Boo, we arned.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
We got first pitch from the gallpin Ford Broadcast booth
coming up just after five pm. Yam a mooto on
the mound? Who Yamamoto on the mound? Who's on the
call for h Do we know who's on the call?
Is it? Uh? I'm just trying to figure out how
I should do it here.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Matt, all right, I'll just go Yama Moto. That's what
I read.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I don't know. I don't know if it's a never
At Nelson or a Joe Davis Nelson, or what's happening,
or if anybody is doing anything. I have no idea
Charlie Steiner's doing the first three innings in Houston. I
don't know. That's not what I read.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
The combinations.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I don't like starting out the show with a question
that I cannot answer.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yellomo, you're the one that corrected me. I said Yamamoto,
and you said what And then I had to say, well,
I got to figure out what day is it.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Well, let's be honest, man, whether it's television or radio,
you're going to be here in Yamamoto fairpoint. There's not
going to be no Yamamoto.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
No, and Hotani will be leading now and then designated
better spot. You're right, that is a guarantee. It's just
a question as to whether or not Tim Neffett's on
the call.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Thank you for admitting I'm right. I'm right, and I'm hopeful.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Hopeful music at noon, hopeful music at new.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I don't even know what I'm right about. The Dodgers'
bats are Gonzalo share. They did okay yesterday, but what
about the It is sad it is threesday to watch
the Dodgers the way they are right now. I wish
somebody better turn out the big light because I can't
stand to see you this way. Consado bats Otani with
(02:44):
a flaccid bat.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Excuse me, hell of an accusation.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Flimsy noodle bat. It's not okay. And I'm sure everybody
we had a nice weekend, you know. I know, Ronnie,
how launch.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
We want to launch this thing?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
I have it?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Are we going to press the button?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
I have an idea. Well, I don't think we should
press the button even though they lost the series. Well,
you know what, maybe we should take a vote on that.
We are the Panic Brothers. But we are collective here
and we should probably take a vote on the Panic Brothers.
I mean, we are often chided by our guests in
(03:34):
the very next segment, David Vassay for checking out quote
unquote check it out during the weekend and checking back
in on Monday and not really paying much attention to
what's going on when we are not on the air.
I've been accused of that, I know from David Vassy
(03:55):
and rightfully so, rightfully so, but they did win the
last game.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Even though they they don't win the last game, then yes,
the buttons against the Marlins and Cardinals press the button,
but they think of Matt and I and as two
guys in jumpsuits matching, like we work at the nuclear
facility jumpsuits and one of us is there to check
the other because the button's there. Yeah, like Saturday, I
(04:25):
might have reached for the button and Matt grabbed my
wrist like before key yet you turned your key.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
We both have a side arm and a key and
and and it's a distance apart to where one guy
can't do both right, So we I don't know, like,
but but I think it would have happened last week
in San Francisco after they lost too. We would have
hit the button. We would have hit the button right there,
and they won the last one and salvaged the game,
(04:55):
and we we backed off the button. But what good
did it do us? Because look what happened, Look what
happened in Saint.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Louis, And I mean the Padres are cooperating where they're
also stumbling over their own deep.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Everybody in the conference so and I mean Division conference division, whatever,
everybody in the Mountain West. You know what I'm saying, man,
So let's take a vote. Kates Kate's was there all
weekend doing Dodgers on deck.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
I'm gonna say, no panic, because we all know they've
been under the weather. Collectively as a group, You're gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
You're gonna blame the sickness that they got. Yeah, they
all got a damp because of the dampness in Colorado.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Yeah, the Colorado weather from the snow to the sun
to the everything in between. Really maltitude, it'll really just yeah,
they all got six max months.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
He was shivering.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
Freddie Freeman told Dave Roberts on Saturday, I'll go as
long as I can because he's still suffering from the
lingering whatever virus is going through that Dodger clubhouse.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
We all know about everybody two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Aren't consalo The bats are ouscos sick.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
Oh, the players are sick. Thus the bats of off.
So yeah, I don't know if that's why shoey Otani's
oh for fourteen with one extra base hit in the
last week, but a lot of walks and to it
by pitches. But something's going on. I think I think
it's the virus. So I'm gonna say, let's not panic yet, guys,
what about you, Ronnie.
Speaker 8 (06:15):
I see absolutely no panic early May. Dodgers have a
lot of time to turn things around. No, seriously, the
virus virus, Yeah, you know they are getting over a virus,
and we all know how viruses can travel. Here, one
of us gets sick and the whole station gets sick,
so you know, it's sort of like, you know, one
gets it and the other one gets it. So I'm
(06:37):
not worried at all. The Dodgers are still in first
place the nationally.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
The sickness is inability to swing a bat and hit
a ball, which is not easy in the first place,
and yet you get some sort of sickness attached to you,
and now that has become incredibly contagious in this lineup,
unless you're one of the guys that's not even supposed
to be here, like Hey Son Kim, Hey Hey, I
(07:01):
thought you started out that one in there.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
You started out the season saying it's an affront to
the whole country that one in there of South Korea,
that Hey Song Kim, Hey Song Kim was not on
the was not on the original rock.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
It's not even supposed to be here, and now he's
their most consistent hitter.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
He's been the other sick, Matt. Some guys have been
under the weather sick. He's been like sick.
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Well, you know what, Matt, your diplomacy, your diplomacy is
really paid off, right. And because the Dodgers didn't want
to bite their thumb at Korea, they now have a
very consistent Korean hitter.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
In that song, Kim, that's Kim.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
It's about that on Meach a lot of Monday on
the Peterson Money Show. It's not about the Mexicans, it's
not about the African or white man. It's about a
great logger. It does happen to be Mexican that was
(08:09):
not for sale in a cam S MODELO negadep on
the Gulf side of Mexico in the seven. According to
some sportscasters that.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
We all have different memories, you know are accurate.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Some on what is accurate is the mark of a
fighter MODELO hashtag MODELO USA. Please drink responsible glass or
lac on a model. So I guess we're all a
collective here. There there will be old old.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Now if they're top three pitchers, you know, poop the
bed again and Yamamoto and Otani and Glass now get
out of Houston, which I believe is still a last
place team. They're kind of messing around with the the
Angels as well. I'm not sure where the Astros are
not in last place. It is the Angels as a
matter of fact. Now, but they fourteen and twenty one
(09:18):
team if they get the better of the top three pitchers,
all of whom have their sights set on a cy
Young which is and I think it's Safety Otani, Otani
and Glass.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Now, so you're saying the Dodgers, the Dodgers better get
a fire in their colo.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
They better better win to a three here or the
Panic Brothers.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
May Yeah, anything anything other than.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Two out in a series. Win.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, there will be Panic Brothers every day, Like right,
what we get on the air.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
They are a second worst in the AL minus twenty
three run differential.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Let this be a warning. There will be Panic Brothers
if they too. If they lose today, we might hit
the button tomorrow though, depending on how they lose. Don't
do it yet.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yeah, if the offense is non existent yet again, if
they put up a zero or a one, then maybe
it would be cause for panic, because that is clearly
what has plagued them. They have lost games in which
their opponent has scored three or two or three or
two repeatedly, and that has affected their record. And maybe
(10:36):
Bill Plaski was right, and maybe that's what this all
really boils down to.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
We're gonna find out, and we're gonna find out in
Texas tonight. Now, I'd like to tell you a little
something about the Houston Astros and what they like to
do musically. In the seventh inning, Matt, they play a
rendition of Deep in the Heart of Texas, which is
not their song, although they are in Texas. But they
do the Mo Bandi version of Deep in the Heart
of Texas. Okay, And that's what they do in the
(11:01):
seventh inning.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
I would imagine that gets the people excited.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
It's what they've long done.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Actions very proud of Texas at.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
The They love Texas. Yes, hey, that Hooters needs to
be four stories.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
But why more Texas flags flying around the lone Star
state than American flags? They like that flag. They like
the in Texans.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
The stars at nine are big and bright, deep in
the heart of texts, but that is not their song, Matt.
Their song is the classic Houston Astros fight song, Go
Go Astros, also called the Astros theme song, which was
written and recorded by Mackay's in nineteen eighty, very popular
(11:45):
and is still referenced in the leagues today. This is
not the seventh inning stretch, and this is not the
more modern Paul Wall how about them Stros version for
the Syrups being Houstonians of the twenty first century, are
you ready for go go Astros? Man?
Speaker 5 (12:07):
I'm ready, Gods, part the cord.
Speaker 9 (12:19):
You come to Astros, burning with desires. Here come the Astros,
green and orange.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Here come the.
Speaker 9 (12:28):
Astros with winning off the bat. You come the Astros
from boat woman front.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Time, everything.
Speaker 9 (12:50):
Way down sound the Houston Baseball's come on, Luion the auto.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
It's splashing orange and bodies.
Speaker 9 (12:58):
Stealing around the bay, says, and then then the runs
no place else w used.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
To Astros Wall.
Speaker 9 (13:13):
It come the Astros burning with desire. It come the
Astros breathing orange fire. He'll come the Astros with winning
off their minds.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
He'll come the Astros bow one at the.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Time as.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
There come Wow, still.
Speaker 9 (13:46):
Burning with desires, orange fire, Astros breathing ards. It come
the Astros with winning off the minds. Here come the
Astros bow one at red time.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
It's kind of nice, you know, a wholly on it feel.
With the harms of Court.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
There's very main street electrical parade vibe.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
There's all right. I mean, I think that's pretty good though.
I think that's right up there with Brewers Fever nineteen eighty.
That's right in our wheelhouse, right there, go go Astros.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
A little bit of an old timey vibe.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, I mean, I know there's a lot of bad
blood because of the trash can banging and the and
the world that you're eating, Yes, the cheating the world series.
You know, all those guys got immunity. Okay, you're not
allowed to say anything.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Oh that's great way to go.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah, I know there's a lot of bad blood. And
Rich Hill's in the dugouts screaming while you Darvish gives
it all up and games. I mean, you know there's
a lot of bad blood. Yeah, and a lot of weird,
a lot of bad memories. Go go Astros, I would say,
is near the top.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Well, it's better than Scott's staff, that's for sure, because
god damn song all weekend.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Well, it is a great song in that it's an earworm.
It's fun to sing, It's fun to say things about baseball, strike, strike,
swinging away, gotta protect after two strikes? We want bass hits,
double plays.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
Double play, Oh God.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
You did that, Matt, Come on, you spoke it, Matt.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Since leaving the Dodgers, they have lost two of three.
So I losor.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
I love.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
I find that song to be an unfortunate discovery.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
It's a great song, and the astro song is great too.
Now I don't see guys in Houston with big, silvery
teeth and sipping codeine out of a foam cup.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
I do like the idea.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
I don't think they're singing this. This is more of
like a Nolan Ryan eraon.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
White guys and wranglers with big belt buckles and their
thumbs just inside their waistband kind of kicking their legs
side to side with a duck footed style.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Like Travolta and Urban Cowboy. Yeah, this is their song.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
Like tight jeans, tight jeans, big belt buckle, thumbs in
the waistbands. Don't have to worry about what to do
with your your arms when you're dancing. You're just kicking
those legs.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah, and real hip pumping for sex.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Yeah, it's like a Russian circus style of lake kicking.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Well, I mean it's it's Lake Texas way down sound.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
You know.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Back when they were the cult forty fives down there
in Houston, they had a different song back in the
early sixties.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Here's how I went, shoot.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Fire away. That's the way, the part, the way, right.
Speaker 10 (17:38):
Way, all the way.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
This is the part why you're twirling your six shooters
on your fingers.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Winsor farm where you shoot in the sky the copal. Yeah,
not enough gun culture or references in the Houston Colts,
especially that one didn't survive. Shoot him down, Houston Colts,
(18:23):
Blast away, Houston Colts.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Well, they told me to shoot him down.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I just I just took it literally, empty the banana
clip Houston Colts Magazine, don't Houston Colts. Yeah, Houston Colts.
All right, Well, enjoy the game tonight. We'll get you there, David.
We'll join us next and tell us what's wrong with
the bats and why they're so Gonsabo. Maybe he'll make
the Tim Kates excuse they don't feel well, and then
(18:51):
Tim Kates when Ronnie was giving good analysis, Tim Kates
is like in They're sick, and they're sick.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Freddy Freeman has the chills.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Yeah, don't you let he said he could go as
long as he can. Max Munsey was shivering. Don't you
let Kate's influence you like that?
Speaker 4 (19:11):
I blame Stap. It's not step Throat. It's step Throat.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
It's not STAB's fault that he's so inspirational and cheesy.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Listen, when you step into that batter's box, you have
to have one hundred percent focus on the task at hand.
Had reading that arm angle, What are the seams doing
in that half a second before it reaches the plate?
And you got these guys singing Stap song in their head.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
I don't think they're listening to the show, Matt, but
it could be a virus in their head, which I
guess is what Kate's is saying now. If they're listening
to Stab, I would think that the Dodgers are on
the right path. Strat Stab is the right path. We'll
(20:00):
be back with David Vasse after our current Dodger opponents
musical interlude.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
This is Petros and Money on Demand Demand.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Another two to four show tomorrow, Dodgers with a three
game series in Houston starting tonight. Y'am a motto on
the mound, and that brings us to this man.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
The one and only, David Vassa. The Dodgers are in trouble.
Their sadness in the air and sickness in the air. Apparently,
are we overreacting? It's possible.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Never with an inside look at the Dodgers. This is
the vass Report with David vassevass.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Has been talking about the team being sick for a
couple of weeks already, and he's joining us now on
your Southern California Tota Dealers Celebrity Hotline, Spectrum Sportsnet and
MLB Network right here on M five seventy. Everybody knows,
David Vassa. What's cracking, Dave, what's going on? Why? Why
are the Dodgers so sick and consado?
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, you know that sickness that I guess Fred and
Rodney just heard about. Despite Rodney's son working in the clubhouse.
That means that's unbelievable. Anyway, It's been going on since
the Dodgers were in Toronto, and it's just spread throughout
(21:42):
the clubhouse over the last two and a half weeks
and you know, next months. He said this after the
game yesterday, that they haven't had the same kind of
vibrancy fun around the clubhouse, around the team because everybody's
so dog sick, And you know what, he's right. I thought,
you know, at the end of the last homestand it
(22:04):
wasn't that fun to be around these guys because they
were sick. I mean, I couldn't really talk my trash
to those guys and get a reaction. They would just
look at me and cough up along, and it just
wasn't fun. They weren't fun to be around. So look,
I'm not going to say that's the reason why they
haven't hit a home run in the last six games.
(22:26):
If you're out there, you're good enough to play, you're
good enough to perform. But it is something that has
made the team a little lethargic over the last two
and a half weeks. And remember this was during a
period of time when they were playing thirteen straight games.
So you got mid thirty guys sick and playing thirteen
in a row. It's not a combination to get the
(22:48):
best out of a group of players.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Did did last year kind of ease your I don't know,
concerns about things like this, Dave. They won the World Series,
and I remember that that seven game or eight game
losing streak in July. I felt like they had a
handful of losing streaks, fives and fours and things like that,
and they still went on to get healthy in time
and win the World Series. Do you think kind of
(23:11):
going through that lessons the idea of there being some
sort of.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Panic, Well, there's no panic outside of three to seven
on a five to seventy LA S four.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
That's right, that's right, Dave, and it.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
We haven't put the panic.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Yeah, the only people that are talking panic are the
panic bros from three to seven. Uh No, there is
no panic. And everybody, especially the last two years, has
a great understanding on how to navigate one hundred and
sixty two games. And look the Cardinals beating the Dodgers
two out of three, the Marlins coming to Dodgers Stadium
(23:50):
beating them two out of three. It was a perfect storm.
But also an example again of how these lesser teams
get up for the Dodgers, and the Dodgers are not
trying to get up World Series type like these two
teams have. But it's something to be aware of the
fact that they've had a lot of players in a
(24:10):
slump and like it or not, whether or not this
is fair to show Heyo Tani or not, the reality
is he's their leadoff hitter, and everybody knows in baseball,
every offense feeds off their leadoff hitter, especially a guy
that hit fifty home runs the last two years. And
he hasn't looked anything close to show Heyotani. And until
(24:34):
he gets going, this offense is not going to hit
its peak level. And Kyle Tucker hasn't really done much
of anything either, and he got Freddie Freeman, who's just
hitting singles these days. So there's not a lot of
power coming from many places in this lineup right now.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Oh Tani taking VP on the field today, That's about
what he does when things get really bad. I guess,
is our.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Experience, Yes, that's when he's hitting the panic button. He's
going out there and taking batting practice.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Look, so we're like.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I guess, yeah, it's it's a fact of this season
that his focus is very much towards the pitching side.
He's made it very clear he's trying to go for
the Cy Young Award, and this may be his last
opportunity to even be considered for the Cy Young Award,
and maybe it's taken some attention away from the hitting.
(25:33):
Maybe the recovery bounced back has taken something out of
his legs. But it does make sense to go out there.
Rick Monday said this a few times, and No Mar
has told me the same. It's good to go out there,
especially when you're going to a stadium that you haven't
been in for a couple of years, like the Dodgers
being in Houston. It's good to see the batter's eye.
(25:54):
It's good to see the way the ball travels, and
not just stay inside until your first at bats. Of
those reasons I believe contributed to Otani wanting to come
out and take batting practice at Minimate Park or whatever
it's called.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Now, well, if he's gonna win the Cy Young, he's
gonna have to beat out his own teammate, justin freaking Robleski,
who should be leading all cy Young vote getters right now, Dave,
when Blake Snelli is healthy pat of the Month right,
Otani won Picture of the Month and the Robleski's the guy.
Can they boot this guy out of I mean obviously
they can. Do you think they're gonna boot him out
(26:28):
of the rotation? What kind of promises if they made Sasaki?
I mean I saw you post it, like last time
you had six innings a shutout ball with no strikeouts
was like forty years ago.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Yeah, Mike Morgan nineteen ninety one, number thirty six in
your programs and also one of Fernando Valenzuela's favorite teammates.
He used to tell me. But yeah, I mean, it's
it's gonna be really hard to sell the Dodgers taking
Robleski out of this rotation and putting them back into
(27:01):
the bullpen. If you look at these three guys, Emmit Shean,
Roki Sasaki, and Dustin Robleski. Robleski's out pitched both those guys,
and quite honestly, if you had to make a decision
between Roki and Emit Sheen, you would say that Roki
the last two times out has been right on par
with Emmit Sheen, who's been very inconsistent. So I don't know,
(27:25):
it's a tough sell to tell me that you're taking
Robleski out of this rotation.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
When does Snell come back, Dave.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Well, he just pitched yesterday for Oklahoma City. He's going
to make another start, which will take it to probably
Friday or Saturday. So he likely is going to make
his twenty six debut either at the end of the
next home stand against the Giants or when the Dodgers
head out on this road trip that begins in Anaheim.
(27:55):
He would be pitching at Anaheim if all things are
equal as far as days of breast.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
I know, I know that didn't come with wins, but
certainly not nice to see the way the Marlin series
ended for Freddy Freeman. They walk Otani ahead of him
and he grounds into a double play. But getting we're
going back to that, huh, Well, no, I'm just gonna say.
I'm saying the fact that he got multiple hits in
the next two of the next three games in Saint Louis,
(28:21):
do you think that's encouraging that maybe whatever this funk
that he's been in to start the season, that he's
starting to snap out of it.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
He had he had that that flew like whatever going
around as well. And look, he's thirty six going on
thirty seven, thirteen in a row, even though he missed
a couple of days for the welcoming of their brand
new daughter. It still takes a toll on him, and
he's not showing a lot of power right now, a
lot of singles up the middle. He's going to get
(28:50):
his hits, but whether or not the power is going
to be there still remains to be seen. And look,
we talked about Dalton Rushing a lot, the second most
home runs on this team to Max Munsey, and he
has half of the at bets and opportunities, but there's
only two places for him to play. That's catcher and
first base, and those two guys right now are very entrenched.
(29:14):
So I think Freddy it's crazy because Freddy's on his
way to the Hall of Fame, but I know he
feels that he's got to perform to try to earn
another contract from the Dodgers. And I'm sure he sees
what Dalton Rushing's doing and he feels like he has
to perform to keep his job.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
You know, that sounds a little bit Dave, like Freddy
needs to hit more doubles.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
But if you could maybe go for more doubles, you know,
use both your speed and your power, maybe shot the
ball around a little bit.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
But yeah, that'd be a great idea. I wish I
could hit a double every time for that though.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Hit a double every time, it'll make me emotional and
bring back Jock Peterson in my head.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Yeah, what a guy, What a great guy, What a
great guy. David Vessey is man, he's got it all.
I'll figured out when it comes to the Dodgers Morano Casino,
Dodgers on Deck, Dave will be part of it, of course,
starts at four o'clock and the Dodgers taking on the
Houston Astros tonight. As they sputter here in May. Did
(30:16):
you hear about Schoobl's loose bodies?
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Dave?
Speaker 2 (30:20):
I did.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
And another pitcher that pitched in the World Baseball Classic
that all of a sudden has elbows?
Speaker 4 (30:28):
Wow? Man, oh wow on him?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Dave spin that WBC.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Another casualty of the fake Tournament.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
I mean, I know it through once.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
He didn't even show up for his second start.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
And look what it did to him. Yeah, it's only May,
it's only May, Dave. But that changes the market a lot,
doesn't it.
Speaker 10 (30:51):
It does.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
If the Tigers were even considering trading Schoobl, they've lost
their greatest and Baseball's greatest trade ship. In Jill even
though they're right there with the Guardians again at the
top of the central in the American League. And also
the Twins have shut down Joe Ryan, who is probably
the second most appealing starting pitcher if the Twins were
(31:14):
out of it. Now you know the Tigers, excuse me,
the Rangers are probably the team with the most attractive
starting pitcher at the trade deadline, and that is two
times Cy Younger would winner Jacob de Grom if for
some reason the Rangers are out of it. De Grom
maybe the prize trade chip of the deadline this year.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
The one player we haven't talked about, Dave that is
somewhat well, I guess in relation to the rest of
the lineup, at least hitting the ball a little bit.
Is Hessan Kim just kind of is he settling in
thoughts on how he's playing, considering we've said it's really
just a contest every time he gets in there with
these other two dudes, and whether or not he's going
to be able to stick around when guys start getting healthy, to.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Learn the strike zone more. He doesn't really know the
strike zone that well, but he does get hits, and look,
it's it's a mixed bag of which direction the Dodgers
want to go in when that decision needs to be
made at the end of May. Keith k told you
he's ready to come back at the end of May
twenty third or twenty fourth, I think he told you so.
(32:22):
At that point is when somebody will we'll have to
go to the miners, and maybe even if Mookie Betts
is ready to go in the next week or so,
that decision will be moved up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
When it comes to Scoobl to the Dodgers, I guess, Dave,
we'll always have Orlando. But here's the deal. Here's what
I'm hearing right now. Freezer is trying to work a deal.
He get a major trade for trek Schooler.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Hang alre keep those receipts?
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Well, didn't we just.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
Yeah, we got it right there.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
We DoD it. Man, did we just wave it in
your face?
Speaker 4 (32:58):
We ping that thing.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
The only show that keeps the receipts. I love it.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Yeah, that's us except our own. Well, they must be
deep deep, they must be bare deep deep.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Will hear about Schoobl's the surgery in a couple of
weeks from now, and you know, really break it down.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Don't say Rogan and Roddy own time slot too. Oh god, damn, we.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Don't check out over the weekend, Dave not us.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Oh yeah, the Beach Life guy.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Beach Life was incredible. I feel incredible. Thank you, Dave,
and we'll talk to you tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
This was exhilarating. May the fourth be with you.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Same to you, Dave, Dork. Come on, Matt, don't you
want to ride a ton Ton today?
Speaker 4 (34:00):
I want to get in an ad at. I want
to get my snow speeder and chipping out.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Ton Ton across hath to the ad At.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
In case anybody is asking, I rank it this way.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
And or one.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Mandalorian two, Empire strikes back, three Rebel one forced one four.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
I got Empire number one. We'll be back with how
was your weekend?
Speaker 1 (34:37):

what he's saying. Want final to find out what was
happening This weekend's away from that.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Dodgers on Deck starts at four. Dave's got something going
on on Thursday and the off day, doesn't he case.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Details at am FI seventy, LA Sports dot Com, at
all the MFI seventy social media platforms.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
That's this Thursday.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Well, Dave's got his work cut out for him. I
hope nobody gets sick. That's I think everybody's over it
at this point. All Right, it is time, because it
is Monday. I'm gonna do what I do. The weekend
is mine. So how was your weekend, Matt.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Yeah. Weekend started Friday night with my pals, Dave and
Greg went to see forty Years of f and Around
the No Effects documentary at the Bay Theater here in
Seal Beach sold out little post doc Q and A
hosted by the vandals Joe Escalante and No Effects former
members l Hafe and Smelly, And my takeaway is, yeah,
(36:35):
it must have been a real nightmare having to deal
with that guy for forty years fat mic a cokehead,
a drunk, an egomaniac, and pretty much it was two
hours of watching him blow cooke and drink vodka and
be a real piece of crap.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
We have been a heck of an afterparty.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Yes, the post show Q and A was was perfectly
navigated by the great Joe Escalante, but yeah, I just
felt like, well, there was one question I would ask
good be while real nightmare to be around a yakhead
who's who's either yack they're drunk? Huh? But yeah, So
if you're into that, go see the go see the doc.
(37:12):
Saturday morning, surfed Kentucky Derby with Tommy. We got absolutely destroyed,
lost everything, the Kentucky Oats, double, the Pick three, the
Daily double, the race itself, everything just a mess. And
then I had some friends over and did a little
(37:33):
walk around town at dinner at tyon Maine. Sunday, surfed
a little bit later than usual, and rode the bikes
with the wife. Watched the Boston Legacy FC versus Denver
Summit professional soccer game with the Good Doctor. His daughter
Annie is on Boston Legacy. They got their first ever
franchise win. Uh so that was pretty fun to watch.
(37:55):
And yeah, that was That was the weekend.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
All right, Well that's I mean, I just I didn't
know about Fat Mica. I find his great guy.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
Hey, great guy. If you like guys, yeah, I like.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Okay, I happened to like coaching, drinking and being chaotic.
I mean, Kate's what about you there, Kate's I.
Speaker 7 (38:16):
Had a great weekend. It was my wife's birthday on Friday.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
So when I got done with the pregame show for Dodgers,
I got done a little earlier than everybody else. They
were at a boys lacrosse game until about six o'clock,
so I had some time to kill so I figured
why not just go to the bar? Don Cuco's a
couple of beers later some chips and saucer. Later everybody
else joined me for dinner. Had a great dinner and
goes shout out to everybody there at the Coup. Saturday nights,
(38:41):
went to dinner at Damon's in Glendale again. That's twice
in two months now after it only been there once
in my life. Now gone back to back months to Damon.
So we're starting to make this a regular on our
Saturday night spots Sunday Dodger pre and Post. So I
was here at the station hanging out to what with
Zach and Colin. He joined us after he landed from
the Las Vegas after a weekend of debauchery and hanging
(39:02):
out and talking boxing all weekend. So got to catch
up with Colin. Ye and uh yeah that was about it.
Just went to bed early last night. Uh, pretty low
key weekend for my wife's birthday weekends.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
Did you figure out what was going on when I'm
squad cars and the broken glass?
Speaker 7 (39:15):
I did find out.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
Hector told me there was a couple of gentlemen who
were sitting outside and there was heaters outside. They have
this this glass kind of tubing that you know, the
flames can go up in right and one of them
stumbled back and probably the drunken stupor and knocked it
over while the gas was still on. So there was
a worry that, you know, how do we shut off
the gas and they needed to call the police to
(39:36):
handle it.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
So okay, yeah, mister team, don't you remember it was you?
You you through your schooner at the mirror.
Speaker 6 (39:47):
I did feel pretty cool going to the bar, just
hanging out there by myself, like watching Dodger games to
Flacco when he got traded to Ernie until moas we're
at the and we were talking about what do you think,
mister team, do you think they can beat the They
can think they could beat the car this weekend.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
I'm like the Cardinal.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
I think they could do it. I don't know if
they will.
Speaker 7 (40:04):
Another Medela.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Please thank you.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
It is a Modello meet you a lot of Monday.
Speaker 8 (40:08):
Ronnie had a nice weekend, gentlemen, Thank you very much.
Friday evening, Julian and his wife Sydney brought the twins
over for the first time, so we were very happy
and excited to see the brand new baby. So we
ordered some food and watched the Lakers and spent the
evening hours with the small children. It was a wonderful,
wonderful night. Saturday, I ran some local errands around town
(40:29):
and my wife and I got caught up in the
whole Kentucky Derby Marathon TV broadcast with the preliminary races
and all the backstories and of course the fashion leading
up to the most exciting two minutes of all sports
is long shot Golden Tempo kicked the bucket across the
finish line to win the Kentucky Derby. So Saturday even
(40:51):
that was exciting to see. Saturday evening, we were invited
by my cousin Eric.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
To a sorry exciting to see for some not when
you're losing thousands of dollars, well.
Speaker 8 (41:00):
Matt, when you're a degenerate gambler, I mean it's a
roll of the dice. There no pun intended. Saturday evening
when invited to my cousin Eric, my cousin Eric invited
Grace and I to a fundraiser event for his company,
a company called Golden State Foods and their foundation. It
took place at the Pacific Palms restaurant in the City
(41:22):
of Industry, top of the hill there where it was
a casino themed event. Uh They had blackjack tables, craps tables,
and roulette tables as well, and you had to buy
casino money in order to acquire tickets for some pretty
cool raffle items that were up for grabs, and there
was also a silent auction for some pretty cool items
as well, and my wife ended up winning a pet
(41:44):
care basket with toys and treats and like nail clippers
and other items for the dogs. So we had a
great time and we were happy to be invited to
the event. Sunday was plenty of rest and relaxation with
some NBA playoff basketball and between domestic chores. And that
was my weekend. Petros, What about you? Did you have
(42:05):
a good weekend?
Speaker 2 (42:05):
I suppose so each life I did do that. I
gave away most all my beach life. I had four
tickets for every day and I gave them away for Friday.
My wife wasn't happy about that, but I thought we
had anyway. I gave them away Friday and then I
gave them away Saturday. Uh see Duran Duran Duran Duran
(42:27):
was Friday, and I should have been. I heard it
was really cool and they.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
Were pretty cool on all the videos.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
Yeah, and I think it was their biggest night ever,
which is hard to believe because I was there at
the Gwinn Stefani Sublime thing. But uh, I didn't go Friday,
and I didn't go Saturday. On Saturday, I did yoga
and then we had soccer. Cali had soccer, and then
there was a birthday party for Lizzie Grantis. A puppy party.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
What's that?
Speaker 2 (42:57):
So, like they you hire these people and they'd bring
a bunch of puppies to play with the kids.
Speaker 4 (43:03):
Oh wow, Yeah, it was a pretty cool idea.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
It was a big hit. And uh yeah, I've never
seen that before. They have puppy yoga, you know, where
they bring a bunch of puppies and you do yoga with.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
The puppy climb on you.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yeah, I guess, yeah, but this wasn't that. So we
did that. I had that, and then on Sunday I
went to yoga and when I was getting out of yoga,
I got a bunch of texts that there was like
a shooter or a bomb threat or like people were
freaking out about the Redondo Beach pier. And I was
really worried about, you know, all the people that the
(43:38):
beach life people and all the work they put in
and here's the third day of their festival. And a
few years ago when My Morning Jacket played, they got
blown off the stage with zz top the wind had
an evacuation and they weren't able to finish Sunday and
people lost money and all that. So it was really concerning.
When they evacuated the pier it turned out a swatting
(44:01):
thing and you know, like the.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Ft, the take.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
It so very unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
But the beach like Peter, there was the guys that
run Banneroo that swatted him.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Yeah, you outside lands we run Bonnaroo. Glassonberry's pissed. But
so anyway, it got going again, which was cool. And
uh I took my wife and my daughter and we
were there and we saw a lot of people. I
(44:33):
saw Josh ruprict of the Chargers. We had a we
had an adult beverage. I watched My Morning Jacket with
my wife. You like that, Jo lovely to see Josh.
Nothing like seeing John Black. Uh So I enjoyed that.
And saw Donovan franken Rider's son play Hendrix. That was nice,
(44:56):
and watched him watch his kid, which was kind of
cool and then when James Taylor was playing, I got
my daughter out, and my wife and daughter and I
went to the Project Barley, which is my favorite thing
to do on the way out. You're familiar with the
place in the area, Matt and got a one of
those cheeseburgers on the way out, which I enjoyed, But
(45:19):
a drunk woman came and almost tried to ruin my time.
Speaker 4 (45:23):
I was able to accostume she tried to steal your cheeseburger.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
She came over and was like, where's the line visit?
And I was like, well, they haven't wired on the concert.
See James Taylor still playing. I was like, and I'd
never seen that before where they wire up all the bars,
you know in the slip area there.
Speaker 4 (45:41):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Yeah, I thought it was really cool. They wired them
up and they were all streaming the concert and you
could hear the music all the way down there, and
it was cool. And she was like, what concert. You're
in charge of the concert. I was like, no, I'm
and then she and then she started like bitching at
my wife and daughter. So way we ate quickly, and
(46:04):
that was my weekend. A lot of drunks.
Speaker 4 (46:09):
Yeah, but you know what's the festival for right.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
Well, I don't think she was at the festival. I
think he was more of.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
Just like a local drunk beach bar barnacle, Yeah, trying
to figure it out.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
Drunk by six it's nine o'clock.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
Yeah, that's pretty standard. I guess. Huh, why is my
regular routine down there by the What are we.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Doing here down there by the fish market? Yes, Matt
quality seafood. Absolutely yeah. Oh and I saw Kates's favorite
lacrosse referee and we discussed how chippy it got between
Shamanad and Village Christian.
Speaker 7 (46:41):
She wasn't on the call, she said.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
I was there, she was, Maybe she wasn't. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
I'm taking notes.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
We'll be back with more pictures and money. We're a
number song coming up next
