Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's gonna be mad. It just makes you feel so good.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yes, it is May first, on Sunday, ninety nine point one,
seven fifty five.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Now I'm Dana. We have Ezy producer Anthy.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
We have to do it with the three things that
you need to know on your feel good Friday. May first.
And have you seen gas prices? I had a low
pressure low tire pressure warning this morning, stopped off at
a gas station in Sealy in the rain and pumped
up my tire and then saw the gas prices four dollars.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
What is up with that? Yep, gas prices have.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Gone up nine cents in the last several days, thirty
three cents since last week, and it's because of the
what's going on in Iran and the we're concerned about
the global gas supply. So be aware of those prices.
Can't wait for them to start coming down, hopefully in
time for summer road trips. Now Camp Mysstic, speaking of summer,
their quest to get a license for summer camp is over.

(00:54):
They've withdrawn their application as families still grieve the deaths
of twenty seven who died last Fourth of July, floods
and new rules for miners at Willowbrook Mall. Check this out.
Temporary new rules they're saying there. Guests under seventeen must
be accompanied by a supervising adult twenty one or older

(01:14):
and this happens after two pm. You will not be
allowed in unless you've got someone twenty one or older
with you. And it's because of recent social media stuff
that has had some activity that the mall is very
concerned about. They just want to make sure guests have
a safe experience there. So temporary rules, they say at
Willowbrook Mall. Weather today, rain all day, this morning, lunchtime,

(01:39):
this afternoon, we're going to have some heavy storms, possible flooding.
Definitely a weather alert day as we're not even going
to get out of this sixties. It's sixty six now,
we're only going to go up to sixty six. And
you're up to date from Sunday ninety nine point one, Sunny.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Ninety nine point one with Dana in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Getting your day started, feeling good.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Give us your good news.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Tell me you would brought to us by our friends
a good Will Houston a newborn baby in a swaddling cloth.
And imagine a newborn baby wrapped in.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
An hib warm tortilla.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Well it's not actually a tortilla, but it is an
HIB tortilla themed blanket. And it all started at a
Texas Tech BYU game. Apparently there was a tradition where
they would throw tortillas. Well that was outlawed last year
because you would get a penalty. So what HGIB did
instead is they created these tortilla baby blankets. And there's

(02:48):
this adorable picture on social media media a little Andre
in an HIB tortilla blanket looking so cute, and Hib says,
we see many butter tortillas in your future, baby.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Andre, Isn't that a get one of them? My daughter
in law is gonna have a little baby named Phoebe,
and Phoebe.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Will be so comfy in an HB tortilla, Right producer
Anthony Dane, This is wild.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
We know we have some powerhouse teams in our area,
and on multiple ranking boards, the Barber's Hill softball team
sits as.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
The number one team in the nation.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
The Eagles advanced to the area round of the UIL
five A Playoffs with an impressive impressive record of thirty
two wins and just three losses. A major source for
this year's team, this year's team is the season's lost
in the state championship last year, which you can just
imagine that feeling. They were right there but happy to
report that the Eagles faced College Station in the Area
round playoffs, took the win in both games. They've got

(03:43):
the momentum and move on to the next round. Let's
see if they keep it going. I can see them
going all the way. Barber's Hill Softball team, you are amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
That is so good and I love this Savannah Bananas.
They had a free pop up game. It's part of
their world. Their Savannah Ball World Tour showed up at
Navasota High School last night. A thousand people there. It
was totally free. They were doing all kinds of their
crazy antics. I mean, they are amazing athletes. They're singers,

(04:10):
they're dancers, they're musicians, and they're just fun all around people.
So I'm really hoping the Savannah Bananas will come and
to other area Houston High School, yes, and entertain us
totally free. It's just part of their outreach program. It's
super sweet and we always love telling you something good.
We have it at Sunday ninety nine dot com. Our

Dana with producer Anthony. It's a wet, messy, feel good Friday,
but it's still Friday.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
But go slow.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
We've got lots of rain on the way today, keeping
the temperatures cool. We're only going to go up to
sixty six and it's sixty six now and uptown. And
we love our feel Good Friday because it's an opportunity
for you to share what made someone feel good in
your world this week. Maybe someone helped you feel good.
We would love to hear from you and Anthony. Anything
happened to you this week that made you feel good? Yeah,

(05:11):
actually we remember. I told you the beautiful text I
shared for my mom this past week. Some Mother's Days
coming up I got and no spoilers, but I got
her the most beautiful card. I don't want to give
anything way, but my mom loves those heartfelt things. And
it's got this like little glass stain kind of heart
thing inside of it.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
It's it's gorgeous. I'm soaded, such a good son.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
I know, I know it's a little thing and it's
a little early, but I'm so excited about it. Jess
found it for me and I was like, done, get it.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Is so good.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Well, you know my grandkids live in Wisconsin. Well they
live all over the place because I've got tons of them.
But anyway, my little Reese is having her birthday and
I'm going to surprise. I think I'm just gonna fly
there and just go hang out with us, be like surprise.
So it'll be so fun. We would love to hear
from you a feel good story seven one three two

Speaker 5 (06:18):
We went to the beach last weekend and it.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Was the best. We just loved the beach. Where did
you go?

Speaker 5 (06:23):
Oh, Galveston? Of course, we love Galveston.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Oh, okay, your favorite spots if we're thinking of going
to Galveston? What are the favorite places that you go
to all the time to eat?

Speaker 5 (06:34):
We love to go to the Spot because it's right
across from seawall and it's so fun and the music
is jamming. And when we're at the beach, we usually
go to Stewart Beach because we do like the showers.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Oh, very nice. Wait, the name of the restaurant is
the Spot?

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, right on the seawall. Yeah, right across from all
the stuff.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah. And what about for coffee? Where do you do
for coffee and dessert? Well?

Speaker 5 (06:57):
The Spot has lots of desserts. My kids love the
shake and the cheesecake at the Spot.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Wonderful. Have you guys ever taken the kids to the
Grand No? I want to though.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
They've got the Dinosaur show going on, right Dinosaur?

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah? Heidi? That is great. What made you want to
go there?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Was it just kind of like a spur of the
moment or is this a tradition that you do on
the weekends when you guys have some time.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Well, we want family in town and they live in Utah,
so they don't ever.

go to beach, Yeah they would.
