his pipes enjoy What is a hot day? Beautiful coast
to me? So we opened the doors a little late
because the beer delivery was late. For whatever reason, it
is hot. I know, I know the doors are open
a little late. People are still filing in. But come
on closer and be close with each other and be friends.
(02:14):
I would like to mention one thing. We did a
Toyota promotion on Instagram at Petterson Money or at.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
AM five seventy about the keys.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
I'm not exactly sure how the Toyota promotion works, but
I know it doesn't work if you come up to
me and wave your Toyota keys in my face, even
though we're brought to you by Toyota and your Toyota
dealers at Toyota SoCal on Instagram. You waving the keys
in my face does nothing to the what would you
call it the integrity of the promotion. What about tickets?
(02:47):
Can I get a raffle ticket from you there? Do
you have any raffle tickets? I don't have that either.
Oh okay, so I shouldn't ask you about that before
we get into everything The one thing that's most important
for all of you, I know, is the read in
your hearts and what you want. I mean, we support
that greed. You know, after you have a couple of
beers with respect the greed, you get a good ladder
(03:08):
going and you high five a couple people to take
some selfies, then maybe the greed is not as prevalent.
But you want stuff, and God knows we have yeah,
many things to give away and many people to introduce,
and a lot of time here under the hot sun.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
In beautiful coast to Mesa.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
We have been loaded up courtesy of Johnny and Dave Wess.
I have got the rundown here pee, and I do
believe each of you are going to be awfully excited
about what is available. Number one, we do not have
one but ten, wow, one hundred dollars gas cards. Hundred
(03:49):
bucks at the pump. Gas is expensive. That sucks, but
we got a hundred bucks for you. We have ten
of those right now, and we have talked about this
for the last two weeks. Our friends at speed Cash.
I see them in beautiful Kelly Green t shirts walking
around in the back. A huge thank you to our
friends at Speedy Cash. Because they green is the color
of money, are allowing us to give away nine one
(04:09):
hundred dollars speedy.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Cash cash cars.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Nine of those will be given away every single break
we take. We're giving away one hundred dollars of speedy cash.
On top of that, we have got ten, not one,
but ten. The only place you can win Dodger tickets
for the back to back World Series champion Dodgers is
right here on your home of the Dodgers am box
seventy LA Sports, and we have ten pair of Dodger
tickets versus the Giant.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I heard we are giving two pair to the band.
We only have eight. No, I'm kidding. The guys of
the band are going VIP. They're not going anywhere.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Actually, we have got ten pair of Dodger versus Giants
tickets on September twenty as you.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Get ready for the playoffs to.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Begin, so ten pair of those and then our singular
prize is courtesy of our friend from Westinghouse, a sixty
five inch Westinghouse four K Ultra HDTV will be given away.
Normally it's resting right here. I'm sure it's somewhere hiding.
You will go home with that if you have a
vehicle that is capable of transporting something so large of
(05:17):
a prize.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Thank you, Brett.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
We have a trip to Las Vegas for the iHeartRadio
Music Festival.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
It is the concert of the year.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
We will give you tickets to that, a one hundred
dollars gas card and a two night stay at an
MGM resorce.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh my god, that lady brought her parakeet.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
It's a trained parakeet under a small parasol with timy
poofballs under it, and she's a are you streaming live?
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Okay, you're just taking a video? Is that the air
to the Gail Benson Fortune down in New Orleans?
Speaker 5 (05:49):
That parakeet under that parasaol just beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. Thank
you for the ornithology lesson for all of our listeners
here so early in the show. The parakeet lady, everybody,
thank you, God bless you.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
He's very nice.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
We or water Tower couldn't provide enough entertainment. Take a
photo with a parakeet under a parasol and watch your
social media profile grow exponentially any more.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Prizes, Matt, I have the Freedom Foundry.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
We have the Freedom Foundry Party Pack, which is the
great Freedom FOUNDRYUSA dot com, flannels, hats, high level clothing
in that YETI cooler that will be given away. And
on top of that, we have a two hundred dollars
gift card to Barbecue Galore which can be exchanged I
believe for the cap'n cook Oven plus or whatever you desire,
(06:42):
and of course at the end of the show one
thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
It can also be exchanged.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
And this is a serious exchange, and there's a lot
of waivers that have to be signed, but it can
also be exchanged for one forty five second French kiss
from with Henrik, the Armenian Prince of Mount air Rat.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Which he is pretty sweet. It's like kissing a brisket.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
He will give us the particulars on that exchange at
the back end of this hour when he joins us,
and then of course our friends at Speedy Cash one
thousand dollars grand prize at the end of the show.
So find all the folks that are helping us out,
get your raffle tickets. That's how we will make our decisions.
And vans. Oh, yes, one year events. One year of
(07:23):
vans will be given away as well. That is twelve pair,
one pair a month courtesy of our host with the
most Steve n Dorn, will join us at the back
end of the three o'clock hour to celebrate that prize
and to celebrate the great brand that is Vans Off
the Wall. So all of that available to you between
now at the end of the show. Prize it is
(07:43):
I mean that took ten minutes. We are to get
through all that.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
We are streaming live it did. We are streaming live
on x we are streaming live on YouTube. We are
streaming live on Facebook. It's Ricky and Wacko and social
media Mac in the house. A big thank you to
Steve van Doren, our host. We could not be more
thrilled to see the listeners here and to have the
(08:07):
next three and a half hours to be together and
celebrate Great Sports Talk.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Tim Kates, Great Sports Talk.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Executive Producer, will be here live at five point thirty
And while everybody's leaving and saying what a great party
it is and patting each other on the back and
the band is packing up their banjo, Tim Kits will
be screaming into the wind like an idiot doing marongo
Casino Dodgers on.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Deck and we're all looking forward to that. That's my
favorite thing at every single summer tour stop. But Matt,
we have a very special group here.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Oh thanks, am I right?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
They are not only going to perform, but my goodness,
they got dressed in their finest, their finest formal wear
to ensure that the performance is received like a traditional
water Tower performance is received. They are gathered around an
old timey microphone, transporting us to an earlier time when
innocence was prevalent as opposed to judgment and consternation over
(09:02):
social media growth likes and comments. He they will be
our guides today musically and all of our breaks and
in some of our segments. Make sure you follow them
on all of the outlets, the YouTube, the Instagram, all
of the places where you can find water Tower. They
just got done playing two shows at the Warped Tour
and Long Beach saw them out there. They are sensational.
There's a real treat for us today and we cannot
(09:24):
thank them enough for helping us out here to make
sure everybody is entertained, more so than with the tom
foolery and grab assory that we will do over the
next three and a half.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Kenny and the guys are listeners to the show, Thank goodness.
At least Kenny is and the other three guys are like, God,
this sucks, and that's okay. But Kenny is a guy
that likes the show. And I said, you know, we
like to do a little intro when we start these
shows off to get guys, to get the spruce goose
off the ground. Of course, it doesn't fly very long.
(09:55):
It's a failure, but I like to get a little
intro go. And I said, you know, I might need
a little music bed for that intro. Can you roll
with the punches? And he said, we played at dinner
party once for Katie Perry. Don't worry, We've got this.
We know what to do. She was very particular about
every course and what needed to be playing interesting.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
It was like a pairing menu. So yeah, so but
with music.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
After that, you know, we don't need any We don't
need any real instruction for this great band. Water Tower
and Matt, we do have Sean Green, the Great Dodger
is gonna join us a little bit later.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Ean Green will join us in the four o'clock hour.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Held the single season Dodger home run record for twenty
nine years. I believe twenty three maybe twenty nine years
until Shoeyo Tonti broke it his first season here as
a Dodger, one of the great local baseball playing legends
from Tustin High School as a first round pick, I
think number five overall to the Blue Jays, back to
the Dodgers's hometown team. One of our absolute favorites will
(10:51):
be with us in the four o'clock.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
Hour, and like they're walking around in a seven star
resort in Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Henrik from barbie CU's.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Galorio is here, and a barbecue issle, a barbecue store,
and our boss Paul Corvino looking sweet and those white
pants and extra medium.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Guys, we're all gonna.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Be sweating here like Walrus's and that guy's not gonna
sweat a drop for the next three and a half hours.
That's how you get to be a powerful executive. All
of us true can only aspire. We also have David Vasse.
You guys can boo him or whatever. So from Arizona,
the Dodgers are on a losing street and that's a
terrible thing for all of us.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
And we also have a Steve.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Van Dorn and Henrik that are going to join the show.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Uh, here we go.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
I'm gonna talk a little bit last time, and I
regretted this last time. We started this show last year
and it wasn't his fault. But instead of a little
intro with fun facts about the town and stuff, we uh,
we brought the mayor of Coasta Mesa on John Stevens.
Very great guy, but I felt I didn't do enough
(11:59):
in the interview to give it that extra punch. So
we'll talk about Coast to Mesa in that way. If
we could have a little bed from the Great Bluegrass Band,
Happy to be here amongst the people and the best
host in the world, a friend of great sports talk,
Steve Van Dorn at the Van's headquarters with the great
band water Tower. Last year we kicked off the show
(12:20):
with the mayor of Coasta Mesa, a surf friend of
Matt Smith, and though we enjoyed the socks and the
different things he gave us great stuff, it wasn't the
overhand right that we're here at the headquarters of the
world's greatest California shoe company of all time, a brand
(12:40):
that started so germanely here in southern California to celebrate
our culture, much like the culture of great sports talk.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Great sports talk.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
That is taken over the globe fans, not the Petros
and Money show. Well, recently I was told, you know, Petros,
you've did in trouble a lot more if you guys
had more listeners.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
That's one way to look at it.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
We live in the liability of our parent company by
not having as many listeners. We're not as global as fans.
We're getting there, though, but we're very, very closing the gap.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
They're very grateful to be involved with such a great
global band. Coast to Mesa, this city has got a
lot of good things going for it.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Now.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
One of those great things is not the ocean. There
is no ocean at Coast to Mason.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
They're about a mile short, which has to suck.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
It's like when the Tennessee Titans almost won the Super
Bowl and you know it was like a yard short.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, four yard short. It's a little tough. It's right there.
But you know what they do have They.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
They have the Pacific empathy to where Matt used to
flex his muscles at the Lilith Fair.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
It's true.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
Do you think this guy's pipes look good here. You
should see him across the freeway. You should see him
at the Liloth Fair. S Osborne Yeah with Joan Osborne
starts singing what if.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
God was one of us all time favorites?
Speaker 5 (14:01):
The Pacific Amp I looked it up, still has great acts.
Nobody as good as water Tower. But yeah, what do
we got? They got Skip Martley tonight later in the month.
Joan Jett was supposed to play, but she slipped her back. Ah,
wouldn't it be sad to watch Joan Jett like intraction? Yeah,
(14:22):
so they replaced Joan Jett with cheap trick. You know,
that's probably a better trade than what you're looking for.
She has to have back surgery. She's been replaced by
a cheap trick. And Alison Kraus and Union Station will
be there later in the month, Okay, And they should
have water Tower open over there, or just get rid
of Union Station and swoop water.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Tower in there. We don't need those a holes. Oh,
Kenny Burrell sucks at guitar. Yeah, I said it.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
We can all agree, guys that Coasta Mesa is a
vibrant city full of wonder, which is why a great
creative hub like fans, and the headquarters is here thanks
to Steve van Dorn. I don't know if you know this,
but they call Coasta Mesa goat Hill because Steve.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Van Doran, the greatest of all time, is here. It's true.
I'm not kidding. Coasta Mesa. That's not Spanish. Coasta mesas
and Spanish for goat hill.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
No, Coasta Mesa is actually means coastal table. Yeah, coastal table,
but not quite the coast right.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Our Latino friends already know.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
That it means coastal table, but some of us that
aren't Latino have to be told.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
The original name of the town was like the Jason
Statham movie Harper. That was the name of the of
the town of coast to Mesa.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Used to be Harper, probably named after a Harper that
found it, I guess. Or it was named after the
Jason Statham movie and there was too many fights.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
So they changed it. That makes more sense to Coasta
Mesa because.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
A lady named Alice Plummer, a local teacher, won a
contest to name Coasta Mesa. Okay, Gina, how much she
got for naming Coasta Mesa in the contest. Coasta Mesa
twenty five dollars. She was white. But the Spanish they
(16:19):
had them coastal table. They didn't have speedy cash back
in nineteen twenty, I guess. But here, since all those
years later, times have changed so much.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
We have a Carl's Junior truck, Matt anything else.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
And unlike the in and out truck, Carls Junior pumps
out fries. They don't just throw a bag of chips
in you and ask and act like the cheeseburger is
good enough.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
No, and you got options back there too.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
By the way, you got the Superstar, and you got
the Western Bacon, and you got the nuggets.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
The Chicken Star.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Take your pick, super Estre, take your pick, which is
pretty exciting also, So we are happy to be here
in Coasta Mesa, even if the mayor is out of pocket.
Today there was a rumor that somebody from the city
was gonna come with a proclamation for Matt and I,
but I see that that was just a dirty lie.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Well, we've still got three hours left to figure that out.
We still do have three hours left to figure it out.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Remember our Irvine show, we had the fire captain come
give us the official greeting. When the Irvine City Council
decided to decline our invitation.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Now Kenny had anything could happen, Kenny from water Tower.
That's right, man, that's true. Anything. Kenny from water.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Tower can talk and play the guitar at the same time.
He's like Townsman sand Okay, in that way, tell us, Kenny,
what is the next water Tower show?
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Do you know? You know? We got a secret backyard.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Bert, give me the wireless, Bert, give me the wireless.
Go ahead, Kenny, it's up.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
We got a secret house show in my house. On
the twenty second we're playing. Actually, is that right?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Wasn't come party at my house? Well? What seriously?
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Yeah? For real?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Is it on Instagram? It's on Instagram? Yeah, water Tower
van is it?
Speaker 7 (17:54):
What?
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Ten bucks in a keg? Or what do we got? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (17:56):
We got Project Barley doing the keg?
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Oh my god, we love those. Yeah, they're wonderful guys,
all fantastic. They got a water Tower beer, did they really?
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yes, we'd be drinking that. Look at that.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Lomita or down on the water which one to usually
hit up? We usually go to Lomita?
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Okay, slow media, slow Meda, No, the Verdundo one's cool
too though.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Yeah, very coola that Yeah, it looks good at house, everybody.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah, yeah, that's it. That's all.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
We got one one five North Burlington Avenue. My house
is on August twenty second.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
All right, well, you guys could play whatever song you
want for the out because you're already playing, right, that's okay,
tim Right, we could play a little song and you
guys could play and entertain the crowd, and we'll be
right back with David Vasse live from Chase Field. I
think it's still called back if Downtown Phoenix Rookie Sasaki
is on the mound, he takes.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
On Merril, that other dude, Yeah, MARYL.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
Kelly, MARYL Kelly versus Rookie Sasaki, Morocango Casino, Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
On Dak Cheers everybody live from the Van's.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
Headquarters, coming up at five point thirty till then it's
Petrosen Money doing our final tour stop with a great
baron Watertop.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Thank you everybing. Take it away, guys.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
Now let me welcome everybody to the Wow Wow West
mistake that's untouchable, like Alien Nest, the track you trum
to your chest. I got this for you to me
and the CD we in the Sunshine State with that
bombas hamp be to the state, but you never found
the dance long empty and my friends meet on the
mission for dam Green leame me money making machine serving fine.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
This is Petro send money on demand.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Demand Petro Money live on location in the van's headquarters
in Coasta, Mesa. Pump it into your GPS, it will
guide you here. Still plenty of room. We have got
seating amphitheater style. We've got eating front row imax, this
(20:02):
massive presentation right on top of your face style, and
of course a host of tables with Carls Junior serving
up burgers, Steve van Dorn grilling up coffee hot dogs,
our friends Jen Silk and Tom from Blue Ice Poor
and cocktails, and our friends at Brewery x pooring beers
plus waters sodas. We still have a lot of time left,
three more hours as we're going until five point thirty
(20:24):
before we pass it along to Tim Kats and Dodger's
on dead.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
And most of you don't have the ball to stay
to stick in there for three and a half hours.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Do you have it in you? I doubt it, and
I don't blame you. It's hot.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
But you see this bandwater tower, and that's how it
was in the Civil War. They had to go and
play the banjo even though men were blowing up all
around them and legs were being the bone saws were humming,
and they had to play throughout the evening.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
So you remember that when you get.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
Tired and you feel like I can't take any more
great sports talk.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
It's too much for me, e sports talk. As we continue,
we must get out to the now. Usually when we
bring this guy on and we have a.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
Crowd, I feel like you're setting him up. No, I'm
just saying I feel like you're setting him.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Up there, because if we're in a place like you know,
Rancho Cucamonga, he says, oh, that's a hermitage tone and
makes fun of people are downy. But certainly he can't
make fun of Coast Ta Mesa. The van's head cool enough,
the City of the Arts, with the great band, water Tower.
There's no way he's gonna get into a verbal altercation
with our crowd in a WWE fake Tom Brady versus
(21:30):
Jake Paul charade. No, I don't see it happening. David
vass is.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
At with an inside look at the Dodgers. This is
the Vassie Report with David Basse.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
You want to ownly Davids from Spectrum Sportsnet LA MLB Network.
But right here, Nacy, that lady likes him.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
He smattering the booze, but also equal applause. I feel
like it's fifty fifty. It's a purple card, your liple cross.
All of our lives would be a lot darker and
a lot less enlightened if it wasn't for David Vase.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Shame on you.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
Shame on you people, Shame on you. That's what they
did to Jesus. Give us barabbas.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
So David Besse is like Jesus.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
He is okay, he's locally crucified baseball Jesus by the people.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Of Coasta Mesa. Him and Pete Rose. What's cracking, Dave?
How are you?
Speaker 3 (22:25):
I'm doing great?
Speaker 8 (22:26):
Thank you for that wonderful introduction. And despite the booth,
Costa Mesa is a great town, mister van Dorn, a
great loyal I think it's I think it's wonderful that
you're ending the summer tour.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
In a city of civilization.
Speaker 5 (22:44):
Yes, we do too, So Dave, give us a little
dipstick as to how the vibe is on the Dodger
team right now, certainly can't be that great with.
Speaker 8 (22:53):
The great because my guy's nel Villa just emerged out
of the Dodgers clubhouse.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
He was in the desert getting ready to make a start.
Speaker 8 (23:03):
Oh we we went to Ocean forty four last night.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Are live on the radio. So so stay hi to everybody.
So I start doing.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Heyy's doing?
Speaker 3 (23:14):
I trust the money?
Speaker 7 (23:15):
I was man.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
When we're talking basketball again from college basketball?
Speaker 5 (23:19):
Huh, these guys are Big ten basketball experts.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Make but you dub is not very good right now
in basketball? Your guys sprinkle or.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
We get Jalen until we get Jalen next year?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Can you guys get plus? There we go. You hear the.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Dance? Take quarters, then dance. Hey, give me some shoes?
Speaker 2 (23:46):
There you go? What's size? Why what size? I got something?
Speaker 4 (23:53):
The ones I won? Yeah, the ones I were in
high school.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Check it out. Oh baby, hey, you.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Dog done it done?
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Hey, this guy's ready. It's like running a bull day
city back to back.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
So when we lost that, when is he going to pitch?
Do we know the exact date?
Speaker 3 (24:19):
He said, talk to Doc he would and break the
news for you, guys.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Fair enough. I do have shoes for him.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
I got all whites from Van Dorn and I wear
a thirteen, and I'll take one for the team and
throw my body on the grenade and give those shoes
to Blake Snell.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
It might go over better than Oh he wants all black.
We can probably arrange white or all black. I got
all white. I mean, well, God, everybody's Dave. Want to
answer the original question, Dave. Everybody wants to know what's
going on with the team. People are wondering if it's
quiet on the plane, and guys just are screaming expletives
because they're so sad about losing a bunch of games
(24:56):
in a row.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
No, no, no, with the Dodgers, guys.
Speaker 8 (25:01):
Freddie Freeman the calming voice after the latest loss in
Chicago Wednesday. That could have been an even bigger loss
if Freddie Freeman's X race came back with any sort
of fracture. Luckily for him and the Dodgers, he's all good.
He'll be in the starting lineup today at first base.
So it's gonna be a situation where the Dodgers are
(25:24):
in a good spot now. Arizona swept them going into the.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
All Star Break. I dare say this is a good
matchup for.
Speaker 8 (25:31):
The Dodger offense because Meryl Kelly, Meryl Kelly has an
ERA of over five and the Dodgers have done good
things against him over the tenure of his time with Arizona.
So it's a good matchup. And you got Roki Sasaki
and his giant glove pitching for the Dodgers tonight.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Dave obviously, like Alrnov, applause on that. So we got
an update on Snell. He's with the team. He won't
break the data or the news is what date he's pitching.
What about Tyler Glass? Now, how is that going.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Yeah, he's in the rehab process. Snell is at the
end of it. Obviously Gas is in the middle of that.
Speaker 8 (26:12):
So he's probably not going to see glassdown until likely
the end of August when he's.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Ready to return.
Speaker 8 (26:19):
So right now, the Dodgers are in a good spot
with their rotation, trek schoolbol Obviously, Blake Snell's coming back
this week on this home stand, whether it be Monday
or Tuesday or Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
So I would say the pitching is not the issue.
Speaker 8 (26:36):
In the last week during the six game losing streak,
you do have to really examine who's been on the
mound for them. Yamamoto had to deal with some stomach illness,
so they pushed him.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Back, had to go with the bullpen game.
Speaker 8 (26:48):
Emmit Shean has since been been sent back down to
Oklahoma City. Those were two of the pitchers or pictures
during that Red Sox series and against the Cubs, the
Dodgers just didn't hit, they didn't score, and that was
the issue there.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Dave, we had John Paul Morosi on yesterday and he
mentioned he thinks, as constructed after the trade deadline, the
Cubs may be the most formidable opponent to the Dodgers
in the postseason. Your thoughts on that.
Speaker 8 (27:21):
Yeah, I would say that they're one of the top
two teams for sure that matchup well against the Dodgers
because they acquired Clay Homes and they acquired Kevin Gossman,
who has given the Dodgers hitters fits. I feel like
that was part of the reason why the Cubs wanted
Gossman because historically, as recently as the World Series, the
(27:41):
Dodger offense has not performed well against Gosman. So yeah,
I would say with the way the two hottest teams
the Dodgers just played the Red Sox and the Cubs.
So I know everybody's riding high on the Cubs, but yeah,
I would say them, the Phillies, the Brewers to a
certain extent are tough matchups for the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
And look, I examine it this way. It's similar to.
Speaker 8 (28:04):
When Shaq and Kobe we're going for the three teat
once you get out of the Western Conference, that was
the toughest test for those teams. It feels the same
way for the Dodgers this year. If they get through
the gauntlet of the National League, whoever they play coming
out of the American League is not going to be
as tough of a matchup or challenge as whoever they're
going to have to.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Go through in the National League. That's just the facts
of the season.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
The American League is two steps down as far as
quality teams in the National League this year.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
The one and only David vasse live from Arizona is
our guest. He's endeared himself to this crowd much like
the crowd on Ivan Dragau and started to cheer for
Rocky and it ended communism. So far, away back in
the nineteen eighties and brought down the Berlin Wall. It's
wonderful to have you, Dave. Where would this team be
(28:56):
without Freddie Freeman. Dave, of all the old and brittle
guy that they have, this dude still shows up every day.
Speaker 8 (29:04):
He's the straw that stirs the drink for the Dodgers.
Otawi obviously at the top of the order. He's a
guy that is dominant when he gets hot.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
It was good to see him have two home runs.
Speaker 8 (29:16):
But Freddy Freeman is the bridge from the first three
batters down to the second half of that Dodger lineup.
Now he just needs to get some help from those
guys behind him. But Freddie Freeman's remarkable, I mean really
is so consistent. Never gets too high, never gets too low.
I think that's part of the reason why he's been
able to sustain for seventeen years. He has a great
(29:39):
perspective on the game of baseball, and that's part of
the reason why he's been so successful.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
And you're going to see him in Cooperstown.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Now.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
The debate is will he wear a Dodger cap, whar
a Braves cap. It's no longer is he going to
the Hall of Fame. It's what team will he go
in with?
Speaker 4 (29:54):
N he's going in as a Dodger. I mean, come
up one, two worlds soon. Your moment one of the
greatest world's. There's moments on the history of the Fall Classic.
I mean pretty sad. You know when when he.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Left Atlanta that was and in the moment, thing like, I.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
Haven't seen anybody that sat in Atlanta since that Hooker
died in Sharky's machine.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, you guys remember sky Machine.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
He snapped out of it in a hurry like that
Hooker and Sharky's machine and that dude that got punched
out of the bus on the sidewalk. Yes, Bert Reynolds
nineteen seventies movie references. Everybody dave the the the late
game offensive explosion in Wrigley Was that much needed or
do you think that it was just whatever the circumstances
(30:40):
of those six games that the offense seemed to go
to sleep a little bit.
Speaker 8 (30:44):
No, I would say that's a that's a that was
much needed. Mad because the Dodger offense was a no
show in those six games that they've lost so far.
I don't expect that to continue tonight against Merrill Kelly.
But yeah, they needed those five runs in the eighth inning,
and Mookie Betts needed those four hits in that game
because he had an awful July. So August traditionally is
(31:08):
his best month in his career. He's sitting over three
hundred in the month of August in his career, so
that was much needed for him, and it was much
needed for the team to score five runs to show
some life.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
The one and Only David Vesse brought to you by
Downy Hyundai Live from Arizona.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
Dave, who do you have on the pregame show? Is
it smell Zilla dot Den mar Also.
Speaker 8 (31:32):
We're getting ready to talk to the newest Dodger pitcher outside.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Of school bol Chris Bubick from the Royals.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
He's on the sixty day IL, but could be a
factor in September when he comes off the sixty day IL.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
He was an All Star last.
Speaker 8 (31:46):
Year, so the media English and Japanese have congregated to
speak to Chris Bubick aggregated to speak.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
To Chris Bubick has a schoobl settled into the team,
feels like one of the guys.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
He still looked like a weird stranger walking around well.
Speaker 8 (32:01):
I appreciate you replaying our pregame conversation with him.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
I feel like he's very comfortable.
Speaker 8 (32:06):
He's the really nice guy and he is a really
great teammate from everything I heard from Kenley Jansen in
Detroit Clayton Kerr Show with Team US say, so, he's
going to fit in perfectly because he's a humble superstar.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
And that's what the Dodgers have real quick day.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
For our long time dedicated listeners, I'm sure they all
want to know, especially considering speaking of stomach ailments for
Yoshi Yamamoto, have you outgrown or do you still make
a point during every stop in Phoenix to drop by
Marley's and see what they got going on and what
type of ail they might be able to put on
you with their fried foods.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
That's a little bit too early in the day for me, Matt.
Speaker 8 (32:47):
That's an after hours place, and the team doesn't stand downtown.
That was my petro some money days. I can't go
there without you, guys. I'll get to a motion.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Corona call him thunder Dan Marley, not just because of
his great play on the basketball court, because of the
thunder he caused in your bow.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Yeah, for chokes.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
I haven't sat on the toilet that long since I
was on Creatine in usc Thank you the great David Vasse.
I'll have Rovett on the pregame show.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
We're gonna let.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
Water Tower play, and you know what, We're gonna let
him play for a couple of minutes before we go
to break, so you can see them there on your stream,
on the X and on the YouTube. And Ronnie will
hold off on the break because we might as well
enjoy this fabulous bluegrass band while we have him. And
we'll be right back with more great sports talk on

Speaker 2 (33:42):

tell me on this thing and that straps. You know
got you fund?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Reason?
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Crazy things wrong? Can you find the reason? Having money's
all gone? I got petrol some money I can still.
Speaker 9 (34:08):
Yeah, I'm a banjo. I can't play the banjo. Like
(34:36):
might be too short to love the one your god.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
You might get a little boy, you might get jod
never stun stand. I gotta get it on my chest.
Never have no bottle with my bulletproof vest.
Speaker 9 (34:46):
Take a small Extempande can keep it name from me

Speaker 2 (34:50):

of our thirteenth annual PMS Summer Tour.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
I think we're on the air. They're like we are.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
We are live at Demand's headquarters in Coasta, Mesa. Just
gave away one hundred dollars from Speedy cast. Just gave
away a pair of tickets to Dodgers versus Giants. Still
have eight of those one hundred dollars Speedy cash cards
to give away.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Still have your tickets? Still have ten hundred dollars gas cards.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Let's mention all the great grand prizes, one of which
p we're gonna get to right now.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
All right, do it, Matt.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
It is a very very special time to be with
the Great Armenian Prince of Mount Ararat, the CEO of
Barbecue's Galore.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
A man that comes.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
Not a barbecue isle, a barbecue store. Let's try it again,
not a barbecue isle, a barbecue store.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Sorry, I got blown out by the Armenian music.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
A little loud from Ronnie FOSSi, A little loud coming
at us there, Bert, little loud on the Armenian music
coming back to us from the studio.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
A little loud from the studio.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
There, here we go is the Great Hendrick from Barbecue
Galore with the latest great deal. Bert, A little loud
coming back from the studio. Turn it down, please, Thank.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Good Gosh Jesus, Hendrick, how are you. It's great to
see de great man. How you guys doing.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
We're great now that I can hear you, right now
that I can hear you. You have been on with
us at every tour stop. First at Septembers and Rancho Kook,
our second at Brewery x san Anaheim.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
And here we are again at the Man's Headquarters.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
You've been with us many times, en Rick, share with
us the efforts of barbecue's galore, our partner, and all
the great business we have done together and what we
are in what is in store for us today?
Speaker 5 (37:16):
I think there's two things, man too well, I believe well,
I mean, not to answer Hendrick's question, but just to
category set it up.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
I believe there's three things. I mean, there's the grand prize.
I don't know if we're giving that away here together,
and we always like we always like when Henrik pulls
the ticket. Yeah, and Henrik brought his son, Nico is here.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
Nico, Yeah, that's the double Armenian Prince of Mount air
Rat and he's here with his friend Declan.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
I think my daughter Kelly is here. We haven't let
her talk on the radio yet.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Which is coming to a small miracle that's coming round
of a place, So Kelly. It's a great family day.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
But I think Henrik has the grand prize, which we're
gonna give away here right at some point during Yeah,
all right, take it easy.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
John Johnny comes back, Johnny. You don't have to you
don't have to be prefunt. I ain't running up here.
It's okay.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
The card is great, but I'm gonna need the tickets
to pull in order to give it away.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
And he has one deal that still remains, and then
a new deal that he said he came up with
on his way here in his mind, okay, in his
big in my mind it is boulder like head. So
all of those things Matt I believe are in store.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
So just to let you got it CALLI. At your
feet is a van's bag full of tickets. If you
could grab that, we're gonna give that to Hendrick. So
as he walks us through, let's pull a ticket first.
This will be our big gift card giveaway from Barbecues's
Glow two.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Hundred dollars gift card. I'm holding it in my hand.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Why I know it's a two hundred dollars gift card
because there is a post it on the card that
says two hundred dollars, So we're sure it's two hundred Yeah, okay,
it's not two hundred drachmas. And our ticket number is
the ticket number is six one zero seven three. There
we go, seven fifty three. You are the big winner
(39:04):
on an orange ticket of the two hundred dollars gift
card seven five three. Second part that person could very
well be in the line for beer or Carl's Junior Burgers.
I heard these are long and ample line. Let's tell
you we have done. We have been doing female winners
thus far in our first hour, oh seeming lea for
every single giveaway, and we have got another one. And
(39:26):
look at that smart light haircut, right, smart light haircut,
a summer dress.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
What's her name? Had a big smile.
Speaker 5 (39:31):
What's your name, ma'am Covida? You're friends with Jen Wow
from Blue Eyes Vodka. Wonderful? All right, Well, God bless you.
You're also a winner two hundred bucks the Barbecue Galore. God,
the listeners hate it when a sponsor's friend wins some time,
but you know they're poor drinks. The drinks are free. Yeah,
you're right, you know exactly. How about that Blue Eyes
(39:52):
for two hundred bucks from Barbecue's Galore? All right, but
we still have to deal with the Captain Cook grill.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Where we get excited. Okay, so I do the Captain Cook.
Speaker 5 (40:01):
We got fifty of them less And this is for
the people that are on x and that are on YouTube,
and that are on Facebook, that are streaming and perhaps
don't have the privilege of frying like a hot egg
on a frying pan here at the coast of Mason
Vans headquarters. These are people just out in the world.
They can go to any barbecue's galore.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
And there are many outlets here in the Greater Los
Angeles area. Correct, right, so that's still on. That's still on. Okay,
So that's the one.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Ninety six ninety eight dollars or grill five hundred dollars,
grill ninety eight bucks. Just go in, say, am five
to seventy petros and money show, Henrik, any of those
combinations going to get you that for ninety eight bucks
A five hundred dollars Captain cook Oven plus forty left,
you said, right, that's it, left, fifty left, that's it,
So do it quick. Now.
Speaker 5 (40:46):
The second now, this is the one Henrik came up
with in the car while the two boys were listening
to trap music on the way here.
Speaker 10 (40:55):
The country fans actually, yeah, so they're more than wallin.
Right after the second show in Anaheim, Kay, mister Steven
Vandor came to our Brea store on Saturday. We had
an event there and he bought an island straight from
the floor. He came in, there's okay, I'm looking for something,
you know, blah blah.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
In the backyard, the outdoor island, the trigger. He walked in.
I said, this is the this is the island. This
is the price for you.
Speaker 10 (41:19):
He goes, I'll take it right now. It's my credit
card on Booming. Was done such a good price. It
has a great prize. So that's what got me thinking
about this new promotion.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Okay, hold up today, let's let's get it set up properly.
Speaker 10 (41:29):
We have this seven six foot island, six foot with
a thick branded top. Okay, with the refrigerator and the
turbook rail. High class, high class class. We got about
thirty eight of them, an inventory brand which is bought
him in.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Okay, Okay, we're going to go fifty percent.
Speaker 10 (41:43):
Off, half price, half prize, and price half price, half prize,
fifty percent off.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Again.
Speaker 10 (41:49):
My stores right now have no idea. I swear to god,
this is on the way up here. I'll call one
of my guys, like, kay, what do we have in
stock right now?
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Thirty eight at thirty eight fifty percent past. The turbo grill.
It's a sensational grill. It's got the fridge in it.
Keep your beers cold, your meat cold. All your cheese
so it's not melting and coagulating while you got the
burgers on there on your granite.
Speaker 10 (42:06):
Pape called the turbo Artwood. Okay, that's a white granite
top with like a charcoal base.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Fantastic.
Speaker 10 (42:12):
It is a very sexy looking eye hed Yeah for
a half off and thanks to mister Steve. That's what
I mean inspiration.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
So any of our listening percent go up to the
barbecue galore. Not a barbecue issle, a.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
Barbecue star, not a barbecue isle. Je needs a little
more enthusias And what's wrong with my microphone? Bernie trying
to stifle me?
Speaker 2 (42:33):
My god, I'll kill you all. Not a barbecue isle.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
There we go.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
I still don't like it.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Pretty good, pretty good for the ninety eight dollars Captain
cook grill for the giant Steve van doorn Island, fifty
percent off for the right to make out with Hendrik
for forty five second away. The kids are here, so
we're not gonna do the kissing booth. Can't but come on,
well pms after hours, we're gonna do it.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Not a barbecue I there we go, There we go
like it. They gotta get their bare chest challenge going on.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
That's they don't I'm a little I'm a little heavy,
but I'll do it.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Oh, are we going have a bitch?
Speaker 4 (43:09):
We gotta do this every time, Henry, I thought I
was gonna get out of this without it.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
There we go, see it all right?
Speaker 4 (43:22):
Is Petros just swinging his shirt? Here we go, barbecue's
goal on not a barbecue o barbecue star.
Speaker 9 (43:30):
There we go to.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
All we had to do was take it off, son
of a bitch. Every time.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
So every time I do is go over to the
barbecue galord, don't take off your shirt, or maybe take
off your shirt and I'll get you to fifty percent.
Unless you're a chick, then get it off and then
show your boots for the scoops. Well, we appreciate Henrick,
the great, Hendrick great and a wonderful part of what
we do in the world of great sports talk. We
appreciate great sports talk, everybody being here, especially.
Speaker 5 (43:57):
The great band water Tower and there fabulous bluegrass style.
Not to mention their manager Jessica, who is also here.
We're very pleased to have you all here. Let's listen
to water Tower and we'll be right back with another
hour of great sports shot live with the Man's High.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Corner losing money. We're doing another summer jam right here, y'all.
W two O two three four.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
In a car.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
I just can't wait to you up on the very
first day? Is it cool? If I hold your hand?
Is it wrong? If I dikets leam the dance?
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Do you like?
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Must you mean him? Did you get set? You know
what you wear? I'm excared you what you think you mean?
A nervous I really came. Let's go. Don't wait this night.
It's all the still bird
