Speaker 1 (00:01):

Petros Papaday guests left school after sixth grade on the

There is nothing you can do. You know it's coming.
(00:23):
This is the Petros and Money Show.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
On the home of your world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Make us your top preset on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
All right, I feel better? You good? Yeah, it's fine.
Be far. Why are you being weird. I'm not being weird.
You're being weird.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I'm not being weird. I'm just saying I'm not. Look,
I'll believe that the Dodgers sold in three days, but
I'm not going to accept Ramona Shelburne as a great
journalist of our time in space for regurgitating billionaire information.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I think she does good work.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, for the people she's serving, Yes, excellent work.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
For those.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Tonight Dodgers versus Ryle's Timmy Kates. We'll have Moroco Casino
Dodgers on deck. The wall will be there. First pitch
is at seven ten lour who has had no power
is pitching tonight. If you miss anything, you can podcast
our show. We had a very nice, very emotional interview
with our friend Oral Herschey's which in the last hour
(01:29):
it was good stuff with Oral. We have a Alan
Sliwa is going to join us in the next hour,
maybe with some more information about this sale and how
it happened so quickly. Three days, three days. There's a
company that I buy hats from. It takes five months,
five months. It's called clink Room. They make great hat.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Is that where you got that hat from Torrants? No,
this is my Torrent's rocket Ship Park hat. That is
a really nice hat. Have you ever been to the
rocket ship Park in Torrents? You don't and barely been
to Torrance.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
I lived Torrents adjacent and my friend the other day,
Mike Lennox, the Crown Prince of sam Pedro, he said,
you can't wear that Torrance hat. You ain't from Torrance
and it really upset me.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Is that hat from the same spot that you got
the rat hat that you gave to Craig Yestery.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
No, that was a cool hat.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
That was for rat Beach, very local hat as well.
I embrace obscure localism to the nth degree.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
By the way, Engineer Craig walked out of the suite
yesterday at Dodger Stadium after packing a bell, he was
very happy wearing the rat hat.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
He was happy, and I was happy. I didn't bring
the hack to give to him, but I saw that
he wanted the hat, and I it would have felt terrible.
Absolutely tomorrow we will have an event. I might give
you a hat at the BJ's restaurant in brue House
and Manabella from three to six. We got Dodgers, we
got chargers, uh dog BJ's gift cards. Kate's has got
(02:55):
a stack of stuff when he got there. Kate's that's
for the number of the day. Oh, you can maybe
take it to uh Montabello tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Real nice. I know you're not gone.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I'm gonna be back manning the ship. You know, while
you're out exploring Jupiter. I'm gonna be standing here on
the the rocket wait and make sure everything's okay over here.
You go and explore Montabello. I'll just wait here.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, there's also a MAT's not going to be here
because it's the Chargers at Texans five o'clock.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
We got Raiders tomorrow as well. Raiders in the air
zone count No, that's why you're not going to be there.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
The clink kubiak era is going to be underway. Fernando Mendoza,
by the way, he's going to play tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Now does this count as the play I would expect
to see Ferdy Mendoza. Yes, it's gonna play would yes,
I would expect that. That would make it interesting. Now
when it comes to this uh Bjay's remote and the
many prizes we have to give away. What do you
got there?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Got chargers tickets?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:53):
What do you got right there?
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Oh, you don't want to talk about it. It's for
the number of the day, all right. If after the
number of the day, we that maybe these are.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
The number of the day before the word of the day.
So we can get to it right now.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Because I'm very anxious about these itemas. I want to
know what you got there. I have a lot of
stuff at home that looks a lot like that that
I might want to also give away.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Well, I don't want our Hollywood mogul over here to
be upset about you know, certain DVD that I have.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
The executive producer of Rick and Morty. Yes he knows
what a mom and pop shop we already are well
the DVDs or maybe like a rival of his Ricking Morty.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
So oh really yeah, here's my number, I'm sure animation
number of the day, pet World Okay, the number of
the day is a.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
World of adult animation is small. Number of the day
is three.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
In the bullpen here at an FI seventy l a
sports where I have my office. Kevin Figures has his office.
There's an old couch that with a lot of stains
on there. They had a couple of new TVs. Or
we get to watch sports in the back bullpen area.
We call it the prep zone. U. Matt money Smith
has counted three boxes left from the old PMS office
which you guys have been kicked out of. You guys
(05:01):
used to have a full on office with a door
that had a lock on it that you guys only
had the keys to and me that office has been
overtaken now by an executive here at iHeart so all
your guys' stuff was boxed up and put into the bullpen.
Matt had four boxes last week. He is now down
to three boxes of his miscellaneous stuff in the bullpen area.
(05:23):
He went through why did take why didn't he take
all of it? He spent a good set, he was
going to take care of all of it. Well, he
went about forty five seconds to one minute looking through
the boxes last week?
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Was he too self important to do it?
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I just think he wanted to leave after the show
and said, hey, I got to do it. He left
three boxes, and in those three boxes include.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Are we going to give away Matt stuff? Because he
didn't think we should. There's a whole sleeve of DVDs
of movies. There's a whole box of like a CD case. Yeah,
but like the the leather case.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
There's about eight to ten v EHS cassettes there that
say money.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Another one on there says I grabbed it.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
I grabbed it right here, it says Fox Sports Net
Carl's Junior Sports Roundtable. Oh yeah, September thirtieth, two thousand
and two.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
That's probably Matt.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
So this is twenty four years ago VHS.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Matt mac on a Little Santa Monica shooting that show.
I grabbed that.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
One of the that I grabbed a Lee Hacksaw Hamilton mug.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
But that's not Lee's Lee's space on Lee's body.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
We should give that away. Okay, so that's gonna be
give that's got to go. I know you probably could.
You're still very well timed. There's the fake door, which
one of our operations guy about six years ago said, he.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Round up the door and we put it in this
cut for you from Santa Nis. Even that didn't I
knew that.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
You didn't know. I knew you knew. Yeah, even even
though I am stupid. Did he use big words?
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Though?
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Yeah, I do use big words.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
There's a lot of DVDs, big words, a lot of
DVD's in the boxes that are over there.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
All right, we got off the space. That's a good one.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
We've got loveless in Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
I don't know that I'm not familiar.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Brittany Daniel. You're in no shape for this town. Uh
Slam Dance on the road. Oh, Family Guy, Volume four? Sorry,
Steve Family Guy.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
No, he's just Steve doesn't care. Okay, it's I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Breakfast at Tiffany's beautiful, but you don't know Breakfast at
Tiffany's the Now do you know that Mickey Rooney uh
really appropriates Asian culture in this movie. They dress him
up with like a Chinese guy and they do like
a whole makeup deal. It's very offensive, like it is really,
(07:49):
you know, they couldn't hire just a normal mister Miagi.
They hired freaking Mickey Rooney and he almost wrecked with
his Asian appropriation.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
That's not cool.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
The movie Breakfast to Tiffany's with of course Audrey Hepburn.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I think you should throw away. And you know Audrey.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Hepburn, You know, like everybody thinks this movie is so
sophisticated because look at her, but in the movie she
plays a hooker. She's selling sex. That little spry Pert
body she's selling. And then the love interest, the man
George Peppard, is also a hooker, but a.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Jigglow from the A team George for Pard.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I guess yeah, that's him, and he is also a
hooker in this movie. And Breakfast at Tiffany's means you
just got used up by a john all night in
New York at some penthouse and then you're walking home
in the morning. They're doing the Walk of shame in
your cocktail dress and you're standing there eating a donut,
staring at the window at Tiffany's and all the jewels,
(08:50):
but it's closed because it's breakfast at Tiffany's. It's closed,
and you don't have the money even though you're a
whore to go in there and buy anything.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Anyway, Well, I guess I don't have to watch it now,
you just explain the entire movie.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
We also you can have Mickey Mickey Rooney.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
It's like, you know, mister chan or whatever that lives
on the same Like it's a really, really very racist.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
I say, you throw that away because I don't think that. No, no,
this is important.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
The great Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson movie Harley Davidson
and the Marlborough Man. Oh my god, we have that
on DVDs. Well this is actually still in the plastic. Yeah,
that one's not even been open. I take one home,
and we have two of the greatest movies of the
twentieth century still in plastic.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I think one of them.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
I'm gonna keep the great movie con Air, yeah, from
the nineteen nineties, and my favorite because I've been there,
Tombstone with Al Kilmer and Kurt Russell.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
So I do love Tombstone. I see a red sash,
I killed the man wearing it. Why are you out here, Doc?
You ought to be in bed. Why is my friend?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Hell?
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Doc, I got a lot of friends I don't. Yes,
So I'm gonna hang on to Tombstone. If you want
where's what down by the river walking on the water.
If you want conn Air, You're.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Not taking Tombstone. I'm giving it away along with breakfast.
The Tiffany's said.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
That's one thing the film, Uh, this is just this
is just the tip of the iceberg.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
As far as the DVD's, who's gonna bring them down?
You're not gonna be doing the raiders. You're gonna be
washing Ferdie Mendoza's Tain't what am I supposed to do?
Speaker 3 (10:31):
I'll give them to you to take that, thank you,
No right, I'll take them.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Today with his words the word of the season six
of The Simpsons too, by the way, sorry Stee, Stee's fine.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Okay, Rick and Morty os adebt to the Simpsons and
the Family Guy. He understands that today's word of the
day is usc uh and the Lakers very interesting moment.
I for the very first time, I'm trying not to
let the football season collapse on my head like a
(11:06):
like a like.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
A house of cards.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Usually I just deny that the football season is coming,
and then the week of the season arrives and it
hits me in the face and I'm not prepared as
far as you know, the travel. What am I gonna wear?
You know, I have suitcanes, all right. This year, I'm
gonna do it different.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
This year.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I'm gonna buy a sport coat because again, a little
wait I am going to I did pre check today.
I signed up for TSA pre check. I had my
first certificate from the San Pedro Hospital, an ID everything.
(11:53):
I went to the business like the notary or whatever
it is, and I walked in and I met a large,
good looking man and his name was William Hewitt.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
And he pointed at the wall and he said, that's
my father.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And his father was Bill Hewitt, who was an All
Pack eight Pack eight Player of the Year playing for
Bob Boyd at usc basketball. He played for the Lakers.
So there's a Laker team picture and he's sitting there
with Elgin Baylor and Jerry West and Bill Sharmon. Yeah,
he was on the Lakers. He was on the Buffalo
(12:32):
Braves and he was a Chicago Bull and he just
passed away. He was a Laker from sixty eight to
sixty nine, so I saw the picture with Jerry West
and all that, and from sixty nine to seventy two
he was a Pistoty originally came from Boston and he
went to Mount Sack and then he played two years
at SC was the Pack eight Player of the Year,
(12:54):
and then played it looks like about seven years, six
years in the NBA NBA All Rookie First Team nineteen
sixty nine and averaged seven points with the Lakers. Bill
Hewitt just passed away last year, and I met his son,
William Junior, who was a great guy, good looking guy
who went to Saint Bernard's who was also a basketball player,
(13:16):
and he's a real estate guy as well, but he
had his little notary business, and it was really nice
to meet him. He knew the show, and he showed
me the pictures of his dad and all that stuff,
and Bob Boyd, who I remembered was the US coach,
and Jim Efner who was an old US coach, and
all those guys. So it was a really nice walk
down memory lane to meet William Hewitt, and he told
(13:37):
me about his father who I had certainly heard about.
But it was cool, a cool little connection in the
great sports talk world. So rest in peace, Bill Hewitt,
who they just lost, but a great legacy, six foot
seven to ten out of Cambridge.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
So it took longer to get tsa pre checked and
go through the whole process.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
No doubt.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Like I gotta wait like five days for the government
to send me a number, and then I take that
number and I give it to the Fox Travel people
and now I'm not gonna have to take my seatpat
mask out of its case and have my tube and
all that. So everybody thinks, like, you know, I have
like a colostomy bag or something which you know I
don't want.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
So it took lot I sympathize with any of that
that it did to sell the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Interesting, It takes longer for me to do most things
then to sell most of these things that I need
to do to start the football season out, like get
a router. So my when I do the zoom calls
with my coaches in my basement, that I don't freeze
while I'm talking to ken Nea Mantalolo or whatever. And
so I need a router. I need a colon I
(14:47):
need a.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Uh, that's a pretty big thing to give me.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I need I need a router colonie, sport coat and
pre check why all of those things because I want
a sport coat. All of those things take longer than
the Lakers sale, All of the things I need.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
To do to start the season.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Is the sports to mention my preparation to call Michigan
State versus Toledo, and then turn around one day later
and call New Mexico hosting Central Michigan. All of those
things take longer than the beginning, all the way to
the end of the Lakers sale. From Mark Walter to
(15:33):
Eiger and Cush.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
The sports code. Though I'm fixated on the sports code.
Is this gonna be the look you're going with this fall?
Speaker 3 (15:41):
To go with it? No?
Speaker 2 (15:43):
No, Ramona Shelburne Fedora with a press pass in it,
because you know that's how she gets her work done.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
I'm sure, But I uh, it's just the look you
want to do? Or is that a fox finding?
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I just look, I just had the same suits for
a while, and I've been running the same stuff. I
don't want to be like Joel Myers wearing the same
thing on TV.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
For four ore. This is to wear out you got,
this is to travel, to travel? Why would I wear
a sports cooks? Why I want to wear a sports gum.
I'm selling vacuums door to door. No, and for TV,
you idiots.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
I envision you get onto you United fly like a
Betroos bobaeggas.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Here, I'd like to check in. I'm sitting in first
like Brockmere.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
I wear this tweed coat everywhere I go, so everybody
knows that whiskey on the rocks place a little bubb
and by the way, the.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Whiskey the PMS, the red Maker's mark.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Matt left it in the back. It's one of the
three boxes.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Well, Maker's Mark made us two bottles of whiskey that
say Petros and money. They gave Matt one and me
the other one. I immediately tried to take mine home
and dropped it in the lobby twenty years ago. And
well that other one is sitting in the bottom, always
makes fun of me, and he's never gonna give you know, Matt,
he's not.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
A he left it here, what's statue imitation? Trust me,
he's not giving it to me. I promise you that
well that they may grow legs here, just walk out.
It might be in Leslie Kate's gullet. Ronnie song. This
is a song of the day.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
Echo and the Bunnymen are a veteran English band that
had been making music with a core duo of Ian
McCulloch and Will Sargent for forty six years. Man and
they provide today's song of the day. He called Brussels
is haunted. New music is what you are listening to
from the forthcoming record titled.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Apples for Isaac.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
It'll be the thirteenth full Lake Studio album in first
and twelve years for the Liverpool lads that have a
scheduled release date of September eighteenth for the new LP.
Looking forward to this one. It's brand new music from
Echo and the Bunnyman's and enjoy.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Thanks Ronnie, and we'll be back with the top story
of the day. Tim Kate says he's got an analogy.
He's gonna blow us all the way by what buss Hard.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Petros Papadakis that money snick. This is Petro send money
on demand.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Thanks for listening, everybody.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
It's Petrosen Money on M five seventy LA Sports on
a We just won't be defeated Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
What a time to live through.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
The Lakers were owned by Mark Walter for less than
a year. My got Nick Lache and Jessica Simpson were
married longer than Mark Walter owned the Lakers. It is
just an unbelievable development. And now Bob Iger and Joshi
Kushner are the asses to kiss. If your name is
(18:38):
Geeter McGhee or Rob Pelinka or Nick Mazella or any
of our friends who work for the Lakers, We're not
really friends with Polenka, but anyway, he listens to the show.
He said he listens, but I doubt that he listens.
I don't feel like he does.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I think I wouldn't lie Petros if he says he
listens to the show.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Nobody in this situation is lying. I believe this deal
was done three in three days. In three days, I
believe this deal is done. It's gonna take me two
weeks to get pre check, but I believe this deal
was done in three day.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
I believe that we will win. I believe that we will.
I'll believe that we will.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Win tomorrow at the bjson Montabello. Bitch, Yeah, I want
to see out there I'll be there with Don McClain
carrying his six foot ten carcass around like the body
of the eye of Tola Coomini. We've got Dodger tickets,
We've got Charger tickets, We've got BJ's gift cards.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Ok, it's where's a Montabello Well, right over there, Don
sixty east or west?
Speaker 3 (19:44):
What's the sixty? You ever been to raging waters?
Speaker 2 (19:50):
BJ's rescue ever be Duccino BJ's restaurant in Bruehause in Manabello,
a place that we love when we want to see
the people. It says a short notice, but we figured
we have a strong following a Montopela and the people
will come. If you don't, I blame everybody, not myself.
It's located in the Montabello town Center. This deal was done.
(20:14):
It even took us longer to do this deal to
make this Montabelo thing happen. Then the Lakers were sold
over the weekend from Mark Walter to Bob Eiger and
Joshi Kush for almost the same amount of money too.
It's crazy, so it can be done.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Well.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
You know, I like to think that I play in
the same yard as a lot of those big billionaire types.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
The truth is, I'm just a little bit below, actually
just a little below here in the am radio.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
You're with that young girl in the sandbox in Barstow.
That Colin Cowherd drove by.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
It wasn't Barstow's baker, my bad baker by the largest
thermometer world. Even more, hopefully you're in that same sandbox.
Got up. It's time for the top. We want to
see you tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
It starts at three, but right now it's time to
the top story of the day to.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah, Petross, I think it's more relevant than ever, especially
with the news today that Mark Walter is selling the
Lakers a year after.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Buying today Oh boy.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Yeah, the sports world is all wondering why, speculation from
every angle of this transaction, but bringing it back to
the actual sports world itself, it ties in with this
national narrative around the Dodgers that they are the villains
of Major League Baseball.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Petrol.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Something you asked Mookie Bets yesterday when you were talking
to you. I thought it was a great question. Good
job by Okay, within his fall, I like this question.
Let's post this one on social media.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
I mean, you think about it within a span of
ten years, stick your hand up my ass and make
me a puppet speak Petrol speaks.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
In the last ten years the Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
The Dodgers went from a franchise Petrols that was too
cheap to put lacquer on wood at Campdleback ranch to
a team that has now a blank checkbook just to
write anything they want, for however much they want, for
however long they want to make this team a winner.
And I love that about them. They are major League
Baseball's villain. You know what, The Dodgers need to embrace it.
(22:10):
Don't apologize for it, not explain it, not spend time
trying to convince everybody that they're actually the good guys.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Lean into it, Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
What do you want that? It's not their nature? I mean,
Mookie Betts is not a bad guy. He's a soft spoken,
very kind man for all seasons. Freddie Freeman is everybody's
big brother. Otani apologizes just for flipping his hair every
time he gets into the batter's box.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
You're right, the Dodger players as as a whole aren't
actual villains. Mookie's a good guy. Freddie freemore of the nicest,
most respected players, of his generation.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Dave Roberts, everybody loves him, and everybody loves Dave Robert.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
I mean maybe Tioscar Hernandez is, you know, trying to
trying to be too much of a hero this year,
and yeah, trying to hit it out. But I wouldn't
say that's villainous.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
The players aren't the villains. The managers like the guy
in the neighborhood watch side the creepy. The Dodgers don't
have anybody that looks like the neighborhood watch sign. I
like to report a car that just word watching in
this neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
You watch out.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
The villain itself is the organization and the machine. The
villain is the idea that the Dodgers can seemingly identify
a weakness, find the best player available, add that player
to their roster, and win a World Series Championship year
after a year or at least being contention for it.
They're at the trade deadline. They get Trek scoobl and
everybody's freaking them out. They got the biggest prize. Everybody
(23:27):
wanted them, but the Dodgers landed them. Detroit fans loved him.
Scooble wanted to help Detroit win the championship, and all
of a sudden, the Dodgers came calling, and now he's
wearing Dodger blue. From the Dodger perspective, it's brilliant baseball.
From everybody else's perspective, it's comically villainous.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Couldn't they have traded for him too, though.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
They could have if they had. The Dodgers have the
money and the prospects. Imagine watching a superhero movie where
the villain already controls most of the city. Then the
villain looks around and says, you know what, what are
we missing another super weapon? That's the Dodgers, And it
brings up this question, Petros. If the twenty twenty six
(24:08):
Dodgers were a comic book villain, who would they be?
Would they just stop? The answer is simple.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Is it Bane? When he takes over Gotham?
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Thanos oh, the hand guy? Yeah, not the Green Goblin,
not the Joker, not Alex Luthor, Thanos all the crystals.
Hear the similarities. Thanos is obsessed with collecting the Infinity Stones,
like the Dodgers and players. The Dodgers obsessed with collecting
baseball talent. Santos wants to assimble enough power to control universe.
The Dodgers want to as simple enough talent to control October.
(24:38):
Santos believes that once he has all the pieces, resistance
becomes almost pointless. The Dodgers are creating a roster. Opponents
are looking at each other saying, how do we beat this.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Rosters Yeah, and struggling with his own immortality right, like
he's he's he's got, like he's more, he's a more philosophical,
like I'm not a big I didn't watch The Avengers
because I stopped watching the comic movies because I feel
like they ruined what I grew up with and love,
and they bastardized it and popularized it and made it suck.
(25:08):
It made me think of Robert Downey Junior. Whenever I
see The Iron Man. They made me think of Nick Cage.
Whenever I see The Ghostwriter. They made me think of
that little bitch that's married to Zendaya. Every time I
see Spider Yeah, or Toby Maguire That ain't Spider Man, No,
he I mean to me, but that they ruined it
for me, So I am only marginally aware of what
you're discussing, explained. I know that he killed everybody, and
(25:30):
then everybody came back and they spoiler alerted the Crystals
in the Hand and Josh Brolin. But I wouldn't be
wrong if I said Fanos does have some philosophical internal
conflict going on about what he's doing. I don't know
if the Dodgers do or not.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
As Mookie Bed said to you yesterday, Wow, you use
a lot of big words. I'm not necessarily speaking to you.
Petrov Santos isn't necessarily motivated, my penny.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
He was a lot of bookie.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
He's not the Joker. He's not causing chaos because he
wants to watch the world burn. He's methodical, calculated, patient,
just like the Dodgers, who like.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
The Joker, the Padres, that the Snakes, it's the Joker,
it's the Padres. One percent.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
The Dodgers aren't unbeatable, and that's an important thing to
keep in mind. Villains aren't supposed to win every battle,
but they're supposed to win most of the battles.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
I would say the A's are the green Goblin just
off the color palette. Yeah, color palate coming in on
that cool glider.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
The Dodgers have the depth. They had the analytics, they
have the player development.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
They can still lose. That's baseball.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
That's what makes baseball in October so compelling, because the
villains might win, or the good guys might win. Let's
face it, the Dodgers are the Patriots or the Golden
State Warriors. They're the Alabama Alabama Crimson Tide. They're the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
If you're saying that they are those things, they're the villain,
are a dynasty because they win. I wouldn't say that
makes some villain though. I mean, you're around those guys,
and they're such nice guys.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Nobody watches a great superhero movies hoping the villain disappears
halfway through. No, they want the villain to get all
the way to the end, can either be defeated or
overcome something. It would kind of suck if that. If
Thanos dies like seventy five percent of the spoiler alert
the next one coming out, I think he dies. Petros
I thought he was dead already.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Have no clue. I have known nothing about these movies.
I just saw.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Spottism disintegrate on mute on a plane.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
The obvious comparison to the Yankees the Evil Empire for decades.
That's what they were known for. They had the money,
they had the stars, they had the history. But the
Dodgers are not the bad guys. The players themselves are great.
They don't trash talk, they don't mock other fan bases
like some players and sports do.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Oh like Pete Crow Armstrong.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
They don't need to intentionally disrespect the game either by
wearing their hack crooked on the pitchy mound like Fernando Rodney.
In fact, most effective version of this villain is the
one who doesn't say much at all. They just go
out and win, and that's what the Dodgers do.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Okay, Can I make a comment? Sure?
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Is this the sad Gwyneth Paltrow's a Widow Avengers music?
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Is this? This is an end game in Infinity War? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (28:09):
This is the Fanos theme because like the Dodgers, Thanos
wants to rule the world. And that's what the Dodgers
have done. In the Baseball Ruld. They've absolutely ruled it.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
They do. They have ruled it in the last two
years and they're looking for a third.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
So bringing it back to Mark Walter selling the Lakers,
I think it's why Laker fans a little bit disappointed
they saw Thanos taking over their world at Crypto dot
com arena.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Like, we're going to be part of the Fantos domination.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
He's gonna come in and do this, He's gonna come
and do that, He's gonna buy this. We're gonna have
this player, We're gonna have this kind of amenities. And
now he's selling.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
After a year, and I think now it's uncertainty. Oh not.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Laker fans are looking at a world where they don't
know what's gonna happen. Is Stanto's gonna rule this world
or some punk ass named Spider Man gonna rule this world?
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Well, Josh was happening inside your butt? Well, Josh Kushner,
is he Spider Man? I guess? Okay? Forgetting Bob is
uh the big Goblin? Okay?
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Soon, So on a day in which Laker fans are
sad because Mark Walter has sold the team and there's
uncertain now with he.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Could be Doc ok who Doctor Octopus? I mean you're
getting pretty obscure here.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
With Oh shut up, you sit here and do a
whole story about fantasy.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
You don't have to know who Doc ok is. I
have no clue.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Doc Stupid ass, I don't know who that is. Now
you're gonna tell me you don't know who the Hobgoblin is.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
Either, you're making up. You're making up.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Reference the Hobgoblin just moments ago. Is Luca doncis the Hobgoblin?
Is that what you're trying to say?
Speaker 2 (29:44):
No, No, I would say he's more like the Sandman. Oh,
we'll be back with more Petros and money.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
It's okay to be the villain. It's okay to be
the villain. Well, I don't really think. I don't think
they've fit that role. But the team doesn't fit the ro.
It's benef it fits.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
It doesn't feel like New York Gotham City, gargoyles, gargling oil.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
It doesn't feel like that. Doesn't feel like that at all.
But they're not They're not Gotham. They're La and they're
here to stay.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yes, we'll be back with more Petros money on a
seventy LA Sports, but not with the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
They're not gonna stay with the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
This is Petros money on demand.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
Petro some money showing five seventy LA sports with you
until six o'clock tonight. Matt Muney Smith is off he
is with the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yes boy Dogs.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
As they head to Houston for their big preseason showdown
with the Texans tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, Petrol Some Money
Show live at BJ's Restaurant in brew House in Montabello
from three until six pm. Come out see touch. Say
hello to Petros and Don McClain. You got Dodger tickets,
Charger tickets, BJ's Lord.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
And me Donn is not a friendly guy.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Well, maybe give Donn a and then if you get
the approval to step forward, then you can come forward.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
It's kind of weird that we're gonna do a remote
with our least friendly co host and the rotation, like
the one guy who really doesn't like people and public
things is coming to be with people.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Maybe it's a new down, Maybe he's turned to new lead.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Like a d daw and a new Dawn like. Look,
I will go there and I will make up for
what he lacks in graciousness towards the people with my
over the top, absolute insane chart.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
That's truth.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
It's not really work, as David Bowie tells us, it's
just the power to charm.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
That's the BJ's Restaurant brew House in Montabello tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
I'll be there, but I would just say, I mean,
it's not like a rattlesnake or something where you're gonna
if you get bit, you're gonna go to the hospital
or something like. I muldn't say approach him with that
kind of caution. It's not like a coyote walking around
like we're stand inside call animal controller, like daytime raccoon
that might be.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Rabid, you know, oh Hendulus. Yeah, I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Use a little more caution and walking up to dawn
then you would perhaps walking up to me. I think
that's a fair thing to say.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Fair enough tomorrow from three to six at Beja's Restaurant
in brue House in Montabello, either after the sixty off
the sixty freeway at Paramount Boulevard or saying Gabriel Boulevard
prizes on site, happy hour specials and great sports talk.
By the way, speaking of snakes, we have that story
a we could go about that guy in Texas who
got bit and he needed like sixty vials Yeah yeah,
the venom or like ninety vials whatever.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Was because he's a big guy anti venom.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
I saw a story that he owes now thousands of
dollars in anti venom to the hospital in medical bills
for the antivenom. I'm sure there's a go fund crazy
go fund me fixes everything, everything all right.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
We still have a lot of dishes to wash. We
will have Alan Sleewaw on in the next hour. We'll
do the quick hits in the next hour. Do you
enjoy my top story?
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Yeah? I enjoyed your top story. I thought it would
have been Steve.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
I mean yeah, okay, Well, Steve from Rick and Morty
is here and we thank him and at Ronnie Fossio
on Twitter. Ronnie will post the playlist. Ronnie's doing his
thing all week. Did a great job yesterday while we
were out with Mookie Bets at Dodger Stadium. We can
check out that interview on the iHeartRadio app for your
smartphone and at Tim Kits on Twitter as well. He'll
(33:25):
be doing the pre and not post tonight right just
the pregame's pre Marongo Casino Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
So we got all our ducks in order. Here it's
time for some sex up fine brought to you by
your Sokel Toyota dealers. We make it easy.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
The Dodgers sold the Lakers, and the soul of the
CU DoD can be bought like a cheap whore. Actually,
I think a cheap whore. That transaction would take less
than three days. Probably, that's probably something we're talking about,
like a thirty second transaction, three minutes, thirty minutes, that's
(34:02):
a cheap whore. Is one of the few things that like,
you could take your cell phone if it's cracked to
the phone, doctor bro, I fixed phone, right, good. You
take your phone, and it would take longer sometimes to
fix your phone than it did to sell one of
(34:24):
the most iconic franchises in the history of sports. Forget
about the NBA sports, the Lakers, or the Dodgers, or
the Yankees or Real Madrid Sports.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Three day sail three day sail Man. The world moves
fast these days. Huh.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
It is pretty crazy you think about it. The owner
of the Dodgers just flip the Lakers like he's just
turning over a three bad Town Claremont.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Like you flip the bridesmaid to your friend at a wedding. Hey,
this is Courtney. Like that's how fast it happened. It
took them three days to get back to me. To
come and get a dead rat from under my house.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
That was a textos. We all have these stories, sir,
and it is a crazy thing to remember. Preach it. Brother.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
We grew up with Hal Fishman. Now that's a journalist,
not these Billy Mays trying to sell you a sponge.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
That's right, How Fishman had integrity.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
I'm not gonna let you say Billy Mays was a
great man.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
He said, crackhead, watch your mouth. Allegedly, We'll be back
with more Petro somebody a whole other hour. Fun fact
quick hits Leewah, Dead and Alive,
