Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm Dana with producer Anthony on Sunday ninety nine point one,
and we've got Houston's best variety of the eighties, nineties
and today and the three things you need to know
to get your Anthony.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
This would be Friday Eve. Y'all you feel good? Friday Eve?
Thanks straight.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
January twenty second.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yep, it's Thursday, and it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
We've got a high of seventy today and a winter
storm watch starting tomorrow. Yep, the temperatures are going to plummet.
Center Point taking this seriously, they've added over six hundred
frontline workers to be ready for what the freeze might
bring to us this weekend. Now their workforce total thirty
three hundred. Now, the power adage that we had in

(00:43):
twenty twenty one, it was wild unlikely this time, according
to experts, because of power plants significant upgrades.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Time will tell on that.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
With the ice building up on power lines and trees,
that's when the branches break and the power lines fall,
and then we lose our power. Now, if it happened,
Centerpoint says it has the manpower to get them back.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Up as soon as possible, So we're counting on every word.
They say yeah, really, Now many.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
People we were talking about flying Anthony and I were
talking off air listen. Most airlines are waving flight change
fees this weekend, so everyone could be safe. You don't
have to worry about delays or cancelations, but the new
tickets need to be going to the same destination as
the original one, so definitely call your airline plan accordingly.

(01:32):
Weather today, we're starting now with a dense fog advisory
until nine.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
We've got some rain but warm.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
We're going to go up to seventy and then we've
got a winter storm advisory. And it looks like Sunday
Saturday night into Sunday is going to be bad as
the freezing rain begins Saturday afternoon into the evening and
then all day Sunday it stays freezing. If it continues
to rain while it's freezing, that's where we're going to
have some tough times. Definitely want to stay off the

(01:59):
free ways then for sure, really stay indoors, stay safe.
Right now, we're at sixty in Uptown and Europe to
date on sunny tell me something good brought to us
by our friends at Goodwill Houston. I know you were

me for Sunday, February first. It's going to be at
the West Club NRG Stadium one to five pm and
they're looking to hire one thousand part time employees. While

reach that high note.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Oh you had it almost so I heard it seven twelve.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Now, No, I'm Dana with producer Anthony on NY nine
point one. Well, when you sing with me, then you
can't hear how bad I sing that. I need Anthony
to sing along. We're talking about singing at work. And
first I got to tell you the weather because we
do have a dense fog advisory until nine.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Today's super warm.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
We're gonna go up to seventy very bizarre as we've
got you know, warm today Winter Advisory tomorrow. Crazy, right, Yeah,
we've got a freeze and it could be. My brother
is got he's more up to date on Houston weather
than I am.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
He's in Vermont texting me.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
He says, wow, it says it could be below freezing
for days, and I'm like, Adam, be quiet.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Please, we have overpasses. Yeah, we don't have what you
guys have in Vermont, you know, no, not at all.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Anyway, we do have crazy weather this weekend, so just
stay alert, stay with us. We'll keep you posted on
everything that's going on. But like I said, today, up
to seventy we've got rain that could continue right through
the weekend when the temperatures start dropping. But right now
it's mild. It's sixty in Uptown. And we've been talking
about singing at work. Maybe that distresses you if this

(05:57):
weather has got your little stressed. We learned it our
nearly impossible question that we like our jobs because our
boss lets us sing out loud while we work. And
I have a co worker who tries to be kind
to me when I am very passionate about songs that
I love and I tend to sing out loud, and
then you look at me and you go. Yeah, I
know that one singing lesson you had really is working,

(06:19):
and I think you're kind of slapping me in the face,
not at.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
All, and I'd like to point out that's one more
lesson than I've had. And I did notice a different
even worse.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I gause you're an awesome singer.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
No, I noticed the difference between you know, pre and
and post. She takes more chances now on songs than
I never would hear her, like try to sing before.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
I'm a very.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Kind of I don't have very good levels, Like I
can't really hit high range. Yeah, I'm an alto. I
think it's an alto. Okay, it's very kind of like
a like a guy. I sound like a guy. But
sometimes I just want to sing those high notes and
I really breathe properly and I can get my voice
to do it.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Anthony, Yeah, I know you can that.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
One of the songs that I have been loving is
Bruno and Lady Gaga.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Oh the new one here, I gotta die with a smile.
This one.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
That though the songs where I don't even know all
the words yet, so I just kind of.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Mumble through it. But I just love that song that
that song does like kind of hit though.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
That song, by the way, is up for like Best
Song Collaboration of My Heart Radio Music Awards.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Anyone loves it.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
It's like the most downloaded song in twenty twenty five,
so good. What about you, Anthony, your favorite song to
sing along to? A song that matches kind.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Of your voice range the h I don't know. I
have a few that I've been vibing on. You mentioned
our boss when he was when he was in the
studio with us. He was on the show some years back.
We remember anytime Billy Joel came on, we would always
sing along like this one.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Because the singer he is the theater.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
He has vibrato that is just next level and I'm
like love that, yeah that, and I love doing harmonies
with him too. And then but then the other one
I might like also like doing it is maybe some at.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Cheron and tonight one fu Yeah, I like doing that
one day. Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I'm not hitting it right, but like, these are the
songs that I like biden with.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Do you sing along at work and maybe get co
workers looking at you saying like, yeah, save that for
the shower we hear from your Your favorite songs to
sing along to seven to one three and does your
boss let you listen to the radio while you're working?
Seven one two one two five ninety nine one Sunday
ninety nine point one Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties.

(08:40):
And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony talking about singing
at work. Thirty percent of us say we love work
because our boss lets us sing out loud. Our boss
encourages it because it's part of our job.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
He's belting it out too, though, exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
And we have got Perla calling in from northwest Houston.
Now you work at a doctor's office, does your doctor
boss let you go sing out loud? We are trying
to convince her this year to listen. What do we
need to record it?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Now? Hold on, hold on, you can't.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
We will. We will record a very special message for
the doctor.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
What's her name? Her name is, doctor Brooks.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Doctor Brooks, and what kind of doctor audiology?

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Okay, all right, doctor Brooks.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
If you let Parla and everyone at your office listen
to Sunny ninety nine point one while they're working, there
are studies that prove that they will just feel better.
And if they feel better, your patience will feel better,
and then your whole practice will be booming in twenty
twenty six.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
This is scientific evidence. You can definitely check it out somewhere.
I don't know when. Booster just saying, our listeners.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Say that you listen to Sonny and you just feel good, Right, Peurla,
you listen to Sonny and you feel great.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
We I'm listening to it right now and I am
so happy. See that's what I'm saying. You love it.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Well, We're gonna take this little recording and we'll send
it to your doctor Brooks. Okay, and I'm telling you
twenty twenty six, she is going to have the best
year ever and a whole bunch of happy patients. Yes,
because honestly she does. I mean, we do listen during Christmas,
but we try to extend it.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Oh. I know she's gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I know we're put it out there and it's gonna
happen in twenty twenty six. What is your favorite song
to listen to on Sunny Perla?

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Oh my god, I was just listening right now to
the song Beautiful Things.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
But honestly, all the songs, oh Benson, Boom, You're so
good Love Carla, I'm telling you you keep praying about it,
and we hope this prayer comes true because it will
just it will lift and pick you up and make
you feel so good, right it is.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yes, yes, thank you so much, all right, love, thank
you for listening, and we we our fingers crossed for you.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Okay, yes, thank you,
