Speaker 2 (00:06):
This is the Petros and Money Show.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
You are one of the kind, hosted by Petros Papaday
guests left school after sixth grade. Look at him and
the voice of the Bolts Matt money Smith. The answer
is on money. There is nothing you can do. You
know it's coming. This is the Petros and Money Show.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
On the home of your world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Make us your top preset on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
It's often hard to bear the tears that we ourselves
have caused. Tony Huge Petrose some money.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Hey, I'm five seventy LA Sports Live everywhere on the
iHeart Radio app. Another Flex Alert fourth and final contest
against the Arizona diamondbackshot in Phoenix, So first pitch from
the gallpin Ford Broadcast boot six forty pm. Dodgers on
deck at five thirty two to five thirty three and
a half our Petrosen Money Show for a six forty
(01:03):
pm first start. Dodgers have already earned a split in
the series after their big victory last night. Dominant performance
from Shoe Hail Tommy unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
God Jeff, and they benched him today. He emptied the
tank so hard that his colo is hitting the bench today.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
You earned it, Hey, you got a day off. I
like to think I earned it.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
I like to think I earned it. I didn't get it.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
I earned six innings, shut out five of six at
bats on base. I like to think I earned it.
So Dodgers Diamondbacks, and then they will start a series
with the Angels at Dodger Stadium tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Oh Toddy Watts does continue though, because I do believe
there is a chance he could come off the bench today.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
However, is that like a David Vassay, Hey, we're gonna
give you the day off, but you're doing off They
Dodger Talk at seven pm.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah, yeah, if it's top. But Dave knows he has
to do off. By Dodger Taco Tony, my name is
Joe Hale Touney. Oh watch So anyway, before we go
any further, we've been hopeful all week because of this
(02:15):
hopeful music at edge two to thirty schedule which hopeful
music ends too early and starts too early. But we're
doing it all week long. One day is one thing
to do it four days in a row. It's not easy.
It's a real labor. It's a labor of love, as
you be forty likes to say. But still, we should
(02:37):
do some Susie Q at two today just to kind
of switch it up, you know what I'm saying. Oh,
I appreciate that four in a row. You know, four
hopeful music's in a row? Right coma come she.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
With two works Burbank Convention Center, right up the road,
banquet hall.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I think it was the things you just live with
the holiday because a Marriott across from the Airportsberry Airport
there you go.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Yeah, you're gonna be in the Moroccan banquet room. Is uh,
it's it's Morocco banquet room, Stacey. Is there any staging
in there? Well, we pushed together three dining room tables.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So you will be off the floor sticky as one. Two.
Yeah you a two q A two Stacey, Q and two.
We haven't done this in a long time. Nobody does that. No,
so I thought it would be good to do.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Four in a row, four and row. It's tall ass.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, And it's not like it's gonna break the Dodgers
win streak or anything they lost the other night, like
it's not. I don't think it's a risky thing.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Hey, you get a split in Arizona, you feel pretty
damn good about it. Play five hundred on the road,
win your series at home, bang ninety five wins, probably
win in the division.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Nothing wrong with that. Now. You remember that movie Casino
and uh not Joe Peshi and his brother being beaten
to death in a field. Oh god, Oh I think
it was in a cornfield up in the Midwest, but
I'm not sure, although my grandfather did say that he
met that guy. The character. The guy was based on
the real gangster yeah in Las Vegas many years ago.
(04:18):
But at the end of the movie Casino, there's a
very famous shot from Martin Scorsese's movie where Bobby de
Niro is sitting there with the sun with the cool
looking sunglasses on in front of like four hundred TVs
handicap and stuff in Vegas, and it's like, that's how
I think of Matt when we have giveaways on the show,
(04:39):
like sitting in this chair of power and just dictate
like doctor Claw an inspector gadget without the cat oh
get you you gudget, you know, like that, right, and
today is an unbelievable opportunity because not only do we
have giveaways every hour, but there's like a caveat giveaway
(05:00):
two that involves cured meats.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Well, I'm glad you brought that up, Pee, because it
is something that I wanted to address on the air,
so we could litigate it in front of the people
so they can see where our head is. Because we
have Dodger tickets to give away every hour, right, so
two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock hour, and then one
lucky winner is going to get a one hundred dollars
gift card to Gray's Craze in Redondo Beach, place you're
(05:26):
familiar with made to order charcuterie boards. It's graduation season.
People love charcuterie. Not the easiest thing to throw together,
So lean on Gray's Craze to help you out. Premium meats,
cheese is housemade, dips, a whole lot more. You can
order yours today at Grayscraze dot com. It will be
the hit of the party. We promise. But here's my question.
(05:52):
I don't think legally if we say because Rogan and
Rodney have been saying that they're giving away tickets every hour.
What if we want to give away two pair on
the three o'clock hour and none on the two o'clock hour.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Huh wow, Oh here you are. And then once again,
what if, thinking ahead to screw somebody over.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
What if we wanted to give away two pair in
the three o'clock hour, like early and something for the
early people, something for the late folks.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
What do you think? Well, I would like I mean,
since we're just throwing stuff out there, litigating it in
the moment, I would like to say, what if we
could just give away, like maybe something that people don't
really want, like, you know, something from our closet. Do
we have a closet anymore?
Speaker 4 (06:38):
I think it got pretty well cleaned out for our
west A rummage sale.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
We've exhausted everything, haven't we. Yeah. I do have some
shirts to give away at the next the first tour stop.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
So you think we feel the giveaway by giving something
away this hour?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
I mean I'd like to, you know, something for the
early people, which is a mantra, you know, something for
the early people, But I pick up what you're putting down.
You don't want to give anything away in the Rogan
and Rodney hour and because they don't deserve it, and
they truly don't know, They truly.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Don't they they left four hours on the table this
week that we picked up. Well, we had to clean
up the four hours.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
It's not the four hours that they leave. It's what
they do with the time that's fair.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
It's what they did with the eight It's not the
four that you were gifted by us, you know, like
you ended up.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
They he celebrated that military guy who died, you know,
real early, but it's like, what did he look at
what he did in those twenty plus years in the war,
you know, like it's about the you know, Jim Healy
the greatest sports talk radio show ever in the history
of the city of Los Angeles, and I truly believe
that it is the only basis of inspiration I've ever
had to do this job. Is Jim Healy's show growing up,
(07:47):
and it's the only sports show I ever listened to
in my life that I was familiar with throughout my life.
For radio, Jim Heally was like fifteen minutes, you know,
it was it was fifteen minutes. But it's what he
did with the fifteen minutes. Oh, it's not about the
six minutes exactly. Matt's about the Mexican Channel. On the
(08:07):
Mexican Channel upside down. Yeah, I'm sitting here crying the
lone man to the same race of which I belong,
the same species, exactly right. You don't want to do
the I mean, Pele is not the same races. I
don't know. I'm Brazilian. No, you're not. It's the America's.
I spent three days in Brazil, the Americas. Man, I'm
(08:29):
I'm back the speaking of the world. We've had some
World Cup talk all week, you know. We talked about
the h the parking and the ticket prices.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
Forty seven bucks two miles one hundred and fifty three
to one mile three seven three point fifty three seventy five.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
On site, we talked about hating you for loving me
and riding on the metro. Right, that's bucks seventy five, right.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
We've struggled with different pronunciations of POOLI sick, pulisic pulisitch.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Ye, polistic is the American pulis, sich is the crowaz.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I mean, I don't know which one to do that
you decide, I don't know, is it joking? Or Joki
or Yokic. I mean, what are we doing? I think
dealer's choice. I mean when he has a cup. We
talked about the McDonald's cups that are going out and
the squish mollows and the different McDonald's that are available
(09:35):
for the World Cup.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Plastic cups, not glass. They're cups, not glasses.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
People, big forty day stretch everybody's talking about for law
enforcement and the strain on law enforcement. You saw the
fights with the Mexicans on the channel. No, just that
the Rose Bowl into it. No, I mean they weren't
even fighting Australian people. It was Mexican on Mexican crime.
(10:04):
It was like being a super mix and that was
a bad scene. I mean, it's gonna be a real
strain on law enforcement. Uh, that's kind of new topic
for today. But we did discuss the parking, We discussed
the McDonald's deals, we discussed the pronunciation of pulistic. But Matt,
(10:27):
I do have to give you a heavy I told
you so, okay, because how far are we out. It's
not a correction, it's not a corrections and retractions. I
think Matt was just trying to be like Carmen Mackie
Hopeful and our hopeful music at noon Song. But I
knew it wasn't going to happen, and it's not going
(10:50):
to happen for the Olympics either. What's that? How where
did the World Cups start? Two weeks a week? Are
they gonna happen?
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Yeah, we're like a week out. I was actually driving
down the four oh five when there was a massive
police escort for two tour buses that I would assume
was one of the teams that must be training either
in Irvine or wherever they're set up. That was coming
down the four oh five when I was heading home
from the Bolt. So, Matt, so they're all here. Now
(11:19):
there's case. He's got the d know.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
It's one thing to be ignorant, It's one thing to
be ignorant and stupid. You guys, Matt, you're clearly talking
about Team Usay going back to the the Orange area,
the park and Orange wherever they call that.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Park, that's where they're training.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
I said it too, And we are exactly one week
away to day today.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
That even that solidifies my point, That solidifies the point
I want to make, and it's you were wrong? What
was I wrong about? You were wrong. I think you
were trying to be hopeful. Maybe you're just trying to be,
you know, Devil's advocate, because we do a rate show.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
You know, embrace debate guys. I don't really want to
I need one on one side, the one on the other.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
No, I don't want to do that.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Hash it out to the death, take calls.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
They get to pick sides too. The zombie towers, Matt,
The zombie towers are there. They are huge. They are
still looming over our society. Okay, sucking down at nine,
a reminder of our failure as a city. The two
(12:36):
point seven billion dollar La Convention Center expansion that nobody
wanted or needed. Three vacant skyscrapers full of graffiti, full
of I prefer to call it art, full of sin, expression,
(12:57):
full of expression, and full of art, full of drugs
and fentanyl, full of them. You will not find a
more vile hive, full of salvation of human scum then
the three gigantic zombie towers. If they can get on
there to tag it up, you don't think they can
(13:17):
get in there to start a zombie tower society. Well again,
and it's still there. Some people said, oh, don't worry Pee,
they'll put a commercial on there, or they'll put mirrors right,
giant banners, shit, and get it fixed. They're gonna get
it all nice and gussied up by the time the world.
We won't show our ass to Paraguay or Petaway. We
(13:40):
won't show our ass to eat On or the or
the the Swiss when they're here, we're gonna We're gonna
get these zombie towers taken care of. They are not
taken care of. The zombie towers are still there.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
It's a real scar on our society, and it's the
Chinese fault. Those are Chinese own who sold them to
They abandoned the project. Did the Chinese, they owned the property,
they built half the towers, and they pulled out.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
It is a terrible example of the ineptitude of our
leadership in the city of Los Angeles. And somebody who
was trying to be positive in the moment told me
that don't you worry pee, the wheels are in motion.
The zombie towers will not be there for the world
to see.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
I thought mirrors made perfect sense, and it was an
easy fix.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Until the first helicopter accidents.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Every bird in La is dead everyone.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
There's those people that think that they're not birds, aren't
real Right now, they might do a hobo sweep.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Oh, they'll do a hobo sweep right off there, right
off Prairie. If the hobos managed to reoccupy the Prairie
exit off the one to five in their little hobo society,
their hobo hobble. I can promise you Earth movers have
scooped all that up and it will all be gone
by six o'clock or by figure six am on Friday
(15:08):
for the six pm US bot on why.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Every slick ash shot that Fox or FS one puts
up there of the downtown skyline in La like, hey,
we're live at LA Stadium because we can't call it
SOFI because it's a World Cup. We also address that
because FIFA's.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Right, you can't give your sponsorships here to FIFA. They
got their own that you paid billions of dollars for.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
So I hope everybody hears zombie in their minds and
the greatness of Dolores are reardon. That's really something, isn't it.
As the three Zombie Towers, the three Zombie Towers are
still there.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Maybe they just like block all the streets off the
feral Towers. I mean, we have a game Friday.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
We got it.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
We have a game Friday US Paraguay, we have a
New Zealand on Monday, and we have That's it for
this through June seventeenth.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
How just two games at Sofi Stadium.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
So I mean we were like, wow, we better clean
up the city. The World Cup's coming. This is very
much like what I do to you know, with my kids.
They say, hey, you have to do something about this,
and then I come back and nothing has been done. Yeah,
that's what's happening in our city. And the World Cup
is here, Grandma is visiting, and we still have everything
(16:35):
strewn all over the place, poop and needles and graffiti
and unspeakable acts, feral society in the three zombie towers
looming over Crypto.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Yes, Kate, you know, technically the Fox overhead shot doesn't
have to go east of the one ten Freeway into
downtown or even by the coliseum because everything's over at
La Stadium, otherwise known as so Fine. They're just gonna
do the Santa Monic appear.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Exactly straight from the filthiest beach in California. Maybe a
little Malibu shot.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
With the I hope they don't widen out in Santa
Monica or Malibu and get you know, those miles and
miles of the Palisades it exploded.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Probably don't want that either, you know. I think instead
you really focus in on Venice Beach and the beauty
that awaits you when you walk that strand.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Did you see that guy bled out right there on
the right on the strand.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Yeah, you know, let's listen, there's uh there, there's everything
in society there in Venice. But you know you're gonna
see motor homes dumping sewage, raw sewage into the streets
where kids are riding their bikes.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
I mean, if there's a week away, when does the
hobo sweep start?
Speaker 4 (17:42):
My guess would be probably this weekend.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Well you saw how along the hobo sweep took an
Echo Park. Oh it was, but they were pretty embedded. Yeah,
that was that was the civilization. Well what do you
think is happening at the Yeah, exercise classes had underground
irrigation every night. Everybody gathered around for the knife fighting. Yeah,
(18:07):
that was really something. We'll be back. We will talk
to Don McLain about the Great NBA Finals start last night.
We hope that everybody's having a great day and a
great crunching group. Thursday, the world I will be offering
you my way awacome. It's the Petro Somebody Show on
AMPHI seventy l A Sports. Can you take show? How
(18:31):
Toddy sitting tonight? Oh hello with me and said something
earth pase trail.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
For the devil to raise. This is Petro Send money
on to made.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Hush your money in pip SEMLA Sports Live everywhere on
the iHeartRadio app, your home of Dodger Baseball back to
back World Series champs. Take him on the Diamondbacks to
the night at six forty pm. Remember we're giving away
to take its every single hour for the series this weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yeah, but what are you gonna do it? No? No,
why do you? It's too thirty. Oh that's right. You
said you weren't gonna do it to spite Rogan and
Rodney and I sort of agreed, didn't I it's exactly right,
all right, I'm sorry, it's exactly right. It's time for
Don McLean with an inside look at the Dodgers. This
(19:41):
is the Vass Report with David vasse I thought Don McClain,
was it all right? You know what I'm living at
through three point thirty and it's two thirty. David Passe
is our guest. He is the best. I'm looking forward
to Don McClain in the next hour. But Vass is
in the desert with the Dodgers. O. Toddy put on
an All Times show last night. Dave saw it live.
(20:02):
He's probably anxious to come home and see the Angels
versus the Dodgers a great matchup. So let's get to it.
MLB Network, Spectrum Sports Net, Dave Assay at the Real
Underscore dv on X Hi, Dave, Sorry, where it me?
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Don McClain bad, Let's go to Finney's really.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Now, I really regret it, uh, Dave? Last night Ounny, Yeah,
he was phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
It reminded me of when I used to coach Little
League of West Lake.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Yeah, that's been a long time machine. You really knew
how to run that thing.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Don. You showed up, Todd Ze Really you really showed
You really showed Todd Zeal what time it was with
those eight year olds. Believe it? All right?
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Dave?
Speaker 2 (20:51):
All right, Dave, can we can we I'm sorry, all right,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
That's something for you guys. NBA related. Before we get
into Otani and his greatness, something popped up on my
timeline fifteen years ago today, I was at the Lakers
facility in El Segundo putting on the Petros and Money Show.
The newly introduced head coach of the Lakers fifteen years
(21:16):
ago none other than Mike Brown. And here he is
now with a one to zero lead in the NBA
Finals for the New York Knicks.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
I remember that interview. He talked about the kids going
to school out here. I think he mentioned he was
moving to He got a house in Anaheim Hills. It
was very likable, aquarium and a basketball court at the house.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Yeah, that was an element you last as the coach
of the Lakers.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Well, Magic Johnson had him fired after three games of
the regular season because he didn't like the way the
Lakers looked in the preseason. Remember he was disheartened by
the preseason after the Lakers and he lasted all of
like four games into the regular season. Jack Johnson took
to Twitter to basically have him fired.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Okay, now it's all coming back to me.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, you love Magic Johnson. Day'stically, Matt just flipped the
script on you, all right, he did. Let's talk about
Otani and how Brady was and is there a blister issue?
Did I hear the B word? I mean that ruined
our lives with rich Hill.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
I know, I know, Yes, he had a blister, and incredibly,
none of the intrepid beat writers realized it until it
was too late. They never even asked him about it,
which was a little frustrating. But he did have a
blister on the side of his right middle finger, and
he was fiddling with it during the game, and there
(22:45):
were photos online where the Japanese media got some clean
picks of that blister on the side of his right
middle finger. Jose Mota told us last night that he
had a blister issue back in twenty eighteen, and it's
not usually you get blisters like Bridge Hill on curveball's grip,
it rip it the seams, all that. But with Otani,
(23:06):
it seemed like the fastball was what was causing the blister,
which makes sense because if you remember last night, he
had a lot of issues with command of his fastball,
almost hitting Nolan Aeronado in the head his first warm
up throw in the game sailed over will Smith's head.
So it makes sense that he was having some issues
(23:27):
with his right middle finger and the blister because it
is very dry out here in the desert and that
can happen here at Chase Field.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Oh, let's get some hydration on that hand and get
it all right for six days from now dat.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
He needs more cose on his finger, put it in
a tank, Like, what do you do?
Speaker 2 (23:43):
That's exactly right, Dave?
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Was it? Could it have been? I know, Look, the
playoff game was stupid. It's arguably the greatest game we'll
ever see by an individual player. But if we shove
that aside, is this one of the better games you've
ever seen from an individual player? Having a perfect game
through four, getting to base, getting on base five out
of freaking six times, you go to the plate.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Without a doubt. Matt. I mean, what he.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Did last night is is something that we've never witnessed
in our lifetimes and will never witness a player like this,
I believe the rest of our lives. And I feel
like when you see him, you try to judge him
to the standards that he has said for himselves, but
you can't stress enough that what he is doing is incredible.
(24:33):
The Diamondbacks only had two hits last night. They came
on singles in the sixth innings, So he had not
allowed a hit in his last eleven innings going into
that game, into that inning because he had no hit
the Padres or whoever he pitched against at home the
(24:53):
Phillies for six no hit innings, and then he did
not give up a hit in the first five innings
last night, and then he on base five times and
has three hits. Name another player that could do that,
There is nobody. And now his ra through his first
ten starts is the third lowest in baseball history.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Dave, does he have some kind of like whacky new
pitch going or has he always sort of thrown the
whatever of like sixty five mile an hour curveball every
now and then. I don't think it's an epis or
anything like that, but it does. I don't recall that, Like,
what is that thing that he's got going when he's
throwing it like seventy miles an hour.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
No, he's got a great curveball, twelve to six traditional curveball.
He was using that curveball a lot last year when
he didn't feel comfortable with his fastball command, and he
actually was using the curveball a lot in his first
couple of starts, but he started to go away from
it and really go with the fastball, go with his sweeper,
and even mix in his splitter, a new type of splitter.
(25:53):
So yeah, we haven't seen the curveball that often, but
he has a really good one.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
David Bassey is our. I just got a text that
said it could be a new segment. We could take
calls and people could ask don Vass questions Dave Dave.
The All Star Games coming up. Obviously, the Dodgers got
a lot of guys who would be your Dodger All Stars,
And careful how you answer this. They're gonna get pissed
(26:19):
if you leave them out. I know, I know.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Well, I feel like there's three locks, maybe four locks.
I feel like there's four locks for the All Star Game.
Andy Paiz to me should be a lock. And look,
he's not a self promoter. English is not his first language.
He shies away from the camera. So I don't feel
like at this point in time he can win a
(26:43):
popularity contest unless Dodger fans all over the world, from
Japan to El Segundo really really do their clicking for
Andy pie Haz, but he deserves to be one of
the starting outfielders. Also, it's kind of a down year
at third base in the National I think the two
best third basemen are playing in this series, and Max
(27:03):
Munsey has superior numbers to any third basement, including Nolan Aernato.
Plus his defense, we may see Max Munsey be the
first starting third baseman for the Dodgers since nineteen seventy seven.
So that hasn't happened. And of course Otani and Yamamoto
are my other two locks, and I guess the only
question surrounding Otani would be whether or not Dave Roberts
(27:26):
would have him pitch in the All Star Game.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
That's how Rod say off. I'll tell you that with
the blistery probably not right.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
And everything I say in the booth, he's shaking his head. No,
oh for real, Yeah, yeah, never's here, He's ready.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
David Guest Dodger Baseball, Dave, you got oral Herscheiser on
the pregame show. I would imagine you guys are going
to celebrate him as always. Fred attacked him earlier today.
I don't know why.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Fred Rogan attacked orl Hirscheizer.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Somebody texted me that, so I'm taking their word for.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
It, Okay, I don't know why. I mean, I would
say Oral Herscheizer was first class as always when he
was asked about it a million times about Christopher Sanchez
possibly breaking his scoreless inning streak, and I thought he
handled it well last night on the sports Net LA
broadcast as well. So yeah, we'll talk to Oral about
that and everything.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
O Tani back to the All Star Dave. You know,
remember we had Tony Gonsolin as an All Star. Do
you think if he kind of continues, I know he
had a couple hiccups. I think two of them. Could
you see Justin Robleski after what he did to the
Phillies kind of maybe sneak in there.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yeah, he could be one of those guys for sure.
I feel like he's a bubble guy. Freddie Freeman's a
bubble guy, but every team has to be represented, and
Matt Olsen's having an MVP caliber year, so I could
see matt Olsen being the starter at first base. But yeah,
Robleski and Freddie would be my two bubble guys for
the All Star team with.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Tim Naverett breathing down, judging every word out of his
mouth everywhere, making facial expressions for things that he approves
of and disapproves of. David Vasse powering and soldiering through
the interview even though I screwed it up in the beginning,
our guest, and he'll have a earl herscheizer. On the
(29:19):
pregame show Marango Casino Dodgers on Deck with the trade
deadline coming up, Dave Matt's been playing the pingalore over
and over and over again. There is there. Do you
have any bold predictions about the trade deadline? An early
bold prediction or are you now reticent to give it
(29:39):
because Tim Nevertt is sitting there right now with his face.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Well, I am having to overcome a lot of adversity
ever since I jumped on here, that's for sure. But
just passing throughout the name of Riley O'Brien, the Cardinal's
closer has seen on the Dodgers' radar, but that's not
my bold prediction. Buster only continues to insist the Red
Sox are in the market for a right handed power
(30:06):
hitter or right handed bat, and the Padres are not
going anywhere, and Fernando Tattias Junior and the Padres have
not won a lot. He's got a big contract. So
here's my bowl prediction. Fernando Tattos Junior to the Red
Sox either at the trade deadline or before the impending
(30:27):
walkout on December first.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Wow, that's just mine.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
I'm deducing, you know, reading the tea leaves. I feel
like the Padres don't have a lot to give up.
They're trying to replenish their farm system. They need pitching,
the Red Sox half pitching, and we've seen guys like
Fernando Tatteas Junior really thrive at Senway Park. So if
(30:53):
they're looking for a guy and looking to take on
big money, I think Fernando Tattias Junior the Padres maybe
it's come. You know, it's run its course, I'll put
it that way.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
That's gonna get aggregated. Dave Assy is gonna be on
Mlbtrade Rumors dot Com.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
That's just my opinion.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
I don't know anything.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
That's just my bold hot take predictions.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Spilly and nik Kowski, they're going to be all over this.
Dave Tatis the face of the Padres, a place that
gets packed every home game, all those Tatis jerseys, see
you later to Boston for prospects. My god, you're gonna
be on.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Uh get rid of that big contract, that one home
run with all that big money. They could get out
from underneath it and reallocate that money with new ownership.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Man, I mean high heat.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Look at all Red Sox need a big splash. Tatiss
would bring some personality to a dead Senway park.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
I asked for a bold prediction. I didn't ask for
crazy man talking.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
I mean, geez, this is Jenny Kavnar is gonna put
you on on her midday show on MLB Radio, Dave.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Dave means a lot. Thank you, Dave.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Hey, what I pivoted away from that schoob Ol park?
Speaker 4 (32:19):
Yeah you did, Look all right, here you go, here's
the deal. Thank you, Dave.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
Well, thank you guys. David Patist to the Red Sox.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
My god, be we're going to be ground zero for
MLB trade rumors.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
You know how big? Yeah, Daniel Jeremiah's going to return
our call that day that when he sees us all
over the the.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Intentional talk, I think he has you know, he has
become an AI master. I think he has programmed his
phone to alert him if we ever bring up the padres.
So he's probably got that bat signal right now. I
would assume he's crafting ax in the moment of Tim
Kates as we speak.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Words. Hey, Kate's what's the Setisa? Remember'm here? Hey?
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Yeah, Parler doesn't trade for prospects.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Parler trades prospects. All right, No way, Hey, I asked
for a pol prediction. I guess you got it. Uh,
David Vasse, Thank you. Don McLain will be on in
our next hour. More to come as the show continue.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
And.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Southern California's most listened to sports talk show this Money
on demand.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Big thank you to David Vasse joining us from Phoenix.
Fourth and final game of the four game series against
the Diamondbacks tonight, six forty pm.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
First pitch.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
You will have Dodgers on deck at five thirty. Dodgers
already have won two of the three, so guaranteed a
series split and see whether or not they can come
home tonight with these series victory before they start a
weekend series freeway series with the Angels at Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Guaranteed victory there, Yeah, light work, light work, knock over
the lodge like a like a house of cards, like
a group of toothpicks.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Lodges. They've taken the phone off the receptacles. It's just
straight busy signal. Man, you cannot get through.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
You're still not speaking of that. You're still not gonna
give anything away, are you? No? No, I'm gonna give
away two pair of the three o'clock hour. That's not
what the promo says.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
No, you're right, but we'll roll the dice legally, you're.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Like glorious bastards. I'll get an ass chewing for that.
But yeah, you.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Know, we gotta flip somebody a pair of tickets because
they sue and they decide to uh come out. Well,
first of all, we'll get sweet James on their ass
and we'll try this thing out and we'll kill them
with legal fees.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
It'll bankrupt them.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yeah, they'll move into the towers downtown.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Speaking of that, it's time for a text l soll
or two The Secret tex Fine, brought to you by
your so called Toyota dealers.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
We make it easy.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
What's the cal shee prediction and the number of dead
bodies in the zombie towers over fifteen or under? I
say under that there's three towns. Yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
When I was downtown. We walked by it. The wife
and I went to UH to dinner at Hobbyers and
then walked by it. Yeah and uh, and there were
security all over the place. They had like four or
five security guards on every corner.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
So I thought that must be what those security guards
must be The ones doing the graffiti, No, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
They're incredibly talented artists and they got some muscle. So
you're saying under, I'm gonna go under. Yeah, Ny, they
know about it. Yeah, I mean, I don't know about
Kyle Shee. I don't know Prediction Markets.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
I don't know. If it's five per building, then we
got right at fifteen, so it seems like a possible
number one per floor. I'm gonna go with one hundred
and fifty feentanyl, Matt, I mean, you know, peace. Starting
today through the weekend, Long Beach Convention Centers hosting the
United States Conference of Mayors. Your new buddy, t Rex Richardson,
(36:26):
the Mayor of Long Beach, had city employees yesterday sweep
all the hobos at a downtown Long Beach to the
hood of North Wrong Beach. So maybe a great time
to get down to the pike, everybody, and over to
Pine Avenue and walk the streets. Go visit my Cousin's
(36:48):
restaurant and Jesse's restaurant in Long Beach. Zuzu's Pedals have
a great time. Doors wide open. Now t Rex rolled
out the Hobos for the conference. You think Tony Wu's
going to that, Oh, no doubt. It got hot last
night in West Covina got hot because Brian Gutierrez didn't
(37:09):
want the new city manager voted in and he was
drowned out of course by the rest of the council.
Now that's a common point of contention, right. The city manager,
I feel like, has been well, he got the other
one five right, the other one laughed, And now there
was a new one who was an interim city manager,
and Gutierra has tried and tried to break him, even
even set a restraining order to his elderly parents house.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
But this guy keep getting re elected.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Gutierra this, I think this is his one and done. Goo.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
Yeah, I guess that's true. We have not been a
been into West Covina politics for more than a year,
so that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
There was also some real, real conversation last night at
the Huntington Beach City Council about whether or not to
give a booby bar a full liquor license. Well that
changes everything now. Well no, no, no, it's like a bikini bar,
but boobies. He had a beer license and they're like, look,
it's about you know, a half fourth of a mile
from a school. They're like, give him the liquor.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Well, but you get the liquor, and now you got
to get the pasties.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Hb Well I think the boobies were always covered, but
it's like a bikini gotcha. But they did now have
their liquors license. And the guy came in and said, look,
here's a surf liquor here. In the sixties it was
a biker bar. Everybody's like, that settles it, Well, grandfather didn't. God,
I love local pology. Yeah. The whole thing about the
substation electricity thing is bs. I've been working there for
(38:31):
twenty five years and I'm fine. But then you know,
you look at the picture. You know how sometimes a
picture comes with people's text. And a guy looked. I thought,
I was like, God, is that sloth from Goodies Chunk Jug?
Did you know that Salty Adam a got milk today
(38:53):
on Rogan and Rodney about oh about the finals, And
I got a text about it because he got milked
for so significantly long, even though it was only a
two hour show. And here's what the tech said. Did
you know this? Kates? I don't expect did you hear it?
Kate's I was in the prep zone. I hired a
little bit of it. Kate's monitors Amy and all sports
(39:14):
talk radio within the city limits all day basically.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
So MCC's got a great women's soccer show right now.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
I heard it's great six to seven on Fridays. There
you go. Yeah, boy, Salty Adam is getting his teeth
ripped off. He is milkless. He's gonna have to get
an IV after this unbelievable Rogan and Rodney are terrible.
Just keep talking. Three more texts just like that?
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Is there is there a question in there? Keep talking
about Just keep talking.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Yesterday, Matt, we talked about the big steampunk festival in
New z and somebody texted me, why does the steampunk
festival need a theme? Steampunk is the theme. That's fair.
That is fair. But you know when you run the
steampunk festival every year from the steampunk capital of the world.
Got to mix it up. You gotta have something, you know,
(40:16):
you get paid for a reason. You gotta have something
for the people. Oh, Matt, this is about the he
Man thing. You said that.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Krispy Kreme Donuts Tomorrow Donut Day, free donut. They have
the he Man Donuts skeletor he Man and battle Cat,
but Cringer. They decided to go Cringer instead of battle Cat.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yes, wow here man uh this according to the text,
does so says. The movie theaters are also pushing the
he Man merch. Have you seen some of the stuff
that's out there. They have a life size power sword
cup that holds forty four ounces of your favorite beverage.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
It's it reminds me of the yard House, so you
gotta spin it as you drink out of it.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
I'm on the other end of town and t Rex
for sure push the hobos my way. We had some
serious hobo action and encampments put up in the last
two days right behind our house.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Look at that.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
Yeah, you gotta move those. It's not like that. You
can't move the hobos off the board. You gotta move them.
It's like risk. You gotta move them somewhere.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
It's being reallocated. So what you need to do, here's
the power move there? Okay, here here you go. Check
this out, all right? What you want to do? You
just you run your sprinklers there, you know, and you
just angle them a little bit higher. Then you just say, well,
these guys never lived here. I didn't know that, you know.
I just they're on an automatic program.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
My bad. Here's another very insensitive text, Matt. But it's
pointed right in your direction. When they sweep all the
hoboes out, do they use the same broom that they
use at the Apollo? They got moving any kind of
trash of that stage back of the DApp.
Speaker 4 (42:03):
Get him sand Man. Yeah, that's exactly what it is.
They're dressed in clown outfits. There's a musical soundtrack, and
then you start.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Sweeping candles flicker. Interesting time to be alive. I thought
it was like walking dead.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
You just play loud of music and they just listen
to the music and they just follow it like a trance.
So you're just like you can direct them how you
want the music.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
I'm sure we could get tracks on to explain what
they actually do. What you put them waiting, put them anywhere.
We put them into walm Beach. Oh God, everybody's having
a great day on this crutchy Groove. On Thursday, the
(42:46):
show continues a real conversation with Don McLean.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Want to give away some tickets right now? Pete, it's
right at three, give away a pair right now?
Speaker 2 (42:57):
Does that work like this? It sure does? All right?
Speaker 4 (42:59):
Then go eight six six nine, eight seven two five
seventy collars ten?
Speaker 2 (43:04):
Do you ever say, gosh, what a small person? Yes?
Speaker 4 (43:06):
Every day? Eight six six nine eight seven two five
seventy collar ten. You're going to Dodgers Angels, Dodgers Angels
eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy sa.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Grits.
Speaker 5 (43:27):
Jooke's fiddow wine won't help me to all gets
