrong to say that?

Speaker 6 (20:44):
No? I think I think you're right.

Speaker 8 (20:46):
I mean, you know, they started to to prove.

Speaker 6 (20:48):
That they could beat some you know, some some decent teams,
you know, beating Denver and Deal what they did with
the Knicks, and you know, going on the road and
having that record. But there's a big difference, you know,
beating five hundred teams and then you know, going up
against the defending champion. So that that first game against them,
the one that both Luca and Austin Reeves were injured

(21:12):
in they ran up against the champions, and you know,
the Lakers have did a good job to get up
to third, but yeah, the injuries just you know, dissolved
any momentum.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
They had with three games to go.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
James, what is JJ Reddick's message to the guys that
aren't hurt and that are out there and Lebron who
is supposed to play tonight against Golden State Because you
got Bill Plashki right in the LA time saying shut
everybody down, Let's look ahead to next year, forget about it.
Whatever postseason run they go on in the playing tournament,
what is JJ Red's message to the team the final
three games before the playing tournament?

Speaker 8 (21:49):
Well, you know, if anything, I think they might be
trying to hang on to you know, hang on to
a false spot. You know, see if they can win
these a couple of games and you know, if they
can keep home court advantage. He's got to keep a
positive attitude with the team. You know, guys like Jake

(22:10):
Moradia ay and gets the chance to prove you know himself,
and you know Lebron coming back. You know, you just
got to hope that these guys can beat the Warriors
and then Phoenix and then trying to have some you know,
some safe faith.

Speaker 6 (22:28):
Uh. They're not gonna get you know, Austin or Are
or or Luca back anytime soon, but they gotta, they gotta,
they gotta try to win with what they have.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
James Worthy.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
We always win with what we have because we have
James Worthy, and the wims or losses don't affect us.
We have to talk about it either way, as does
James Worthy joining us right now on the Petros and
Money Show.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Well, last week when you were on, I think my
radio partner Matt Smith was saying, well, what's going on now, James?
You know they gotta keep Lebron for another year, like
this is gonna this is gonna change everything and all that,
and you said, well, let's wait to see what happens,
and uh and and and something did happen very shortly
after that. How much does that effect do you think

(23:12):
the way this season is ending? How much do you
think that affects not that we know exactly how it's
gonna end, but how much do you think that affects
the future.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Well, you know, it's hard to say, because I think
Lebron was really thinking that hey, this team had come
a long way and and it you know, you could
just get in the in the playoffs and you know,
maybe upset somebody. That's I think that's what he was thinking.
But I think now, you know, I don't know, he's
he's he's playing pretty good. He seems to be happy

(23:44):
with what's going on with the team right now. As
far as the future is, casarn Man, I think he's
just gonna have to wait and figure out, you know,
what's what's what's the nice cause there's so much going
on right now. We all know whether how long this
seeds is gonna last, and so I think he's right
now deliberating and just kind of waiting to see what happens.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
With that being said, James, I'm gonna stay positive with Lebron.
Three games to go and then the postseason. We'll see
what happens in the postseason tournament. But at forty one
and the fact that he hasn't had been used a lot,
and the minutes having been just crazy the last month,
there could be a lot left in the tank here
for Lebron. James at this point of the season, more

(24:24):
so than any other year because of the minutes and
the game restrictions. This could be Lebron having a big
moment here. Could you see him carrying this team for
the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
He's going to have to. He didn't have any choice,
and you know the plan was with Luca and Austin.
He had really settled into like playing off ball, you know,
going in the post, like abusing people, really getting physical.
He's fined in a whole new game where he could
be just as impactful, get triple doubles.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Now.

Speaker 6 (24:57):
I think maybe handling the ball a little bit more,
it's going to put a little bit more wear and
tear on him and he's going to have to make
a lot of decisions with the ball in his hands.
I hope that the Lakers can find somebody maybe, I
don't know if Marcus Swant's available, who can at least
take some of the pressure off him from handling the ball.
But as far as having fuel in the tank, yeah,
he's got something in there. You know, he's got diving

(25:19):
on balls at forty one years old, and I can't
believe the elevation that he's getting. I remember being thirty
three and not able to get that kind of elevation
on any dumb I was almost done and he's still
but you know, you look at how he's kept himself
in shape and his formula for longevity. It's working.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Tuesday Night, a little back and forth verbally between JJ
Reddick and Jared Vanderbilt. Is that maybe just frustration of
everything that's happened and the way the JJ S and
his team kind of fall apart here because of injuries
here in the final weeks.

Speaker 6 (25:52):
I think it's just frustration, you know, I think it happens.
I think when you see that a lot of times,
you know, it's like, oh, what's happening. But in a
lot of cases, that's the way they've been communicating. I mean,
I think JJ is really honest. He doesn't you know,
he doesn't hold back. We've seen it with Luca, We've
seen it with Van Dervelt. He's you know, and I
think it's just something that players are used to. And

(26:13):
I think they probably discussed it the next day or
right after the game. I don't really see anything, you know,
that that's wrong with that. That's just the way they communicate.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
James Worthy is our guest. We're happy to have him on.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
When I mean obviously the Lakers are not in a
great position right now, better than some teams. But when
you guys were the way you were with showtime, and
it was around this time of year kind of headed
into the playoffs, what was the mentality, because you know,
what you've been playing for all year is is right
on your right, on your doorstep, but you still have

(26:49):
to take care of the kind of arbitrary business of
finishing the season with you guys and all of your
great leadership and coaching.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
How did you handle it?

Speaker 6 (27:00):
Well, you know, we usually had clinsed, you know, we
usually have clinched to playoffs, you know, way before you know, April,
we probably haven't had it done. But Ralphs did not
allow us to take any time off. In fact, this
is the time of the year where you know, he
kind of rapped things up and made sure that we

(27:21):
didn't you know, take any pauses, you know, to lapse.
I think we did it one year in eighty six,
nineteen eighty six, we were looking forward to plan the
Celtics after we beat them in nineteen eighty five, and
we overlooked the Houston Rockets and we you know, we

(27:42):
just weren't focused. I don't think we were, you know,
monitoring one another, and we kind of left that with
slide bodies.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
James, I'm curious.

Speaker 6 (27:51):
Go ahead, Yeah, go ahead, No, go ahead, I was.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
I was just gonna say, Jaane's gotten in this conversation
about current NBA and the players people want to see
the most right now that if you can get a
ticket to the game and you want to go see
that player, who would have been and Wimby and the
Spurs seem to be, you know, the trendy thought the
Oklahoma City Thunder because of how explosive they are collectively
and you know how good they are.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
What would James Worthy buy a ticket for in the
NBA right now? Who's who's that guy or that team
that you buy a ticket? I know you're not buy
a ticket. Who would James Worthy pay to go see
in the current NBA?

Speaker 6 (28:26):
Well, you know, I have to say, I'm on the
record radio show, I'm gonna have to see the Lakers.
But I was at the game the other night and
I was sitting on the baseline on the floor, and
I was watching Oklahoma and I was watching Halgrim and
hernes Steine and Green and McCain. They're ten d They

(28:48):
got two starting fives on that team. I think you
mindy to see how they play. They spread the floor,
They know exactly what the next pass is. You could
you should see Shade directing traffic. Know he makes a
pass and he knows where the next pass is going. Uh,
they're physical. They kind of remind me a little bit
of a blend of how the Celtics used to play

(29:10):
physical and then they could run with you as well,
like the Lakers. McCain outstanding Williams. They they are really
deep and uh, they're gonna be deep for a while.
I pay to see them because I like the way
they play. They know how to, you know, create momentum.
They know when they're in trouble, they take a time out,

(29:31):
they don't panic. And uh so yeah, they're they're they're
throwback championship team.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
In my opinion, I'm assuming that Spectrum sent you guys
out there to Crypto the other night before they knew
that the whole team was injured and not going to
play in that game.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
It's gonna be a big night. It was gonna be
a big knight for us. They ended up being a
real tiny knight. They end up being a real tiny moment.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
I was watching, I was I was watching from the
desert and I was watching TV and you and Geeter
were up there doing it looking all good and punk ass.
Billy Mack was just walking around in the background on
the shot with his hands in his pocket.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
His stupid tennis shoes on, looking up at the skiol.

Speaker 6 (30:12):
We were all excited, but then the burbo, the bubble burst,
and it was just another telecast.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
We love you, James, Hey, James, real quick, Michael Cooper
gets a job at cal State LA.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
How excited are you for that?

Speaker 6 (30:26):
So excited? I am so excited for Cooper. I won't
wear a sweatsuit. I'm a U and SEE guy, but
I'll pull for him. He deserves it.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
I mean, you can't wear an eagle sweatsuit. Nobody's gonna know.
One time, one time for Coop Vision three. We love you.
It's a great James Worthy to know.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
There goes James Worthy. You squeeze one more out of him.
Kate's look at you, dude. I just remember you got
to be like a horny little Chad, asked questions like
what we're thinking? Just gathering it up? Yeah, mister Worthy,
one more, Just gobblet a greedy by James swatted me
away at the end of all.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Right, get out of here, shut up.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
Well, things are good at Dodgerland, but the Lakers fell
apart quick. But I heard you have a Laker top
story of the day.

Speaker 8 (31:20):
I do.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
That's a word on the street. There's some changes happening
over at Lakerland. I think they're good. I think they're
real good, the changes in Lakerland. Yes, got it. We'll
be back with some reaction.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
On AM five seventy LA Sports. You're home of the Dodgers,
Petros and Money and off night Dodger Talk. All right
here on AM five seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
And more, Southern California's most listened to sports talk show.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
This is Petros and Money on demand.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
Thanks for listening, everybody, Petro send Money on M five
seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
It's a crunchy group. Thursday, Tim Kates is.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
In all four hours for Matt and then Kates is
gonna do seven o'clock Dodger Talk for the off night
sector and he's gonna do the Farm Report. So we're
looking forward to all that. Even though James Worthy shoot
us away at the last moment, it was nice to

(32:30):
talk to him and have a conversation with big game James.
And we're gonna have Yonder Alonso on a little bit later.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
It's gonna be kind of deflating to do pre imposed
to be the great James Worthy. And you see the
ups and downs of a team all year. All of
a sudden, you're feeling really good about this team and
maybe maybe they're gonna make a run of the postseason.
Maybe they can get to the NBA Championship Finals. We'll
see you, and then all of a sudden, yeah, within
twenty four hours, your season is basically over. All right,

(32:59):
we have some react and this is our reaction moment,
brought to you by your so kill Toyota dealers. We
make it ease to you, by your so called Toyota dealers.
We make it easy.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
The secret text us up Fine, brought to you by the.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Secret text us up Fine, brought to you by your
so called Toyota dealers. We make it easy.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
And uh, instead of do you want to start playing
more talkbacks? Tim, The top of the talkback thing is
a button you push with your podcast in the show.
It looks like a lot of my microphone and you
just speak into it, and a lot of people speak
into it and like think it's Siri or Alexa and
try to get it to change the station or something.

(33:44):
And that's not what it's for, Dodgers, but at leaves
a little message for us, and the station is behind
it trying to push it. And by the station, we
mean like the entire iHeartRadio world. Which is funny because
I sent Brady Quinn a talkback a little while back
about his show that we got on AMPI seventy and
he said, what's that? And I said, it's the talkback thing.

(34:07):
He said, what's that? I said, it's a listener. It's
a button the listeners can push and speak into a microphone.
He says, how long have.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
We had it?

Speaker 4 (34:13):
I said six years? Yes, seven years in a while.
But there's a new push from corporate to and you
like these kates. I could see that you like these well.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
I like the textoso because it's instant react.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
I have some textosos here, but it feels like you
want to play your your talk back.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Let's hear a couple of talkbacks.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
First they're talking and back the PMS talkbacks talkbacks really?

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Oh, I used to call it the glitterism a response.
I got a couple of them to play in the
last day or so. Here here's the.

Speaker 11 (34:44):
First messages for Petros and money. You need to talk
more hockey. Lebron and Luca are out and there is
nothing but time now to talk about hockey more Aki.
If there was a team called the Lacanico Greasy Goats,
you'd be croning about them like a rooster.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
I have a team called the Luconico Greasy Ghosts. A
Lucanico is the Greek sausage cooked with orange rines. How
we used to serve it in my dad's restaurant. It
is delicious. And the Lucanico was also the name of
the first docs and that we owned in my family, Lucanico.
And so that guy, obviously, even though it's a fake

(35:21):
accent he's using that's fake, really sounds pretty.

Speaker 11 (35:26):
And Luca are out and there is nothing but time
now to talk about hockey more Aki. If there was
a team called the Lucanico Greasy Goats, you'd be croning
about them like a rooster.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
No, actually I probably would, but we're not. Look, we're
not much of a hockey show. But I think there's
some hockey and quick hits, is there not?

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Yeah, the Anaheim Ducks are about to emplode here at
the end of the season. Here's another talk about Okay,
petros and money.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Can you pre sell Kate?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
You're Latino? It's el Pato, not el Pato.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
I don't say el Pato. It's elto the great Enchilada sauce.
I see you're selling that.

Speaker 6 (36:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
I mean I've been listening to the Dodger games on
the iHeartRadio app. And you are I mean, yes, Steven
Nelson's a play by play guy, but you you are
like yama va sapporo l pateo.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
You got a lot of stuff. There's like a lot
of things going over there. Huh Yeah. Here's another one.

Speaker 10 (36:25):
Kate'su's corner, what's gana? What's gonna say? NAT's me in
the corner? Latch me in the spront.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Change?

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Is that the intro for?

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Is that the same guy that did the other intro?
I don't know, it sounds very similar. Here's a guy
who did the jingle for the that's a textile. So
here's the other one.

Speaker 10 (37:04):
They're talking and backpim as talkbacks talkbacks.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
I used to call it the glitter as a response. Really,
same guy, play play the new one. That's Kate's in
the corner. That's Kate's in the spot, Kates's corner. What's
to guana? What's to guana?

Speaker 5 (37:30):
Say?

Speaker 2 (37:33):
That's me in the corner? In fun, that's all they
got right now. You can eaven talk back, just.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Pee what kind of fossil goes what kind of white
goes to the desert like a fossil and orders PF chains.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Damn, you're as bad as Fred. Listen.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
It was a long day at the cabana. We went
back to the condo at my grandparents' old condo. We
had a bunch of kids. The kids were hungry. Robbie,
my friend, heard the Warren Zvonne song Werewolves of London,
which makes a reference to a werewolf with the menu
of LeHo Fuchs and he's trying to get a big

(38:20):
play to beef chow main, and that excited Robbie and
he wanted chow main, so they ordered PF changs. It
took an hour and forty minutes to arrive. It was
tasteless and cold and awful. I'm sorry, it wasn't really
my decision. Okay, an hour and forty minutes.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
You could have gone back to the ie, grabbed some
in a different PF changs, and drove back. You're right,
You're right. It's a terrible thing that happened.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
Yonder Alonzo's sister is married to Manny Machado. In case
you didn't know, I did know that our guest in
the five o'clock hour, Yonder Alonzo's sister is married to
Manny Machado. Or wait, he's married to the sister of
Manny Machado. He married Maria Machado or whatever her name

(39:06):
is Manuela Machado. But how are we supposed to ask? Hey, man,
what about to Edmund?

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Like how am I.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Supposed to his boss I was married? How am I
supposed to say? Like, how are we supposed to bring
that up?

Speaker 6 (39:20):
Like?

Speaker 4 (39:21):
The guy's a freaking ten year baseball player and he's
an analyst on the MLB network. How am I supposed
to bring so? And what's Manny like at the Sunda
at the Labor Day party? Like what what am I
supposed to say?

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Yeah, Alonzo's sister, Yani is married to Manny Michelle Yaney.
Why ai anything?

Speaker 4 (39:38):
So him and his wife are Yani and Yonder Alonzo. Yes,
so her name is missus Yani Yonder Alonso. It's now
Yannie Machado.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
No, she's Yani. He married Manny Machado's sister. No, Yonder
Alonzo's sister, Yani is married to Manny Machado.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
So her name before you are marrying Manny Machado was
Yani Alonzo. Oh not Yani Yonder. So wait a minute,
whose sister is married?

Speaker 6 (40:13):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Manny Machado is married to Alonzo's sister.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
Okay, yeah, I'm not gonna ask him about it. No,
I just don't know how I get into it. Does
Yani use a lot of taheen when she makes a paloma?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
What am I supposed to say?

Speaker 6 (40:29):
Pee?

Speaker 4 (40:30):
The Dodgers still play in very Latino Elesion Park? Or
did they move the team to Torrents? Yamamoto Otani Yoshi Sasaki?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Where have all the the Caos Gone?

Speaker 4 (40:51):
That's what he wrote? Where have all the Vicaro's Gone?
Which is I believe a reference to Where have all
the Cowboys Gone? By Paula Cole? Is that right, Ronnie?

Speaker 2 (41:04):
That is correct? Very good? Pull and she goes, Uh,
I will do the dishes while you.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
Go have a beer. Where is my John wine? Where
is my setting song? Where's my happy ending? Where have
all the cowboys? Gold?

Speaker 6 (41:30):
You may.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Goddess so sucks when you pay? Is this what the
Latinos are thinking now? And it's all Japanese guys.

Speaker 12 (41:46):
Come boys, hippo Now, I gotta hear the yp oh pa,
Why don't you say.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
I don't know she rapped?

Speaker 7 (42:01):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (42:01):
I forgot about that that.

Speaker 6 (42:05):
I just heard it.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
That's not it.

Speaker 8 (42:08):
You call me.

Speaker 5 (42:12):
Children?

Speaker 6 (42:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (42:14):
You may.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
Job?

Speaker 12 (42:21):
Where is monery.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
Happy?

Speaker 2 (42:36):
All right, it's gonna take too long, and you ask
for one thing. You asked for the bo your b
a part. No, I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
I am wearing my neute dress tonight, but you didn't
even notice me.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
Hippio y b a god.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
That's how the Latinos feel, dude. The neglective is all
Japanese guys. Where of all the kiddles gool they're making
more money out Japan. Word number song of the day
is coming up. Find a Mexican guy that can pitch

(43:15):

Speaker 6 (43:25):

Speaker 2 (43:25):

Speaker 4 (43:30):
The fictitious Mexican baseball hero named the Chupacabra.

Speaker 2 (43:34):

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
