Speaker 7 (02:04):
I mean literally, you send an email, getting a response,
but you guys and your voices get the mayor to
show up. Same thing happened. Don't hear anything about Apollo,
and all of a sudden you talk about Apollo and
then we get this talk.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
He did he say anything about being there?
Speaker 7 (02:34):
Let's listen again one more time.
Speaker 9 (02:36):
I don't know.
Speaker 10 (02:38):
Petrol money.
Speaker 8 (02:41):
This is Apollo, and I'd like to welcome you to Downy, california'all.
Speaker 6 (02:50):
But nothing in there about showing up.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
No, Well, thank you though. That's but that's good though.
That's good stuff. And we've done a great job. We're
gonna be in Downy tomorrow two to five thirty. We
got prizes and now we got the mayor. I think
Don mcclan's gonna check in. We got a lot of
good things going on down there.
Speaker 5 (03:12):

you doing day?
Speaker 4 (03:28):
You better be headed out to the City's Contract Cities
meeting down out in Indian.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Well, right, I mean, we got the mayor coming for goodness, some.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Extra marital affair, it's right, Look at him.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
He doesn't care he's got a wife at home.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
They do you know if they're sending the head of
parking enforcement from Hawaiian Gardens? Because man does she here?
Speaker 11 (03:50):
For?
Speaker 6 (03:50):
What does she? I'd love to see it. I can't
paint to continue to you howl you like a foul dollars?
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Would I listen between nine and five every weekday for
your chance to win one thousand dollars every hour from
a five seventy LA sports bonus box is brought to
you by Sweet James Accident Attorneys.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Just call Sweet g who calls me it is early
and Sweet James dot com. All right, Matt, uh, let's
do the word of the day. And I said, with
his words the word of the day. I don't forget now.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
The NFL schedule comes out in about an hour, and
Matt Smith, the Voice of the Bolts, is all over
it with Three Things Thursday Eric coming up next, and
there'll be a seasonal segment between Eric Curs, Quick Hits
and all that and Three Things Thursday coming up at
(04:57):
five twenty five. Today's wor day is no hitter or
as the cool people say, a no, no, I.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Got it, I get it.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Congratulations to one of the great sales ladies here at iHeartRadio.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
Jen Perry, a.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Lovely lady in our apologies to her her son. Last Friday,
through a no hitter for the Charleston River Dogs.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Here is the cap.
Speaker 12 (05:24):
Another one too, tipped into the mitt, held on to
strike three. Aiden Kreamrosa has thrown the first solo no
hitter in RiverDogs history. He'll be mobbed out towards second
base by Charleston.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
A brilliant feat for Cremerosa.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
That announcer is sixteen years old. That is how deep
this place sounds. It is an amazing young announcer that
they have there for the Charleston river Dogs. I thought
he would have more of a Southern drawl, but no,
Aiden Krimerose He'm twenty two years old, a pitcher in
the Tampa Bay Rays organization. If you're wondering where the
(06:05):
Charleston River Dogs are through a no hitter last Friday
against the hated Augusta Green Jackets, Matt, there is no
more arrogant group of minor.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
League baseball players. There is not a more stringent group
of sticklers.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Oh they're racist, they're terrible, misogynistic behavior.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
The Augusta Green Jackets and their manager, the punkass Jason Kelsey,
the only base runner alowed that kream Erosa allowed. Aiden
came on a full count walk with two outs in
the eighth inning and he was able to bounce back
from that. It's the first no hitter in Charleston River
(06:52):
Dog's history. I thought Thomas Ravenol threw one back in
the day and the guy from Southern charm but no.
And it's the first minor league solo, nine inning no
hitter since twenty eighteen, so that's pretty amazing and congratulations
to Aiden. He's a local guy from Burdbank, went to
(07:15):
Burroughs High until his senior year, when I believe COVID
sent him to IMG Academy because you can't just put
that arm on ice for a year, Matt.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
You can't, no, no, can't do people.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
He played at Fresno State, where he was the Mountain
West Pitcher of the Year last year, leading the way
with one hundred and twelve strikeouts. Krim Erosa was drafted
by the Rays, who know a little something about building
through their minor league system, in the eighth round last year,
and he had a great first season in pro ball.
And not only did he throw the no hitter last
(07:49):
week in single A, but he was the Raised Organization
Pitcher of the Month in April four and oh with
a two point point three to eight e r A.
We know jenn is very very, very very proud, and.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
She should be.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
What an awesome accomplishment for young Aiden cream Rosa, uh
formerly of Burrows High. Nobody's perfect. We would have appreciated
Burbank High. But no, no, nobody's gonna get angry. Kates
didn't just punch a microphone.
Speaker 10 (08:21):
I did.
Speaker 7 (08:22):
I tried to get the microphone back on attention here
Ago so pissed off that you said I was joking around.
Let's take it one more time, guys.
Speaker 12 (08:28):
Another one too, tipped into the mitt, held on to
strike three. Aiden cream A Rosa has thrown the first
solo no hitter in Riverdalk's history. It'll be mobbed out
towards second base by Charleston, A brilliant feat for cream Arosa.
Speaker 7 (08:46):
Keep in mind, I think it's the home call and
they were the visiting team, so that's why the guy
was a little bit subdued because his team just got.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Green jacket voice. I believe it is pt Beauregard.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yes, it is.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
All right, Well, congratulations to Jen. That's a great thing
and we are very happy and we will take ownership
of the young man as quickly as possible.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
It is time for the number of the day.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
My number number of the day, number the day is
eighty two, from sixty one, ninety six, thirty seven, up
from twenty five and thirty. When it comes to El Nino,
p this is the time when the forecasts are made,
when the warnings are shared.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
I heard about the supername.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Super Nino is on the books an eighty two percent
chance that an El Nino is likely to emerge over
the next few months, up from a sixty one percent
chance estimated a month ago, and now a ninety six
percent chance that the climate pattern will be in force
(09:56):
this coming winner.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
You know how loves the knee talk, the El Nino
and the super Nino and the man Ronnie Fossio, Oh
Fossio as well. Yeah, Fossio loves Ninyo talk.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
In my experience, so thirty percent chance of an El Nino,
super strong El Nino, twenty two percent chance, moderate nine
percent chance week so it feels like, uh, not a
La Nina, but at least in El Nino and perhaps
our first Super Nino. Uh. These statistics team come from
(10:31):
our friends over at Retro Surf Series. They share these
statistics about the great flood that changed California's coast in
eighteen sixty one. Heavy rain began falling on California in
late December and it would not stop for forty three days.
By the end of the storms, one quarter of the
(10:53):
state's economy was wiped out. Entire towns had been swept away.
The Santa Ana River matched the power of the Columbia
River peak flow three hundred and eighteen thousand cubic feet
per second. By February, the Santa Ana had joined the
San Gabriel and Los Angeles Rivers to create one massive
(11:16):
waterway stretching from Long Beach to Newport. The forty three
day storm set in place a series of atmospheric rivers.
Balboa Island and a majority of the Newport Peninsula were
direct results of this flood that reshaped California's coast in
(11:41):
ways that are still visible today.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
Do you think still on like Day forty one of
the rain in the eighteen hundreds, there was some California
douchebag that was like, we need the rain guys, need it?
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Come on, We know the droughts coming back.
Speaker 6 (11:56):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
It has been one hundred and sixty four years on sir,
since the great flood of eighteen sixty eighteen sixty one,
and now our forecast bee uh is suggesting eighty two chance. Well,
(12:18):
good looking you is knocking on that door.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
That means less surfing for you, mat because every time
it rains that you know, rivers become polluted, the ocean
becomes polluted, and you can't go out there.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Yeah, if you care about that sort of thing, tim
what it means, keep surf?
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Aren't they?
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Aren't they building good luck? Aren't they building some some
trash catchers to Matt for both rivers?
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Did they are process of raising the one point five
million dollars tip of the cap to Lisa Landau, Mayor
of Seal Beach and Joe Kalmick, City council person for
pushing forth the effort to get that trash catcher that
Newport has to try to keep their waterways clean. These
scumbags here and sealed each have not been able to
afford yet. So may they catch the trash And I
(13:05):
find myself with a less polluted body than I currently have.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
All that. And we got a call on the on
the talk back from Apollo. I mean it's been a day. Yeah, the.
Speaker 8 (13:21):
Patrols some money. This is Apollo and I'd like to
welcome you to downy California.
Speaker 6 (13:32):
Can't wait, cannot wait? All right, Ronnie, this.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Is the song of the day.
Speaker 13 (13:44):
Mecho is a record producer and musician producing our song
of the day's titled Star Wars theme. Canteena band a
huge hit reaching platinum status in the year nineteen seventy
seven at the height of the Star Wars craze, and
you're listening to it now on a crunchy groove Thursday,
where the Petros and Money show jumps to light speed,
(14:06):
transporting you through three hours of great sports talking right
into Dodger Baseball where it's Star Wars Night at unic
Low Field at Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers try to
strike down the Evil Giants for the split of this
four game series. And the force will be with our
good friend Tim Gates, who will have his robe on
and his lightsaber ready to do battle with your Morongo
(14:28):
Casino Dodgers on deck show that's coming up at six.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
O'clock, Red five standing by. Oh jeez, copy that, Ronnie.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Am I wrong to say that you are involved and
you enjoy a little Neino talk?
Speaker 13 (14:41):
Petros, I am a practicing meteorologist.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
I'll take that as a yes. Indeed, my whole life's
been about this moment.
Speaker 14 (14:51):
Johnny, you know a certain change in the barometric pressure
can just work wonders with your climate situation.
Speaker 13 (15:04):
Come on, Rod, it'll shift to the left, little wind
gust to the.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Right, A R two sing it God help us all.
Speaker 13 (15:13):
There it is, And I thought.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
They smelled bad on the outside.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
Eric Carrols will join us next.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Petros Papadakis, that money Smith, this is Petrol send money
on demand.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
If you're just checking in.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
Confirmed.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Mayor from out of Downey will join us tomorrow in
the three o'clock hour. Is our tour of towns, city
council people and Mayor's continues Stonewood Center, BJ's Restaurant and
brew House on a flex alert two to five thirty.
We started two. Mayor show us up at three. Dodgers
be a just after six thirty. That's why we're on
an hour early, so come see us win some tickets
(16:04):
to a Dodger game. BJ's gift cards and so much more. Again,
that is tomorrow at the BJ's Restaurant and brew House
and the Stonewood Center on the corner of Lakewood and
Firestone and Downey.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Yeah, you don't want to miss out on that.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
And we will get Eric Carrolson in a matter of
moments as our show continues. And the big thank you
to David Vassa who joined us in the last hour.
The big news is shoe a Otani, who has seemed
so superhuman since he's become a Dodger, is resting tonight
(16:37):
and will not hit.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
Obviously.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Last night pitched a beautiful gem to end the Dodgers
four game skid and proud we are of him for
doing so. So we talked to David Vassa about that.
We confirmed the mayor is going to be with us.
We got a message on the talk back from Apollo,
the city mascot, who I'm sure will be with us
(17:03):
unless he's.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
At the convention out in Indian.
Speaker 8 (17:06):
Wells patrols some money. This is Apollo, and I'd like
to welcome you to Downy, California.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Matt, you did a very very timely El Nino, Supernino.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
Freaking out man.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Number of the day. And even though Ronnie has no
memory of discussing the El Nino with me, I do
remember it, and he did say during the break, I
don't remember revealing my weather obsession with you. He didn't
say it, just I'm paraphrasing, and I said, I remember,
(17:49):
I certainly remember it. And this text says is El
Nino Latino? And I think that goes without saying.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Is right?
Speaker 4 (18:01):
I mean El Nino s Latino if it wasn't. If
it wasn't Latino, we just call it the ball, yeah,
the boy or the girl for And if Eric Carross
doesn't call, Ronnie will explain the difference to us between La.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Nina and Alnina Latin.
Speaker 13 (18:24):
I would love to.
Speaker 6 (18:26):
Which is Latino?
Speaker 4 (18:29):
So uh, that is something we also talked about, and
we had a great conversation about the young pitcher Matt.
But the one thing we haven't discussed and probably don't
really have room to discuss because I have a seasonal
story in the very next segment. But the one thing
we've not discussed at all today is Lebron not getting
(18:51):
the game ball and getting very unhappy.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
Now the video being shared, the inside the locker room
video being shared of high how he was acknowledged and
celebrated by his teammates, by his head coach.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
But you read about it man in that mcmnimum story.
You know, he walked into the night like a cock hold.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
You know, it wouldn't even change the la night. And
that was after seeing the video that I'm assuming Rob Polinka,
one of his underleans, was able to secure of JJ's
two sons congratulating their father in front of it. You know,
they played the video for the team and everybody got
excited and was cheering and came around and gave him
a big hug. And I guess Lebron just stormed out
(19:33):
of the locker room, huh, not showered in his uniform
and stuff.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
That's a great look for a forty one year old.
Not clearly how much celebrated, Like how much celebration do
you require?
Speaker 5 (19:48):
Seems as though, and this tends to happen, And isn't.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
JJ Reddick the coach because he was your podcast partner?
Is it a celebrations we thought of JJ Reddick also
a celebration of of bron lames.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
You can control over the weak Laker franchise at the time.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
You can tell when the tide has turned on someone
that has manipulated and dominated the media as now. And
granted he and stephen A had that that run in
on the court. I'm in the court side seats and
stephen A said, oh, you know, if I want to
step up to him and knock him out, it's all
that sort of stuff.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Yes, not, not since the Korean conflict has there been
such a such a terrible, terrible battle.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Now you're starting to get in front of media, people
taken on Lebron right now?
Speaker 6 (20:35):
You feel that way? Man?
Speaker 5 (20:36):
I do. I feel like the tide has shifted a
little bit.
Speaker 6 (20:38):
But there's still Lebronists.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
They'll always there, always will be. But once there's Jacobeans,
certainly there's still lebron iss out there. But you feel
as if I don't I don't know. Dave mcminnimon could
be Charles Dickens, and god knows he's not. But I
(21:00):
don't know how you spin that to have people feel
better about Lebron.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
Feels like people were pushing back on that one today that,
especially when the video leaked, push him back, push him.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Back, way way back, joining us right now and you're
so called Toyota dealers celebrity hotline, one of the great
LA Dodgers of all time, a Rookie of the Year,
A fine Greek American baseball playing family of record in
the South Bay, a beloved member of the community for decades.
(21:36):
Had a great broadcaster Fox Spectrum Sportsnet.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
A voice.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Of calming stability in a time of panic and discord.
The one and only Eric Carrolls Ladies and Gentlemen, UCLA
bruin and hero to the Petrosen Money Show, joining us
once again.
Speaker 9 (22:00):
Hello Eric, we're going on, guys. Man, I feel like
it's it's almost like a US right there. I mean
with his music and well, I mean, oh no.
Speaker 10 (22:12):
Not wow.
Speaker 15 (22:13):
Why guys, whenever you guys call me, you want me
to like, hey, I wouldn't even stress about it. Don't
worry about it exactly, everybody, what's going on?
Speaker 6 (22:22):
Exactly? Come on? Body zatfa What's what I mean?
Speaker 4 (22:30):
It's not going like we thought it was gonna go, Eric,
and somebody's got to answer for.
Speaker 9 (22:33):
It, So let me ask. So my first question would be,
so live or die?
Speaker 15 (22:41):
What what other team are you taking right now? You
got to win the World Series? Who are you thinking?
Speaker 5 (22:46):
I mean, you saw what your your friend CJ. Nikkowski
just posted about the Braves coming in here and knocking
the Dodgers around pretty good. You know, he kind of
made a little bit of a compelling case.
Speaker 9 (22:56):
Hey, look, CJ.
Speaker 15 (22:58):
CJ when he was working for the Range is to
tell you that the Rangers were gonna, you know, win
everything they do, you know, I mean it's just like
whoever who's ever in his bill is he's gonna you know, now, CJ.
Like the CJ SI And yes, the Braves are are
playing well right now. But again, like who are you
going to take if you have to live or die
(23:20):
come October? And I'm taking the Dodgers. Now I may die,
but I'm.
Speaker 9 (23:24):
Still taking the Dodgers.
Speaker 10 (23:26):
You know.
Speaker 9 (23:28):
Here's here's the thing, the the the.
Speaker 15 (23:32):
The expectations are so crazy, right and you know, you
want you want them to go out and just beat
everybody and everybody playing at the highest level. And the
reality is is the one hundred and you know, sixty
two games and it's just not gonna happen.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
It's not gonna happen.
Speaker 15 (23:48):
All you got to do is get your foot in
the door and then you know, make a run for it.
It doesn't matter how great you play now?
Speaker 9 (23:55):
Just doesn't you know? This is how would I put it?
Speaker 15 (23:58):
This is Uh, the season is just basically you know,
auditioning for parts, right, and you know who is going
to be you know the everyday second basement. Uh, you
know who's going to be? You know, a fourth outfielder.
How's that bullpen going to be? You know who are
the starters? You know what's what's the number? And yes,
(24:20):
there's going to be injuries, and there's going to be
unexpected things that happened throughout the year, but that every
club is subject to. And I will sit here and say, Tom,
you know, blue in the face, what organization can withstand
those sort of hits better than the Dodgers?
Speaker 9 (24:39):
Nobody? Like I get it, I get it.
Speaker 15 (24:42):
You know, I would show he was hitting you know,
a home run every time and pitching a no hitter
every time. You know movie, Yeah, I mean, but like,
what are we what are we doing here?
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Okay, you know what are we doing here? Here's what
we're doing. As as a man who played baseball at
a very high level into his mid thirties, the magical
season you had with the Cubs and you know, three
ninety win season with the Dodgers and O two. You
(25:13):
know what it looks like. And again, you played at
a high level when you were in your mid thirties,
But are you at all concerned with the way it
just looks the way Freddie looks, the way that that
Mookie has kind of been getting dinged up here and there,
that that Otani, you know, after two postseasons and last year,
is a two way player, and now they're not having
them hit and giving them the day off after he pitches, Like,
(25:33):
are you at all concerned about the age that these
guys are a little bit long in the tooth.
Speaker 15 (25:39):
So here's the thing about the age deal for me, Like,
you're never gonna You're never gonna.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
Know until it's too late. That's just facts.
Speaker 15 (25:48):
You know, you won't you won't recognize it until after
you know, the season and you didn't accomplish something or what.
But up until that point, it's going to be, oh no, well,
this just happens and we'll get going if this happens, Like,
there's nothing for me that that says age is going
(26:10):
to be enough of an impact to not have them
be the favorite to win the World Series. And so yes,
do there's that speed slow down. Does you know pitching
and hitting create a bit more fatigue?
Speaker 9 (26:28):
Do do.
Speaker 15 (26:30):
Crazy injuries over the you know, the last few years,
and you know off the field stuff create wear and tear? Absolutely,
But what's the alternative? Is there an alternative that is better? No,
there's not. Would I still take all of these guys
and you know again think that I'm gonna win a
(26:50):
World Series or hope?
Speaker 9 (26:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (26:52):
You have to remember, like, regardless of what happens, you know,
you get in there and any thing, anything can happen.
Speaker 9 (27:01):
I mean, you go back to.
Speaker 15 (27:03):
The Padres series, you know, two years ago, when they're up,
you know, two games to one going into Game four, that.
Speaker 9 (27:09):
Could have been it.
Speaker 15 (27:10):
You go to the World Series last year and there
were probably ten different things that if just one of
them goes Toronto's way, there's a good chance Toronto wins
that World Series and all nine or ten, you know,
the Dodgers. I'm not saying it went the Dodgers' ways,
but they were resilient enough and you know, did not
(27:33):
give up and one each of those let's say nine
or ten plays and they won a World Series. So
I still I still like the Dodgers more than I
like any other team, and don't I think that will
probably be get stronger as the year goes on.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
A voice of reason for Dodger fans, the great Eric Kara.
He's like a we are like an infant to his bosom.
He's he's so comforting in these moments. I do remember
a very volatile conversation years ago before the twenty twenty
five or twenty twenty four World Series where Eric Carrows
(28:16):
had to really had had to really impose himself on
David Vasse, who was almost hypatia.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
He was, he was almost.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Hysterical and uh and uh, I don't know if he
ever bought you the steak dinner that.
Speaker 15 (28:28):
He's no, no, he has. He still owes me a
dinner that's terrible. Every year, every year something like this
a couple of years ago. It was a guy at
the farmer's market last year that sells me my a.
This guy every weekend talking about the Podres and I'm like,
(28:49):
I finally dropped the same line on him, like, dude,
you're putting all your chickens on the Podres or the Dodgers.
Speaker 9 (28:57):
Not even a question?
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah, uh.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
Has been asking the question do we need O'toni the
pitcher or Otani the hitter. I think it's the hitter. Uh,
what are your thoughts on that?
Speaker 9 (29:13):
I mean that's fair. I mean that's fair.
Speaker 15 (29:15):
As a fan, you know, you can have your opinion.
So do I think the I think he probably has
more impact on the team as a hitter. Now we're
talking about hitter of you know, two years ago or
last year. We're not talking about hitter this year. But
(29:38):
that's not how it works. It works. You know what
is what is what are show Hay's goals and you know,
the organization, the team is going to do what they
can to support those you know, those desires. And the
reality is when show hate came over here to when
I see I say, came over here to the States,
(29:59):
the reality was that people, people evaluators to a man,
would tell you that they thought that he was going
to be the greatest pitcher ever and that his his
ceiling is a pitcher was much greater than it would
be as a hitter. Now that obviously, I mean, the
ceiling is a hitter is crazy. I mean, you know,
(30:21):
we're one of the best, right, one of the best
that you know, I get one of the most impactful,
the Dodgers. The Dodgers should have enough offense where you
know he can do as he pleases, right, and the pitching.
If you look at the pitching and the numbers and
what he's doing, it is insane.
Speaker 9 (30:43):
You look at that. I mean, the e er. The
only guy I think it was. I was reading something
the other day.
Speaker 15 (30:47):
The only guy with an e er for the Dodgers
and the first seven starts that was comparable or lower,
I should say, I believe was Fernando Fernando, Like his
first you know, the year of Fernando Mania was something
like a a point two or something. You know, I
think show Hay's point eight or point nine. But he
is just dominant, and he's you know, he's getting better,
(31:10):
and he's throwing seven inings his last two starts. But
here's the thing. Do you need show Hay to be
a number one or number two on the Dodgers to
win the World Series? Or do you need show Hay
to hit forty five or fifty home runs and be
that type of player?
Speaker 9 (31:26):
Like what's more important?
Speaker 15 (31:27):
And I would say, you know the glass now, Snell
Yamamoto are all you know standing up right?
Speaker 9 (31:35):
I think that's pretty formidable.
Speaker 15 (31:37):
And that's not even talking about you know, some of
the other guys that she got.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
I know, we can't you know, you can't project injury
or assume that injury is going to be avoided or happened.
But with what do you think it is with the
with the closer? It really is the one spot where
it doesn't maybe line up analytically to spend a bunch
of money to go get someone, but they have now
twice and twice now Tanner Scott last year for whatever reason,
just kind of got away from you. Is pitching much
(32:03):
better this year? But now Edwin Diz Does that concern
you at all for the postseason? Considering what they needed
to do with Roki and how that even got kind
of shaky toward the end, uh and just kind of
looking down the way there in San Diego and what
they have with Mason Miller, it feels like game over
the second you know, you have a lead going into
the ninth inning or probably even the eighth. When the
postseason comes around, are you all worried about that spot
(32:25):
on this team?
Speaker 15 (32:28):
So if you're if the question is you know, where
is there where is there a possible you know, place
you could attack the Dodgers. And I'm saying possible because
it's you know, again, Tanner Scott's throwing really well this year.
You know, I think that they figure it out. And
if you're if your offense is so good and your
(32:49):
starting staff is good, you know, you don't have to
have the best bullpen in the game. If you're the Padres,
you absolutely need it because your offense is it doesn't
you know. I mean the one thing about the Padres
this year is you got to you got to play
them for nine innings because they've had a few walkoffs
this year. But if you look at all their numbers
(33:14):
outside of the wind calum, which I get it, it's
the most important thing, it just doesn't it doesn't add up.
Speaker 9 (33:19):
And so offensively.
Speaker 15 (33:21):
Are they comparable to the Dodgers, No starting savathy, comparable
to the Dodgers.
Speaker 9 (33:27):
No bullpen?
Speaker 15 (33:28):
Yes, but I'll take I'll take, you know, I'll take
the Dodgers' bullpen. And like we're when we talk about
the Dodgers, we always say, do they have the very
best at this position or do they have the very
best in this you know area? And it's like, you
don't have to be the very best, you can be
(33:49):
pretty damn good and be the very best in other areas,
and you're still going to.
Speaker 9 (33:53):
Be fut like we're nitpicking. You know.
Speaker 15 (33:55):
Next we're going to get like we're gonna get upset
about the the road uniforms.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Yeah, say, well, what do you want to say? How
we are?
Speaker 9 (34:02):
We could do a segment. We could do a segment
on that, right, I mean it's appy. Well, you know so,
I mean we.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Got three hours, Eric, and I'm not a positive man.
Speaker 15 (34:13):
There you go, dude, I'm right with you there. I
like I thought maybe we could talk about beach life
a few weeks ago, or you know, some of the
giveaways that Like I always thought that the show Hey
Bobblehead was like the ultimate giveaway and that created the
most traffic and it was a nightmare getting into the stadium.
Speaker 6 (34:31):
And I was.
Speaker 15 (34:32):
Completely blown away this year that Hello Kitty blew that
out of the water. I mean, like, those are the
topics that are are relevant because this other stuff is
just We'll see it, you know, in the end of September,
and then you know, then we can talk about these
concerns we quarterly.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
Eric Carrolls comes on and takes it to the Panic brothers,
and we sure appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
Were taking the loss were you know, we have to.
It's part of the year.
Speaker 9 (35:00):
We just kill fifteen minutes.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
And then some more than that.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
The ladies and gentleman we're talking about, right, sixteen minutes,
we're lost.
Speaker 6 (35:10):
We've done it.
Speaker 15 (35:11):
It's closer to Dodger Baseball in a few hours.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Who else you're taken? Huh? Who else you take it?
In the World Series?
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Come on live or die? Man, Now, maybe I'll die, Yeah,
but I'll die. I'll die with the right with the
right attitude.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Thanks again to Eric Harris, and we shall return with
more great sports talk, a seasonal segment of substance.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Next, this is Petrol Money on Demand Petrol Some Money

Speaker 6 (36:05):
All right, we'll call This the flip top story of
the day. Everybody, I'll flip.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
You out, I will look you out, tell you this
is the flip top story of the day.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
All right, Matt. It's a big month for graduates. June
used to be the big graduate month, but it's not anymore.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
It's May now. It in college, it's been May for
quite some time. And that was even honored way back
when life used to mean something in nineteen ninety three,
thirty three years ago, when the iconic television show Beverly
Hills nine two one zero aired the seminal episode Something
(36:50):
in the Air. This, of course, is reacting to the
storyline where Tory Spelling's character Donna Mark is banned from
graduating after getting drunk, very drunk at the prom. Now,
(37:12):
her mom, if you remember, was very strict, refused to
appeal the school board suspension.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
She wasn't going to be able to graduate. Donna Martin
was not going to be able to graduate.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
And I look back, I remember watching this episode enthralled
back in ninety three, Matt, not as enthralled as when
they solved racism a few times, but enthralled nonetheless. And
I watched it back today, and I did. I did
think now that I watched city council meetings and I'm
(37:52):
told to watch, I don't watch a lot of school
board meetings, but I do get the impression that the
school board here buckled pretty easily under pressure. But you
be the judge, Matt. Okay, this scene starts out where
there's a crowd gathered outside of the school board for
West Beverly High and they've been notified that if they
(38:17):
don't disperse, just like lean on me with Principal Joe Clark,
if they don't disperse, they're all going to be flunked,
and they're all not going to be able to graduate. Now,
they also have the junior class there because Walsh looped
them in on a dress code issue that they wanted
to protest. So we start there where let's.
Speaker 11 (38:41):
Say says we dropped the whole thing right now, they
won't go ahead and flunk all of.
Speaker 10 (38:46):
Us, should they do that.
Speaker 16 (38:49):
Sandersen, I know how important Donna Martin is to all
of you, but just that part is serious about this,
and I'd hate to see you throw your entire high
school careers down the drain for this.
Speaker 17 (39:01):
So, Superintendent, that part that summer school registration is gonna
break the record this year. Yeah, yeah, graduates here here
that starts now, Donald Martin graduates.
Speaker 10 (39:14):
Donal Martin graduates.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
Maybe this has gone too far. Maybe should just tell.
Speaker 11 (39:24):
Me to go home and come on you sound like
spiral egg.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Now they're gonna rush in during the meeting, Matt. They're
rushing in.
Speaker 5 (39:33):
They're blowing through the doors for the school board.
Speaker 18 (39:36):
Here.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
Yeah, here they go. They're going into They're going into
the room. The guy's gonna call for order with his hammer.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
This is awkward, graduate.
Speaker 12 (40:04):
Graduate, this meeting will come back to order.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
He's a fat bearded ball guy.
Speaker 13 (40:09):
Grad Now, Superintendent, you're out of order.
Speaker 10 (40:15):
Mister Walsh.
Speaker 18 (40:16):
I think we've gone a little beyond Robert's rules at
this point.
Speaker 9 (40:19):
George, I'd like to hear what Brandon.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Has to say.
Speaker 11 (40:22):
Oh, now, the students who have taken your threats very seriously,
Superintendent Heart.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Just stop real quick.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
I mean, how about that tone right at part. I
mean that is not that that is not a conciliatory
tone for Brandon to be taking. I mean, this is
a hard line. Let's see how it works out for him.
Speaker 11 (40:43):
Con But I think you can judge by the reaction
and no one's going anywhere, so scared to call the
police to make us all go home. I think you
ought to take what we're saying a little more seriously.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Yeah, now I'm stopping right there. I know that are
black friends. I know are The police would have been
there already if this wasn't Wes Beverly High. Fair And
I'd like to remind everybody Wes Beverly High does not exist.
But you're right, these kids are like, Hey, you're gonna
call the cops on us or a bunch of kids
(41:14):
from Beverly Hills. Our parents wouldn't like that. That's a
good threat by Walsh.
Speaker 11 (41:19):
And we're all here because we believe in something. You
all would have been very happy if you hadn't caught
someone with an unblemish school record, someone that you could
have very easily made an example out of, somebody like me.
That's what this rule was all about, wasn't it. However,
ladies and gentlemen, you caught the wrong person. You caught
(41:39):
someone that doesn't deserve to be treated like this. You
caught our friend Donna Martin. Donna Martin is the clinic
girl that goes out of her way for people. That's
why all these people here are going out of their
way for her. We love Donna and we're not going
to see her hurt.
Speaker 10 (41:56):
Yeah, thank you, mister Walsh.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
All right, we gotta have a vote. Oh one motor thing.
Speaker 11 (42:11):
Oh I loved so much success matriculating the juniors. Unless
you dropped his whole dress code thing.
Speaker 12 (42:18):
What we'll take that under advisement, Like, are you kidding
any equations public school?
Speaker 10 (42:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 18 (42:26):
I'd just like to say that I, for one, am
not prepared to call the police here today. See, Therefore,
I move we vote to allow Dona Martin to graduate
provide a chain role in a drug and alcohol counseling program.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
At the Maple Center.
Speaker 18 (42:41):
Second, I also suggest that we review the dress code
situation or we're going to have a demonstration like this
the first week of school in September.
Speaker 6 (42:49):
Junior Classior class. Very well, all right, let's see this
guy just bought my mode.
Speaker 10 (42:58):
Signifies Miss Martin will graduate.
Speaker 19 (43:01):
Nay vote signifies the decision of the disciplinary committee. We'll
stand all right, mister Chang Nay, missus Richter I, miss Silverman.
Speaker 6 (43:17):
I evil Chinese guy votes of nay two chich poola nay.
Angry dude, maybe.
Speaker 19 (43:25):
When is Lofrano for the final deciding vote.
Speaker 6 (43:28):
Lofrano, I.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
So listen everybody, whenever you think you're down on the
dumps and the odds against you are just too big.
Like the ducks tonight. You remember ducks first thing, Ducks
fly together.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Second thing.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
Donamo Martin graduates. Let's try to buckle down and get
through May together and great sports talk. Okay, let's have
a Let's try to ignore the fact that we're getting
nailed by the king and try to enjoy our lives together.
Speaker 6 (44:13):
Donna Martin graduates, and you remember.
Speaker 5 (44:16):
Prom because there's no repercussions.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
Well not for somebody with an unblemish record. The rule
was unfair to begin with. Matt Obviously you should have
seen Walsh's jean jacket outfit too.
Speaker 6 (44:28):
God done.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
But I just want to say, when you're sitting at
a graduation, I mean, my god, my daughter's graduating fifth grade.
They have a thing for that, which is what But
you know eighth grade, you know, high school, college, graduate school.
Wherever you're sitting there, you remember you wouldn't be there
if it wasn't for Donna Martin. You wouldn't be there
(44:51):
if it wasn't for Aaron and Tory spelling.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Yeah, I don't think it works that way.
Speaker 4 (44:54):
Donna Martin graduates everybody. We got another hour of great
sports talk and ducks fly together. Kase is watching him
alone at home tonight because nobody in Burbank will support him.
Speaker 6 (45:04):
Oh no,
