Speaker 3 (00:58):
I feel bad for offending you.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
I feel guilty for having defended you like that that
guy at our show that beat up on the woman
grabbing the pair of shoes on Friday at the Van's headquarters, and.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Craig's like an initialism guy today. Every every time I

Speaker 5 (01:22):
Double food bar? I mean thanks a lot to you
know what, Ronnie. I know it's a stressful time having
us all out here at Dodger Stadium, where you often
frequent as the season ticket older. Can we we have
a special day to day involving a sponsor. We have young,
hopeful people in the area. Could we play That's the

(01:45):
Open again maybe and start over again? I'm sorry that
was you know, that was Craig.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Was it my fault for yelling at Craig?

Speaker 3 (01:53):

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Fault for you. No, No, I don't think we should

he hears the gong, so three.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Times a day.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Yes, without measurement, reality does not exist.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Expect some money about seventy LA Sports live everywhere on
the iHeartRadio app and live at Dodger Stadium tonight. Gaalpin
Ford broadcast booth gonna have Dodgers v Royal is a
big one and certainly one of our guests on the
show today. I would assume both, but one of them
especially very excited about Blake Snell Night, the return to
the mound for Blake Snell.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Yeah, David Vassa, who I see down there hovering around
the dugout like a fly around a big piece of dung.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I see you there on the feet.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
I see him there on the field. David Vassa is
down there and he is going to join us. I
believe in about an hour and a half from now
four point thirty he's going to be up and finished
with his duties down there on Blake Snell is back
on the bump night. And we also have a very
special guest in our final hour, brought to you by

(03:10):
our friends at Corona, Dondela Yesh.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Find your playa and we will talk to Mookie Bets
in his specially inspired his specialty inspired playa Jersey.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Very cool man'll be available through I like the way
you're saying, and it gives me Steven Nelson Japan names.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
In contras. Apparently that means find your inner piece, I
guess is what we've been told. We're going to talk
to Mooki about what makes him tick, what what gives
him inner piece so he can perform on the baseball
field like he has so many times in his illustrious career.
It will be the second time that we have spoken

(03:53):
to Mooki in a couple of weeks, so hopefully he
is not tired of us. We're very much looking forward.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
I hope he's not consolo.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
He will join us in the five o'clock hour. And
as you mentioned, a big thank you to our friends
at Corona for putting that together. We will have a
packed house here in our iHeartRadio. We love it seventy
LA Sports Suite.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
We love it when they show up in the suite
and they pack the house and it's and it's noses
to dairy ears. We absolutely love it. Tonight we are
here for Dodgers Royals. Dodgers on deck with the one
and only Tim Kaits, who is here in the house
with a plastic smile plastered on his face.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh double chin in a plastic smile.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
That starts at six o'clock Thursday.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Matt will be out of town doing chargers at Texans.
That's a five o'clock kick on KFI A M six forty.
There is a not a lot of action down on
the field tonight, Matt. Not a lot going on like
Dodgers Yankees or Dodgers Red Sox or.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I mean from the assembled media.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, I mean, Pingolore's not here doing a victory lap.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You threw that up on the Twitter on the Petros
and Money Twitter doing his victory lap for Scooble night.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Well, you said Ping's gonna be on TV, and I said,
He's there. David Masse gave me the information, and he was,
and he was here, and then he was on the TV.
So I took a picture and said to Ping's taking
a victory lap, and.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
He took his victory lap. Did anybody witness it? Did
anyone show up for that parade? Well, we could ask
day at four thirty because we weren't here. We're here tonight.
But it looks like a very different different scene. Well
it's just Dave, Yeah, it really is. Literally, and there's
a couple over there. There's maybe two or three photog

(05:41):
types over there setting up over there.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
But now you guys not recognize Ping is not not
him down the third base line with the jacket on
light pants? Is that not him?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Is that ping a lot looks like him? Oh on
the white pants tan pants? But yeah, oh yeah, you're right,
May Parker jacket. Pingolare's back for nel Zil.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
I believe that's him getting ready to do a stand up.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Well, we could ask David Vasse about all of that
when he joins us in the very next hour.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
But I can tell you who's not coming on the show.
All right, here's the deal.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Freedman.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Hey, okay, hey guys, you know I've been a hot commodity.
I'm not sure if you heard, but I've been doing
the rounds and I've not got a call from you
guys yet, So let me know. I can find a
window for you.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
I don't know if we're going to talk to Pingolore
or not. If we go down there and he just
fights his way off a hold like my daughter, there's
not much we can do. And Pingolore is looking like you,
kind of skinny, rip Matt real Tan looks like he's
had a hell of a summer like you. He looks
very healthy. I don't want to go down there and
go into the Pingolore's territory. Man, He's right, he's feeling it.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Here's the deal. He's feeling it.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Here's the deal. Looks like he's feeling it. To me,
Dave can't even take it. He had to get out
of his presence. Day was a disappeared.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
I'm pretty sure that's Pink because he always has his
hands crossed like that. That's him.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
That's him in the suit in the blazer. Can be
the jacket there.

Speaker 7 (07:01):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's sorry. I'm distracted by the
catchers practicing pop flies behind it all.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I was distracted by that too, with the judge machine,
that's awesome.

Speaker 7 (07:08):
This first time I've ever seen this.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Feeding pop ups to the catcher. Well, the first one
they did, like took out Plashki in the press box,
angled way too far back and shot a missile into.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
The Are we listen?

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I didn't see it when the Panama jackat are we
talking about the catcher Judge Machiner were talking about pinglore
you guys want to figure out I.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
Got sidetracked by the catcher's jugs machine Hunter Fiducia and
my guy that's Rod Vett right there is a good
looking human being, Ben Roard.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Gosh Rod Vett and Fiducia taking turns. And by the way,
Sun's going to be in a different position when this
game starts. I'm not sure you know what the point
of doing this is. When these guys got to fight
the sun.

Speaker 7 (07:48):
Well, you get used to the upper deck of Dodger Stadium,
the sight line. That's why you get used to the
spin of the ball because it's different coming off of bat.
So the judge machine is at a certain angle. That's
Bob Garren, by the way, bench coach help them out.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So like a batter's eye, this is the catcher's eye
behind them.

Speaker 7 (08:03):
It spends differently, so you have to turn around to
figure out where it's going to spin them.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
That doesn't answer the question about guys. I want to
be part of the conversation.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I don't think that's him. My voice carries and other
people looked up when I said that.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Yeah, Ben Ruadvett looked up here when you said that.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
He did. But that's I think Pingolore would have heard
me that.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
The Matt there's a big event coming up this weekend
at a place that you're very familiar with, but it's
a Tim Kates production and event.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Well, you want to talk about two catchers talking shop.
Galluping Ford's eightieth anniversary celebration continues all year long. There
celebrating at gallpin Ford. This Saturday, you can meet two
times World Series champion catcher known for his defensive prowess
like the Wall, Tim Kates back in ninety six, Austin Barnes,

(08:53):
also La Legend, and our dear friend Sean Green will
be out at gallpin Ford. It starts at nine am
right up the four or five at Roscoe Food Games.
Your chance to win tickets to the game, and of
course meet Austin Barnes and Sean Green. Kate's going to
broadcast a very special live Dodger Talk starting at ten am. Again,
it is this Saturday, August fifteenth at galpin Ford, right

(09:14):
off the four h five at Rosco. And while you're there,
when I give old Mike Schwartz a high five, huh
gm of the whole place. Check out a sweet office. Yeah, Brad,
Look who's here?

Speaker 6 (09:23):
Ola?

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Hey Brad? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Brad?

Speaker 3 (09:26):
How's it? Brad? The bartender is here with his spicy
look at.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Then he's popping the top on Corona's. You brought us
some Coronas this time arouse Corona Modelo Margaritas because it's
the same company, right.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
But today Matt and I are working for Corona the
Exceptional Light Beer on AM five seventy LA Sports and
they will provide mookie bets in our final hour here
live in the AM five seventy suite. But we got
to ask you, Brad the bartender, we haven't been here
in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Have you missed us? How's it going?

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Tremendously so?

Speaker 8 (10:01):
And I was aware of the Corona situation, so that's
why I made the trip to get these.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
You are on top of it like a tire on
a rim, Brad.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
But I do have one little thing to discuss.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
I want to give a wholehearted bro bro that Captain
Cook is a beast.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Oh the grill three times a week I use that thing.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Look, you bought one of the Captain Cook grills from
barbecue Demarks, not a barbecue asle a barbecue stole.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
The first time that Henrick came on, I was listening
to you guys at home. I turn turned the radio off,
called Pasadena. Thirty seconds later, the manager goes he did
what how much? He goes I got to call you back,
gave him the credit card, drove and got it immediately
because I knew they were going to go. I put
it together, used it that night, and dude, nine hundred

(10:47):
degrees in fifteen minutes.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
All it flames nine hundred degrees into shape, you know,
a lead of the Prince.

Speaker 8 (10:58):
I mean, the Mountain of Armenia really really dropped one there.
I just then I know Kate's you know, scammed his
because he's part of the staff and everything.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
But I'm eligible to use.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Well, you're kind of part of the staff too, I
mean you're a legitimately official bartender.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
Well is the original Brad.

Speaker 8 (11:15):
I know there's there's another one sneaking around.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Well, you know, we can't get into your bar with
our credentials on. They've made a real crack down. They
don't want media members down there mixing with the elites
at your special bar.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
You know, I'm lucky I get in there exactly right.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
I got to serve these drinks.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
But it's I would love to have.

Speaker 8 (11:33):
You guys down there one of these nights, so we
could at least down the elbow and chat a little bit.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
You could bring something that you cook on the Captain
cook up in Pias, top down heat element.

Speaker 8 (11:42):
I live in El Serinos, so I mean that's like
fourteen minutes. I'm sure it would still be hot.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
Oh, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
You could have us having us down at the bar
down there is like the day that they bring all
the city kids down to the beach and a bus
and we go in with our jeans on and we
don't know how to act, and we're like, we love you, Brad,
thank you. You're such a prince and a wonderful man.
Not the Armenian Prince of Mount Ara Rat. He's a
whole other level. And with a shirt of Jesus, that

(12:07):
guy goes shit exactly. I thought this one has you.
Oh look, Matt, Matt's a bodybuilding freak, dude, He's a
featherweight bodybuilder.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
Do you even know that sinewe clocking in today?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
That's right, yeah, look out, have a good show, boys.
Thank you, Brad.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
We'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
The great Brat thanks the bartender a hero to us all.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
How about that testimonial. By the way I heard it,
I turned off the radio. Thirty seconds later I called Pasadena.
They said, unheard of. Too good of a deal. Knocks
it down for ninety eight bucks and now it's nine
hundred degrees.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Indu shade, really what Indu s?

Speaker 5 (12:51):
It's a bit of somebody show live from Dodgers Stadium,
A very special night we have in store.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Mookie Bets and David Vasse and.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
Who else are on the dock, and I know Oral
herscheizers calling the game tonight, and you've got a star
on the.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Hollywood Walk of Frame.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
Congratulations coming up on Flair's day, well deserved and God
bless him and Matt. We do have a late ad
of an event.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I know you're going to be doing Charger stuff the
next couple of days, but we are being sent out
to Montebello to see our Latino friends. One of our
better live remotes. We've only done one, only one. Right
there in the shopping center. We were told that we
should have alerted people that it was in a shopping

(13:35):
center because one of them drove around for you know,
you really should have said that it was in a
shopping center because I drove around.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
For what do you think? It's a one off like
a Porto shut.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Up exactly right outside of that sensational live appearance by
the Petros and Money show myself and Dawn McClain the
Snake Killer. Maybe Matt will check in from Houston from
Houston baseball cues in golf, maybe from the fountain, from
the one hundred and thirty degrees with nine thousand percent

(14:05):
humidity in the shape re what.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Don McClain and me will be in Mantabello at the
BJS on Thursday this week.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
A couple days I.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Heard Kevin Figures and Fred doing some serious NBA talk.
It was on here in the suite before we got on.
Those guys were going at it for like fifteen minutes
about scheduling.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yes, but unfortunately they cannot carry a remote for BJS
to be satisfied carry a show show.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
I will be there. I will be there with Don
McClain over the remote.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
We'll be We'll be doing what we do.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Great segment, and only one guy talked, where's the other guys?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Keep it moving there? Fred?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Jeez, he dies like, oh, they got to go till
fifty four to fifty, Let's see how this goes. They
didn't back here at fifty three. They got to fifty
four to twenty, and only one guy talked, I didn't
hear the other guy and even said like, all right,
we'll talk to you tomorrow, and that guy didn't respond,
and I was like, hey, he wasn't there. Okay, that
guy's no proof. Yeah, if a tree falls in the

(15:17):
forest and nobody heard it, that guy cut out at
forty five, I promise you that she wasn't having mic problems.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
I've seen a lot of spinals in my day, dude,
and this guy walks that's right.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
I almost think that last line as a throw. It
was a real fu to that guy, like, oh you
cut you cut out at forty four. Watch this well.
Regardless of the fact, sorry, the faith very upsetting.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
BJ's faith is in the Pettersen Money Show to carry
the day and the one off that we need to
do to.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Make apologize Miss January. The schedule was set for the
Chargers and their preseason appearances on Thursday nights, and yet
somehow my advances were ignored.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
We do know the city manager in Montapella. We had
the mayor on last time, I believe I ate at
the Sparrow. We had the at the food court before
the show started.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Head of the Firefighters Union give us some super cool
T shirts that were a lot of love and so
come on out because we're gonna have what Dodger tickets,
Charger tickets. Maybe the Voice of the Bolts will come
on and give them away. Most definitely live from Houston, Texas.
Talk about the backup quarterback battle between Trey Lance and Djungola.

(16:30):
Come on, it's gonna be crazy out there.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
I was hoping for an update on that before Thursday.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
But we'll we call it tease.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
But we'll be out there on Thursday, Me and Migo,
Don McClain and I and Don McClain doesn't just show
up at a remote for free.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
He has had to be paid. And guess what that means.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
That means I'm gonna ask for money too, because I'm
going to talk more than McClain.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Right, So we'll.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
See at the BEJS in Montabello, you're not gonna get
it for free. Let me tell you something right now,
I have the knowledge. I know that that arc there
is for the Armenian genocide. I'm not going into Montabello
with the without the knowledge. Like last time I went
to Montabello and I was naive, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Know what was going to happen.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
But now I am completely and totally aware. Got some
reps I got some rep I got some reps.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
I know what to expect.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
I know that safety's coming. I know what you're gonna
avoid him. You know I'm not gonna get hit in
the mouth, and everybody's going not like last time.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I'm going to be prepared to the collection of playing cards,
golf balls, chip clips, notebooks, pencils, uh, baretts. I'm looking
forward to a nice tote bag back to schools. Right
around the corner, here we go, City of Monabello. Kate's
I gotta ask you bus schedule. Does Montabello have a

(17:55):
mascot like Downy? Does Apollo?

Speaker 5 (17:57):
The I mean, we've had some really good Scott success
the last few shows we've done.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Is there that's right? See? You know Rancho Comonga, Rancho Cook.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
We have the tower Buzzers mascots, which I believe is
based on the guy that gets a tower buzz and
top gun and spills a coffee all over his chest.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
We've had the big Headed Dodger mascots show up on
the show before of all races, of all races, but
usually the Asian one.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Usually they send the Asian Yeah, I like it yeah,
And the brown one not the black one. No, not
the black one, the Asian and the look it's.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Not they have four. They got four. They have the
black one, they have the Asian one, they have the
brown one, white guy, and they threw a bone to
the whites. White guy in there.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Two.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
There's four and usually they only send two of the
big heads to us, and I think it's usually the
brown and the Asian, which I think represents our.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Sand base perfectly. Certainly I like it.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
But is there a mascot in Monapella, like a big
sombrero or a Tamali or something that walks around like
a big mountain.

Speaker 7 (18:59):
I mean, is the mascot for Montabello High School, which
is Ali the oiler?

Speaker 2 (19:03):
That'd be kind of cool, like a big oil Derek
Walker Lee.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
Yeah, it's a guy who works oil like.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
A Middle Eastern oiler? Is he an emirate?

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Is it a L I or O L l I
E L? Is it gonna come in as white gowns?
Because that'd be pretty sweet, That's all.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
You're right there.

Speaker 7 (19:20):
I'm showing you a picture.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Alie like O L L I E. He looks like,
oh yeah, Matt working connect.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Nineteen fifties cartoonish type.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
Yeah, well, uh just keep an eye on that. And
Ronnie Fosto's back in the studio. Mookie Betts will be
on later. We're riding with Corona.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
That's ping, by the way, That is ping.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
How do you know he's walked further away from us
and he's not turned around like there's nothing that he
could have done that would get you.

Speaker 7 (19:46):
Ping's got a look to him, he's got he's got
a demeanor.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
You know, guys, am I looking in the wrong place.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
The only guy walking. The only people that care about
us are us. Our listeners don't care about that.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Looks like an intern.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Which guy is that?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
The guy that's walking from the dug out right now?

Speaker 3 (20:01):
That looks like a dude.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
You wrecked our segment over that. He would have a
camera guy with him.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
It was Ping.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
He's in that scroll. He would have a camera with him.
He wears his camera if it's pink.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
He's just got a Okay, my bad, I thought it
was Ping.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
We'll be back. That's misinformation.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
I wanted to be taking a back seat to that
lady that rolls with the cam quarter that we's hooked up.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Fank wouldn't do that. I heard she's coming about a pillow.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
We'll be back with Petro somebody on seventy l a
sports all the top story of the day.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
On seventy you're a home of the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
This is Petro send money on to mad demand.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Some other like recruits like ship all over the water.
Sorry it discuss Well that's what he said, but like
what would they be in Michigan State? Lit a bunch
of coke and brought in some co eds.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Can we packed? I can't hear anything.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
You gonna hear the old timey music. You can't hear anything, Craig,
can you hear me? Spec your us in money? Am five?
Seventy l A sport?

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Got it now?

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Got it now? Craig y r F up r N.
You're really effing up right now?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Oh wow, man, you did one of those things. You
did an acronym. It's so cool.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Craig has been dropping on me all afternoon.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
We got Craig the engineer in the house.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
We got social media. We have Bradley the Minecraft expert. Yeah, Brad,
We're live at Dodger Stadium. It's the Petrosen Money Show
at Uniclo Field and shovez Ravine.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
The Dodgers are warming up.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
We still have Mookie Bets to talk to and Dave Assay,
a top story of the day, a flip top story
of the day, a lot of dishes to wash, a
lot of happiness to spread. And if you missed this show,
you can always podcast it on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
You can stream it live on the iHeartRadio app. It's
waiting for you.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
And don't miss Thursday at Montabello at the BJS, A
last second Petrosen money flow out at three o'clock on
Thursday at the BJS and Montabello in a shopping.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Center with the one and only Don McClain. Can you
hear me? Now?

Speaker 2 (22:50):
It is time for the Top Story of the day,
Top Story of the day. So we're gonna talk to
Mokie Bets today, second time and as many weeks it
feels like correct, it could come at a better time,
I suppose, But then again, when is a good time
during the dab days of summer? Right, That's the thing
that I noticed. He is, uh, you know, did the

(23:12):
top story after last night's victory tweaked it a little
bit earlier today? And then we get to the ballpark
and we see them there on the field right in
front of us Ki k take an infield and it
kind of hit me a little bit. Is the Dog's day?
The dog days? You had a revelation I did when

(23:35):
I was watching Freddie, who has a very specific routine,
do his infield routine. Yeah, thirty six. He's going to
turn thirty seven in three weeks. And he's doing his uh,
you know, the dig, the throws over to first base,
you know, out of the dirt there to secure the out.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Over and over and over and over and repetition, repetition, repetition, map.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
And I look at my watch and I see that
the time that he's doing that, it's about two thirty pm,
two forty five pm.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
You're gonna be here till ten o'clock at night.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Right, Yeah, this is not football. This is not guys
showing up to the stadium for their one game this week.
You know that runs from September through January.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
It's a very different set of preparation.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
It's one hundred and sixty two games he's got, you know,
children of I want to play with dad age at home,
and here he is at two thirty who knows what
time he's got to leave the house to get here
doing infield drills at age thirty six going on thirty seven,
the three time champ, an MVP, a World Series MVP,

(24:40):
author of one of the most iconic moments in World
series history.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Did that change your opinion on what you were going
to tell people how to feel in the top story
of the day, Well.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
It just kind of, you know, it's it makes you recognize, Yeah, man,
maybe they deserve a little bit of the dog days.
Maybe a guy that shows up this early before first
PA at seven to ten pm to make sure he
gets his drills in to be able to dig out
as many of those throws over to first at age

(25:08):
thirty six, almost thirty seven, in three weeks, you tip
the cap.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
I gotta be honest, Matt, I had a same not
a revelation or an epiphany, but I did have the
same feeling like, Wow, look at that guy stretching it out,
stretching out his groin, getting that big body moving again
and leading this team. It is pretty darn and pressive.
And it kind of goes into the topic of is

(25:35):
this really a team of villains? I mean, is this
really great? Point the evil Empire of baseball? Nice guys
like Freddie Freeman and Shoe a Otani who apologizes for
the every time he flips his hair to the yump,
and Mookie Betts that we're going to talk to a
little later. They seem like pretty likable guys, but the
expectations are so high.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
When the expectations are if you don't win the World Series,
you've failed. Maybe you're not allowed to have dog days.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
I mean, I think something you hear from players and
coaches a lot is and you went through it, you know,
playing at a high level. The results are the results.
You know, if you put in the work and you
do everything right, this game just plays out the way
the game plays out. Yeah, you guys, do everything right.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
You're supposed to do it so many times over and
over and over again that when the game happens, it
looks normal and you do it right and you don't
have to think about it and your instincts take over.
And very much in football, it's like that because things
happen so fast and you only play in that real,
finite moment once a week.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
But it doesn't always work on.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
And that's say you get on a seven game losing
streak despite being as talented as they are and having
the best record in baseball prior to that seven game
losing Streek.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
And thinking about how small the margins are. You think
about the World Series and how the Dodgers ended up
back to back champs, and you say, damn yeah, is
it because of all this preparation that brought them right
over that margin and made them the champions? I bet
you Threeman and his three hundred person staff would tell
you that.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
I mean, Rojas making those infield plays, you know, I mean,
we focus so hard.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Here's the deal, here's Freeman.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
All right, here we go. Here's what's going on. All right,
set the group text. Matt's right. He flipped the switch.
He did. He flipped the switch. And last night to
to get to the part that was already written, Trek
Scooble leaves the mound. He gets chased after five. Okay,
all right, here's the deal. Scooble on the mound, gives
up three, ends up, pushing to one hundred pitches after five.

(27:37):
Once chased left. Yeah, he's like that guy, ain't gonna
talk to me. He got chased. He was only on
the hook for the loss. He could not win. They
did not gain the lead at the bottom of the
fifth inning. Instead, all he could do was take a
second loss in a Dodger uniform. First time only gave
up two runs, took the loss. This time gives up

(27:58):
three in line to take the low. But it felt different.
And this is the thing, and I'm excited as always.
We're going to talk to David Vassy in the four
o'clock hour, less than an hour from now. He came
on yesterday and Dave could have played it right down
the middle. But that's not the style for David Vasse,
our intrepid Dodger reporter.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
He's not afraid to take a stand.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
He's not. He could have said, ah, you know, Edwin
Diaz fighting through it, wants to be out there for
the teammates, maybe dealing with a little bit of the
loose bodies and the recovery. Maybe he's not there yet. No,
after the guy blew the safe for the second consecutive night,
now they end up winning the game after he blows
the safe in extras so maybe it makes it a
little bit easier to approach him, but we know he

(28:42):
has approached eyes after things have gone horribly wrong and
asks the tough questions.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
He does.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
But Vassy went up to Diaz and said, hey, man,
what the hell it's going on? And he shared with
us that he got a great answer of I'm mad
as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.
That that was the breaking point for Edwin Diaz in Arizona.
After giving up back to back triples, no outs, tie
the game, buckle down gets three straight outs, and Diaz

(29:10):
decided in that moment, no more noo come us last night. Yes,
it was the Royals, it was not the Red Sox,
it was not the Cubs, was not the Yankees about
a one run game, already had a five to three
lead blown in the next half inning. Is the Royals
tied it up with a homer off a dryer sands mustache,

(29:35):
and again the six or five lead. Staring at the
same set of circumstances that led to two blown saves,
won a loss, one an extra inning. Everybody was thinking
the same thing, Matt, right, here we go again. Oh
we're gonna, oh, we're gonna do this, Timmy trumpet. We're
not gonna go to break and get our full three
minutes of commercials on spectrum. We're gonna have to have
our income. So we can play the Timmy Trumpet entrance

(29:59):
for all the people walking on spectrum as opposed to
gaining more money from commercial advertisers. For this guy thiss
blown us last two saves, the guy who blew his
last two saves. Yes, Matt, and what did he do?
Much like David Vasse said, that man said to him
no more, never again, and he lit it up. Man.

(30:22):
Twelve pitches, eight for strikes, one strikeout, five pitches to
get that strike out to start the ding'd fly out
the center ground out to Freddy, who we know was
ready for it even though it was a rocket shot
because he takes all of those great drill work moments
very seriously in the pregame. So for the final, for
the twenty seventh out, he was ready. You see him
there on the field, stand there on the field, and

(30:45):
he saved the game, throwing ninety eight, throwing ninety seven
on his four seemer. He was mad as hell and
he ain't gonna take it anymore, all right. That's what
Dave Assa got from Edwin Diaz. He shared it with
us on our show yesterday and when he came in
Yester today. Hopefully many of you sitting at home or
driving around town listening to it or thinking the same thing.
I heard Dave on Saturday night, right when Edwin Diaz

(31:08):
got bomped around a little bit and the back to
back triples and I got out of it. I heard
Dave talking about it and saying he didn't have his slider,
but he was angry and he found a way to
get out of it.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
But he just didn't have the sliders for year. It
looks like he figured that out.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Last definitely looked like the Edwin Diaz that they spent
a considerable sum on, the Edwin Diaz who runs a
sporting ring in his hometown.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
It's part of their culture.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
It's part of their culture. They can really bring the
people in and get him excited and bring the community together.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
The chicken all the time.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Listen, you know what we want. We want community. We
want people to feel something that brings them together, so
they're not sitting in their house.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
If those chickens want to fight, it's up to them.
You know, it's between those two cocks, that's exactly right.
And if those cocks want to tangle, it's a different place.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Okay. I know maybe some loss have been passed at
ed wasn't aware of. But you know, he brings the
community together. It's part of together, It's part of that
young man's culture. That's exactly right. What else did we
see last night? P Kyle Tucker pinch hit moment, two outs,
tied at five coaxes, a walk. What does that walk do?

(32:19):
Sets up the moment of the evening? God, I hope
they make a bobblehead about the walk, set up the
moment for the man of the evening to be able
to tell his story because prior to that moment, strikeout,
ground out, strikeout zero for three high game bass is
juiced and the man of the hour steps into that

(32:41):
left handers batter's box.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
He'd have been pretty embarrassed having lobbied for a bobble head, right,
and then knock through about the first pitch.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Kids are on the field with him, got the whole thing.
Man the bobblehead treatment for his shaving it to four
to three in the eighth inning against the Bluejay's Game
seven World Series Bobblehead.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
I shaved it to one.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
And last night he said, hey, all of you's fit
fink a home run when our team was trailing four
to two. A solo shop that cut it to four
to three in the eighth. Wasn't worthy of a bobblehead.
The parade of me, my family out here on the mound,
throwing out the first pitch, playing my favorite music, You

(33:26):
don't think it was worthy of that? Of all the
attention I deserve. He showed him base clearing knock over
the first baseman, a triple you know from Max Monsey,
A triple. Yeah, what a wonderful moment, I got to say,
for a portly feller. So you know, I'm a little
unhappy about it myself because, you know, since we've been

(33:47):
talking about Monsely being so celebrated for shaving it to one,
you know, I think about all the times at USC
you know, I didn't mention my playing career. You did today,
And I have to say, there's a lot of times
that I shave.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
It to like ten, shaved it to seven.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Where's my bobblehead? Well?

Speaker 3 (34:04):
What about my teammates? They didn't carry me over?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
You know, we didn't get to win, right so I
could get a bobblehead, Like, hey, Petrick shaved it to ten,
bobblehead And now we've you know what I'm saying this
other guy shaved it to seven, and then this guy
shaved it. Morton shaved it to seven, and r J.
Soward shaved it. I mean, I think they shaved it
to one. Bobblehead really date off last year paid off

(34:28):
because of that moment, and if that moment didn't happen,
Matt be pretty empty.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
Anti climax for most of them.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Bass clearing knock to give them the five like finding.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Your beach and the beach ain't.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
There, right, and then Freddie Freeman show Haltani combined for
the Guibby the game winning RBI, allowing Edwin Diez to
come out for Jimmy Trumpett. Did you guys see the
Otani Freeman Gwibby RBI Bobblehead. I heard they're giving away

(34:58):
at the Tower Bussers game, so make sure you go
out there. Grab something at Oral Sizer Chevy. Check out
the Hall of Fame, Walk of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Congratulations to him. Oh no, and yeah, I believe that's
where that bibble Hea'll be.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
Everything's fun, Craig, relax, we're doing sports talk, man.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
We're having a good time. Alright.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
If I break it, I'll give you the hat. We'll
be back with more. I'll give it to you anyway.
Did you wear that for Craig No, but I'm gonna
give it to him. We'll be back with mar Pettersen
money on AM five seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Congratulations to Max Munsey on his shaved it to one
World Series Game seven home run bobblehead and i'd getting
the basis clearing knock to give the Dodgers a five
to three lead, by the way, which would not be
the winning hit. So they may make a bobblehead out
of that basis clearing triple for Max Monsey, But it
was Freddie Freeman that napped in the game winning run.
They have a lot of decisions to make, you know,

(35:55):
so many great moments.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
I have to say, Matt, uh, it really did come
through the Max Mountsey bobblehead night Right, That moment came
through kind of like Freddy freemanutes, like Freddy meet Gibbe. Right,
Like some of these moments are just ex in the Star.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Look Apropos, Right, did that hit win the game? No?
Did the bobblehead hit win the game? No, it didn't
even give him the lead. Shaved it to one but
let's celebrate it because it helped him win the game. Mortcum,
Petros and Money we are your butterfly effect chaos theory
show up recorrectly tails.

Speaker 2 (38:57):

Speaker 5 (38:58):
I would have accepted Fortney Turner. I also would have
accepted Bellager's mom, Jennifer.

Front Row Amy, Kate's loves front row Amy.

Speaker 2 (39:17):

Who needs a beer vendor in front row Amy's breastfeeding over?
Give me a break with Edwin Diaz after he gave
up the second trip of the very next dude hit
the ball one hundred and four miles per hour exit Villo,
he got lucky as hell. Oh yeah, I wouldn't go, Hey,

(39:40):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
I wouldn't answer the door.

Speaker 5 (39:42):
If there's a pecking at the door, there might just
be a rooster at the door with the razor blades
on its claws, ready to get to you.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah. By the way, that one hundred and four mile
an hour exit Velo rocket shot was snatched by who
Max Muncie and wouldn't be surprised start if very very soon,
the Maximunsei snatches up a one hundred and four exit
velocity rocket shot at the hot corner to make the
first out of the bottom of the ninth and a

(40:13):
one to one tie game. You know, I could totally
see that being a bibblehead, and you guys would not
be shocked to know that Courtney with a k our
dear friend, Justin Turner's lovely wife who's also a dear friend,
is now the queen of the Tiajuana social scene. I
could see she is number one down there amongst all

(40:34):
the Hynahs and the Rukahs and the Cholas. She's the
DJ at Red Square.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
The set is I'm Courtney Turner, follow me down to
who songs.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Like? I just love the image of Courtney Turner being like, whatay, ladies,
I have a feeling freaking Matt Smith, what did I do?

have been texting me about this all night and day.

Speaker 3 (41:37):

to be unhappy?

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Perhaps Matt would leave the show a lot of anger
about this. I can't do the show anymore, guys, I.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Can't do this.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
