Here we go in top stories past pe as we
get ready for Doctor Baseball. We have been binging that
ping Scooble to the Dodgers potential lockout.

Why not we get gotten so deep into this Google
ping Alore situation, Matt that we even had doctor elatrosh
on yesterday.

Right, and he brought it up. He brought up Scooble. Look,
we have said it lines up. Dave Roberts has even
acknowledged it. Ditch one of your three top fifty prospects
in baseball, one of those three outfielders alone, with one
of your currently not likely to make the playoff rotation
pictures for an arm that could very well be the
best one in the rotation. When October arrives even ahead

of shohe Atani, Yamamoto and Blake Snell were he to
be healthy, it makes sense if they want just the
third three pete in the last fifty years. But after
talking to doctor Ela Trash yesterday, if you're Mark Walter,
there is a financial component of this, because he mentioned
doctor Eli Trowis when he joined us that billions of

dollars are peed away every single season on pitchers, pittures
on the injured list, pictures that are paid to pitch
that don't pitch, whether they're on short term IL, long
term IL, or out for the season because of arm injuries.
Blake Snell makes thirty six point four million dollars per season.
(04:15):
Now almost nobody pitches two hundred innings anymore. Three guys
that's it managed to hit it last year. We used
to have three hundred inning pitchers. Now barely anyone can
make two hundred. However, your race or your number two
or even a really good three will typically hit one seventy.
So Snell, he is paid to be a starter, certainly
a one to two or three. He should be throwing
(04:37):
three hundred and forty innings over two years while making
over those two years seventy two point eight million dollars.
It's two hundred and fourteen grand per inning pitched. Or
if we're to go by starts. Over fifty guys made
thirty one starts last year, so at sixty two starts
over those two years, it'd be one point two million
per start. That is what Blake Snell would be making

per start in per inning, where he just average for
a number two starter. Instead, thanks to injury, thanks to
those loose bodies, he is at sixty four innings over
the season, and just over forty percent of season two,
he's at one inning I should say three innings sixty
one and three over these two years. Jamamoto is at
(05:19):
seventy seven. Ribleski is at sixty eight this year. Let's
say Blake could be at sixty innings by now we're
he playing, we'll put it behind those two is in
number three, but he's not. So instead of those numbers
we mentioned above that he should be making based on
your average projection, two hundred and fourteen grand per inning,
one point two million per start, and we can include

the playoffs last year, we can give him those extra
five starts, we can give him the extra innings. Basically,
what he is making because of miss time is two
point three million dollars per start and three hundred and
eighty five grand per inning pitched ax y five percent
premium on what his average should be, or the equivalent

of being paid seventy one million dollars per year instead
of thirty six million dollars per year. That is lost
production and basically lost revenue, exactly what doctor Elatrosh mentioned yesterday.
Glass now not much better including the playoffs. Twenty one
starts last year one hundred and eleven innings total at
(06:28):
twenty seven point three million dollars per year. Again, thirty
one starts one hundred and seventy innings would be eight
hundred and eighty grand per start one hundred and sixty
one grand per inning. Instead, he was paid last year
one point three million per start and two hundred and
fifty k per inning, again a fifty percent premium, meaning
(06:50):
the Dodgers overpaid those two guys by one hundred and
fifteen percent on what they projected the cost of each
to be because of pitching injuries.

But what's the price on the World Series they won
with those two guys out there.

It's a great point, pe And that's you led me
right to my point, just like twenty twenty four. Maybe
I've been seeing this thing all wrong. The Scooble thing.
Maybe they just want to cross their fingers like they
did in twenty four. Hope some guys come back get
a playoff boost with the arms that are available, because

remember they did not run out and get Scooble in
twenty four with all the pitching injuries. They thought about it,
but instead they didn't pay the premium, so they got
Jack Flaherty and they crossed their fingers. They had bullpen games.
They won Game three of the NLCS with Walker Bueller
on the mound, Games five against the Padres in a
two to two series, Game six of the NLCS and
a three to two series. We're both clinched using bullpen games.

And as I'm watching the game yesterday, no rain delay,
slight delay to patch up the mound for old Dotel
who was getting lit up. Eric is out there working
it again in his third start, a guy that was
literally picked up for a bag of cash. Cash considerations
is what they spent and what they offered the Blue

Jays to pick up Eric Klauer. Now I know it's
not the Braves or the Phillies or the Brewers, but
the Pirates are fifth and runs the Rockies are seventh.
The Diamondbacks are eight. The three teams he's faced in
the NL, their top half of the league lawers shut
him down. Team won all three of his starts. I
granted they scored thirty three runs in those three games.

That's that's a lot. You know, that's a good pat
that's a good bolstering starting point.

But in those three starts he tossed sixteen to two
thirds and as an ERA of two point seven after
coming to the Dog an ERA of six to seven
from the Blue Jays, and his last outing for them
being a miserable three homer, six run nightmare against the Angels.
I think the scoobl thing I've been horribly misguided. The

Dodgers just want to get to October. They want to
get as you mentioned, Pete, well, if they win the
World Series, it's worth it.

They want to get the guys who are part of
the billions of dollars of lost payroll and production, to
get some semblance of return on their investment. Because Snell
sure as hell is making it tough to feel good

So maybe Friedman's trying to sell Mark Walter on. You know,
we could probably afford to take on twelve to fifteen
million bucks Tarrek Scoobl's salary right put him in the rotation.
And I would understand if Mark Walter was like, didn't
this guy just have surgery?

Become the first guy to ever have an experimental nano
needle surgery to see if it's going to help and
get him back quicker. Because I feel like I already
got a little bit of that with Glass, Noow and Snell,
and maybe we'll just go ahead and wait for them
to come back. Because if you trade for school, what
are you doing? You're gonna put him ahead of Otani

maybe in Yamamoto. So let's just say he starts, then
you got Otani, then you got Yamamoto. Are you going
to use four starters? Not everybody does a lot of
them use three because of the days off. But if
you use four, now either thirty six point four million

Tyler Glassteal aren't even going to start in the postseason,

They're going to go to the bullpen again, adding insult
to injury, pardon the pun by again not being worth
all of these millions of dollars that Mark Walter paid them,
only to fall apart every single season. So I do
the top story to say forgive me for my pipe
dreaming by dinging the ping and talking about schoobl because

the Dodgers simply have the resources to do it, because
I can certainly envision Mark Walter saying, wait a minute,
you want me to lose fifteen million dollars off my
bottom line when I've got seven hundred and eighty thousand
dollars Ribleski giving me seven innings per start with a
two ERA and a seven and two record, And I
got this guy lower that I just picked up off

Waivers for nothing, and he's given me a three and
ohero record and a two point seven.
