Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday ninety nine point one, Houston's holiday music station Dana
in the Morning and producer Anthony and the Three Things
you Need to Know to Get You Feel Good. Friday,
November twenty second, started, Well, we learned yesterday. Mayor John
Whitmeyer wants to become a role model for the rest
of the nation with his plan to fix our homeless problem. Now,
the price tag is approximately between seventy to one hundred
(00:24):
million dollars and the timeline, he says, it's going to
take some time to see significant change. Well, I love this.
The Texans, including owners Cal and Hannah McNair, they visited
fire Station thirty three yesterday and it was a salute
to service and first responders, and that is the theme
of the game Sunday against the Titans. Cow said, we
(00:47):
are incredibly grateful to all that our firefighters do. They
brought coffee and waterburger to the firefighters and then they
put on some firefighters suits and actually did some firefighting drills.
Its tough suits are super heavy, right, And so is
it going to be hot or cold on Thanksgiving Day
next Thursday, Well, it's gonna be both. Because this is Houston.
(01:08):
This is what happens. If you don't like the morning weather,
stick around because it'll change by afternoon. That's exactly what's
gonna happen. We're actually going to have possibly a record
breaking high on Monday of eighty five. It's going to
stay in the eighties. Thanksgiving morning will be warm, but
then the temperature starts dropping into the afternoon by nighttime
into the forties, and then your Black Friday is going
(01:31):
to be cold. High's only sixty three with low's back
down into the forties. So gives you an idea of
what to pack for if you're traveling around Houston on
Thanksgiving Today, beautiful, really perfect sunny. We're gonna go up
to seventy three. Right now it's forty eight and uptown
and you're up to date on Sunday, tell me something
good brought to a friends at Goodwill Houston. We have
(01:52):
been celebrating Santa's favorite winter Wonderland and where Santa gets
all his decorations and then brings them back to the
North Pole craft deck. It's an amazing place. Honestly, our
winner yesterday Sean, He's like, my wife is obsessed with this,
and then Sean went with her one time He's like,
Oh my gosh, it's unbelievable. Realize and it is true,
(02:13):
and I love that they are teaming up with one
of my favorite organizations, the Star of Hope. Yep, you
can go there any time you want, but make sure
you're definitely there with your kids December fourteenth at Craft
Decks because Santa will be there. He's going to be
there nine to eleven and then I get it one
to three and you can take pictures with Santa and
(02:37):
the decorations will be phenomenal. You know, be sure to
bring an unwrapped toy or a bunch of them for
the kids at the Star of Hope so they can
have a bright, beautiful Christmas too. Oh, and furry friends
are invited to again. It's Craft Decks December fourteenth. Santa,
I know him will be there and it will all
benefit The Star of Hope. Producer Anthony Dane This, that's
(03:00):
so cool. There's a couple of twin sisters helping to
keep Houston safe. It's Holly and Valerie Garcia. They both
serve as officers at the South Kesterner Station, patrolling the
streets together and it's a cool story. They've supported each
other from childhood through the police academy.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Now they both work the same shift. Both of course
super passionate about the community. They often take on overtime
with the Crime Suppression Team, training to help capture some
of Houston's most dangerous criminals, like capital murder and robbery
suspects Dean. They're only twenty five years old too, but
they both knew even if the job isn't easy, they've
got each other's back every step of the way. And
Officer Valerie says they wanted to serve because of their mom.
(03:36):
They say, if you've got a dream, make it happen.
We made it happen.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
They say.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
They both hope to end up in the mental health
sector of HBD, which is so cool. Big ups to
twins Holly and Valerie Garcia helping keep h town safe.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
What beautiful. I love that.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
That is a great story. Oh and Rodeo release. Yes,
the twenty twenty five concert Genre calendar is out. Opening
and closing days which, by the way, March fourth through
the twenty third. Opening and closing days will be country artists,
two nights of pop, two nights of regional Mexican artist,
one night rock. There's gonna be R and B and

the big announcement ISA and tickets will go on sale
a week later, and you know we will have a
boatload of rodeos.
Speaker 2 (04:30):

That's right now. If you want to find our tell
me something good stories, we always have them up for
you at Sunday ninety nine dot com. You can also
follow us on Facebook, ex Twitter, and TikTok. At Sunday
ninety nine Houston Sunday ninety nine point one, Houston's holiday
music station, Dana in the Morning and producer Anthony talking
about a feel good experience I had yesterday. It just
(04:52):
blew my mind listening to Michael Berry's special show yesterday
talking about whether you've been adopted, maybe you adopted kids.
He I wanted to highlight the whole process. It's National
Adoption Month. The show was spectacular. He took a break
and then started to just talk about our boss here.
He is the programmer extraordinary Mark Sherman, who was in
a just a terrible car wreck up in Dallas, hit
(05:14):
by an eighteen wheeler hit and run, smashed his clavigal,
had unbelievable surgery yesterday. He is doing phenomenal prayers answered.
And as Michael's talking about Mark Sherman, he mentioned, you know, Mark,
before he became a superstar program director, was on a
little bitty show called Sunday ninety nine point one. O
you co hosting with this lady, Dana Tyson. And I'm like, wait,
(05:39):
what you think you're invisible until you hear Michael Berry
talk about you on his massive radio show.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Some of you will remember Mark Sherman from back in
the day when he was a mere mortal. He was
the co host on Sunday ninety nine point one for
many years with Dana Tyson. And he went was that
she threw a chair at him. That's true, she did
throw a chair.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I never did.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
That's a hot woman. I really don't think we're talk
enough about how hot Danitising is. She's a workout buff.
She also does something that nobody else in radio does.
She dresses up. She'd come and she'd be wearing I
don't you call them they're not high heels. They're like shoes,
very sexy. So the end of the toe is exposed,
but there's like a strap over the main part of
(06:24):
the shoe, and then the heel is exposed, very sexy,
and they kind of not so much. It's a heel,
but it's a thicker heel, so it's kind of more
European stylish kind of thing. You should be wearing that
and jeans and some top and have all her makeup on,
her hair perfectly done, and she's the only one in
the building that you know. We're in radio, but she
might leave there and then go do a TV hit.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Wow, dang, I'm driving along going to it, right is
he talking about ye? Was he really looking at me?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Anyway?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
It was just my feel good moment, you think, and
you don't realize that that people know notice you, the
effect you could have on people. Yes, So never you're invisible,
you know, do you just be you? You be the
best you you can be, and who knows, maybe Michael
Berry will give you a shout out on his show.
I just loved it, So Michael, thank you, and more importantly,
(07:16):
thank god that Mark Sherman is doing so good. Yeah,
that's our our feel bad makes us feel good the day,
sunny point
Speaker 2 (07:23):
One Dana in the morning,
