(02:10):
Welcome back there, Don McLean,Jonas Knox, appreciate it. Nice
three days off, five days withthe wife, celebrating our twenty fifth So
thank you to you and the folksthat helped out. Appreciate it. Aloha.
Hello, but you missed out ona lot back here in the States.
What about the echo? How muchecho? Did I miss out on?

(02:31):
Almost none? Well, we broughtVic back problem solved. Yeah,
pretty much. I mean we brought, we brought Bick. Well, you
did not buy the headset like yousaid you. I did not with the
caddiers like the stuff you said you. Matt said he was gonna do it.
Yeah, okay, that was justbs Well you said like it's taking
care of the engineers are on it. That's what you never said anywhere from

(02:53):
what you said when you said that, that was just lip service to get
us to move on from that.I thought it was. I might have
been service from you as well, because you said that you were going to
buy headphones. Well, no,I have the cadders. I ordered copy
that. I ordered another tablet todo some testing and one with XLRS will
get him a more legitimate broadcasting headset. Okay, that was the text I

(03:16):
got. That has Has that beenmoved forward at all? That has that
has not been moved forward at all? Zick Vic? Has that been Has
anyone reached out to you? Vic? Everything is fluid, Everything is fluid.
It's status quo. I'll take thatas a note. Yeah, so
it just that died the second youleft town. It died. So it's

(03:37):
let's let me get these guys offmy back. Stop breathing down my neck.
Yeah, and the echoes back asVic trouit creeps the thing up though,
Is that what happens? Yeah,it's gone and then he creeps it
up like Ronnie said, exactly asRonnie described it, because he can't hear
it. He's got opposition, oppositionalbehavioral problems. He just opposes everything we
do. I have the audio downto its minimum, and I believes helping

(04:00):
a situation. No, okay,I'll do it right now. If you
say go, I'll order the gamingheadset with the Caddiers. Well, is
it better quality than what we're workingwith or is it just because you want
to order it because it has cartiers. I'm willing to find out. Help
us at all. I'm willing tothrow ninety bucks to find out, as
long as Vic will post a photoof him with the Caddyer gaming headset doing

(04:21):
you know the opening segment with usKate's Ronnie, I'm playing under protest because
I bought sandwiches on Friday because Ilost a bet and gosh darn it,
I want my sandwiches back. Whybecause the echo because the echoes back,
But it's it's back because Vic turnsup the audio. We'll have Vic make
you a peanut butter and jelly sandwechand I mean, I'll be honest down

(04:41):
to its lowest level. Maybe maybemy ears are not trained because I've been
out of the studio for three days. But I do not hear the echo
that we want. Well, Ijust think it's because the batteries are dying
on your beats. It may bethe borrowed set of headphones. I threw
on no, but I think theyou're wrong cats. The bet was about
what the problem is, and weknow the problem is Vic's headphones. Oh

(05:03):
are you sure that that goes back? Yeah, says sure, Vic says
Vic. You say right now yourvolume? Really you're really going the way
down minimum. He's got a terribleheadset. We've changed. Look, the
dynamic is better than it was.I believe it's better than it was.
And I was the one that usedto freak out about this all the time.

(05:24):
I believe it's better than it was. I believe it'll be even better
when we get Vic a new headset. Now will that headset have Caddy Here's
like a small Asian woman. Perhapsif that's what it takes, then maybe,
but I think that we should maybeget some on the first try,
more legitimate headphones, so we justkind of kill the fly with a Bazuka

(05:46):
more legitimate than that. Well, they are pretty good, but I don't
think they'll fit his head. They'reprobably too small. They are for adults,
like a pebble head. Little Japanesegirl could be so vick. You
had the Lakers in seven. Youstill feel good about that? No,
you don't. Well, game onewas a disaster. You missed, he

(06:08):
had a great prediction. Well, certainly you've changed that after. And I
love the Clippers in six as well. They didn't ask you about that as
a side I really care about atthis point, at this particular juncture as
the Lakers, because they they losttheir ninth consecutive game to the team in
the exact same fashion they lost theprevious eight, like exact same fashion.

(06:29):
Competitive suite, ugly night in Denver, fullos Lakers. Uh D'Angelo Russell going
six for twenty from the field. You're blaming del deloaded. Absolutely, he's
He's one of one of the culpritswhen you get blown out in game one,

(06:51):
and I know it's just one game, it's a very very small sample
size. Well, did they getblown out or did they they just watch
the Nuggets away in the fourth quarteragain, like they have up ten after
up ten in the first quarter andthen the last three quarters. Sure,
Denver basically just became Denver. Butyou still a bit of a game,
association, and you still got abit of a game in the third,

(07:12):
right, and you're still like, yeah, I could see I could see
them working. And then in thefourth it's like, oh, no,
that's right, I forgot Nick NikolaJokic just goes, yeah, Okay,
I'm done. I'm gonna I'm gonnanow come for like eight in a row,
and there's nothing you can do itsound with your with your smug you
sound that way. They they whittledit down to six and the fourth where

(07:33):
were you when they whittled it tosix? Checking the box score to see
how many shots Lebron James took.Oh, it's one. He took one
in the final nine minutes. Theturnovers for yes, seven turnovers. You
took one shot in the final nineminutes. Vick didn't help the situation.
Well, so many guys disappeared, you know, Hachie Morris on disappeared,

(07:55):
Austin Reeves disappeared. Of course,d Russ was was horrific. Anthony Davis
showed up. But again, ifyou're gonna be Denver, you need like
a forty point came from. Areyou adjusting your prediction? None at all,
Vic, I will not vacillate it. Once. Once I go,
once I go on the line, once I go in on the tight rope.

(08:16):
Lakers and seven Lakers and seven gameone was a disaster. I was
exasperating. I was so exasperated.I put on perfect day, that underground
Japanese movie stop by a whim Winders. Oh yeah, your little vendors,
good for you. Well, youknow, I criticized Vic. You know

(08:39):
what Vick's doing when you were gonemad? I criticized. I criticized Vic
saying because he was talking more aboutTaylor Swift's terrible album and oh, don't
do that. You know, hewent a whole thing that and uh,
comparing her to Sylvia Plath and thesethings. She didn't stick her head in
the oven for this. That wasthe first sentence of the Baste review,

(09:03):
and they had to take the writer'sname off the review because of the Swift
with the death threat death threats fromthe Swifties. Swifties don't tolerate it.
Not allowed to have an opinion.According to the Swifties, just like the
K pop stuff, can't take ona K pop They'll come get you.
We are only celebratory when it comesto K pop. With Swift, we
have a different approach. And Vicsaid something about Swift again, and I

(09:24):
flipped my lid and I said, you know, when did you become such
a star effort? Vic? Iliked it when you talked about Lee Michael's
obscure things, things that are cool, sumo wrestling. I don't want to
sit here and hear you wash Taylorand Kata's balls. Doesn't need it.
There's no need Travis and Katay. The world does not need another positive review
of a Taylor Swift album. KTAand Keith Tractor trailer. Well, on

(09:50):
Friday night, when I talked aboutTaylor Swift, it seemed to resonate with
the Dodgers TV broadcast with Joe Davisand Oral Hershis. Yeah, a couple
other star slatherers and friends of theshow. Maybe they would pay. Dude,
I won't release stop request and I'ma request I wasn't aware we were

(10:15):
doing this. Well, here's whathappened. I heard hit me. Here's
what happened. I was waiting forsome paid pay again, give me the
Gregory. Here's what happened. Uh, Vic. I thought I was gonna
hear Todd Vic in his political questto appeal widely, like a politician and
electing an election year. Vic's questof appeal widely? What does he do?

(10:37):
He talks, he washes Lebron's balls, he washes Bronny's balls, he
washes Otani's balls, and Taylor Swift. So those are superstars. And I
called him out for it and saidthat's bs. He defended himself in his
way, and then he got ashout out on Friday Night. I believe
now it's from Oral and Joe.Kate drowning his sorrows after a long week

(11:01):
of great sports talk at Don Kucko'sGreat Sports Talk. He's got to take
those calls. There's no travel getawayday. Pull the sound, y'all,
and Kate's refuses to pull the sound. I wasn't at the stage. He's
in his tops. He's like agoldfish in a schooner of margarita. So
vic had to had to record itoff his television, and that is why

(11:22):
we're here, That's why it soundslike this in this moment. Let me
rewind it a little bit. Ithink you can even hear the ellipsmacking a
Victor Brick. Oh, come on, Ronnie, we can do do itway
with the music real quick. Justhere's a lipsmacking hess A key swift.
Okay, thank you appreciate it.I don't think all this content, but

(11:43):
yes there should larc let's just siton in this swift. You can't understand
me. He strike on one sidedude album release thirty one songs. THU,
Yeah, you gotta listen to VictorBrick. Yeah. Just driving into
the ballpark today, he's on there. He's doing his hike hike WU that

(12:07):
where it is? And uh hegot killed on social media because he wished
his wife happy birthday in his haiku. But free to that. He was
talking about Taylor Swiss new album andsports fans on five seventy. We're appreciating
that. Sonyady in three sixty herein his first year with the Dodgers.

(12:31):
IM, he's still going Wow,there I thought there was more? Is
there more common, Vic or wasthat it? That was it? Okay,
it was a wonderful exchange. Iwant to thank thank the fellas,
sure, the coolest dudents in thebooth man. Thank you, Joe,
thank you all. But you don'tdo the haiku here, you do it
on Rovean and Rodney. I meanthat's what they were talking about. Well,

(12:52):
they were listening to the shows. They always do. They're very very
avid listeners. Well, I meanthat, Michelle, to be fair,
what's your man got to do withme? Yeah? You play that Sea,
I'm trying to hear you playing thathere, says he hears it on
the opening of the Petros and Moneyshow, and all right, let's go.
It's a horse of a different color. Well, the feedback was on

(13:13):
Petrol on the Petrols Some Money show. That's one of the feedback came,
plenty of feedback. I'll tell youthat with that recording, that's bs VIC.
That's back door. You bet youbackdoored that sound right here saying the
feedback came because of Petros Some MoneyAll right, hit me you backdoorist.
Speaking of that, Vic, Iwant you to be here for a moment
that we can have with our radiofriend Matt Muddy Smith. Am I buying

(13:35):
the kiddy headphones? Or no?I don't think it's worth the ninety bucks
I think, so don't do it. Don't do it. No, Tom,
don't do it. All right,he wasn't gonna do it. I've

(13:56):
got it right here. Ready,We're gonna do it. All I know
is vix and dress bluffing. Thisis like the Cuban missile crisis. All
right, vick Uh. I wantto talk about this because you were here
last week when Cat's got a songsubmitted to the show, a punk rock
song about our show that I wantedto play for Matt while he's here before

(14:16):
we get started. We played itlast week, but us he was in
the throes of his vacation. Well, it's just a fun song. So
just stand by and Matt, thisis a punk rock song submitted, and
I want you to enjoy it.It's about our show. Okay, It's
a punk rocker beautiful. Are youready? Matt rows back? Shoot the

(14:37):
brace punk look fine on the wife, please, guys, fucking great?
Fu that so it's not sucking,Yeah, feeling great, trikes funny skills

(15:20):
and you know, immediately I thoughtdone what are we doing? Why are
we why are we c esers? You know? Why does it say Petros?
Matt? Yeah? I mean, why do we have to be pole
smokers? And it turns out Kate'sput all this stuff into AI and something
and they write a fake song foryou, And that's what they think of
us, Matt. They think we'repole smokers. Everything else is fine,

(15:43):
but it says great sports talk onthe clock. What I always tell you
guys, stay on the clock, stay on the clock. So what rhymes
with the clock? Played again?Sports the clock? Now it's not.

(16:04):
I don't know why AI would dothat to us, and why they know
we smoke pole? Maybe Kate shareda little bit more information than you show.
You know, that's alleged. Youjust put keywords and I put it
on Ronnie Kate's Petro's mad, greatsports tall on the claw? On the
claw? Did you put in puzzo? I don't know how to spell it.
No, it is a Greek word, different alphabet. Yeah, I

(16:26):
just don't know how they knew thatwe smoke pole. You know, it's
like that. It's like that,uh, the dumb and Dumber with the
gas man sign. It's like,oh, how did he know I have
gas? You know these guys aregood. You know that AI is really
good. It's pretty good song though, right, yeah, I can't get
I can't get out of my headit guys a Ramon's flavor to it.
I just I don't know if wecan support that, right, you know,

(16:48):
the the artist, the artist friendlytype of show that we are the
small struggling artist type of shit. We're not like Vic who's out there celebrating
Taylor's swim. No, we celebratestar of the independent label, make the
album in your bedroom. Island Parkall struggle for a decade before you get
your first taste of success. Phineasand Billie Vick is out here trying to

(17:11):
celebrate a billionaire. I love theweekend set, y'all? Yeah, a
billionaire. Yeah. But that beingsaid, Matt, so can we do
this with A Are we okay withthis? You know? Didn't say S
and C S. That's too goodto let go. Ever, since the
AI thing, everybody's now wanted tostart doing a bunch of songs you know

(17:32):
on AI regarding our show, andit's like, no, no, no,
that one's fine. We don't needanything else. But you can also
think about it in this regard. Not really that easy to get anything out
of Bob Schmid these days. He'sgot to do the daily Dan Patrick Rica
very busy man. He's got tofear the fro Pod. They got a
big win over the Magic over theweekend. The Caps centerpiece of his fear

(17:53):
of the fro Pods. Spider Mitchellout there. So he's going on.
So yeah, he's a bit ishe guy Steve Bush? You know,
he does stuff for us out ofthe goodness of his heart. It's very
true. And he's raising kids, lives on the opposite coast a little bit
hard. Maybe A is Maybe theAI is our future. And you know

(18:15):
what, tip of the captain,Tim Kats for taking the plunge, you
know, for getting into the wow. But could he take the plunge if
you and I hadn't crossed that bridge, so to speak. It's fair point
by smoking pole. Yeah you know, listen says you are. That's what
I'm saying. AI is spoken, playing one more time, you know.

(18:38):
And I was just thinking the wholecrazy I was crazy good. I was
thinking the whole time, We're neveron the clock, like this is happening,
Like AI has labeled us as polesmokers, and Matt doesn't even know.
He's out in Hawaii shooting the breezeat the Trade Winds, having a
great time, and he's gonna comeback and get right in the faith with

(18:59):
the dog fat throats back shoot thebrace, funk funk fog on the wife
class. I like that. Ilike that guy like cats and Ronnie's so

(19:21):
much latter great spots talk, Holdthe flock, everybody now that Trot's back
sucking? Why does hey? Iknow that? How do they know I
have gas here? The first timeyou hear it, it's always a little
bit of a shock. It's aboutthe fourth time you hear it, you

(19:45):
start crying tears. And I don'tknow why. It's so funny. You
know, somebody called me a smallsmoker when I was younger. I got
pretty upset, you know, ButJoe Smoon, he's sucking. I want
to know what prompts hate's put in. I don't, But I don't know
why they know that about it,possibly put in. I don't know how
they could possibly know that about us. We know what's so wild? They

(20:07):
could be at CBGB's on a Fridaynight downtown Lee yea store now is it?
Yeah? The summer line? What'sthe sale? Rock like Matt?
Do they have anything at the goodPrizes? Okay, well here's our show
today. We're gonna have James Worthyon because look, we have a really

(20:30):
weird week. We have a fullshow today, but the rest of the
week one o'clock jacked up. Ohmy god, now I know why it's
got an hour left. Those peopleare screwed. Yeah, that's terrible.
So we have James Worthy today insteadof his normally scheduled day because it's one

(20:52):
o'clock to two thirty tomorrow and WednesdayThursday, we have no show. See
how he turns the volume up aswe go on, Right, you could
feel it. We have no showshow on Thursday schedule. That's the short
version. And then Friday one o'clockas well. I think yep, yeah,
yeah, we are flexed all week. You know what that means a

(21:15):
lot of sucking sea First, allin my evenings are wide open. How'm
gonuna look like my mouth is gonnalook like a sex Gentlemen, get your
polls in position, because I amoff the air at three thirty every day
this week. See what I'm gonnado. I'm gonna smoke every pole between
here and up and down the coast. Let's go. James Worthy Coming up

(21:48):
next am five seventy l A SportsLive Everywhere on the iHeartRadio app going until
seven pm. David Vassa will joinus to on Foster Head Coach at UCLA,
both of those in the five o'clockhour, but right now, driven
by the Ford F Series, America'sbest selling truck for forty seven years in

(22:11):
counting, head to your Southern CaliforniaFord Dealers for great offers on a Ford
F Series truck built Ford Tough withGame two tipping off at seven pm tonight.
It's James Worthy, the one andonly. The jersey hangs in the
rafters, the memories of him asa player in our minds and hearts.
But of course he is an EmmyAward winner on spectrum. The Lakers are

(22:36):
in the playoffs, fighting it outanother game tonight, rough Game one,
and here to discuss it all withus is big game James Worthy on early
this week because of the crazy Dodgerschedule. Thank you for accommodating us.
James. How are you, hey, hey, hey all good man.
You know just pregame trying to geta pregame face going here, a pregame

(23:02):
attitude, you know, so afterthat h disastrous second quarter of a game
in Game one, so yeah,it's just you know, you you the
idea is to try to split one, and that's hard to do in Denver.
They don't lose it home that often, and when you have a slight

(23:29):
opportunity with the lead, not toguarantee a win, but you know they
that that second quarter will haunt youfor a long time. Yeah, you
mentioned the pregame face you want toyou get on James. I mean,
it looked like they were ready, you know that that was the one they
had to get that they got therest even with the play in. You
know how much this team will wearyou down. And it just almost felt

(23:52):
like, and you know, wouldlove to know kind of your thoughts that
they started to figure this out,the Nuggets sort of weather the storm and
by the time the fourth quarter rolledaround. It's just so reminiscent of all
these Laker Nugget games that end withNicola Yo Kitch either making a shot or
making the pass and the Nuggets pullingaway in the final five minutes. Yeah,

(24:15):
you know, for about the lastseveral weeks or so a month,
even post All Star Break, Istill, even in the play in situation
that they were in without some keycomponents, particularly Vanderbilt and different lineups and

(24:37):
stuff, I still didn't think theywere a team that anybody wanted to see
in the first round. Even Denvergiven the fact that they've beaten them eight
times in a row, kind ofembarrassed them last year with the sweep.
You know, I still you don'twant to see them in the first round
until after Game one. You know, it was remnants of reminiscing of like

(25:00):
last year. You know, whenyou have a twelve point lead in the
second quarter, you protect that itmight get down to eight. And the
frivolous amateur turnovers that were may givethe momentum to Denver was just something that
they couldn't overcome. And then allof a sudden, Pope woke up,

(25:23):
all of a sudden Porter woke up. So they got to go in tonight.
I know they had a good start. They're going to have to do
that again, and they're going tohave to sustain it for forty eight minutes
and probably the biggest battle this season, how much do you think James is

(25:44):
fatigue a factor when they played thisteam, it seems And how much was
it a factor when you guys usedto go to war, because man,
you guys didn't seem to get verytired. And I know you were tired,
but you seem to have it atthe end of the game. Get
tired, you know in January whenyou know you played like five games and

(26:06):
you know, eight days and someback to back games and we travel commercial
so Eastern airlines, you know,t w A, sitting through storms,
and but you never get tired inthe playoffs. Never you got the whole
summer to uh to to rest. You know, this is when you pour

(26:27):
it in and pour it on.You know, mentally there's no there's no
resting. Uh. You don't gettired. You know when when you after
after you play, you rejuvenate andyou get the mind going, there's no
there's no fatigue. Uh. Andand then't really you know, there's a
little altitude, but I think gettingthere the day before, get some time

(26:51):
in that that that's not a factor. So no, I don't, I
don't, I don't. I don'tbelieve the fatigue is is an issue.
The it seems like the Russ hastaken a lot of incoming. Uh.
You shoot one for nine on yourthrees, and I think people just sort
of see the margin you lose by. They look at the box score,
and and he's obviously gonna be theguy that the finger gets pointed at.

(27:14):
The question that I wonder, James, is how much of this is specific
in your opinion, specifically by designby Michael Malone and his staff, Because
whoever d Russ is guarding, theyare running like Rip Hamilton. I mean,
he is just running through screens allover the place. D Russ is
not great at fighting through them, and it just seems like, speaking of
fatigue, he just may not haveit on the other end because he's busy

(27:37):
chasing dudes. It seems like onthe other end of the floor non stop.
And it was like Caldwell Pulp thatwhole game. Yeah. Offensively,
you know, he got some somegood looks. Yeah. Uh, you
know he couldn't knock him down. You know that's you know, you're gonna
have those knights and force it forhim. You know, he's under the

(27:57):
microscope defensively, Yeah, I meanlast year they targeted he him, you
know, he was a little weakerlast year. He's a little stronger this
year. I just think, andyou know, he needs to get more
more physical, even to the pointand maybe if he gives up a file,

(28:21):
you know, don't get you know, uh in a situation where you're
being handled physically, and also youhave to be careful when you help and
try to get back. You know, when when Yoki says that pick that
handoff, there's a lot of defensivereactions. You got to move off your
man for a couple of seconds andthen try to get back to him.

(28:42):
It's it's hard. You see howthey score. But my point is this,
when I look at a d andLebron and jo Kic and Murray,
you know, the total stats, you know, kind of measure up with
the exception of Lebron only to shootingtwo shots in the fourth quarter, and

(29:06):
the way Jokis gets his and Winniegets them reeves ruey D'Angelo. They have
to find a way. You cannotgo, you know that in efficient against
their their other three guys, uhGordon Porter and and uh Coel Pope.

(29:33):
You can't. You can't have thatkind of dispairity. I mean, and
then our bench, I don't believewe had any points from our base last
night. So how do you correctthat? You got to find a way
to involve guys early, especially Ruewho we used to isolate. He has
the size, the physicality. Gotto get him going. So I say,
if you some players are not goingto go get their own So I

(29:56):
think that's critical to a lot withDilo, who was critical, but also
our bench. You know, Princegave us a little bit, but we
got to get other guys going, compared and contrasting to what Denver's getting out
of theirs. James Worthy, there'snobody better. Have you seen James watching

(30:17):
the league over the last couple ofyears or this year? Anybody one or
two guys that do a better jobneutralizing Joe Kitsch? Is there anybody out
there that can Dwight Howard did it? Yeah, I think in twenty because
it takes youngis is an old schoolguy, you know, he's uh Paul

(30:38):
mckeeskey or one of those one ofthose guys, you know, one of
those old tough one of the littletough guys that just moved people around,
you know, Dan Issel, youknow, uh, one of those you
know, big guys that Dave Cowan'sa little taller, but just physical and
he moves people. He walks aroundwith his hands up, you know,

(31:00):
like he's being arrested. But whathe's doing with his body, he's just
moving people. He's just moving peoplearound, and then all of a sudden
he'll make a quick move or he'lldo something. He's got a two footer.
He's a genius. He's Kareem AbdulJabbar and Magic Johnson in one.
He doesn't miss that little jump hook, soft touch, he brings the ball

(31:22):
up the floor, fast break. He can make passes like nobody else.
And so that's what when I lookat him, I'm like, damn,
that's magic in Kareem all in theone. So you know, in order
to neutralize him, it's got tobe a pace and if the Lakers don't
have pace, they have a lotof pace in the first quarter, a

(31:44):
little bit in the second, butif you if you're going to walk it
up and not put him in apay situation and attack him, and the
only guy that can do it isAd. So that's that's that's how he's
never en filed troumble. It's justa tough matchup. Yeah, the and
I guess that brings us to youknow, we're you know, coming up

(32:05):
on tip here tonight in Game twofeels like it's uh, I don't want
to say must win, but itcertainly feels like you kind of need to
get this split so it doesn't continueto pile up on you. And it's
ten straight wins in a row forthe Nuggets over the Lakers. But you
mentioned ad, it just is thatis that the answer? Defensive leagues?
It seems like you put a don him and like you said, he's
just a genius. There there's toomany moving parts behind him, and it

(32:27):
seems like the Lakers defense can't keepup with without having Davis as the eraser?
Is it? Jackson Hayes? Like? What what do you do to
try to cut? It just doesn'tfeel like there's an answer. I mean
for this guy that he's got,He's got the answers to the questions on
the test and there's nothing you canthrow at him that he can't figure out.
Right now, Well, when youlook at the numbers, you know,

(32:49):
I think they both scored thirty thirtytwo points. Yeah, numbers add
up. But Yoki when he getshis numbers they're very critical and almost guaranteed.
Now, I mean, you know, you have to go at his
body. It takes a particular style, like Moses Malone with I would have

(33:14):
been great going up against Yokis. They would have been so nice to see
a player like that, or somebodylike James Donaldson, if you remember James
Donaldson from the Clippers, a bigsteven footer that would just throw his body
everywhere. It takes that because youknow, Yokis likes to play that way,
but nobody can compete with that, and not too many players play that

(33:35):
way. So you got to gethim up and down the court. Uh
Ad has the ability to go athis body, but then a lot of
his or you know, floaters, little jump hook sometimes not going at the
body. Uh So the answer isshutting down other guys. Porter hope,
hopefully Murry, you won't go off. Who's because Yoki's unfortunately he's responsible for

(34:00):
everybody else's points. The way theyrun the tensions, so they're well groomed.
Man. They've been together for along time. So the Lakers can't
make mistakes. They can't turn theball over when they got a twelve point
league, you know, take atime out, settle down. That's that's
when we come back in third quarter. We want a nine point lead,
something we can work with. Butwhen they gave them all that momentum in

(34:22):
that second quarter, I could imaginewhat the conversation was in the Denver Nuggets
lock the room. Hey, weyou know, here we go, we
got it. We just keep doingwhat we're doing. We can you know.
And then history repeated itself in thefourth quarter. Is that, Yeah,
it did, and I'll finish withWe'll finish with this, James is

(34:43):
did do you think just the wayLebron opted to play the fourth quarter was
sort of recognizing time and score andconserving yourself because it's in every other day
thing, knowing the you know thethe you know what it is playing in
Denver. Because the guy took oneshot and it was right when he came
off the be nine minutes. Thenhe never took another one, really was
not aggressive the rest of the quarter, and it was a double digit lead

(35:05):
for the Nuggets at that point. Now, I wouldn't want to think that,
I hope not. I know thatwhen we're not, when he's not,
you know, when it's not aone man fast break, a lot
of times he's running off of reboundswhen you've got a half courset and you're
kind of stagnant and there's not asmuch ball movement as it needs to be

(35:30):
in your eye sewing. And thenyou know when you try to go in
to a well prepared defensive team whoknows you very well, to've been watching
you for the last twenty one years. So that's when the deflections happened.
Unfortunately for Lebron, I think seventurnovers were his And so when you were

(35:53):
in the twenty five point thirty assists, when the ball is popping and moving,
you know your opportunities are better ifRuey hits a jumper, if rees
is if you're unpredictable. I takea lot of times when we iso ad
Lebron, there's a lot of standing, and that's when we run in trouble.

(36:15):
He never runs into trouble, notin the media, not anywhere.
The great James Worthy, a heroto the people. Have a great night
today, James. Thanks for adjustingyour schedule and we'll talk to you soon.
Go Dodgers, Go Dodgers this night, right, And not often you
get a late Paul Mulkesky pride ofCrespy reference here on the show. Good

(36:37):
stuff from sweeteet from James, thatwas sweet, but he was laying down
sweet to take a shot at Lebronon the way out right. Driven by

(38:52):
When we stayed at the surf Riderloved that place. A couple of hikes
to the light House, saw Whalessaid we were very lucky got the very
end of the whale watching season.I was actually out chatting with an older
guy when I was surfing one morningand there was a triple rainbow and he

(39:17):
looked at me. He is avery large Polynesian man that was wearing a
very large gold chain and sunglasses outin the way. He said, hey,
he's your lucky day. Triple rainbow. Should have taken a video on
that. It's like, yeah, dude, it's my lucky day. Went

(39:37):
hiking north Shore. Teddy's Burgers wasrecommended by a listener, so thank you.
I forget which one recommended that Idid have, and we did stop
at Teddy's to have a burger aswe grabbed the piece of the chocolate piet
Ted's on the way back. Don'tcare him confused Ted's for the mixed in

(40:00):
the chocolate pie Teddy's or the burger. The only weird thing about the trip
was for some reason, I don'tknow if I was just eating a lot
of crap, but the wife waslike, you need to eat protein.
Just eating all this like I don'tknow. I was like, am I
just eating like rice? And what? What? Are you just a little
bit like a few different occasions. She was like, I just feel like

(40:21):
you're just eating a lot of likechips and and fries. I can't be
on vacation like I don't know,I just I'm eating what's in front of
me. So what you had afried oyster po boy ride night? Yeah,
like the rice and the color chickenshrimp fried shrimp fried rice. But

(40:42):
it was a wonderful trip. Thankyou again for everyone pitching in and uh
hey, don't get used to it. Certainly appreciate the days we can take
vacation, so enjoyable time for thewife and I are first real vacation since
we took a couple of days.I think we took two days to Naple
for our twenty first one. Sincethen it was quite enjoying. Aloha,

(41:07):
Oh, Kates, I took atrip as well. Guys took a trip
off Olive to uh third Street toOrange Grove on Friday night and visit the
old Don Cuckoo. Tell him,Kates, tell them how wait there was
a forty five minute wait, andtell him how long you had to wait
in me much Senior team's been peoplefor two for team Senior Team. Oh

(41:34):
right here, everybody's looking at me, like, what the heck you just
walked in here, dude. I'mlike, hey, that's a swinging d
Bank goes to the front of theline. Eight Sports Talk happened to be
the bar area, so it's notlike we were taking a tabletop or we
were whatever. I bet people wouldcrawl on their stomachs for that bar top
table like Bullet with butterfly wings.Videos right mar were flowing. The chips

(41:58):
and salsa were fantastic. Come on, he needs Hawaii exactly right. Thanks
for telling me. Now, Kate'sgonna saved me thousands of dollars. Brother.
I got to hang out with HectorActor and that was a fantastic time.
And uh yeah, Saturday, Saturday, I was here for seven hours,
guys, fantastical mad surfing Hawaii.I was surfing with Colin Yee through

(42:21):
packs of baseball cards because I wentover and bought a box of baseball cards
at Burbank Sports Cards. Break themup? What year? Break them up?
Twenty twenty three, Bowman Chrome, and then I bought about six packs
at twenty twenty four to break themlive on YouTube. I wish when the
game was going on, and likeevery couple of minutes, it's like,
well, we're let's go to thethird. It's a two to nothing.
No no no, So uh didthat and then did Dodger talk. We're

(42:42):
here for seven hours being calling. You got Dino's pizza, Little Lasagna,
pizza broke dead together. Nothing likebreaking bread with Colin Yee and also breaking
cards. That's fantastic. Let's breakbread, break bread. Sunday it was
back at it again for the pregameshow, and then Sunday night, I
helped my wife, who was gettingready for a big school GALLA function,
put together some stuff for their auctiontables, and that included some tables that

(43:04):
they bought online and they did notinclude all the screws and nuts. Surprised,
so I had to go to Low'sand buy them and then spray painted
on blacks the other match. SoI feel pretty good about myself. I'm
not somebody knows how to fix things. I usually ask for help. I'm
an idiot. But this case,I went to Low's and I walked right
in found I needed to find becauseyou asked for help or did it all

(43:27):
yourself? Myself? Look at itlike a man. I'm over forty and
you got a can of spray paintto get at the match. Yeah,
I got the Matt black spray paintfor eight bucks, went and spread it
out back on some cardboard bank bank. You also a massage some of the
bidding for your wife's gallat two.No, no, no, I've I
made a couple of bids. Theyopened the s some massage, the massaging,
well, things that I wanted, and all of a sudden, like

(43:49):
now I'm an outbid for him.And now I have the debate of whether
or not I keep going higher andhigh I get the price you want to
bid, you want to outbid me. Watch this, I'm gonna drive it
up next thing. You know, you're stuck with the golf club membership.
It's like, I don't want todo that, but it's that happened around
here. Somebody to know changed mylife. Believe me, I tell that
story all the time. They're like, you know, I got off bid
for this, Like you know whatI could know a guy, it's a
golf club membership. It's really Southfor him, but you know, State

(44:12):
school for you, sweetheart. Sorry, I belonged to a country club.
Let's go. I'll be the pronounshot Ronnie I was your weekend. Guy's
had a nice weekend, you know. I made a trip to on Friday
night as my wife and I attendedthe Dodger game at Dodger Stadium versus the
Mets, first time seeing Yoshi NobuYamamoto on the mound. Unfortunately, it
was an a losing effort, butwe still had fun. Nevertheless, nothing

(44:36):
beats a Friday night at Dodger Stadiumexcept for one thing went I was a
drone show. Did not stay forthe drone show. Tim we left before
the drone show. Didn't care. You don't have to be mad at him,
though, Ronnie like, that's thething, Like, you don't have
to be mad. Who says I'mmad? I felt like it was.
I felt like, no, nodrone show either here. As I continue,

(44:57):
I mean, if it were thefireworks show, we probably would have
stacked that Saturday, it was mybirthday, so my wife and I yes,
indeed on the calendar. Yeah,so my wife and I got up
early and went to Denny's for thatbreakfast where I did take advantage of that
free birthday breakfast. Slam there. It's not what he used to be,
but I did kind of add alittle bit of extras, kinda kick it

(45:17):
up a notch. Wait, doyou get to pick your own breakfast or
is it a Grand Slam only forfree? It's a Grand Slam only.
But you can you know, youcan add stuff like bacon instead of you
can add you can add things hereand there. So I did add a
few extras, and we did goto Porthos to pick up a cake for
truly no some meat pies along withsome guy wish meat pies, along with

(45:40):
some guava and cheese pastries from Portos. My sons and their girlfriends were over
and my wife ordered some chicken andlulika bob with some sadziki salad and some
lavash, and so we did thatup. And Saturday night we went to
the top golf and El Segundo.Yeah, yeah, you know, my
wife pulled out all the stops. They had a bay reserved for me and

(46:04):
we had a great time hitting golfballs all over the goddamn place. It
was great. Oh, sorry aboutthat. Sunday I was home all day
long watching all the NBA playoff games, recovering and drinking Willdelo especial. That
was my weekend. Petro So Ihope you had a great weekend too.
I never have a great anything, but hey, yeah you do. Friday,
I drove around and took the kidsto their things. And then Saturday

(46:29):
a minute, you drove around andtook the kids to their things. Uh
huh. And that included what wellI had to pick I had to pick
my daughter up from our theater thingwhatever, Okay, I just wait outside
the theater. Then she comes out. Send her a text, I'm here.
No, they just come out.And and I had to pick Fletcher
up from his friend's house. Okay, put his bike in the back.

(46:51):
Do you go in, go upto the door, have a drink with
dad? No. But the nextmorning on Saturday, I went to yoga
and then we had baseball. No, Matt, it's been a while since
I leave me alone. And thenuh, after my son's baseball game,
I was invited to dinner at myfriend's son's my son's friend's house, his

(47:16):
friend Oliver. You close with thiscouple, I know them. Have you
ever been invited to dinner before?Yes, but this first time I've ever
came, and my son was verynervous. He's like, they don't swear,
and you swear a lot, andyou can't swear a lot. You
can't swear in front of these people. And I was like, what do

(47:37):
you think you're old man, youcan't handle himself. You do cusp.
But I put on my jeans jacketand that gives me a certain kind of
attitude, like I'm one of theoutsiders. So but I and we did
drink, uh you know, well, he brought a bottle of tequila.

(47:59):
We were just drinking beer. Andthen he was like, oh, I'm
a devil for this tequila. Andhe started he's and he started, uh,
just hammering tequila's shots. Yeah,a dram he said, would you
like a drama tequila? I said, well, I'm gonna let you drink
alone there, Ben, and uh, And I was fine, patron or
something that I was fine, andyou know, I was like, yeah,

(48:21):
you better drive me home. AndI was like, they're like,
have you take your shoes off attheir house? Trying to put my shoes
back on, like hopping on onefoot. Not great. Oh see,
you've been drinking it. And thenSunday, embarrassed that his old man got
sauce. I think he did saysomething like why couldn't he put on a
shoes mom, because the guy broughtout a bottle of tequila. Was uh

(48:45):
was Ali Hecklin Fletcher like, yeah, mal Mon, Yeah, my dad's
got a wooden legs. Been drinkingyour dad? My wife, I said,
was I drunk last night? Shesaid no, the shoe thing was.

(49:07):
And then Sunday I drove around thechildren again after yoga. Of course,
tug over yoga. Sure, that'skind of yoga, and uh,
get us, what is that hotyoga? Nos? Hungover? There was?
And I drove the children around somemowthere are ingrates. I typically are
around that age. Take me here, pick me up there? Where's my

(49:29):
food? I showed up to pickup my kid and he's with two other
kids and they're like getting reprimanded bythe cops. They're like, these guys
are throwing pine cones around. Iwas like, that's all you got.
I throw a rock Yeah, pinecones. Get over to the hobby store
by some of those little sties rocketsstart firing those things off at cars.
You think they called me a smokepulse pull smoker on a I just because

(49:50):
I throw pine cones around. Pinecones. So yeah, what a week
at Pine cones like an endangered species, a plant in the parts or something.
Somebody showd you my damaged their property. Throw those pine clones around.
It's like, really, guys, get in the car to me a favor.
Here's a lighter. Light the damnpine cones on fire before you throw
them. Next time it's a woodedarea, we'll be back with more great

(50:15):
sports talk. Let's roll the dice. Is that Raymond Green? Great sports
talk? I think that's our oldfriend Chris Haynes.
