(00:05):
That's right, Matt and joining usright now. One of our favorite people
in football and truly one of thegreat guys. He cares about people and
he invented the job of NFL insider. Be sure to catch Fox Sports Radios
Draft Night Live. It's tomorrow, right after the Dodgers Nats, the Great

(00:26):
Jay Glazer. We'll have Steve Kime, LeVar Arrington, Rob Stone. I
mean, it's gonna be very exciting. They'll go pick by pick with that
great coverage that we always expect everyyear. And Jay's got a podcast,
Unbreakable with Jay Glazer and Mental Wealthpodcast available right here on the iHeartRadio app

(00:48):
wherever you get your podcasts. Andthis week he's got Steve Kime telling his
story and Chime is also part ofthe NFL Draft package on Fox Sports.
It's Radio tomorrow. We are sograteful to have them on the Great Jay
Glazer on the Petrosen Money Show. What's cracking? Jay? How are you
brothers? How are we doing?Fabulous? And it's great to hear your

(01:11):
your voice. Uh you know,do you still you used to be so
uh so energetic and you still arearound this world of the NFL. Do
you still get juiced up for thedraft. Do you still get excited about
these young guys going to different teams? I love this. I love this,
Tom because also I approach you differentlythan the other insiders is part I
don't do a man draft. Andthe reason why I don't do a my

(01:34):
draft. If a team tells me, hey, this is what we're taking
Blazer, but you can't say anything, well that means I can't say anything.
I'm not gonna lie to the fan. Right from where I do say
it is when the draft starts, when you're listening on Fox Sports Radio.
I do. Man, I've reallybeen tied into what's going to happen before
well before, not like on theclock, but well before things are going
to happen. A lot of teamshave let me see their draft boards.

(01:57):
Understand you know why they're making certainmoves. We're guys ranked, so I
then we give you more of aninsight than any other place you could really
get it. But man, Iloved it and I love being kind of
part of it. Like a lotof teams during this process, like this
week and last week, they'll callme and they'll say, hey, this
is a guy. We love thisguy. Can we get them where we
are? And I'll say, naw, you got to move up to at
least this spot or you know, and they're like, well, you know

(02:22):
if anybody's looking to sell up there, and I'm like, well, you
can see two teams are looking tosell, so I kind of get part
with them, which I love. And then sometimes I'll say, listen,
there's no way you're guys going tobe there. Who's your next guy that
you love? And they'll say,oh, this guy, well, you
can move back four spots if youneed him and that'll happen also, which
it. Man. I just lovethis top. I love it. It's
a great reason to check in startingat five o'clock right here on AM five

(02:45):
seventy. It feels like Jay atleast kind of surrounding the draft the last
two weeks that they either it's goingto be four quarterbacks or it's going to
be three quarterbacks and Marvin Harrison Juniorand then the Chargers around the clock where
the Chargers stationed, and everything seemsto point to Joe Hartiz and Jim Harball
wanting to get out of there andget some more picks to try to stock

(03:06):
this roster with players that fit whatJim Harbaugh wants to do. But it
also seems like there's some really highend blue chip players there at number five
without betraying any trust. Like, what do you think their kind of approach
is going to be when they're onthe clock at number five? Yeah,
first of all, I don't thinkfour quarterbacks go in the first four.
I think it's three. I thinkyou have Caleb got Goes and Kayden Dangles

(03:27):
go and I Drake Mago's. Ithink if there's any hey that's really in
play, Like, I don't thinkWashington's in play unless somebody just so it
was like a herschel Walker type tradewith Washington. I just don't see that
happening. And you know, Ithink the Patriots, I know they like
May a lot, but does somebodyhave enough to get up there three?
That's the question. A lot ofpeople thought Minnesota, Minnesota. You know

(03:51):
they're gonna have to give a lotmore I think ammunition than they've already talked
about. They definitely have had talkswith them. I know a couple of
other teams that I talked to themas well. But I think they're really
looking for somebody to really knock thestocks off to make that move. So
if you've got those three quarterbacks downand look, people thought, you know
that it's just gonna be totally youknow, they're talking about five quarterbacks taking

(04:13):
the top ten. I'm not sosure about that. And even when you
look at this whole thing, Ithink we almost got ahead of ourselves.
There's really six teams that need quarterbacksand that's it. And you know,
so you know, if there's tenof them, then you can have people
jumping all over each other. Butit'll be interesting. You know, when
you don't have a quarterback, lifesucks in the NFL. The intention really,
you know, move these guys upa lot more. And you know,

(04:35):
people are split after that, whetherthe next quarterback is you know,
JJ McCarthy or whether it's Tennix.I don't think Bonus is in that conversation
per sae with that level of thoseguys, but he's certainly in the next
guy there. But even like peopleare really split on me. I've had
teams that have Drake may as thefifth or sixth guy. Other teams have

(04:55):
him as number two. You know, Caleb's the guy, He's the guy
across everybody's born and Jayden Daniels seemslike he's somewhat of the consensus number two
after that, But yeah, it'sit's it's gonna be interesting to see what
happens where. You know, Ithink Jim Harbor, you just bring him
up. I think Jim was masterfulbut telling the world many he's the best

(05:15):
guy in this draft, best quarterbacksbecause if he can get four quarterbacks to
go before him, he's sitting prettyhe is the pick to everybody else,
right, Yeah, And that's kindof what everyone's pointing to is would he
really, knowing how Jim Harball likesto coach football, would he really pass
on Marvin Harrison Junior if he's sittingthere at five to get you know what
seems to be a guy that everyone'scalling a franchise, you know once every

(05:41):
five years style left tackle and JoeAll with his size and the way he's
able to move. Are you hearinglike, do teams have those two guys
created almost level in terms of howthey rate them, because those are two
premium positions wide receiver and left tackle. No, you know, it's funny
neither one or I would say JoeAll more of a consent it's top and
Marvin Harrison. Marvin Harrison, it'shim, uh, Donday emlik Neighbors.

(06:05):
They're one, two and three oneverybody's boards, but they're mixed. It's
not it's not a slam Dunk andHarrison and everybody's boards at all. For
the most part of Tim or Neighbors. I've had a couple of teams that
have with Donday both of them,so that's not as much a consensus.
I would say the teams I've talkedto more than not have had Altars the
top left tackle. And then that'spretty interesting because it's first. I would

(06:29):
say All was really there and probablyflu Agraph Morgan State was next. But
and jac Latham from Alabama has reallyskyrocketed the later part of last week and
over the weekend as well. TheGreat Jay Glazer on your Southern California Toyota
Dealer Celebrity Hotline. And he isa celebrity. He is the man when
it comes to information in the modernage and sports. He created a whole

(06:51):
new role in sports television and UHand social media. And now he sits
on his throne and works during theball season and he works the draft on
Fox Sports Radio what about the Raiders, they're at thirteen, they need a
quarterback, Well, they have ahard time moving up Jay. Well,
that's one of the teams that reallywanted Jay and Daniels. Obviously Antonio Pearce

(07:13):
and Marvin Lewis is on the staffalso, they go back with him to
Arizona State, helped recruit him overthere. Love him, absolutely, love
him. You know. I knowthat they're hoping that they can somehow get
Washington to move off them, butlike I said, I just don't see
that happening. And then everybody justhas them linked up with Panics there.
I even think that that may bea little high for them there, but
it depends if everybody else is offthe board. If they do that,

(07:36):
daven sold like you know, afterthem, really the you know, I
think that's shaped like as far asquarterbacks, they got to look at our
little trafford here. But they're sittingthere. They can move back, you
know, if they do love Panicsthere, they can move back because nobody
after them really needs a quarterback. But if they sit there also, look

(07:57):
they get they need some help ontheir office line, and that's the time,
that's that's the position you can reallystart to get some of these other
tackles really good value there. Butthe other interesting part of the camp is
like defensive players, Like we're notlooking at some of these defense Like normally
you have this elite rush end that'sgoing to go right out of the gates,
right. You always have the toplast couple drafts you've had the top

(08:22):
tier defensive ends going one, twoor three or something along those lines.
You know, first time people reallyhave a defensive player taken as possibly Atlanta
at eight, and then you knowafter that they may may start loading it
for not as much. So it'sgonna be pretty interesting. It's going to
be all offense for the most partup until then. And then the Raiders

(08:43):
looking and go, okay, wellwho's the cream of the crofter defensively,
they may be in a position totake one of the top two or three
different players in the draft. Yeah, have you heard Jay? I don't
know how you know forthcoming teams arewith their medicals. I would assume you
get different answers from different teams,But you know where the UCLA station as
well, and laugh to Lato looksto be the best at I mean,

(09:03):
if you just take production and theway he looks on the tape. But
I know there's medical concerns. Ishe going to have an issue? Are
we going to hear his name calledin the first round and maybe the top
half of the first round. Someteams have an issue, some teams don't,
and some teams have an issue withor some teams they say, well,
we've cleared him, but there's acaveat there. But a lot of
teams have cleared him. Here's whatI love about him. He really is

(09:28):
like he's fantastic, like against therun and recognizing that oh man, it's
it's play actions, it's past. Now he could really adjust. Well,
I think he's adjusted even his playto protect his neck, protect his head
and neck, which is pretty interesting. But the best part I would say
is something was taken from him, like football was taken from him in medically
retired and was able to come backafter that. So from when I talk

(09:52):
to people in UCLA, they're like, he has so much of a different
appreciation than all so the kids aroundhim like this got taken them from him.
Now he has it. So hegoes about this in life. Man,
he's so grateful and it's just adifferent mindset was a really it's pretty
cool year, especially for a guy, just a young guy. His age
to look at football was so muchof an appreciation get a second leap on

(10:15):
his football life. Jay Glazer withus, We're so happy to have him
tomorrow. Logistically, Jay, areyou just going to be taking Stone to
task with you know, trades happeningand all kinds of stuff and just just
having to whip Stone all around NewYork City. Hey, Stone's great.
He kind of sits there and leavesit up for us. He's fantastic.
And you know, to have SteveKhn there and you know, listen,

(10:39):
you got to mention my podcast earlier. I'm proud of Steve Kahn because I'm
on our podcast this week, UnbreakableMetal Wealth Podcast. He opened up for
the first time that this guy waswent to react during the season his last
year in Arizona, and that's actuallywhen he parted ways with the Cardinals.
He talked about what led him thereand pressure that you know, this job

(11:01):
goes to where he started taping in, He's like, I couldn't find any
happiness, and he admitted on theair, look, I was taking Ambient
and Zach together at night, justto get a break from how said I
was in the misery, and nowI went and working myself and got myself
some help, and I needed tohelp. And I didn't know how to
like the guy who was making allthese picks for the Cardinals. I didn't
know how to like that person, and I do now. It was a

(11:22):
really cool, vulnerable conversation, butalso great advice for anybody in an executive
role, for anybody who wants tobe a GM. He was fantastic.
I'm pumped to do this with himtomorrow, no doubt, looking forward to
hearing the pod and to hearing thebroadcast tomorrow. You know, we'll just
finish it on that note, Jay, are you are you ever surprised?

(11:45):
Or I should say, would webe surprised if we knew what you know
about how different each of these frontoffices are. Do you get the sense
that most of them operate the sameor is each of the thirty two so
different than the other, totally differentthan the other. So it's so funny.
There's certain teams I had to talkliterally about a certain player today cornerback

(12:07):
right, and if one scene saiddue, we took this guy off our
board he is a complete jag off. We have taken him off our board.
Nothing there. And then I'm talkingto this other team going, ohit
top right a corner of our board. Great kids, man, we love
the kid. It really is likefum getting taken off the board too.
Highest character of all these guys.I'm like, all right, well,
one of you guys messed up theinterview. I don't know who it was,

(12:28):
but it is incredible. And thenI will say this what was surprised
and most is the stuff I dohear about these kids which I can never
repeat. And oh my god, listen all these cats who want to play
in the NFL. These dudes.Look at your Twitter and Instagram and Snapchat.

(12:48):
Starting in like sixth grades, startingin junior high, they had companies
that monitor you from all the wayback then, and all your stuff is
in these reports right up there. It's wild, unbelieve. And knowing that,
man, I know, you don'treally think about when you're seventh grade.
They just affect you later on life, but it does, so let's
always be careful. And it's man, they know stuff about your family,

(13:11):
about your coaches, about your it'severything. Uh, it's incredible. You
know me also, obviously, guys, I want to do a lot of
mental health work now and this I'mglad to see teams at least starting to
evaluate with that in mind, whichI think is a big shift as well,
and understanding why a guy acts acertain way. So now it's not

(13:33):
just oh, this guy acts thisway and you know he's a you know,
forget him. It's like he actsthis way because you know, grew
up without a father, struggle herewith his mom. Here, older sister
did this, brother was killed somethingabout like they understand more and I think
they give them a little bit moregrace than they did in the past.

(13:56):
Well, it's all happening tomorrow nightand at Controls like a real star Chime
LeVar Stony and don't forget Unbreakable withJay Glazer, a mental wealth podcast.
A guy who's been around football andtries to give back and help people in
football and be part of that story. Steve Kaim his first guest, A

(14:18):
great conversation, Jay, you reallyare one of the great guys. Appreciate
you and good luck tomorrow. Havea great one. Hey, you know
I'm doing in a week from nowtoo, right, beach life. I'm
going from here. I'm eloping nextweek. Oh wow, congratulations fantastic going
to Italy with a death list ofzero. I'm notice inviting any of my
knucklehead friends, not one of them. Great idea. That's the best idea

(14:39):
you've ever had in your life,no doubt. Congratulations, Mazel Top,
you're the best. Yeah, she'sgreat. Be beautiful,
