lot of offense, a lot of excitement around the offensive line,
new defensive coordinator as well, a lot of action on
the defensive side of the ball. No starters for the
most part. A couple guys played a couple plays, but

outside of that, mostly second and third stringers. But they
put up nearly four hundred yards of offense and after
the opening drive, I think they only allowed one hundred yards.
The defense only allowed one hundred yards after that opening
drive of offense to their opponents. So a lot of
fun and most importantly, nobody got hurt, got out of
that without any injuries. They will play the forty nine

ers as they have a joint practice on Tuesday with
San Francisco, and then we'll play them as a home
game at SOFI Stadium on Thursday.

calls for an hour, fans screaming for Tanner Scott to
be the Dodgers closer, when a year ago at this
time they were screaming for Tanner Scott never to show

his face again at Dodgers Stadium, and now the fans,
the wolves, they want Tanner Scott to get the ninth
inning again. And look last night when Dave Roberts was
asking the media what's the better option, I think it's
pretty obvious Tanner Scott's the only option right now with
the way the rest of the relievers are performing.

Yeah, Dave, And you know, like you said, look, last
year was last year, this year was this year. I
know he had a couple bumps, and especially early on,
there was a real unfortunate blown save that seemed like
social media really got on him, but he settled in.
Since do you think they make that move. It's not
like Edwin Diaz is a twenty one year old with
a fragile, you know, ego or attitude. I would assume,

And it sounded like when he was talking to you
guys that he was accepting of whatever the heck they
want to do in these last four appearances he's had
in his era that's ballooning into I don't know, twelve
thirteen territory.

Yeah, he was. He understands the situation. And look, I
think we all take for granted the fact this guy
had pretty major surgery three months ago. I know, we
try to brush it off like, oh, it's just loose bodies,
you know, no big deal. Well it is a big
deal when it's your pitching arm and that's what you
do for a living and you're getting the most high

leverage outs of a game with the game.

So I feel like it's a lot to ask. And
he's a professional, no doubt about it, But it is
a lot to ask. Three months removed from surgery to
go right into the fire, and the Dodgers tried it.
It hasn't gone that well, So I could. I can
understand Dave Roberts and Andrew Freeman talking about other options

to get the last not only three outs, but six outs,
because you know, if you take Tanner Scott out of
the seventh or eighth inning high leverage spots to get
the game to the ninth inning, who are you using
in those spots? And I think that's what Dave Roberts
point was last night. Okay, you want me to take
Tanner Scott out of that role to put him in
the ninth inning. Who's getting those outs in the seventh

and eighth inning if it's not Tanner Scott. And if
Tanner Scott comes out tonight, pitches the ninth inning and
blows the save, our fan's gonna say, go back to
Edwin Diaz. You can't manage that way.

saw it last year, right, we were talking about it
earlier with Tanner Scott. It's like, yeah, dude, you're not
pitching anymore, You're not closing out.

We've seen that. Like, what do you think the approach
is here?

Well, yes, they really do.

They don't really have a high leverage right handed reliever
that has performed all that well all season long. They
thought brock Stewart could be that guy. He's been on
the eye for the majority of the year. Evan Phillips
still coming back after not pitching for two years, also
having major arm surgery, Blake Trinan on the IL. I mean,

there's a lot of miles on that arm. So they
need Edwin Diaz. Whether it's in the ninth inning or
in the seventh inning. They need him. I mean, he's
a big part of this bullpen. They've got to get
him right, and maybe that is the best way to
do it, is to get him into those seventh inning
situations where if he does falter, there are options behind
him and it gives the offense a chance to come

back if it doesn't go as well. But certainly the
ninth inning is a lot different than the seventh inning.
They need Edwin Diaz and to get through the rest
of the regular season, there's no ways around that. Once
you get to the postseason. We've seen the Dodgers use
Rokie last year. They've pieced it together in other ways,
so the postseason is a different animal. I'm just talking

about getting through the rest of the regular season. And look,
it's not like the Dodgers fell apart with Diz on
the I l he was out for three months and
they just kept going and going and expanding their lead. So, uh,
this is a pretty good team, and there's ways to
skin a cat. There's different ways to get the final six.

but the Dodger offense only Mustard four hits and it
took a pinch hit, three run home run from Max
Munsey to give the Dodgers the lead. So I know
it was the Royals and the Dodgers offense kind of

looked like it was getting back. But last night it
was not a good showing. Only four hits last night.
It's got to be better tonight. It's got to be
better the rest of the year.

so good at that they made him their London correspondent.
He was so good at that the New York Times

all of Shakespeare. For one thing, it's terribly demanding physically.
Yet it's a role for an old man, ideally a
very old man, a man on the verge of sonility.

By the time an actor is old enough to play
Lear persuasively, his physical powers have inevitably declined. Tonight you'll
see Ian Holme in the role. He was sixty six
when he first played this Lear in nineteen ninety seven
at London's Royal National Theal, and he played it with
astonishing energy, even managing to shock some in the audience

by playing one scene in the nude faithful to Shakespeare's
direction that Lear tear off his clothes during a violent storm.
What you'll see tonight is a television adaptation of that production.
Shakespeare's tragedies are always about great men with human weaknesses
that destroy them and almost everybody around them spotting the

fatal flaws of this wilful old king. I leave to you,
But for those unfamiliar with King Lear, I should probably
tell you that it contains parallel stories of two aging parents,
Lear and his old friend, the Duke of Gloucester. Lear
has three daughters, their names Reagan, Goneril, and Cordelia. Gloucester

has two sons, and the similarity of their names, Edgar
and Edmund can be confusing if you're seeing King Lear
for the first time. The dangerous one is Edmund. You'll
see him at the very beginning, forging a document to
ruin his brother. Whatever Shakespeare's reasons for leaving them out,

no mothers are present. The action begins with the king
announcing that he's decided to give up his power and
divide the kingdom equally among his three daughters. First, however,
each will have to tell him how much she loves him.

Born Eustace C. Hamilton developed an interest in music while

started with the sound system Mellow Stereo in his neighborhood
and they brought he was good, a good singer, so
they brought him over to King Tubby's studio in Waterhouse.
He chose the name because, you know, being his name's Eustace.

His father's name was Eustace and his father was called
Big U.

His stepfather was also murdered in Jamaica and buried in

the opening drive, I think they only allowed one hundred yards.

that without any injuries. They will play the forty nine

San Francisco, and then we'll play them as a home

calls for an hour, fans screaming for Tanner Scott to
be the Dodgers closer, when a year ago at this
time they were screaming for Tanner Scott never to show

his face again at Dodgers Stadium, and now the fans,
the wolves, they want Tanner Scott to get the ninth
inning again. And look last night when Dave Roberts was
asking the media what's the better option, I think it's
pretty obvious Tanner Scott's the only option right now with
the way the rest of the relievers are performing.

Yeah, Dave, And you know, like you said, look, last
year was last year, this year was this year. I
know he had a couple bumps, and especially early on,
there was a real unfortunate blown save that seemed like
social media really got on him, but he settled in.
Since do you think they make that move. It's not
like Edwin Diaz is a twenty one year old with
a fragile, you know, ego or attitude. I would assume,

And it sounded like when he was talking to you
guys that he was accepting of whatever the heck they
want to do in these last four appearances he's had
in his era that's ballooning into I don't know, twelve
thirteen territory.

Yeah, he was. He understands the situation. And look, I
think we all take for granted the fact this guy
had pretty major surgery three months ago. I know, we
try to brush it off like, oh, it's just loose bodies,
you know, no big deal. Well it is a big
deal when it's your pitching arm and that's what you
do for a living and you're getting the most high

leverage outs of a game with the game.

So I feel like it's a lot to ask. And
he's a professional, no doubt about it, But it is
a lot to ask. Three months removed from surgery to
go right into the fire, and the Dodgers tried it.
It hasn't gone that well, So I could. I can
understand Dave Roberts and Andrew Freeman talking about other options

to get the last not only three outs, but six outs,
because you know, if you take Tanner Scott out of
the seventh or eighth inning high leverage spots to get
the game to the ninth inning, who are you using
in those spots? And I think that's what Dave Roberts
point was last night. Okay, you want me to take
Tanner Scott out of that role to put him in
the ninth inning. Who's getting those outs in the seventh

and eighth inning if it's not Tanner Scott. And if
Tanner Scott comes out tonight, pitches the ninth inning and
blows the save, our fan's gonna say, go back to
Edwin Diaz. You can't manage that way.

saw it last year, right, we were talking about it
earlier with Tanner Scott. It's like, yeah, dude, you're not
pitching anymore, You're not closing out.

We've seen that. Like, what do you think the approach
is here?
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Well, yes, they really do.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
They don't really have a high leverage right handed reliever
that has performed all that well all season long. They
thought brock Stewart could be that guy. He's been on
the eye for the majority of the year. Evan Phillips
still coming back after not pitching for two years, also
having major arm surgery, Blake Trinan on the IL. I mean,
(17:11):
there's a lot of miles on that arm. So they
need Edwin Diaz. Whether it's in the ninth inning or
in the seventh inning. They need him. I mean, he's
a big part of this bullpen. They've got to get
him right, and maybe that is the best way to
do it, is to get him into those seventh inning
situations where if he does falter, there are options behind
him and it gives the offense a chance to come
(17:33):
back if it doesn't go as well. But certainly the
ninth inning is a lot different than the seventh inning.
They need Edwin Diaz and to get through the rest
of the regular season, there's no ways around that. Once
you get to the postseason. We've seen the Dodgers use
Rokie last year. They've pieced it together in other ways,
so the postseason is a different animal. I'm just talking
(17:54):
about getting through the rest of the regular season. And look,
it's not like the Dodgers fell apart with Diz on
the I l he was out for three months and
they just kept going and going and expanding their lead. So, uh,
this is a pretty good team, and there's ways to
skin a cat. There's different ways to get the final six.

By the time an actor is old enough to play
Lear persuasively, his physical powers have inevitably declined. Tonight you'll
see Ian Holme in the role. He was sixty six
when he first played this Lear in nineteen ninety seven
at London's Royal National Theal, and he played it with
astonishing energy, even managing to shock some in the audience

by playing one scene in the nude faithful to Shakespeare's
direction that Lear tear off his clothes during a violent storm.
What you'll see tonight is a television adaptation of that production.
Shakespeare's tragedies are always about great men with human weaknesses
that destroy them and almost everybody around them spotting the

fatal flaws of this wilful old king. I leave to you,
But for those unfamiliar with King Lear, I should probably
tell you that it contains parallel stories of two aging parents,
Lear and his old friend, the Duke of Gloucester. Lear
has three daughters, their names Reagan, Goneril, and Cordelia. Gloucester

has two sons, and the similarity of their names, Edgar
and Edmund can be confusing if you're seeing King Lear
for the first time. The dangerous one is Edmund. You'll
see him at the very beginning, forging a document to
ruin his brother. Whatever Shakespeare's reasons for leaving them out,

no mothers are present. The action begins with the king
announcing that he's decided to give up his power and
divide the kingdom equally among his three daughters. First, however,
each will have to tell him how much she loves him.

and they brought he was good, a good singer, so
they brought him over to King Tubby's studio in Waterhouse.
He chose the name because, you know, being his name's Eustace.

His father's name was Eustace and his father was called
