Yes, it was texted, tweeted, posted, instagrammed. All the Chicago
Bears outlets posted the official statement from the team from
the McCaskey family from Kevin Warren, the president of the Bears,
that the board of directors voted to advance their stadium
development and Hammond, Indiana. The exact site still to be determined,

but pretty much a giant swath of unoccupied land for
them to choose from right across the state line. It
is the first time the Bears board has voted on
any stadium site. They had previously said that Chicago was
off the table. It was between Arlington Heights and Hammond. Quote.
We believe a world class stadium project in Hammond will

transform the region connecting northwest Indiana and the south side
of Chicago through the loop across the neighborhoods and suburbs
stretching north of the city. That was George McCaskey, along
with CEO Kevin Warren, Governor of Indiana Mike Brawn was
on AM five to seventy yearlier today with Colin Coward.

A lot of the due diligence has already been done,
and in a real estate deal of this magnitude, we
had to have the other entity. The City of Hammond,
and Mayor McDermott has been as accommodating as a state
government has.

So we've gone through most of that.

The critical point, I think for the League and for
the Bears was to get this decision happening because it
kind of closes the deal and now the urgency of
what needs to be done will be done on any
big operation, big real estate deal. Make sure you your I,
cross your t's, do the due diligence, because we got

plenty of time. I think their lease runs through thirty three.
Probably take a couple three years to build it, so
we got time to do it right, build it out properly,
make sure we get all the surrounding economic development done well.
And by the way, that's going to be easy. In
a state like Indiana where our Economic Development Commission I,

as a governor a legislator, that is going to be agile.
I think they thought about what the process remaining was
going to be like, what the next fifty years are
going to be like, and I said, all along, they'll come.

say to somebody that lives in the North Burbs will
met Kenilworth and they say, oh, I got to get
all the way to ham in Indiana, what would you
say to that?

Well, what I would say to everybody in the central
part of Chicago and South which I've got a feeling
a preponderance of the fans come from It's going to
be easier to come to Hammond because you're coming in
by train, by any way you choose to do it,
it would take less time than going from Soldiers Field

up to Arlington Heights. So yes, for some folks Center North,
it'll be a little different, but you've got ways there
with your train system. We've got now trains that go
right near where the stadium's going to be built. And
plus once you get there, you're gonna have an elbow room.
There's gonna be tailgating going on. You couldn't do that.

It was a logistics feat to get the Soldiers Field
and think about how much more stadium you're going to
get built for the money in a place that's got
a much lower cost of living, in an economy that's
on fire.

it would be like saying, what about the people in Malibu,
What about the people in homes that is it is
the richest suburb north of the city Chicago. What about

on the other hand, at twelve to two thumping at

two in a row if they are to make their
first trip to the College World Series.

Yesterday, there was a crazy fight I saw this on
when it was happening on social media in the playoff
game between Roosevelt High School and Verdugo Hills High School.
The fracas took place after an exchange between a Verdugo
Hills base runner and an infielder. The Verdugo Hills base
runner was caught in a rundown some people would call

a pickle between third base and home plate. The runner
collided with a Roosevelt infielder attempting to make the tag
at third base. Punches were then thrown immediately and the
benches cleared. It happened fast, and coaches and an administration
tried to calm things down, but when the dust settled,
the umpires sent everybody home. Verdugo was a head five

to one and on the verge of reaching the Division
five Regional Championship against Coastal Academy of Ocean Side. But
now everybody's had to forfeit and Coastal Academy has been
declared the D five Regional champions and the advanced to
the State Championship.

parts a lot of aggression, Matt, A lot of agg
in softball. There's aggression. You know, what did the coach say?

to so many relief pitchers and closers over the years
that say, I deleted my social media because you can't
look at those messages, whether it's you, your family members,
it can't get back to you. Because these guys are human,
of course it's going to be in the back of
their head. And honestly, last night Tanner Scott looked like
last year's Tanner Scott. He didn't put that pitch in

the right spot. Even Dave Roberts said that Kutell Marte
is tough on lefties and when you throw a fastball
down and in, he's going to do what he did
last night. So I kind of feel like last night,
and going back to last week against the Phillies where
at Mundo Sosa hit that go ahead two run home run,
the bitch selection, and maybe Tanner Scott's lack of conviction

with some of those pitches that are being called that
are ill advised have contributed to his last two rough outings,
because he pitched well in the one other appearance he
had against the Diamondbacks. But that's something that I feel like,
with what he said after the game last night, makes
makes me think that there was a little bit of
doubt behind throwing that pitch.

And Dave he's not alone. Now, look the I guess,
you know, kind of the level that we're holding this
bullpen to after going thirty plus scoreless straight might be
a little unfair. But it feels like, you know, everyone's
kind of had and it's not like, like you said,
like Tanner Scott had had a solid outing between those two,
Kyle Hurtz had a hiccup. Will Klein seems like he's

lost a little bit there. Jack Dryano just came back,
but he had one. Vessia had one, like they're all having.
Like it feels like it's not consistent. Do you feel
like that's just sort of the way baseball averages out.

Yeah, these guys are not going to put up zeros
for fifty nine consecutive scoreless innings thirty eight is an
all time Dodger franchise record. So they were pitching out
of their mind. They were in that proverbial zone that
hitters get into. I feel like the relievers were in
that zone. But Will Klein gave up his first career
home run to Corbyn Carroll last night. That's not something

we've seen ever, obviously, and his fastball just seems to
be a little flat these days. The one guy that
Dave Roberts really shined a light on that you guys
may not know about, and most Dodger fans don't know
anything about, is Jonathan Hernandez. But the Dodgers picked up
after the Phillies allowed to be out of his contract,

and he's pitched really well. So he may be one
of those guys that we've never heard of that turns
into Evan Phillips or Will Klein or Alex Vesias. I
would say he's one guy that's been pitching well.

Is there a blister update.

Dave, We do have a blister update. Dave Roberts told
me yesterday that Otani's blister is not concerning and it's
very small, And I asked him whether or not that
means that it's not rich Hill level blister. And he
was shocked that I would reference rich Hill in the

moment there amongst all the rest of the media. But hey,
when you think about blisters and Dodgers, you think about
so yeah, that's the spectrum, the rich Hill blister spectrum.
And he said, no, it's nowhere near that level. And basically,
Mark Gubiza told me that Otani did have the same

blister on the same area of his right middle finger
back in twenty eighteen with the Angels, and that was
caused by throwing the split fingered fastball. And I actually
Richell actually called me during lunch today and I let
him know that I'm keeping his name alive, and he
said that, yes, that type of blister would occur with
a cutter, with a slider, with a splitter. So that's

where that small blister has come back on Otani's right
middle finger.

They get the split in Arizona, Dave, and now they
get the Angels. It was thirty one to three between
the three games and Anaheim a couple weeks ago. Are
these Angels just as bad? Does it feel like a
thirty one to three offensive exhibition is in the cards
yet again.

Well, you know what the biggest difference in this series
compared to.

I mean, the Angels are really bad, so I don't
see the reason why the Dodgers wouldn't sweep this three
game series. Rookie on the mound tonight. Yamamoto's pitching in
this series, so it would be a huge upset if
the Angels took one of these games.

You hear the voice of David Masse of course, Dave
is Munsey beat up and is he gonna get suspended?

He's not playing tonight, And no, he's not getting suspended.
He did not run into Vargas intentionally. In fact, the
Diamondbacks manager Tory Leavello said that was all on Vargas,
who was not very experienced at first base. He either
a should have slid to avoid that type of collision,
or B his pitcher, Ryan Nelson was nowhere to be found.

He should have been covering first base. Monthy and Vargas
just seemed to be in that situation where you know
you're walking towards somebody on the strand, in your case, Petros,
and you're both coming at each other. You're thinking one's
gonna go the other way, but instead you both go
the same way all the time. Yeah, that's what that's
what happened. That's what happened.

over to Vargas as a peace offering, even though he

you can imagine that's kind of like a car crash situation.
I'm sure there's a lot of sore, sore muscle, sore chest.

But the good news is neither guy had a concussion
after they were tested for it yesterday.

Barton Junior. He was born in the Big Town. Parents
had money. Barton developed an early fascination with the ocean
and underwater exploration. On this Frogman Friday as a teen,

he experimented being a frogman homemade diving equipment, spent considerable
time studying engineering that would allow him to spend time underwater.
That got him to Harvard. His passion for the sea
led him to create a vessel that could safely withstand
the immense pressures of the deep. In the late nineteen twenties,

Barton reached out to renowned naturalist and explore William beebe
Oh bebe Bb loved the deep and he wanted to
go to the deep.

In nineteen forty nine he designs and pilots and improves
submersible he called the Benthoscope, and in this he went
to depths of forty five hundred feet, setting in a
new world record in the Pacific Ocean for deep sea descent.
He was the king of undersea exploration engineering. On top
of that, a great writer published his tales of deep

sea exploration that were consumed by the masses. As a filmmaker,
he appeared in and contributed to the film Titans of
the Deep, which dramatized their expeditions.

Bears outlets posted the official statement from the team from
the McCaskey family from Kevin Warren, the president of the Bears,
that the board of directors voted to advance their stadium
development and Hammond, Indiana. The exact site still to be determined,

but pretty much a giant swath of unoccupied land for
them to choose from right across the state line. It
is the first time the Bears board has voted on
any stadium site. They had previously said that Chicago was
off the table. It was between Arlington Heights and Hammond. Quote.
We believe a world class stadium project in Hammond will

transform the region connecting northwest Indiana and the south side
of Chicago through the loop across the neighborhoods and suburbs
stretching north of the city. That was George McCaskey, along
with CEO Kevin Warren, Governor of Indiana Mike Brawn was
on AM five to seventy yearlier today with Colin Coward.

A lot of the due diligence has already been done,
and in a real estate deal of this magnitude, we
had to have the other entity. The City of Hammond,
and Mayor McDermott has been as accommodating as a state
government has.

So we've gone through most of that.

The critical point, I think for the League and for
the Bears was to get this decision happening because it
kind of closes the deal and now the urgency of
what needs to be done will be done on any
big operation, big real estate deal. Make sure you your I,
cross your t's, do the due diligence, because we got

plenty of time. I think their lease runs through thirty three.
Probably take a couple three years to build it, so
we got time to do it right, build it out properly,
make sure we get all the surrounding economic development done well.
And by the way, that's going to be easy. In
a state like Indiana where our Economic Development Commission I,

as a governor a legislator, that is going to be agile.
I think they thought about what the process remaining was
going to be like, what the next fifty years are
going to be like, and I said, all along, they'll come.

And then callin following up with this, What would you
say to somebody that lives in the North Burbs will
met Kenilworth and they say, oh, I got to get
all the way to ham in Indiana, what would you
say to that?

part of Chicago and South which I've got a feeling
a preponderance of the fans come from It's going to
be easier to come to Hammond because you're coming in
by train, by any way you choose to do it,
it would take less time than going from Soldiers Field

up to Arlington Heights. So yes, for some folks Center North,
it'll be a little different, but you've got ways there
with your train system. We've got now trains that go
right near where the stadium's going to be built. And
plus once you get there, you're gonna have an elbow room.
There's gonna be tailgating going on. You couldn't do that.

It was a logistics feat to get the Soldiers Field
and think about how much more stadium you're going to
get built for the money in a place that's got
a much lower cost of living, in an economy that's
on fire.

it would be like saying, what about the people in Malibu,
What about the people in homes that is it is
the richest suburb north of the city Chicago. What about

Yesterday, there was a crazy fight I saw this on
when it was happening on social media in the playoff
game between Roosevelt High School and Verdugo Hills High School.
The fracas took place after an exchange between a Verdugo
Hills base runner and an infielder. The Verdugo Hills base
runner was caught in a rundown some people would call

a pickle between third base and home plate. The runner
collided with a Roosevelt infielder attempting to make the tag
at third base. Punches were then thrown immediately and the
benches cleared. It happened fast, and coaches and an administration
tried to calm things down, but when the dust settled,

to one and on the verge of reaching the Division
five Regional Championship against Coastal Academy of Ocean Side. But
now everybody's had to forfeit and Coastal Academy has been
declared the D five Regional champions and the advanced to
the State Championship.

I feel like the more you talk about it or
shine a light on those type of things, the more
unwanted attention you bring to people that just crossed the line.
And maybe they're just one or two people, but all
of a sudden, you create a big storm that you
don't really need if you're a closer, especially, I've talked

to so many relief pitchers and closers over the years
that say, I deleted my social media because you can't
look at those messages, whether it's you, your family members,
it can't get back to you. Because these guys are human,
of course it's going to be in the back of
their head. And honestly, last night Tanner Scott looked like
last year's Tanner Scott. He didn't put that pitch in

the right spot. Even Dave Roberts said that Kutell Marte
is tough on lefties and when you throw a fastball
down and in, he's going to do what he did
last night. So I kind of feel like last night,
and going back to last week against the Phillies where
at Mundo Sosa hit that go ahead two run home run,
the bitch selection, and maybe Tanner Scott's lack of conviction

with some of those pitches that are being called that
are ill advised have contributed to his last two rough outings,
because he pitched well in the one other appearance he
had against the Diamondbacks. But that's something that I feel like,
with what he said after the game last night, makes
makes me think that there was a little bit of
doubt behind throwing that pitch.

And Dave he's not alone. Now, look the I guess,
you know, kind of the level that we're holding this
bullpen to after going thirty plus scoreless straight might be
a little unfair. But it feels like, you know, everyone's
kind of had and it's not like, like you said,
like Tanner Scott had had a solid outing between those two,
Kyle Hurtz had a hiccup. Will Klein seems like he's

lost a little bit there. Jack Dryano just came back,
but he had one. Vessia had one, like they're all having.
Like it feels like it's not consistent. Do you feel
like that's just sort of the way baseball averages out.

Yeah, these guys are not going to put up zeros
for fifty nine consecutive scoreless innings thirty eight is an
all time Dodger franchise record. So they were pitching out
of their mind. They were in that proverbial zone that
hitters get into. I feel like the relievers were in
that zone. But Will Klein gave up his first career
home run to Corbyn Carroll last night. That's not something

we've seen ever, obviously, and his fastball just seems to
be a little flat these days. The one guy that
Dave Roberts really shined a light on that you guys
may not know about, and most Dodger fans don't know
anything about, is Jonathan Hernandez. But the Dodgers picked up
after the Phillies allowed to be out of his contract,

and he's pitched really well. So he may be one
of those guys that we've never heard of that turns
into Evan Phillips or Will Klein or Alex Vesias. I
would say he's one guy that's been pitching well.

Dave, We do have a blister update. Dave Roberts told
me yesterday that Otani's blister is not concerning and it's
very small, And I asked him whether or not that
means that it's not rich Hill level blister. And he
was shocked that I would reference rich Hill in the

moment there amongst all the rest of the media. But hey,
when you think about blisters and Dodgers, you think about
so yeah, that's the spectrum, the rich Hill blister spectrum.
And he said, no, it's nowhere near that level. And basically,
Mark Gubiza told me that Otani did have the same

blister on the same area of his right middle finger
back in twenty eighteen with the Angels, and that was
caused by throwing the split fingered fastball. And I actually
Richell actually called me during lunch today and I let
him know that I'm keeping his name alive, and he
said that, yes, that type of blister would occur with
a cutter, with a slider, with a splitter. So that's

where that small blister has come back on Otani's right
middle finger.

They get the split in Arizona, Dave, and now they
get the Angels. It was thirty one to three between
the three games and Anaheim a couple weeks ago. Are
these Angels just as bad? Does it feel like a
thirty one to three offensive exhibition is in the cards
yet again.

Well, you know what the biggest difference in this series
compared to.

He did not run into Vargas intentionally. In fact, the
Diamondbacks manager Tory Leavello said that was all on Vargas,
who was not very experienced at first base. He either
a should have slid to avoid that type of collision,
or B his pitcher, Ryan Nelson was nowhere to be found.

He should have been covering first base. Monthy and Vargas
just seemed to be in that situation where you know
you're walking towards somebody on the strand, in your case, Petros,
and you're both coming at each other. You're thinking one's
gonna go the other way, but instead you both go

time studying engineering that would allow him to spend time underwater.
That got him to Harvard. His passion for the sea
led him to create a vessel that could safely withstand
the immense pressures of the deep. In the late nineteen twenties,

Barton reached out to renowned naturalist and explore William beebe

go to the deep.

of three thousand feet in nineteen thirty four. Their observations
transformed scientific understanding of deep ocean ecosystems, demonstrated that there
was in fact, complex marine life existing at depths previously

In nineteen forty nine he designs and pilots and improves
submersible he called the Benthoscope, and in this he went
to depths of forty five hundred feet, setting in a
new world record in the Pacific Ocean for deep sea descent.
He was the king of undersea exploration engineering. On top
of that, a great writer published his tales of deep

sea exploration that were consumed by the masses. As a filmmaker,
he appeared in and contributed to the film Titans of
the Deep, which dramatized their expeditions.

going three thousand feet deep in a death ball.

knew what the ocean possessed, the magical powers we humans

also set the record for an individual stream viewership, which
