Liberty in beautiful Columbia. Claudia, how are you? Thank you
for being here?

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Thank you, mayor, thank you, thank you. I do have
to introduce a dear colleague of mine. Okay, the Mayor
pro Temasio.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
He came in with Apollo.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I recognized them from the city council meeting, oh yea,
and from the five k that you ran with this
dude right here.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
It's a good Shakespearean name for local politics as well.
Exactly the more things in Heaven and EARTHTIOI so tell
us a little bit about what it's like running the
city of Downey. We watch a lot of city council meetings,
Matt and I do, and we love all the local
places and it feels like you guys run a real
tight ship. You guys take pretty good care of each other,

(02:53):
and you have good decorum in your quorum.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
We try, yeah, we try very professional. It's always been
that way.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
It always has been that way. We always I always
say we can agree to disagree, and let's not be
disagreeable to each other. And we think that is really
important to love that. But I have a great council.
We have a great city. Most importantly, we have the
best staff. I do want to recognize the director of
Parks and rec Jason Chacon here, he brought Apollo. Yes,

(03:27):
that's and you know what we just have. We have
a lot of fun because we love this community community.
I think so. From from the birthplace of the Apollo
space system to now we are a city. Did you
know we are the official FIFA fan zone.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yes, we did know that.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
We reported on that some six weeks ago when it
was announced the watch zone for the FIFA.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yes, he came up on the program.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
And so what we're going to do is right here
in this Stonewood Center, which is you know the heart
of our of our city. There will be the fan
zone right here, about fifteen thousand people to free event everybody.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
And they're gonna be able to watch all the game.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
And they're going to be able to watch all the
matches that day June twentieth, and then there's some surprises.
There's also VIP packages for people that want to get
you know, very very close. But I just I am
so thrilled to have you guys sell. We love being
We love the Dodgers, we love the Lakers. In fact,
I was debating should I put on my Dodger blue

(04:30):
I should.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Have Yeah, well it is kind of dodgerlue, you have, yeah,
like the ship of the city, if I may, Because
this has come up.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Look, this is our twentieth year mayor, so we have
discussed many of things, and Downey has come up quite
a bit on the show. My fam my wife's family
has a very strong connection with Downey. My brother in
law lived in Downey for a long time off casanas,
and I have many times told the tale of celebrating
the Fourth of July at his house in the city

(04:58):
of Downey. And I don't know what you guys have
going on with your fireworks policy, but I'll be damned
if there is not a city that celebrates the Fourth
of July with fireworks in every single neighborhood street, like
the city of Downey.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Is that something you are proud of?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
What say you about how Downy celebrates the Fourth of July?

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Darn we had to go there, Yeah, we did to
do absolutely. You know, we're a very patriotic city. Yes,
love our country, yes, USA. And but also we we
love our fireworks and we love to support the various
local nonprofit community organizations that sell the sane and sane sure,

(05:38):
safe and sane.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Absolutely, but you know we do.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Have some We do have some crazies out there.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
That's the greatest thing.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Try our best to regulate it here in Downey, right,
I mean, we try our backs.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
You can't go down with a garden hose it doesn't
go that far, yessoutely.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
And if people want to celebrate America, you fully support
those that want to celebrate America on her birthday.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Don't we have the greatest country on earth?

Speaker 3 (06:01):
We do, absolutely right, we do.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
That, FIFA fanzone, Dodgers are we are? We going for
the three p?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
We are? We believe we are. That's what all these
people want to hear.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Most politicians couldn't even get through that. I would say,
you did a good job. Quit while you're ahead. You
just had Yeah, you just had the three peet right there.
That's people love that exactly right. Hey, the Dodgers got
a three peak, guys, exactly see how easy it is.
It's like red meat out there. So what happens when
Warren plays Downy? How that's gotta be a rough ticket

(06:36):
for you.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Well, let me tell you. Let me tell you.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
We're a house divided because I have to say, my youngest,
who happens to be the former Miss Downey, it's here, the.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Former miss obviously a miss Downy, young missed from matt Unify.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
And and and my daughters went to Downey. I went
to Warren, my husband I went to Warren. And so
we are a house divided.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Oh wow, I have the root for everybody. You got
to show up at the game, or do you I do?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
I do and and and that's a big game.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
It's a huge guy.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Did you did you go when they played us?

Speaker 6 (07:09):
So fine?

Speaker 3 (07:10):
No one time.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I did it once many years ago on TV for
high school football, and you know, we celebrated different guys,
but this was before Niko and Malayava and different guys
like that. You know, Jeff Tedford played at Warren High.
It was a great cool But you're much younger than him,
I'm sure.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
A little bit, yeah, a little bit.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Although although although menopause these days is really catching up
to me.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
I had to do a Possel show a back. I
just saw nobody supports menopauseles. I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I didn't know you were so young and vibrant. I
didn't see you in person here.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
How do you?

Speaker 3 (07:42):
How do you do?

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Like?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Because Matt and I do a show and we do
it every day, and some days we're here for four hours.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
And it's a long time.

Speaker 8 (07:50):
It is a long time, and it's.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Eleven thirty at night, and some guys talking about getting
rid of the golf course and down here.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
How do you do it? How do you how do
you not just get up and say that's it.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
I'm done, I'm done. Do double espresso, everybody, double espresso.

Speaker 8 (08:04):
A lot of diet cokes, a lot of a lot
of diet cokes. And we just have to push forward
because we've got a lot of great work in this city.
We've got a lot of great staff. See, things don't happen.
We established policy.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Right, mptrtis, we established policy, but it is the staff
that make it happen. And so that's why we want
to say thank you to our staff. That's right to
our director of Parks in rech, our director of public Works,
our director of Community development, economic, it's it's.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
All of us. So we pushed through. He mentioned the
golf course.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Now I assume is that Rio Hondo that we're talking
about here, because one of the fine public golf.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Courses and council.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
We have to talk about that water features, beautiful clubhouse.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
No, no, no, not not Rio Hondo.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
It's it's the other the other other okay, don't which.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Is that should not be mentioned? Is on County?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
All right? And yes, okay, I go on.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
No, no, you know, we're just around here, you know,
and we're talking about the city. I mean, I'm enthralled
she is in this conversation.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
She is part of something known as the League of California.
And as two young men here that grew up on
the League of Justice, we think about the heroes that
populated the League of Justice. Is that what the League
of California is a series of superheroes.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Let me, let me, let me, let me take this
off there you go, and do us spend exactly what
is the League of California. The League of California Cities
represents represents all of the cities throughout the state of California.
And I have served and we push, we lobby for
legislation that really preserves local control and we have to

(09:46):
fight Sacramento O Good Fire unfunded mandates. Yeah, I was
chair of the Public Safety Legislative Committee some years ago
and we pushed for Prop thirty six. And then now
I'm in the in the Housing Legislative Committee, and so
that's that's what I do. But in your sense, we

(10:10):
we we strongly dialogue.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Ring the belt. Let's go ring the belts. Now.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Now as far as the the your tenure and all that,
when are you up for re election.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
When does when does Horas Hora show take over? Like
m P. T Airport Give him a round? Guy, when's
he taken over? Because they elect you? Right? Were you
unanimously appointed by the council?

Speaker 4 (10:42):
I was, uh no, Actually, what was Dorothy's problem?

Speaker 3 (10:46):
I love Dorothy? Dorothy from me. They'll talk about Dorothy
like that. I love Dorothy. You know that. Really she's not.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
I gotta tell you she is. I used to sit
on the board for SIAKA our animal our boutique animal
control agency, and I stepped aside so she would take
it over. And she just fights for SIKA and she
is such a great advocate.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
So it wasn't her. If it wasn't unanimous, who didn't
vote for you? Let us know, let's put it. Let's
do you have any problems? Yeah, you let us know.
We will fight. You'll fight. No, we'll do it too well.
You know.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Maybe maybe was the guy that wanted to put housing
in a golf course.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
I don't know. Yeah, I didn't like that guy.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I didn't like the ones that a guy that represents
everybody and also represents nobody, the floating guy.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
The floating guy. That's all that's because he doesn't answered anybody, right, Matt.
He answers to everybody. Do whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Matt, you had that, you had that figured out, right,
Mayor is there anything coming up other than the FIFA
thing and your trip to Missouri that you want to promote.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
I want to promote our local businesses. You know, this
week is small business Week, It's also law enforcement Week,
and it's also Nurses Week, and so we really celebrate
our entrepreneurs, our small business owners. They are the backbone
of our community's economy. And so I just want to
say thank you for supporting our local businesses, and thank

(12:15):
you to our law enforcement. We have the best PD.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Well, God bless you. You love you guys.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Great leader here in a great city, county, Califord.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
I brought Apollo. Yeah, this was a good idea. A
mascot is very important.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
No, no, no, God, we should we take a photo desk?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
We should? Yeah, we should, Yes, we should. We're going
to go to commercial break. First, we're going to turn
your mic off.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
With more great sports talk on the Petres and Money
Show on AM five seventy l A. Sports Don MacLean
is going to join us from the Bjay's restaurant in
bru House. Go ahead and take a picture with the Mayor.
Be nice to her and Apollo the mascot. I've never
been more excited in my life to be with something

(13:06):
so ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Right and listen here, truho, We're unto.

Speaker 4 (13:10):

Speaker 2 (13:16):

Speaker 3 (13:19):

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Big thank you to Mayor Claudia Frametta, to the City.

Speaker 3 (13:53):

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Mayor port tem Airasio, to Apollo the mass Scott. What
a wonderful segment to celebrate this beautiful city that we
love to visit.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
We love the bjys.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Thank you Miss January for booking us here at the
BJS and down He It's been six weeks since our
last live appearance and it's like a drug, man, it
just feels so good to be back out with the people.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
I wouldn't go that far, man, but a great time
with the Mayor Claudia, a great time with Apollo the mascot.
Oral Hersheizer with the impromptu call David Vasse with the
latest Blake Snell scratched Freddie Freeman unhappily resting, he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Be stubbing his face with snickerdoodles.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Eric from the Fourth Corner Shop is Eric's the best
wample things we've been given away.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
The Fourth Quartershop dot.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Com just four minutes from the Chicken Man. That's it
and wreck in Highland Park.

Speaker 3 (14:53):

Speaker 4 (14:54):
They specialize in customs, so he is wearing a very
cool black and white Dodger cap. All the different color
com you might want, all licensed, and some really.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Cool size looks as well.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Social media battled Philly Eagles fan is a big fan
of Oh look at that, But it's not for Don McClaine, everybody,
the BFF of the Petrosen Money Show, Fresh from Chicago
and the NBA Draft combine for his work with c AA,
his work with the Pack twelve Network, the Big Ten Network,

(15:27):
FS one and Big Fox, the leading scorer in the
history of the PAC twelve and UCLA basketball.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
The next ass he kisses will be the first course Matt.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Hard not to kiss ass when Claudia Fromana and Apollo
is standing right now.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
That's talk about pulling strings. It's law enforcement week. You
know you want to get out of here? Yeah, without
any issue, sent me to the Oval office. I mean,
pretty darned pressive.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
It is Don McClain on your Toyota Socale Celebrity hotline.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Donald's crack. How are you?

Speaker 7 (16:01):
I don't think I've ever followed a mayor on your
show before, but I'm happy to do it. I'll see
if I can hold up the mayor. I would say this, guys,
uh and maybe you've done it, Matt, because you're from
that area. But I don't advise anybody to fly from Chicago,
get in their car and think they're going to saunter
down to San Diego, no problem right.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
After Yeah, that's not gonna happen. The four five Friday, Yeah, Friday.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Four five to the five not the best combo. It
seemed like coming out of segments, coming out of the
Combine Don here. Now granted he won the title with Michigan,
but he spent a year here. Uh a die mar
I seemed like that's a dude that caught a lot
of heat out there.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Huh yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
Second highest standing reach in Combine history, which opens a
lot of eyes when you talk about rim protection in
this K and H, and he shot it better than
I think people thought. He moved better than I think
people thought he would, and so I think he really
solidified himself in the top ten. Nothing's guaranteed, but like
there was real buzz this week in Chicago on him.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
For sure. There I didn't see.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
I don't know if it was someone that was going
back to maybe it was Carolina or Duke, but they
said there was a guy that very well could have
crept into the lottery or at worst the twenties. And
he's looking at six to eight million bucks in nil
and so he's not going to go in the draft.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
He's going to go back to school. Is that what's
happening out there?

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (17:29):
One hundred percent. We have two kids that have to
make a real decision. And basically what we've said, and
this is crazy, like, unless you're going in the top twenty,
with the money that's being paid nil, you probably should
go back to school. How crazy does that sound? If
you're not going not the first round, the top twenty,

(17:51):
you should probably financially go back to school.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Ranking him more money for thirty games in college than
four years and playing eighty two per in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
It's wild.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Don, What about the Clippers with that fifth pick and
just kind of the what the ideas of who that
might be. I know we've talked about Keaton Wogler before
and sort of what he might be. Just what do
you think direction they end up going in after hitting
that Jackpod?

Speaker 7 (18:19):
Yeah, I think what'll be interesting is what happens in
front of them. You know, you don't know who's going
to be available at five, because you don't know who's
going to be picked in the first four. You know
a lot of this and people just think best available,
best available player, but a lot of it's team neat
and so if you need somebody that maybe wasn't rated
as high or on mock drafts as high, they might

(18:40):
be taken because that was a team Neat. But certainly
they're going to get a really really good player at five,
and what most people are saying is one of the
best drafts in at least the last ten years.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
The one and only Don McLean is our guest on
the Pettersen Money Show.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
We are live at BJ's restor and Bru House.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Not easy to follow them, yer, especially when she's wearing
those loges and has the fans don Why don't you
just cut the trip short and come over here to Downey.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
We got some IPAs for you. You can be here all.

Speaker 7 (19:10):
Already way south. I'm already way south of down he guys.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Way south, dog.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Were you surprised, you know, before we get into all
the offseason stuff and what people should do and who
deserves the game ball, were you surprised to see the
Lakers dispatched in the way that they were by the
Oklahoma City Thunder?

Speaker 7 (19:30):
No, I wasn't. You know, without Luca, you knew it
was probably going to be a struggle. But I just
think the Oklahoma City and you know, I don't think
anybody's gonna beat them for a while. And again, it's
not a one game or two games. I'm talking seven
game series. You got to beat them four times, and
that's without Jalen Williams. Right now. I mean, we don't

(19:53):
know the future, but I just think this team's gonna
rip off four or five six, not in a row,
but four or five six in the next seven eighty.
I really believe that. I mean, watching them, who's going
to beat them? Like I guess the Spurs could mature
and get older. They're a little young right now when
min Yama could continue to get better, but I just

(20:14):
don't see it with their culture, the people they have.
They have another first round pick this year, I think
it's twelve.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Yeah, Like, this thing.

Speaker 7 (20:22):
Ain't gonna end anytime soon, I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
So what's the best way to try to contend with that?
If you're the Lakers? Is it bringing Lebron back or
is it trying to find better pieces around Luca and
Austin Reeves?

Speaker 7 (20:35):
That's the heart, Matt. We talk about this all the time,
Pete with you guys like they're kind of in the
middle in the sense that they're really not a contender.
Yes they made the playoffs and yes they won a series,
but they're really not contending right now with the Thunder
or even the Spurs, or probably even the Knicks. So
what do you do, like adding a player to what
is that gonna get you over the hump? I don't know.

(20:57):
And so that's the hard part for these front office people,
was like do we keep banging our head against the
wall and trying to add a piece that might close
the gap or do we just say, you know what,
We're going to start with these two guys, Reeves and Datcicch,
and we're going to strip it down. But people who
don't want to hear that are Reeves and Datchich. So
that's the hard part, you know. It's it's like, it's

(21:20):
the way stam Pressy has done this. And I spent
some time with them in Chicago, just kind of he
was asking me about our guys, but I was asking
him about, you know, the approach that he has and
how he's done it. He's like, look, we get to
know the player, and he has hit on everybody, like
he made the Paul George trade, I think, knowing that

(21:41):
he was getting all those picks, but he knew we
didn't know. But he knew that SGA was going to
be a superstar, and sure enough he is.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Don McLain is a superstar.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Joining us right now on the Petrosen Money Show on
AM by seventy LA Sports. You're home of the Dodgers,
Dodgers Angels tonight. All right, Don, what about Austin Austin Reeves.
I'd look like he tried his best to come back,
wasn't in great physical shape and probably didn't work out great.
Maybe he would make a different decision, but he tried

(22:13):
to be there for his team. What do you think
the Lakers should do as far as bringing him back
and how much they should pay him?

Speaker 7 (22:20):
Well, whatever the market says they should pay. Like, they're
not in a position where they could lose an established
star player, all star type caliber player in him, so
they're going to have to pay him. And I think
that's again, like I said earlier, that's where you start. Okay,
we got Luca and Reed's two known commodities. Now what
do we do? And I think that's the job for

(22:42):
Rob fulinco and his staff is like figuring out money
wise and talent wise, what do we put around him
to be better than we were this year.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
The great Don McClain is our guest.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
He is.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Our bff on the Petrosen money.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Although Apollo the mascot, though not verbal, going to give
him a run for his money.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
What a beautiful moment for the pictures.

Speaker 7 (23:07):
What type of what type of mascot is Apollo?

Speaker 3 (23:10):
It's like a doll, like a spaceman doll, but walks
like a man.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Reminded me you may remember Don, there was a there
was like a robot toy in the late seventies early
eighties called Elfie. It's got a very elfy feel to it.
Just a cartoony astronaut.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Okay, all right, it feels like astro bull Don. There
was a story about Lebron. It was written in a
pro Lebron way, but I don't think made him look
great about him getting all butt hurt when he didn't
get the game ball. They gave it to JJ Reddick,
who I thought they hired because he was friends with

(23:47):
Lebron and goes off into the la night all angry.
And I don't think the article had the effect that
the people that wrote it thought it would as far
as sympathy toward the King goes. But I mean, a
guy's forty one years old and he's accomplished almost everything
you could try to accomplish it. That's a pretty amazing story,

(24:09):
didn't you think.

Speaker 7 (24:11):
Yeah, I didn't see the story. I was busy last week.
But I will say this, I think Lebron, in all
his greatness, and whether you like him or not, and
he's very polarizing. We've talked about him a lot on
the show. I do sense that he is going to
go somewhere where he can kind of have a chance

(24:32):
to win, and I think he understands that this Laker
team right now doesn't really have a chance to win.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
So where is that?

Speaker 7 (24:38):
Does he go to the Knicks, who are pretty close,
like I think they're going to be in the finals.
Can they beat Okay se or San Antonio? Probably not,
but he had a guy like Lebron, maybe you can.
So it'll be interesting to see what he does. I
don't think he comes back to the Lakers, but maybe
I'm wrong. I think he's going to go somewhere where
he thinks he has a chance to make a run
at it one probably one final time.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
You mentioned you talked to Sam Press, to the architect
of the thunder seems I mean, there's really nothing you
can do but celebrate the way they put that team together,
the market they're in, how they've got to try to
figure out how to make it work financially, over spending
for some guys and trying to keep everybody else without
leaving for New York or LA or Miami. It's incredibly impressive. Yet,
don I mentioned this the other day. I don't know

(25:22):
if you would agree with it, but it feels like
people don't want to see them win again. They're like
already over it after one one championship. They're excited about
Wembin Yama and the Spurs even though they've won a
bunch of titles already. Obviously understandably, they're excited about the
Knicks getting into the conference finals via sweep and be
in the favorite to make the NBA Finals. But do
you get that sense as well that for whatever reason,

(25:44):
they feel like this is such a juggernaut they just
as soon see it get kicked off the tracks early.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
I do get that sense, mad, but good luck with it? Like,
how is it going to get kicked off the tracks?
All right? Unless there's injury? Right, Like this ain't gonna
happen like they're And again it's yes, they have very
very good players, Holmegrin's gotten better, SGAs one of the
best players in the league, Carusa, all the guys that
they have, But it's really about their culture, and you

(26:13):
know what's crazy about that? And I don't know if
you guys notice this, because I do because I have
to interview players after big ten games now and they
started the whole the whole team comes over. When one
guy's getting interviewed, you guys notice that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's the most annoying thing ever if you're doing.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, I just want to talk to this guy.

Speaker 7 (26:33):
I just need to talk to this guy. I don't
need you guys throwing towels on them and saying stuff
and all that. But it does speak to who they
are and they started that's so they're they're the team
that's together. You know, they root for each other. And
the reason I'm saying that is is this year we
have Mores, Johnson and Daimar and they were exactly like that, unselfish,
happy for each other's success, unselfish. That's why Michigan won

(26:57):
a national championship. And I really believe that's why. Okay,
he's going to continue to win NBA championships.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
If you were a giggly sidelined lady, Don, you might
feel differently about those towels and all those guys having
a great time.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
You know what I'm saying, don.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
No, I wouldn't answer the questions. Let me go home, please.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
I got two questions just to answer them and get
the hell out of here.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I got a flight to catch don exactly quick question.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I mean, you are not one to go to sporting
events unless you're being paid to be there. And yeah,
but we do have two rather large events coming to
LA The mayor was talking about the big FIFA event
coming up, the World Cup and the Olympics. Don will
you be in attendance at either of those big events
in the city of Los Angeles.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
There's a good chance I'm not. Pete. Actually, my friend,
one of my really good friends college friends, to runs
all the logistics for the World Cup, so like I
could have super VIP. Well, probably not gonna go.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
I think you should take advantage of that, don don you.
I think you should take advantage that World Cup comes around.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
All the time, you know what I mean. Don't worry
about it. We love you, dog, go all go.

Speaker 7 (28:12):
If you guys go all.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Right, well you bring us with you. We're in Call Stu, Yeah,
call your pal. We'll done.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
I'm only going to the even Games. We love you.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Don showing the five Freeway, have a great Say hi
to us over on Lost Pool Gus Road when you
pass it.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
He's gone, Okay, I might hit that dead zone there
right by Camp Pedalting. You know, just dropped out to
do a lot of ops, a lot of special a
lot of special ops going on there.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
We got our promotion staff in the house. Johnny, what
is it? Nate? I know, Nate, I yelled at him once.
I still feel bad.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Birthday to steak, birday to steak. And hasn't he hasn't
napped yet. But it's coming because the pizzuki's coming. And
have you done the pazuki yet?

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Not yet?

Speaker 4 (29:11):
It's coming. And then the nap comes. Loud Lou is here,
Loud Lou. It's not his birthday though, but he stuck
into a shout out. He's just like you, except he's
louder too loud. Looo Lou, He's just like you. He's
on number two.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
He is loud. Too hard to come. Are you guys
out of here? Oh?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
The navy man can't make it the whole way. Candy
can't finish the sailing trip.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Oh maybe you're just going to the bathroom.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Oh, we're giving away one of these two hundred and
fifty dollars gift cards in the break.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
All right, we'll be right back with some reaction. Then
this is Petros Money on Demand.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Let's rus some money and five seventy ELA Sports Live
everywhere on the iHeartRadio appic thanking to Don McClain. Were
on the four h five and the five South on
a Friday afternoon. Like many of our listeners, we suppose
Oral Hersheiser tried to beat the traffic, got down to
Angels Stadium in the two o'clock hour. He was listening
when we opened the show and dialed in David Vasse
from Anaheim as well. We will be going to the

(30:22):
gallpin Ford Broadcast booth at six thirty eight pm for
first pitch. Blake Snell has been scratched from his star
Terrible News, Terrible News, Hi, Bob, No Blake Snell. Freddie
Freeman's gonna sit this one out as well. Dave gave
us all that big breaking news. He will have more
along with Tim Kits and Dodgers on deck at five thirties.

(30:43):
So still about an hour and a half for us
to go pee. A little bit over that about hour
forty minutes. I'm worried about or on a flex alor.
I'm not worried about myself. No, and I'm not worried
about the voice of the bulbs.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
What you're worried about.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I'm worried about some of these listeners, right You guys
got here little early, and you were pregaming, sucking back
on Grandpa's cough Sarah's right, and look at you now.
Oh yeah, somebody's calling you drunk, so let's react like
a drunk man.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I'm worried as hell.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Man, we got another hour and forty minutes. I don't
think you guys got the balls to hang in here.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I think they do.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
I don't think you can do it. I don't think
I think you guys are gonna fall out. That old
lady got really mad because the old lady she brought
wanted to leave.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Oh she was so mad.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Yeah, and she was like, I hate my friend that
this woman wants to leave. I was like, well, she's
the one who took you. If she wants to leave,
you've better roll out. You know, we do a lot
of these remotes, don't you worry.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
It's Friday. There's a mixture at the retirement community, you know.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
But I'm just saying, yeah, well, who knows what she
wants to get to. She probably wanted to just get out.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Of EREA is playing. But let's be let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
A lot of you guys right now are like another
hour and forty minutes. I don't think I can do it.
I don't think I have the heart within my my ribcage.
And especially two people that I see here who I
came here and they were drinking like there was lsu
versus Florida. All right, and this is not lsu versus Florida.

(32:14):
It's just a Friday afternoon in downy guys. Let's just
know it's lsu versus the Citadel.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
That's what this is.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
Okay, so react accordingly. You're only gonna stick around for
the first half. And a big thank you to Eric
from the fourth corner. The chick is awesome. What a
pleasant surprise for us to walk into thinking we just
had not just had, but had some Dodger tickets and
the the the Intuit Dome MNA fight tickets, and then
Eric shows up with all these hats and pictures and

(32:40):
two hundred and fifty dollars gift cards to the fourth
quartershop dot com. It's only ten minutes away from Dodger Stadium.
Very very popular spot in Highland Park, especially when it
comes to customs. So whatever you can imagine putting on
your Dodger hat, whatever color scheme you want, that is
what they do all licensed.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I want to look at Dave Roberts with his asset
out right on ice Cube's thigh.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
He could do.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
That's the freaking hat I want from what he was
just twerking all over ice Cube. That's the hat I
want the Fourth Corner Shop to make. And what about
our friend Dave Wee Smatt.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Right together again? Did he leave at punk ass? Did
he leave? I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
No, he didn't leave. I think he's on a call. Well,
leieve he's on a call.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
All right, it is time. Do you guys want some
textosos or what should.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
We do here? Just?

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Does Tim Kates have any talkbacks?

Speaker 2 (33:28):
No, Tim Kates, He's indisposed for a moment, Is that right?
Tim Kates has gone on a quick, quick, small respite
from the show to take a photograph with his daughter
who's graduating high.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
School today today.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
And the other Kates girls are out of town, so
Tim had to go.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
And the graduation is today. I think a senior day photo. Oh,
I gotcha.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Okay, so he's gonna take a photo, not the actual graduations.
I think you take that off, you know, I would
like to he's afraid of Colin y Well, you.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Know, and Dodgers on deck and Dodger talk again.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
I don't think he is, but I do know for
a fact that David Vassa is on TV tonight.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
So you know we got a Yeah. Water, that's a
good idea.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Water that's right. No, look what's right next to it's
life giving no water? And another gigantic. You want the
big one, abv ip. You want the big one. I
want the big one. You gotta be a long night
in down and I'm.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Gonna put a coaster on top of it so nobody
takes a sip out of my giant beer.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
A fine brought to you by your so called Toyota dealers.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
We make it easy.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Is the mascot like one of those dolls where the
hospital staff and police act thet asked the victim where
he touched you. I don't think the mascot was like
an abuse now, but but you it could serve that
purpose if you needed it.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
It was very comforting, you know it.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
It presented the sense of security and some nostalgia to
our childhood. And he was very gentle, or she was
very gentle with their touching whoever was in there.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Yeah, very gentle. So I appreciate that. I found it
to be quite comforting to be close to a pillow.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
When you're up close to somebody and they have such
a smile on their face, it's like, you know what
she's really enjoying.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
It's kind of one of those I felt like they
she or he, she or he. They felt like they
were going to bunk everything, so they were very slow
and deliberate in their movements and very careful.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
All right, Matt, my friends call me Apollo too. It's
my porn star name, name of my first pet and street.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Where I grew up on. I'm Apollo Herrick.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
That's right, first pet street name. My name is Lucanico
El tasorro Mineus Robbie Forrest.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
That that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I'm just full of pubes man. Nobody's been. There is
no better, no better porn star name ever than the
t T Boy. Let's be honest. TT Boy lives in
our hearts and memory forever, even though he's pulling out
knives on social media and swinging them around.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
Now, all right, I us up fine. Brought to you
by your so called Toyota dealers. We make it easy.
All this chicken effing, but nothing about chicken fighting. It's coming.
It's coming. Do you guys know about that? It's coming. Hey,
it's part of their culture. Leave them alone.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
I wouldn't live here if it was not for the
part of their culture. All right, it's part of the
Porto Ricano's culture. You have to let them fight the
chickens or they can't be themselves. They can't be Have
you ever seen West Side Story? It's fine, it's okay.
Don't worry about Eddy Diaz. What is there some kind

(36:50):
of chicken advocates out there? I get it for the dogs,
but when's the chicken advocates out there?

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Well, not the chickens, but the cocks. There's people that
take up for the cocks.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Well, I mean, the chickens are problem upset when the
cocks go down. I would imagine the.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
Cox can't be doing that to the cocks, cutting them
up with razors all over the place.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
We're gonna discuss it, Matt, But I'm not surprised that
there's a Cox, sure Puerto Rican guy that's into cock fighting.

Speaker 7 (37:13):
It.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
Maybe don't advertise it, Maybe don't take out the ad
and the paper that says I'm Medwin Diaz and I
love the cockfight.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
That's just maybe probably not going to be great for you.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
GLASSI has to be amigo for throwing the mayor a
lifeline about the fireworks.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
She was out of her death. Hey, I tell you something.
There is no go after the mayor about the fireworks.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Masks the greatest city on the face of the earth
when it comes to the fourth of July, and it
needs to be celebrated, and she needs to be celebrated
for turning a blind.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
Eye to it. I appreciated mayor for a metha.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Oh thank you for supporting your local businesses while you
party at a chain restaurant. Hey, listen, no local businesses
are going to pass the show offs, right, We come
here with the chain and say, isn't.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Down a great place? Enjoy it for all?

Speaker 4 (38:02):
It has the office exactly right. And you know what
it feels like a local business in here, Okay, most
definitely does.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
It feels like that when the mayor comes right, and
when the fourth quarter shop comes, and when Apollo comes
and we fill up the freaking dining room with listeners,
not just the.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
Bar and Drunkie McGee sitting in the front row tickling
your ribs. Drunkie McGhee is on vacation. Stop tickling me.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
It's really hard to post for a picture when somebody's like, no,
take it away, two hundred and fifty pounds.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
You stop.

Speaker 6 (38:38):
You're like like a you were cooing. You were like pa,
I was not, damn you. I'll take a lot. I
will not take that.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
We're not cooing like a pigeon. We'll we shall return
with more petros and money. Take that coaster off your
beer already, No start drinking.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
We will do the word number song of the day
coming up next, and then we'll do the top story
of the day where Matt is going to dive into
the dark underbelly of the world of Puerto Rican cop fighting.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
And then why else would I live here? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Family, you see that, you see the many chi gunsill
live here. Do you not understand when the lights go
up at the cock fights on a Friday night, the
exhilaration I feel in my soul? More petros and money
on a five seven. It's his culture, Matt, It's their culture,
that's right.
