amazing vent here man. I mean, Spanish came out in
full force today. I went with my son and my
my in laws. We had an unbelievable day. I actually
saw a couple with all the jerseys, which is so cool, right,

there's a guy walking at me, right and he's wearing

he's got the eleven and I'm like, you got to
be kidding. I go like that jersey man, and he goes, hey, thanks,

at me and then he kind of did that thing.

a funny moment for that when you wear so much
jerseys of the game and then you bump into them
and then and when you're going up there or you know,

through the that was pretty That was pretty cool. But look,
we had a we had a blast. I'm actually there scouting.
To be honest, is if we if this thing keeps going, well,
we got to play again.

is that? I guess you can just go into that

best scorer and beat what looks to be a pretty
darn good Belgium team.

First of all, it sucked. It was a terrible call.
I don't like how they re referee these things. The
Brazilian ref goes to the monitor and then watches it
five times in slow motion. Of course it's going to
look worse, so they end up making a bad decision.
And I just feel for the kid because he's in
such great for him, he's such a big part of
our team. But look, I mean, we're playing against Belgium now,

right it was an aging team. They're not the same
Belgium that was the last time we played them. And
some of their guys, I mean, like Lukakuh played more
in the game yesterday than he did for his club
team all year, and he looks like he's fifteen pounds overweight.
So I'm not really too worried about Belgium. I'm just
I'm thinking that if we keep doing what we're doing,

this might work out. And you got to have some
good luck, and our good luck was that we didn't
have to play Christian Polisic against Australia. And yeah, it's
unfortunate that Balligan's gonna miss this one, but I mean,
you couldn't have a better option. We have Ricardo Peppe,
who's the leading scorer in the Dutch league, playing against
some second tier Belgian defenders. If he knows how to

play against anybody, it's this team. So everybody cool your jets,
don't worry. It'll work out in the end. We'll have
a very fresh and ready Balligan by the time we
get to Spain.

I mean years to master. He hit it perfect. It's

so hard to do because you're so close to the
wall that you've got to get the ball up and down.
And I can't stress enough. You know, how how impressed
I was with that. I've already sent him a note saying,
you know, thanks for making me relevant because now everybody
wants to talk about the last time we had a

He's always relevant, especially right now. The great Ericjuanalda. I mean,
you've been inside, maybe far too inside of US soccer
for so many years, and sometimes you know, you can
be too close to something and not be able to
convey it. But there's been so much frustration, you know,
from analysts over the years. What happened to where this

has turned around? So it feels like dramatically this year
is it's as simple as the coach, Eric, what is it?

Well, we got more really good players, that's one. But
this coach is real, man, He's reset the mentality tone
and these guys are in a really cool headspace. Not
only are they good enough are they're a very good team,
but they are fighting for each other and they just
mesh really well together. So all the people there were
the naysayers saying that all the team didn't look good

a couple of months ago. Whatever, they just didn't trust
that Pusatina was putting this puzzle together and he kind
of knew what he was doing the whole time. I mean,
he's the first coach to win three World Cup games.
I mean we got other coaches, Bob Bradley or Bruce Arena.
I mean I was just thinking about this. I think
we've won more games in this World Cup than than
we've won in the last four Yeah, so how about that.

Let's just let's celebrate this, guys. But this is for
all your listeners. Who are you know, even if you're
on the fence, this team is so good. They're so fun,
they're so dynamic, they're so together. And I still I
said it from the beginning, I thought that the semi
finals was a possibility. I believe that now more than ever.

I saw I'm watching the Portugal Croatia game right now
and it could not have been better timing. As you
talked about the challenge as someone who has scored on
a free kick for the national team, and what Tilman did,
and it's arguably one of the greatest to have ever

dude in the balls so hard.

mean it's amazing what they're both doing. It's amazing that
they're still out there. But I would still argue that, man,
if they had somebody else, Portugal be a lot better,
a lot more dynamic, if they had a pola gun
or a guy like that could really run into space

and make things hard on people. They're so talented, and
I just think it's it's actually a disadvantage that he's
still still out there. He'll ever accept the role of
a subc. He go's too big. But you know, no,
it's not a guy that's so talented. He hits somebody
in the balls, that's that's where it goes. Now he was,

trust me, he was aiming somewhere else. He's not that good.

Oh, come on, he's so talented. He can hit somebody

I mean, I've never been more impressed with the character
of this group. So they dealt with it. They're going
to deal with it again. People are gonna come after them.

I hope they say that we're the underdog. That's great
because there's no way that you'll convince me that Belgium
is better than us. And don't get all caught up
in that game when we played a couple of months
ago when we lost five to two, were like five
guys that were on the field in that deal. So
different setup, unbelievable setting in Seattle. They're gonna bring it.
They're gonna bring. They're going to bring a whole new
level out of our guys. So just keep you enjoying it, guys.

or Freeman's been talked about a lot, Like it just
seems like there's a lot of different dudes whose names

That's a great question, But I mean, you know, I'm
not a big stab guy, but we have like five
guys leading categories, different categories. Nobody has recorded or made
more you know, steals than than Tyler Adams, right, nobody's
put more miles on the end of the game than
Weston McKinney. Right. So then and you start breaking it

down and you look at like our goalkeeper Matt Freeze,
who's just coming on the heels of two consecutive shutouts.
So there's so many other pieces to the game that
and you break it into little pieces and you say,
all right, well, everybody's got a roll out there. These
guys are just filling their role. They compliment each other,

and they are the essence of the team. Filman's special, though.
I gotta be honest that Pilman is special. The back heels,
the little flicks, the way he and a special team.
It's like, I can't really compare it to anything else,
but like when you look at at basketball or something,
when you get a couple of guys that they just

they just have this sixth sense they can play together
and they're doing stuff that that other guys are, it's
it's the kind of team we have right now. Maybe
They don't have the biggest names, but they have the
biggest hearts and they they certainly have our backing guys
that know the game, watch the game, love the game.

First of all, it sucked. It was a terrible call.
I don't like how they re referee these things. The
Brazilian ref goes to the monitor and then watches it

look worse, so they end up making a bad decision.
And I just feel for the kid because he's in
such great for him, he's such a big part of
our team. But look, I mean, we're playing against Belgium now,

right it was an aging team. They're not the same
Belgium that was the last time we played them. And
some of their guys, I mean, like Lukakuh played more
in the game yesterday than he did for his club
team all year, and he looks like he's fifteen pounds overweight.
So I'm not really too worried about Belgium. I'm just
I'm thinking that if we keep doing what we're doing,

this might work out. And you got to have some
good luck, and our good luck was that we didn't
have to play Christian Polisic against Australia. And yeah, it's
unfortunate that Balligan's gonna miss this one, but I mean,
you couldn't have a better option. We have Ricardo Peppe,
who's the leading scorer in the Dutch league, playing against
some second tier Belgian defenders. If he knows how to

play against anybody, it's this team. So everybody cool your jets,
don't worry. It'll work out in the end. We'll have
a very fresh and ready Balligan by the time we
get to Spain.

you've been inside, maybe far too inside of US soccer

be too close to something and not be able to

but they are fighting for each other and they just

the naysayers saying that all the team didn't look good

a couple of months ago. Whatever, they just didn't trust
that Pusatina was putting this puzzle together and he kind
of knew what he was doing the whole time. I mean,
he's the first coach to win three World Cup games.
I mean we got other coaches, Bob Bradley or Bruce Arena.
I mean I was just thinking about this. I think
we've won more games in this World Cup than than
we've won in the last four Yeah, so how about that.

Let's just let's celebrate this, guys. But this is for
all your listeners. Who are you know, even if you're
on the fence, this team is so good. They're so fun,
they're so dynamic, they're so together. And I still I
said it from the beginning, I thought that the semi

down and you look at like our goalkeeper Matt Freeze,
who's just coming on the heels of two consecutive shutouts.
So there's so many other pieces to the game that
and you break it into little pieces and you say,
all right, well, everybody's got a roll out there. These
guys are just filling their role. They compliment each other,

and they are the essence of the team. Filman's special, though.
I gotta be honest that Pilman is special. The back heels,
the little flicks, the way he and a special team.
It's like, I can't really compare it to anything else,
but like when you look at at basketball or something,
when you get a couple of guys that they just

they just have this sixth sense they can play together
and they're doing stuff that that other guys are, it's

biggest hearts and they they certainly have our backing guys
