Sunday nighty nine point one Houston's best variety of the
eighties nineties, And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony with
the three things you need to know to get the
last day of March.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yep, it's Tuesday, March thirty first started.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
TSA agents finally got paid yesterday after forty five days
due to the partial government shutdown, and it was retroactive pay,
which is really cool. So how did that affect of
the lines at both Houston Airports? Well at Bush significant
improvement and check this out at Hobby it was less
than fifteen minutes to get through TSA line, so that

(00:33):
is awesume. You can always check fly the number two
Houston dot com to see about the TSA the security
wait times. Well, the world is watching the countdown to
the Artemis two launch NASA and Kennedy Space Center in
Florida and Johnson's Space Center here in Houston undergoing final
prep for the launch. Now, they could stop the countdown

(00:53):
at any second because they've got this massive go no
go list that they're checking. There's a two hour window
starting at five twenty four tomorrow afternoon. And women's basketball
Texas Longhorns beat Michigan seventy seven to forty one, securing
a second.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Straight Final four. So good for them.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Go Texas and your weather. We've got some showers today,
possible thirty percent. Chant is going to go up to
eighty four now rain on Saturday about a sixty percent
chance bringing us a cool Easter Sunday. How's only sixty five.
It's sixty five now in Uptown. And you're up to
date from Sunday ninety nine point one Sunday ninety nine
point one, Houston's Best Variety of the eighties nineties. And

(01:33):
today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and weather today, well,
we could see a little rain. It's going to be warm,
much cooler on Easter though Easter Sunday. Anthony's only going
to go up to sixty five today, eighty four. Right now,
it's sixty five in Uptown and Anthony, yesterday I was
coming home bringing my granddaughter home from gymnastics, little Naomi,

(01:53):
and I see this man. Now, I live out in
the country in Austin County, and there is this little
man who looks so disheveled, kind of hunched over, just
walking on the side of a country road with nothing
in sight nothing and I drove by him and I said, Naomi,
that that's just not right, like something's going on.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
And you know, he reminded me of my mom.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
My mom passed away several weeks ago, but she loved
to walk. She was eighty six years old, and she
would kind of walk, sort of hunched over. And I
just kept seeing my mom and him, so I said, okay,
I dropped her off at home.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I turned around and.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Went back to him and I said, excuse me, but
could I give you a ride somewhere? He goes, yeah,
I'm trying to make it to McAllen and I'm looking
face and I'm just like, okay, well, I can't take
you to McAllen, but I could take you to a
gas station up near I ten And he said, okay.
I got him some water. I stopped home, got him

(02:51):
some water, sliced up some apples.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Anthony. He left Houston at six in the morning. This
was at six.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Fifteen at night. Oh my god, this man had been walking.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I don't know his story. He was eighty years old,
what with a determination. So I brought him to a
gas station a long eye ten headed towards Columbus, Texas,
and those guys that I didn't know what to do
with him, those guys took over. Here's the picture of
me with him at the gas station.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
That's amazing. Precious old man. I know.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
His name was Ronaldo, and I just said, well, I
pray for you that you make it to your destination.
And he called me an angel and he said, I'm
determined to make it.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And that was it.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Man.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Because McCallan's got quite a hike away. That's near where
my grandpa lives, way in South Texas.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I know, so hopefully there was someone there who was
able to help him continue his journey. Man, he was
sharp witted, Yeah, he was all there. He's a veteran
and it was just incredible. I don't recommend women do that,
but I just felt safe in doing it.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
He was just this.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Small, older man, sure a determination that reminded me of
my mom.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
And it was just like it was unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
It's funny you say that, because that's that reminds me
of my mom as well too. That's that same determination,
that same kind of fire here and if.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
They're alone, you hope that someone will come along and
help them. Yet in their journey. Yeah, it was just amazing.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It was amazing, Okay, speaking of someone coming along and
helping out on a journey. Yesterday was National Doctor's Day.
It's this doctor that has allowed Kaiser Duchhane to live
his best life even though he's got leukemia. Tell me
something good coming up next, done, sunny, tell me something
good brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
His name is Kaiser Dushane.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
He's a fifteen year old golfer at Gene Thomas High
School and he is not letting leukemia slow him down.
He attended the Texas Children's Houston Open while receiving treatment
with a specialized chemotherapy backpack.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I mean it's crazy. I don't even I heard of
these before.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, Doctor Matt Willis is his doctor, and he is
helping Kaiser achieve his dreams with this portable device that
administers chemo therapy. It's amazing that way he can stay active.
It's a chemotherapy backpack, something that's new and available to
kids at Texas Children's.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Incredible. Amazing Producer Anthony Dane, This is also incredible.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
There's a baseball team that recently set a program record
This past Friday night, in a game that quickly turned historic,
the Temple Wildcats baseball team defeated Kaleen forty one to one,
ending the game after innings due to the run rule.
The forty one runs marks the most scored most scores
in a single game in their program history. The Wildcat's

(05:43):
biggest any came in the second when Temple scored twenty
four runs alone to break the game open early and
put the run rule within reach. And while their forty
one run sets the program record, it's still far from
the national high school record dan The most runs ever
scored in a high school baseball game is actually one
hundred and nine. That was said by Griswold High School
way back in nineteen twenty eight. The Wildcats will return

(06:06):
to the field this Saturday when they face Colleen Chaparral
in a non district contest. First pitch is scheduled for
one PM. But man, congrats to the Wildcats. That's amazing
setting a new program record forty one runs.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
But how does that other team even cope? What exactly? Lifeless?
What do you do after that?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:21):
My well, well, do you know what you do?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
You go to Costco and get one of those one
dollar and fifty cent hot dogs that everybody loves.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
So much, and check this out. Not a bad idea.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
This is a gift for someone who has everything. Everyone
loves the one to fifty hot dog at Costco. Well,
now they have released it happened on Friday, a bourbon
that pairs perfectly. As a matter of fact, the label
it's called the I Got That Dog in Me and
it's the Costco hot Dog on the label. Now, unfortunately

(06:50):
it sold out this iteration. We're still waiting to see
if Costco is going to release another batch of this.
I think it's aged eleven years both or a bourbon
yeah for the.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Costco hot dog.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
I'm just thinking a hot dog with bourbon. I don't
know if I've ever had bourbon, but I would like
to try the pain.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah and see how it would work. And that name though,
I got that dog, I got that dog in Me.
So check it out. We'll wait and we'll let you know.
It's so good as it coming back around again. I
love it.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Well.

Speaker 1 (07:19):

And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony, and we've got
some rain today, lots of rain moving in on Saturday,

(07:41):
cooling things off for your Easter.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Sunday.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Hi's only sixty five, but today we go up to
eighty four.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Right now, it's sixty five in uptown.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
And we learned in our nearly impossible question the most
common digital blunder texting the wrong person. Aw Man, you
know my story about texting pastor Don. When I thought
I was texting Bob, my husband yesterday, the guy who's
been mowing my lawn because it's just too much for me,
he texted me a very interesting text message and I

(08:11):
thought okay, and I didn't really know how to respond,
and I did and he goes, oops, that was meant
for Don another Don. I was like, yep, been there,
done that, Yeah, Josh, so don't worry about it. Of course, Anthony,
you get lots of texts from people that you're like,
who are you.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, just random one offs and and they'll be like
almost with that tone of I know you and exactly
you're assuming and so just scrolling through a few that
I've gotten as of late. Here's one, we made plans
to travel together next month. You didn't forget, did you weird?
Well I guess I did. Here's another one. How have
you been lately? Hope you have a happy, stress free

(08:48):
new Year. Very nice, But I don't know who that is.
I'm going to Houston for a charity gala. If you're free,
we can grab coffee together. Don't know that person either,
and you text them back? No, I don't every nip
I used to. I used to, but then sometimes they
either wouldn't or like they would continue to speak as
if they knew me, but won't give me any information.
And then here's one Dan, I'm gonna visit and this

(09:10):
was prescient. I'm gonna visit your place next month. I'll
have a nice dinner when I get there. And I
was an I should say. I showed it to Jess.
I'm like, you don't have this number right, because I
thought it might have been like a family.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
She's like no, I'm like, okay, it's just a rando,
so very yes.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
I don't know where my number is on a list,
maybe somewhere.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
And they keep getting to your number the person that
they're trying to actually text your texting blunders. We'd love
to hear a funny story from you. Seven and how
did you recover? Remember it's all in the recovery seven one,
three two. When when I texted pastor Don a list
of to do things for Bob, he goes, I'll have
to check with my wife first, and it was just

(09:49):
like laughing. I'm going, Oh my gosh, Don, I'm so sorry.
I didn't have my glass on.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Seven one two, five ninety nine one Sunday Night Que's.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
And today on Dani with producer Anthony and we've got
some showers possible today thirty percent chance warming up to
eighty four. Right now it's sixty five and uptown talking
about texting blunders, some embarrassing things either you've done or
someone has done to you. And we've got Sandy calling
in from Lake Jackson. Now you work at a bank, Sandy,
your texting blunder you want to share?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Well, one time it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Was New Year's Eve and we ended up. I ended
up in a group.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
You know message, you know, let's a group chat remembers.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Of course, yay, group chat, and I, I don't know,
I ended up texting someone also in California, so that
person became part of our group text. Oh no, I
don't know what I did. I think I think I
you know, transposed numbers or I don't know what I
did area code or something.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
What was it? Let me ask you? This was the
group chat?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Like, was it a political a religious group chat? No?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
It was for New Year's Eve, so, you know, celebrating
New Year's Day. You know, there's one I did get
It wasn't It wasn't meant for me. It was some
lady in the nude.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
You got a text of a lady naked.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yes, yes, that was a few years back. But oh
my word, it wasn't meant for me because because she was,
you know, like, you know, showing her private.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Oh my, what did you just delete or what something new?

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Did you contact her and say, hey, what's going on here?

Speaker 3 (11:28):
No? I just put nasty. You got the wrong person.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I'm so sorry. She's the one. Who should.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
I mean, I'm pretty sure if whoever she was trying
to text. You know would have enjoyed it because evidently
she knew that person.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
But be careful with man. It's so good. I love
it right.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
But the fun one was, you know, the New Year's
celebrating New Years because you know what's part of our group.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Yeah, that is so fun, Sandy, Thank you for Sharon. Yeah,
I'm so glad you listened to Sonny.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yes, ma'am, I listen to you all the time.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
I love you all.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
I mean for years, many years, I've been listening to
you all.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
You're the best.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
And when I'm in my.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Car, well, you just made our day, my friend. Thank
you again, you Sandy.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Thank you cigarette Sunny Daddy nine point one with Danna
in the morning.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Here's what's trending right now in ah Town. Well, today
is March thirty first.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
That means tomorrow is April fools Day, April first, then
we've got Easter Sunday, then tax Day yep, it's April fifteenth,
and it's trending. And if you can't get years done
by then you need to file an extension and you
can ask for up to six months to continue working
on your taxes. But the extension is only for paperwork.
If you owe money, it's due on April fifteenth, And

(12:49):
I always wondered about that. If I'm not done with
my taxes, how much do I know how much I owe?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Right? I mean, it's always a curiosity.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
But if you don't pay what you owe oh by
April fifteenth, then you'll have to pay more penalties.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
What a hassle. It's also confusing.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yes, tax Day April fifteenth is trending right here on
Sunday nightty nine point one.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Such a bummer can't wait until the sixteenth
