They were like some of the live shots this morning
while we were on the air, like there's no way

about is all the money that I have given this city.
You know, when we talk about our taxes and everything else,
did anyone think that, hey, you know that infrastructure thing,

perhaps maybe the piping that we have in Hollywood underneath
this very expensive area and everything else, maybe we should
upgrade that.

That, for some reason, the water pressure is more intense
overnight than it is during the day. Because you imagine

But they actually explain the fact why would it happen
at four thirty in the morning. But for some reason,
I don't know the technicality, whatever it was, but they
just said the water pressure is more intense overnight than
it is.

Just seems a little suspect to me.

Steve, it sounded like, you know, there was Mayor bass
and She's like, wow, really I needed this right now.
I'm running for re election. I've already got enough problems
and I got something like this. But yeah, so anyway, yeah,
that was that was a spectacular video this morning.

I mean, but you know, at least the Dodgers aren't
here to have to sit through it. You know, I'm
assuming they're When do you think they're on the flight
to head to New York? When do you think they
make that track later tonight? Or do you think they're
already there.

I mean, first of all, for those that were not
part of the All Star Game festivities in Philadelphia, I mean,
what do you do? I mean, do you do you
take it like a full on vacation. You and I

I don't know if you ad seriously, I mean, if
you you had let's say, four days off.

That's why when we were you know, I was having
a conversation with David Vass a couple days ago and

Star break and it seems a lot longer than it
actually is. But the reality is, you know, they finished
the game against the Diamondbacks on.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and thirst to be ready to go, man,
because you got your like, there's actually one game tonight.
Phillies are playing too, Yeah, there's one game.

And so I I'm thinking to myself, Yeah, what do
you do. It's not like you can get away. It's
not like a bye week in the NFL where.

You've got to be local. It's you're not going to
fly to Europe for a couple of days. I've done
that a couple of times. We actually here back in
the day at five seventy we did a deal two
years in a row where we took listeners to Hawaii,
and so the first year we did it, I looked
at my schedule because I had to get back for TV.

I literally did a twenty four hour trip.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
So we flew to Why it's a five hour flight,
as you know, and our show was at noon here, but.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
It would be nine am while we did the show
at Waikiki.

Yeah, we're at Reiki Ki, the whole shebang right there
in Waikiki and Oahu, and we had Robert or with us,
and we were promoting alcohol products. So basically I drank okay,
we drank good starting at nine am local tood and
then we were entertaining these people the rest of the day, right,
So more alcohol, more alcohol.

And then I woke up at four a m.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
The next morning to get to the airport to fly
back to LA and then went straight from the airport
to KTLA in Hollywood to be on the air.

I mean, if you're going to do Hawaii, you make it,
make it, make it a quick job.

It was. I did not do that the second here,
I said, Okay, Hartman, I understand this idea that you
have to be at work or whatever you want to
do and everything else.

That's just stupid.

Yeah, but I I the Dodgers for anybody that wasn't.
And I also wondered this for the guys who did
go to the All Star Game in Philly? Are you
coming back? Or do you just say, if you're a
single guy, why don't just stay on the East Coast
and I'll just meet the team there.

Why would you want to come? That would make more sense.
I think Freddie Freeman would do.

Now, Freddie Freeman's a veteran, he's been there, he's a
perenni All Star.

Got young ones, he's got a family. I would think
that he probably flew back get back.

Like, if you're traveling all around the country like these
guys do, and you've got a New York trip and
an East Coast swing afterwards, I'm I'd rather just lay
low at home.

You know. Speaking of Freddie Freeman, I have good news
for Dodgers fans.

Looks like Freddie wants to stay a little longer, All right, Yeah,
he wants to stay a little longer. You know, when
I when I look at the career of Freddie Freeman, honestly,
it reminds me a lot of a guy that when
he first joined the Braves was a mainstay Chipper Jones,
Hall of Famer, first ballot Hall of Famer, just one
of those models of consistency. He's like one of those
guys used sort of penciling his numbers year after year

after year after year, and then when it's all said
and done, he has over three thousand hits and you know,
bob blah all those Hall of Fame numbers.

Obviously, Freddy's going to be in the Hall of Fame someday.

But there's something to be said about a guy that
you literally can just put him in the lineup every
single day, and you can almost write exactly what he's going.

To do day in and day. It's crazy.

I mean his When you think about when Atlanta decided
to walk away from Freddie Freeman.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Well that whole thing. I remember you remember that stick, Yeah, that.

Was you know, the there were some bad feelings, there
were some emotions that went on when he when he
got here, having to say that was a certain person that.

We know got involved. Look, hey, I don't have to
mention that. No, no, no you don't.

But I think everybody remembers that there were some some
allegations and reckless ones that were thrown out there that
that almost cost somebody dearly. But I so when Atlanta decided,
all right, we got to step away from Freddie Freeman,
we're going to go in a different direction. They won
their World series him Dansby Swans and others. They decided
we're going to go and transition.

They bring in Matt Olson after Freddie Freeman. But the
thought was it's been a great run, he's peaked, And
then you could argue the highlights of his career have
all happened since he left Atlanta.

He was great in Atlanta.

You know it's going to be interesting because the talk
now is that Freddie may play as many as three
more years. Right, So let's say he does, you know,
and he you know again, he's already in the Hall
of Fame, but he passes all the milestones, you know,
three thousand hits, the whole she bank. Does he go
into the Hall of Fame with a Braves cap or
a Dodgers cap.

I think he'll have a choice.

I think he will have played long enough with the
Dodgers where the Hall of Fame they don't. Sometimes they
decide for the guys like you just played way too much.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
My favorite was Dave Winfield, who hated.

The Yankees even though he played longer with the Yankees,
and he wanted as a padre by his own choice,
and they allowed him to do that. But Freddy will
literally have a choice to either go in as a
Brave or as a Dodger.

Yeah, And I think wasn't it was it Andre Dawson
who had to fight to get the Expo's hat off
his because he was spent most of his time with Montreal,
and I think he didn't want that to happen or whatnot.
I would say, when you think about Freddie Freeman's career,
you're going to think more about the Dodgers because the
moments were on a bigger stage. I agree, Like we look,

we've talked about, you know, the Dodgers Yankees, that rivalry.
Nobody benefited more from that series a couple of years
ago than Freddy Freeman. That moment that he had playing
banged up in that situation, he was just tremendous.

And he's such a good dude as well.

And so I think that it's interesting because the thought was, hey,
he's getting older, we've got to move on, we need
to go in a different direction. But he's got the
style of play to where he's gonna age gracefully. I
don't see him being somebody that you look at and go, man,
the last two years are real rough, like he like

his style of play. He's so smooth and the way
he does it and that swing just feels like you
can replicate that later in your career. People wonder, man,
when Steph Curry gets older, what's it gonna look like?

Probably like this. You can still hit a jump shot
if you're Steph Curry. Well, you don't have the same
war and tear att first base. Let's face it, you
just don't. I mean, we see Mookie, you know who
I think physically is feeling the effects of all the
different position moves that he's had over the last couple
of years. Plus he's not a physically imposing guy. You know,
Mookie's another obviously a first ballot.

Hall of Famer.

But and plus when you're you know, bowling, you know,
six nights a week, I mean, that's.

A weird ding, you know what I mean, maybe he
needs to cut back, and I agree with you, you know,
but as far as Freddy Freeman, I mean, he's like
the iron Horse.

You know, this is like Lou Garrett back in the day.

The guy's out there and he's just gonna he's gonna,
you know, play forever as long as he wants to play.

Freeman as long as he wants to play.

Because the initial thought would be, all right, if Freddie Freeman,
if you want to bring him back, and he wants
to I know, Dylan Hernandez you know, talked about, hey,
you know, get a two year extension done. Get it
done before the end of the season. He wants to
retire a Dodger. It makes all the sense in the world,
I get it. But if Otani wasn't here, you could

just say, you know, make Freddy your DH because you've
got to find a spot for a Will Smith, Dalton
Rushing whoever the hell knows what's going on there. That
seems like it's a you know, a chaotic experience all
the way through. And so I wonder, well, what do
you do with Will Smith? Like where does where does
that end up? Because he can't catch forever and Freddie Freeman,

you know, I mean him as a d day h
and then you make Will Smith that it just feels
like it's a good problem to have, But I just
think it's not as easy of a decision maybe as
some people I think.

you know he earned that All Star start. I mean,
the guy's hitting two ninety right now. He still has

Can they win a World Series right now? If they
don't make a move, Yes, that's why they're the favorite.

I don't like how many moves are really going to

an opportunity to win a World series, to win, you know,

three straight World series. I just think if they didn't
make a move at all, they would still be able
to win a World Series. That's why I wonder if
they can be a little bit more hesitant.

his game diminishing. I think they'd absolutely be open to it,
and especially if the money's right, you know, with the
way that he's producing and his style of play. And

that guy's always going to be able to hit a
jump shot. There are just certain players to where they
can play for a long period of time.

to get their hands on it, which just tells you
the popularity of the Dodgers in this town and also

ownership group changed the whole dynamic of the Dodger organization
of the Frank McCourt days. I remember I was covering
quite a bit of baseball at those days, you know,
out of Dodger Stadium quite a bit. And there were games.
I remember Kevin Kennedy, a good friend of mine. We
would sit there in the press box, plenty of seats available.

I mean there were games there was like fifteen thousand.
Oh yeah, I mean would they would announce you know,
thirty thousand because it was like tickets sold.

I wish that people that go to games now understood

I had a recent Costco experience. I don't want to

on where you're going here, but I had a recent
Costco experience and it gave me anxiety, Like just the
whole situation.

Well, so I got we got gift cards for Christmas,
and I just got around the using them within the
last about three weeks. And so we got gift cards
for Christmas. And you walk in there and even with
the gift cards we've got and it was a very
nice gift and it was awesome, still had to come
out of pocket. I just it's never like never enough.

And so you go down these aisles, it's like, oh,
we'll get some of those. Well you realize that's going
to expire, so are we going to be able to
eat that in time? There's literally my wife and my
five year old son. It's not like we're feeding.

You know, people will like I have two boys, you
know that close to name everything.

So I just you end up going down aisle after
aisle after aisle after aisle, and as well, we got to.

Grab something from here and grab something from there and

To a standard supermarket like a Ralph's or someplace like that,
you kind of know where to navigate, where to go
what you need, but it just sort of to your point,
sucks you in to where you walk through and you're
overtaken by it all and it's almost like Vegas.

It's like the Vegas of supermarkets to where you're you're.

Drinking and eating stuff you would never eat or drink
or even think about getting in a normal situation, but
there's something about that place that makes you do it.

So give cars so you don't feel like with the
three of you, like you would get a packet of
fifty chicken breast Like that doesn't make it love.

Yeah, no, that doesn't make sense. We don't need you know,
the twenty four pack of bagels. They're just gonna expire,

on date. And we ended up having to like get
rid of some of this stuff because it just we
couldn't eat.

and we were promoting alcohol products. So basically I drank okay,
we drank good starting at nine am local tood and
then we were entertaining these people the rest of the day, right,
So more alcohol, more alcohol.

And then I woke up at four a m.

The next morning to get to the airport to fly
back to LA and then went straight from the airport
to KTLA in Hollywood to be on the air.

It was. I did not do that the second here,
I said, Okay, Hartman, I understand this idea that you
have to be at work or whatever you want to
do and everything else.

Yeah, but I I the Dodgers for anybody that wasn't.
And I also wondered this for the guys who did
go to the All Star Game in Philly? Are you
coming back? Or do you just say, if you're a
single guy, why don't just stay on the East Coast
and I'll just meet the team there.

Why would you want to come? That would make more sense.
I think Freddie Freeman would do.

Now, Freddie Freeman's a veteran, he's been there, he's a

You know. Speaking of Freddie Freeman, I have good news
for Dodgers fans.

Looks like Freddie wants to stay a little longer, All right, Yeah,
he wants to stay a little longer. You know, when
I when I look at the career of Freddie Freeman, honestly,
it reminds me a lot of a guy that when
he first joined the Braves was a mainstay Chipper Jones,
Hall of Famer, first ballot Hall of Famer, just one
of those models of consistency. He's like one of those
guys used sort of penciling his numbers year after year

after year after year, and then when it's all said
and done, he has over three thousand hits and you know,
bob blah all those Hall of Fame numbers.

Obviously, Freddy's going to be in the Hall of Fame someday.

But there's something to be said about a guy that
you literally can just put him in the lineup every
single day, and you can almost write exactly what he's going.

To do day in and day. It's crazy.

I mean his When you think about when Atlanta decided
to walk away from Freddie Freeman.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Well that whole thing. I remember you remember that stick, Yeah, that.

Was you know, the there were some bad feelings, there
were some emotions that went on when he when he
got here, having to say that was a certain person that.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
We know got involved. Look, hey, I don't have to
mention that. No, no, no you don't.

But I think everybody remembers that there were some some
allegations and reckless ones that were thrown out there that
that almost cost somebody dearly. But I so when Atlanta decided,
all right, we got to step away from Freddie Freeman,
we're going to go in a different direction. They won
their World series him Dansby Swans and others. They decided
we're going to go and transition.

They bring in Matt Olson after Freddie Freeman. But the
thought was it's been a great run, he's peaked, And
then you could argue the highlights of his career have
all happened since he left Atlanta.

He was great in Atlanta.

You know it's going to be interesting because the talk
now is that Freddie may play as many as three
more years. Right, So let's say he does, you know,
and he you know again, he's already in the Hall
of Fame, but he passes all the milestones, you know,
three thousand hits, the whole she bank. Does he go
into the Hall of Fame with a Braves cap or
a Dodgers cap.

I think he'll have a choice.

I think he will have played long enough with the
Dodgers where the Hall of Fame they don't. Sometimes they
decide for the guys like you just played way too much.

My favorite was Dave Winfield, who hated.

The Yankees even though he played longer with the Yankees,
and he wanted as a padre by his own choice,
and they allowed him to do that. But Freddy will
literally have a choice to either go in as a
Brave or as a Dodger.

Yeah, And I think wasn't it was it Andre Dawson
who had to fight to get the Expo's hat off
his because he was spent most of his time with Montreal,
and I think he didn't want that to happen or whatnot.
I would say, when you think about Freddie Freeman's career,
you're going to think more about the Dodgers because the
moments were on a bigger stage. I agree, Like we look,

we've talked about, you know, the Dodgers Yankees, that rivalry.
Nobody benefited more from that series a couple of years
ago than Freddy Freeman. That moment that he had playing
banged up in that situation, he was just tremendous.

And he's such a good dude as well.

And so I think that it's interesting because the thought was, hey,
he's getting older, we've got to move on, we need
to go in a different direction. But he's got the
style of play to where he's gonna age gracefully. I
don't see him being somebody that you look at and go, man,
the last two years are real rough, like he like

his style of play. He's so smooth and the way
he does it and that swing just feels like you
can replicate that later in your career. People wonder, man,
when Steph Curry gets older, what's it gonna look like?

Probably like this. You can still hit a jump shot
if you're Steph Curry. Well, you don't have the same
war and tear att first base. Let's face it, you
just don't. I mean, we see Mookie, you know who
I think physically is feeling the effects of all the
different position moves that he's had over the last couple
of years. Plus he's not a physically imposing guy. You know,
Mookie's another obviously a first ballot.

Hall of Famer.

But and plus when you're you know, bowling, you know,
six nights a week, I mean, that's.

A weird ding, you know what I mean, maybe he
needs to cut back, and I agree with you, you know,

the iron Horse.

The guy's out there and he's just gonna he's gonna,
you know, play forever as long as he wants to play.

Freeman as long as he wants to play.

Because the initial thought would be, all right, if Freddie Freeman,

to I know, Dylan Hernandez you know, talked about, hey,
you know, get a two year extension done. Get it
done before the end of the season. He wants to
retire a Dodger. It makes all the sense in the world,
I get it. But if Otani wasn't here, you could

just say, you know, make Freddy your DH because you've
got to find a spot for a Will Smith, Dalton
Rushing whoever the hell knows what's going on there. That
seems like it's a you know, a chaotic experience all
the way through. And so I wonder, well, what do
you do with Will Smith? Like where does where does
that end up? Because he can't catch forever and Freddie Freeman,

and then you make Will Smith that it just feels
like it's a good problem to have, But I just
think it's not as easy of a decision maybe as
some people I think.

about getting the bobblehead. There are stadium giveaways that happen

I was filling in, uh for Rogan and Rodney, and
David Vasse called in because he was getting to the
stadium like around one o'clock. He can't seem like around
the same time for your typical seven to ten start time.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
A line was already formed. It's probably like seven, and
people were eating their meals in their car.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
They had packed pre made meals so they could get
in and get their hands on these bobbleheads. And then
there was a couple of them like, hey, listen, just
so everybody knows, you're all gonna get one if you
have a ticket, right, it's not limited to the first
foes like it used to be back in the day.
And they still had to be there, like they had
to get their hands on it, which just tells you
the popularity of the Dodgers in this town and also
(27:48):
that people got a thing for bobbleheads.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Listened, not my thing.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
This one's awesome, but September six, get your hands on
the catch bobblehead.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
You know, it wasn't that long ago for the current
ownership group changed the whole dynamic of the Dodger organization
of the Frank McCourt days. I remember I was covering
quite a bit of baseball at those days, you know,
out of Dodger Stadium quite a bit. And there were games.
I remember Kevin Kennedy, a good friend of mine. We
would sit there in the press box, plenty of seats available.
(28:19):
I mean there were games there was like fifteen thousand.
Oh yeah, I mean would they would announce you know,
thirty thousand because it was like tickets sold.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
But I would sit there with KK and I'm like,
how many actual bodies are in this ball? Do you remember?
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Back when they wouldn't open up both outfield leachers. There
would be one or the other, and sometimes there wouldn't
be any I was watching an old Darryl Strawberry clip
a little while back because I had no life, and
I was watching this old Strawberry clip when he got
to the Dodgers and he hit a tank in the
right field and there was nobody there, And I just
I wish that people that go to games now understood
(28:54):
that it wasn't always like this.

I wasn't that long years, like really lean years to work.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
There wasn't.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
The Dodgers were terrible. They didn't make the playoffs a
few of those years under the court. But you just
really there was no fan experience.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
There was nothing when it was.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Just wasn't there a thing where if you went to
Ralph's or it might have been God, it might have
been Alpha Beta the country where it would like if
you bought a certain like you would get fifty percent
off Dodger tickets or something like that or something like
I Sparat of God.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
That was a real thing.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
And now people are standing in line to get a
key k Hernandez getting run over.
Speaker 3 (29:29):

has changed with this stuff. And you're a member Bill
a guy, I'm surprised you don't want to get your hands.

About it was when I when my my kids were
young and I'm covering Super Bowl stuff like that, my
wife would just insist, like go and get something. You're there,
so I have, like a I was able to get
an autographic Joe Montana football or you know what you
do stuff like that. I'm glad I did in retrospect
to have all that kind of stuff, But I'm not
I'm not a huge collector.

I incur courtesy of Costco. Costco is one of those

places where you know you're drawn into Costco.

It's a visual overload.

In fact, I was there today my oldest son for
some reason, he has a Costco card.

I don't so I need him.

I had to pick up a prescription today and immediately
after we left, he said, no, no, I got I
got to get two dogs.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Two dogs. I mean that's still a great buy. It's
still the dogs. The pizza are are a great buy.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Yeah, okay, I mean sure, like if you need to look,
I had a recent Costco experience. I don't want to
you know, I don't want to throw you off track
on where you're going here, but I had a recent
Costco experience and it gave me anxiety, Like just the
whole situation.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Game is a sense of this what happened?
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Well, so I got we got gift cards for Christmas,
and I just got around the using them within the
last about three weeks. And so we got gift cards
for Christmas. And you walk in there and even with
the gift cards we've got and it was a very
nice gift and it was awesome, still had to come
out of pocket. I just it's never like never enough.
(32:57):
And so you go down these aisles, it's like, oh,
we'll get some of those. Well you realize that's going
to expire, so are we going to be able to
eat that in time? There's literally my wife and my
five year old son. It's not like we're feeding.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
You know, people will like I have two boys, you
know that close to name everything.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
So I just you end up going down aisle after
aisle after aisle after aisle, and as well, we got to.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Grab something from here and grab something from there and
grab something to where if you go.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
To a standard supermarket like a Ralph's or someplace like that,
you kind of know where to navigate, where to go
what you need, but it just sort of to your point,
sucks you in to where you walk through and you're
overtaken by it all and it's almost like Vegas.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
It's like the Vegas of supermarkets to where you're you're.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Drinking and eating stuff you would never eat or drink
or even think about getting in a normal situation, but
there's something about that place that makes you do it.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
And you end up coming out of pocketing.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
So give cars so you don't feel like with the
three of you, like you would get a packet of
fifty chicken breast Like that doesn't make it love.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
It doesn't make a whole sense. We're not or one
hundred Hamburger patties.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yeah, no, that doesn't make sense. We don't need you know,
the twenty four pack of bagels. They're just gonna expire,
like that's what you got to look at the burn
on date. And we ended up having to like get
rid of some of this stuff because it just we
couldn't eat.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
It all in time. What about the Kirkwood brand? Come on,
how many Kirkwood shirts do you have? Sorry?
Speaker 4 (34:24):
And there's also sort of by the way, they got
good deals on T shirts.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
I know you're a T shirt guy. I look and
I believe it. Here's what else I believe.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Whenever I go in there, you kind of get this
look to where I didn't have a Costco membership. I
just said I have a gift card, and there was
kind of just like, oh, yeah, you can come in.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
By the way, you still have to pay cash or
atm they do not take correct.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
And you know, the one we go to in Westlake.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
It's like, hey man, it's already depressing enough here there's
Pierce Brothers Cemetery right behind you.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Guys, Like, can we like lighten the mood a little
bit today?
Speaker 3 (34:55):
But you know, good news, Steve, if you, if your
son is a fan of getting the two dolls, he
can pair some chicken tenders with those, all.

Right, they were all stacked up.

Oh yeah, so chicken tenders are now a go to
at Costco. That that's a real, real option for anybody
that's interested.

So I take it you've been there with your five
year old son.

I have, yes, but we weren't there when the chicken
tenders were available.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Apparently, is he's a chicken tender kid? Most kids are.

Yeah, of course, I'm still a chicken tender guy, Like
chicken tenders are one of the most are the the easiest.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Ranch or ketchup? I go barbecue, barbecue.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Yeah, I'm not a ranch not a bad I'm not
a ranch guy, and I and I rarely would go
ketch up with it, but I would go barbecue or
buffalo sauce or even a honey mustard. From time to
time I might go that direction. But at least, you know,
they're kind of opening things up. I think a lot
of people were like your son, they just get the
hot dog or they get the slice of pizza. But
(35:55):
apparently this is now a new thing. So if next
time you go to Acha's, like.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Everything it's like a buck fifty, I mean it's like
something like that. Yeah, did you have a price on that?
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Because I saw them when I was honestly, as I
was standing here this morning.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
By the way, they did have the welcome back Jonas
Knox signs. They're anticipating your return. It's and I got
news for you. I won't see those, so that did
not to worry here. But I did see in the
window just that stack of those.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
You know, really golden crispy chicken.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
So the so the details on this, yeah, five piece
breaded chicken, breast strips, baked, not fried, and come with
a sweet honey mustard dipping sauce.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
So there is there is something to kind of wet
your whistle a little bit. I think I would do
that next.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Now they are pointing out here this occurred according to
KTLA dot com. They're pointing out the meal will set
you back about sixteen hundred and forty calories per set,
so if it's.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
A cheat day.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
And by the ways, so of course always you tell
what I think of those two giant hot dogs, you know,
the sodium intake. That's always the thing about Joey Chessnut.
You know, we talk about how many calories that guy can.
Soon forget the calories the sodium intake. When you're dialating
fifty to seventy hot dogs, it's beyond belief.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
And now six ninety nine it'll set you back six
for five of those those are giant strips, giant strips,
and that's the one thing I will give them. You
can't go to a fast food place anywhere in town.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
You could.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
You used to be able to go to a Carls
Junior and you could get a famous star for ninety
nine cents, right for like six bucks an hour.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Well you know why, because they have to pay the workers.
You know what is it, twenty five dollars an hour?
Whatever it is it used to be. I can remember
I've told this story before. Not a proud moment.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
But when you grow up poor, all right, you gotta
make ends meet.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
You got to you gotta get crafty and creative so
McDonald's used to have this thing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
They would have on Tuesday's twenty nine cent Hamburgers. On
Thursdays thirty nine cent cheeseburger.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
Now you're talking.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
So my mom would send me, my little brother and
my nephew in because there was a ten max limit
on how many year by, we'd have to get in
three different lines and then go out the exit at
different time so they didn't see us all getting into
the same car.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
And whatever we didn't eat that night, we would put
in the freezer.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
In the freezer so then we can thought out over
the next couple of days.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
See, let me taste something, man.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Okay, that's cool. Okay, you know, I believe me. I
didn't have a lot of money growing up either. But
I'm not freezing McDonald's.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Let me let me tell you something, man. It's a
little bit lean off the twenty three freeway. You don't
know that world like we do.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Yeah, so yeah, there was a twenty nine thirty nine,
but it's non existent now.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
It doesn't matter where you go. The prices are except
at Costco. So I will give Costco that. It's just
the anxiety.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
It gives me when you walk in there and you're
bombarded with the biggest things, TVs.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Waters media have TVs every day. I have to yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's the first thing your eyeballs said.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Eye.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
And then there's that dismissive tone to where they look
at you because you don't have a Costco membership.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
It's just a gift card. It's kind of rude. I
think those are your Westlake people.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
You need to now that you have your beautiful family,
Come on now, get the Costco card.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Okay, I don't know. Yeah, let's I don't know. I
gotta have a conversation. It's it's a real, real conversation.
There's something about the you get like an extra membership
for your wife, even your kid. He could walk into
the Costco, but he doesn't need that.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
He's already bad with this money and he's five years old.
So I don't think it's necessary.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
But look, hey, so for those of you that are
that are into the chicken tender craze six ninety nine,
go get yourself a back and only seventeen hundred calories
preserve and a.

Very low sodium diet as well. If you need that.

Yes, in my stage, I try to cut back on
that as best as I can. Hey, you know, coming
up on the next we got a very busy hour
