Speaker 1 (00:01):
On air at AM five seventy LA Sports and I'm
demand of the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
This is the Petros and Money Show. You are one
of the kind hosted by Petros Papaday guests left school
after sixth grade. Look at him and the voice of
the Bolts, Matt money Smith.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
The answer is on money. There is nothing you can do.
You know it's coming.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
This is the Petros and Money Show on the home
of your world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Make us your top preset on the iHeartRadio App.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Patience is always rewarded and romant Man's is always around
the corner on me.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I'll trust some money. Five seventy LA Sports Live everywhere
on the iHeartRadio App. We have Dodger Baseball tonight. Yamamoto
on the mound and that will get started just after
seven pm from the gapin Ford Broadcast Booth six o'clock,
Tim Kates, we'll have Dodgers on deck. Talked about Edwin
Diaz blowing three of his last four save opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Very upset about it, Matt. You see frustrating. You seem exasperated.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Uh, there is nothing worse than the closer blowing a
game When the rest of your team has managed to
get twenty four outs, you are tasked with three just
a single inning. A starter has thrown five to six innings,
maybe a reliever has thrown two. Maybe secondary reliever got
out of a high leverage situation a jam in the

(01:27):
eighth or the seventh or something, and now all you
have to do with a clean slate base is empty,
is get three outs and free. Out of the last
four times Edwin Diaz has been tasked with that, he
has blown it.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
And I know you're upset.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
We're for Roki Sasaki, who deserves better with that cartoonishly
large club.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Really, that's right, Matt mentioned the big glove. You know
a lot of people are frustrated. We'll hear from David
Massey in the very next hour. We'll do a little
college football. In the next segment, we'll do some lessons learned.
Don't forget to podcast show on the iHeartRadio app for
your smartphone, and don't forget to stream it live there

(02:07):
as well, because it's always there. And don't forget to
go see Tim Kats tomorrow at the Gallpin Ford. Matt,
you're stopping rounds. Tim Kats is gonna go over there.
Maybe you'll leave in a.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
P heav Oh, I'd be pretty sweet. A c X
ninety p heeb An F one fifty, the best selling
truck in America, best selling vehicle in America for fifty
three straight years. But yeah, eighty years Gallpin Ford has
been operating here in southern California, the number one for
dealer in the history of the world, number one in
California basically their entire existence and still today. And you're
gonna have an opportunity to meet Austin Barnes, meet Sean Green. Austin,

(02:45):
I believe, is gonna sign autographs from nine thirty to
ten thirty and Sean Green from ten thirty to eleven thirty.
At ten o'clock, Tim Kates is gonna be out there
doing a live Dodger talk free for the whole family,
food games, prizes, giving away tickets, all that stuff. And
it is easily accessible immediately off the four or five
at Roscoe.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
All right, this is a huge news. His words the
word of the day this week. And we have been
monitoring this and it's been four long years. Freshmen had
become seniors. In this time. The Lakers could have been

(03:27):
bought and sold a thousand times since it only took
three days. The beloved staple of the Fiesta Village at
knots Berry Farm, Matt Manazuma's Revenge is he back, completely
renovated and back.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yes, let's go remote.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Manazuma now called the Forbidden Fortress. Do you know what,
it looks a lot like Matt as it was run.
It looks a lot like Monazumas or that, which is
pretty sweet.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
There was not a big footprint there to do much
else with it.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Well, yeah, I guess it needed a lot of help.
So they basically, I think it sounds like they basically
built a whole new roller coaster. But the original Monazuma's
Revenge was of course built in nineteen seventy eight as
the headliner for the Fiesta Village. It had been through

(04:29):
a massive, as we said, four year, multi million dollar refurbishment.
It still takes.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Off life still like a rocket ship, right, yeah, But now.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
It has a new randomized electromagnetic launch system, that's what
it's called. So it has a new one of those.
I guess randomized means you know.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
How, it may don't really know when it's going to.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Go, and then it blows you into the future. It
has a new track, so a whole new track. And
I guess what's new, Matt, is the Forbidden Fortress vibe.
You know before it was kind of a Fiesta vibe with.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
The rear exactly.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Now the new Montezuma's Revenge Forbidden Fortress has a mythical
as tech treasure hunting theme. That's why we're playing this
adventury as tech. Pan flute music also added Matt. And
I don't know why this took four years, but red

(05:39):
strobe lighting and you know what, they're gonna steam you up.
They just have that. They used to have that ring
of Latino lighting. Remember that ring that would go through. Yeah,
but now they're gonna it's steam and red strobe. Like
you're down there in the jungle fighting it out for artifacts.

(06:06):
This should be in a museum.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, look, I think probably the amusement park types. Maybe
you're gonna gonna dig on this a little bit, but
I think this is like best case right, Like we
love Monz's Revenge, like man have a roller.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I mean, we all know what they did to the colossus.
They blew it up. Yeah, I think this is the
best case scenarios. Absolutely Matt, you know, and that they
turned away from a little bit of the Fiesta vibe
and more of a Montezuma Revenge sort of adventure side.
I'm fine with it. The new train looks like a

(06:48):
stone creature kind of thing as opposed to the red,
golden green Fiesta vibe. But I am I think this
is great. I am happy. Congratulations everybody at Cedar Point
and knots for renovating Mana Zuma's Revenge now called Monazuma's

(07:10):
Forbidden Fortress. But it looks the same. And of course,
like all the effeminate or just feminine morning show people
are riding it now and going on the ride on
the camera on kt.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
LA and Okay, so we're not going to do that, then.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
I mean we can do we can go there. I mean,
I don't know if we need to ride.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I mean, I think we should just do the whole
show from the ride, like the whole time.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Yeah, that might probably out.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Maybe if we had a four hour show, we could
do it for four hours.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I think it's probably just really loud.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I would imagine we could get the Guinness people down
set some sort of record, like longest continuous radio show
from an amusement park ride and we can knock out that.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
I mean, I could maybe pull that off from the
Camp Snoopy roller coaster, but I could pull it off
from the new Mona Zoom anyway. It looks pretty sweet,
and congratulations. That is a great ride.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
It's wonderful.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
It's been part of southern California for almost fifty years,
so get in there and enjoy it. The new one.
Congratulations for them for not screwing it and effing it
up like usually they f Everybody fs everything up all
the time. This does not seem to be ft, so
nothing is a f't dude, all right, it is.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Number.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I don't think you can acknowledge enough the temptation to
recreate something that's completely different from a standard. And Manazuma's
Revenge was a standard. So well done. Knots. There's a
Deltaco very close to knats Pie and your number of
the day is one. It's about time.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Well now with this Mark Walter stuff and the bus,
we're never getting a Del Taco.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
We can dream because if we had had a Del
Taco the time that we had politic for a Del Taco,
this would have already happened, but at least it's happening now.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
If you'd gotten off your ass, Petrick right.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
One of the things that everybody regularly cites about the
al taco that is incredibly underrated as.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
What the cheeseburgers cheeseburgers.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
So they have finally combined. Yes, and I was afraid
you might have done this yesterday.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I didn't do it. I just saw it briefly. I
don't even know what it is.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
They have introduced the All American burger taco. They did
not try to, you know, combine the two and call
it a baracco because they put a taco inside of
a being burrito, which is a great name that no
one has yet to claim. And of putting that out there,
if you guys want to use what.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
About what about a burger that sounds too much like
a third.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
A little bit? It is the All American Burger taco,
not one, but two of those cheeseburger patties with shredded lettuce,
tomato slices, diced onions, and their burger sauce served inside
basically a taco show soft taco show. They do describe

(10:03):
it as an a la carte item for ay and
remember two Patty's not one for a very affordable price
of five ninety nine, or you can get it as
a meal with those crinkle cut fries that are regularly
sighted to some of the best at any of the
quick serves here in southern California, and a drink for
nine ninety nine. They also want to announce that Dell

(10:25):
Dirty is back, or Dirty Dell, which is their dirty
soft drinks with their villion.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Oh yeah, well everybody's got a dirty bar now using
me running dirty running murder, ron murder.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, so they've got their dirty drinks back, sixteen ounce
thirty Dell. And they also I was not aware that
this was a thing, but apparently people are very excited
about this returning for a limited time. Those people, I
believe suffer from the diabetes. The caramel cheesecake bites, which
is cheesecake bites, little squares of cheesecake topped with caramel,

(11:03):
dropped into a shell and fried crisp.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
If I suffered from diabetes, why would I want Why
would I choose that? Wouldn't that be like a highway
to helve I think.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
So, I think that is what I should say. The
onset of diabetes those that suffer from the onset of diabetes.
One of their favorite but the All American Burger Taco,
I do think would qualify as a Petrocinemay taste test
if we could find which of the limited Del Tacos
are given this thing a test run. I do think
this is one that we should probably try to put

(11:35):
into the PMS taste tests.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Oh, I don't know about that. Is there even a
Del Taco and Burdbank? I thought that was like a
dot of that.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
There's two of them now, so there were used to
be three, but the ones now is Starbucks, So we
got two.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Product just got swatted down hard there like Matumbo.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
By the way, Sharky's has got a one of these
Burger tacos you're talking about. Yeah, there's not as many
Sharkies is Del Tacos? I understand, but Sharky's is way
ahead of Del Taco. They've got their smash Burger Taco,
which is fantastic.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Sharky's got to drive through.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
No, they're more established.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
You have to sit down and eat there, Okay we're
talking about.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, that's more like a salesperson lunch. It's not a
radio host.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Now, that's client lunch. You know, we need to drive
through here cakes. You know you got a Burger taco
and to drive through.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Sharky says a chicken salad. That really does me right.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
They've got a com salad shake. That's we need drive
through skates, you know how.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Well I mean, that's great news for Southern Californians. Right
the Turgo whatever it's.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Called, All American Burger Taco.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
And UH and Manta Zuma's revenge is wide open. Maybe
not mixing them together, but separate that could be if
you keep them separated, it could be a wonderful, wonderful
weekend in Southern California for everybody. With the word of number,
here's Ronny with the song of the day.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
This is the song of the day.

Speaker 6 (13:01):

six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Thanks Ronning, and we'll be right back with some news
around the world of college football. Kates.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I just clicked on the North Hollywood Way Burbank del
Taco Order and OWT for pickup and they do have
the All American Burger TALKO.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Well, they are a participating franchise.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
That is great that the taste test is coming up
in our near future.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Stay with us, everybody. It's a prog Man Friday on
a seventy I.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Spoke stands, Petros, Papadacres, that money snaring.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
This is Petros and money on Demand.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Petro Some Money a five seventy el A Sports Live
Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Dodgers trying to bounce back
from a tough loss last night and when Diaz blew
it and now the Dodgers have to win all three
to get out of this with the best record in
baseball and Dodgers on deck is at six first pitch
coming up from the galpin Ford Broadcast booth just after
seven pm, right around seven to ten pm with the

(14:56):

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Speaking of that dealership. Keates is going to be there

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Can't say it enough.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Sean Green with Austin Barnes Food games, game tickets at

Speaker 3 (15:20):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
That's true. That's true. That's true. That's truth. Don't forget

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Double up Dodger Talk on Saturday. How about that ten

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Hey, at least the second one is in in the
air conditioning.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
If you like to dial it back on Saturday, then
the weekend.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
That's also true. I guess you're right. Double slap in
the face. Okay, don't forget to podcast the show on
the iHeartRadio app for your smartphone. You can listen to
it live there or podcast it for later, much like
ice cream in the refrigerator or the freezer. Better to
put it in the freezer. All right, it's time for

(16:12):
the FlipTop story of the day. I'll I will put
you out. This is the flip top story of the day.
It's good time to check in with Coach Prime. It's
always a good time to check in with Coach Prime.
So let's shimmy our shoulder over to Boulder.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
I like that, Thank you. That is good delivery.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Right now, let's check in with Colorado and Coach PRIMEE
Matt on Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Things seem to be going swimmingly well.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
On Tuesday, August eleventh, at Franklin Field, Coach Prime opened
up his practice like coach prima clause for everybody to
see his diminutive team and let fans and yes, even
the me who he has sparred with in the area.

(17:04):
There the Denver area, everybody could attend. Everybody was allowed
to come to this practice. But they made a huge
and reminds me of a sanctions USC era where you
had to go through all these hoops just to show
up stuff that you have to do for USC to
be at a game as a media member that you

(17:26):
don't have to do for literally any other college on earth.
This to me felt a lot like that. If you
remember living through that era, man, and I know you do.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
I do, yeah, remember it well?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
What you could and couldn't do was quite interesting. At
this practice on this Tuesday last at Coach Prime's house,
they said you can't film, which is reasonable, record report
and no phones, no cameras, no coming out of there

(18:05):
and reporting and saying if a guy did well or
a guy didn't do well, or this guy looked good,
or practice look fast or slow. No recording devices and
my favorite is no note.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Taking, no note taking.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Correct no note taking.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
You will write your summary from memory and memory only.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
And no Max Mercy style sketching. I'm not kidding. No
sketching or court sketch style of like ditties trial. No sketch,
no so, no colored pencils, no paints, just your raw

(18:52):
dog eyes. Nothing in your pants, no phone, nothing, no
tape recorder from back in the day with a handle
on it and the record button right which was orange.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
I feel like maybe somebody just dumped some prompts into
cloud or something like that, and uh, like, how do
we limit journalism in covering our organization? And they pulled
some stuff from like the seventeen hundreds and put it
in there.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
You could just well back in the seventh you couldn't
you know there were no phones in the seventeen hundreds.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
You know, it's like, oh yeah, no sketching, No sketching.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
There is like it's gonna be like a Civil war painting.
Here is Tuesday's practice Bob.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Mountain doing over there. Oh he's doing a mini watercolor
of specialtys lyned his easel.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
No, it's ill. You can't do that. Just your raw eyes,
like a concert before smartphones. Just your raw face to
absorb it. And if you are even caught drawing a picture,
even a picture of a.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Puzzo, what are you drawing there, Penis.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Here's what you're subject to, Matt. Well, obviously you know
when you tell people they can't draw a picture, the
first thing they're gonna do is draw a picture.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Of a pusa. Not even close.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
You could be subjected to removal, credential revocation, or future
access restrictions.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Oh yeah, you know what they don't worry about tomorrow.
It's not here yet.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Well, you're right, coach, this could be his last year
and then you might be able to come back. Right,
But it doesn't look like anybody got in trouble because
this thing was last the Tuesday. Other than the fact
that this is obviously hilarious, Matt, I don't think it's
going to help Colorado beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta on
September third. My friend, they have the second year quarterback

(20:59):
Julian UIs, who is their big recruit. He started four
games last year and then red shirted, so he's technically
still a freshman. And they have former UNLVOC and sack
State head coach Brennan Marion. That your guy calling the plays.
He's the only offensive coordinator I've ever known to wear

(21:20):
a giant Jesus piece while coaching other than coach Prime, right,
so he has the go go offense. And the smart
people in football that are predicting these early games have
predicted that the Jackets could run the ball maybe fifty
to sixty times in that game.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
They were good last year. I remember they were like,
what top ten teamers.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
When they had that guy Hayes King, you know, yeah,
we had just scored in the Hall of Fame game
that wiry, angry quarterback.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Went at it with Carson Beck out there.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Yeah, the Buffs having a great transfer receiver Danny Scudero
from San Jose State that not gonna see play for
San Jose Boards together. No, he's not there anymore. He's
thicking pops and he's expected to have a big year
in the Go Go. Although much like the rest of
Colorado's team, Danny Scudero is diminutive. He is he's not

(22:17):
a big guy, but he's a great player that he's
not big. But if you draw a picture of that guy, bang,
your credential is revoked and you go to Coach Prime jail.
September third, Georgia Tech. Obviously it's an ESPN game. Coach
Prime's fourth year begins as he dates Carucci Trail.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
You've brought me through some tough times girl, the diaper times.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Well yeah, but found a way to get a spontor times,
found a way to get a sponsorship. Uh Matt to Lsu.
Jayden Daniels is not happy his mother. It's likely behind
all of it is very controlling.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Much is one of the greatest stories, and the trolling
of Jaden Daniels and the fallout from the snarky folks
on social media has been sensational.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
If it wasn't for Jaden Daniels, coach Prime gets the
Idiot of the Week in Football award, right right, no question.
But now it's not a close second. It is second.
But it's not close though, because Jaden Daniels is the
biggest football idiot of the week. An attorney representing the

(23:30):
Washington Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels and his mom has informed
LSU that it can no longer use his name, image,
and likeness. The center of the dispute is that the
Tigers are allowing sophomore corner dj Pickett to wear the
number five jersey that Daniels wore when he became LSU's
third Heisman winner in twenty twenty three. Well, daniels jersey

(23:54):
has not been retired by the Tigers. It is the
first time a player's war number five since he left
program for the NFL only two years ago. Would you
let me to read this statement, I would love it.
You know these people are local. The Daniels family is
deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected by LSU's decision to

(24:18):
give Jaden's number to another player. Jayden and his family
have every reason to believe that his number would remain
a meaningful part of his LSU legacy and would be
honored and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to
the university. Jayden has since come out and released the statement,
saying he locked in on a training camp, so he's

(24:42):
not really worried about this, and his people are handling
it and Lane Kiffin is saying that he has nothing
to do with this. Said it was promised to a
player before he took the LSU job. DJ is in
number five and that was the situation that was promised
to him recruiting here, for him to sign here. I've
done a lot of research on that with the family

(25:04):
and the representatives and the people, So really I didn't
have a decision to make. He's kind of washing his
hand like ponscious pilot.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Matt understandable.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
I was promised, it was promised to the kid. It
wasn't It wasn't done for whatever reason. I'm not going
to get into that. So uh. Jaden Daniel's mom has
is notorious. There's notorious stories about her, many of which
became public from the time at Arizona State terrorizing her

(25:34):
medwords his staff. Now, of course, he wasn't very good
there and he was misused, I guess, and he went
to LSU and won the heisman, so maybe him and
his mother were right, but they were reportedly an absolute
nightmare when he was in Arizona State. And then of

(25:57):
course you see the stories and you see the mom
hanging around. But this is about the dumbest approach you
could ever have with a place that you had success,
that you can go and make money at. If you
keep a good relationship with a lah Matt Liiner for
the rest of your life, you can make money with

(26:18):
the university you want a heisman with, and to alienate
them right away, especially when they have a coach like
Lane Kiffin who doesn't care about what anybody else ever
did about anything but him suffer. Why would you pick
this fight? And look this petty, Joe Burrow's number isn't
isn't retired.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
And Joe Burrow at all Burrow's number has not been
issued and all the tig of fans pushed back and
said it's arguably the greatest season in the history of
college football a quarterback. Maybe let's not do the Joe
Burrow thing.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Here, right, And he doesn't even care and he doesn't
you know, I mean it's just it's so, it's just
it's a bad look for a local QB. I'll just
say that.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
I think of all my favorite ones that I saw,
you know, they have like, oh, I heard five guys
has to change their name to four guys. But this
was my favorite one. Gave a homeless man a five
dollars bill and Jade and Daniel's mom came out the
bush and shot me.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
It's a bad look for a local guy, Matt. It's
a it's a it's a terrible story of a very
controlling parent. Yes, but you know what, she was right
about everything she said at Arizona State. I'm gonna have
him transfer. He's gonna do well somewhere else. Take him.
Can't take it, then damn it. If he didn't. And
then herm lost the Eastern Michigan he got fired.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Terrible, tough go for her, you know, a terrible service. Horrible.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
All right, Well, there's a little college football action for
you around the world, So warm up for the college
football whips that will be coming, and then we will
do the lessons learning great sports talk coming up, it's
Petrosen Money on a five seventy your home of Dodger Baseball,
Dodgers Brewers.

Speaker 7 (28:06):
Tonight this is Petrols and Money on Demand Petrust Some Money,
AM five seventy LA Sports Live Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Three more with the Brewers through the weekend, and a
double up of Dodgers on Deck. We keep talking about it.
Go see Tim Kates. He's going to do it twice,
not just at three o'clock heading into the four to
fifteen first start from Robleski, but at ten am at
the gallpin Ford eightieth anniversary celebration with Austin Barnes and
Sean Green giving away tickets, food available, games available, all

(28:46):
of that and Tim Kates right off the four h
five at Roscoe gallpin Ford's eightieth anniversary celebration.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
What a time it's going to be, and what a
time we've had this week. Matt and I the show
has done three remotes in six shows. Uh to do
all family business at the end of the summer. It's
like when Michael Corleone was at the baptism and they're

(29:13):
shooting all the guys. They're taking care of all the
family business. So we've been all about and around town
and we will do the lessons learned for a wild
week in Great Sports Talk.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
MK Twitter about tail pictures.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
I guess he delivered a really sick learn no concerns
since ah the lessons learned In Great Sports Talk. On Tuesday,
we were out at Dodger Stadium and we interviewed Mookie
Bats for Corona Find Your Plaia and Mookie Bats discussed how,

(29:50):
oh that's right, Lexiona Uno, excuse me, Lesson.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
One they scope let's say, on.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Sign me Mookie Bats on the villain roll and how
he handles it. You guys don't really fit the villain bill. Yeah,
you know, how do you guys? How do you process that?
Or you just shrugging off or.

Speaker 8 (30:13):
We just shrug it off because it's like, I mean,
if you go around and look all the teams, they
like talking to us, you know, and we we enjoy
uh when people get on base, we're talking laughing when
you know, we go to all MLB Awards or any anywhere,
like we're talking to guys and so there's no bad

(30:34):
dudes out there. So being the villains for what I
don't fully know, but it is. Yeah, I guess it
is what we're supposed to lose.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
So Lesson too.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Next, Yon Doors d.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
H Speaking of lapply on Matt we had a film
noir corner and we reviewed the great movie Lifeguard with
Sam Elliott shot right at Torrance Beach, but this scene
is not at the Torrents Beach with it's peaceful and
beautiful with hot chicks in the seventies. This scene is
with his angry dad and his nervous mother at dinner

(31:12):
while his dad's talking about how great his brother's doing,
and he gets grilled for still being a lifeguard in
his early thirties.

Speaker 9 (31:18):
Rank from shit about last week. He's fine.

Speaker 10 (31:24):
He's working up at school doing some kind of research.

Speaker 9 (31:26):
He says he's working real hard.

Speaker 11 (31:29):
One more year and he starts raking it in. Says
he'll have no problem starting somewhere around fifteen hundred a month.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yeah, good, brother makes good.

Speaker 9 (31:40):
Money isn't everything, It's most things.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Believe me.

Speaker 11 (31:44):
Don't ever put down financial security. I know what money
can do without us. You're lost dead. You know, let's
do is no recipe of Grandma's.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
No.

Speaker 11 (31:58):
Okay, you put it anyway, little, You better start now.
Things aren't getting any easier. Everyone's sweating these days. I
put in twenty three years in the same place and
now I've got to worry about being cut back. And
the damnedest thing of all is if I get canned,
I stand to lose my pension.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Twenty three years down the drain.

Speaker 11 (32:20):
It's no fair, you said, the world's got to be fair.

Speaker 9 (32:24):
Anybody likes some ice cream on their pie.

Speaker 11 (32:29):
You're not a kid at the beach anymore.

Speaker 9 (32:31):
Oh, I'm doing what I want to do. Father, a
little able, do you?

Speaker 2 (32:35):
That's the problem right there? No discipline? You know it's crazy.

Speaker 11 (32:40):
I still wonder what you're going to be when you
grow up.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Saving lives.

Speaker 7 (32:45):
Dad, A little debble, do you?

Speaker 3 (32:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Ice cream's not working? Mom said, the world's gotta be fair, Yeah, dad,
real good, less than three h let's earn it today. Matt,
you weren't here on Wednesday, and it's sad that you weren't. Yeah, well,

(33:11):
not accepted. It's sad that you weren't here because you missed.
Tim Kats's top story of the day on how the
Dodgers are like Thanos.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
If the twenty twenty six Dodgers were a comic book villain,
who would they?

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Would they?

Speaker 7 (33:27):
Just?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
The answer is simple?

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Is it? Bane? When he takes over Gotham?

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Thanos, Oh the hand guy.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Yeah, not the Green Goblin, not the Joker, not Lex Luthor,
Thanos all the crystals.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
Hear the similarities.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
Thanos is obsessed with collecting the Infinity Stones, like the
Dodgers and players. The Dodgers obsessed with collecting baseball talent.
Tanos wants to assimble enough power to control universe. The
Dodgers want to as simple enough talent to control october
Santos believes that once he has all the pieces, resistance
becomes almost pointless. The Dodgers are creative Roster or port.

(34:00):
You're looking at each other saying how do we beat
this rock?

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Yeah, and struggling with his own immortality, right, Like he's
he's he's got, like he's more, he's a more philosophical,
Like I'm not a big I didn't watch The Avengers
because I stopped watching the comic book movies because I
feel like they ruined what I grew up with and love,
and they bastardized it and popularized it and made it suck.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
You use a lot of big words, necessarily speaking to you, Petrov, Yeah,
he talking to you, man, He's talking to the listeners.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Fantas DoD Dodgers or Thanos.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Makes sense.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
You guys missed that while playing Man.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
I mean, you know my comic book character that I
go to a pleasure suit Larry who they were?

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Wasnt there were a comic book or just the.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Video It might have just been the video game, but.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
It felt like was there a plot line there just
waiting for the boobs less than four lexion quadro Don
McLain in public on the Laker sale.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Any of us, if we could flip a two billion
dollar profit in one year, would probably do it. But
I think there's more to the story to that. And
there is one thing I thought about today p which
I don't know if this will ever come out. I
don't know if he'll talk about it more. But you wondered,
like Mark Walter has had so much success with the Dodgers,
and we were talking about it earlier because they have

(35:26):
so much money, because they can get whoever they want
because their roster's so loaded. There's no salarycap in baseball,
and I just wonder if Mark Walter liked that business.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Model a lot.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Obviously did because they're winning championships. You move over to
the NBA, there's a salary cap and you can't just
throw money and outspend everyone. You could, but it's so
astronomical when you get into the aprons, the first apron,
second apron, that it just doesn't make any sense even
if you are a contender, which really the Lakers aren't
right now. They're a good team, but not a contending team.

(35:59):
So I wonder if mare Walter is kind of like, well,
I can't outspend everyone to win a championship with the Lakers.
Maybe I'm not that interested. Eiger and Kushner want this thing.
I'll flip it two to two billion dollar profit and
go back to the Dodgers, where I can outspend everyone
and win championships. Because until I hate to say it,
there's probably gonna be a lockout next year in baseball,

(36:23):
and so he goes back to that and they'll just
keep winning. So that I thought about that today.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
It's a difference of opinion, obviously, but there's one theory
among many Matt listens infants of them lockout. I know
what's gonna give it, Fitch guys by no more money,
trap down.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Out lesson Fine, that's unachan.

Speaker 9 (36:55):
Oral.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Hersheiser on getting a star on the Hollywood walk.

Speaker 9 (37:02):
It is remarkable that all of the people that have
contributed to my life and I've kind of listened to
and been mentored by and failed and then got back
up and you know, tried to succeed, all the teammates
I've had, all the organization. You know, if they could
put another word on that star other than my name
right above it, it should say Dodger because there's gonna

(37:24):
be so many people walk by.

Speaker 10 (37:25):
It and go, who is this Oral Herscheizer?

Speaker 9 (37:28):
You know, who was this guy?

Speaker 10 (37:31):
Because it's it's international people that are walking over there
with the Walk of Fame. The Hollywood draws everybody, So
I am I'm just so humbled. But it is definitely
an accumulation of all the people that have helped me
along the way.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Congratulations they congratulations, Yes, Oral Hersheyser.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
I wish we could have been there to enjoy the proceedings.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Well, I mean it's you could see. You know, what
you didn't do for Oral, you can do for Sean
Green and Austin Barnes and Tim Kats tomorrow and we
shall return with more great sports talk, a whole hour
with the quick hits and the final hour fun Fact
and Dave's gonna join us live from Dodgers Stadium. We'll
do the Dead and Alive Guy Birthday of the Day,

(38:12):
and then we'll say good night. Timkates will take over
with Marango Casino Dodgers on deck. Stay with us on
a frog Man Friday.
