nineties and Today Day and in the Morning and producer
Anthony on this feel good Friday. These are the three
things you need to know to get your Friday August

eighties and nineties weekend kicks off at five this afternoon
and we are turning it into a winning Labor Day weekend.

Zoo tickets more We've got to give away all weekend long.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
If you're traveling this weekend, travel will be up about
nine percent so yesterday, but it's cheaper. Gas is cheap
night Yesterday was the busiest travel day, but today between
two and six pm also busy, so avoid those hours.
And then on Monday, avoid travel between eleven am and
eight pm. Speaking of traveling, what a wild bus ride
(00:50):
yesterday Yesterday afternoon Spring ISD bus number nineteen.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
It was hit by a vehicle around four ish.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
It then struck a light pole, spun and flipped on
its side and it was cruising down the street on
its side. It was so scary, it's amazing and a miracle.
One student was injured and the bus driver, but they
are gonna be okay geez and yeah, we had a
hurricane and some roofs still aren't fixed, like NRG Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
So they've got these two big panels that kind of
flew off.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So what's the schedule for getting them fixed? Okay, first
panels should be fixed by in time for the Texans
home opener against Chicago that's Sunday, September fifteenth. Then the
second panel should be fixed before they played Jackson and
that one. That game is September twenty ninth, so it
takes time. Big panels, yep. And weather today, yep. We
(01:42):
could have some gusty winds and flooding rain and hail,
possible funnel clouds. It's a weather watch. Friday, we're gonna
go up to eighty eight and we should have rain
on and off right through your Labor Day weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Right now, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Dipped to seventy six in Uptown and Europe to date
on sunny. Tell me something good brought to us by
our friends at Goodwill Houston.

tonight's Astro's game.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Against Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Simone Biles has also been picked to throw out the
ceremonial pitch. She did it back in twenty sixteen and
twenty nineteen. I think she does flips before she does
the pitch. Anyway, it'll be amazing. Seven dollars tickets tonight,
first ten thousand through the door. Get an Astros players
and their dog's calendar as we wrap up National Dog Month.
(02:33):
That's a sweet way to do it, and go Astros
producer Anthony Dan.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
This is awesome and arguably one of Houston's more impressive
ongoing art projects. It's called Drawbook. It's the brainchild of
Sean Pendelberg. It's now and it's eleventh year. It's a
sketchbook with contributions from anyone he meets. It currently lives
insides handbuilt bookshelf full of sixty five small sketch books.
Between them are more than fourteen thy three hundred works
of original art by estimated thirteen thousand people. Dame Wow
(03:01):
Sanny trey Ho has doodled in it. He Winkler has
also contributed art. Some of the drawings and musings contained
are elaborate work, some are just swiggles by people just
you know, wanted to contribute a drawbook. As Sean says,
it's a labor of love, celebrating creation and making art exist.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
And it's pretty straightforward.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
He just prompts people he meets to simply draw what
they like inside a sketchbook that he keeps with him
at all times. He's even working on an online interactive
way for all of us to contribute to this drawbook
project so even more people can contribute. But ultimately, Sean
just wants anyone who ever put pencil to paper to
be a part of Drawbooks. So keep an eye out
for our local Houston artists looking for your art.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
It's called Drawbook. I love it. That's a great idea.
And I love this too. Talk about a great idea.
He's a ten year old Houston.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Boy who's created a program to help bring comfort to
shelter animals through the power of music. It's called Wild
Tunes and he's actually teamed up with the Houston Humane Society.
His name, U v Agerol is a self proclaimed music nut.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Started playing piano.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
In drums when he was like four years old, and
he noticed how his animals reacted positively to his music.
They were super anxious became super friendly. He found the
same results with shelter animals. One dog named Elvis would,
instead of sing along to his music, would howl along
when he played his keyboards.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
So uvy keep up the great wark, Honey, you are
an inspiration. It's amazing, isn't that great?

that we've got to keep our eye on the weather.
Weather Wat's Friday with heavy rains, possible flooding, gusty winds, hail,
funnel clouds, and we're gonna have rain on and off
throughout your Labor Day weekend. But it's keeping the temperatures
no more triple digit heat. So that's some great news today.

enjoys listening to the positivity as Isidoro delivers gas and
fuel to like what if you do five loads? Nine
thousand gallons? Incredible driving all over? And we're asking you
the same question. Did anything good happen to you this week?
