Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sunday nighty nine point one day and with producer Anthony
and we are Houston's holiday music station with the three
things you need to know to get your Monday. December
First started December First. We've got some new laws and
effect for December, including the replacement of the Star test
and the availability of Ivermectin without a prescription now next

(00:23):
month in January, app store owners will be required to
verify ages and get parents permission before allowing miners to
download any apps. And today is Cyber Monday. What are
we spending like so far? While we had Black Friday,
Small business Saturday, today Cyber Monday. Don't forget tomorrow's Giving Tuesday.

(00:43):
You've got to save some of that money. Beyond expectations,
experts are saying both in store and online sales rising
on average four percent from last year. Online sales have
searched ten percent, so incredible. And c J. Stroud finished
his concussion protocol, took to the field with the Texans
yesterday in Indianapolis. He was a bit rusty, but they

(01:04):
still won twenty to sixteen. And your weather today lots
of rain, cold, blustery. It's going to only go up
to fifty right now forty five in Uptown, and you're
up to date on sunny ninety nine point one. Tell
me something good brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston and at New Caney High School. Senior. It's

(01:24):
back to school, by the way, and so focus is
key today after so much fun with our family and
eating all that amazing food, so let's focus on Jayden Foster.
He is driven, excelling in both football and he's the
lead drum major in the school band. Jaden starts on
the school's defensive line. When halftime arrives, though, he heads

(01:46):
to the podium heading the marching band or leading the
band as head drum major. Now, the band director David
Densmore said, no, this has never happened before. It's a
huge time commitment. Jayden even thought about football just to
focus on being a drum major. But the teachers, the coaches,
everyone worked with him to make the schedule work. And

(02:06):
he's definitely an inspiration because with help from parents, teachers,
and coaches, he's letting both his passions shape his high schools.
That's amazing. I mean, Anthony, you were in the band,
you know the time commitment. Imagine playing football as well,
and then we run over and do the band stuff
exactly exactly, So Jayden, keep up the great work. You are,
in fact an inspiration producer Anthony Dane.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and our friends over at Goodwill
Houston are reminding us all that giving goes beyond a
single act.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
It creates opportunity.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
When you donate new and gently used items or make
a financial gift to Goodwill Houston, you're helping provide career pathway, training, education,
and career services that empower people across our community to
build brighter futures. A single donation can make a real
difference to a coat that funds a class, a lamp
that supports job placement, or a small gift that helps
someone take their first step towards stability and independence. You

(02:55):
can help them with their mission of changing lives through
the power of work and turning giving into opportunity. Find
out moreover at Goodwill Houston dot org, forward slash Giving Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
And then there's this now. I posted this video first
thing this morning up on Instagram. It was the most
magical lit up area. It was outside of church in
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma that we took the kids to it
was unbelievable and I just started thinking. But we've got
amazing Christmas lights and displays here in Houston as well,

(03:25):
like the two million lights out at Moody Gardens, the
Arctic Slide, the new live show with aerialists and fire dancers,
they've never had that before. And Anthony, They've even got
the Moody Gardens Live Iceland webcam where you can watch
the sculptures in real time. That's unbelievable, so much fun

(03:46):
right here in Houston. You can go to visit Dalveston
dot com and for our feel good stories each weekday
mornings set a preset on the new and improved iHeartRadio
app to Sunny Natty nine point one Sunday naty nine
plenty one, Houston's holiday music station. I'm Dana with producer Anthony,
and it is a baby it's cold outside kind of day, Anthony,

(04:08):
It really is. Yeah, man, this weather's crazy. We've got rain,
We've got colder temperatures like twenty degrees colder than normal.
We're gonna only go up to fifty if we even
make it. Right now, it's forty five in Uptown. What
a way to kick off December. We had all this heat.
Now it's cold, and it is time to talk about
a very special day, Cyber Monday, which I began at

(04:31):
two thirty eight this morning. Of course did I ordered
a Queason Art set for my daughter cookware she wanted.
She well, she wanted non stick, but I'm always really
afraid of the chemicals. The last nonstick cookwaar that I
got for her that she wanted. I spent a lot
of money on it. It's ruined. I mean, I'm like,
what happened? This is just terrible. I use Queason Art.

(04:54):
I love it so much. It's stainless steel, so yes,
you have to scrub it, but at least you can
clean it and you're not scrubbing off chemicals. So I
got it for like one hundred and twenty dollars for
this entire set for the set. But now I get
it before work, got it so early this Morning's okay.
So the dilemma is, how are we juggling work with

(05:14):
Cyber Monday, especially because it's not a holiday. Especially if
I'm getting ping Dane with these deals.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
If you go to Amazon right now day up to
forty five percent off on some of these things. It's
just that and that's all categories too, like tech, home, beauty, any.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Of this stuff. So there's an excuse you name it. Literally,
I texted my daughter in law and I was like, Justine,
you know it's cyber Monday to day, I'm at work,
what can I get for you? And she literally just
texted back, thanks, Gigi. I'm good on clothes. I just
wear wear these really comfy pants and juicy days. But
you know what, I've been eyeing this little espresso pot.
It's the ley alley On stovetop espresso maker on Amazon.

(05:53):
Let me click on it, and she gave you her wishes.
Oh yeah, yeah, I got it. So it is well.
This six oh it's twenty sent off thirty six dollars
is a thirty six dollars espressopen, done, act excited when
you get it for Christmas? Excited, so many great things.
How are you guys juggling your work and your Christmas shopping?

(06:14):
For real? Though? It would be nice to have it
all done by Clothes of business, Yes, it would really right.
Let us know what you're doing on this cyber Monday
and seven one ninety nine one Sunday ninety nine, Plate one,
Houston's holiday music station it's a cold, wintery day to
day where we've got to sixty percent chance of rain,
we're only going to go up to fifty. Right now,

(06:36):
it's forty five in Uptown and we're talking about juggling
Cyber Monday shopping with work job? How do we even
do that? Right? And we've got a teacher out in Cyprus, Catherine,
Now you're back to school today. How are you guys
going to be juggling you know, the kids and their
lessons and you're shopping? Oh, lots of recess. Probably recess.

(07:00):
I love it because there are so many great deals.
And we did a story in the news that people
are really gonna they're just going crazy shopping this year,
beyond the experts expectations. Online sales surging ten percent. Is
that how you're gonna do most of your Christmas shopping online? Unfortunately? Yes,
I've spend more money that way too, I know, but

(07:21):
it is so much more convenient, right it is, And
it's fun. It is fun. It's too fun. So do
you plan on having all your Christmas shopping done today
by the end of business today? Oh? Goodness, probably not,
but that would be ideal, that'd be great. Well, I
guess you know that. The students, I know you love them,

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
