Speaker 3 (02:44):
Dane, This is really cool. A lot of celebrations coming
ahead of America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday, and one
of the things happening is an old Gallison vessel preparing
to set sail on its biggest voyage in four decades.
It's the iconic tall ship Alyssa. It was built back
in eighteen seventy seven in Scotland. Now one of Galvi's
most recognizable symbols, It's expected to depart in early June

(03:06):
for New York Harbor, where it's going to take part
in the Sail Force Celebration, which is a part of
America's two hundred and fiftieth Alyssa, the official tall ship
of Texas and a fixture on the city Seal, has
not made an extensive voyage since nineteen eighty six. Now
forty years later, the ship once again is heading out
to see as part of an international gathering at some
of the world's most iconic tall ships and naval vessels.

(03:27):
The sail Force event specifically continues a tradition of milestone
maritime celebration. So and for Galveston, this is Alyssa's voyage.
Is a chance for our beloved symbol of the island
to take center stage and this upcoming once in a
generation national celebration. This is so cool.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
I remember going to the tall ships in New York.
I think for our two hundredth birthday. Wow, Amley and
I were there and the crowds at Battery Park getting
off the ship.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
I mean we didn't get off until three in the morning.

Speaker 1 (03:54):

guys might be getting ready to go on your summer vacation.
Maybe it's a road trip, maybe you're flying to your destination.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
The hotel very important.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
When I open up the closet and I do not
request this, Anthony, I never even thought to ask about this,
But when I do open up the closet and there's
a robe hanging there, a nice fluffy robe, I just
feel like, ooh, that is me.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I'm going to crawl right into that and get all
comfy cozy.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Which is awesome because I've never picked that up.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I wouldn't you put on the robe?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I mean, even when we do events like for iHeartMedia,
they'll put us in a nice hotel and look at
that robe, and.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I'm this is nice because I guess I don't. I
never wear one at home or anything like that, so
I guess when I'm at or when I'm on you know,
quote vacation or just not in my you know, home
kind of bubble, it's not something that clicks for me
to wear it. But it does feel luxurious, you know,
if you'll see it.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, that's what we learned our nearly impossible question. Maybe
a lot of you think that when you open up
the closet you see a robe, ooh, this is a
luxurious hotel, yel some.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Kind of fancy. You know, there's a there's a minimum
level of fancy.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Would that be the case for you or are you
looking for something else that makes your hotel stay just
a boh fancier than normal? Seven one three two one

(05:49):
Anthony Sunny Hot Day to Day for your Tuesday, I'm
gonna go up to eighty eight. Right now, it is
seventy four, an uptown unofficial start of summer. Making your
travel plans, and we have got Steve. Now you're calling
in from Baytown. You are a truck driver in Baytown.
Are you going to be able to maybe take a
road trip that's not business or travel with your family

(06:11):
this summer?

Speaker 6 (06:12):
Steve, Well, my wife and I just came back from Croatia.
We went to Debrovnick back in March and split Croatia.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
So we've done some travel already for this year.

Speaker 6 (06:22):
Oh my gosh, I think beyond this, we're gonna probably
check out the MSc Cruise Lines. Oh but I mean,
you know, the hotels we stay at we have bathrobes
pretty much all the time, but not too.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Many of the days.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Oh see, that sounds fantastic really, the MSc Cruise Lines.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
That was my very first cruise ship I ever went on.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
That.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
My mother in law took me on and I had
the best time, but my mother in law and my
husband got very ill, so I basically spent seven days
all by myself.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
And it was fantastic, you know what I'm saying, Steve. So,
did you take a cruise to Croatia.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
No, we flew into Croatia. When I fly international, I
like to fly in and and I like to get in,
like to kind of get it, kind of.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
Immerse myself into the culture. Right. Wow.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah, I think that Croatia was beautiful.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
What was your favorite part?

Speaker 7 (07:24):
It was gorgeous. We stayed in De brove Neck and
the old town at the Imperial Hilton which had a
bathrobe there you go, But.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Did it have adet?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Did it have a bidet?

Speaker 5 (07:39):
It did not, did not, and that was I was
a little disappointed because of that, because you know, we
we are American Express cardholders and we usually stay in
Hilton products and U it was surprisingly this Hilton did
not have a bidet.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
You have to go over to Italy then to get
your bidet.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Fixed, right, Yeah, absolutely, yeah, Stee, thank you for Sharon,
and so glad, how did you find Sunday ninety nine
point one.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
I'm just curious.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Well, I've been actually listening to Sunday ninety nine point.

Speaker 7 (08:15):
One over the years because I'm just a music lover.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Oh I'm sixty one years old, and so now I
think I'm just kind of embracing my I'm a grandfather.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
I'm a mature man now, and so I just.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
Like to sit back and listen to some music that
is very nostalgic to me because I grew up on
a lot of this music that you play back in
the eighties, in the seventies and late seventies and eighties
and nineties and all of that. So it's just easy listening.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
That is appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Thank you so much, and take care, happy travels.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
I have a great day and a great week.

Sunny Duddy night point one with Danna in the morning.
Here's what's right now in Age Town.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
New survey out telling us our favorite months of the year. Continually.
It's always this month, May and October.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Isn't that crazy?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
May has so many different holidays And October well, I
think it's because it gets cooler and people love Halloween
and the leaves change and we're a month away from
the Christmas music here on Sunny But May is super
popular as well. I mean here in our area, so
many schools are out. We have Memorial Day, which we
just celebrated, And isn't Mother's.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Day in May?

Speaker 6 (09:37):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Also, but another favorite is June. June is coming up
and it's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Why is that everyone's favorite? Has my birthdays in June?

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I graduated in June and Father's Day is in June.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yes, Anthony, what's your favorite month? It's got to be
January just because it's my birthday month and it's a
start of a new year.

Speaker 1 (10:00):

let us know we'd love.
