Speaker 1 (00:33):
What's Up? And welcome back to thirteen thirty one. I'm
your host, mister Ripper, and as always, I have my
lovely co host here with me, the one the only
toid of Thunder, Hey, what's up? And the mistress of
the Monsters Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Hey, my little monsters.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
And we're back with not another movie review, but yet
got some horror news, so we're gonna be doing some
horror talk here.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
So it's been a minute.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
It's been a minute. We've kind of let the news
build up. It's not really been anything worth you know,
it was Cray. But now we've got some stuff that
I think that is worth talking about. So miss Lana,
what do you have for us?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Well, one of the things that I'm pretty excited about,
and I think you two will be as well, is
the new slasher that they've announced called Sweetest Day.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Sweetest Day, Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Which if you don't know, because I had never heard
of that, it honestly sounds like Valentine's Day in October
basically because it's usually the is it the.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Third weekend in October? I have no idea third Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
So it's the third Saturday in October, and it's a
romantic holiday showing romantic deeds and expressions as well as
acts of charity and kindness, so basically Valentine's.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Day in October.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Interesting. I've never known about those, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
But what I'm excited about with it is that we
have Catherine corkeran from Terrifier. Oh, we have Kelly Morony
from Chopping mall oh, damn, and Russell Todd from Friday
the Thirteenth Part two.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
No shit, m h. That's a pretty good cast. I'm
pretty down for that. That's pretty interesting me too.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I haven't seen the trailer.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
I do find it interesting, Like in my mind, I
am picturing kind of Valentine's Day, and we did have
Hard Eyes this year, which was also a slasher.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
So we'll see. We'll see how it goes.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Bring it on.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I don't know if there's a trailer out yet. I
haven't seen one, and there's not a release date. I'm
just assuming it just kind of makes sense that it's
going to be in October.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
That's fair.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
We also have the remake for Silent Night, Deadly Night
do Tail. That one also does not have a release date.
They're just kind of saying it's hopefully going to be
the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
But it is more than likely.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Right again, also just kind of makes sense, right, Yeah,
but this was something that was being talked about a
few years ago but they dropped it, but Cinaverse picked
it up. Who was behind Terrifier?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, because originally it was by the people oh god,
what was the original people.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
By Studios and Black Hanger Studios.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, but they put out a really shitty.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Movie Jeps Creepers were Born.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
That's it. Holy shit. I'm so glad they're not behind it.
So that was a happy little Yes, that was a
good change.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
But in that one, we have Rowan Campbell from Halloween Inns.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Who plays Corey, yep, mister Corey.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
And they recently announced that Ruby Modine is going to
be in it, which we know her from a few things.
She's in Happy Death Day, Happy Death Day to You, Satanic,
Panic in Fear, and I know her also from Shameless.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Who is the guy from Halloween gonna be playing Billy Chapman? Nice?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, I actually can.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
See that he's going to be the killer. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, he's the guy that dressers are still going to
call some think.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I think he's gonna be good for that role. I
can see. I can see him nailing that role.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yeah, I mean, I'm certainly fine with him being this
character rather than fucking Michael Myers.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
You know, I know a lot of people are sick
of remakes, but I mean, if it's if it's good,
it's good. I just hope it's. Well.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
You better get used to it, because we got some
more news.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Well, thunder, what news do you have?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
There is a remake and uh did you know the
remake and Killer Clowns from outer Space.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I've heard about this and I heard who might be
directing it or producing it.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yes, so Ryan Gosling has come on board to produce,
I believe produce. I'm pretty sure it was produced. It's
for Amazon MGM Studios.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
So is this going to be like a straight to
like Amazon streaming service.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Was in the early stages of talk. So it's not
really it's not really anything like significant coming out, just
the fact that his name has been associated with it.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I don't know how I feel about this.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
It's well, if you think about it, Ryan Gosling as
a producer means he's kind of investing in this, which
means he had to been a fan.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Gotta be you got to be a fan of Killer
Clowns in order to invest in it.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, and that's just the last name I would have
ever guessed if you told me to start guessing.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Well, I didn't know Ryan Gosling was a freaking producer
to begin with. But I reckon, once you reach a
certain level of financial yeah, financial fatness, you can you know,
maybe get that Matt Damon type of you know.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Producing credit.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Anyway, speaking of remakes, so you know, for so long
America has taken films from overseas and read made them
in American, in American, in English.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
They have taken and made American versions of foreign films.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah, well apparently it's the opposite way now because last
year I didn't know this, but there was a Chinese
remake of Andakanda, And this year they plan on making
a Chinese remake to the twenty sixteen film The Shallows
(06:48):
about the Shark. Well, okay, that's so weird. So we're
getting Asian remakes of American films.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Now, I wonder if we're going to get a Fried
the Thirteenth movie.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Well, I have seen the Indian version of a Nightmare
on Elm Street.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Oh my god, me too. Is it's almost like Michael
Jackson Thriller Indian Bad. Yeah, if you didn't know that,
there is a Michael Jackson Indian thriller version ripoff, I
think I am not joking. It is on the YouTube.
(07:26):
Type in Michael Jackson Thriller Indian and enjoy the chaos.
Don't say I didn't mourn you it's bad, but just saying.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Well, coming from Empire Studios. On the trend of this
whole Mickey Mouse Disney type of deal, we have a
movie coming out called a Laddin the Monkey's Paul.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
I just saw that today.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Apparently it's gonna start filming next month, and it's supposed
to be a darker, natural reimaging of the Aladdin story.
And from what I read, it's Aladdin finds the lamp,
he rubs it, he gets the evil Genie, and every
time he makes a wish, it's a price to be paid.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
So we're getting the Indian version of wish Master. Well,
what is your wish?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
What is your wisha? But anyway, have you heard about this?
Have you heard about this one?
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Probably? Do you know the video game night Shift? Night Shift?
Uh sounds familiar.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Anyway, It was a game that came out a couple
of years ago. It is getting the movie treatment. And
the cool thing about this is this movie is going
to be shot on sixteen millimeter film to give it
a VHS style look.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Okay, intriguing, so you might add me at VHY, well,
you might want you might want to check out this
night Shift video game.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
They said it's it's pretty cool for fans of Resident
Evil type of Silent Hill horror type of things.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
So that is not the category I thought you was
going to say. I thought you was going to say
like five nights at Freddy's or something. Well, honestly, I
don't know. And sometimes when you read and you know something,
you go they are full of shit. But I don't know.
I can't call them on it, so I will have
to look this up being the video game guy, and
I will report back.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
Well, the studio behind the Godzilla films is investing. I
think I read where they're putting one point eight billion
dollars into Godzilla projects. But the thing that caught my
eye to write it down was it's going to include
a Godzilla minus one follow up, So be expecting a
(09:58):
lot of projects. I mean, like I said, they're putting
like one point eight billion dollars into Godzilla projects.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
I mean, Godzilla Minus one is the best Godzilla movie
of all time. I agree. I'm sorry to any Godzilla
fan out there if that offends you.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
It's probably the most emotional foreign film I've seen that one,
and Trained Busan is like right there, Busan, where I
legitimately was like, this foreign film is getting me emotional.
So I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it can live
up to the last one. And finally, if you listen
(10:39):
to our last podcast, we talked about the Woman in
the Yard, Well, I just want to say, Woman in
the Yard is now on Amazon prim Video and that's
all I.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Got to say about that one. At your own risk.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
So if you were intrigued by our last two podcasts,
you can check it out yourself.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Or don't. You could just listen to us. We're not
going to steer you wrong, but I'll dive into my news.
Speaking of Anda Conda's, we're getting an American remake of
and Conda's or and a Conda not and and Conda
And well, do you want to know who is going
(11:20):
to be starring?
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Who is it going to be starring?
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Ripper tell Us, Jack Black and Paul Rudd.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
What oh Jesus, so this is comedy.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Well. In an interview, Jack Black said that, yes, this
is going to be more heavily on the comedy, but
it's going to be a remake with the horror still
at heart.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
So how do y'all feel about that? I mean, the
original had you know, ice Cube and Jennifer.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Lopez and Eric Schultz and the fucking butler for Richie
rich I don't know his name, and Owen Wilson and
Angelina Jolie's dad, I can't remember his name, but he's
so much better than her as an actor. How do
you feel about this?
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I think it's very fun. I'm here for it.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
You sound devastated.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
I I'm not devastated. I mean personally for me, now
that I know what it is, and now that they've clarified,
I mean, all you have to do is look at
the cast to find out. But I appreciate the statement.
So if I know this going in, I can't be disappointed,
right right, And it's not like you know, I'm going
(12:39):
into it blind and we're leaving and I'm going God
damn it, that was too much comedy, Like Jack Black
is fucking in it. It's going to be a comedy.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
No matter.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I'm pretty excited because I am a Paul Rudd fan,
so I mean, and he can do serious and comedy
at the same time. Well, I don't know about the
same time, but he's done both. He's more diverse than
Jack black is. Yeah, speaking of diverse. Netflix love It,
(13:11):
hate it, hate it, love it. We pay way too
much for it is now cable but streaming. Well, they
are going to be remaking a famous Stephen King novel
slash movie. Any uh, any any guesses on what's what
(13:32):
you think? What is it? Lassie? Was it?
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Boy?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
It's Kujo? You know?
Speaker 4 (13:38):
I have thoughts about this. Well, let me know, Well,
just the concept, right, we're dog lovers. We have dogs
in our home and uh we're definitely you guys are
are dog parents.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I'm a parent slash Yeah, you're the funkal to the dogies.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
But I have also been dog parents in my past
as well. I don't know how well this movie is
gonna go over, And I don't think that a whole
lot of people is gonna take this the way that
they should, because I don't see in twenty twenty five
how that you can make a movie about a rabbit
dog and the dog be the villain because so many
people just fucking lose their shits over dogs. So I
(14:23):
don't know how this is gonna be taken by the public.
It was it was cool back in nineteen eighty three
when you had a rabbit fucking Saint Bernard fucking tearing
everybody up. It was truly terrifying. But yeah, nobody in
twenty twenty five goes, that's a horrible dog. Uh, They're
always gonna go that's a horrible fucking owner. So I
(14:44):
don't know how much sympathy people are gonna get being
torn apart by fucking dog.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I actually talked about this the other day with you
in the car because I forgot what we were like
what we were talking about to bring up Kujo, But you're.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Talking about horror movies if my mom.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, yeah, that's right, right. And I don't like watching
Kujo because I am a dog person, Like I think
I've watched Kujo maybe three times in my lifetime, maybe,
but I can't. I can't watch it. It hurts.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
And what was so shocking is when this is not
shocking that I have refused to watch it, but the
fact that my mom, who is not a horror movie fan,
has seen Kujo and I haven't.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
That's hilarious to me.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Yeah, and and and that's kind of my point. You know,
dog lovers, and we are dog lovers, and we love
our dogs and we love dogs in general, and a
lot of fucking people in the world are exactly like that.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
So you know what, I'm afraid. I'm afraid of what
type of dog they might put in it for modern
day Oh yeah, you know, you know, you know where
I'm going with this. I think they might go pit bull.
I will not watch it because it's not right because
we have a pit bull here in the house, and
we have a pit bull mix and they are the sweetest,
(16:05):
sweetest dogs, like the swiftest dogs, and they're not bread
for fighting. I'm just gonna go ahead and say this
on the podcast. They were bred to be what you
call a nanny dog. That was given to them because
they will look after a kid, the protectors. They're protectors,
they're lovers. They're not fighters. Well, I mean they'll fight
(16:26):
you if you fuck with you know, their baby. Other
than that, they're not bred for that. And I'm afraid
Kujo is gonna go that route. Now, if they want
to do a comedy route, I'm down for it. Give
me a chihuah wah.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Well, if they do go the pit bull route, I mean,
I've seen pit bulls be vicious. It's not their nature.
I want to point that out, but they're are pretty
goddamn scary when they get vicious. Though, But you have
to look at the concept of what Kujo is not
a movie about a dog that kills people. It's about
a dog who gets rabies and that makes him act
(17:05):
the way it is, right, It's not just a movie
about how vicious dogs is. So there's always like, you know,
the excuse or whatever. Yeah, with all that knowledge, I
still don't know how well this is gonna go over.
And I can just see the fucking headlines now, people
outraged about new dogs and you know, or Koujoe.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
In twenty twenty five, if this is a movie that
can be successful.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
But I mean I'm willing to give it a shot
if the people behind it are very passionate whatever. I
just oh man, it's just a really I mean, people
like get retarded when it comes to dogs, very retarded
speaking of retarded dogs. Netflix has also given the green
light to new live action Scooby Doo series. Uh yeah, buddy,
(18:02):
I don't know how this is gonna go new live
action Scooby Doo. Personally, I think you will get more
malage if you just make a new cartoon and give
it a platform like Netflix so it can get over.
Getting over is a wrestling term that means getting over
the people, getting over the crowd, being popular. Right, you
(18:25):
don't need to make a Scooby Doo. You know last
time they made Scooby Doo series, it's in the fucking
Witness Protection Program. You don't know where it's at. If
you had a giant platform like Netflix, everybody goes, oh shit,
the new Scooby Doo series is on Netflix. We can
easily watch it with a live action Holy shit, it
(18:45):
can be. I see this as being fucking corny.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
The only way I could see this being a success, like,
and I mean major success, is taking Freddie Prince Junior,
Matthew Lillard. Everybody shut up, let me explain. No, I'm
agreen with you, but they're just not going to do that.
(19:09):
Oh okay, I think you take that original cast as
them older, as parents and have their kids, and that's
the new mystery team. So you have kind of you
give the rubs so to speak, gradually, and you give
some background development, you know, make it story driven, you know,
(19:34):
give us the reason to care about these people. And
this also gives you a chance of Scooby Doo being
you know, a new father so to speak. You know,
something we've never seen. We've never seen Scooby Doo have
a kid. We've the smallest thing we've got was scrappy.
So it would be kind of cool to see, you know,
(19:56):
Scooby being a father. I think that would be like
a funny dynamic. That's how I would go about doing
a live action.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
I just hope they keep the spirit. I hope it's
not just a dog there that doesn't talk and.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Is just a dog. I hope they don't go like like.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
I'm this is one time where I like animate the dog.
I don't care if it looks animated because I love
the live action.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Scooby.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Yes, it's so goofy that it works right, you know
what I mean, Scooby, You don't he don't walk away
from that movie going well, that dog didn't look.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Real at all. Soups not how Scooby is supposed to look.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
But no, I know my son is a huge Scooby
Doo fan and he loves anything Scooby Doo. He even,
you know, as much as he probably did not want
to like it, he probably has kind of love for
that awful Velma show just because it's associated Bless his heart. Yeah,
(20:55):
so when it comes on, you know, he'll be the expert.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
We'll get his take on it. Yeah. Maybe, Speaking of takes, well,
take two for Megan to the extended trailers out now,
and it shows a new protagonist as the bad guy
and Meghan as the hero. So we have fucking ditch
(21:20):
that chucky concept and thrown it out the fucking window
because her dance is so fucking amazing and she I
guess she won the crowd over, so now she's a hero.
Uh you know, by the way, the first teaser was
just her dancing. We've seen that one, but the second one.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
To me, the only way, the only way that this
story is going to make sense is the fact that
she's AI and she can be programmed, but she wasn't
programmed to do what she did in the first movie
in the first place.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
No, from what I heard online and read both, is
that they have a new threat and they have to
seek out Meghan for help in this situation, like she's.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Just living in the woods like Terminator five.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
I guess what you're doing here. We need you to
dance in front of this new threat. No, I'm not
looking forward to Meghan too. I'm honest, honestly, the only
thing I'm looking forward to is shitting all over it.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
It's not it's definitely not gonna be Terminator to Judgment Day,
you know, and.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Oh, it's gonna be Judgment Day, but not like that well.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
You know, you know, going from like the first film
where the Terminator is the bad guy, and then the
second film he's the good guy, and you're like, how's
this gonna work? But then you watch Terminator two and
you're like, that was fucking awesome. I don't think this
is gonna get the same reaction speaking a bad guys.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Let's talk about black Phone two for a second, and
how I was fucking right anyway. News has broke out
about black Phone Too, and it says that black Phone two,
the grabber is going the route of Freddy. I fucking
told you, that's how they're gonna do Black Phone two.
(23:21):
They're going to supernatural route. They're going the supernatural route.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Well told you, fucking told you, told you, told you,
told you. Anyway, Yeah, I suggested on a couple podcasts ago,
many moons ago, that this would have worked very well
as a prequel and shown the grabber when he's actually
(23:45):
in his like worse mode, because the Black Phone kind
of picks it up after he's already kind of done
all of his damage and he's just has the reputation.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I thought it would till end.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Yeah, I thought it had been cool if we saw
it start off and build up to this horrible person.
But you know, it ended that apparently he was killed
in the Black Phone. So I guess, you know, spooky dreams.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
We'll see if it's gonna take the Freddy Krueger approach
or if it's going to be more of a I
don't know, haunting spirit kind of like I don't you know,
kind of like frighteners. Maybe.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Well, you know, the first Black Phone kind of had
that supernatural thing, because the whole idea of the Black
Phone is the victim in the basement was getting these
phone calls from past victims, right and that was the
supernatural element to it.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Well, we'll see. We're not sure exactly how it's going
to go, but it definitely has my interest in that.
Speaking of interest, we have two official announcements from Warner Brothers,
and that is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which is Beetlejuice three
and Grimlin's three are a official official official.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Well, my thoughts on that is Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice will
be very successful. I don't know if it'd be very good. Yeah,
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was not that great. We force ourselves to
want it to be great. I still, you know what,
I have went back and recently watched it because ever
(25:23):
since it's come on streaming and now that I know
what it is, I am totally fine with it and
I can watch it and have fun. But watching in
the theater was a disappointment.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
So yeah, Now, me being the Grimlins guy, I'm very concerned.
I'm I know that they're gonna go the practical approach
with the Grimlins. They've already announced that, but I don't
know what they're going to do. As far as the
(25:56):
story goes Billy, I'm gonna assume it's going to be
a father I don't know how they're going to tie
Gizmo back into it, or how they're going to bring
Gizmo back. I'm not exactly sure how that's gonna go,
but I imagine it's gonna be Billy's kid, and Billy's kid
(26:18):
has its own new version of Gizmo also, so it's
gonna be a parenting thing. I think it's gonna go
that route, and then somehow chaos is going to ensue.
I don't know if they're going to go Christmas route.
I don't know if they're going to just you know,
have it, you know, be on a regular day, or
(26:41):
if it's going to be a holiday theme or not.
I don't know if it's going to add to it.
Me personally, I don't think I would like another Grimlins
holiday movie. You know, part two. It just took place
in New York. I mean, it is what it is.
I assume it's going to go back. I'm just assuming
(27:04):
Billy kind of moves back, is what I'm seeing that
they do, and that's where this whole dynamic chaos is
going to re ensue.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Yeah, but I don't think you're going to have anything
to worry about the actual Grimlins or Gizmo. I think
what's going to make or break this movie for you
personally is going to be the live action cast.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Yeah. I'm afraid of who they are going to cast
in this movie. Yeah, and I might be wrong. They
might not even tie it to Grimlins, like, yeah, it
might just be Grimlins.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
Three.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
You know, Gizmo is the only original character and it's
all you know, new, like somebody just discovers Gizmo.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Yeah, well, you know, the original Grimlins kind of popped
out of Gizmo. So yeah, you only need him to
start off with.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Right, Yeah, I mean you don't really need Billy or
anything like that. But you know, shit in the window.
I don't know. But one thing I do know is
that we have more fucking scream news. Well, we officially
know that General Ortega quit because they fired Melissa Brera. Yeah,
(28:20):
she openedly said that you know, she lied and said
she had contractoral obligesh Holmes, which was a fucking lie,
which we said was a fucking lie. Uh Well, Also,
the director Christopher Landen said that the reason why he
(28:42):
quit Scream seven is because of all the crazy ass
fans of Scream giving him death threats for firing Melissa Barera.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Yeah, and without getting into the reasons or the political
aspect of it, we have stated here and time again
that Melissa has impressed us with other projects, but Scream
wasn't one of them. I think we've established that she
was good in Your Monster.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, and I.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Believe that we all agree that Jenno o'tega is a
wonderful young actress, and she usually is pretty good in
anything that she does. But I feel like this franchise
will not hurt without her, and I don't think her
career will hurt without it. So them parting ways is fine.
(29:32):
As far as the director and the writing team not
coming back as well, I'm fine with that because I
thought Scream seven was the shits, or excuse me, Scream
six was the shits.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I want.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
I want somebody to come into this franchise that will
kind of bring it back. And as far as all
the announcements so far, that looks like what we're gonna get,
because it looks like a lot of familiar names.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Right, We're losing a couple of people, but are bringing
some of.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
The OG's back.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Dude, Jenna Otega will be a scream queen of some
other franchise.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
From now.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
She's only in her early twenties. I mean, Jesus Christ,
give me what we want. I'm fine with these I'm
fine with giving me I'm fine with this fucking new generation. Uh,
let them go and create their own franchise. Agreed, Leave
(30:40):
our shit alone. And you're the people that give the
green light. Please please just give us what we want.
And that is the original cast. And even if you
gotta fucking do flashbacks, just get just get somebody in
there we like.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Well, they announced a couple of names.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Yeah, I mean interesting. We pretty much have the almost
the entire original cast. We've got Nev of course, Matthew Lillard.
How do you say skis last name?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Rich, You're rich, You're rich, You're you you rich, ske
You're it.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
We have Courtney Cocks. Ethan Embrey is in this one.
David Arquette is going to be there somehow. Like I'm
just racking my brain of how they're bringing some of
these characters back, but I'm happy about stressed.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
It's important someone to talk today.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Three numbers made a difference probably suicide your life for seven,
someone who's they listen to me.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
And support me. Three numbers, help me trying the help
I need to crisis twenty four to seven. I'm wondering,
wondering if they're going to include Scream five and six.
(32:16):
I'm wondering if they're going to kind of do like Halloween.
Well haven't they announced.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
The guy you know, the one that played in Hard
Eyes that was like the brother in the Scream.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Oh yeah, that's right. Fuck yeah he is in that mood.
So well that goes that theory.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Yeah, so I'm thinking, Yeah, I'm thinking that these which
I'm actually excited now, these legacy characters that are dead,
is going to be just like Skeet where somebody's having
a delusion or a flashback or something like that. That's
what I'm thinking is going to happen if it's taking
(32:56):
place in real time.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
These these people are dead, so or I mean, he
could be playing a different character. I don't know if
he's did say he was reprising his role in seven
w the guy from Hard Eyes. I can't think Mason Gooding,
I don't.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
I don't know why he would play another character.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
I mean playing chat was that his name?
Speaker 4 (33:22):
And well, okay, well goes out the win unless Robert
Rodriguez is directing this and we're gonna get fucking Danny
Treo playing some random Mexican in every single movie like
they did. Nah, nah, they're gonna tie it in. I
just don't know. I do think that you're right as
(33:42):
far as flashbacks.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Now. My thing with Matthew Lillard, I've been preaching and
preaching and preaching and getting on the the hill with
my two stones and saying the scream commandments for years now.
I've always wanted him to come in and be the killer.
(34:13):
You know I'm back. Well, you know I'm back killer,
you know.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Surprised bitch?
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Now, if so, help me, God, he is the killer
in this movie, I will be happy. But the fact
that they fucking announced him is too fucking obvious.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Yes, and yeah, I feel like he's going to be
in a flashback scene, and I feel like, even though
we know this, there's still gonna be crazy fans out
there going.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
He's not the fucking killer. I hate it, probably, but
I swear if it opens with a kind of alluding
to him, like a reference to him, he's gonna be
(35:10):
the fucking killer and so help me God, I am
going to kill somebody. You just don't make a fucking
announcement like that.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Yeah, you keep that, you keep that k fabe, so
to speak, until the fucking day it comes out.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Well.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
To me, it's kind of like that Saul film where
it ended up being the doctor from the first film
that yeah but obvious. Yeah, well that's what I'm saying. Yeah,
there was a there was like a meeting earlier in
that film, and he was revealed to be in it.
As soon as you're seeing him, you're like, you know
he's behind it all. I hope there's nothing like that.
(35:54):
I'm I want Matthew to be in it more. I
want him to be the killer and all that. But
like you said, they announced him. If they've done it now,
it's like you fucking ruined it.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah, you're fucking ruined. It's gonna be interesting to see
what they do with his character. Is it going to
be a flashback. Are we going to see him in prison?
Are we going to uh, I don't know, see him
in some aspect of where he got away or you know,
something like that. I think the ultimate twist at this
(36:31):
point that I think would be crazy. But I know
it's not gonna happen, and it's going to be crazy
if it did. But if somehow the killer removes its
mask and it's fucking Melissa Barrera, I will fucking pop.
(36:53):
I will shit my goddamn pants and it was fucking
Matthew Lillard and her working as the ghost face, I
will fucking I will put that in my fucking top
ten of like moments of all time? Can I make
a prediction? Sure? I think it's free, go ahead. I
(37:18):
feel like it's.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
Time for Scream to have one killer. I don't think
there's gonna be multiple killers anymore in this movie. I
think this is gonna be the first movie to legitimately
just have one killer.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Playing off of that, what if Matthew Lillard is in
prison and Sinney is doing this whole fucking Silence of
the Lambs bit with him trying to figure out the killer,
and then it's fucking Melissa Brera. I don't know if
(37:58):
I'd like that, I would fucking love it.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
It's been five movies and she hasn't mentioned that he's
still alive.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
That would be kind of awkward. Well, if she finds
out during this movie that he is alive. She didn't know.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Well she she kind of went through a traumatic experience
in that first one. I kind of don't want to
know if the Son of Bitches did or not. Well,
I'm just saying I'm just doing an out there. Yeah,
I know, it's a movie theory and all that stuff.
And look, that's why they don't pay us to write
these films. They're gonna come up with a way and
either we're gonna like it or we're gonna go that's
fucking stupid.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
It can't be as bad as six six. Uh.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah, there's a lot of people who love that film,
and I don't know why. It's not the worst movie
I've ever seen. I can, I can watch it, but
I hate watch it. Yeah you can. We can definitely
watch it. But as as big of fans of we are,
especially just in horrid in general, I mean, I think, dude,
(39:07):
we can see the holes in the plot, we can
see the holes in the character. We can see you know,
everybody else is just like everything else is awesome, and
they like overlook that stuff, and we're like, no, to us,
this leads to this, which makes that awesome, which makes
(39:27):
this awesome. But if that's not awesome, that doesn't do
it for us.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
What were you gonna say?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
I should remembering the time that we were all in
the living room and y'all were we watching it, and
I had fallen asleep and y'all's belly laughter waking me
up during one of the scenes because of how ridiculous
it was.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
So fucking stupid. It literally tickles me watching that movie
because it's like, what the.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
Fuck, Yeah, I see, we watched We watched that, but
then we was watching the fear MTV show.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Oh god, that's because the dude.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Was sitting there in the dark and he was trying
to do a mission, and then the computer dude told
the rest of the cast like he's not coming back,
and it shoots to him.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
He goes, huh.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
It's like he found out he was fucking gone and
they just kicked him of the show. It's just like
he's just doing a mission, sitting in the dark, fucking
facing his fear and it's like he's gone, Yeah, his
mission is now complete. You will never see him again.
(40:39):
It just cuts to him. He's a fucking blacked out room.
His hit just goes raises up and goes, huh.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
That's the last thing you see. Oh man, But what
did we rewind?
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Though? That did make us bust out laughing, And it wasn't.
It wasn't when she fell off the ladder, was it?
Speaker 1 (41:02):
No, it was.
Speaker 4 (41:05):
I know what it was. We had the subtitles on.
We heard something in the background that we we couldn't
pick up.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Wait or was that Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving? That was? That was
Thanksgiving because it was like somebody maybe.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
A fucking bitch and we were like, what is that?
Speaker 1 (41:27):
No, no, no, it was the fucking Jim Hanson fucking
oh you fucking muppet. He's like, get up my fucking muppet.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
Oh yeah, said something along like you Jim Hanson looking bitch,
and it was it was.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Funny called her a dyke or some ship. But yeah,
it's yeah, Thanksgiving. It's still up there still.
Speaker 4 (41:53):
But we we just want to point out we watched
Thanksgiven to get screams taste out of our mouth.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Yes we did, and that's what happened. It led to
that was a good night. We had that fear laugh.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
Then we watched scream yeah, and then the Thanksgiving and yeah, yeah,
that was a series of events.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
We should probably do live streams anybody out there if
you've never heard of Fear the MTV shows early two thousands,
I think it was like two thousand to two thousand
and two something like that. It did not last very long, unfortunately,
did not. It did very well. It was very popular,
very popular, like one of the most highest rated like
(42:41):
MTV shows, but it.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Had the gotsmac voodoo is the theme.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yeah, if you want to watch it, it's actually free
on YouTube. Yeah, just type in MTV Fear. It's worth Uh,
it's worth a watch.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
It's you can definitely see the age. But at the
same time, it did kind of revolution not revolution that
seemed that makes it seem more important than what it is.
But for what it was trying to accomplish, it was
I think that was one of the reasons why me
and you were so attracted to it, because we hadn't
(43:17):
seen the TV show like that.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
But say it was groundbreaking, not revolutionary. Yeah. Yeah, and
it was fun. It was it was creepy. It was good.
I enjoyed it. But you know, bringing it back to Scream,
we'll see how it goes, Miss Lanta, do you have
any Scream takeaways?
Speaker 3 (43:37):
I have no idea, what the heck they're going to do,
but it's really fun to hear y'all series well we do.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
