Speaker 1 (04:47):
We have got William Skien, the President and CEO of
the one hundred Club and William just a tragic day yesterday.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Thank you, Dana. Yesterday was a pretty tragic day and
law enforce for the families, the co workers, the friends,
the citizens in the Hunter Club. Deputy Hissus Varga was
killed yesterday while attempting to serve to warrant as a
member of the Gulf Coast by in Defender's pass force
when he was tragically shot and killed. He also had
a police canine that was shot in the eventual apprehension
(05:18):
of the suspect as well. Deputy of Argust seventeen year veteran,
married with three children, and we will be presenting an
immediate twenty thousand dollars check to his widow for any
immediate needs she may have. Then we'll be coming back
later and looking at any other financial needs the family
has as well. That happened yesterday morning at about four
o'clock yesterday in Grimes County, Texas, there was a pursuit
(05:42):
involving a forgery suspect and Sergeant Martin Butler of the
inn Avinsota Police Department put himself. This vehicle was traveling
at a high rate of speed into oncoming traffic. He
put his patrol in it between the suspect and the
citizens and was tragically hit and killed yesterday at about
four o'clock wo Yes, he leaves behind a wife, and
we'll be meeting with her as well to give her
(06:05):
the twenty thousand dollars check, and then coming back later
as we always do, to assess the financial needs that
they may have, looking at mortgages and car payments, and
trying to take away the financial burdens these families have
during these tragic losses.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
So we now need to help you guys with a
survivor's fund. Tell us how we can go about donating absolutely.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
You know, we activate these when we lose an officer
with dependance, and tragically yesterday we lost too. So if
you'll just go to our website, the one hundred Club
dot org and it's dot org. Go to our page,
look at joining, or go to the Survivor's Fund, we'll
have links and our press release as we send out
you'll see the Survivor's link on our main page. Consider
donating to it. One hundred percent of the money donated
(06:49):
to the Survivor's Fund goes to these families, so every
penny that goes in there will go to help officers,
firefighters and their families during these tragic times in need.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Now, William, I proudly have my one hundred Club decal.
I'm a lifetime member, and you all have changed up
the membership for those who are super committed to our
law enforcement. Tell us about the new levels that we
can now be a part of.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
No great question. So for seventy two years we've had
a one hundred dollars membership and a lifetime at one thousand.
But after seventy two years we had the interests for
folks that want to do more and show more and
care more so, we've added a Diamond membership lifetime membership
and a Platinum lifetime membership, and those are a five
thousand dollars level and a ten thousand dollars level, and.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
You can pay them in increments.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I saw that, Yes, you can pay them out quarterly.
In any donation you've already made to the hundred Club
for your membership level is attributed to that next level.
So if you're already a lifetime member, it's four thousand dollars.
If you're already a lifetime member and want to go Platinum,
it would be nine thousand and payable of quarterly as well.
So it's got some great benefits. We do yetti coolers
(07:57):
for you. It's a new sticker. Some great benefits. You
get invited to our Heroes banquet. There's some great, great
benefits for the support.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Well, we can be heroes for our lawn or I'm
telling you you won't be sorry. You will feel so
proud when you get this decal on your car or truck.
I literally I wear it so proudly, William. I just
love that our law enforcement sees me supporting.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Them and owing they're not alone.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, we should all become a member the one hundred
Club dot Organ. William, thank you, and I know that
you guys are going to have a very solemn day
to day, but you have such a presence about you
when you go to these families, and I'm we're very
glad that you are the leader that's bringing some of
your board members along for these assessments and to help
the family through a really tough time.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
We're proud to help these families in their time and need.
They help us every single day they go to work,
they put their lives on their line, and when this happens,
we're there to help their families.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yeah, and you truly are.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
William Skin, thank you so much, President of the one
hundred Club again become a member the one hundred Club.
You feel so proud and thankful and it just shows
our law enforcement and all our first responders that you care. William,
thank you again, and God bless you today on your
journey to these families.
