Speaker 6 (01:53):
Morning, everybody. This is that's the bottom line. I'm your host,
Jeff Lewis of Asset Growth Associates, along with Gene Ballerani.
Thanks for spinning part of your weekend with us. Our
top line story this week, the Democrats swept the off
your elections on Tuesday. Today, we're going to talk about
what that means and what it doesn't mean. We'll start
(02:16):
with a sample from the election night speeches.
Speaker 7 (02:20):
Wow. They always say we're loud, but man.
Speaker 8 (02:25):
With this vote, you guys just screamed from the rooftime.
Speaker 7 (02:32):
My fellow Virginians, tonight we sent a message.
Speaker 9 (02:48):
The sun may have set over our city this evening,
but as Eugene Debs once said, I.
Speaker 10 (03:00):
Can see down a better day for junility.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
The evening started with a big win by Abigail Spamberger
in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She won by over fourteen points,
and I have to say I missed my projection on
this one by almost ten. She pretty much ran to
the table in every area possible. Virginia voters came in
with a fifty seven percent approval rating of Glenn Youngkin
(03:27):
according to the exit surveys, but Abigail Spamberger wins by
fourteen Why. Part of it is because of the government shutdown,
and that also carried over into the other races as well.
The shutdown is not popular for a lot of reasons,
and in Virginia they're more likely to blame Republicans than
the are Democrats. Now, this had a down blow effect
(03:51):
as well, because Jay Jones won by almost six percent,
a race that I thought to the Republican Mires would actually
hold on to his seat by just a couple of points.
Jones did run about ten points behind Spamberger, but it
wasn't enough. And unfortunately, you're seeing a very very radical
(04:11):
person take in the attorney generalship in Virginia. That could
be problematic down on the road, but for now it
just sounds bad. I mean, a guy that talks about
killing his political opponents and voters put him in by
seven points. That's ridiculous, but Virginia is what Virginia is.
(04:33):
It's no longer for lovers now. It's also possible that
Earl Sears, the Republican nominee for governor and the race
and the current lieutenant governor. For some reason, the popular
policies by Glenn Youngkin did not carry over to her.
It may be that she's simply not as charismatic her.
Maybe there's some other baggage related to that. We don't know.
(04:56):
I mean, if there were parties were reversed mean and
were would be crying that, oh, the voters are racist. Okay,
we're not going to do that here, but it does
make it begg question why did Earl Sears perform so badly?
A lot of it's going to be momentum. We talk
about what's going on in New Jersey. For example, New
Jersey was a state that Trump only lost by six
(05:17):
points at this time back in twenty four and we
thought maybe this time around that the race to be
closer in backs. Polls showed it a dead heat in
New Jersey. But as Mikey Cheryl says right here, I'm
going to remind you guys.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
That New Jersey is not a red state. New Jersey's
not a purple state. New Jersey is a blue state.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
Mikey Cheryl, the governor elect in New Jersey, won her
race by thirteen points, so much for the talk about
New Jersey narrowing. Rather than get focused on a blue
governor winning in a blue state, let's get real. What's
going on in this is that we're dealing with such
(06:08):
a small sample size of the electorate because off your
elections just don't really turn out that much. Even mid
term performances don't mirror that of what we see in
general elections every four years, and these off your elections
are even less turnout than the midterms. So if you
look at the breakdown of it in New Jersey, Hispanic
(06:29):
voters swung back to Democrats too. One that's problematic if
that's the trend. I don't think it is, because the
turnout is going to be the most core, diehard supporters
of either party. The middle doesn't show up. You're just
dealing with a smaller centle of the electric and the
electric is so totally different it's impossible to get a
(06:50):
good feedback on what's going to happen and say next
year in the midterms. What this election doesn't mean. It's
not a repudiation of Trump. Now it may look like that,
but in reality, again you're dealing with the core supporters
of either side, and in these states Virginia and New Jersey.
They're simply far more voter registration for the Democrats than
(07:13):
to are Republicans now, so it's not a predictor of
the upcoming mid terms, and it's not a blue wave.
Some of the ridiculousness I saw included Democrats claiming they
flipped Georgia and Mississippi. Even Georgia was a utility district race,
a commissioner race that had absolutely no bearing on anything,
so Democrats won it big deal. In Mississippi, their state
(07:38):
House super majority was broken up in a redrawn district,
a court ordered mandated district that reframed the district to
be slightly majority Democrat, and as a result, a Democrat
won with fifty three percent of the vote. That's not
a wave election. Republicans still won where they were expected to.
(07:58):
There were elections in Florida. Republicans won both of those
because again they were read districts. So what happened was
everything held pace. There were no surprises on Tuesday, the
surprise that we were expecting one, because there generally is,
I guess the biggest surprise was the Virginia race, where
(08:21):
the attorney general race for the Democrat that we expected
to probably flip because he was so disqualifying. He still
won and won soltly. So it wasn't the results that
were surprising. It was the margins. Democrats won larger than expected,
and that could be problematic next year if Republican voters
(08:43):
don't turn out the way they did at this time around.
This is what Speaker Johnson had to say.
Speaker 11 (08:49):
Well, we're very bullish about the midterms. I wouldn't read
too much into last night. Special elections and off years
are always sort of anomalies. They don't pretend what happens
in the future. No big surprises last night. I mean,
obviously we predicted all of this. You could say there
was a slight surprise, I think in the AG's race
in Virginia because mister Jones had such incredible things that
(09:11):
he said and fantasized about his political opponents. But look,
in the end, blue states voted blue.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
Speaker Johnson sounds optimistic, and he's supposed to be. That's
his job. But let's be honest about what this election
does mean. Democrats outperformed, Republicans underperformed, and if that trink continues,
Republicans aren't just going to lose the House. Next year,
Democrats may have a chance to retake the Senate despite
(09:37):
the map, because you could see states like Ohio and
even Texas come into play. Ohio involves a very tight
race involving shared brown re entering to Frey. Republicans have
to realize that Hispanic voters are on loan and we
won't win without them, because otherwise it's going to be
a very tough battle to retake the House. We'll be
(10:00):
right back after this.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
We're just trying to turn a neckel into a dime.

We're just prime to.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Turn an aplent to what dime that's the bottom line.
Speaker 6 (14:18):
We're back with. That's the bottom line. I'm Jeff Lewis.
The one race we hadn't talked about yet was the
New York mayor race, with so Rammondani pulling off a
major win in that race over Andrew Cuomo. So I
want to take this next segment as an opportunity to
talk about a success story, the socialist success story. We're
(14:40):
going to highlight the examples of where socialism in all
of its forms, Marxism, Leninism, Stalinism, Nazism, maloism, democratic socialism,
where these policies have prevailed and made lies better for
its people. So here you go a comprehensive list of
(15:01):
everywhere socialism has succeeded. And that's it. We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
We're just trying to turn a nekel into a dime.
That's the bottom line.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
At Asset Growth Associates Wealth Advisors, we believe that smarter

modeling that's second to none. Whether you're looking to grow
your income, protect your principle, or make sense of the markets,
this dashboard helps us do more for you. And let
me take a moment to speak about what I consider
the most powerful ability of the Achieving Alpha platform, the
(16:06):
risk return advantage. Are you being rewarded for the risk
in your investments? Too often investors build portfolios that look
strong on paper, but the numbers tell a different story.
High volatility, concentrated holdings, and limited upside can leave you
exposed taking too much risk with too little reward to
show for it. That's where Asset Growth Associates and its
(16:29):
proprietary Achieving Alpha platform comes in introducing the risk return advantage.
Risk return Advantage evaluates your holdings in real time and
then compares it to your portfolio's actual return potential. We
don't just show you the problem, we highlight solutions. By
reallocating into a smarter, achieving Alpha portfolio, you'll see how

Speaker 2 (17:23):
We're just trying to turn ankel into a dime. That's
the bottom line.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
We're back once again on that's the bottom line. I'm
Jeff Lewis. So we're going to give you a bonus
segment today because that last one was obviously going to
be short. But what did you expect? Socialist policies have
failed literally everywhere they'd been tried. But apparently New York
City is doomed to go down this path because that's
(17:50):
what democrats want. This is what they believe in. Check
out this new stat.
Speaker 12 (17:54):
Here's something interesting Gallup has got out there. When you
ask democrats what they view positively and knowing what Momdanni's
policy platforms are, sixty six percent of them have a
positive view of socialism. Just forty two percent have a
positive view of capitalism.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
Z Ramandni's victory on Tuesday, all Wight's a brand new
era of democratic politics. Here he is in his victory
speech on Tuesday.
Speaker 9 (18:18):
The conventional wisdom would tell you that I am far
from the perfect candidate. I am young, despite my best
efforts to grow older. I am Muslim, I am a
democratic socialist, and most damning of all, I refuse to
(18:44):
apologize for any of them.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
Yes, he's very unapologetic. In fact, he took a tone
in his victory speech that hasn't been heard in politics
in a very long time.
Speaker 9 (18:54):
My friends, we have toppled a political dynasty. I wish
Andrew Cuomo only the best in private life, but let
tonight be the final time I utter his name.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
His arrogant tone did not strike record among even Democratic listeners.
Here's Van Jones speaking about it.
Speaker 13 (19:19):
That speech appeal to some, but I think he missed
an opportunity. I think the Mom Donnie that we saw
in the campaign trail, who was a lot more calm,
who was a lot warmer, who was a lot more embracing,
was not present in that speech. And I think that
Mom Donnie is the one you need to hear from tonight.
(19:40):
There are a lot of people trying to figure out
can I get on this train with him or not?
Is he going to include me? Is is he going
to be more of a class warrior even in office.
I think he missed a cance tonight to open up
and bring more people into the tent. I think its
tone was sharp. I think he was using the microphone
(20:01):
in a way that he was almost yelling. And that's
not the mom Donnie that we've seen on TikTok and
the great interviews and stuff like that. So I felt
like it was a little bit of a character switch here.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
But Democrats are betting big that man Donnie is the
feature of the party. Here's AOC speaking about his victory.
Speaker 14 (20:19):
Well, what I think is so impressive about what Zohran
Mamdani accomplished tonight, as well as the entire movement of
New Yorkers that came out to vote for him, is
that he had to not just defeat a Republican. He
had to defeat a Republican and the old guard of
the Democratic Party at the same time. He was fighting
a war on two fronts and not just one. And
(20:40):
he's still one resounding way. And I think the message
that that sends is that the Democratic Party cannot last
much longer by denying the future, by trying to undercut
our young, by trying to undercut a next generation of
diverse and upcome the main Democrats that have the parties,
(21:03):
the actual party that are actual electorate and voters support.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
But Republicans embrace the opportunity for contrast. Trust me, this
is a politicy debate. We're it in a half here,
Speaker Johnson.
Speaker 11 (21:16):
What's going to happen is the reason I'm optimistic is
they've handed the keys to the kingdom to the Marxists
and he will destroy it. Socialism never leads to lower
prices in better living. It leads to human misery every
single time in history that it's been attempted. And it
won't take long for that to happen in New York City.
So we will have yet another example of the failed
(21:36):
philosophy that draws everybody back to what we stand for,
and that's the founding principles of the country. Individual freedom,
limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, discrresponsibility,
free markets, human dignity. The way to have human flourishing
is to have a democratic form of capitalism. Capitalism is
the thing that makes all boats rise, not government control.
(21:57):
And we're going to have a great example to point
to a New York City. Is the months ahead of
us unfold.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
When we return. It's Gene Valerani's dirty little secret. Stay
with us.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
We're just trying to turn a nickel into a dime.
That's the bottom line. We're just trying to turn a
nickel into a dime. That's the bottom line.
Speaker 15 (22:22):
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen you're listening to that's the
bottom line. Your weekly radio broadcast on KLVI that tells
it like it is. This is Gene Valerani reporting and
now it's that part of the show where we like
to share our ideas and a little editorial comment. Is
(22:42):
most of the press an enemy of freedom. Freedom of
the press is sacked for saint under the US Constitution,
and it must be free to tell the truth. We
should endorse this freedom and always protect it. But unfortunately
today's news media, except for few outlets, it's a servant
(23:06):
of left wing propaganda and mostly an ally of left
wing like when it should be being a watchdog for
the people of the United States and instead they're pushing
the propaganda instead of being our watchdog like they were
intended to be. There are a few news outlets that
(23:28):
seek truth, and they seek it for the sake of justice.
But they are there aren't very many of them. That's
the problem. The truth is the truth, no matter matter
what someone claims, is the truth. I hope I'm making
that clear enough. Day doesn't go by without the media
(23:50):
leaning to left wing anti American politics, and they do so.
They do it presumably because they have the right to,
and seldom are called out on it, unless, of course,
it destroys the politician they're criticizing. For reasons unknown to
most of us. We have to adjure the half truths
(24:14):
of the wrong party. Right now, the media wants to
try and destroy President Trump. Any news story that is
usually critical and condescending of a Republican politician. Why they're
all for that, aren't they. Most of the public, unfortunately,
only reacts to criticism of a single person when that
(24:37):
person is caught red handed doing something wrong. And even then,
the news media ignores their duty to report all the
facts they have gathered, and when the facts are clearly
looked at, they'll publish a retraction on a back page somewhere,
but only as enough time passes and they w themselves
(25:01):
one of their own trophies. That's what they do. You know,
they'll print an excellent trophy, take a take it back
a few months later, but then give themselves a gold
star for having reported it in the first place. Right now,
the US media leans so far to the left it
(25:24):
has little to write about. It is always ready and
eager to kiss some that cat politician that say, oh
left wing, that cat politician on his or herd out
you know where, right right before printing truth. They just
don't they're allergic to it. I guess this sipe of
(25:48):
news media has no place in the modern world. How
often have you watched a news story where rioters are
burning down the city, and even with fire burning before
the reporters in full focus, have heard the reporter refer
to the crowd doing so doing the destruction as it's
(26:12):
a peaceful demonstration. When you see them burning down the
houses or burning down businesses in the background. You know,
we Americans are supposed to be a free people who
ferries our past. We make sure our children are rased
correctly and taught the right the right thing, right from wrong.
(26:34):
Whatever happened to that way of life. That's what I
want to know, because they don't do that very much anymore.
Pretty hard to find nowadays. I guess when we hear
things like it goes in one ear and out the other,
I guess it has merit to it now said, But
unfortunately we live in a world of shadows where too
(26:56):
many of us don't practice the golden rule. Oh, we've
been taught right growing up, but we ignore the peril
of losing it. The problem begins with society as a whole,
initially in our homes and schools, and with the world
at large. The news media nowadays picks and chooses which
(27:17):
stories to bring to the public and slants much of
it to its reporting of politics and crime. The business
of closing down the government and denying people their wages.
Seems very wrong with a Democrat politician investigating sitment when
(27:38):
they sit back and collect a paycheck for doing nothing
and acting like they're representing their constituents. But they're not.
Because that's a lot of lonely, isn't it. It's a
lot of lonely if I've ever heard it. They're building
a wall around themselves and trying to convince the American
people doing it for the good of the country. They
(28:02):
better never be given the power in the future because
we can see where it leads them. Don't forget. They're
up there in DC right now dragging how much good
they're doing while government workers go without paychecks. Now, how
would you like to be in that position? Oh, they'll
(28:23):
get their back pay, but they're going to take their
good old time in paying those folks. It's a stunt
that Democrats are doing to punish working Americans. And to
be able to send your tax dollars to illegals, they
should donate their paychecks too for foreign aid. And right,
(28:44):
I mean, if they're going to send your money, says
he said, illegals, I wonder why they don't send their
money to the illegals if that's what they feel so
good about it. After all, they represent foreign illegals more
then they are American constituents. At least that's the way
(29:05):
I see it. We'll be back before after this Messach,
don't go away.
