Of course you did, Matt, because of your health, well
from your vibrance.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
For me, it's more the cost. I recognize that produce
is incredibly expensive and you want to be treated to
the finest. That's right. So I'm like, can I take
some ship to expense equals success? It's like, hey and quality.
If I'm doing damage to the watermelon, pineapple, blueberries and canalope,
I know I'm getting my money. Some worry coming up,

(02:00):
God help the people.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
When they bring a pizza here, Matt just eats it,
falls the whole thing over and'll sing because it's one
hundred bucks butter bucks. And what about the sushi plate,
Matt's it's like a pac Man on the sushi.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I did see the disappointment and on Dave Weeze's face
when he ordered the sushi plate and no one touched
it and it got all warm, and he was just
staring at it like he stared at a five you
better clean set of flat.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
That's like when you take a girl out, you know,
and she doesn't eat all her fries, those cough three
seventy five stupid ass those fries.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
You're the one that want of dessert. And now you're
just taking one bite to the tiery Me, Sue, what
you bet your ass, I'm gonna eat it all the
cram brew of the thirteen dollars tiery Me, Sue, Matt.

Speaker 4 (02:39):

they decided to book this on by one away line,
that's a lie.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
You don't have any laser discs. You had laser discs,
send them, but I know you don't.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I can do that. Cop on laser disc, sign it
and send it.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
I know somebody who's got a bunch of DVDs in
the bullpen.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah, I know, I gotta remove those.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I know somebody that's got a whole squatting situation set
up in the bullpen and it's.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
The same guy. Yeah. A lot of people saying texting in.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
I know David Bowie did a cameo and back to
the beach. He also did want to shoot remote on
Friday because Matt looks exactly like David Bowie now.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Skinny with a strandy hair. He might say, you start
those phase, you should be the lightning bolt.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
We'll be back on Thursday at the BJSON Montapella. We
had not been there for a while, and then we
went there and now we're going back.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yes, they're on your screen on the BJS. Uh. So
we'll figure out a show and we'll slap it together,
and we want you to come on out and say
hello to great Sports Talk and meet Don mccraine's Sports Talk,
who hates people. It's gonna be great, real good setup
for him. I would imagine he's getting some hazard for
this one. Seven thousand dollars. Yeah, close more. That's two

(06:04):
locates to love. We too love.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
All right, Matt, it is time for the.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Word of the day with cops, I mean, with his words.
The word of the day. Today's word of it is stroke.
Somebody stroked an unret check.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Not for Arizona State, not for USC not for Bob
Chesney and Derek Carr and UCLA.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Now you're telling me there's not one person who can
stroke a twenty million dollar check right.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Now, not for my team. Michigan State to open North
Dakota State I got them week two in Fargo. No,
son of a bitch, I'll get to Fargo. Man, don't worry.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Okay, you're telling me there's not one person who can
stroke a twenty million dollar check.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Right now, Northwestern football has received a commitment from who.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
The hell cares about Northwestern football, A guy named Dick
and his wife Liz Hwleen. Oh you line, they're the
office supply company. Well that's answers your own question there, Bowie,
there we go thirty five million dollars, which is set
to come the next three years. The donation is intended for.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
And this is the first time I've ever heard this term,
but of course it comes from Northwestern. Holistic football success
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Holistic football success. That means they're going to do the Ohtonga,
They're going to do the toad licking. It's going to
be a lot of those little tabs you put under
your tongue.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
They're going to do the dark room like Aaron Rodgers.
They're going to help with recruiting, support, incense centruly scented candles,
and broader program needs. But somebody finally has stroked a
check for the year, telling.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Me there's not one person who can stroke a twenty
million dollars check right now.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Figure check now.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Most people can't name the Northwestern head coach right now,
but they can name the offensive coordinator and then quarterback coach.
It's Chip Kelly. And they can name the quarterback. It's
our guy. No, it's not Steve Schner. Schnurr is over fifty.

(08:20):
It is eight in Childs from Downey. So two people
that we know quite well.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
And third stop for Childs right Oregon State, Michigan State,
now Northwest.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Now, if he plays really well at Northwestern, I don't
know how much the U Lines are going to play
pay for him. If he has a good year there,
he could know four fight songs before it's all said
and done. If he has a great If he has
a great year for Chip, he might just go over
to Ohio State. But thirty five million, I don't know
who's going to tell the U Lines unlimited post. It's

(08:52):
for you that yeah, this is cool for the next
three years. But are you willing to stroke another check
for three years? Because we're gonna have to keep on
paying these guys to keep this going and it's not sustainable.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Let me ask you a question, do you like how
you feel. Do you like winning the eight games in
the Big ten? Was that worth a TM worth of
thirty five million for the last three years? Was that
enough holistic success for you guys? Did it feel all right? Holistically?

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Did you see Chip at the unvalian of the stadium
in Northwestern Stadium?

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Looks cool, looks like a soccer st I mean, just
crammed into that helmet in the best. The safety vest
look like an awkward fit, like a boil. It was
about the break well.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
It looked like a fat chick trying to get into
a on a jet ski trying to get into a
life vest so she doesn't get pulled over.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
You It's gotta be zipped all the way up. I
can't zip it up. I can't. My boobs are huge.
It look like snoopy in the chest. That's how they
get you water, do u eyes? They get you your
your Your giant breasts are like nuclear warheads. And you

(09:58):
can't zip up your stupid life jacket.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
All right, So congratulations for the Wildcats in Northwestern. Good
luck to Chip and Aid and Childs. And right now
it's time to the number of the day.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Here's my number. Number of the day. Well also also
college themed here pee. I was flipping through the USA
Today a little bit earlier and I saw this headline,
catch my attention.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
USA Today didn't get you a leg up on the
Derek Carr Northwestern not did not, but it's a shallow matt.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
It did give me with its color coordinated life purple, money, green, sports, red,
news blue, the color sections. But here we go. Headline
reads best TV deals for dorm rooms, and it got

(10:49):
me thinking. And I know, this is like a I
had to walk to school uphill both ways in the
face a TV in your dorm. We had one guy
on our floor that had that's pepper. Now there's gonna
be at least one rich TV VCR combo and that
thing was probably thirteen inches. Im crazy Gideons, I mean Max,

(11:10):
And you had every dude on the floor would pack
into that room to watch whatever it was we had
on on a VHS at any given time. Thirteen inches
And what do kids have these days? I don't want
to talk about. Yeah, this is what they have. What
is the best TV deal for a freaking dorm room?

(11:33):
Is it a thirteen inch all in one TV VCR combo? No?
The best deals that they wanted to hide that. Look,
I had a stereo. I had a double cassette. You
want you want to mixtape? I can put something together
for you with my Phillips double cassette deck. Over A
lot more of that going on. Yeah, here are the deals.

(11:55):
A thirty two inch TV or a four forty eight
inch TV, depending on your budget. Forty eight inch TV
for a dorm room. If you've got one hundred and
seventy five bucks to spend, we could put you in
a nice, high sense thirty two inch er. Oh, come on,
one hundred and seventy five, one hundred and seventy five bucks.

(12:18):
I think that thirteen inch VCRTV combo costs that rich
kid like seven hundred bucks at these people. Or you
can get a nice forty eight inch or for two
forty nine ninety nine. Can you imagine rolling into freaking
your dorm as a freshman with a forty eight inch
freaking TV?

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Somebody said, I mean forget freshman. I mean somebody said
to me the other day, what do we give away
like a fifty six inch TV? Sixty five inch TV
sixty five inch?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Somebody said to me, can you imagine if it was
twenty years ago, and you gave away that TV people
would die. They would they would die. They would kill
somebody right on the way to the car. Someone would
get stabbed.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
I had a thirteen inch TV with a VCRN in
it from Crazy Gideons. And the reason I know Dawson's
Creek and every other show was all we could get
was channel. Fuck is the reason I know, Hal Fishman.
That's all we got. We got was channel. That's how
we work. One channel.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
We got chips back to back. Hey, put on Letterman, Sorry,
can't do it. Same thing. And then my roommate got
kicked out of school because he got so addicted to
the Rodney King trial and he started skipping class and
he just kept walking around and telling us all, Hey,
these guys are gonna get off. Man, I'm watching every
second is I'm telling you these guys are gonna get off. Meanwhile,

(13:35):
there's a party to night. It's sick. Shut up. Yeah,
it's a travesty forty eight inch best deal. Hey, you
want to set your kid up for their friend. When
you talked yesterday about the kids going analog, you know,
going analog with their flip phone.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Maybe the kids gotta get down to traction and get
to crazy gideons and get one of those VCRTV comms.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Get a nice double cassette player. Man, make a mixtape.
We're watching Dirty Dancing.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
I'm a thirty two inch TV in the box in
the garage for Sadie to take to school this fall.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
What's in the box? You should be ashamed of your
My parents bought it for okay, Yeah, thanks Grammy. Is
that a flat scream? It is? Oh? I would have
liked it a lot more if it was a tube.
It's one of those projection TVs that's got a cabinet around.
David Mass we'll be here in the next segment.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
The cabinet was sweet, but then you had to get
the other thing on the sea leg and you know,
to project.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Yeah, to project it exactly? What is that blue light
up there? There's two parts. There's two sides to that corner. Hey,
can you move please? Your head? You're right in front
of the projector. Man, we're trying to watch Brave Heart
for the fortieth time. Guess everything green? A red light
went out. The bulbs were like seven hundred bucks. Man,

(14:50):
I get a new red light for the big ass
satellite Oh god, that was the best. That was the best,
especially when you learned the coordinates for Playboy. Yeah, in
spikes a lot of softcore. Dude, what any one point
six four Roddy. This is the song of the day.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
Film School is a five piece shoegaisy band from the
Bay Area with our song of the day called Sunny
Day because today the Petros and Money Show is taking
advantage of a sunny day out and about at the
ballpark with a live remote from Uniclo Field at Dodgers Stadium,
hoping to build on last night's momentum for Game two

(15:33):
with the Kansas City Royals. To night that'll start with
Tim Kats and that Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck show
beginning at six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Are you running well? I said to Pete. David Vasse
gonna come up from down on the field to the suite,
break it all down. He saw it coming from Edwin
d As twelve pitch ninth inning saved last night, Dodgers,
Blake Snell back on the mound. Vassay will join us next.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Petro's Papadakis that money spare This is Petro send money
on demand.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
I heard it there. Play by play all over AM
five seventy LA Sports and iHeart Radio. Remember you don't
have to have us tuned in to five seventy on
your AM band. You can get the Petros Some Money
show anywhere in the world with the iHeartRadio app and
that AM five to seventy LA Sports tile. Make that
one of your favorites. So when you open the app,

(16:32):
it's right there waiting for you to listen live while
he needs the smartphone, the app and a signal and
that goes in the Greater LA area. For Dodger games,
you can hear those through the app. If you're not
near a radio out and about and you want to
hear Blake Snell make his return to the mound tonight,
you can do that. Just after seven pm. We got
play by playback on KFI AM six forty on Thursday,

(16:53):
a five pm kickoff for the Chargers and Texans. Yes,
NFL football is already here, season game one, forty eight
hours forty eight and a half hours from not second
to his wedding day and his children being born.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Today maybe the proudest day of David Vasse's life. He's
down on the field at Dodger Stadium and we hope
he's ready.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
He is, he's not. Who's he chatting with? Snow? Now?

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Bob Garren, Dodger bench coach, is explaining a play I
guess that happened in another game recently and how it transpired.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
So he's got a little circle of media folks here
he's explaining it to say, he's talking right to Dave though, yeah, da,
he's got a very well here.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
He's number one guy like Jack Palance. But that will
take that opportunity to promote our big event. On Thursday,
two days from now, the Pettersen Money Show will be
live at the beautiful B Jays Restaurant and Brue House.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
In Montabello. Let's go Oilers, one of our favorite remote
destinations to be at. Matt and I were there a
few months back, so wee pissed. I'm not going.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
It's great of a great time. Nevertheless, we will be
there with Don McClain.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
Hello, Hello, Hello, and myself with Dodgers tickets and Chargers
tickets that were blessed by the Voice of the Bones.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
So come on down to Monamello to the Bjay's Restaurant
in brow House, enjoy that happy hour. We will start
at three.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
O'clock, and we helped to spend time with you, our
loyal listeners. Or if you want to take a picture
with a guy that probably doesn't like you, that is
about a foot taller than you, at least Don McLain
will be there. You don't want to miss that. We
haven't talked to him in a few weeks, so it'll
be good.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
To catch him.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
But right now, if it's time down on the field
for David ressels Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
With an inside look at the Dodgers. This is the
Vass Report with David Vasse. David Vass is here. It
is Blake Snell is back in August night.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Dave is happy, Snell is pitching the Dodgers, perhaps back
on track, and he joins us now courtesy of Downy
Hunday on the radio.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
He is down on the field with Tim Kates. Hi, Dave,
how are you?

Speaker 8 (19:28):
I'm doing great? How could it not be great? Snell
Zilla day, bump day. He's ready to go. He's been
telling me how ready he has been for the last
two weeks. Says he hasn't felt this great in the
last three years, so hey, now he's got to show.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
It is Pingolore down there.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
No, No, I haven't seen Pingolore down here. Schooble is
uh is not pitching today? He was here for the
victory lap yesterday.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yet Dave, was he like acting like he was all important? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (19:57):
He really, He really had his chest out, acting like, Hey,
of course this was happening.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
You should believe me. So nice guy. We've been waiting
Jay eight months. Okay, Snell's going to pitch tonight. Obviously
the Dodgers need him desperately. What do you expect from him, Dave?
And don't the Dodgers want this guy to pitch more? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (20:21):
I mean the biggest thing, no matter how great you are,
is availability. And so far in his first two years
with the Dodgers, he has not been available that much.
But when he is available, he has pitched really well.
And without him, the Dodgers don't get to the World Series.
Last year, he dominated the Reds, dominated Philly, and Philly
dominated the Brewers for eight innings in Milwaukee. So they

(20:45):
they're hoping for the same thing this year, where he
hasn't pitched the majority of the season, but he's coming
back at the right time. He's got a fresh arm,
which is good for the Dodgers as well, so they're
hoping for a repeat of last year where he didn't
pitch at the first half of the season. But it's
coming back at the right time to be ready for
the biggest time of the year, and that's October.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
What do you make of the eleven innings that Derek
Scoble has pitched thus far for the Dodgers.

Speaker 8 (21:12):
Dave I would say that he's trying to do too much.
He's trying to impress, and I think he's been unlucky
as well. There was a couple of broken bats that
got base hits in Chicago that you know, Baltimore chopped by.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Nico Horner Baltimore.

Speaker 8 (21:29):
It really did him in no run support, and last
night he didn't have the feel for his four seen fastball,
so for whatever reason, he decided to throw Jack Caglione
a slider, a hanging slider for a two run home runs.
So it just felt like he was trying to do
a little bit too much last night. But the one
thing that comes through is how much he competes on

(21:50):
the mound, and that's something that no matter how good
you are, if you don't have that compete in you
as a pitcher. It's not going to translate very well.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
What about the closer, Dave, you shared with us on
the air of your conversation with Edwin Diaz and certainly
got some help from Max Munsey there at third base
after the back to back triples. But last night looked
lights out. Yeah, how about that? I told you it
was a new DS.

Speaker 8 (22:15):
I told you Saturday night was going to be the
turning point to his season, and I thought he threw
his best sliders of the season as a Dodger last
night in that ninth inning. There was no drama in
that ninth inning. And I only expect Sugar Daz to
be sweet the rest of the season.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Sugar d David Vasse is our guest on LA Sports.
He had rart fed on the pregame show yesterday. Today's
got Pingalore on the pre It's not true.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Right here we go. Here's the deal. Fordy is putting
it together right now. You don't have it yet. I do.

Speaker 8 (22:48):
I have tonight's starting left fielder on the show, Alex
call making only his second start since the All Star Break.
Tonight He'll be playing left field behind Snell Zilla.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Very nice, Dave, did Micky Rose Group text to the
team really change anything. Did you see a change in
this team after the group text was given.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
I think between that and what Dave Roberts said after
the game that you know what, there is the sample
size for this year. You are who you are and
he's going to manage accordingly. And that's part of the
reason why he sent Kyle Tucker up there in the
sixth inning to pinch hit for Taoscar Hernandez. Taoscar Hernandez
has had an average at best year. In the last

(23:32):
ten games, the quality of the at bats have not
been good, and in that situation, he wanted to use Tucker,
who in the last ten games has really performed well,
and it paid off. Tucker worked a walk in front
of Muncie, who had the big hit in the sixth
inning with two outs. So I think between Dave Roberts
and Miguel Rojas, they have set the tone for the

(23:54):
rest of the regular season for this team.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
I don't know a difference. Did you have a chance
to ask Mooki about the Group two.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
No, we're going to talk to him in the next
hour and we won't ask him that either.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Dave, that's for you. You're not going to ask him that, Yeah,
I don't think so. I feel like there's some other
things I got in my mind I want to share
with her.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Sure, do you see a difference in Tucker Dave, Like
just the way he's carrying himself, and so honestly he carries.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
He carries himself the same way. Honestly, he's he's the
same guy. He does care more than what people believe,
but he's just been searching for that feel at the plate.
And I remember Andre Ethier explaining this to me. Every
year is unique, and what makes the Hall of Famers
the Hall of Famers is that they can be consistent

(24:38):
from one year to the next year to the next
year for ten years. But the mere mortals struggle to
repeat the same season. Guys like Freddie Freeman, you know
he's gonna be out there. You know he's going to
get you two hundred hits, forty doubles, and that's why
he's a future Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
But every year is unique.

Speaker 8 (24:57):
And you know, for Kyle Tucker, it was explained to
me by one of his former teammates in Houston that
you have to take a step back and examine Kyle
Tucker from Afar he thought he was going to be
a forever astro. They surprise him and trade him to
the Cubs. The Cubs, he knew he was only there temporarily,
and now he signs a big time contract with the Dodgers.

(25:20):
So it's been on three teams in three years. He
just welcomed the newborn into the world in the last
eight months. So there's been a lot of life changes
for Kyle Tucker, and I feel like part of that
human side of it has to play into the struggles
of his first year with the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Dave, I don't know if I am correct in this assessment,
but you were talking about Freddie. Are those his kids
in centerfield? Because this kid in the shorts and the
white T shirt is freaking tracking everything down. I mean,
like he's a damn gold Gloves center fielder and he's
got to be I don't know, ten or eleven years old.
Is that a player's kid out there? The kid in

(25:58):
the blue pants is charged Arlie Freeman. Okay, white T shirt,
blue pants, and I believe that the Traveling Secretary's kids,
Scott Okasaki, one of his one of his kids out there.
Knock to you about that. I mean those kids can
really track some fly balls down.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
Or it could be Aaron. Aaron Rojas, Miguel's son. I
know him and Charlie are inseparable, so that may be
Aaron Rojas out there.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
So, Dave, top to bottom, do you feel like whatever
this team struggles were and what caused so much trouble
for you late at night and kept you up at
night after Dodger talk tossing and turning on how you
dealt with the angry callers and the churlish fans. Is
that part of it over? And the Dodgers are going
to be a okay going forward because the expectations are high.

(26:44):
Dave Petros, I can't say that after one night. I
have to see how they What about that.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
They won that game in Arizona? They won one in Arizona.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
You know, you know, remember Petros, come on, you know
you real sugarde there.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
That hit that Max Munsey got last night could have
opened the pressure cooker a little bit and took some
pressure off this team. Monsey had been in a big
time slump himself, So let me see tonight against Michael Waka.
He's a guy that's been around since twenty thirteen. The
Dodgers have a pretty good idea what he's going to

(27:17):
try to do. But I think it's imperative for Snell
to put up a zero in the first inning and
for the Dodgers to get him some early runs so
he could settle in. Those would be my two best
case scenarios to start the game tonight. But I'm not
going to make any sort of declarations like you and
Matt like to make after one game.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Yeah, that's what we like that, man, We have to
dog declarations. What David, here's the deal, here's what present
or presented by Corona. Corona. Try Corona tonight with that
cool kayah applia. If you had your plia David bit,
if you if you had to pick one of the
two catchers to roll with in like a game seven,
which one you're going with? Roord Vedder Faducca say it again,

(27:58):
which of these two catchers would you go with it?
If you had like a must win game on the line. Well,
I was encouraged today. I talked to Dalton Rushing.

Speaker 8 (28:06):
He said that he's optimistic that he can still catch
this year. And Will Smith was out here. First time
we've seen Will Smith. My understanding is he took batting
practice in the cage yesterday. By the end of this
week should be taking BP on the field. So I'm
not ready to concede anything when it comes to will
Smith or Dalton rushing in October.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
So I guess the answer is neither. I guess yeah, i'ducca.
I know, but it could be a moot point.

Speaker 8 (28:32):
But if I had to choose wine neither, I would say, Uh,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I've got to order off the menu. I can't do this.

Speaker 8 (28:40):
It's like mutzurella sticks or fried pickles. I'm not sure,
tough one. I take the pickle, of course.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
All right, Dave.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
We appreciate you and your pickle, your big Italian Persian
pickle down there.

Speaker 8 (28:51):
And I know you're still grasping at that breakfast burrito,
trying to hold on to anything that Tucker does. Once
I let go of my burrito, I grab my boots.
Did you guys bring those signs? Thirteen's for Sneil Zilla
from Vans.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
I have him at the house. Oh sure, is her
iguana in the box? Like? We don't have to be
Iguana and the shoe. You should have called, you know,
we forget what we spoke on the phone. I know
Matt ben Becky owes me a router, all right, pet
trust some money, all right, Dave go back Coker, you
think you could just what was Bob Garren talking to

(29:24):
you about? Can you shore out rule? Four out rule?
The four out rule? Yeah? He won't. You take it
up for you if you like you that rule and
shove it up. Hey.

Speaker 8 (29:34):
Look there's Scott Boris and Tarry Schoolball going over the
mac Shuser plan.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Hey, that's not cool. Dave Schoolbl's got a competitive fire
that Shures has never had with.

Speaker 8 (29:44):
His Anyway, I love Schoolbl. He's a great guy, great teammate.
So I'm fine. I'm loving it.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Don't plant in the various seeds. That's a photo that's
going to be thrown away. John Sue, who's here exactly? Hi? Tom?
Hey the job? John? Greatest photographer in the world.

Speaker 8 (30:02):
Yeah, he is the greatest photographer in the world. He
has a photo of that one touchdown you scored at
USC at the Colisee in Petro's.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
One of them. Hey, telling Petro this one more than
David Vase scores. Give me back to mor son of
a bit. I gotta go to break love you, John,
We'll be back.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Alex call with saying the pregame show Mookie with us
next hour, flip Top story of the day about iron
sharpening iron, Welcome to the league.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
This is Petro Money on Demand five A Dodger Stadium,
Dodgers v. Royals tonight. Just after seven. Dave s A
just joined us. It is Blake Snell's return, first time,
Kate said.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Not a lot of national media down there for Lake
Snell's return, not even ping Alar.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Just beat writers. Whilst Snell's last return did not go
as planned. I think it was two innings or something
like that got roughed up with bit. I think his
era as a twelve right now sometimes two. Oh appreciate that,
and you owe him a pair of ants. All whites
are all blacks.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
I have the all whites for him if you want.
But right now it is time for the flip top story.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
We'll flip you out, I will look you up. This
is the flip Top story of the day, Matt.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
We have often used the phrase, which is the basis
of the awesome Super Bowl favorite La Rams. Iron sharpens iron,
which is a reference to sharpening a knife with another
knife or with metal, or as you referenced yesterday, Matt
One's on One's at Chargers Camp at the Bolt, your

(31:47):
best against the best dog or iron sharpens iron, tough
competition brings on greatness. When a new sports talk radio
stationed up and up in.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Town, welcome to the league, Iron sharpens iron.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Some other door mentioned iron sharpens Iron just the other
day on Twitter in regard to that. But it is
not a new concept.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
And neither outlet is iron. Well, it's just silly.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
You can see yourself as whatever you want to h
This is not a new concept. Most really good teams
and bad teams talk about it. Programs, franchises they have it,
the Pete Carroll era that USC had it. It's creating
competition in practice, and it doesn't have to just be football.
It could be anything like sports talk radio, where one

(32:41):
team welcome to the league, sharpens the other team and
heightens the level of both teams. The best competing against
the best. Now the sst the scout I'm the best.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
You have said that with a ratchet. Put your f
and head in a ratchet.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
The scout team is one thing, but we're all gonna
get better by getting after our own defense or offense,
and that is what we're talking about. Well, Matt and
I did have the song Big Iron qu'ed up, but
I don't know if we're going to get there.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Live from Florida, Matt, I have a real story. I mean,
there's a million different directions we can go. When you
say live from Florida, they.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Have a story of iron sharpening iron. My eyes are spinning.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
I'm not talking about my FAU and FIU haveing joint practices. God,
I wish i'd be in Boca right now if you would. Okay,
the Dolphins and the Jacksonville jack No, and maybe they are.
But iron sharpens iron, Matt in Florida, two Florida men,
we're charged with aggravated battery after allegedly taking up a

(33:45):
machete and a hatchet, respectively, and getting at it in
a public's parking lot. Fighting iron sharpening iron a public true.
In public, at the public's parking lot, you can steal
some good crabs.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Well, that's a Jameis Winston story, but public's is very
prevalent beyond the Jameis Winston crab lake story pretty much
in the rest of the country. But here, iron sharpening
iron in a real live not like, hey, we're doing
nine on seven for an extra ten plays, but a
real medieval battle, not tournament. This is real Daniel's son.

(34:24):
Two white men, white men I figured in Panama City, Florida.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
What you think it was a buck? No? When I
hear Florida man, I immediately picture a mouth dew swilling
piece of white trash.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Picture the fifty two year old Everett Kershbam sounds right,
and James Gay thirty five years old, respectively, and over
a girl.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
Yeah, it's his name a lot of Apparently, Gay was
the primary aggressor.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Kershbaum was dating the chick that is Gay's act Her
name Stephanie Marshall.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Listen, Steph is a Steph's a dish Okay, She's a
thick faced woman of the docks.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
The older guy, Everett had the hatchet and Gay had the.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Machine dresser hatchet or machete was the machete was the aggressor.
Hatchet was on d Yeah, you're you're just grabbing something
and trying to protect your net.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
When it was all said and done, Gay had a
deep gash almost all the way through his pinky and
had an abdominal wound from the hatchet. Yes, and the
old man had lacerations to his hands and the face.
Now I don't want to hear Sean McVay talking about
iron sharpening iron anymore when he talks about five plays

(35:44):
in training camp with his great football team Metal God damnit.
That is a real fight of iron sharpening iron. Matt
Gay and the bad guy many years ago served time
for killing a sixteen year a while back with a
bicycle chain wrapped around his hand. So he's used that

(36:05):
definitely brings us back of a dark cloud to the
store he got out two years ago, and next thing
you know, he's got a machete and he's attacking hold Everett,
who defended himself with a hatchet. But an example, Matt
of real. When I saw this story, I said, well,
that is a real story of iron sharpening iron. A
hatchet versus a machete in a public's parking lot in

(36:25):
the redneck riviera of Florida, Panama City.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
And two men settling things with their hands, not at
a distance with the firing of a gun.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Well, their hands attached to gigantic medieval weapon exactly right.
No matter who's doing what in football camp, this year.
I don't care about USC's stupid, effeminate Oklahoma drill they're
doing midnight Alley or whatever. None of it is his
hard core ase. What went down in the public's parking lot.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
No, again, was it Gay that had the hatchet, Gay
with the machete? Okay, and the other guy, Everett had
the hatchet. Everett Kerschbaum, Kershbomb. I just like to envision him,
is like Mel Gibson in The Patriot, just coming with that. Well, no,
he was defending himself. That's he was not the agree.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
He was to defend any They remember Kershbom's fifty two
Gays thirty five. Yeah, that's so you got a younger
man who did fifteen years, who already killed a guy,
tough spress swinging a machete at you.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
I'm proud of Kershbomb. He goes home with the chick
and and his got some licks in with that hatch.
Just pride intact against the odds, was able to get
inside the long reach of the machete. That's that's a
real story of iron sharpening iron, you dorks. That's right,
and we'll be back there.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
It is Bob Weir, Mark Petrson, Money on Amphi seventy
l A Sports.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
He's got a machete, No worries. I got a hatchet
right here in my ash tray. Let me just grab them.
I'm gonna start traveling with my hatchet right
