(01:53):
big thank you to Ronnie and Kates. They had to sift through a protest,
a local protest to get to worktoday. There was so much social
unrest that Matt and I stayed home. How people wait to sign We just
talked about the Korean protest, likewe have. We had not seen a
protest since the Koreans were protesting Johnand kav three four years ago. Oh

(02:15):
with like thirteen years ago, Imean, and yet here we are today
four years with the RFK protest, that RFK Debate protests CNN. They knew
that the CNN building is not wheretheir executives are. The CNN building down
on Sunset that's across from the oldAmba music no longer there, not far

(02:37):
from your Rby's no longer there, but they knew the CNN execs were over
there by the Warner Brothers building, and they were on the one thirty four
hanging their puzzas all over. Aren'treally excited. Kate's felt like he was
in the the you know, HubertUmphrey versus Nixon in Miami for the convention,
you know, taking part in theriots. You were pretty riled up,

(02:59):
were well. I got a tipfrom a law enforcement source that said,
hey, there's a protest by yourwork, and so when I got
to work, I frantically drove aroundthe building until I found it, which
happens to be on our side street, right across from the old NBC studios
now studios that they rent out in. CNN is moving into there, and
the protests, like one hundred, one hundred and fifty, one hundred and

(03:20):
seventy five people were out there protestingCNN saying let rfk Junior in the debate.
So they were saying more voices, more choices. There was even a
guy downstairs New Orleans style with aBenson umbrella and a little secret wow fancy
hat out there. That's a goodmove, I'd say, hey, stand
out. You know, amongst theone hundred and fifty protesters, what's your

(03:43):
angle dance that'd be? You know, I mean maybe maybe a show up
with those those graphics that Ross Perotrolled in with in nineteen ninety two.
I mean, who cares about whatBush and Clinton got to say it,
Give me Ross Perow and his fancyground. It was a friendly protest.
They were out there just having agood time. Yeah, hey, I
have a friendly protest, you know, we enjoying that. Not like UCLA
with the flying high kicks through theroof. None of that stuff happened.

(04:05):
It just friendly people expressing their desireto have a third candidate. That's it.
Okay, what how would you describeyour honking style because it's easy to
to, you know, feel like, oh, he's trying to drown us
out like that? Was it?Like it was? And it was a
hawk of support, just like aquick well. I went by, I

(04:28):
did a double drive by. Iwent past it, and then you went
up to the roof where you liketo see the car chase. I did
that third. Yes, I wentup to the roof. Third, but
I drove by it one way andwas honking, and I had my left
fist out of the driver's side doorwindow, and I was pumping my fist
to the more choices, more voiceschant. And then I went down by
the freeway and I did an illegalturn, which I'm cool with because I

(04:51):
got law enforcement friends and whatever. And I just turned around illegally, came
back, chatted up with some ofmy law enforcement friends, and parked underneath
the parking store. As as Iwas doing it, I was honking and
pumping my fists. Meet me,I do regard. I do remember you
behaving similarly with the Korean protesters thatother time that they were out there.

(05:14):
Those people were blocking the entrance. These friendly people out here were letting you
go in and out of the youknow, exit of the underground parking struck
that they weren't trying to blow orangepaint all over stone. No, no,
no, friend, they have theylifted our statute to limitations on talking
about the custodial protest at our buildingthat we were not allowed to talk about,

(05:36):
because that I think I just amrecalling that that is are technically our
most recent protest. Just show themall our bones, just show them all
our bond remember that one give themall our records social Security. Talk about
it. Hey, Jesus, listen, the janitors are out there, they're
protesting. I want you to say, in a damn word, you got

(05:58):
it. Why do you always doit, Matt? You always walk us
off with Clint? What is thatin your hand? Matt? Is that
there is that? Their BS communistliterature? They're propaganda. Get in the
garbage? Are you? Are youon their pamphlet mailing Lis. I can't
remember if it was us or whoI think we. I think of course
it was us. We mentioned itand he's like, hey, don't be

(06:18):
talking about that, now, shutsomething. We are not to talk about
that, all right. Call camedown from up. Huh, we are
not to talk about it. Idon't know if the Statute of Limitations is
up. I don't remember when,Matt. I remember it, but I
don't remember when. It was awhile ago. But why the janitors were
mad. We're a very good relationshipwith all the custodial artists absolutely all around.

(06:44):
So you guys really missed it though. It was a good protest out
here, friendly people chanting. Youknow. I was on my way up
there, and when I heard aboutit, I decided not to go.
I called Conway because he lives inthe San Fernando Valley, you know,
which somewhat close to our studio.Sir, and I said, hey,
there's a protest outside our building. You need to check it out. He

(07:05):
goes, ding dong. I'm onmy way. You know, it's not
just protest day over the one thirtyfour, it's also a frog Man Friday.
Right here. There is one knowsnot what sweet mystery about this sea

(07:29):
who's gently awful stirrings seemed to speakof some hidden soul beneath. On The
Petersen Money Show on a Friday,we celebrated as Frogman Friday, and we
do so to celebrate lifeguards and coastguardsand the people of the sea, the

(07:49):
fishermen, the surfers, kiteboarders, spongers. We also celebrate the great Mike
Nelson, known as one of thegreatest undersea mercenaries of all time, and
a fabulous television show Lloyd Bridges andSea Hunt. I don't, Mike,

(08:13):
that's where you found the manganese AndI think so, but goet them in
the sharks here. Oh, andI can always tell when I'm getting a
little too curious. You have beenin the water with the sharks before.
I like the times so far, those skies so far, in those scars,

(08:33):
Todd lights thirteen to five. Whatare you nuts? We still got
to take that Florida man. Youknow what that's like these days? You
got the Navy everywhere, you gotfrogmen, you got the EC twos with
the satellite tracking, you got thebell two nine as salt choppers up the
ass. We're losing one out ofevery nine loads. That's no dunk walk

(08:56):
anymore. Let me tell you, forget about money. What do you suggest
that's reasonable? Hate a rule everybody? Come on, Peter Champer trapper there

(09:58):
and Matt. That brings us toour next point of Vic the brick,
the fiery furnace of a launch padwith Vic and Izzy yesterday is still resonating
with the listeners. Vic came outswinging like like ugly kid Joe. I
mean, he was just really gettingafter it, you know what I'm saying,
Matt. She brought it to Ah, she was gigly and and yeah

(10:22):
it was. It was the bestlaunch pad yet. I think it was.
It was the best launch pad yet. And Tim Kates got very frustrated
today when he saw that they hadridden Vic like a mule, like an
old, flea bitten mule on ahillside for thirty six minutes, and we

(10:46):
kind of came to the realization that, I mean, we know this,
but Vic is so worn out whenhe gets to us yesterday there was no
Rogan in Rodney, and Vic cameout like I mean, he was like
sugar Ray Robinson. And if wehad Vic gon today, makers Ray makers

(11:07):
from Vic to brick. And ifwe had Vic on today, I don't
think we'd get the same kind ofexuberant performance, nice sound for like forty
minutes on a telephone. He's deadnow. I have a text here that
was sent among many Matt I wasreading you during the break and the prep
zone there and this is on thesecret brought to you by your so called

(11:31):
Toyota dealers. We make it easy. Pete. Please know Victor Jacobs today.
Here's a rundown of what you're gonnaget and this is long. It
says Rajon Rondo or Rondo co coach, Chris Paul coming co coach. Yeah,
Trey Young Caruso is a white guywho works hard. Josh Giddy is

(11:56):
a bust parentheses He's twenty oh TonySono, Tony Sono, Tony son Cavin
Stone to be an MVP candidate. And then the guy wrote in a very
Tim Kates like fashion. Maybe thiswas from the Kate's burner phone. Huh
huh, whatever Tim Kates does, the big the big all caps. Huh.

(12:22):
You know something's wrong, And Iguess. Vick went in a complete
opposite direction of his skepticism of yesterday. He explained to the audience, it's
possible, no spine. Instead, just played to the audience, Just blow
with the wind, just just playto the audience. By the way,
I did have my head I forgotto mention this. I did have my

(12:43):
head on a swivel on Wednesday nightmaking sure Elliot Gould wasn't gonna stab me
in the neck from behind. Yeah. In your Father's show a lot of
I got asked a couple he wasn'tthere. He wasn't there, Okay,
Rod mc neil was there, butno Gould was. He supposed to show
up and didn't show up. Idon't know. Wait to go, guys,

(13:07):
we have this one up. Ourpresence drove him away. No,
No, I don't think I thinkElliott was happy with the reconciliation with Vic.
I believe he was happy at thatpoint. I think if Vic is
happy, Elliott Gould is happy. And I think Vic was unhappy and he
called Elliott Gould and Gould let itbe known that he was going to come

(13:30):
down on his hard with Ray Donovanor something. If we if we,
if we didn't fix what Vic is, uh, it fix our attitude towards
Vic's inane talking. We are aprotest show. We've known this for many

(13:50):
years, and not everybody likes whenwe flex our protest muscles. Matt and
Vic writes propaganda songs. Okay,so he does. Why are people upset?
Petros? Nobody was out protesting. We observed other people protesting, which
they have their right to do.Well. People are saying, like Tim
Kates only likes it with a certainkind of people, with a certain kind

(14:11):
of hair color, not green orpurple. He only likes it with those
people protest. No, I likeit because it's thirty five feet outside of
our door. That's why, notthirty five miles away. I mean,
what do I care? Then?Well, a ch'ama manor you know,
they have that terrible stuff going on. Kate's and you didn't go over there
and use your phone and go upto the roof and take a bunch of

(14:33):
pictures. You didn't do anything.Well, they're out and they asked us
to stay away from there. Petrosling, I let the police take care of
it. I would have liked tosee you on k COW with Pat Harvey
giving her a little bit of anupdate on what was going on. Do
you feel like you missed she's losther fastball? Do you feel, Matt,

(14:54):
like you really missed out not goingup to work today and seeing that
the election protest? I do becauseI like you, like the Petros and
Money show and its entirety. Iappreciate a peaceful protest. I appreciate the
right to protest. I appreciate livingin a country that values free speech and
the protest as opposed to the canceledcancel culture that is far too prevalent on

(15:18):
both sides of the current two partysystem that I find to be an insult
to our civic intelligence. And yes, I would like to see r FK
and that crazy gravelly voice up onstage with those two old, doddering,
absent minded fools. You're salad. They could make very swol it would be

(15:46):
fantastic. This text says Kate's whitepretentiousness breaking laws, Well, he tells
the rest of us to obey orpay. That's just so rich. Who
says so so godly of red asscould stop Kates? Is classic? And
then he ends it with Judas outof here. I will say, Kate's

(16:07):
when you described the events as theyoccurred, uh, in a rundown fashion,
I was like, that's interesting. He decides to share with everybody that,
Yeah, I just I flipped thebitch in the middle of Burbank,
known to be home to the mostchicken ass tickets for moving violations of any
city in the Greater LA area. And not only did you commit a moving

(16:32):
violation, but you did it inplain side of some officers that you went
up to and just started chopping itup with. Well, nobody saw me,
man, I was in nobody's sitefor them to see. That's clearly
why I did it, says Kate'sloves it. When the normal binary,
natural hair color white people protest,ah, yeah, Kate, You're racist.

(16:52):
There was all people outside, Okay, was Kate's yelling America, love
it or leave it? From therooftop the freeways right there. It's too
loud. My voice have been drownedout. It wasn't too loud when you
got that freeway. Uh chase hisattention from up there and the cops and
the criminal went by, and youwere like, ah, like they were
doing a wave. We're ever gonnalet that go? Nope, No,

(17:19):
because it was awesome. Anything elseto him about the protest. No,
I'm gonna just keep my mouth shutfrom now. Hell with the text,
ohso I like you flipping a bitchin Burbank and rolling the dice. They
might impound your car and throw youaway for six months for doing something like

(17:40):
that. I supported both times through. I was honking my horn and support.
No, it was not that horn. My love the Mexican har har,
I just love. We are suchsad, lonely people that leather's like
an a seventy person protest and we'rebeyond excited about all right, We've had

(18:10):
our political stumping for the day.Because there was a big protest outside.
We're gonna move on. It wasso big there was no news coverage of
it here. Well, TV wasbecause it goes against their narrative, tim
it goes against their global narrative, don't you know. You know I did
see Blake from KFI, one ofthe reporters out there talking to people.

(18:33):
So maybe Conway will play some audiolater on an his show. Yeah,
it's right and there, it's rightin their freaking wheelhouse south the window they
can It's pretty lazy. I mean, was there too. ABC Like five
stations are within like two miles. It's pretty lazy not to cover it.
I mean, if there's a weatherstory, they all just go right outside
of the station and just turn thecamera around and go, yeah, look
at the sky, it's raining. There's a reason you see the La River

(18:56):
on every single rain coverage because everynews station in La is on the La
River or very close to it.I hope that it gets the proper coverage
in the local news that it deserves. Was the Korean John and Ken protest
covered in the local news? Idon't remember. I just remember not being

(19:18):
able to pull into the parking structure. It really took me off. Was
the custodial protest, Matt where yousat there and did at Kelly Stafford and
showed our bare bones to everybody?Yeah, well I remember they were They
were very peaceful, but they wereat our entrance and they were they were
handing out propaganda literature. Was thatlocally covered? I'm well, I think

(19:38):
it was until as far as ourcoverage of it was shut down by the
higher ups. And I do distinctlyremember Tim Kats being very unhappy with the
SAG after it protests or the actthe Screen Actors Guild people, yeah,
and saying how smelly they were andhow they were clogging up the lines of
the doghouse at Whole Foods, atAll Foods, Yeah, and making it

(20:03):
really hard to get past point thevista. Heard shower, I mean,
take a shower. You're not evenworking. It was hot, outsize,
like, come on, double whammydude. Tom McLane will join us next.
He's got his natural hair color.Remember Hur's a week from today now,

(20:26):
our second stop of the twenty twentyfour Petros and Money Summer Tour.
It's gonna be at Brewery X inAnaheim, right off the ninety one freeway
at Glassel the address thirty one ninetyone East La Palma Avenue. Obviously,
most of you are gonna get thereby a GPS. Just put that Brewery
X into your GPS of preference andfind us there from three to six one

(20:48):
week from today, perhaps become oursecond finalist that qualifies to win eleven grand
at the end of it all.Every single time he comes on our show,
it's like when Jimmy Chitwood stood upin the town meeting and said,
I don't know if it'll make anychange, but I figured it's about time
I start playing ball. He isthe great Don McClain and there's a statue

(21:10):
of him in Lemon Park in hishometown of Semi Valley. He is the
leading scorer in the history of UCLAin the Pac twelve. Putting in a
lot of work with the draft rightnow with c AA, and he's out
in Arizona with Trent. His youngestis a big baller at some basketball tournament

(21:32):
where everybody who's anybody in the worldof hoops is there joining us on your
Southern California to you the Dealer CelebrityHotline. It is the snake Killer.
The next ass he kisses will bethe first. It's Don McClain. Hello,
Don, how's going guys. Weare at Section seven here in Glendale
at the Arizona Cardinals State Farm Stadium, and it is one hundred and thirteen

(21:56):
degrees outside. Yes, so ManLancers just took a one point l So
that doesn't make the one thirteen onceyou get outside any better. No,
it makes it like it feels likeone fifteen. It's terrible. Two decrease.
Honor when you lose U Don it'salways great to have you on.

(22:18):
But a crazy week in basketball,I guess the inevitable has happened. JJ
Reddick has been hired as the Lakershead coach. We had that weird little
diversion with Dan Hurley, and nowJJ Reddick is going to be the guy
and we're going to spend a summertimetalking about it and his staff and what
it all means. Uh. Hasyour opinion about it changed or shaped in

(22:41):
the last few days. No.But the one thing that I thought about
when it was I guess formally announced. The one thing I thought about is
JJ Reddick seems like a smart guy. He really does, not just in
terms of what he says on TVx's and oh stuff, but just you
know, I covered him when hewas with the Clippers, and he seems
like a thought full, you know, guy that you know, knows what

(23:03):
he's doing. And I don't thinkhe would just take this job if he
didn't think he couldn't do it.You know what I'm saying, Like he's
got enough money, like maybe whatcertain guys would be like, well,
whatever, however many millions a year, I'll give it a go and see
if it works. I don't thinkhe would do it unless he really thought
he could do it. Now,that doesn't mean he can do it.
But I guess my point is thatI don't think that people look at it

(23:26):
as oh, they're just taking arip at this former player, and like,
no, I don't view it likethat. I view it that this
guy seems to be very intelligent, very intelligent about basketball, and at this
point in his life, why wouldhe try something that if he didn't really
think he could get the job done. But I guess we're gonna find out.
I'm with you one hundred percent.Don I think he absolutely thinks he

(23:48):
can do it. I think hecarries and I'm asking not to insult him,
but to ask you if you thinkthis is a good quality. I
think he carries himself with an arrogancethat he's always the smartest guy in the
room, that he knows more aboutbasketball than anyone else. Do you think
does that bode well? Is thatsomething that maybe could be viewed as a
positive on a Lebron James team whereI don't want to hear what you have

(24:10):
to say, this is what I'msaying, and this is how we're going
to win the game. Is thatmaybe a positive for him? One thousand
percent, Matt and having been inthat league and been around that league for
a long time, if you're notconfident in your ability, and it could
be a rational confidence too, bythe way, if you're not that,
you have no chance of succeeding. But again, what I said last week,

(24:30):
it's going to come down to doeshe get their respect to Lebron and
Ad because if he does, thatwill trickle down to the rest of the
players. And if he can managethat locker room and start to build a
culture around those two, then he'shalfway home. And to your point,
I think part of that has tobe that he walks in that room saying,
look, guys, this is howit's going to be. Not Hey,

(24:52):
what do you guys think we shoulddo or any of that. It's
like, this is what we're doingand you have to trust me. And
if follow him, they're probably goingto have more success than they've had.
You. Look, you you've donethe Clipper games forever, you've been around
JJ don a lot of people, you know, seeing his praises about how
smart of a player he is,that he wasn't just some guy that ran

(25:15):
around and shot three pointers, butreally knows the game, thinks the game,
what like how what was your exAnd then I think there's the personality
side of it too, that healso rubs a lot of guys the wrong
way with the brash personality. Whatwas your experience like with JJ? Well,
one thing about him, and thisis why I think also that that
there's a very good chance he's goingto succeed. I remember his introductory press

(25:36):
conference. We did it on TV, and I forget what the actual question
was, but it was about hisoff season and his answer was, every
minute of my off season is downto the minute like he planned his.
He plans his entire offseason with focus, with intensity, and with you know,
direction, and so there is thereis there isn't going to be where

(26:02):
He's not prepared for that either, like understanding what he wants to implement,
what kind of offense he wants torun. I'm sure he's thought about what
he wants to do with Lebron inad and everyone else, and then it
just comes down to the details inthe execution of the details. And so
I think all what we've said inthe last couple of minutes here to me
adds up that he's got a verygood chance of succeeding. But you never

(26:23):
know until you do it. Themedia shapes our stories and our history and
our rivalries. The Lakers Celtics rivalryis the biggest one in hoops. Celtics
just win a title. The Lakersdo this. Celtics have the culture they
have and the consistency. Obviously that's, you know, something Lakers are still

(26:45):
working on. How do you putthose two things up against each other,
because it's inevitable that people do.Yeah, I think, But I think
this two p in all of sports, especially professional sports at all, cycles
based on age, based on contracts, based on a lot of things.

(27:06):
And it just seems like the BostonCeltics cycle is happening now and the Lakers
hasn't. But a big part ofthat cycle has to do it who you
have on the roster, who yourcoach is, and all that stuff.
And I just think the fact thatthe Lakers have changed coaches so many times,
there hasn't been any building. It'salmost been like trying to put the
best players together and hopefully we win. And I have a feeling that Reddick's

(27:30):
going to go in there and belike, look, we have to create
a foundation of what we do andwhat we're going to stand on, whether
it's defense, whether it's offensive execution, whatever it is, and then you
can start to build. And that'swhat builds consistency. You know, you
can't just pass teams together, andthat's why you know, college basketball is
so difficult now. All these teamsare trying to win with seven eight new

(27:51):
guys on the roster every year. But if you have a foundation of doing
things, of how you do things, that I think you can start to
build and get out of the cyclethat's been down for a while. But
I don't really put much into theCeltics are up and the Lakers are down
now, as much as we'd liketo see him both be up, because
when they are it's really good theater. Well, you mentioned Lebron don and

(28:15):
just if you can get Lebron andAd, then you're halfway home is there.
Look, we know he's got Lebron, right, Lebron reached out to
him and said, let's do apodcast together. So you know the fact
that the guy that's willing to dothat, we know he's he's obviously in
the pro JJ camp, but there'syou know, he's he's got a public
basketball life because he's got to buildcontent. And part of that content is

(28:36):
that he made his All NBA teamballots public and he left Anthony Davis off
of them, and he left AnthonyDavis off the All Defensive team despite the
guy finishing top three and Defensive Playerof the Year voting across the league.
Does that and he was very criticalof Lebron's supporting cast throughout the course of
the season in the playoffs, doesthat stuff carry out, Like how much

(28:56):
of a carryover is that it's like, great, this guy's all Lebron and
we all suck when we can't win. Does that have a negative effector now?
Because I think it goes back towhat we were talking about earlier.
I think JJ Reddick has the confidenceto sit down with Ad and be like,
here's why I did that. Youcan do whatever you want as long
as you have a reason for it. I tell my coaches with our youth

(29:18):
club all the time, you cando whatever you want coach in the game,
but if the parents come and askyou why you did things, you
better have an answer. And Ithink that's the same with Reddick with this
like this is why I didn't votefor you on the All Defensive team,
or why I didn't vote for youon whatever. As long as you have
a reason, I think Anthony Davisor any other player would respect that.
But if you're just doing it becauseyou don't like him, or you think

(29:41):
he's been hurt too much or whatever, then then that's wrong and he probably
won't buy it. But I havea feeling that Reddick, with his demeanor
and his thoughtfulness, can sit outwith Anthony Davis and hash it out red
hot in the shade. The GreatDon McClain joining us right now live from
Arizona talking hoops, And I guessthe big question is, and you know

(30:06):
a lot of guys that play andplayed and get into coaching, and there's
all kinds of different routes to doit. If you had to guess right
now, a gun to your head, as you say, And maybe I
don't know you don't have to,But do you think JJ is going to
be like Steve Nash in Brooklyn orSteve Kerr at Golden State? I think,

(30:30):
yeah, that's a good one ifI'd be guessed right now, not
knowing anything. He's never coached before. I haven't spent enough time around him
to really know. I have afeeling it's going to be more Steve Kerr
than Steve Nash. Yeah, Ihave a feeling nuts what the Lakers are
kind of banking on, But youjust don't know. You don't know until

(30:52):
you see it and you see whatit looks like. And I'm not even
like when the season starts next year, I'm not even going to be concerned
about the I want to see whatit looks like because you can tell when
players and teams are bought in andthey're into it and they want to play
and they're not getting blown out byforty that they're in games. And so
I think we'll find out pretty earlyin terms of the buy in to JJ

(31:18):
Reddick. Last thing don shift overto the Clippers, because that's the other
big story out there now, isthat Paul George might be sniffing around that
maybe he's not into the idea ofgoing back to the Clippers, and there's
rumors about the contract. They don'twant to give him four years. They're
only going to give him three. They want to give them the same deal
they gave Kawhi perhaps, and thatother teams might be willing to give him

(31:41):
that fourth and as much money asthe Clippers are willing to give him,
he may just take the cash.Your thoughts on Paul George and if in
fact he leaves, what that meansfor the Clippers moving forward, well,
it would certainly not be good andgoing into a new building. And again
I go back to what I've saidfor the last five months is what I
saw from December to February one withJames Harden. And I don't know anything

(32:02):
about the negotiations or money or salarycap or anything, but I have a
feeling it has to do with tryingto keep Harden too, And so I
think that becomes a little bit ofsacrifice on probably James Harden's side and Paul
George's side to keep that whole corpstogether. But you would think that knowing

(32:22):
what it looked like, and thatif Kawhi doesn't get hurt, they possibly
make a deep run in the playoffs, that you would do whatever it takes
to keep it together. So Ihope it does. I hope that they
can figure something out. But it'scertainly a little unusual, but that Paul
George is still unsigned right now aswe're heading into free agency. But again,

(32:44):
hopefully they get something done before welet you go. Don. And
if you see Don in Glendale,Arizona, he's got the phone to his
head. He really is talking tosomebody. He's talking to us. He's
not just trying to ignore you,but tot. I'll tell you what.
There's a lot of incoming bullets atthis thing, man, Yeah, I
bet there is. I want toshow you in a basketball guy in a

(33:07):
basketball tournament with five thousand fans onthe floor with twelve courts. Yeah,
it's like I'm weaving in out oftraffic on the four or five at five
o'clock. Yeah, but at leastyou know you can really duck under most
things, you know, with yourdiminutive build. Last thing, Don can
Jeff Van Gundy be a I mean, the Clippers seem to do all the

(33:28):
right things when it as far asbringing people in and everybody respects Tyler.
Who can Van Gundy be a realdifference maker for them in the role they've
hired him for. I do.I do think so, and I'm not
sure why I even think that, but when I saw that they hired him,
I'm like that, that's a reallygood hire, and I think,
just look, Tyler is a greatcoach. He's proven that, he's proven

(33:49):
that his adjustments x's and o's areone of the best coaches in the league.
But I don't think it hurts whenyou have a former coach with that
much experience and that much success thathas a different to me, like Ben
Gundy is pumping into it man, like he's each Tyloud does it a different
way. And I don't think it'sa bad thing to have a coach that's
a little bit fiery and getting afterguys, probably in practice a little bit.

(34:12):
So I think it's a really goodhire. Great stop, no nobody
better with Don McClane. Huge basketballnews despite the Celtics winning the championship,
Lakers hired JJ Reddick Jeff Van Gundylead assistant with the Clippers and what will
Paul George do moving forward? Andit's one hundred and fifteen out in Phoenix.

(34:32):
I won't be on next Friday ifI'm melt this weekend. Just so
you guys know, hey, youwill be excused. Does TL have another
game today? No, they gotten thirty tomorrow and then like four thirty
or something, So I'm not surewhat the plan is for the rest of
the day, but I'll tell youwhat it's not going to be is outside.

(34:53):
Well, the Phoenicians Don what we'venoticed in all our travels there and
perhaps you have, as the waythey like to cool down when it's this
hot is with a nice cigarette. They like to get outside and really smoke
a nice cigarette out there that reallycool themselves down. I was thinking about
going double fisted one cigarette, onecigar. Yeah, yes, even better,

(35:14):
that'll really cool you down. Maybea vape like a Harmonica holder vape.
I just really just smoke O twothree, yeah, and don't and
don't drink any water or anything.Just keep smoking. You'll look like a
local and no time you'll dry uplike a prune. The Great Don McLean,

(35:34):
there's nobody better. I have agreat week out there with your family,
Don, and we'll talk to yousoon. Stay cool, alright,
guys, have good weekend too.Another like smoking in the desert, Matt
for whatever reason, as you said, they like to dry out like a
piece of jerky. They love it, and smoking certainly helps the smoking plus

(35:55):
the sun certainly helps them. There'stwo things you want to do when you
well, you unless you want toworship Jesus in college like some people.
There's two real reasons, and Ithink that's a great reason. There's two
reasons people go to the desert inArizona. One is to dry out and
the other is to duck out. They don't want to be seen and they

(36:20):
want to dry up like a Idon't know, like a like a corpse
death thing. Can I do tohelp myself get there soon? Well?
You know, I mean I justthink old people like it, and we're
not that we're old, but we'renot that old, right, And old

(36:42):
people like it warmer, you know, they don't like the cold. And
you know, hence that's what Ialways think of when you know, Vince
Scully's hot box of a breast box. You know, he was like eighty
two years old up there and everybodyelse is sweating bullets, and Vin's got
his full suit on and he's coolas a cucumber. And I think they

(37:06):
just, you know, the elderlylike it. They like to get out
there and really drink. They do. You know, your bones get a
little chilly regardless of what the temperatureis. And when it's dry, you
feel like, hey, you knowwhat, they have a smoke, So
I'm gonna do go get me asmoke. Remember just sitting there at the
McFaddens and watching them dudes vape.Oh, vape, I mean the the

(37:29):
the curtain of steam. We'll beback by, like someone drop dry ice
into a bucket. What the hell? Hey man, I hit a vape
at that concert. Dude at thecamera obscure, Yeah, And I was

(37:50):
like, what little pen action. The best is you always have to ask
the question, you know, hey, do I hit the button? No?
Just suck Suck on that robot, dude, polish that pole. Pal.

(38:14):
I puffed so hard that like fiveNative American guys came up. Anyway,
we'll be back with more great sportstalk on I seventy la sports.
Don't smoke anybody, It's bad foryou. Less you live, unless you
live in the desert. David Vassewill join us in about forty five minutes.

(38:42):
Land and Knack gonna be on themound with all the injuries to the
Dodger pitching staff. Walker Buehler asDave Roberts, gave us a glimpse.
He's in fact on the il.Bobby Miller's back struggled a little bit in
that debut that return, I shouldsay, out there in Colorado gave up
five. So Landon not gonna geta shot at it here tonight and see
whether or not he sticks around.Stick around. Yeah, that was from

(39:07):
one of those d Yeah, letoff some steam off poll into the dude
and the steam from his dying bodyis flying out through the pole. And
well, Matt, we got asummer tour stop coming up Burry X a
week from today. Second stop.We look forward to seeing you there.

(39:30):
It's gonna be a heck of atime, and of course you can check
out all the details at a mFI seventy LA sports dot com. As
Matt was saying earlier, we reallyhad a great time last week at Point
of Park. This week we're justdoing the Angels game and the City Connect
uniforms tomorrow, and we'll have someflex alerts next week. But then we'll

(39:51):
get out to see the people.I got some textosos brought to you by
your Southern California Toyota dealer. PYou are so right about older people not
feeling the heat. When my brotherand I go to my mom's, it
is the surface of the sun inthere, and she says she's cold.
But God forbid for little dog startspanting. The house turns into an ice

(40:15):
stationed zebra. If that dog isuncomfortable, me and my brother be damned.
So true. People are really ventingsome of their problems thee there.
But I understand that. You know, I too, am often a shoed
by my in laws. Dog.I knew you guys were the robotic pole

(40:37):
smoking show of record. Well sodid we. When you're like us and
you know you've smoked so many poles, you really, you know, robot
whatever, it's just another pole.Yeah, don't care how it looks when
you've done that many radio intros. You've smoked so much pole. What do

(41:04):
great sports talk hosts do when itgets hot in LA? They smoked that
pole exactly right, Pete? Whatabout pole smoking? Is that? Okay?
Do you have to ask rhetorical question? Obviously I might be the only

(41:28):
person that's entertained by that, Idon't know by being one of the real
plumidors, but it really trusts moneysucking blood. It really gets me going.
I don't know why, Matt,we haven't played it in a while
either, the no our Ai song. I know your origin story of the
Yeah, well, Kate's has gotextra work today, so he might be.

(41:49):
He's probably out of the room.I can't find that song. By
the way, guys, would bea huge problem. Did you not pay
for the licensing? So AI tookit back? They may have gone into
our computer and taken it out there. I don't know how that works,
but I've I've been searching me,I've been searching pms AI song. I
can't find it. Well, justremember the day you did it, and
yes, I remember the day Idid it. Yeah, and then you're

(42:13):
just okay, so we not.We might not be able to find it
right now, but remember that youyou played it for my son the first
time. And Fletcher still comes upto me and he goes, Petros,
Matt sucking my son. My sonknows I smoked. You're supposed to tell

(42:34):
me be sitting in the car,Petros, You're like, hey, listen
to this and we're like bob inour hands of the song. Yeah,
it's not coming up in the computer. This isn't good. That's ridiculous.
That's okay, Well you can findwell, remember the day, remember your
prompts, and then input the sameprompts that led to the the AI songwriter

(42:58):
to pump that one out pm asssuck. Okay, No, that's not
popping up. All right, Welldang it, we'll just we'll go into
the mahina and get it later.Just remember who taught you to smoke pool
Anton says, I haven't seen thefumadores the patron team Kates has been eating

(43:31):
at the phenis. No, I'mnot actor. I've not been going there.
Heard you have, Dude, alot of people know around town that
you turn your back on dog Cucko. You've been hanging out with his Irish
enemy down the street. How was? I don't know what you're talking about.
Do they make the way you like? Is that just how AI worked?

(43:58):
They come into your computer and theytake back the song. Yeah,
dude, once you cross that bridge, now they own you. It's like
the mark of the beast. Youbetter read revelation and you're going down.
That's where you're going. Well,we'll be back and we're gonna do the
word, number and song, andwe're gonna do a flip. Top Story
